Once Upon a Time season 6B thoughts
I’m rewatching OUAT and I wanted to share some of my opinions on each season!
- Ooh Ruth pulling the knife
- I was wondering for a second where snow was
- I forgot she was cursed
- Dad???

- Omg the coin

- Robin coming back is so stupid I can’t believe it

- The ring is not that fabulous though

- I don’t even care that they’re kissing this is just stupid

- At a time when Regina had Henry and was friends with the Charmings and Zelena had no one
- And Regina even BLAMES her for Robin’s death
- Robin had it coming but that’s another thing
- Snow’s date with Whale…

- That was so unwarranted
- Maybe if you guys weren’t so awful to Zelena then she wouldn’t fall into those traps
- That is so selfless to give up her magic to help everyone
- She is amazing

- I know a lot of people don’t like it but I think it makes so much sense for this show to have a musical episode
- Like the Disney movies are musicals
- And the songs slap

- Everyone is amazing but josh dallas has a great voice

- I’m not a Regina fan but I have to admit she slayed
- Lana did a great job

How I feel about the characters this season
Love: Zelena, Emma, Hook
Like: Rumple, Belle, David, Jasmine, Ariel
Neutral: Henry, Snow, Gideon, Fiona (she’s camp idk), Aladdin, Regina
Dislike:

I honestly can’t hate anyone this season
Season rating: 9/10
Not my favourite season but actually a really solid ending to an amazing show. Some of it was dumb but a lot of it was awesome. I loved the musical episode and the finale! Tbh it should have ended here.

Emma swan
How I feel about this character: I really liked her, she was definetely my favourite. But honestly it's been eons since I watched so it's all very distant.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Neal.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: idek anymore lol. I did enjoy her dynamic with Regina while I was watching. With her parents too.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I wish Hook had never breathed her way.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: see above.

I know she's an evil Queen but like...Storybrooke had zero poverty...zero homelessness....zero crime....no substance abuse. Like, the dragon under the library was just chilling there. The biggest menace to society was the town drunk who'd occasionally just sleep it off in the drunk tank. For a cursed populace they had it kind of good.

I am absolutely in awe of the DETAIL in this show and I can't get over this one..
Emma's Tattoo is the forget me not flower...
Which is the flower on her fathers crest...
The flower traditionally represents remembrance (poignant since Snow and Charming were cursed and couldn't remember Emma) and also royalty which they are (I will get to the true love bit in a moment)...
So forget me nots are mentioned in Peter Pan when describing Captain Hooks eyes...
And Killian Jones in the show has a ring with forget me nots on it...
Also is it or is it not a big clue that the episode where we see the tattoo on Emma's wrist very clearly on show is in the episode 'Talahassee' aka where she first connects with Hook?
(we see it in glimpses before but not as clear and on show as this episode)
The forget me not also represents true love and devotion...

cs is incredible because killian is absolutely devoted to emma and that is exactly what she needed in a partner
killian is someone who's emotions fluctuate in extremes and is inclined to channel that to love and devotion.
i think that is a perfect match to emma who's abandonment issues are a core personality trait. on top of that, killian understands abandonment in itself as someone who's suffered it too.
they match each other and click so well with that sort of understanding like. they're sooo made for each other

- Regina & co are actually so awful to Zelena about this whole baby thing
- Like I get that it’s Robin’s baby but it’s hers too
- And I’m pretty sure being away from the mother is bad for a baby’s development
- Like at least let her visit with supervision
- I guess when you become the dark one you immediately know how to use magic
- Ok I guess they are letting her see her baby
- SHE CAME TO THE WELL

- Was not expecting the break up part 2 :(

- How is she pregnant in 5b though???
- They must get together by the end of 5a

- That’s actually so vile to send her away so she literally CANNOT SEE HER BABY

- Rip (until he gets resurrected)
- Belle didn’t leave!
- THEY’RE KISSING

- And the baby was conceived ;)
- Rumple being the dark one again, kinda slay
- Kind of bad for his redemption arc though
- “I will always find you” we love a good iconic line
- I am so excited to see Hades!!! Love of my life (and death)
How I feel about the characters this season
Love: RUMPLE (10/10 character development), Belle, Zelena, Dr Whale, Merida
Like: Emma, Hook, Mulan, Ruby, Nimue (idk she’s kinda cool)
Neutral: Snow, David, Merlin, Guinevere, Henry
Dislike: Regina, Robin
Hate: Arthur
Season rating: 6/10
Firstly, I HATE ARTHUR AND I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL HE’S DEAD. I don’t care for the Camelot arc, but I do like dark Emma and Rumple got some really good character development (even though he went back to being the dark one). I also like Merida and it was nice to see Ruby, Dr Whale, and Mulan again. Gets an extra 0.5 for setting up my absolute favourite arc in the show (the underworld)

Emma swan or Mary stuart
Emma is more to my liking, but Mary & her show, which -unlike ouat!- I actually watched all the way through, brought me a lot more joy (admittedly with some disappointments).
and Mary was never trapped in a romance I found as deeply unbearable even when it was a mere idea as I did with Emma & Hook so. there's that.

I know we always talk about Killian & his PTSD (especially after the Underworld arc) BUT. we never talk about Emma's so here I am to rectify that
you ever think about how terrified she must have been that none of it was real, that she was living false memories ?? I mean, think about it.
she had the false memories Regina gave her (s3), the knowledge in Isaac's book (s4) (she didnt have false memories but she knew others do & how that world functioned), the mind games with the darkness (s5), the wish realm memories & then the cursed memories (s6). and not to mention all the visions & nightmares she was shown to have.
my point is - after s6, she should have NO grip on reality and what's true anymore. fearing that any moment she would wake up & her entire life would be a lie - fabricated by a villain intent on keeping her complacent.
and because to me, CS is the heart of the show, I have to mention it
she would turn INCREDIBLY clingy w/ killian, needing constant, constant physical affirmation that he's there & that he's real. getting paranoid if she wakes up & he isn't there - even if he's just in the bathroom or getting water, or just woke up before her. feeling anxious that something is wrong if they're not together for more than a few hours. quite literally glued to his hip out of fear of losing him, fear that it was just some cruel play by hades, or the fairy, or gold, to make her think her happy ending was finally hers, only to eventually rip it away from her ?
