Upon request, I’ve provided new art prompts for this year’s month of October!! As always, feel free to do all or some of these, pick and choose whichever stands out to you! If you missed a day’s prompt but still wanted to do art for it, absolutely do that and post it whenever you want, no worries whatsoever. It’s all completely laid back and just for fun! I’ve added to this list without consulting old ones, so if I used a repeat idea, it’s possible that I just was interested in seeing more of it again this year!! Hope you all enjoy! If you’re wanting me to check them out at all, you can use the tag, #Sanderstober2023 🎃

Oct. 1st: Give me a spooky or Halloween-y figure and how he looks on Sep. 30th (their off-time, go as comical as you’d like) and then how they look Oct. 1st (traditionally how they are known to look!).

Oct. 2nd: Give me a flower design inspired by a type of candy of your choice!

Oct. 3rd: In celebration of the awesomeness that is Fionna and Cake, I’d love to see you take a character, or characters from your fave series, and give them a multiverse makeover (what they’d look like in a different universe, under different circumstances)

Oct. 4th: Take any historic landmark, and give it an autumn or Halloween-y makeover

Oct. 5th: Since I’ve been on my D&D kick with Roleslaying with Roman, what would any Halloween- or spooky-themed character be in a D&D world? What would be their race? Their class? Their backstory??

Oct. 6th: Google a Random Color Generator and use it to give you three colors. Then use those three colors to create a new Halloween creature or character.

Oct. 7th: Along the lines of Spiderman Noir, take any character you want from some sort of fiction, and depict how they might look like in any other time period!

Oct. 8th: In the spirit of having fun with both Halloween AND Christmas, take a Halloween story/character and draw what they might appear as if they were actually a character talked or sung about in a Christmas story.

Oct. 9th: Take a group of characters from one of your favorite pieces of content and create tarot cards featuring them. Google tarot cards to get inspiration if you need!

Oct. 10th: Take a musical (one that I would suppose wouldn’t already be scary) and create a poster for it as if it were the title of a scary movie

Oct. 11th: Google a Disney character generator, pick out two characters, and create what a mash-up of those two characters would look like!

Oct.12th: Pumpkin spice latte obviously has its spotlight during the fall, but could you come up with another special coffee concoction for another season/holiday of the year?

Oct. 13th: Take a Fall/Halloween concept or character and use it as inspiration for a fashionable outfit

Oct. 14th: As a tribute to Barbenheimer this year, take any character from Barbie or Oppenheimer and depict how they’d appear in the other movie

Oct. 15th: Take the last text you received. Use all or part of it to base a whole movie off of it of any genre, and create a poster for it

Oct. 16th: Take one of the names of your current pet, old pet, or friend’s pet, and use that name as the inspiration for a superhero. What would that superhero look like?

Oct. 17th: Is there a phrase that one of your parents or friend says all the time? Take it and imagine it’s the name of a children’s book. What would that children’s book cover look like?

Oct. 18th: Take a Disney villain, and depict them as a Disney princess

Oct. 19th: Take a Disney Princess and depict them as a Disney villain!

Oct. 20th: Take any Greek god and imagine what their preferred activity might be on an average Fall day.

Oct. 21st: Take a board game (one that I would suppose wouldn’t be scary) and create a poster for it as if it were the title of a scary movie

Oct. 22nd: This is an annual favorite of mine - take take any character(s) from a piece of content of your choice and depict them like a Tim Burton character

Oct. 23rd: Take a famous brand logo (Toyota, Playstation, Campbell’s Soup, Facebook, literally any logo from anything) and design a Pokemon inspired by the logo and color palette! Bonus for naming it and giving it stats!

Oct. 24th: In the spirit AGAIN of having fun with both Halloween AND Christmas, now take a Christmas story/character and draw what they might appear as if they were actually a character talked or sung about in a Halloween story.

Oct. 25th: Another favorite of mine: take any character(s) from a piece of animated content you enjoy, and draw them in the style of another piece of animated content!

Oct. 26th: Go to the latest playlist you were listening to, put it on shuffle, and see what song it plays. Take the title of that song and use it as inspiration for a Halloween/Autumn themed drawing of your choice.

Oct. 27th: Take a favorite pair of characters from a piece of content you enjoy and depict what their matching Halloween costumes would be!

Oct. 28th: [Random event from this past year] … and Zombies!!

Oct. 29th: Every town’s got some local businesses with interesting names (Jerry’s Tire Barn Emporium, stuff like that). If you know of one in your local town, take that name, and imagine it to be the name of a Haunted House. Depict what that location may look like. I wanna learn about some funny local business names.

Oct. 30th: Take one item from your desk/workspace, anything you want. This item is now the inpiration of a brand NEW cryptid (like Sasquatch, Loch Ness, El Chupacabra, just some legendary creature we have yet to find hard evidence of). Depict what this cryptid would be!

Oct. 31st: And, of course, in typical fashion for the big day, give me any character(s) of your choice, from any piece of content, enjoying Halloween in whatever way seems appropriate to them!!

Ghost's skull - Wild Rambling #2

\tw: gore, body decomposition, body parts? Idk

Is it bad of me to headcanon super dark theories of where Ghost's skull came from?

Okay, let's, first of all, suspend disbelief because he obviously has MULTIPLE of them across the last 3 games, he's had at least 2, if not 3.

(Check the detail around the eyes, especially. Unless he's been sanding off parts of the bone so it sits flusher to his face - I wouldn't put it past him - then from MW2 to MW3 it wouldn't have changed that much)

(Not to mention THIS abomination that's got a completely different cut to the forehead and eyes and is sewn to a different balaclava)

But let's, for the sake of this, treat them all as if they're the same skull mask.

In my head, let me start out by saying that I headcanon that that's a REAL human skull. Not a little Halloween mask. (Peep all the imperfections and cracks on it)

So then that begs the question of WHO that skull belongs to.

Firstly, it's large enough to fit his nose and eyes and be somewhat aligned with his mouth and forehead. It likely means it's an adult male's.

Second, considering all the cracks on it especially around the eye sockets, he's had it for a WHILE and has been patching it up.

Now, if we go with the whole '09 Ghost backstory/comic book Ghost backstory... then Ghost was taken by Roba, buried alive, had his family killed, etc. etc.

Then it makes sense that Ghost would steal whatever gear/equipment he can on his way back to the US border and then again on his way to the UK when he finds his family dead.

That means he'd likely have stolen weapons, clothes, gear... (Like he advises Johnny to do in MW2 'welcome to guerrilla warfare' and all). But he wouldn't come across someone with a whole skull front sewn to a balaclava...

Which means he did it himself.

Then, my brain hcs three possible origins for the skull:

When he was buried alive, he was buried with someone else (Vernon), and he took HIS skull... (as an extra way to conceal his identity on his search for Roba)

Or...

He took the skull off the remains of the men that killed his family... (it would help avoid detection that the body he switched dog tags with was not Simon Riley bc no facial reconstruction)

Or...

It's Roba's skull. (And a constant reminder for Ghost of the stuff he's survived and of the enemy he's decimated... Of all he's lost... And of who he's been forced to become.)

That's my fave theory.

Hey I decided to try your event request! For TWST, I was absolutely stuck between Vil and Malleus, but ended up choosing Vil. I’m a simp and both appealed a lot to me, what can I say? Right now, I still use him in battles and him occasionally on my home screen, but he shares the spot with Malleus. Although if I have to be honest, Diasomnia is my fave dorm and I consider Mal my husbando more, with Vil as secondary fave.

I like to think that Vil eventually got his revenge by playing hard to get, because his birthday and Halloween cards both forced me to hit pity before I pulled him. On the other hand, Malleus was more shy and took me forever before I got any of his SR cards.

I honestly truly love both and have difficulty deciding which one is my favorite. So overall, I’d like maybe a playing hard to get Vil, whose also trying to show off, while Malleus is secretly (obviously) pining from afar and trying to be aloof, but failing. I feel like the two may get competitively petty, so I’d like to see that! Overall, a cute but lovey dovey romantic battle! Make it so that they’re consistently trying to one up each other.

Other details about me: I’m kind of shy when it comes to romance. Not easily swayed by material goods OR words, but rather actions. I dont mind light yandereness.

A Tale of Malleus and Vil Competing for their Lover

Vil’s morning routine had always been long. But these days it took at least two hours, with lots of new products added to his arsenal on top of his already extensive product list. New products included a hair spray that made his hair shimmer, nail polish that changed color to the viewer’s favorite color, perfume that was whatever scent your beloved found comfort in, and a lipstick that made it very hard to resist kissing him. And those were only a couple of his secret weapons.

After preparing for the day, he left the dorm, making sure his form fitting shirt and pants had plenty of the perfume on them. It was the weekend, so he knew he could find his target hanging out in the courtyard. He may or may not have scheduled a photo shoot in said courtyard, but he was generous, and would let you remain in the area.

He arrived just in time to see the photographer trying to shoo you away. Vil scowled. He knew the photographer was trying to help, but he was ruining his plan.

“Potato,” He said to the photographer, “What seems to be the problem?”

"This student is going to be in the shot."

"I can leave if you need me to. I didn't know you'd be here today, Vil," you said, your eyes trained on his lips subconsciously. At least his lipstick was going the way it was supposed to.

He gave a dramatic sigh. "As long as you stay out of the way, you can stay. I do better with an audience anyway."

You nodded and went back to where you liked to sit, your eyes following his every movement.

….

He really did do better with an audience. If the audience was you. He felt alluring, and sexy, and stunning with your eyes trained on him as he posed.

A couple more shots. Then he'd take a water break. He knew the perfect angle to accentuate his profile in the sunlight and….what was he doing here?

"Take five," he snapped at the photographer as he made his way to Malleus, who was taking a seat on the bench across from yours. He seemed to be reading a book, but Vil knew better.

"Draconia," he said, voice full of venom. "There's a shoot happening here. Please read elsewhere."

Malleus looked up at him, his eyes flashing with emerald electricity.

"Schoenheit. I am not in your way. I am just reading."

Vil was about to snarl something nasty when you spoke up.

"I can help you find a better spot to read, if you want Tsunotarou," you spoke up.

Both men looked at you in shock.

Malleus recovered first, with a satisfied smirk.

"I'd rather not disrupt your activities, Child of man," he hummed.

"It's alright, I have some homework I'm supposed to be doing, but Vil's photoshoot is too distracting. It's hard to focus on anything but him," you said with a laugh.

Both men clenched their jaw, for different, but similar, reasons.

But Malleus knew that he had won this battle, so he closed his book, stood up, and held out his arm.

"Lead the way, Child of man. Show me a better private place."

Vil seethed as you both walked away, but said nothing. He'd lost this battle, but the war wasn't over.

"I'll win the next one, Draconia," he hissed quietly.

He knew it wasn't possible that he could have heard him, but the booming laugh Malleus let out was quite the coincidence.

another year without any archer halloween content, so i'm making my own!

How Halloween plans would go with each of my fave characters!

🎃🧛🏽‍♀️👻🧟‍♀️🎃

STERLING

"Batman and Catwoman? Really? Isn't that, like, as basic as you can stoop?"

Halloween, like all festivals, is an excuse for Sterling to get shit-faced. More so than usual, so he's game for whatever dumbassery you've got in mind... plus his own.

More likely than not, he'll wanna go to a strip club. Practically insists on it and whines like a little kid until you give in and agree.

"What? I've never been to a strip club for Halloween. Are you gonna deny me of hot vampire tits now? After you coerced me into this ridiculous outfit? Wow..."

If you got him drunk enough, he'd agree to dress up as whatever you want him to. He might grumble and say you're demeaning him by sticking a pair of bunny ears on his head, but, secretly, he's enjoying it. Plus, those ears attract a lot of attention so... he's basking in it. But he won't tell you that. He can see your little smirks and smiles, but he's so totally not lapping all of it up. No, he's embarrassed! Sooooo embarrassed that he's having suuuuuch a good time with you.

As for trick or treating? As much as he wants to go out and get free candy from strangers, he recognises that he's far too old for such a thing. However, he absolutely will drag you out to "chaperone" AJ and her friends when they go out trick or treating. And takes a 40% cut for looking after them. Then, uses you as a scapegoat when Lana finds out about it. Obviously.

LANA

"Slutty nun is kinda on the nose, no? Also, who told you about that?"

Halloween is a little... overwhelming for Lana. The very idea makes her uneasy, which is ironic for the absolute force she is in and out of the field.

She wants AJ to have a good time, of course, but there's a lot going on with all the mayhem of trick or treating and running about the streets of New York at night. And the fact there are people dressed as murdererous psychopaths, covered in blood etc. Well, that sends her already worrying brain into overdrive.

"Is this a good idea? I mean, everyone does it. Trick or treating. So... yeah... fine... right? Maybe you should come with me. No. You should definitely come with me. AJ would appreciate it too."

She's not one for partying until the sun rises, but she'll indulge in some of the festivities like staying at home, sharing a bottle of wine with you, and answering the door for other trick or treaters once you've both done the rounds with AJ. She leans into the whole domestic mom thing even more and dresses up in matching outfits with you! (whether that's slutty or savoury is up to you...)

Steadily throughout the night, she does get more and more pissed off, though. The constant getting up to answer the door, hearing the same phrase screamed at her over and over, and the general lack of quiet agitates her to no end. Still, she'll try her best not to blow a fuse since she knows how much you enjoy Halloween. She can, after all, be very caring.

ZARA

"I swear to god, if you don't come up with an original idea for a costume, I'm blowing the building up."

Halloween is one of Zara's favourite holidays, if not her number one favourite. She wants to do it ALL, and she's taking you as her prisoner for the night.

First on the checklist (yes, she made an itinerary, it's that serious) are couple costumes. She already has it planned out, you don't get a say in it, she knows your measurements, she's bought you a custom costume and you WILL wear it.

"Aww, see? You look adorable, like I knew you would. Now, smile for the camera."

Then, the night unfolds as such : carving pumpkins, apple bobbing (look it up), witch hat ring toss, Halloween scavenger hunt, and ending the festivities off by rolling around a bar until some truly unholy hours.

She used to go trick or treating a lot as a kid, but she's definitely outgrown that now. However, she always makes sure she has sweets to give the kids who knock on her door. She won't admit it, but seeing all the little kids in their adorable costumes is her favourite part of it all.

CHERYL

"You call that scary? What are you? Five years old? I was reciting Suspiria when I was five, not Hocus frickin' Pocus!"

Halloween for Cheryl imbues her with an especially sinister energy. She's already crazy as it is, but tonight? Watch out.

Due to her strange, eccentric upbringing, she never really had the chance to go trick or treating like a regular, non-billionaire child. She doesn't get the appeal and she has absolutely zero desire to get free candy that was – in her words – bought from a store (the dollar store) she wouldn't set foot in even if she were dying of a disfiguring disease and it housed the only cure on Earth.

"God, that really is a pathetic attempt of a costume. Like, did you even try? A month? This took you a month to put together? Why do you even bother?"

All being said, she will spend her Halloween with you, provided you do exactly what she wants.

That includes : sitting through the most fucked up films you've ever had the misfortune of watching, using a oujia board (since she thinks those are fun and doesn't take your cautioning against 'doing it properly' serious), only saying "trick" to all the kids who knock on her door and laughing in their faces when they don't know what to do, and listening to all her crazy conspiracy theories at 3AM because she refuses to go to sleep and you're now too scared to.

KATYA

"I do not get it... You want me to dress up as... тыква?"

Halloween for Katya is a foreign concept since it's not a widely celebrated holiday in Russia, but she is curious about it.

Most of what she knows has come from various western films, a little from what you've told her, and a little from Sterling. Although, he was mainly talking about the vampire tits at the strip club which wasn't all that useful. So, when you have your first Halloween with her, she's both excited and only slightly confused.

"This costume is scratchy and poorly made. Where did you say you got it from? Spirit? Well, there was absolutely no spirit put into the production of this polyester abomination, I tell you that."

She would love to experience what it's like to go trick or treating, but when you tell her that it's only for kids, she gets super frowny and demands you take her anyway. Which you do 'cause are you really gonna say no to her?

So, when you inevitably end up in a crowded bar, slurping Halloween themed cocktails, she agrees and says trick or treating is for kids... but she lets you in on her candy haul nonetheless.

PAM

"Fuck yeah! Weirdest but hottest couples costume award here we come!"

Halloween, much like Zara, is basically a holy holiday for Pam. Up there with no socks day.

Your agenda is simple : dress up good and drink even better. It's an absolutely foolproof plan.

"You want me to carve a pumpkin? Right now? After I had, like, seven of these scare-o jell-o shots? Alright. Gimme the knife."

Something that surprises you is to find out just how incredible her special effects makeup skills are. She can give you a gnarly gash on your face like it's nothing. That open zip wound thing? Yeah, she can do that too. A pus-filled boil? Pam's your guy. Any gory thing you can think of, she's got you covered.

Once you're done letting her decorate you with some truly horrible looking injuries, you spend the rest of the night at her place, watching horror films, knocking back those aforementioned scare-o jell-o shots that she prepared earlier, and having a damn good time until you both pass out on the couch.

so... yeah! that was all very silly n self-indulgent, hence why i only did my faves. if you want me to come up with stuff like this for other characters or anything else for any character, inbox me! and happy halloween!

THE REDESIGN SAGA CONTINUES

This is a funny one, cause it has problematics faves and one that I truly hate, let's discover which one together!

Cleo Denile: based more on what I found was the royal egyptian attire at the time, but in the form of a full body with pants, making the yellowish tones as the main theme instead of the blues. If I have done a goof with this one I would apreciate the feedback cause I'm not egyptian, and idk much about the culture-.

"I am worthy of a kingdom father, and I would rip my heart to prove it"

Kieran Valentine: just a few chances to simplify his attire, and also gave him the monster characteristics I love so much. Emotional vampires have little hairs on their ears, as well as a more "puppy bat" nose.

"I never loved draculaura! I have never loved any ghoul!"

Spelldon Cauldronello: okay this one was interesting, cause I just had a strong will and Casta Fierce for a reference for this faceless man. Obviously very punk, and very halloween!. He is a creation of Circe (I like the idea that he was created from soil and like, magic stuff). While Casta inherited the wand and the transformation magic. He inherited the innate talents of herbology and potion making.

Gillington "Gil" Webber: Oh boy here we are. From all monster high g1 it's safe to say I really really hate Gil's design, like ever since I was little I have hated that man for his design alone.

The only thing I saved from him was the water breathing thing and his ""hair"". But I have him a more indigo blue color palette to make it different from Lagoona. And while I don't support this ship, I also get where both of them are coming from (also if I ever make mini comics this is a juicy story I would love to write)

Now that I have most of the main cast of characters on character sheets I can finally start a process of "writting an actual mini comic and not procastinating"

Happy Halloween 2023!

This is something long overdue. Even though I stopped posting my commissions on here that doesn't mean I've stopped getting them!

I've especially enjoyed getting Halloween commissions because those are really fun to conceive, order, and see made into reality. I've especially enjoyed getting them from Aeolus06 and he's never disappointed. Sadly due to me being between jobs I couldn't get any this year. :( That said I've decided to use this as an opportunity to show what I've got over the last few years and hopefully you'll love them as much as I do! :)

These first four are unique in that these were all from the same year (2020 to be exact). Since Aeo has a cool down period between commissions, I actually got these all done over a period of a few months. XD Took a lot of luck and prayer, but I got all the ideas I wanted done!

First one was probably the most complex, but was worth it because of how well it fit. Star, Marco, and Hekapoo from Star vs The Forces of Evil as AndrAIa, Matrix, and Older!AndrAIa from Reboot! Much like Matrix, Marco had a bit of age jumping that fit naturally (especially body types and eye scars). Plus Star and Hekapoo are shipped pretty hard with him so it was natural they dress as the different versions of Matrix's lady love.

Also, Fun Fact: Marco's scar/prosthetic eye is on the wrong side compared to his costume, but I felt it was better to ignore it than have Aeo flip the entire costume. XD

Next up we had some classic hotties from Canada, Lindsay and Courtney. Everyone with a pulse will know I'm a Courtney fan, so I'm always eager to give her some love. And while I'm not AS big on Lindsay, she's a fun character and I have some friends who love her too so I didn't mind them sharing the spotlight.

Obviously the theme/inspiration behind this pics conception is the fact Lindsay and Courtney pack the biggest T and A on the island respectively, so they needed some costumes to illustrate that. Thus we got Courtney as everyone's fave lady wrestler Rainbow Mika from Street Fighter and Lindsay as the boxing cheerleader Tiffany Lords from Rival Schools. Both ladies who kick ass and look good doing it! Give these ladies some love folks!

Another Fun Fact: This one took faster to do than I expected, mostly cause I didn't realize my refs were thigh high. In the end I feel it still looked good and didn't bother bringing it up. XD

Here's another cute couple and one I think deserves more love. Eclipsa Butterfly and Globgor are also from SVTFOE and honestly very sweet and adorable. While they're regarded as evil by less tolerant folk, they're honestly some of the sweetest characters you'll see on the show. I feel this is a nice contrast to their costumes, Sindel and Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat. I went with the MK9 versions of their outfits since they were both modern and simple. Didn't wanna be THAT guy who commissions SUPER complicated outfits. I'm not a sadist! While later games would retcon Sindel into being just as evil as Shao (something thankfully corrected in MK1) I still feel this outfit and character works for Eclipsa, even if she and her hubby are as far from evil as you can get. XD

Final pic of this year is another couples pic with Danny Fenton and Paulina Sanchez. I ship these two and take no shame in it. This was originally gonna just be Paulina as Phantom Girl from Legion of Superheroes since the name and colors matched Danny perfectly. But then I figured just having Paulina in costume wouldn't be fair, so I had him dress up as Timberwolf, since I recall them having a few moments in the cartoon. A cartoon, much like this pairing, is very underrated. XD

Now to 2021! This was a fun crossover and and me deciding to avoid "themes" and combining two character pin-ups in one! Once again we have Hekapoo and this year she's dressed up as Otedamako. Who's that? Only my fave Monster of the Day from Sailor Moon! :3 To her side with have a humanoid Rarity showing off her darkside as Martha from Helluva Boss! This one came from the animated opening in G5 that had Rarity showing off some spiky teeth and a crazy look in her eyes. IMMEDIATELY brought Martha too mind. All and all, very happy with how these two came out!

And now to the prior year of 2022. By this point Aeo started coloring the stream commissions and honestly, it was worth the price increase. Dude is a machine! If this one has a theme it's basically me taking the waifus of my close friends (Chill, Terrible, and Raccoon) and dressing them as other sexy waifus. From left to right we have Himiko Toga from My Hero Academia dressed as Harlequin, the Harley Quinn of the Gods and Monsters film. A very hot/underrated design for a VERY twisted take on the character. Toga makes it work! Front and center we have Wilhamena Mettle from OK K.O.! as Starfire, specifically the comic book version for obvious reasons. XD Finally we have Juri Han from Street Fighter dressed in the tight leathers of Penelope Spectra from Danny Phantom, specifically her second form. Lot of specifics in this piece. XD

Final Fun Fact: Was tempted to have Wilhamena as Star Canary, the fusion of Starfire and Black Canary from the Batman/Superman comic. Very hot design. XD

And a bit of a bonus! I ended up really helping out a new friend on deviantART back in 2020 and got to get a bit of art as a thank you. Courtesy of XJKenny we have Meteora Butterfly, daughter of Eclipsa and Globgor as Mileena. Also her MK9 design, this not only works for Meteora herself given her story, but also matches up with her parents' costumes as well!

Well that's everything I wanted to share this year! This has been a rough year for me personally and for the world as a whole. But I'm hoping we can turn things around a bit with what bit of the year we have left.

My five favorites from my own fics(of this year):

— Gogeta Soulmates Valentine

Plot-wise, this was definitely in the top three of my favorite vday requests and I really enjoyed writing the soulmate concept. Gogeta is still one of those characters that doesn't come as easy to me to write but when I get it, I get it! And he's always softer than what I intend for which I love.

— Bedtime Story

**JJK SPOILERS** I honestly ain't been the same since Toji's second death and what it reveals about him. First death? Well okay you died doing what you loved sweetie time to rest. Second death? Please sedate me I have not known a singular day of peace! 😭😭 But I needed a Toji fic that wasn't him just blowing out backs. So I just wrote him being a dad and husband, happy, existing in the same space at the same time as his wife and child while she tells a bedtime story to Megumi that becomes about them AND THEY ALL LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Wishing everybody but the Zenin clan and Mahito a very peaceful rest of the year.

Wrote this mostly for the Halloween season and Fn-f movie, also I weirdly had just noticed at the time majority of Gero's androids have the same blue eyes and wanted to do something with that. This is probably one of maybe two fics I wrote this year without any pairings or romance. With this AU, I toyed around with the idea of an angry spirit (a la fn-f lore style) being trapped inside his own body from his violent death, only now his body is this "bio-android prototype" shell and he represents Android 16 instead of canon 16. After Bulma fixes him, the spirit starts to regain some of his memory and fights against Gero's android programming. I wanted to continue this but of course SOTS took priority and now I think it's fine as a standalone one-shot for its little twist ♥

— Royal Pains

Praise to the only threesome I wrote this year! Virgin!Vegeta plot has to be the highlight of the year though, I love how involved everyone was with this concept and the many fics that were born from it. ♥♥♥♥ Consider this one a fave more for what the prompt inspired from a few of my favorite fic writers than what I wrote, but I'm always proud anytime I get to write a flustered Vegeta. It's the only way I know how to write him.

— Back At The Garden

Obviously ss4 Goku is in my faves. He is my king 😭♥ This one is just a plot bunny that got stuck in my head until I wrote it down. One thing about my TWYSILY fics, they're probably gonna get sequels nobody asked for and this is always a safe space for SS4. ♥

Hali's Ao3 Rec's

Hi hello - in lieu of my Thirsty Thursday reviews that I skipped yesterday, I've compiled a very short list of fics I have read on Ao3 recently that absolutely scrambled my brain, loved them, no notes, want to re-read them again and again. Please make sure you give these authors love, even though some of these stories are old!

Note: These are literally all mem x mem because that's primarily what I use Ao3 to read. These are also in no particular order.

By Any Other Name (halloween 02) by ladypajara

Pairing: Jimin and Namjoon Summary: Namjoon and Jimin are stray demons who have long accepted to ignore their unholy purpose of collecting souls and live life as humans in all its banality. Some few hundred years into it, feelings arise. My reactions: The most lovely character studies, wonderful narrative of two idiots obviously into one another, and probably one of my favorite Namjoons to have ever been written.

Strawberry Dream by ladyddaeng

Pairing: Jimin and Taehyung Summary: Unpresented Taehyung gets his first heat and is assigned a special heat companion. My reactions: WEE WOOO WEE WOOO CALL THE AMBULANCE THIS JIMIN IS LETHAL AND SWEET AND KIND AND CARING AND THEIR DYNAMIC IS WONDERFUL

What Lies Below by Sharleena

Pairing: Jimin and Yoongi Summary: There is a curse that lives in the woods, and a spirit that keeps it at bay. And one sacrifice, born under the right moon. My Reactions: I stayed up until 3:30 am reading this motherfucker. It is beautiful though melancholy at parts, and though it is "horror" in parts, it is a .. gentle, hypnotizing horror, in a way. One of my favorite fics of the year.

The One by nicedress

Pairing: Yoongi and Namjoon Summary: Every stamen lured into Yoongi’s bed leaves him with a new blossom on his skin and a new grave on his property. When he encounters Namjoon, a stamen who refuses to touch any pistil unless it’s his soulmate, all Yoongi sees is someone naive and easy to control. Someone to help around the farm without complaint. Someone to dig holes without realizing they’re graves. Someone Yoongi’s not quite willing to kill—not yet. My Reactions: I read this through and then re-read it because it was so good. It was SO fascinating. There are notes about how the genre of Pistilverse works, but the author does a good job at using the tropes without making it confusing. Also please read the warnings. This made my brain spin for days and I want to do a Pistilverse AU sooo bad after reading it.

Murmuration by fringecity

Pairing: Taegimin Summary: Park Jimin is a rookie detective at the flashiest department in Seoul Metropolitan. When he's tasked to work with Min Yoongi - an apathetic, disgraced cop handling the ineffective cold case division - he doesn't expect the murder case they're working on to turn intensely personal. My Reactions: THIS BROKE ME AND THEN BROKE ME AGAIN AND THEN SCRAMBLED MY BRAIN AND EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN IS WRONG AND FAILED SO MANY ATTEMPTS AT FIGURING OUT WHERE THIS WAS GOING AND MY BRAINS ARE SCRAMBLED EGGS WITH HOT SAUCE. One of my top fave fics on the year.

Turn Up Your Light by spudcity

Pairing: Jimin and Yoongi Summary: Yoongi needs to secure a marriage to save his people. My Reaction: I've never wanted to smash two character's heads together more and make them kiss than I did in this. The world building is not only fascinating, but these characters are some of my favorites I've ever read. Period.

Forest, Fire by rkiveink

Pairing: Jimin and Jungkook Summary: In a facility creating genetically modified humans for an elite military unit, alpha Jungkook is used to being overlooked. He’s classified as a ‘C-grade’ for his passivity and lack of aggression. When one of the facility’s valuable omegas goes feral, it’s exactly this nature that makes him perfect to try and tame him. But, even the calmest souls catch fire when they have something to fight for. My Reactions: *ripping my hair our* *taking anxiety medication* *crying sobbing screaming* *blood pressure spiking* i love this fic with every ounce of my being. It updates every Sunday and 4/6 chapters are posted currently.

indefinite hiatus

Howdy doody.

This may seem as a sudden notice, but it is not to me. It is a matter that I have thought about many times, over and over again. On the other hand, I have also tried to ignore it in the hopes of it going away. Obviously, that did not work out.

Back during my trip to Japan, I had rekindled my love for the Japanese language and it is still strong as ever. In fact I have decided to pursue it academically so that I can continue to work with it, ideally in localisation. After the struggle I had with school that felt like it lasted an eternity, I was quite proud of myself to pick up from where my attempt at university in 2018 to 2020 left me off.

But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. It is actually a similar sort of situation I found myself in earlier this year.

What I’m doing right now… is it fun?

Helios Rising Heroes was a pick me up in 2020. I had lost my drive for Japanese after giving up on academics, and seeing how Keith and Brad interacted made me curious about their story. I went further in the world of HeliosR, and before I knew it I was enamored with it. So much so that I felt compelled to share this love, to let people know the charms of these characters. I started out with translating content of my favorite character, then to the whole sector, eventually other characters and so on. It was a challenge, and that challenge helped me grow in many ways.

However somewhere down this road, I kept battling this one question: who am I doing this for? I thought for myself, but it wasn’t. It became a responsibility to fill in the gaps. I did not care about North at all, yet seeing that one Halloween event stay untranslated the entire time bothered me, so I picked it up myself and hey, it worked out. North Sector is one of my fave sectors now, but that’s what became an issue. I started picking up too much to do, for the sole sake of it being translated. I didn’t limit myself because moderation is a word that didn’t exist to me back then. Even now it sort of doesn’t, but I like to think I’ve gotten better at it.

Another issue is that I love Helios, I really, really do. It means a lot to me, but translating it is actively ruining it for me at the same time. I feel the need to step away and enjoy it without feeling responsible, but I also feel guilty for thinking so. I have stuff I started and need to finish. And that’s where I found myself stuck at a stalemate, almost to the point of ignoring Helios and I don’t want that. I had fun earlier this year translating the new West sector event, and all of chapter two of SITD, but it was short lived. I went right back to that stalemate that had been haunting me.

The combination of biting off more than what I can chew, with halfhearted feelings behind it, is what leaves me dull. There is no “fun” to be had.

I will say what I said earlier this year, about a different project I translated at the time:

“Is it that serious? That I’m dropping a series that I have translated? No, probably not. Happens all the time, I’m sure there are others waiting in line to continue what I was doing, or maybe not. Who knows.

But to me, it is, and that’s why I wanted to convey it in a long hefty post.

As closure, I will share some words of one of my favourite manga. Something I live by, and will for as long as possible.

“The world is filled to the brim with nice things… and all of them are carrying someone’s intentions and feelings.

When those feelings get across and manage to make someone happy… I gain little pieces of confidence,

that I’ll gather together and carry with me as I move on.”

And I believe something like that, is only achievable when you do something that is fun, to you.”

This isn’t the end, it never is. However for me to move on, to find joy again, I have to say it like this. Perhaps one could say I am a fan of theatrics in this regard.

For now, and the unforeseen future, I simply want to step back from translating Helios Rising Heroes. Focus on truly mastering Japanese (my conversational skills are as abhorrent as they could be) and perhaps even study abroad. Not only that, but find fun in Helios again, by simply enjoying it without feeling a responsibility nagging at me every single waking moment I think about this series. It’s a bit of a shame to leave things here when I haven’t finished chapter 3 of SITD, but I think this is the best choice for me, going forward.

Once again, thank you for reading this post and my translations. Thank you for being able to find enjoyment in Helios Rising Heroes through my translations. This blog will stay up as an archive and will not be going anywhere.

As I said, it is not the end of the road for me. I will perhaps be around on another ventures regarding translations, and we might cross paths once more. And hopefully said ventures do not include a repetition of past mistakes. I am positive it won't though.

One day, I may or may not come back to this either, but for now it is atleast a farewell.

doing some rewatches of movies bc i cant focus enough one new ones and i’ve realized that (controversially) i don’t really like the halloween movies 😭😭 like obviously i like it as a whole and michael is a great slasher but the first two original movies are hard for me to sit through, the cult stuff bogs the plot down so much, and i don’t like rz’s editing (and a Certain thing in his movies that makes me go :/) bc it gives me a headache most of the time so i don’t watch those ones even tho michael is def the scariest in those 2 movies…. the 2018 one has a good mix of both for me and is def my fave but i remember Hating the end of halloween kills so much that i just never saw halloween ends KDJWKDNJS

one day when i have less worms in my brain i’ll actually sit down for a full rewatch front to back of all the movies and properly sit with them but for now….i think it’s def low on my franchise ranking list LMFAO
