the yi sangela post
I’m having autistic zoomies right now
I want to talk about Yi Sang and Angela because I like them both A Lot and I just think it’s fun to do comparisons. My partner made this lovely checklist with a few similarities I jotted down in a notesapp on my phone before I passed out and I will be cooking a meal thats geared solely to me but ur welcome to try and eat it if u want
Tumblr media
Let’s get into it. There is no structure here but maybe we will find it as we go along!
I wanna start w a disclaimer that this is FOR FUN its not actually that serious and ALSO its obviously not a 1-to-1 comparison because these two are also so starkly different in not only their circumstances but also their overall personality when it comes to having deal with said Issues. I feel like tumblr users are more chill these days but after some shit ive seen on projmoon twitter I am covering my bases this is just a Post by a Stranger Online LOL
Let’s take a look at our first point on this silly little chart. That point is:
Bird
Angela’s black dress heavily resembles the feathers of a bird; specifically that of a corvid like a raven or even crow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even her head librarian outfit has some bird motifs to it. I’m going to get into corvid symbolism in a second but first
Yi Sang also leans heavily into the bird motifs. His base EGO is named Crow’s Eye View after a poem by the RL Yi Sang, and the narrative draws some inspo from the short story The Wings by the same author.
Tumblr media
Wings show up often in some of his EGOS and CGs
Tumblr media
Now, it’s not simply generic birds either of them are inspired by; Angela’s black feathers, Yi Sang’s EGO title, they are specifically invoking corvids. Corvidae include many different species of birds, such as magpies and jays, but the most commonly thought of corvids would be the ones with black feathers; ravens and crows. Corvids are incredibly intelligent birds, and they are rich in symbolism and meaning.
Specifically, crows have a heavy association with death and the afterlife. Both Angela and Yi Sang are impacted by heavy losses; Angela is made from a woman who took her own life and is forced to oversee countless loops of people suffering and dying; Yi Sang witnessed his friends being driven apart in a violent manner. His two childhood friends die before him, he wishes he could kill himself and die, and is trapped in a purgatory state with his current coworkers where bloodshed is as common as breathing. Death has marked both of them.
But! That is not the only thing corvids symbolize! In more modern times the birds are said to also symbolize transformation. In a way, that ties into death, as what is death if not the final transformation in life? But neither of their final growths end in their deaths; rather, both learn to find a way to free themselves from the shackles of their past, and to push forward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THEN WE HAVE
Book as weapon
This one is just silly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*beats you to death with a book beats you to death with a book beats you to death with a book*
Next point
Narrative haunted by a female figure
This one is in that “not a one-to-one comparison” territory, but it’s still just fun to poke at imo. In Angela’s case, she can never truly escape Carmen’s influence over her. For Yi Sang, Dongbaek is a ghost from his past. Both these women are integral to the overall narrative at hand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only do these women haunt the narrative, but they also mirror the person they haunt. Angela’s desire for life is so strong because, in the end, Carmen wished to live. Dongbaek admired Yi Sang and his dream of flying. She yearned to bloom in a way not dissimilar to a bird spreading it’s wings for the first time. Angela’s Lobcorp design invokes Carmen- her hair color is Carmen’s inverted. She wears the hair time Carmen wore. Dongbaek’s hair has become white from the trauma- the inverse of Yi Sang’s black hair. Yi Sang takes up a Dongbaek identity in a mirror world to further drive home the similarities. These women play a major role in the overall identity of these two characters.
And this is just my brain going “hehe neat” but Carmen’s whole like. Brain stem mimicking a tree and its roots. Dongbaek becoming flowers. Visually very similar vibes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Onto the next point
Loomed over and controlled by a male figure
This one probably seems second most self explanatory. Ayin meet Gubo Gubo meet Ayin ect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The deal is simple: you do what we want you to do, and we have employed dubious methods to ensure that you do what we want you to do! Both Ayin and Gubo are self serving when it comes to the end goals. The levels of agency at play here are different; Angela truly had no choice, but Yi Sang’s mental state is not Great and that is being capitalized on him to help perpetuate his isolation and dependency.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing: Ayin and Gubo are just really fucking mean to Angela and Yi Sang. Ayin actively dehumanizes her and neglects her; Gubo verbally and mentally abuses Yi Sang. Fun stuff.
Now, the penultimate point:
Yearning for freedom
This naturally comes with the territory of being a bird. Angela longs to not be confined to a place (Lobcorp or the Library). She wants to experience the world and be free. Yi Sang is similar; that desire to spread his wings and fly. For both to accomplish this, they have a talk with the ‘self’. It’s only by confronting their pasts, and themselves, that they can finally get that push to live life on their own terms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MY FINAL TALKING POINT
SEXY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like wow hot a what? And yes I chose fourth match flame because it ties into the whole post like they’re sharing an EGO that’s basically having your hopes burnt to a cinder and also an intense longing for a better life whoa thats crazy
Concluding thoughts
I just like them both a lot. My little caged birds getting out of the cage and mending their broken wings in order to take flight. Very kino. I love them.
If u actually read this thanks ur pog

no one gives a FUCK about aai2 and that. scares me! why? cuz its THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME IN THE SAGA WITHOUT AN OFFICIAL ENGLISH LOCALIZATION!! WE'RE GOING OFF AN INCREDIBLY WELL CRAFTED FANMADE TRANSLATION!!
for starters: miles edgeworth. we can truly see how far he's came since state v. will powers, or technically.. state v. terry fawles, since that's his first trial. it shows how he went from that demonic prosecutor who would incorrectly prosecute just to get a guilty verdict (doesn't that sound familiar?), to a prosecutor who GAVE UP HIS BADGE JUST TO PROTECT AN AMNESIAC 16 YEAR OLD WHO WAS BEING FRAMED FOR MURDER! not to mention, the 16 year old being someone rather important to him. someone who told him that when she speaks to him, it feels as if she's speaking with her father. isn't that progression!
next: HELLOOO!!! WE GET EXPLANATION AND BACKSTORY BEHIND THE DL-6 INCIDENT! we know WHY dl-6 occured thanks to the game introducing us to IS-7 (AND SOLVING IT WHILE WE'RE AT IT?!? MILES SOLVING GREGORY'S FINAL CASE?!?!? HEELLLOOOO??) and just... all of this happened because of some pastry baker who lost his sense of taste! ... IS-7 is so amazing i cannot even begin to fully explain it here.
my last point: RAYMOND SHIELDS. we can see, gregory's ONLY mentee! and how raymond has never moved on from gregory's death. he wears his coat in the winter, his hat, and never even changed the name of the attorney office! he went from viewing miles as a traitor for abandoning the edgeworth legacy, to seeing how miles is just like his father, and that this is what gregory would've wanted. because gregory was an amazing father and loved his son until his dying breath.
but idk

Where did the sun go?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: An unfortunate event for the first year' students of Tokyo Jujutsu Tech back in summer 2006. The sun of the academy stopped shining that day. (Original character insert)
Word count: 2k
TW: SPOILER - The Hidden Inventory arc, angst, character death, brief description of deadly wound, hyperventilating, suicidal thoughts, platonic relationships, nanami has green eyes (I know they're brown in canon, but I couldn't help myself)
A/N: I cried so much when after watching episode 5, even if I already knew what was going to happen, so I had to drown my sorrow by writing it down. Enjoy <3
Tumblr media
She always knew the path she chose wasn't easy. She knew she could've left the world of sorcerers if she wanted to, she knew it wouldn't be much of a big deal if she did. There were many strong people in this world, so they wouldn't lose anything.
But she was already in her second year at Jujutsu High School and for now, she didn't regret that much. Things could've been better, obviously, but it kept her occupied not only mentally. They always had missions to do and, no matter how disgusting they were sometimes, how it made her puke a few times, she kept going. The sole reason for that were the people around her, the students in her year and the other two first years.
The connection with each one of them kept her in a floating state. She was neither dying or living a lot of the time. She was on the edge of it and it was better than to fall over.
When Naomi heard about Yuu and Kento coming back from their last mission, she was excited, her eyes sparkling. Faster than the lights, the happiness left her eyes.
"What do you mean 'mission gone wrong'?" her voice trembled.
"They're at the morgue—"
She ran there, her eyes aching from the tears being held back, the hope that bubbled in her chest when they left now breaking down into pieces at her feet as she left it in her tracks. She gasped for air and almost knocked into someone else when she entered the hallway.
"Kento! Yuu—"
Her breath stopped right after almost banging the door into the wall as she opened it, eyes widening, a chair flying into the wall with a loud sound. Kento was sitting on another one, legs spread wide apart, head thrown back, a small towel draped over his features. All she could see were his downturned lips and the way he gulped.
"What happened?" she asked before she was even able to register the situation displaying right in front of her eyes.
Only after another second, she realized Yuu was the one laying on the metal bed in the middle of the room, her heart sinking in the ground. She stumbled as she made other few steps. The sheets covering his body suddenly dipped somewhere around his hips, blood coating the gray material.
She greedily breathed in once, the earth she was walking on suddenly rotating. She clutched with her fingers at the bed, knees buckling under her own weight. Her eyes were focused on Haibara's face, the bloody and wide wound that ran from under his left eye down, running under the sheets.
Wordlessly, she let her knees hit the floor, eyes wide open. It wasn't real, was it? It couldn't be, that was impossible. She was probably having a nightmare and she'll wake up in a fit of crying. She will panic and hyperventilate and then it will stop. She knew her body would calm down after drinking some water, even if she might drop the glass and it would shatter on the floor.
The same way her heart was now shattering on the floor of the morgue as she lost focus on her labored breathing, her face pale. She heard Kento's brief explanation, but she didn't process it, numb to everything around her. She heard the edge in the husky words that left his lips, how harsh they were, filled with unshed tears he was hiding behind the towel, rage wrapping around him like a dangerously cold blanket.
Disappointment. Fear. Anger. Sadness.
He's alive, right? she thought.
Her fingers searched for Yuu's hand under the sheets, intertwining her fingers with his. He was cold and pale, even his skin. There was blood under his nails, but she still squeezed the same hand that yesterday was so warm when it touched her shoulder. He was smiling so brightly at her, trying to ease her usual anxiety before any mission her friends left for. Yuu was so optimistic, telling her about how he and Kento will bring each other back to the dorms, "back home" — his words, not hers.
She squeezed his hand so tight, leaning her forehead against it, as if trying to give him back the warmth he always greeted everyone with. He should've done the same now, even while wincing because of the pain. He should've hugged her like he always does, always the first one to share the bright side of the story.
Hot tears ran down her cheeks in rivers, pitiful whines left her lips as she shut her eyes. She stopped breathing for a few seconds, her lungs filled with air. When she exhaled, there was also a sob coming from her.
So many times she got scared that if she'd look up at him while in a bad mood, she'd make him cry too. She was worried that her own sadness would rub off onto him, the only one who always found a reason to smile, even if who knew what was inside his heart.
Don't look up. I think you'll make the sun cry.
Why did the sheets suddenly fall as if there was nothing underneath? Why was there so much blood?
The realization hit her with another wave of tears.
He was cut in half.
Just as she expected, she was hyperventilating, but it wasn't a nightmare. Reality was heartbreaking this time, even while her lungs begged for a gulp of some oxygen. There was a lump in her throat and her breathing was too deep and fast, sometimes seconds passing without an inhale or exhale. Her heart was beating in her eardrums, painfully taking over her senses.
Her arms were on the metal bed, both of her hands now around his fingers in a futile attempt of warming him up, even if she was always the one with cold hands.
No. No, this can't happen. This is impossible.
"No," the word left her lips in a whisper. "Sweetheart."
This world didn't deserve him anyway. She consoled herself with this thought over and over again. It was easier that way, since she was already convinced about that fact. Haibara Yuu was too precious for the Jujutsu world. He was too much of a gentle soul, he was too optimistic. It would've killed him at some point, even if his body would remain intact.
Maybe it was for the better.
She doesn't know how much time has passed. She sat on the floor just like that, her head resting on Yuu's cold hand, tears drying on her pale cheeks. Slowly, her breath came back to normal and she was left exhausted.
At some point, she felt Suguru's gentle touch over one of her shoulders, right before he dragged the sheets higher, over Yuu's face. They shared a few words. Suguru telling Nanami to rest after another fit, his voice echoing in her ears — now she was aware of everything.
"Satoru took over the mission," she heard Geto's usual soft tone.
Right. It all happened because of a mission that was wrongly labeled as second-grade. A dull feeling of rage and resentment made a nest in her heart.
Now, she was looking somewhere in the void, one of her hands dropped in her own lap, the other one still clutching desperately onto Haibara. From the corner of her eyes, she spotted Kento, still sitting in the same position she found him in.
"Kento," she breathed out faintly. "Are you wounded?"
"It doesn't matter."
His voice was rough and he probably took advantage of how stuck she's been in her own thoughts for so long, his tears soaking the cloth over his eyes.
"Don't throw a tantrum at me, you know it matters."
Or maybe do. If it makes you feel better, I'd rather have you yell in my face.
It wasn't even a scolding, the words spoken lifelessly, even if they were filled with honesty. She always cared too much. It always mattered too much for her.
Naomi picked herself up from the floor, avoiding looking at the big patch of blood she stared at earlier. With small steps, she made her way in between Nanami's spread legs. The same hands that clutched onto Yuu now caressed the blonde boy's shoulders. His body tensed under her feather-like touch. She was aware of her helplessness and how worthless those gestures might be, but she didn't know any better.
It was better to coax some reactions out of him than let him die on the inside, even if it seemed like she's worsening his condition.
"Do you have any wounds?"
"Stop."
The edge in his voice was more obvious, as if he was about to lash out. He bit at his own chapped lips.
"Don't be an asshole now, you can't use reversed cursed energy." One of her hands lifted from his shoulders, trying to take that towel off of his face. Suddenly, anxiety got the best of her and she thought he might even be missing an eye or worse. "Tell me—"
His long fingers curled painfully around Naomi's wrist and she winced at the strength he used to stop her. However, she didn't try to shake his touch off.
"I'm not wounded, alright?! I couldn't even protect him and you're worried about me? I'd rather be slapped across the face or killed right now!"
He lifted his head up, the white cloth falling from his face onto his thigh. His bright green eyes were filled with too many feelings for her to distinguish anything besides pain. Powerful and unrelenting pain. His eyebrows were pulled together.
"Right," he lowered his gaze to the floor, the grip around her wrist softening. "I should've been the one to die there."
Kento never spoke without thinking twice, but it was exactly what he was doing at that moment.
"Don't spit bullshit, Kento. You make his death seem meaningless."
When he tried to look at Yuu's covered body, she made one step to the side, getting in his way.
"Shit, no," she let out an exasperated sigh. "I didn't mean it that way. It's not your fault, Kento, stop thinking that."
"Then who the fuck's fault is it?!" he raised his voice at her, angry.
"It's those higher ups' fault! Listen for once, for the hell of it! If there wouldn't be repercussions, I'd go and slaughter them all!"
This time, her fingers squeezed his shoulder. The wrath she felt earlier was fueled by the dark thoughts running through her head. Her turquoise eyes were brighter than usual only because of the tears that dried on her cheeks, even if they were red, her eyelids puffy.
"I'm just a fool. Why would their stupid rules stop me from doing it anyway?" she let out a sour laugh.
Her shoulders dropped and she gulped. Kento let go of her hand, her arm falling by her side.
She wasn't reckless in that moment solely because she knew Yuu would've never found it as a solution. Realistically, she didn't do anything because she was a coward.
They deserved to die for not being able to take better care of their students, of children who didn't know better than to be reckless and hope for the best. It was their fault and their heads deserved to be at level with their feet.

HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY book review
*bf's name* I'm sorry baby. I really wanted to like this book but it made it very difficult for me.
To start off I give it 2/5 stars and I'm being generous. Like, this book had everything that needed to be an actually good and enjoyable book but decided not to take advantage of them(?!) This book was a page turner in all the wrong ways.
I do not recommend this book. It's worth reading only if you don't mind bad endings and poorly written characters.
⚠️ Spoilers ahead ⚠️
The entire plot is wonderful "a girl trying to take revenge for her mother's death so she's killing everyone for her dad's side of the family". Amazing! *chef's kiss*!
The way she described each murder is amazing. How she made them look like an accident. I especially loved the chapter where she killed her uncle. So classy.
But alas, to no avail. She wanted to take revenge ever since she was, what?, 7 or 10, and she started actually killing at 18. She was goal orientated and very cold blooded. BUT STILL she only had antisocial tendencies. And not psychopathic/sociopathic like she should. Everyone's saying that she is extremely unlikable but I'm arguing that she should be even more unlikable. Because she's too funny and kinda relatable to a point, and it should NOT be like that. She should be a full on sociopath, scary to the core, but FUCKING STILL.
I strongly believe that the author wrote the book, read it through, realized she had no character whatsoever and just decided to slap the subplot of her liking her childhood friend just because. Tf is that
Also WHAT THE ACTUALLY FUCKING FUCK was the last few chapters with the secret half brother. I was reading it through and I was praying it was him that killed their father. And it was but he hired fucking KELLY to blackmail her so she won't kill him/ steal his new money?!?! WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING FUCK whY did the author choose tHAT as the ending of the book?! How many braincells did you kill to write something like that?
I'm sure I have more shit to say but, again, I don't remember anything else but I would love to hear your opinion on the book so feel free to comment or DM me^^

Sweet Tooth: Season 2--Thoughts
Tumblr media
SPOILER ALERT: I am so bad at keeping things spoiler free and having them make sense, so if you haven’t seen the show/new season, I suggest you don’t read. Honestly, I really liked this season just as much as the first. There wasn’t a lot I didn’t like about it.  All the hybrid kids are so adorable! I tried to find more info about them since I was curious if any of them were deaf or HoH since the hybrids use ASL since some cannot talk and when a few of them talked it sounded to me like they had a “deaf accent”. But I can’t find much info on the children actors, other than that one girl Maya, who is played by Amie Donald,  played Meagan in the movie M3GAN.
Dr. Singh really had a rough go being forced to find a cure for the Sick and being forced to deprive himself of sleep so he could find a cure faster. Compared to the first season, he seemed a bit unhinged by the end of this season and Rani left him since she was so tired of fighting off the Sick for the last nine years. Their relationship does have its sweet moments though ends bittersweet for them. Bitter for Adi but Sweet for Rani.
I went searching on ao3 to see if there was any fanfiction for this fandom and there is, but only in double digits last I checked. But I don’t know why there are people out there shipping a ten year old with a grown man...that just is so disturbing! The relationship between Jepp and Gus is purely platonic and if anything father-son bond, so I don’t know what some people are seeing! The whole backstory of Jepp and why he joined the Last Men initially, I totally understand why. The man is a family man, he was looking for his family! Literally would go to the ends of the world to find them. And I felt so bad for him when he found what became of them.  And I loved seeing more of Becky; nearly forgot about the whole plotline with her sister being a hybrid and that was the entire reason she created the Animal Army to protect hybrids. The sisters reunited, although I don’t think her younger sister is all that ready to admit that some of her birth family is still alive.
Tumblr media
Also, why is John such a common name for some really great characters? I know he’s more of a secondary character, but I loved this guy! Literally every time he was on screen, there were moments that just made me go “Aww” either in sympathy or how adorable he is.  As I watched this season, you can tell Johnny is a good guy inside but tries to hide it since he is siding with Abbott. Literally caught onto this within the first episode or so. The actor Marlon Williams does such a good job with his facial expressions.  Oh, but why is he on Abbott’s side you may ask...well because they are brothers. I really don’t know why, I have a thing about brotherly relationships in movies and shows; I love watching how they pan out. This relationship between Johnny and Dougie was difficult to watch to be honest, and didn’t end well on either of their ends. Anyway, I am starting to ramble, so I will stop now.

Loveless: Alice Oseman Book Review
Loveless is a book written by Alice Oseman (creator and writer of Heartstopper.) We followed the main character, Georgia as she desperately tries to fall in love with someone, anyone.
This book is really personal to me.
There are so many things I loved about this book. I related to Georgia so much. Especially in Part One of the book. I just saw so much of me in her. I vividly remember being in High school and just looking for anyone to have a crush on. But it just never happened… not without me forcing it anyway. Just like Georgia. We really get a sense of her isolation during the first couple of chapters and her confusion regarding her sexuality and romantic orientation.
Hands down, my favourite characters were Pip and Sunil. Pip’s just Chaotic Good in a nutshell. Sunil was just amazing and so patient with Georgia. I think that the best thing about Sunil, was that he realised what Georgia was going through and answered her questions when she had any about being ace, even comforted her after she fell out with Pip.
Speaking of Pip, I loved her enemies to lovers dynamic with Rooney. It was just so funny seeing the two of them fight (flirt) and everyone else being fed up with them and just wishing that they’d get together. I think my favourite part of the book was right before the end before the performance for the Shakespeare Society, and Pip and Rooney just start making out with Georgia watching them like:
Tumblr media
Another thing that I really liked about this book, was how romantic love wasn’t really one of the main focus’ of it. Towards the end of the book, we see that big declarations of love don’t just have to be romantic, they can be platonic too. The realisation that platonic relationships are even more important to aromantic people just speaks volumes about how we should treasure that kind of love just as much as romantic love.
I think that Oseman was really clever with the end of the book too, it was almost fairytale like. And a perfect end to it as well.
Regarding what I disliked about the book, I feel that certain aspects were rushed, like when Jason and Georgia made up. The way that the two made up felt a little bit too forced and a bit too unreal for me.
Partly, I also think that Osemans’ writing style isn’t really for me. The book itself is well written if we’re talking about the actual writing. For me it felt a bland, but that’s probably just a me thing.
However, the pros outweighed the cons of the book and I really enjoyed the story. If you’re seeking a good book about discovering who you are and learning to accept yourself as you are, then this is a book for you.

My take on what the preview for episode 11 might mean for those who want it:
Not spoiler free, as it references some bts material for a not yet shown scene, that is up to interpretation.
This take is influenced by some bts material that has not yet been used in another scene, of where a staff paints bruises on Xun-an’s torso. It’s in this video, at 1:21min, for those who want to see.
I think Jin Xun-an might have some kind of accident that leads to those injuries, on his own, or at least without Bai Lang present. If the driving distracted by love was possibly foreshadowing, the accident might happen – I don’t think it’s a car accident, tho – when Xun-an is distracted by Bai Lang. Maybe after getting off the phone with him.
(Lol, he might fall of a horse persuing his solitairy hobby, and therefore they must only do horseriding together from then on lol... this is prompted by a viki thumbnail for the last ep that might show them kissing in riding hats.)
That might be a crucial detail why Xun-an will decide to not tell Bai Lang about this accident, for a while. As to not trigger Bai Lang’s trauma, and further irrational thoughts of his, that he is in a way cursed, and people around him have accidents, because they are loved by him, so soon after he finally mustered the courage to choose love despite his trauma.
Xun-An might keep his distance for a few days, till the bruises are healed, and when Bai Lang hugs him at the car where he says I missed you so much, and Xun-an pushes him off, it might be because the hug aggravates his injuries.
Bai Lang’s question Are you keeping something from me? and Xun-an’s guilty hesitation might be because of the decision to not mention his accident.
There’s a learning arc in there, for Xun-an about sharing burdens and your pain as a two way street, and to not underestimate Bai Lang and not over-shelter him, but this is a scenario that I could actually see happening.
I’ll take what they will give me either way and I trust them to make it good, but this is my take, let’s see if they are happily misleading us with the preview again. I say all of that with caution and love, lol.
