ppl are so quick to modify and soften and put qualifiers on aromantic people’s statements. i’ll say “love loses” and here come seven thousand people in the notes going “funny joke but love is good actually!” “romantic love loses but not platonic love platonic love is great!” “but platonic love is still good though…” no actually i said what i meant the first fucking time. is it so hard to let someone just say something ever

Ok I’m freaking out over the quirk shenanigans going by on in this chapter… but isn’t it something that Overhaul with his disassemble/reassemble quirk didn’t give two shits about his underlings’ health and wellbeing since he could put them back together if he needed them…
…but Tomura with only the modified disassemble part of that quirk treated his team like they were precious and worth fighting for?

a lot of ppl are telling me “but its in character that TBK would kill TRG, what else could they have done” and i need to stress that my issue is not about characterisation or in-universe justification. it's simply that this kind of writing is not narratively interesting to me! i want a plot that furthers the development of the main characters and challenges them! i want thematic engagement!
they've done it before like the bad kids faced their worst fears in fhsy and changed for the better!! in a season where rage/war is the enemy, it makes thematic sense for the solution to NOT be pure combat, IN SPITE of all the circumstances that demand it. and i didnt even really need THAT like i didn’t need TRG to be fully redeemed i just needed the barest engagement with them as character foils and the themes they present

thinking about Luffy somehow confronting Akainu and while Luffy is taking it seriously, he's not all that concerned about himself or his crew fighting the admiral. he knows they can hold their own.
but Sabo shows up. and Luffy's not really one to worry about his older brother because he knows just how strong Sabo is. Luffy was never once able to beat him as a kid and now he's got haki and devil fruit powers, plus Rev training. but... but Luffy knows first hand that Sabo's devil fruit is practically useless against Akainu...
and maybe Luffy starts to have flashbacks mid-battle and has to take a moment to go to Sabo and be like. no. Sabo no. you are not allowed to fight him. I love you but please don't do this. do not make me watch another brother die.
don't know where I'm going with this but I just had the thought in my head of Luffy having a panic attack or something while seeing Sabo try to fight Akainu and just Not Allowing It. not in a "oh Sabo you're too weak to fight him" way but instead in a "I literally cannot handle the thought of him killing another one of my brothers in front of me" way
