Hi! I'll start by saying I enjoy your takes on the Episodes, I'm very analytical myself and take away a great deal from most episodes. I liked seeing you see the similarities between the brothers VS Michael and Lucifer. I've found it usually a bad idea to say Sam has any similarities to Lucifer, especially among Samgirls lol. I favor Sam but I still love Dean, I guess I accept character flaws in both of them even if they make me cringe at times.
I guess I don't have an actual question, I just want to say I'm you share your views outside the tags so I can (and others) jump in sometimes ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you! I also tend to bother people with my analytical takes, so it's good to find someone else who doesn't mind.
Re: the unpopularity of Sam/Lucifer parallels: I don't see how anyone could watch the show and come away thinking that Sam doesn't share darkness, or at least potential darkness, with Lucifer. He could enjoy power-tripping, revenge, and wanton destruction. Multiple episodes deal with that head-on, e.g., "Abandon All Hope." The difference lies in prioritization, rather than potential: Sam (usually) puts his compassion for others ahead of whatever pleasure he would gain from giving into temptation. As Sam himself says, "It doesn't matter what you are. It only matters what you do. It's your choice."

"people show their true colours in life threatening situations" no, they show you what they act like when they're mortally terrified, an emotion notorious for literally turning your entire brain off to the point where people who go into those situations as a profession need to be literally trained on how to not have that happen

I agree with you on the first point, but I would very strongly push back against any idea that using prostitution to survive would change Dean’s feelings on homosexuality. For one thing, I think it would make it even harder for him to empathize with gay people if his formative experiences with gay people were extremely questionable (probably older probably very creepy men preying on a younger/underage man, as would’ve likely been the situation if that headcanon were true, just statistically speaking). Secondly, I think part of surviving that would be compartmentalizing it, and when he gets older distancing himself from it and trying to pretend it never happened, which could easily lead to homophobic behavior. I think it would be hard for him to see gay people as regular people just like himself when his most vivid experiences with gayness would have been vulnerable and coerced. So he would think “why would someone do that to themselves willingly” when obviously actual gay people living their lives would have very different experiences, not predicated on putting themselves in vulnerable situations to provide for their family.
Well, yeah. I think it could shift his view to the "gay men are predators" type of homophobia. But I think it would've made it awkward for him to take the "letting a man do gay things to you means you're weak" tack, which he frequently does. Like most prejudices, homophobia comes in different varieties, none of which accurately reflects the real inner lives of most queer people.

“The average US president has been charged with 1.54 felonies” factoid isn’t true. The average US President has been charged with 0 felonies. Donald trump, who has been charged with 71, is a statistical outlier and should not have been counted
