June 13th, Andy’s birthday. He wasn’t actually a guy who like to celebrate his birthday with big parties, he liked going out for dinner, a small gathering nothing too extravagant. But this year Annie convinced him to be a little bit more bolt with his birthday celebration, so he decided to have a pool party and a barbecue during the weekend, it was the summer, so it seems appropriate. Annie rented a place for them, their family and friends. The place had a big pool, a grill area and a cabin.

Annie was now in her 4th month of pregnancy, her bump was a bit visible now, still small though, her jeans were tighter, and she began to wear baggy shirts and dresses to work to keep hiding her pregnancy. According to her doctor everything was perfectly fine, the baby was healthy, momma was healthy and Andy was over the moon watching how she was getting bigger as days passed by.

Andy put all the provisions, meat, beers, sodas, and their bags in the trunk of their car and headed out of town to where his birthday was taking place. By the time they got there, Sebastian, Sharon and Mark were already waiting and the rest of the people arrived 30 minutes after they did. Everyone was invited, people from Andy’s office, including Neal, Anthony and his family, Lynn and her husband, Pam and Phoebe, The Lopez and of course Annie’s family.

As soon as they walked in, the girls and the kids went straight to the pool area and the guys went to the grill to begin making the food. Except for Andy and Annie who stayed in the cabin. Annie grabbed her duffle bag and walked into the bathroom in the master bedroom. Andy was taking the rest of their bags and put them in the cabin, they planned to stay there for the night. He knocked on the bathroom door after he put the bags on the bed.

“Honey?” Another knock, “Everything ok? Are you feeling sick?”

Annie walked out wearing a baby pink bikini, her little bump was totally visible, Andy’s eyes shone when she saw her.

“Well, look at you. All pretty in pink.”

She walked to the full length mirror in one of the corners of the room, her hands caressing her bump a wide smile spread across her face. Andy walked behind her placing his hands on top of hers.

“How is our baby today?”

“They’re good.” She giggled when she felt Andy’s beard near her neck when he kissed her shoulder.

“I think it’s time, honey.” He gave her another kissed now in the back of her neck.

“Andy, everyone is waiting for you, you’re the birthday boy!”

“No, I’m not talking about sex.”

“Oh! So what are we talking about?” He caressed her bump.

“You said it, everyone is here. And you heard the doctor everything is fine with our baby.”

“But, Andy, I think we should wait.”

“Wait? Till when? When the baby is out of you?”

“We could do that.”

“You’ve got to be kidding! Look I know you are still a bit scare, but nothing bad will happened.”

“Well, you don’t know that cuz you are not a doctor.”

“Either you tell them or I will!” Annie thought about it for a second, “I want this to be my birthday present.”

“Huh! That’s a lot cheaper that what I bought for you. Can I returned your present then?”

“No, this will be my second present.”

“Ok, fine.”

“Yes!” Andy did a little dance making Annie laughed, “Can I know about my other present?”

Andy walked out of the cabin, going straight with the guys to chat for a bit, and Annie walked out a couple of minutes later wearing one of Andy’s t-shirts. The kids; Mark and Sharon were in the pool splashing water all over the place.

“Come on! Are you not coming in?” Sharon said pouting like a kid.

“You know, Jake and Luis are a bad influence for you.” Annie said and Sophie and Martha, who were laying on the loungers next to the pool, laughed, “I am coming in, ok? Just gimme a sec.”

Annie took the helm of the t-shirt, Andy was looking at his wife, pretending to be listening to his friends. Annie lifted his t-shirt revealing her pink bikini to everyone.

“Oh my god!” Martha, Sophie and Mark said at the same time.

“What?” Sharon said who was looking the front of Annie’s body, “What?” Annie turned to the side and showed her barely there belly. “OH MY GOD!!!!!”

The guys turned around when they heard Sharon’s loud voice.

“I’M PREGNANT!” Annie said at the top of her lungs feeling a great relief doing it.

Sharon and Mark jumped out of the pool and hugged her tightly, followed my Martha, Sophie, Pam and Lynn. The kids were still in the pool a bit confused about what was happening. Andy’s friends turned to see him, a wide smile spread across his face.

“Yeah!” Seb said and jumped to Andy’s arms. “Congratulations!” The rest of his friends padded his back or shook hands with him, expect for his brother in law, who was just staring at him.

“You got my sister pregnant?”

“Dude, what did you expect? They’re married, they have sex.” Neil said.

“Come on, man, no brother wants to know some guy is banging her little sister.” Anthony said.

“I’m… sorry?” Andy said with a clear fear on his voice.

“Sorry? I’M GONNA BE AN UNCLE!!!!” Tom hugged Andy squeezing him hard, “I know I already said this the day before the wedding, but do something to her or try to leave and I will hunt you down.”

“I would never dream of leaving her.” Andy said and Tom padded his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Annie laid down in one of the loungers, talking with her friends and sister in law. Sophie was talking about some things she thought were necessary for Annie during her pregnancy.

“I don’t mean to interrupt.” Martha said, “But she is not listening to you.”

“What?” Sophie turned to see Annie soundly asleep on the lounger, breathing steadily. “We should probably get her inside, she’s gonna sunburned if we don’t.”

“I got her.” Mark said. He took her in his arms, turned to see Andy who gave him a reassuring nod and headed to the cabin.

Andy walked into the bedroom in the cabin. Annie was still sleeping covered by the comforter. He walked slowly and sat next to her. His hand went to caress her cheek.

“Honey?” He kept touching her cheek, “Wake up, baby girl.” Annie stirred, her eyes fluttering open, “There you are.” Annie looked around, she wasn’t around the pool that’s for sure. She looked a bit confused. “You fell asleep.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s ok. They understood.” Annie nodded, “Are you hungry?”

“Yeah.”

“Wanna come with me, so we can eat together? I made you a rib sandwich with barbecue sauce and extra pickles.”

Her mouth watered when Andy said pickles. She smiled and stood up ready to leave when Jake appear in front of them, droplets of water dripping from him.

“Yes, sweetie?”

“What is praganant?” He said with a frown on his brow.

“Oh!” They had totally forgot to have this conversation with him. They haven’t told him anything in fear he will said something to other people. “Jake, sweetie. I’m having a baby. You are going to be a big brother!”

“Really?!” he began jumping up and down, “Santa, finally listen!” Andy and Annie laughed. “Where is the baby?”

“In here.” Annie pointed to her tummy.

“You eat the baby?”

“No, Jake, the baby lives in there until is ready to go out.” Andy explained.

“When is the baby out?”

“Mmmm like in November.” Annie said.

“That’s so away! I want the baby now.”

“Darling, we can’t have that. The baby needs to grow and then you’ll meet him or her.” Annie replied.

“I want the baby is a girl.”

“We’ll see. Ok, buddy?” Andy said.

“Yes! Ok!” Jake lifted his arms so Andy could carry him outside.

The baby was finally out of the bag and Annie never thought she could feel this excited to finally say she was pregnant. The three of them left the cabin to enjoy their meal and to keep celebrating Andy’s birthday.

saw two more stupid sq fics that need to be debunked one with emma crying over regina at the coronation and they both make hope "theirs" because hook was more in love with the idea of a baby than the real thing (like he isn't over the moon to be a father and loves hope with all his heart) and one where emma was thinking of regina when hook proposed the first time but she practically asked him to propose to her when she found the ring, the delusion is insane

Ok so I am gonna combine these asks and make a new tag for “What the hell kinda fic did that Regina Apologist just write” cause geez people! I’m gonna preface this again by saying I know the purpose of fan fiction is to explore different scenarios… but it sounds like the majority of Regina centric fics have everyone so out of character! Like what is the point? Go write your own story with your own characters at this point. Anyway. Let’s dive in.

It’s NOT Hope Swan-Mills, people, her name is Hope Swan-Jones!

I love how they are so comfortable with taking a child away from their biological father but the moment you say “Regina isn’t fit to be called Henry’s mother because she illegally adopted and abused him” they flip out on you like you’ve physically harmed them by being “anti-adoption”. So it’s perfectly acceptable when they’re anti-birth parent (they even go as far to disparage Emma’s relationship with Henry) but don’t you dare point out how bad of a mother Regina was!

Ok sorry, that was a tangent. Back to the point: Hook being in love with the idea of having a child but not the real thing is 100% fanon and not supported by canon at all and seems like a really stupid reach to me. But as always they have to make Hook into the abuser when in show canon Regina was the abusive one. You can go back to Hook’s time with Bae and see that he always wanted to be a father. This becomes even more apparent with how he was so involved in Henry’s life. And no, that wasn’t just to get to Emma. He genuinely cared for Henry. And Henry cared for him.

The CaptainSwan proposal fic

That must have been a total rewrite because as you point out it’s Emma that pretty much proposes to Killian! And if it wasn’t a total rewrite then that is one pretty big delusion because it doesn’t make logical sense. If Emma didn’t want Killian to propose then wouldn’t she have hidden the ring instead? Why would she run down the stairs all happy and present it to him and tell him she’d say “yes?” Was she having a hallucination that it was Regina? Like come on people.

How do you all read this garbage and still think you’re reading about characters in OUAT?

Fanon fanfic Hook running out and abusing pregnant Emma and Henry

Right because the man who risked his life over and over for Emma and for Henry is going to suddenly run out on them? There is absolutely no chance that Hook abandons his children like his father abandoned him and the proof is in what I mentioned above. And yes, I count Henry as his because he was a father figure to Henry and his step-father. Killian stopped running the moment he believed he could be a part of something again. He is not going to turn his back on that now. He found purpose and meaning with Emma and Henry. Why on earth would he give that up to be alone and miserable again? Also Killian Jones fought multiple times to get to Emma. And now he’s gonna walk away? Yeah. No. That makes no sense.

And as for the abuse… there is absolutely 0 canon evidence of Killian Jones abusing Emma. So unless he’s cursed again to be someone he’s not, that is completely and absolutely out of character.

But you know who would abuse Emma and Henry as she has a history of doing so even after her redemption? Regina Mills. You know who else would run off on Emma because he has a history of doing so? Neal Cassidy.

Fanon fanfic Emma a cheater?

Ok this I laughed at. I can’t see Emma as a cheater. She didn’t even want to play dirty to win the spot as the sheriff in season 1. That’s just not who Emma is. It is who Regina is though. She has no issues taking what she wants no matter who it hurts.

oh boy... strap in, folks - much like @kittenofdoomage did, I'm going to try and not stick to SPN here (I think we all know where I stand with those boys anyway- so- ahem-)

In no particular order....

1- The Brat Prince, Himself- The one and only Vampire Lestat, and yes, I'm using Tom Cruise bc I haven't seen the new show yet, but of literary media- Lestat deLioncourt shall always and forever be my number one. He has been with me since I was 12 years old and shall never leave ever for any reason. the end.

2 - Jack Shepard from LOST. Now, I know what you're thinking- he kinda sucks, and yes, yes he does. but honestly, beside Hugo- they ALL kinda suck. And since the pilot, I have always felt very connected to Jack and his struggles with life and death and good and bad. He's just my main guy, OK? Get off my back about it and help me move this giant wheel thingy...

3- Rory Williams, The Last Centurion, and Greatest Companion- Doctor Who. He just... He is me in any and all magical/epic/adventure situations and I can't get around that. And he's adorable and so loving and just the utter best.

4- Roger Sterling - Mad Men. One of the greatest sonsofbitches ever. He drinks like I do (martinis), he's cool and sexy like I am. He's sophisticated and tired. Just like me. lol

5- Ryan O'Reilly - OZ. Just watching this for the first time but I am 1000000% in and He is just so incredible. I can't even explain it but I'm hanging onto the hope that he makes it out alive. lol

6- Shawn - The Good Place. Really, it's everyone from TGP and I can't really choose, but I just adore Marc Evan Jackson, so I went with him. lol

7- Quentin Coldwater - The Magicians. He just... We are the same person, and if you watch the show, you'll understand me and what I mean. He is my heart.

8- Link Neal - GMM - Look, I just think he's sexy and kind of an asshole and I dig that accent.

9- Jerry - The Walking Dead. WHAT? Beka! You're Team Rick! You love Negan! What about Daryl? OK- Listen up folks, of anyone on that show- I would only ever trust Jerry. Also anytime he was in peril, I would literally scream at the tv "you better not hurt my baby!!!" so... there ya go.

10- Paul Hollywood - GBBS. Idk if he counts, but he does. And I don't think I really need to explain myself.

@justmilah The thing I was writing last night :) (< evil smiley face because this is an evil fic but in a (mostly) happy way)

(AU where the baby from this fic dies in childhood, reunites with her parents during season 5, and gets to move on because finding her family was her unfinished business. Also, Milah is not in the River because the contract’s been fulfilled so Rumple isn’t fighting Hades about it.)

Sister

"Baelfire?" a small voice asks, and Neal might have been annoyed if the little girl standing in front of him hadn't looked so terrified. She's shaking like a leaf, her bright blue eyes wide with apprehension.

"Hey, kid, where'd you hear that name?" he asks gently.

"Mama told me. She said to find you," the girl responds, sounding slightly bolder at the mention of her mother. "She gave me this, so I would know you." That brings Neal's attention to the piece of paper the girl clutches to her chest. He reaches for the paper but she doesn't uncurl her posture to hand it to him.

"It's ok," he soothes. "I'm not gonna hurt you." The girl sets her jaw in determination - there's something familiar about that expression, about her whole face, really - and relinquishes the paper.

It's a portrait of him, in a style he would recognize anywhere. "Milah?" he chokes out around the lump that's suddenly formed in his throat. "Milah's your mother?"

The girl nods.

A sister.

He has a sister.

"She says she misses you," the girl whispers. Her lip starts to tremble as she adds, "I wish she came with me."

Neal crouches down until he's looking at her eye to eye and cautiously holds out his arms, offering a hug. "She'll get here someday," he promises.

"And you'll be my family while we wait?"

He nods. "I'll be your family forever." It's only then that she takes one small, brave step forward and collapses into his outstretched arms.

Neal can tell as he holds her that she's far too thin under the puffy jacket that she'll no longer need in this warmer place. He tries not to think about what kind of life could have made his baby sister so scared and so small and dead so soon. And he silently promises them both - and their mother - that he'll be the best brother she could ever want.

Once Upon a Time season 5B thoughts

I’m rewatching OUAT and I wanted to share some of my opinions on each season!

- This is my favourite season!!! (And the only one I have rewatched before)

- Awww it’s Neal

- Slay red intro

- Of course cora is the mayor

- This implies that they have a municipal government (Cora) and a federal?/realm? government (Hades)

- No don’t kiss him it’s James!!!

- Why are they wearing the same outfit lol

- Cora basically just told Regina that she’s going to hell

- THE CHIPPED CUP

- Omg rumbelle is adorable

- THE LITTLE DOLL

- Ooh Pan is back

- “The ale of Sinead from the land of Dunbroch” “That’s a mouthful” lol

- Not the jester lol

- Ooh slay Henry sr switched the hearts

- Pocket sized dad

- YASSSSS ITS HADES

- Alexa, play My Man from Funny Girl

- Fun fact: it was Greg Germann’s idea for Hades to be getting a pedicure in this scene

- Such a slay lair

- Imo it doesn’t look as bad as people say it does like there is WAY worse cgi on the show

- Hercules is my favourite Disney movie and although I love this season, Hades is the only character they got right

- They sucked all the sass and agency out of Megara, making her just a damsel in distress

- And Hercules just doesn’t have the charisma or hunk look of the original

- He looks like the guy from the maze runner, just a typical YA movie looking guy

- They also aged them down which I’m not a fan of

- It’s just kinda disappointing

- Yassss he’s back <3

- CRUELLA

- She replaced all Regina’s horse stuff with dog stuff… I’m dead

- The bloody hook…

- He’s so camp, I love it

- The only conflict in my relationship with Hades would be that I don’t like dogs

- She’s looking for DANIEL

- I’m starting to find Rumple’s ‘coward face’ really funny

- Like he just looks so distressed 24/7

- Wow just flirting with another guy while your husband is out trying to KILL SOMEONE TO SAVE YOUR DYING SON

- Maybe don’t yell so loud if you’re trying to be discreet

I love this season so much! Zades is my favourite ship in the whole show, and I love Hades with all of my heart. I didn’t really like the destroy magic plot line but it was just the last two episodes. Hades and Zelena are so slay and I love them!

3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

I think "Prodigal Girl" is my favorite that I've written, but shortly followed by "To Catch A Swan". Both, funnily enough, are canon AU redos.

Of course now I'm thinking about an AU where Neal runs into Kali...

*shakes self* Anyway. I connect a lot with Neal and Kali and getting dig my hands into their original source material and do it MY WAY is very satisfying and I'm really proud of how well both fics have turned out and their response.

But it's also really hard to choose a favorite. All of my stories are my babies, you know?

ELIZA NEALS "Candy Store" my current heavy rotation single that I wrote is a follow up to the 'Top 15 Blues Songs of 2021' crowned by @SiriusXM#Bluesville " #SugarDaddy🍭" (co-written by the late songwriting legend Barrett Strong and myself.) Powerhouse #Blueswomen like #RuthBrown, #KokoTaylor and #EttaJames inspired "Candy Store." My previous singles " #LoveDrLove," " #PawnShopBlues," "Sugar Daddy" and "Candy Store" are supposed to be listened to in succession as a trilogy of short musical stories for my fans to laugh and dance to. On my 1937 Hardman baby grand piano, I began getting the feel, tempo and the bluesy groove to where it felt just right. The lyrics are what you would call "playing the dozens" in African American culture (which I have been exposed to extensively in Detroit,) but it's all in good fun. A tongue in cheek lyric with a blues groove that makes you dance was what I was going for when writing this song. I feel women who are taking back their independence from whomever could use a song that makes everyone laugh and it's ok to tell 'em 'the candy store is closed’." ANTIMUSIC: Hearing is believing. What It Wasn’t That It Isn’t - New Album!

New album!

So these tunes were started late 2018 early 2019. It took maybe 6 months to shape them into what they are now. Actually, lemme go check on that. I looked at the file dates and it looks like I started shaping these in early Feb 2023 so that's about 4-5 months. I have probably 100+ songs to shape up and finish so at this rate it's going to take me 4-5 years to where I am releasing songs I wrote within the past 6 months. I am getting better at making songwriting and production choices that make the process faster but change is glacial. Like I finally figured out that I need to carve out 100-150hz for the bass to be heard on the bluetooth speaker I use to check my mixes on. Usually that means I can hear it in my airpods which are not known for decent bass. Anyway, Let's move on. I finally got diagnosed with ADHD last year so if it's obvious to you that tangents can take me away from my original point then good for you for figuring it out wayyy before I did.

ok first song:

Living in a fantasy: This one goes hand in hand with another song on the album. I won't say which but they both have the same chords. I came up with a chord structure I love and tried it maybe 8 different ways. I kept working on each version until I ended up with 2 completely different sounding songs. I didn't make a conscious choice to make them different. I just kept following what it sounded like and seeing what my subconscious wanted to add to these songs. Even now when I hear them they do not sound like to my ears at all. The lesson here (and I am saying this to myself) is that you can completely steal from someone else and still make it your own. So don’t worry that someone else will notice. It’s not a ripoff if it’s coming from your nondecision making place.

I love the drums on this. That beat comes so naturally to me that I can play it reasonably in time with very very few edits to the drums. Unlike other beats where there’s a lot of chopping up to make it sound like a decent drummer is on the track. (I’m not a good drummer but boy do I love playing drums).

I spent a lot of time shaping these words to make sense. I usually hear a line in my head then lay it down and listen back. Often my first choices are so cringe. Like “will you be cool when I put up a fight” was originally “will you be cool or put up a fight” and that sounded super rapey. Then when I switched it to the narrator's point of view that was way more interesting since it’s a dude saying it. This song also was way longer. Keith tells me my songs are often too long so I chopped it down before I even sent it to him.

Also, I fucking HATE when dogs jump on me. That had just happened twice that week when I sang the line “keep that goddamn dog away from me”. It should have been cathartic but instead it's just kind of bringing me back to that awful powerless, unsafe feeling (I’m avoiding saying “Trauma” here because I dislike the overuse of the term in pop culture but this is the term my therapist uses and I think devalues its meaning). I often explore the bad feelings I have in my music. But I’m pretty sure that doesn’t make things feel better when they come up. But it’s better in that it’s out there and I can accept who I am a little more. And that’s a big chunk of what making music brings me is closer to self acceptance. I make what I make and I need to feel happy that I can make stuff and not feel bad that I can’t make stuff that appeals to more people or meets the standards I want to hit.

At the end of the song is a clip of my baby girl that I recorded as a drop for the how neal feel podcast which I sprinkled in I think one more time on the record.

2 tengo miedo - means “I’m scared” in spanish. And I do hate when people say “I’m not going to lie”. I get that it’s supposed to sound like they are being honest but really what I hear is “I usually lie but in this rare case I will tell the truth”. Also “tengo miedo” is more fun to sing than “im scared”. It’s hard to put some english (billiards term! And a pun!) on those syllables.

This song was not intentionally meant to sound like someone else’s song but by the time I was almost done I realized I kind of came really close to a famous indie rock song. I’m not gonna say which one. You’ll have to figure it out.

My baby girl sings on this one. In the last chorus she’s layered in with me.

Keith says I did a reggie and the full effect thing with the synths at the end. I dig some of the reggie ideas, never liked the sound. I was going for that Rentals/Blue Album B-side/I just threw out the love of my dreams kind of vibe. That’s how you do synths over fuzzy gtrs. The cars did it well too. Most every punk and indie band of the late 90s early 00s did it badly.

3 I dont care what theyve got on me: I recall this song coming together really quickly. Hearing all the parts as soon as the chords came out of fingers. The drums sound a little like samples to me but I swear they’re real. I have no idea how I got that snare sound. I must have tuned it in a unique way and changed mic placement. It’s all there on the track if you solo it.

I dunno why but writing about fraud and crime comes so easily sometimes. I love love love crime movies. Probably since Goodfellas had a huge impact on me as yoot.

Big homey Dov sent a voice recording to our whatsapp group and it’s at the end of this song cuz it made me laugh and I wanted to give you lay-down-in-the-dark headphone listeners some ear candy to discover.

4: I was watching a movie depicting an extremely stressful and lonely situation and it hit me: This is what my inner childhood body feels like. Alone, lost, no one to help, no one to protect me, no one I can trust. “There’s no hope, no love, no safety, no belonging.” Those lyrics just came out. There was no need to think about it. It was all there. In the pre-chorus I am saying “Coño” which if you google will say It’s used as a vulgar term for vagina. That is not how I know it or use it (or like it). I use it in the Miami way which you say when a bad situation presents itself. Kinda like, “son of a bitch” or “ain’t that a bitch” or “damn, bro!”. When I lived in Miami it would often get shortened to just “...ño” which, to you non speakers, you say with an extra Y sound on it like in “onion” so it’s more like “conyo” with a lot of accent on the “ny” the worse the situation is like a smashed big toe or shat pants or dropping your cortado on your brand new car seat covers.

5: round 3 with beth - I’m already running out of steam here writing these liner notes but I think I recorded the guitars and they felt like something I had done before so I chopped them up and came up with a new chord structure and rhythm. I then played them back over the new idea and layered them up. I’m about 60% sure of this but don’t feel like opening up the ableton session to see what really happened cuz as the saying goes “art is a lie that tells the truth”. I heard that quote this week and I like it.

6: pay me in guitars - I usually write music before melody and lyrics. This title came to me when I had to pick a file name to save what I had recorded. It’s a good title. I am saying “crack” the way Kurt does in Lithium with that weird A sound “Crayck”. That’s a nice lil nod to my teenage man crush.

The end was so hard to mix correctly. It was initially a crazy wall of sound that to me sounded awesome. I could hear all the melodic ideas in there. But when I took a break from it and came back weeks later it was just too much noise noise noise. So I cut most of that out and played up one of the 20 guitars I layered because I came up with some jazzy chords that sounded awesome. I don’t know what they are called but I know I’ve seen them used in Radiohead guitar tabs. You basically take the high octave and flatten by a half step. They’re sad and dissonant and sound best on not super distorted guitars

7: walts got a hernia - I think I stole these chords from a song my friend keith wrote. I realized they were a staple of pop punk and don’t think I’ve ever used them before. Also, for one brief moment there’s a riff in there that might be the same as maybe one of the biggest pop punk songs of all time. I only realized this way after the fact. Funny how the songs you love sneak their bits and bobs into the songs you make. I recorded all the guitars in one go. I had the session up on my computer (I usually have a song open at all times so that when I have to work I can indulge my ADHD and hit record and see if anything comes to me).

Story: IIRC Walt came over to hang out and made me touch his gorgeous man abs to see if the weird thing he was feeling was a hernia. After he left I went to the basement studio to probably check work email and instead hit record. All these words and vocals and melodies came out with zero forethought in one straight take…. As my favorite rappers say “off the dome”. And I can hear the difference in the melody and lyrics. It’s got spaces and fills and call backs I have never used consciously before.

I tried rerecording the vocals a few times but nothing ever came close to the natural laid back delivery I had the first time. I realized that what I had was actually cool. So it stayed and I made it work with some clever edits you can’t hear.

8 yesenia - I was listening/watching so much of the bodega boys when I wrote this. I was picturing Mero’s sassy Yesenia character and my desires to court the gorgeous and stop-your-clownin’ Dominican woman I imagined.

OK I’m all out of energy. I’ve been writing for an hour straight. The rest of the songs are all stuff I wrote for the How Neal Feel podcast. Why aren’t they all on their own release? Well I spent 2 fucking weeks prepping probably 80 fucking songs on 6 different albums (where I created unique artwork for each) I wrote for podcasts/commercials/shows that happen to be 30 seconds long or less.

So why didn’t they get released?

And now we get to modern tech platforms ruining art.

First: if a track isn’t 30 seconds or longer and you can’t get paid for a stream.

Second, they will not allow an album where the average song length is less than 60 seconds. So at the end of this record it had to go. I get why they have to do that but still. Fuck them. How about instead of a blanket policy you allow some carve outs for people not trying to scam the system by uploading 30 seconds of noise with the same song titles as other artists? I mean clearly this can be fixed if humans are incharge and not algos.

They would say, “there isn’t a single streaming platform that has ever turned a profit. Do you know the cost it would take to hire and train that many people?”.

I say fair point.

But then let me counter with: that’s cuz y’all made a shitty deal with the major labels when you set such low streaming rates that now kinda fucks all artists except the top 1%.

The whole system is screwed up and I get the economic realities the companies have to deal with. Hopefully AI can help automate some of this and a feller like me who makes music every day with an addiction like dedication can make a modest living from his art one day. “From my lips to gods ears” as my dad likes to say.

I honestly dream about waking up and having a solid 6-8 hours every day to make music in between bouts of building stuff, painting stuff, playing games and what not. And enough to live near a warm ocean with waves. I think I’d really like surfing. That would be just the greatest. So share this with people that might like it. The more listeners I get the more music I can put out and maybe one day this can be my full time job.

A year? How did she not remember that? The blonde savior was positively mortified; not only was she now in a diaper and felt like something had happened to her memories, but now she had just used it. "Sorry...daddy" she told David. But she still had questions. "Um, can't I use the potty?" she asked, just checking. "How old am I? And where's Neal?" Then the blonde started to grunt, her business not quite done yet.

(Regina, phone): "Anymore, does it even make a difference? It seems we can't go a week without one. Though I can gaurantee it wasn't Cora or Pan. Oh, I better go change a certain little one. Goodbye Snow"

David was concerned for his daughter ge placed his hand in her forehead to see if she had a fever, "You're not sick," David said to himself as he took his daughter's temperature. "Its ok baby you can call me what you want daddy just thought you were angry at me," David explained to his little angel. " Well no when the curse broke you lost your potty training and started acting like a baby infact you talking like you are now is great welcome back since you just baby babbled all last year." David replied to his daughter, "Your just a two year old or more like have the abilities of a two year old baby." David replied to her "Neal? you mean Baelfire his with his mommy and daddy as he got turned into s toddler too." David replied to his daughter.

(Snow on phone) Alright Mom tell Zelly and the other I said hello a6 thanks but am sure if we know what happens we can all rest in peace oh yeah Cora and pan ate gone but it could he something new or some one new anyway bye I have to go too."

"Alright little buddy I'll take you potty," Regina carried her second son to the potty, she pulled his pants and underwear down for him, "okay dear you let mommy know if you need help ok," Regina said to him.

(Emma on the phone) "I like him too. he funny i like the dear i wanna se Olaf maybe nana can make us an Olaf. that be pretty neat at cool.

White Collar season 04 x 06 Identity crisis

June acting as a plant to convince the competition to bid on worthless storage units, so Mozzie can pick up the valuable ones.

Peter- "And June's OK with this?"

Mozzie gestures at Neal.

Neal- "It was probably her idea."

Mozzie telling Neal about the shadow puppet show he made about his parents when he was eight. Neal watches the show and console Mozzie when he speaks of how his birth parents didn't want him.

Jones's deadpan delivery when the suspect asks which of the Culper spies was his ancestor - "Thomas Jefferson."

04 x 07 Compromising position is hilarious.

When Neal asks why he's not allowed to testify for a case and Peter is.

Jones- "Because he doesn't have a dark and sorid past as a conman."

Diana - "And an on-again, off-again relationship with the truth."

Neal - "I'll go sharpen some pencils."

Peter when Neal says testifying is a two-man con - "Go sharpen some pencils."

Mozzie using a fake baby to get information on a car rental and break into a vehicle.

Mozzie- "The mayor never returns my calls now."

Peter- "Where did you come from?"

Mozzie- "45 years ago a paradox and an enigma had a very special hug."

Neal comes with an idea to have Peter and Sara fake compromising photos. After Neal and Peter agree to tell Sara and Elizabeth together ..

Peter "I want to start by saying this was Neal's idea."

Neal - "That Peter supports a hundred percent. "

Peter and Sara being completely awkward about the whole thing. Elizabeth and Neal giving directions. Elizabeth basically telling Peter show her what you've got.

Neal- "Romance novel cover right there."

Self-promo Sunday Reception Redos and Jellymoons - Chapter 3

Here is chapter 3/5 of the story I wrote in 2019. This chapter is nothing but sweetness and fluff, and you still won’t find out where they’re going on their ‘Jellymoon’, so hang in there until next week!

Thanks to those of you who sent caring thoughts and prayers for my son. He had surgery to repair his fractured vertebrae and spent 4 days in the trauma unit of the hospital before coming home mid-week. He has a long recovery ahead of him, but is doing well.

Despite how late they had gotten to sleep, Emma & Killian were up by mid-morning. While Killian made a light breakfast for them, Emma called Henry and her parents to tell them what time they were planning on leaving.

“They want to see us off, so you’re gonna have to tell me where we’re leaving from,” Emma said smugly.

“They know where we’ll be,” Killian answered with a smirk of his own, as he watched his wife’s brow furrow.

“Seriously? You tell everyone else, but you won’t tell me?” Emma pouted.

“Just trust me, Swan.”

Twenty minutes later, their luggage was loaded into the VW and Killian was behind the wheel to drive them to their place of departure. Emma grinned with satisfaction when she realized that he was indeed headed to the docks. Her parents, baby brother, and Henry were already waiting for them when they pulled into a parking spot beside David’s truck.

Before they exited the car, Emma turned to her husband. “I had a feeling that we would be sailing off on the Jolly Roger.”

“Aye, that we are. The real secret is where we’ll be going, though.”

David and Henry walked to the front of the car and started unloading their suitcases. Killian joined them, and Emma left them to their work as she walked over to her mother.

Mary Margaret handed Neal over to Emma who squeezed him tightly and kissed his chubby cheek. “Hey, Buddy. Are you gonna miss your big sister and brother-in-law?”

Neal blew a loud, sloppy raspberry and Emma chuckled. “I’ll take that as a yes. I’m gonna miss you too. Now don’t do too much growing while we’re gone, ok?” She kissed him one more time, and then passed him back to their mother.

Snow reached with her free arm to wrap Emma in a hug. “I’m going to miss both of you too, but I’m so happy that you’re going to have this time together. After all you’ve been through, you really deserve to get away.”

“Yeah, I know. I just wish I knew where we were going.”

“You’re going to love it, Sweetheart. Killian is so proud of what he has planned. Just try to relax and enjoy the surprise.” She released her daughter and backed up a step so she could look her in the eyes. “It will be worth the anticipation, I promise.”

Emma sighed. “If you say so. I guess I’ll find out really soon, anyway.”

She turned to see her father and son coming back down the gangplank. Apparently they had already transferred their luggage onto the ship. David reached her first and pulled her into a hug, cradling the back of her head.

“Have a great time, and don’t worry about what’s going on around here. We’ll handle anything that comes up,” he whispered.

“I’ll try not to. Thanks for taking Henry for the last week.”

He pulled away and grasped her upper arms. “We’re really looking forward to it. He’s growing up so fast and we just don’t spend enough time with him anymore.”

“Tell me about it. I almost hate to leave him because I’m afraid he’ll be three inches taller than me by the time we get back.”

David laughed and gave her a kiss on the forehead. “I doubt that. Safe travels and have fun. I love you.”

“Love you too, Dad.”

Before moving on to bid farewell to her son, Emma saw that Killian had disembarked from the ship and was making funny faces at Neal. She smiled softly at his antics, then turned and strode over to where Henry was double checking the VW to make sure they had gotten everything out of it.

“So are you all ready for your trip?” she asked, though she already knew that he was.

Henry grinned. “Yeah, I’m pretty excited. I’ve never left Storybrooke for a real vacation. Maybe next year, you, me and Killian can travel somewhere together.”

“That sounds great, but we’ll see how things go on these trips first. I’m still a little leary about leaving Storybrooke for so long.”

Henry stepped closer and hugged his mom. “It’s gonna be fine. Just try to relax and enjoy it. Killian has put a lot of work and thought into this trip and you don’t wanna ruin it by worrying about things back here the whole time.”

Emma sighed. “I know, Kid. I just wish there was a way to communicate with you. Three weeks seems like an eternity to not talk to you at all.”

Henry pulled back and gave her a sly smile. “Oh, you never know.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Emma asked, looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Swan, are you nearly ready to go? I’d like to get out on the open sea by early afternoon,” Killian stated as he walked over to his wife and stepson.

Emma continued to look at Henry, waiting for an explanation.

“Never mind, Mom. Just go and have a great time.”

Killian pulled Henry into a hug, telling him to behave himself and to make sure his Aunt Zelena did too. Then he allowed Emma to give her son one more hug before he took her hand to lead her up the gangplank to the Jolly Roger.

As her husband expertly maneuvered his ship out of the Storybrooke harbor, Emma leaned on the railing at the front. She was still trying to take everyone’s advice to relax, but years of being on constant alert made it difficult. The gentle waves rocked the Jolly in a soothing way and Emma closed her eyes and turned her face to the warmth of the sun.

Once Killian had the ship clear of any potential obstacles, he focused his attention on the beautiful figure in front of him. He knew that Emma was struggling to let go of her anxieties, and he truly hoped that she would be able to do so soon.

They sailed on for almost half an hour before Emma finally turned and made her way back to the ship’s helm. Killian had taken her out on the sea many times, so although the ship was rocking as it moved across the waves, she was able to walk surely and steadily.

Killian let go with his right hand and allowed his wife to step between himself and the wheel. She leaned back against him, placing her hands over his on the handles. He brushed a kiss against her temple, then rested his cheek on top of her sun-warmed head. No words were spoken as they traveled on until there was nothing but open water in front of them.

“Are you hungry, Love?” Killian asked, his voice rumbling against Emma’s back.

“Did you pack something to eat?”

Killian chuckled. “Oh, we’ve got plenty of food in the hold. We’re not really going to be close to a store where we’re going.”

Emma whirled around. “Seriously? Are we gonna be out in the wilderness somewhere? Because as much as I like watching “Survivor”, I really don’t wanna do that on my honeymoon!”

“Would you just trust me already, Swan?” Killian said with another laugh. “I’m not going to make you build a fire and live in a cave. We are, however, going to be in a secluded place, and will have limited contact with anyone else. I hope that you’ll be able to withstand being with only your husband for the better part of three weeks.”

“That actually sounds really nice. And to answer your original question, I am getting pretty hungry.”

Killian nodded, checked his compass to make sure they were headed in the exact right direction, and tied off the ship’s wheel to hold the course. Then he turned and rummaged through a wooden chest behind him until he emerged with a blanket.

“Lay this out on the deck and I’ll be right back,” he instructed, before disappearing below.

As soon as Emma had the blanket straightened out, her husband reappeared with a honest-to-goodness wicker picnic basket. He set it down on the blanket and settled himself beside her, then flipped both sides of the lid open.

Emma peered into the basket to see wrapped sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, and bottles of water. “This looks really good, Babe. Did you pack it yourself?”

Killian reached into the basket and took out the sandwiches, handing one to his wife before answering. “No, your mother is responsible for this. She knew that I’ve had a lot of details to take care of in the past couple of weeks, so she volunteered to pack our meals for this first day.”

“You’ve got her wrapped right around your hook, you know that?” Emma giggled.

“Well, I tend to have that effect on people,” Killian smirked.

They sailed on for the rest of the day, finally dropping anchor when the sky started to turn into shades of purple and pink. After admiring the sunset together, they lay on their backs on the blanket and looked at the stars.

“It’s so peaceful out here,” Emma observed. “And even though the Storybrooke lights don’t really obscure the stars, there’s nothing like seeing them out here on the open water.”

“Aye, it’s a sight that I never tire of,” agreed Killian. “I think the only sight that I love more is that of my lovely wife.”

“You’re so corny.”

“And I’m all yours.”

“You’d better believe it, Buddy.”

They gazed at the sky until they both started to doze off. “Swan, we’d best go below and get into bed. It’s not going to do either of our backs any good to sleep on this wooden deck.”

Emma yawned and sat up. “Yeah, you’re right. Especially for a three-hundred-year-old back like yours.” She jumped to her feet and danced across the deck to escape her husband’s hook as he reached out to grab her. He chased her toward the doorway that led down to the cabin, catching her just as she got to the opening. He used his body to pin her to the door as he tickled her on her left rib cage, right where he knew she was the most ticklish.

“K-K-Killian! S-stop!” she gasped out.

He immediately pulled his hand away but continued to lean against her, grinning widely. “I think that I need to show you just how strong this three-hundred-year-old pirate’s back still is, my love.” He guided her to the ladder leading down to the cabin, and proceeded to show her for the next couple of hours.

“So are we going to sail all day again today?” Emma questioned after they had enjoyed some breakfast the next morning.

Killian leaned back on the wooden chair on which he was sitting and reached up on the shelf to his right. He pulled his hand back, clutching a small, blue pouch.

“We still have a little sailing to do, but we will reach our destination later this morning.”

Emma looked at the pouch with curiosity, but knowing that asking what was in it was probably going to be answered with “wait and see”, she decided to do just that.

They emerged on deck to a beautiful, calm morning. There was a slight chill in the air and Emma shivered. Her ever-observant husband noticed and pulled another blanket out of the wooden chest to wrap around her.

“Don’t worry, Love. It will be much warmer where we’re going.”

Emma cocked her head at him. “But if we’re not sailing for very long today, how are we going to end up in such a warm place?”

Killian ducked his head and looked up at her from under his eyelashes, knowing that when he looked at her like that, it made her weak in the knees. “Must I tell you again to trust me, Swan?” Then he set about raising the anchor and adjusting the sails.

When he finally had everything situated to his satisfaction, he returned to Emma’s side and handed her the blue pouch. She tugged it open and poured the contents into her palm. Half a dozen crystal beans fell out and she looked up at him with a smile.

“I forgot that Anton gave these to us as a wedding gift,” Emma said.

“Aye, he’s got quite the crop growing, and they’re in high demand.” Killian plucked one of the beans out of her hand. She deposited the rest of them back into the pouch and pulled the strings to close it. He traded the bean in his hand for the small bag and tucked it into his pocket. Then he turned and headed toward the helm.

“Go to the front of the ship and throw the bean as far as you can off the starboard side,” he directed.

“Why can’t I just throw it straight ahead?”

“Because the ship will reach the portal too soon and I won’t be able to keep it under control as well,” Killian explained. “If you throw it off to the side, it gives me time to turn the ship and slow it down a bit.”

Emma nodded her understanding and then went to the front and threw the bean as she’d been instructed. Killian gestured for her to join him at the wheel, and the two of them braced themselves as the Jolly Roger dipped down to enter the portal.

I’ll be posting the final 2 chapters on the next 2 Sundays. I don’t know if my new MC story “For the Sake of Henry” will be ready to start posting after that or not. My son’s accident has thrown off my writing schedule a bit. Thank you for patiently waiting!

DEBUNKING A STUPID OLD ARTICLE

Or better known as 20 Biased Things This "Author" has made up to hate on CaptainSwan

So this stupid fan submitted drivel circles the fandom every so often and I thought it might be fun to pick it a part bit by bit. Because after all, that is what I do! Below is why I disagree with everything they say.

Claim 1: Hook Doesn’t Deserve a Happily Ever After

The article acknowledges, correctly, that Regina does not deserve a happy ending either. I agree. Neither deserve it.

But which one of them earned it?

Killian Jones earned it because, unlike Regina, he didn’t expect it. He didn’t try to re-write history. He showed remorse for what he’d done and apologized to at least some of his victims - something Regina did not do until she magically drained some of the evil from her heart. And he sacrificed his life for the greater good, was tortured and doomed to death but still kept fighting to help Emma and the others.

So no, maybe Hook doesn’t DESERVE a happy ending but he sure as hell earned it. And you know who does deserve a happy ending? Emma Swan. And Killian Jones was a huge part of her happy ending.

Claim 2: Their trip to the past should have changed everything.

“We get that writers wanted Emma to demonstrate a closeness to her parents that she'd never known through this timeline circuit, but it just doesn't work for fans”.

What fans? Because amongst the general audience and the CaptainSwan crowd... its the best two hours of the series.

Yes, their adventure probably should have changed things but this is not an uncommon plot in fiction.

And really, how is it a point against Hook and Emma's relationship? OK you didn't like the plot of an episode so CaptainSwan shouldn't have happened? I am not following the logic here...

Claim 3: Hook is a Hundred of Years Older than Emma

They use a picture of Fook here who is not over 100 years old, first off, and secondly who cares?

I’m guessing the 30 year difference between Emma & Regina are fine? How about Rumbelle? Or the 135ish age difference between Emma & Neal?

The age difference is the least of anyone’s worries especially when Killian looks the same age as Emma and since Emma was an adult when they met.

In fact, the age difference is a part of what makes their relationship fun. She even teases him about it.

Also one thing I love about their age difference is that it lends to the idea that Hook survived this long to find his true love. So that Emma could find true love. It's destiny.

Claim 4: Emma abusively interrogated Hook in the hospital

Who is this? a HookedQueen stan?

“We'd never seen Emma physically harm someone for information before.”

She threatened Gold once… She shoved Regina up against a wall & demanded answers. She held a knife to Regina’s throat. I think someone is cherry picking.

 Never mind that this was before they were together. Rivals to lovers, anyone? I won’t even call them enemies. Killian’s enemy was Gold, not Emma.

From a CSers perspective: I thought it was funny. They weren't together and he was still a villain.

Claim 5: They’re on Opposite Paths

“As mentioned above, some fans think that Emma became the Dark One in order to catch up to Hook in the evildoer department, but there were many instances where she exhibited villainous tendencies far from Rumpelstiltskin's famous dagger.

This whole passage is rife with … falsehoods and nothing to back them up with.

1. What fans? The Regina Mills stans? Because the CaptainSwan fans RIGHTLY call it for what it is: Trying to lower Emma Swan to Regina's level which has happened with every other character! It is not Killian they're trying to "catch her up to". It is Regina. And someone higher up thankfully stopped them as evident with Killian suddenly becoming the Dark One. If you think that was planned then you're fooling yourself.

Instances of the show trying to bring everyone down to Regina's level:

Snowing's baby snatching

Snow defending the town against Regina's mother but it being labeled as murder

Killian suddenly having killed his own father, like Regina killed hers, and David's father as Regina killed Snow's.

Emma being vilified for saving Marian because it ruined Regina's relationship

2. This article just said the only times she shows villainy is when she tortures Hook but now all of the sudden she’s shown many instances of villainy? You can’t have both!

"Technically, Hook went back and forth between light and dark for a while, some of it not by his own choice, and Emma's darkness manifested in several different ways, so maybe they'll be able to save their relationship by chalking it up to "personal growth" rather than "irreconcilable differences.””

3. Yes, Hook stumbled upon his journey but at least he admitted his wrongs and never claimed to be a hero. But “irreconcilable differences”? S4 he was being controlled by Gold & wouldn’t have chosen that path. In s5 he was being controlled by the darkness & would have not chosen that path.

This journalist also claims that Emma & Hook do not have any shared goals. Since the very ending of S2, their goals have lined up: protect Henry, save Storybrooke and be together.

Opposites do attract. Emma and Killian are prime example of light and dark coming together.

Side grumble: I expect this person also wrote an article about how Rumple and Belle were on different paths and could never really make sense or have a long lasting relationship? She wanted him to let go of the darkness while he did not want to.

Claim 6: Emma Betrayed Hook in the Giant’s Realm

Not really sure why this is a big deal.

1. They weren't together

2. She didn't trust her instincts

3. She didn't leave him to die

Emma also sacrificed the lost boys, despite Snow’s protests, to get to Henry. Henry DOES come first. Despite what this article tries to say later on.

The bigger argument here would be... he left her to rot in a cell but since this seems to be slanted toward "Emma bad" I am thinking this was written by a HookedQueen stan. Am I wrong? I don't know.

P.S. Killian felt betrayed by Emma so it's understandable why he'd leave her. He had no loyalty to her at that point. Also. Still a villain.

Claim 7: Irreconcilable Differences

"It's one thing to have parents with healthy different perspectives; it's another when your mom is basically the Harry Potter of Storybrooke and your stepdad is into justice Voldemort-style."

So basically the author doesn’t acknowledge that Killian Jones gave up his thirst for revenge? Perhaps they should re-watch that S6 episode with David?

Emma & Hook are pretty much on the same path from 3x01 onward. In season three they unite to find Henry. Killian finds that he's found a purpose again thanks to Emma's leadership and once again discovers the man he wants to be which puts him onto the path of hero. Emma is a hero. They are both heroes.

Where is the differences? Never mind that they have being abandoned by parents in common. Also, they both wanted to belong but were too use to running until someone reached out to them; Henry to Emma and Emma to Hook.

Claim 8: Hook Gave up his Ship for Emma

“What's the number one rule in love? You put your loved one's happiness first, which even means letting them go if it comes to that. Had she known what the cost might be, would she have demanded the gesture?

We'll never know, but we do know that loving someone means never asking them to give up what truly makes them happy, whether it's a jalopy in the driveway or on the sea.”

This is a word salad that means jack crap.

Emma never asked him to because she didn’t need to. He wanted to.

Never mind that she never requires him to give up sailing. He still has his ship. And he gets to be with Emma. He gave up pirating because he wanted to be a better man. His love for Emma inspired him to better himself.

How the hell is that a negative? It isn't unless you're just grasping at straws.

Killian Jones giving up his ship for Emma was a grand gesture of love and selflessness. A gesture he didn't tell Emma until she asked which is so significant. Remember when he said he would win her heart not because of any trickery but because she wanted him? He had several chances to do so but he waited. He didn't use that gesture to sway her opinion of him. He let her find her way to him on her own.

Claim 9: Hook Shot Belle

So apparently because he wasn't punished for shooting Belle and because Belle should have had long lasting issues from being shot...

Hook and Emma make no sense together.

Did I get that right?

Hook doesn't consider himself forgiven.

I'd pay more attention to this if:

1) It were Henry, Snow, or David. Yes, it was still wrong but this does not effect Emma. He did not shoot Belle to hurt Emma. 2) He hadn't still been a villain. 3) He'd never apologized or shown remorse which he has and he did.

Emma acknowledges that he was a villain, knows he is working to change that and has committed to seeing the good in him. And despite what this article wishes, there is good in Killian Jones.

Also he received instant karma by being run over then spent some time handcuffed to a bed and force fed jello? I mean, yes, in a perfect fictional world, he might have spent some time in jail for that. But since this is fiction and since we did see him sacrifice his life later on and show remorse over this… I am much more forgiving.

Apparently this is because "Emma is the sheriff and she should arrest him" well... Emma let Regina walk free in Season 2. She let Gold continue to be a part of the town despite the numerous times he stabbed them in back, tried to destroy their lives or left them for dead. So why harp on this? The only reason to is because you're anti-CaptainSwan.

Perhaps this is more anti-OUAT? Which, honestly, that's fine. But don't call out one ship when it's an issue for the entire show. And I have never claimed that OUAT is a good show. It isn't.

Claim 10: Emma is Emotionally Distant from Hook

This is just BS.

1. She only opens up to him. (S3 finale she does so on the bench & right before she gets the wand to work, when she watches her childhood videos, talked with him about her parents betrayal and her fear of the future)

2. Cried over losing him.

3. She risked her heart, soul and her life to save him. You don't go to such lengths for someone you're emotionally distance with.

She had her walls at first but they were mostly down by Season 6. The truth is that Emma had a tendency to try and deal with things on her own because she was afraid of losing those she loves. I think she felt like she needed to try and control the situation herself as much as she could.

Sometimes I don't think people understood who Emma Swan was.

Claim 11: No authentic development or dialog

So because they don't discuss whose doing laundry... they aren't believable as a couple?

Mmmmmm. Ok.

How about movie nights? Pancakes anyone?

Being an ensemble show it's really hard to show domestic scenes between couples when you have so many other story lines to jam into a 45 minute run.

CaptainSwan doesn't just have flirty dialog. They have much more meaningful dialog than discussing laundry.

Take the above for example. This is the first time Emma has someone standing in front of her telling her that she comes first. She has never had anyone put her first.

Other meaningful conversations:

1) Story time in S6 when Killian is trying to help her remember who she is and how she is going to defeat the evil queen. 2) The way he helps her forgive her parents in S4 3) The way she talks to him in S4 about seeing the man he's become 4) When he encourages her about her magic

And sometimes actions speak louder than words.

1) He followed her into Neverland - a place he hated and feared that held so many bad memories 2) He followed her through the portal into what could have been death 3) She risked her heart and soul for their future in S5 on several occasions. When she took the darkness to make him a DO and save his life, when she crossed the river of lost souls to reach him and when she put her heart to the test. 4) He went up against Zelena in S5 to help her and against Rumple in S6 to buy her time so she could defeat The Dark Fairy. To people far more powerful than him. 5) She joined forces with Gideon and Rumple in S6 to try and get him back. Risking her life.

Claim 12: They have too much Teen Drama

So they claim that Emma can't move beyond her past to have a future with Hook but ... how does this make sense when she goes to hell and fights to bring him home so that she can have that future with him? Why does she ask him to move in with her? Because she IS overcoming her past and her fears. It's not happening overnight. It was a 6 year long process.

Geez.

But apparently the "teen drama" includes being human. Please name me a couple in history that haven't lied to each other? About something? Also tricked? Not sure when that comes into play unless we're talking about Dark CaptainSwan.

Claim 13: Zeus Breaks the Laws of Magic to get them back together

"Randomly breaking the laws of magic via a Greek god in order to keep "Captain Swan" together is ridiculous and even their supporters are not having it."

I'm sorry... there's a CaptainSwan fan out there that doesn't love the fact that Emma and Hook WERE ORDAINED BY A GREEK GOD!? Who? Where? When?

This article is so biased... like who have they been talking to?

Anyways, lets answer the question. Why do Hook and Emma deserve special magic defying treatment?

Because they are true love & he just helped them defeat Hades.

Try paying attention.

After the pain and torment of nearly losing each other forever, that reunion induces such a state of euphoria. If you're a CaptainSwan fan, that is. That they were indeed going to get their happy ending. And it just raises their level of epicness. Not only did they pass a true love's test but now a Greek god basically said "these two kids belong together" and made it happened. What more of a sign do you need?

Side grumble: This must be an OutlawQueen stan. They're mad that Regina's handbag was turned to dust with no hope of returning. Robin was seriously a useless prop. His entire existence was for Regina's angst or happiness. He didn't have side stories. He didn't really have a back story. He mostly only interacted with Regina. Why would Robin be more deserving? He just abandoned his children to his rapist & a murderer and his girlfriend who murdered his first wife and killed thousands? His only existence was for Regina’s happiness or angst.

Claim 14: Hook Was Going To Take Out Emma's Whole Family

This passage was so unclear…

Is this about Season 2? Season 2 finale was more about Regina taking out Emma’s entire family… but I somehow think Regina's presence at the Thanksgiving table isn't questionable whereas Hook's is? Yes, he stole the bean to save his own neck. But he did come back then risked his neck and his ship/home to save Henry. He'd spent decades trying to leave Neverland but he didn't even hesitate to return knowing he'd have to face Pan again. Pan. A villain he says is the most treacherous villain he has ever faced.

And if we're talking about Season 5... that was Dark Hook. Killian never would have done that. It was the darkness inside him fueling it. Huge difference.

Anyways, if we're to follow this logic then I expect there's a scathing article about the other guests at the Season 6 dinner scene? Why is Rumple allowed to sit with them? Why is Regina? She tried to murder Emma and her entire family on multiple occasions and she wasn't consumed by darkness nor did she ever show remorse. Hook at least showed guilt over his weakness at being unable, at first, to resist the darkness. Regina never did. And Rumple openly says he chooses himself and his power every time.

Claim 15: Emma Didn't Listen To Hook About Marian

Emma is a savior. She says that she couldn't leave Marian behind to get killed. Which Hook even agrees with! He says she made the noble choice and then he cautions her.... but ultimately he helps her get Marian back and even delights in Emma having a bit of a pirate in her when she knocks Marian out!

But this gets blown into "well she didn't listen to him here so she isn't going to listen to him about children.. oh and Emma is the reason Robin is dead"

Excuse me? So it's Emma's fault for saving a life but not Regina's for false imprisonment and even murder? No. try again. Marian would not have been in that cell if not for Regina murdering innocent people.

Also lets not act like Emma never listens to Hook at all. She does.

Claim 16: He's A Pirate, She's The Savior

“This is particularly true when we consider how he's never been prosecuted for any of his past crimes, let alone his current attempts on several of their lives.”

Oh but its OK for Rumbelle and OutlawQueen? Except Killian did sacrifice his life… and while Gold did too, it didn’t stick. The only one who hasn’t sacrificed anything is Regina. I will be expecting an article on how "Emma & Snow’s Friendship with Regina Makes No Sense" next.

Also what current attempts? The only attempt he has made on their lives was Dark Hook and you can't say he wasn't prosecuted. He sacrificed his life! He was consumed by darkness and he gave up his life to stop the dark ones forever.

That is so disingenuous it's unbelievable.

Hook never tried to kill all of them. Regina did. Rumple did. Hook was only ever trying to kill Rumple who is even more evil than Hook is so you'll have to excuse me if I don't care.

Claim 17: Emma Let Henry Live With Regina So She Could Shack Up With Hook

This never happened…

Henry has been living with Emma since S3. We see him at Regina's more during S5 but that is because everyone turned their back on her ... everyone but Killian Jones that is.

But we see that Henry is living with Emma and Hook in S6. He is there for breakfast (the scene where Killian says he's gonna cook them a meal). He is there when Killian is pushed through a portal by Gideon. And the night before Emma & Killian's wedding we see Henry going upstairs to his room.

You know which mother kicked Henry out of the house over a man? Regina. 4x02.

Claim 18: Emma Transformed Hook Into A Dark One Against His Wishes

Yes, yes she did. And she admitted it was a mistake. But they were able to move past it. Their love overcame it.

Honestly out of all the opinions made in this article I would respect this one the most. I get that people, who do not understand Emma, hating what Emma did there. I get it. It was wrong. And she nearly paid a big price for that mistake.

 But why is that harder to accept than Snow White befriending the woman who destroyed her life, murdered her father, tried to murder her baby and forced her to give her child up?

Honestly I think this is more about "why OUAT doesn't make sense" than "CaptainSwan doesn't make sense" because a lot of this can be pointed at other characters and relationships too.

Claim 19: Emma Forgot All About Neal For Hook

Oh maybe this was a Swanfire fan!?

"the supposed love of her life who was only afforded a few brief years of happiness in his complicated, painful life."

So we're going to ignore his abandonment and sending her to prison for his crimes? And whoever said he was the love of her life? She was young. He was the first person that came along that made her feel like she belonged and let her believe they could be a family. But then at the first test he let fear of his past override everything and he ran.

Why shouldn’t she forget Neal? He didn't believe in her super powers. He laughed at her pain. He found a fiance instead of returning for her and only when it was convenient for him did he pursue her again in S3.

Claim 20: Emma Put Hook Before Henry

“Remember back when Emma believed that Hook would be a terrible influence on Henry? “

When? She called on him to babysit? She told Regina that she trusted him.

 “Just taking Henry to the Underworld in the first place is Mommy No-No #1.”

I do wish they’d left the deleted scene in there where Henry threatens that he’ll find a way to come along. But I don't consider this as putting Killian before Henry. I consider it a mistake - one Emma owns. But does Emma own that mistake all by herself?

They went to the Underworld to right a wrong. Killian had given up his life to destroy the darkness but Rumple had, once again, betrayed them all. So essentially Killian ended up dying for nothing.

Besides, are we going to say that Robin, Regina Snow and David also put Killian before Henry? Why would they do that?

Robin should not have gone either since he had two children depending on him. Snow and David should not have gone either because of their baby. Regina should have put her foot down too when it came to Henry.

But they all made that choice. Love is worth fighting for and that ultimately is what led them down to the Underbrooke.

Emma putting Killian before Henry would be her staying in Underbrooke to be with Killian. Also when it came down to choosing between Deckhand Hook and Henry... Emma chose Henry.

And in my opinion it is Regina that puts her happiness head of Henry repeatedly. She chose her curse over his mental well being. She tried to murder all of his loved ones despite what he would feel so that he would only be hers. Regina is the one that pushed Henry away in 4x02 over her broken heart and risked staying in the Wish Realm forever to chase a fake version of Robin. Never mind that time that she set Henry up to spy on the Dark One to get her happy ending.

Conclusion:

Once Upon a Time's writing is rubbish. But CaptainSwan is the one thing the show got right. You want to ask me about what relationships do not make sense?

Snow befriending Regina after all that Regina did to her. Especially since Regina couldn't show remorse until it was her serumEQ half and only after some of her wickedness was drained out. There is no reason the Charmings ever should have trusted her.

Regina and Emma's friendship. Regina spent two seasons trying to murder her and corrupt her relationship with Henry. Regina then spends the rest of the seasons belittling Emma's ideas, questioning her leadership and just being a bully. I mean there's a whole list of things here.

Belle falling in love with Rumple. A man who enslaved her and who would never give up his dark powers and embrace the good she supposedly saw in him. He used her life like a pawn to get his own happiness. It's kind of sick.

Wish Henry calling Regina mother when she murdered his grandparents and called it a mistake and took the only mother he ever knew away from him.

Zelena and Hades. Like I don't even know where to begin there.
