Madhubala (Mughal-e-Azam, Barsaat Ki Raat, Mr. & Mrs. '55)—The Venus of India; heart-throb of all who saw her; responsible for the sexual awakening of every single desi lesbian I know (including me!) And my god, she is breathtakingly beautiful. Look at the subtle grace with which she moves, and that smile - the kind of radiant smile that can make you laugh with sheer delight, or cry because of its hidden pain. Those wild curls! That Cupid's bow! The way she tilts back her head and smiles at you with mischief dancing in her eyes! She has a way of looking at the camera that makes you feel she's sharing a private joke just with you; it's something about that quizzical twist of the lips and eyebrows. As an actress, she is inimitable; she seems to effortlessly inhabit roles ranging from a heart-broken courtesan to a laughter-loving socialite. Fun fact : she's had quite the fan following in Greece! Stelios Kazantidis even wrote a song as a tribute to her.
Ingrid Bergman (Gaslight, Casablanca, Notorious)—Where do I even begin with Ingrid Bergman? I fell in love with her with her astounding performance in the 1956 version of Anastasia -- the best Anastasia movie in large part due to her wonderful and touching performance. She's got this amazing, fascinating intensity to her in whatever role she's in. She commits 100%, and she's got this light in whatever she's in that's stunning. She's utterly convincing no matter what she plays, from an amnesiac possible lost princess, from a nun, from a woman taking her revenge on the town that wronged her, to light romantic comedy. She's never missed in any role I've seen her in! Also she became quite the MILF.
This is round 5 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Madhubala:
Tumblr media
An icon of Bollywood, who was well known for her beauty and has continued to inspire performances and songs into the 21st century. She was at times described as "the number one beauty of the Indian screen" and "the biggest star in the world".
SHE IS EVERYTHING AHHH. JUST LOOK AT HER SMILE-
Tumblr media
She's been nicknamed the Marilyn Monroe of India and was one of the highest paid actresses in the Hindi film industry (the term Bollywood did not exist yet) during the 1950s. Also an extremely talented dancer and singer
Tumblr media
SHE'S JUST SO STUNNING, like seeing her eyes IMMEDIATELY CAPTIVATES YOU, THE DANCING, THE BEAUTY!!!!!!!!! She worked in Bollywood for over 20 years and passed away at a sad early age of 36, BUT THE IMPACT SHE HAD WAS UNMATCHED!!!!!
Tumblr media
That sassy sideways glance she does always has me WEAK AT THE KNEES. And when she's making silly faces at the camera to mimic someone ahhhh my gay little heart <3
Tumblr media
Ingrid Bergman:
Tumblr media
God, she's fantastic. She's both beautiful and a compelling actor who's more than capable of putting the whole movie on her shoulders if necessary. It's worth noting that while her beauty is conventional, she was seen as refreshingly "natural" with more eyebrows and less makeup than many other leading ladies of the time. She's well known for her role in Casablanca, but in Notorious, Spellbound, (both available on archive.org ) and Gaslight (1944) she shows how immensely capable she is.
Tumblr media
I mean...she's Ingrid Bergman. I feel like that should be enough, you know? She's physically beautiful (her eyes!) but watching her is like a transcendent experience. Her voice, her expressions... beautiful woman, beautiful actor.
I'm a gay man but even I understand her appeal. I'll watch any movie she shows up in. Gorgeous woman.
Just try and watch her movies without sighing wistfully, then get back to me!
Tumblr media
Choosing 1-3 movies where Bergman was at her hottest was agony because, of course, she was always at her hottest. Not just because she was beautiful but because she was absolutely willing to go up against the bs women in Hollywood were constantly dealing with. When exiled from Hollywood for having an affair with Roberto Rossellini, not only did she refuse to apologize at any point, but she went on to say that Hollywood's films had grown stagnant and boring to her. Though she said she appreciated her time working there, she wanted to try new, different techniques (hence starring in Italian neorealist films, working on stage, and acting under directors like Ingmar Bergman). She was not afraid to chase after her artistic ideals and go outside the box regardless of what society had to say about it. From her first movie to her last she killed it. There's so much more to say about Bergman's career and life, but I've already written five million words so I'll stop at that.
ion words so I'll stop at that.
Tumblr media
One of the most incredible actors I've ever seen on film. Her facial expressions are so intricate and poignant that I cannot look away. I'm either ace or straight, but damn she made me question that.
Tumblr media
SEVEN TIME OSCAR NOMINEE QUEEN. Girl also PULLED, having affairs with famously hot men Gary Cooper and Gregory Peck IN ADDITION to her three marriages...sexy
Tumblr media
She has a very natural beauty to her, and she's from Sweden!
She left Hollywood and only became more beautiful. You could drown in her eyes. She can look innocent AND like she's seen it all. She is effortlessly elegant. She's played Joan of Arc (automatically hot) AND was in the movie that coined gaslight as a term. And where would we be without that!
Tumblr media
She was known for being a breath of fresh air on the movie scene at the time with her windswept hair, dreamy smile and soulful eyes. I have loved her in every movie I have seen her in - she was just magnetic!
Where do I even start. There's a neighborly quality to this beautiful, talented actress that makes her hotness one of a kind and her looks impossible to forget
Tumblr media
With a career spanning five decades, Bergman is often regarded as one of the most influential screen figures in cinematic history. Known for her naturally luminous beauty, Bergman spoke five languages – Swedish, English, German, Italian and French – and acted in each.
She's hot, don't get me wrong, but I've always found her very approachable, like she could easily be a member of my friend group
Tumblr media
A lot of the time hotness in a movie is just about words and framing. "You're the most beautiful person here" [vaseline lens] well I sure hope so because that's who you cast. But when, in Casablanca, they call Ingrid Bergman the most beautiful woman in the world... they were not fucking lying. And such a dynamite actor too!! I'd only seen Casablanca up until last year, and there she's confined to love interest. But in Gaslight she was maybe one of the most incredible actors I've ever seen!!!! Goddddd shes so fucking hot and cool.

post-s2. good omens mascot here, coping unhealthily.
This is the first proper post I'm writing since the audio breakdown, good thing I queued a POTC one last week, I suppose. Yes I slept through the entire day today, missed the theatre workshop I was supposed to attend and may or may not be listening to A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square on loop. Have an update on my coping because my social life and family are both Tumblr now:
Every song is about them now. A lot were before, but now every single one. Even an old Hindi song from a 1900s Indian military movie that I have not watched, by the way. But the lyrics (thank you Google translate) are: Everybody wants a handful of the sky, everybody searches for a handful of the sky, there is a world waiting to be hugged to the chest, the moon is a fair full of stars, but this heart is still lonely. And of course that makes me think of Crowley as the starmaker. Ow.
I made the very intelligent decision to rewatch the first three episodes of season 2, knowing what the Job minisode and the Edinburgh minisode do to me. I'll be here clutching Crowley, well, hugging him close to the chest, just like that song... ah, fuck, here we go again.
I listened to you all and am drinking a lot of water, since my tear ducts were emptied yesterday and now I'm unable to cry. I also ate too much chocolate.
I searched for sad Aziracrow edits and watched them. Don't look at me. I'm in a hell of my own creation.
I used too many emotions last night and now I feel hollow and achy. Maybe I should cope with humour and write the summaries.
Or maybe that will backfire and I will be filled with horrifying levels of emotion.
I slept. A lot. Many hours. Lots sleep.
So. Well. You know. Adopted child of divorce. You were all right, this is exactly like dealing with a breakup or divorce, but much more painful.
Someone please, please, please stop me from clicking the Crowley whump tag to find fanfiction.
I remember my initial Good Omens posts. I remember calling the fandom sad, desperate, queer and masochistic, and also pointing out how you all blame Neil and then sit and make headcanons that are a hundred times worse than canon.
I was so right. Look at me now, sad, desperate, queer and masochistic, making headcanons that are a hundred times worse than canon.
Wahoo.

...some more desi!jon and martin hcs? for the soul?
Hello!!! Sorry for taking so long to answer, I needed to get into the right headspace lol
You know how it's a desi custom to like feed each other cake on birthdays? You do it with your loved ones especially so I'm imagining it's Jon's birthday and Tim insists on feeding him cake and he begrudgingly agrees then suddenly everyones feeding him cake and laughing and feeding everyone else and Martin really shouldn't feel like it's so intimate (indirect kisses as such) but it's a bonding moment for the whole archives crew
Jon is like insanely good at rangoli patterns, his grandma put him to work every festival season and it kept his hands busy for hours on end, building spiral patterns with vibrant powders. He lost some of it over the years, but in the Scottish Safehouse, he makes smaller patterns across the entrance almost as a sigil against everything they were being hunted by
Martin has a pretty good Bengali accent and is fluent, his mum refused to speak anything other than Bangla so he's kept it up all these years and gotten quite good at it to the point where he's sometimes mistaken for a native speaker
Jon has an atrocious accent and can just about get by in Hindi, he had been sat down by his grandma to try and teach him a couple of times over his childhood but he never could concentrate for long enough, his grandma shouted too much for his liking and he was a gifted kid so if he didn't get it immediately, he wouldn't do it at all
Jon's favourite Bollywood actor is Irrfan Khan cause he thinks he's super impactful and he loved him in Piku (but he grew up watching mostly old black and white Bangla movies directed by satyajit Roy like Pather Panchali)
Martin's favourite has to be SRK cause he's a classic and he grew up watching him and whenever he's sad he watches Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Chennai Express
They both adore 3 Idiots though, like they were both screwed over by the education system in different ways (Martin struggled with juggling school and caring for his mum so he ended up dropping out, Jon and his burned out gifted kid vibes), they understand the pressure to get a certain level of educated and a certain type of profession (they would've gotten it from judgemental relatives lol like you couldve used your intelligence to become an engineer and instead you work for a falthu place) and they definitely understand the mental health issues and the friendship between the guys reminds them of their own friendships over the years
Also that song "give me some sunshine, give me some rain" like one day Martin's humming it and Jon's like is that???? and then Martin starts singing it and they do a little duet (martin was classically trained in rabindra Sangeet so he has a smooth velvety voice and jons is decent) and then it can become a super angsty call back in MAG 200
That's all I got!! Thanks for the ask!!

5 songs from QLs (queer movies and shows)
Thank you for tagging me @dummerjan 💚
🎶They do not have to be custom-made for the series.
🎶Non-western tracks only. Let's support Asian music and languages! 🎶Feel free to tag anyone who may be interested in participating. 🎶Add #5qls tag to your post for others to find the new favourites!
So, I'll start the list with some Hindi songs as that's my beloved mother-tongue 😍 I'll basically list the queer movie/show name first and then its OST.
1. Maja Ma - Buniyaad by The Yellow Diary
This movie left me stunned. It was the first indian queer film I watched centred around a middle aged lesbian woman and it left me feeling so much.. the acting by Madhuri and Simone is stellar. I'm only sad we didn't get more scenes between them.
This is the reprised version. The original version is also on YouTube and both are lovely 💚
youtube
2. Shubh Mangal Zada Savdhaan - Raakh by Arjit Singh
I think this entire playlist is just going to be of songs that make me ache. Please do read the English translation of Raakh if possible. The lyrics are pure love and pain and really showcase the pain queer couples go through and how they have to fight tooth and nail for their love.
youtube
3. Couple of mirrors - Immortality by Zhang Nan
This song makes my heart ache. It is soft like a lullaby yet there's such pain. Simply heavenly PLUS it's sung by the very actress who plays the lead role of You Yi! And the show? Amazing! The whole old era vibe and the bond between our two ladies was killer (given that one of them is a literal killer lol) Love you Yan Wei and You Yi 💚
youtube
4. KinnPorsche The Series - Contradict by Season Five
Another song that reduces me to tears. It's stuck with me for so long and yet I couldn't bear myself to listen to it for a while there. That's how much it made me hurt.
youtube
5. We Best Love - Blue Lover by YU and Unbreakable love by Eric
Don't ask me to choose. I love both these songs. Just.. Just go listen to them 😢😍
youtube
youtube
Well here comes an end to the literal cry fest. Hope you all check out the movies and shows. Enjoooyyyy and don't forget to carry some tissues 😙😙😙
Tagging @fanshipper1412 @therealblessedaffliction @vvitcherys and anyone else who wants to take this up 😄💚

BL'S OTHER TRACKS
Check out this unreleased song by Marko entitled, "Jesen" (Autumn) found in SoundCloud website. Great song and the lyrics are beautiful!
I'm glad that he preserves his old songs - at least I wanted to listen more hits by him, hehehehe. 😁
P.S.: I decide as well to include a translation of the lyrics in one of my native tongues, Filipino - in honor to diverse the beauty of music in other languages.
Special thanks to lasagna.source - via Instagram - for providing the song lyrics and English translation.
ORIGINAL LYRICS: Kiša počinje i sve mijenja se Sunce zalazi još ranije More ledi se Smiješak nestaje Jesen dolazi i lišće žuti se Vjetar čisti sve Loše misli, prevare Probat ću još jednom samo da znam
Tko to skriva se Iza moje jeseni Da ti čujem glas Tko to počiva U dubini moga sna Više nisam sam
Tišina guta sve Grad prazan je, ali svako malo nađem te Misliš li na mene, kada svijetla gase se Čije ruke sada griju te?
Tko to skriva se Iza moje jeseni Da ti čujem glas Tko to počiva U dubini moga sna Više nisam sam
Gdje si sad? Izađi iz mog sna Pokaži se ili nestani zauvijek x2
Tko to skriva se Iza moje jeseni Da ti čujem glas Tko to počiva U dubini moga sna Više nisam sam
Ta kiša počinje I sve mijenja se Sunce zalazi još ranije
TRANSLATION (ENGLISH):
The rain begins and everything changes The sun sets even earlier The sea freezes A smile disappears Autumn comes and the leaves turn yellow The wind cleans everything Bad thoughts, deceptions I will try once more, just to know
Who is hiding Behind my autumn? Let me hear your voice Who is resting In the depths of my dream? I am no longer alone
Silence swallows everything The city is empty, but every now and then I find you Do you think of me when the lights go out? Whose hands are now keeping you warm?
Who is hiding Behind my autumn? Let me hear your voice Who is resting In the depths of my dream? I am no longer alone
Where are you now? Come out of my dream Show yourself or disappear forever x2
Who is hiding Behind my autumn? Let me hear your voice Who is resting In the depths of my dream? I am no longer alone
The rain begins And everything changes The sun sets even earlier

Jailer (2023) Spoiler Review
If you like pure mass entertainment and a group of veteran actors kicking ass, you'll love Jailer.
I saw Rajni's Petta a while back and while I enjoyed some parts of it, I was largely frustrated towards the end. I also saw Nelson's (the director) Beast, and while it had a straightforward premise, some parts of it were eyebrow-raising (I still love the hallway shooting scene with Vijay, though, that was just hella cool even if it didn't make sense). So, when they announced a Nelson and Rajinikanth collaboration, I wasn't sure if I should bother watching.
I'm glad I watched it though. For one, the story isn't all over the place. The revenge angle and heist subplot made sense together.
The flashback revealing Rajini's days as a hard-core warden aka Jailer was pretty nice. I liked that his hair style looked like the one in his older movies. However, I really don't understand why the inmates liked him or became loyal to him. It was never showed what he did to make them turn over a new leaf. They just said he helped them, but we mainly saw him being extremely violent.
Okay, this is part where I reveal that I saw Jailer a day after I saw Jawan. I couldn't help comparing the action in both movies because the action in Jailer is so violent! I'm not complaining or cringing. I actually liked the over-the-top violence lmao. It's just that I was like "Oh, right, this is one of things I was waiting for in Jawan -- hyperviolence!" LMAO.
Anyway, I do love that the former inmates that helped him were veteran action stars from Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema: Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff respectively. Bruh, I had goosebumps when Shiva R stepped into the house to protect Muthu's family while the Hukum song played!
Next, let's talk about the songs and bgm. "Hukum" really is such a banger of a song. And the style that they do, where they insert bits of the song's melody into cool scenes that build up and lead to the FULL SONG or at least CHORUS is such a great style because it makes you so hyped for the next badass scene!
Now, the family -- I honestly thought Rajni and Ramya Krishnan would have more romantic moments together since this is their reunion. Like, yes, they're grandparents now, but so what? It's always nice to see older people still doing romantic stuff with each other y'know.
Anyway, that twist with his son! I didn't expect them to go all the way with the betrayal but wow. It was really sad, but I liked that they went for that gut-wrenching story, too. Rajini is not much of a dramatic actor, but his performance was good for what the script called for. Also, his partnership with Yogi Babu was funny and nice. Also, those bald sharp-shooter guys! Their costume changes! That was so hilarious! And Varman's henchmen! The random funny characters and elements are really such a fun part of the mass experience.
All in all, Jailer is a really enjoyable movie for the whole family (if your kids are old enough to not be so desensitized to violence I guess).

✨I ranked all the indian stuff I watched in 2023✨
For context, this July I finally gave in to my decade-old urge and dove head first into indian culture. It's been nothing short of phenomenal. The more people I meet, the more foods I try, the more music I listen to, the more Hindi I learn, the more I fall in love with India.
Although I became more of a TV serial person, eventually, I gave in to the movies as well.
So here's everything I watched, ranked from worst to best.
(I'm sorry in advance)
Tumblr media
10. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
This movie is useless, I'm so sorry. Somehow, it fooled me into thinking Naina was the main character, then the whole thing became about Bunny and I was so confused, who was I supposed to care about anyway? Can't complain though, Naina is a boring and uncharismatic cliché, I couldn't care less about her, had she disappeared midway into the story, I would've been thankful. Avi, Bunny, and Aditi, on the other hand, are loveable characters that deserved to be in a better movie — especially Aditi, I liked her so much. Too bad the movie seems to be about absolutely nothing. There was a message, I think, but it felt so shallow it didn't even matter to me, there was no actual relevance, no lesson, no impact, nothing. Maybe I'm stupid, but this movie is a drag. And the soundtrack SUCKS, Ilahi is the only good song in it.
2.8/10
Tumblr media
9. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
The very first Bollywood movie I've ever watched. I wanted to like it so bad, it makes me sad that I didn't. Is it a comedy? A horror story? A dramatic murder mystery? Somehow, it's all of these and none at the same time, it can't decide on a tone to save its life, not even the humor can decide on what exactly it wants to be (most of it is just bad). The main couple has negative chemistry, their romance is so bland it's almost funny. Ruhan carries the whole movie on his back and is the only character with enough charisma to make me care, I honestly love this guy. His scene where he pretends to be possessed is incredible, and Tabu as Anjulika was great too. The plot twist was really nice, possibly the only good thing about the whole story, but then the movie ends so abruptly and on such a heavy note that it almost made me sick when the upbeat theme song started playing immediately after. This movie could not read the room, everything about it throws me off.
4/10
Tumblr media
8. Jab We Met
Aditya is a dream, Geet is kind of a nightmare. I have nothing against characters that are lively, optimistic, and cheery, but they have to be bearable, she was just way too much for me. I loved Aditya's character development, it was fun and endearing to watch. The movie itself is not bad, just overrated. Nagada Nagada slaps though.
6/10
Tumblr media
7. War
I wanted to love this movie just as much as it wanted to have a good twist. We both failed. Underestimating the audience's intelligence is one thing, but toying with us and making us feel like fools for the sake of a “big reveal” is something else. And no, it wasn't worth it. It wanted to be surprising, but it was just frustrating, shocking for all the wrong reasons. The action was fire though, no complaints there, and I loved the relationship dynamic between Kabir and Khalid, I would watch 11 seasons of those two going on missions with their team and fighting together, their chemistry is so good, I enjoyed every second of their scenes.
6.4/10
Tumblr media
6. Arjun: The Warrior Prince
As a Mahabharat fan, I had hopes, but that's on me. Loved the way the story was presented to the audience, simple but brilliant. Shaheer Sheikh's Brihannala altered my brain chemistry, and I was elated to see her again. The animation was gorgeous, that goes without saying. I just hated how it ended right before the war, right where Arjun has some of his best moments, and hated even more how they practically erased Krishna from the story. At least they made him dark skinned this time.
6.7/10
Tumblr media
5. My Name is Khan
Had this been based on a true story, I would've been the biggest fan of this movie to ever exist, I am a sucker for movies based on real life stories. Still, despite the disappointment of finding out this whole thing — as good as it was — was fictional, I see it as a touching, lovely, honest, and relevant story that kept me interested and broadened my horizons. Say whatever you want about allistic actors playing autistic characters, Shah Rukh Khan sold the heck out of this character and I bought it like the big neurodivergent fool that I am. I see a neurodivergent character onscreen, I am immediately on-board and loving them despite all their scripted flaws because “they're just like me fr”. "Marry me", indeed.
7/10

4. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
Is it innovative and groundbreaking? No, but it is so much fun. It's deep and honest enough, charismatic and funny enough, it's just good entertainment with a good message. I expected nothing to be honest, either way, the story just kept getting better? The dynamics kept getting deeper and more complex? Wait a minute, this was actually good! I went in for the soundtrack — I'm obssessed with Dhindhora Baje Re — but I stayed for everything else. I laughed out loud many times, I shed some tears, I rooted, man, this movie made me feel actual things! What a lovely surprise.

3. The Railway Men
I went into it with such high hopes. Some of them were met, but part of me was left unsatisfied. As I said before, real stories are my favorite, but the way this show was presented feels too much like fiction. Good fiction, but still. And I know it’s not fiction. I am aware that many creative liberties were taken, and I'm not against them, at all, but the thing is: I could see them, I knew they were there. When I watched HBO’s Chernobyl, I was fully convinced that everything that was presented in the show was reality, exactly how it had happened, and I doubted nothing. I was shocked when they revealed that Ulana Khomyuk was a character created to represent many scientists that were involved in the incident. I had eaten her up, and I still can't believe she wasn't a real person. The Railway Men feels like the opposite of this, most of it feels like a creative liberty, very little reads as a real event, a real interaction, or a real person. I doubted a lot of what I saw, and had to do some research to fully understand what exactly had been real. But like I said, it was still good. I found myself caring deeply for each and every character, no matter how minor, I deeply empathized with their pain, rooted for them, cried with them, cried for them. It's heartbreaking, gut wrenching, revolting, yet it still manages to be inspiring. Why I never learned about Bhopal before watching this show is beyond me, but at any rate, I will be recommending this show to everyone I know.

2. Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva
I will defend this movie's honor, I don't even care. I loved it so much that I made my mom watch it with me the next day, and she loved it. The dialogue is cringy, yes, unbearably so, some lines make my skin crawl. But COME ON, the plot is great, the concept is creative, the visual effects are wonderful, the soundtrack is divine —Mohan is dreamy— hear me out, I was hooked, on board, immersed, you name it. This movie made me feel so excited, I felt like a 7-year-old watching a super hero movie and wanting to have cool powers just like those, I honestly can't remember the last time a movie made me feel this energetic. Do I understand why Shiva and Isha were so deeply in love despite having met each other a week ago? No, but I was still rooting for them. Do I understand why sometimes people yell out the Astra’s powers in order to activate them like the Power Rangers? No, neither do I vibe with it, but do you think it mattered? The next moments were so freaking cool that I completely forgot what I wanted to complain about. (Oh, and Saurav Gurjar was in it! I gasped so loud when I saw him on screen, and playing a villain no less!) I was genuinely sad when it ended, I would've watched three more hours of that, despite the terribly written lines. I will fight for this movie and forgive every bad line of dialogue if it kills me.

1. Mahabharat (2013)
In case you haven't noticed, I am absolutely obssessed with Mahabharat. Initially, I’d decided to face the 267 episodes of this show because watching stuff in your target language is a good way to learn (also, that Krishna guy was very easy on the eyes, looking at him a bit more surely wouldn't hurt). It took me a few episodes to really get into the story, but once I did, oh boy, I was so hooked on the plot I even forgot about the language (although I did learn some words from it). The thing about this show, other than the freaking superb plot and phenomenal cast, are the characters. They all made me feel something. And that's the thing with characters, I believe, they don't necessarily have to be good or bad, morally speaking, they have to be well-written and entertaining, they have to make you feel things, positive or negative. Shakuni, a villain, was freaking great because of how good he was at being bad. And the good guys, like the Pandavas, weren't just good, that'd be boring, they were also charismatic, unique, funny, inspiring, and sometimes morally grey, which made them even more interesting, even more human. Watching them get in conflict with their morals when things got dark was insane. Even when they messed up —I'm looking at you Dharmraj— I still wanted to see them win. They felt like family, I watched them grow, I felt so close to them that their struggles and victories felt like my own. “My boys”, I call them. Mahabharat is my Roman Empire, man, I could talk about this show for HOURS. Anyway, this became my favorite show of all time and I'm so glad I didn't let the number of episodes scare me away. (And yes, I am still very much in love with Saurabh Raaj’s Krishna, he is probably one of my favorite characters ever, my heart raced when I first saw him and it still does to this day, BYE)
9/10
Oh, this ended up being a Top 10. Nice.
I both thank you and applaud you for reaching the end of this ramble that is ultimately just a result of my obsession with making lists and ranking literally everything. And also my admiration for indian culture.
I would've included Porus and Chandragupta Maurya but I'm not yet finished watching them, but I thought I should say: I am liking them a lot.
What do you people think I should watch next year? Recommendations are welcome!

Propaganda
Olivia de Havilland (Adventures of Robin Hood, Gone With the Wind, The Heiress)— The woman who took on the Studio System at the height of their power and Won! A double Oscar winner! Is magnetic and beautiful in everything she's in and gave us all the juicy scandal with her sibling rivalry with Joan Fontaine! Before the Oscar Slap was the Oscar sister snub! Also everything she wears in Robin Hood she makes beautiful even a purple green and orange monstrosity how does she do it! Anyway this scene is one of my old Hollywood favourites
This is round 3 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Olivia de Havilland:
Tumblr media
She is just perfection. She has a smile that is looks like it is barely holding back, and yet so reserved as well.
Tumblr media
Broke the contract system and won freedoms for actors (the de Havilland Law is still in effect I believe). 2 time Oscar winner. Beautiful and smart
Tumblr media
She legally challenged the movie studios' unfair contracts and won, setting a precedent for other actors to be treated more fairly. This was at great cost to her financially and essentially getting her blacklisted for years but the resulting judicial opinion is still known as the De Havilland Law and has won her a great deal of praise and admiration.
Tumblr media
Her performance in The Heiress is one of my all-time favorites, she’s so good at making melodrama feel real and grounded without sacrificing any of the passion/drama.
Serenely beautiful, she struck a balance between crowd-pleasing fluff and prestigious drama. Famously at odds with her equally successful sister Joan Fontaine, she was too much of a lady to ever say anything public. Successfully sued Ryan Murphy for portraying her as a saucy gossip in Feud.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the period costume + eye patch combo in That Lady is just an absolute serve
Tumblr media
She has the most adorable and cherubic face and voice

Grow Old with You
(Carlos Sainz × fem!reader)
Genre: Fluff
Summary: You sang your favorite Tagalog song in Carlos on how you want to grow old with him.
a/n: my first time writing a fictional, sorry for the errors. Enjoy Reading❣️
Humming on the song my phone recently playing while preparing the favorite food that Carlos want as I was busying myself Carlos called "Mi Amor?" I shouted yes to him a minute later he came to the kitchen "Here you are" he smiled at me kissed my forehead and sit on the bar stool as he saw what I was doing he asked if he could help me I gladly said no to him. After a few moments of silents my favorite Filipino song started to play I gasp making Carlos turn his head at me "Something wrong happen, love?" he said in a concerned voice, I quickly shake my head and grab my phone quickly press the video record button. As I slowly came to Carlos
Patatawanin kita 'pag hindi ka masaya
I sang making Carlos turn his head up to me he curiously ask "What sad?? I'm not sad, my love". I almost forgot that I teach Carlos some of the Filipino languages to him. I continue to approach him
Even if you aren't upset right now, I will do anything to make you smile since your smile means so much to me. I've always wanted to be one of the reasons you're happy in life.
Bubuhatin kita 'pag nirayuma ka na
I sang again making Carlos more curious "Love..?" I chuckled making my way to him between his legs as he automatically place his both hands on my waist "You know I'm not old enough to have arthritis, no?" he said.
Even you don't have an arthritis i will still care for you beacause i care for you i really do, love.
Oh, kay sarap isipin kasama kang tumanda
I whispered and pressed my forehead to him. "All I wanna do is grow old with you," I said saying the word again but in English version. He smiled at me "Me too."
Even though we have disagreements, miscommunications, and I become angry at you for no reason, I want to grow old with you. I like you, I want you to be with me forever, I want you to be the person I adore and love forever, I want you to be the other half of me, and finally, I want you. everything about yourself.
Ibibili ng balot 'pag mahina na tuhod Ikukuha ng gamot 'pag sumakit ang likod
I sang "Balot? What was that love?" he said pulling me closer to him all I can do is smile at him every time he said something he wants to learn "Ikukuha ng gamot 'pag sumakit ang likod" I said "Love, you know that I only understand a little bit of tagalog you know?" when he said "I know"
Even if you don't understand some of the songs I'm singing right now, I will always take care of you, even though the medication was unpleasant every time you tried to create a fuse that you are okay.
Sasamahan kahit kailanman mahigit kumulang, 'di mabilang 30 araw sa isang buwan umabot man tayo sa 3001
I loved him, I loved him dearly even though he always said that he love me more but I know to myself that I love him more than anything. I love those pretty big brown eyes, I love his voice especially when he speaks his strong Spanish accent. I love when he tries to impress me with something even though it always failed. I love the way even though he had a busy schedule he still makes time for me. I love him because he's him my Carlos, my man, the love of my life, my soulmate, my lover...I want to grow old with him every second, every minute, every day, every week, every month, every year, heck even a decade even if we reach 3001. I want him by my side forever.
Loves na loves pa rin kita kahit bungi-bungi ka na para sa akin, ikaw pa rin ang pinakamaganda
I sang "Maganda? That's pretty right?" he asked I only nod placing my hands on his neck "Yes, in my eyes even though you have crooked teeth you are still pretty in my eyes," I said trying to tease him he whine "Mon Amour, I already said to you I am not still old I am 28 your old ass man!" I laugh at him he looks cute when he whined I kissed his whole face "Okay, my pretty boy" I said was about to leave his face to continue to sing he pulls you even closer "What now??" you laugh "More" he whispered pulling his lips closer to mine which I gladly obliged my lips meeting his in an explosive passion of desire and love, our emotions taking over as we continue to kiss passionately, he pulled me even closer to him not breaking the kiss completely forgetting about everything just him.
