something that i think about a lot is how often the features transgender women are mocked (or look down on themselves for) frequently are features i see on like. a majority of my cis women family and friends. literally like ill see trans women say the most horrendous things about their appearance (not their fault, insecurities are hard to reason with and they live in this transmisogynist hellscape that convinces them of that) and its just like. you look like a girl i knew in middle school. you look like a younger version of my aunt. you look like the lady from the grocery store. you look like someone i knows sister. i know everyone here on tumblr.edu knows about how shitty beauty standards are but it still just!!! astounds me. the sheer disconnect between the average woman in media and the women i know in real life... 😐 not even just the looks but the way their personalities are written and everything like. jesus fucking christ. okay i took a tangent there but like. it makes me want to rip things you know. but back to what i was saying that + the way transmisogyny is just such a poison on everything. a lot of features ppl consider like "bad" on women are just women in their ""natural"" state or whatever. also not discrediting the violent extreme way it (transmisogyny) effects transgender women like im not saying that it effects everyone to discount that but i cant understand people who try to disconnect gendered social issues from trans people entirely because you fucking can not! we live in this society !!! haters hate to see it but we do. LMAO anyway. thats just something im thinking about
