more and more nights like these
this piece was requested by @i-write-or-something !! thank you so much for the request!!
pairings: reddie, benverly, platonic bevchie
words: 1k
summary: bev and richie being friends talking drunkenly about how much they love their partners then go home to the loves of their lives!! post-ch2 fix it fic
LA was leagues away from Derry. Richie often thought that that had always been his favorite thing about it. There were no harsh winters, no small town bullies, and no fucking killer demon clowns—at least, as far as he was aware. LA was sunny and alive and let Richie be who he was. The traffic sucked, but other than that it was nearly perfect. But all those years between, Richie had still felt a hole LA couldn’t fill. Well, six holes to be exact.
He could hardly believe he’d ended up here, lounging on a couch in some needlessly upscale bar with his childhood best friend draped across his lap, her bright red hair fanned out over his jeans. LA was way better now that he had her here, now that he had Eddie sleeping in his bed with him and Ben building Bev a house up the coast, Bill and Mike only a couple hours away. They were still working on convincing Patty and Stan of the merits of the west coast, but Richie could get that; they were all cozy in Georgia, with friends and book clubs and cushy jobs and domestic serenity. Still, he could tell Stan was considering it, and he was pretty sure he’d made a good impression on Patty. So he kept his fingers crossed.
Bev was loving LA. The beach breezes were so much kinder than the winds in Chicago that seemed to pick a fight with you just when you really needed to be somewhere. It also helped to be so physically close to her clients. Richie and Bill had introduced her to some producers they knew, so she was even stepping out of her comfort zone, flexing her creativity by working on some costume design. And of course, LA had her friends. Most importantly, LA had Ben.
The two of them lived together in a downtown apartment for now, but Ben had been looking up open land plots before their plane had even landed, and now there were the beginnings of a house in a little nook of a town about an hour’s drive north of the city. Their apartment was filled with pictures of the two of them together, of their friends. There were only a few right now, but Bev was looking forward to filling their new home with nothing but years and years of love and good memories.
The vodka running through her had her saying as much to Richie. “I’m so glad you convinced us all to come out here.”
“West coast, best coast, baby!” Richie beamed, stroking his fingers through her hair. Beverly giggled and shoved at his face, both of them flopping around the couch like noodles.
“I’m serious! It’s so much nicer here, I can’t believe I never thought of it. And I know Ben loves it, too. I think this much sun really suits him. Did you know he has blonde highlights now? God, he’s so beautiful.”
Richie laughed as he watched Bev’s eyes become wistfully far away. But he understood that feeling. “I feel ya, Eddie’s got this perpetual tan now. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him tan before, I guess it was all that sunscreen he put on as a kid. I can hardly think whenever I see him. My brain just short circuits, he’s like an actual Adonis.”
“Okay, okay, stop before you get a boner,” Bev teased, smacking him on the chest.
“Oh, so you get to talk about your hottie with a body but I can’t talk about my cutie with a booty?”
“I should punch you on Eddie’s behalf.”
Richie laughed at that. “Yeah, probably. God, I love him.”
“I know,” Bev sighed softly. “He loves you, too. I’m so happy for you two.”
“I’m happy for you! Ben’s pulling a fucking Notebook for you! What kind of Nicholas Sparks dream life are you two living?”
Bev giggled, her cheeks going pink. “God, yeah, I know.” After a moment of content silence between them, she said, “I really, really love him.”
“I don’t think any living person could love someone more than he loves you. Except me. I definitely love Eddie more. But it’s okay, it’s not a competition.” Bev giggled and sat up then to ruffle his hair, sending the pair into another fit of giggles that ended with them stumbling out of the bar, completely wrapped in each other’s arms, arguing who was more excited to get home and see their partner.
***
Bev loved coming home. And she loved loving coming home. She wasn’t sure there had ever been a point in her life where she’d been not only relieved but excited to come home. She always had to tread carefully, always had to be ready. Coming home finally felt the way it was supposed to.
The house wasn’t eerily still when she came home, but peacefully quiet. And there was no menacing figure lurking by the lighted lamp, it was only on so that she would be able to make her way to the bedroom. When she got there, she found Ben fast asleep. She smiled softly to herself as she quietly toed off her shoes. Ben always looked sweet, but he looked especially adorable when he slept. The way his face pressed into the pillow made his lips pucker in a little pout, gave his cheeks that softness she’d always loved when they were kids. She shucked off her clothes and crawled into bed, the sheets cool against her warm skin. She felt so fuzzy all over, so content and so, so happy as she pressed herself against Ben. He stirred a bit, waking up just enough to open his arms for her. He gave her a sleepy, “Hi, baby,” as he wrapped his arms around her.
“Hi,” Bev grinned. She pressed a kiss to his nose before snuggling into his embrace. She smiled into his chest, firm and soft, and drifted off into a deep, satisfied sleep.
***
A few miles away, Richie was arriving home much less gracefully. Eddie had left some lights on for him, but he still managed to trip on his way up the stairs. Because of this, Eddie was sitting up and rubbing his eyes when Richie made it to the bedroom. “Sorry about that,” Richie stage whispered.
Eddie gave him a sleepy, amused grin. “You didn’t break anything, did you? Your hip? The cat?”
“Nope,” Richie said, popping the P as he fumbled to get out of his clothes. “All in one piece.” His heart soared as Eddie reached for him, making a grabby motion as he pouted. Richie happily jumped into bed, making a mess of the sheets that he had to sort out before pulling Eddie into him.
“Did you have fun?” Eddie asked. He pressed soft kisses to Richie’s shoulder and chest as Richie stroked his hair.
“Oh, yeah. We ordered strippers.”
Eddie barely gave him a hum. “That so?”
Richie snorted. “Nah, we talked about how much I love you. And how much she loves Ben. But mostly how much I love you, you know me.”
Richie glowed as he felt Eddie grinning against his skin. “You fucking sap.”
“You love it.”
“Mhmm, I really do.”
“Aw, now who’s the sap?” Richie began attacking Eddie with kisses, earning himself a smack to the chest.
“Richie! Stop!” Eddie laughed, wriggling away. “You reek of rum, go brush your teeth and let me sleep.” But he was pulling Richie in and kissing him even as he said it, and Richie could feel him smiling against his lips.
Fuck, he was glad this wasn’t a bachelor pad anymore. He wanted more and more nights like these, he wanted to fall asleep like this every night for the rest of his life. And you know what? He probably would. And that made him beam as he stumbled into the bathroom, his body buzzing partly from the alcohol, but mostly from Eddie.
Richie could deal with the traffic; LA was perfect now.

Losers Club Plus One Part 10
A Richie Tozier x daughter!reader series
Read the previous part here or go here for the full series masterlist.
A/N: Hi there! It’s been a while, I know, and I’m truly sorry! There has been so much going on in my life and I simply lost my motivation to write. However, thanks to a very dear person, I have regained said motivation and I am here to give y’all some content! The next part is already being worked on and I hope to publish it very soon!
Anyway, this is about 3k words long. I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Bill, we’re at the library. Where are you?” Mike asked the second Bill answered his phone. The incomplete Losers Club Plus One was gathered around him, trying to listen in on what they were talking about. To say that they were worried was an understatement. But the fact that Bill had picked up was relieving, to say the least. It meant that he was still with them. It meant that IT hadn’t gotten to him. It meant that he was more or less safe. It meant that Bill was still alive and not doing anything too stupid.
“IT took a-a little k-k-kid- IT k-killed a little k-kid right in fucking front of me.” Bill sounded distraught, heartbroken. He had been crying, probably still was crying. Y/N, who was close enough to Mike to listen in on the conversation, especially felt a strong urge in her to just hug the man and tell him that it wasn’t his fault. Because it really wasn’t. But Bill thought differently. It was his fault that Georgie was taken by IT, Georgie had been taken because he hadn’t been there. And Dean, the little kid, had been killed because Bill hadn’t been fast enough. It was Bill’s fault, in his mind, and it would always be.
“No, no, no, no, no,” Mike jumped out of his seat. He had known Bill when he was a kid, he knew that Bill often made stupid decisions, and Mike was sure that Bill’s want to protect the Losers from IT was kicking in just then. If there was one thing each of them remembered about Bill, it was his unintentional heroism as he was trying to protect his friends.
“Look, just come back to the library, we can talk about the plan-“
“I’m gonna go kill IT. I don’t want any of you to get near IT. I’m gonna kill IT.” Bill said through gritted tears before hanging up, falling into a quick jog towards Silver. It was only a matter of seconds until he and Silver were fast enough to beat the devil. And the devil, they would beat.
“He’s gonna fight IT alone. Alone!” Mike said, almost as though he was concluding the very short call he and Bill just had. Mike was scared. Not only for Bill who was driven to do the stupidest things, all by Pennywise, but he was also scared for the rest of his friends. The people who had once gone down the drain with him, explored the sewers with him, fought IT with him. But most importantly, he felt scared for the new generation. Because if they failed now, if the ritual didn’t work and all of them were to end up dead, what hope did the children have left? IT would continue to attack children, eat children, tear families apart.
“What?” Richie mumbled more to himself than anyone else. And, almost as though he had the same train of thought as Mike, he looked at his daughter. The girl he had watched as she grew up and had taken care of nearly every day of her life. He felt his heart drop to the pit of his stomach as he thought of the things IT would do should he and his friends fail to kill IT once and for all. Or, should she be able to escape Derry, the things she would have to live through as she got back home to LA. Would she be able to provide for herself? Who could she go to once he was gone? How would she handle all the paperwork? And oh, all those moments ahead of her that he was going to miss. Graduations, relationships, first jobs, first travels, all the accomplishments and big events in her life that he would miss. The moments that would fill her with pride but also shatter her heart if he wasn’t there.
Y/N looked up at Richie. Her mind was blank with pure worry. She hadn’t thought further than what would happen to Bill just yet, but maybe it was for the better. Maybe it was better that she didn’t worry her head with too many consequences and the horrors of IT, the true horrors of IT that she had yet to face.
“It’s- it’s about the group. The ritual doesn’t work without the group. Doing it together was why it worked.” Mike’s fear was growing, steadily consuming him. Like a shadow covering the little light of hope, he had left after noticing that the remainder of his friends had come to the library. He had felt so hopeful when he saw all of their faces, despite the horrid circumstances, in the library, knowing that they had gotten their tokens, knowing that they would face IT with him. He had trusted Bill to come back as well, he knew that Big Bill was known to stick to his friends. Leaving them to fend for themselves was not like Bill. Not at all. This wasn’t Big Bill talking, this was Bill, the author with the childhood trauma, talking. The man who had no idea how to properly end a book. They needed to show him how it’s done.
Y/N was gnawing at her thumb. It was sore and it stung a little, but it provided her comfort. Not much, but every single bit of comfort was more than welcome. Eddie saw, and pushed her arm down, hoping it would pull her out of her thoughts and get her to stop hurting herself. A million arguments as to why she shouldn’t do that, shouldn’t nibble at her nails when she was nervous, ran through his mind, he was ready to spill them out, but he bit his tongue. Y/N surely didn’t need that right now. She needed someone to take care of her. She needed her father.
With anxious eyes, Eddie searched for Richie.
Richie, lost in his thoughts and fears, wasn’t one to quickly notice. He didn’t even properly listen in on what the Losers were talking about. He heard Ben speak. Voice raspy, heavy with worry. Then Bev. Her voice was airy, light like she didn’t want anyone to hear her words because she didn’t want them to be true.
Richie looked up. He noticed that he hadn’t heard either of his loves speak up in a while. His gaze landed on Eddie immediately.
The man had slung one arm very awkwardly around his daughter, almost like Eddie wasn’t sure of his role in that particular moment, nor did he seem very confident with it. Both Eddie and Y/N were looking at Richie with raised brows and huge eyes. They resembled a pair of helpless puppies in a way.
With a few quick strides, Richie reached the pair and pulled his little girl close to him. Y/N leaned against her father. It felt strangely foreign and yet so natural to be so close to him. Her whole body seemed to still be a little confused with what was going on, how to feel about Richie, how to act around him. But Y/N knew him. And she knew his comfort. Richie was something to hold on to. Someone who had always been there. Father or not, she needed to feel at home. And that was exactly what Richie was.
Home.
“Oh, we’re not going to like this, are we?” Eddie asked, making Richie and Y/N listen in on the conversation around them again.
Y/N looked at the group. Everyone suddenly seemed much tenser. Arms crossed, faces cold, almost sorrowful looks in their eyes. Sighing, and then-
“Fuck.” Y/N whispered as something clicked in her mind. Shit was about to go down.
Derry had turned dark. Very dark. But not only the sky had lost its light, the occasional lightning on the horizon being an exception, but the town itself seemed to change. It was like the town had become one of ghosts. Barely a soul left a trace. Very few windows were lit. It was like time had stopped around Derry and no one was alive, or at least truly waking anymore. Everyone except for the Losers Club Plus One.
Y/N found herself feeling more and more like she was asleep. She couldn’t say it had been since arriving in town. Coming to Derry was strange. It was like she had started reading a book from the middle. She had a very small knowledge of what has been happening and tiny snippets of explanations were thrown her way, but nothing really. It just wasn’t enough. And the more she lost herself in the book, the twisted storylines and the even more confusing actions of the characters, the more she felt like nothing was real. Like whatever was happening wasn’t really happening and she had actually fallen asleep while reading a book.
But every book also had an ending. And not all of them were happy endings.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about, squirt?” Richie broke the silence in the car. Richie and Y/N were riding together, just like Mike and Ben and Bev and Eddie. All of the pairs were ready to beat silver. Desperate to beat silver.
“Don’t know… Just… This place, I guess. It’s strange, isn’t it?” Y/N looked at her father. His face, every now and then illuminated by the scarce light of the streetlights all around Derry, seemed so young, yet he didn’t act like he usually did. Even Richie ‘Trashmouth’ Tozier seemed to be intimidated by the situation he found himself in.
“It is. And I never missed it.”
“You couldn’t even remember it until Mike called.”
“Because I didn’t want to.”
“So you didn’t want to remember Eddie either?” Y/N smirked.
“Damn you, squirt. Sometimes I really wish your mom would have swallowed.”
Silence.
“Do you think things will change when we get home? Like between us?” Y/N asked curiously. But there was a sliver of hurt in her voice. Richie sighed.
“I don’t think anything is going to change unless we make a change. If you don’t want things to change between us, they don’t have to. We can act like Derry never happened when we get home. We can forget about all of this.”
It was strange hearing Richie speak all wise and serious. But it felt nice. It felt nice knowing that he took Y/N and her worries seriously and didn’t just flip them off as irrelevant.
“I don’t think I want to forget.” Y/N mumbled more to herself than to her father.
Richie’s car caught up with the other two. He hadn’t noticed how far they had fallen behind until he noticed that he could barely see the other cars before them. That’s when he sped. And it felt nice. It felt like he finally regained at least a little control over something. The last time he felt so powerless and so small compared to the world was when he entered the house on Neibolt Street for the first time. When he saw how Eddie got hurt. When he tried to reposition Eddie’s broken arm and was trapped in the same room as IT.
When the group split up for the first time.
When everything somehow shifted. And they were the world’s oldest 13-year olds.
“I can see Bill!” Y/N exclaimed, sitting up straight in her car seat, hand shooting to the seat belt buckle.
“Fuck.” Richie said as he watched Bill pushing a bike away. Was that silver? Richie was sure that he somehow had gotten his trusted bike back. How exactly, Richie didn’t know. Things had a way of coming back in Derry. But it wasn’t important. What was important was getting back together.
“Bill!” Beverly yelled, effectively stopping Bill. He turned to look at her just as he was about to enter the house.
Y/N felt like she was trapped inside a bad horror movie. The house she was facing was dark, the wood it was made of looked like it defied the laws of nature as it still stood. Y/N felt like she should feel silly, she should not be able to take this house seriously. It was the definition of a bad idea, but somehow, she felt compelled to show respect. Something about it felt intimidatingly evil. She knew the house would be no good, but she didn’t expect the place they would fight IT in to be looking as shabby yet scary.
“No!” Bill yelled back as he watched the group step closer to him and the building. They all were there. Bev, Mike, Ben, Eddie, Richie, even Y/N. Y/N, who was just a little older than they were when they first encountered IT.
Bill felt tears stinging in his eyes. He didn’t want to risk his friends’ lives again. And he for sure didn’t want to be the reason another kid had to go through what he and his friends did. Or – worst of all – he didn’t want to risk seeing another kid die because of him.
“N-no, you guys, no. I st-st-started all this. I-It’s m-my fault that y-you’re all here. Th-this curse, this fucking thing- It’s inside you all. It’s s-started growing the day I m-m-made you all go down to the barrens. Bec-cause all I cared about was finding G-Georgie. Now I’m gonna go in there, I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but I c-can’t ask you to d-do this.” Bill sounded distraught.
Y/N, subliminally, wrapped her arms around her father’s right arm. Richie acknowledged it, pulling her a little closer, but remained silent as they watched Bill fall apart with the pent-up guilt. The guilt he had been living with, sometimes more and sometimes less consciously, over the past 28 years.
Bill made eye contact with Y/N. He looked at her and saw so much potential in her. So much life, so much she had yet to give the world. And he felt sorry that she was there. He felt sorry for the pain she had endured over the past hours. Physically and mentally. Bill felt sorry for the wounds and the scars that, ultimately, he was to blame for. Because none of this would have happened if he had listened to his father. If he had stopped looking for Georgie. Or better yet, if he never acted sick to avoid playing with Georgie.
Had Bill not been so selfish, Georgie would still be alive.
“But you’re not asking us.” Y/N told Bill. “We’re here because we want to be. All of us could have left, we are free to go. But we didn’t.”
Bill sighed, running a hand through his hair to push it back. It felt sweaty, his whole head felt heated and the slight breeze of evening air felt nice. Relieving.
Richie looked funnily at his daughter. A part of him was scared she might tell the story of how they almost left if it wasn’t for Stan the man. Another part of him, however, registered that she wanted to be there. Be there, at Neibolt, with them. And it scared him to death. Nausea washed over him again and Richie had a hard time not showing just that.
Beverly picked up something from the ground. Something long and rusty. To all the Losers, it seemed to make sense, seemed to be a missing piece from a puzzle. Only Y/N watched on, visibly confused.
“Well, we’re not asking you either,” Beverly replied.
“We didn’t do this alone then, Bill. So, we’re not gonna do this alone now.” Mike added.
“Losers stick together.” Ben.
A pregnant pause. The air was thick with tension as the Losers made it clear that Big Bill wouldn’t go in there on his own. Like they had proven to one another once before. When they were nothing more than a mismatched group of kids that fit together perfectly.
The only sounds outside the house were crickets chirping in the night, an occasional roll of thunder and the wind lightly blowing through the grass. No one dared to speak up. No one dared to say another word. But not all words had been spoken yet. Each Loser was just waiting for the next move. The words that would decide how they were to proceed.
“So, does somebody wanna say something?” Eddie broke the silence. And with that, decisions were made. The Losers would, once more, stick together.
“Richie said it b-b-best when we were here last.” Bill replied, looking at Richie expectantly. Richie now looked taken aback. He couldn’t remember ever saying the right thing at the right moment. Even Y/N looked at her father, a hint of curiosity on her otherwise confused face.
“I did?” Richie asked, still not remembering. He felt the Losers’ eyes on him, all of them waiting to hear the familiar words again. Richie thought for a moment.
“I don’t wanna die?” he asked. His daughter loosened her grip on him and shrugged a little.
“Very reasonable.” She mumbled to herself.
“Not that.” Bill’s voice sounded hoarse. A few moments of silence as Richie thought again, trying to remember what he said that day.
“You’re lucky we’re not measuring dicks?” The Losers looked at Richie, unimpressed. Y/N, however, had to fight back her giggle, but a tiny snort escaped the girl. She couldn’t hold herself back at the unexpected and yet so typical statement from the man she grew up with.
“No…” The Trashmouth whispered to himself as his friends failed to answer. The group seemed to ease up a little despite the situation they found themselves in.
“Let’s kill this fucking clown?” Bill grinned at that. The Trashmouth had found his words.
“Let’s kill this fucking clown!” Richie repeated, this time more eager. With that, the group found their spirit. The Losers Club was back and ready to kill a bitch. With that, the Losers entered the house that they knew was potentially the last place they would visit.

Stanley Uris x Reader
Request:  Requestttt fluff Stanley Uris x Readerrrrr
Submitted by @mk-tozier
Summary: You and Stan go on a date and share some cuddles.
Warnings: None. Maybe just fluff as a warning?
Words: 2.6k
(Not my gif)
Tumblr media
The day had been an absolute scorcher. The sun bore down with a blistering heat for the entire time it had been out, morning till evening. There had been no clouds as far as the eye could see.
You had spent the early morning with Stanley, apart from the Loser’s Club for the first time in a very long time. Don’t take it the wrong way, you loved them all dearly, they were the people closest to you besides your own flesh and blood, but sometimes they could wear your patience down rather quickly. Richie with his constant inappropriate jokes, Eddie with his constant worrying, Ben with his pining after Beverly, Beverly being oblivious to Ben’s huge crush and pining over Bill.
The only members that ever seemed to be your saving grace were Mike and Stanley. You were pretty good friends with Mike, you were always there to lend a hand to one another or a kind ear if needed. And Stanley? Well... He was the light of your life, your rock in a hard place, your salvation when you were lost.
Always one of the maturer members of the losers club, it was no wonder that you and the curly haired boy had gravitated towards each other. You spent more and more time with one another, in your own little bubble. Most days Stan would sit with you, apart from the others, teaching you to identify different birds that commonly flew over the skies of Maine, and he had to admit you were quite good at it. So far you could identify the Black-capped chickadee, the Common eider, the Gray catbird, the Blue Jay, as well as the Yellow-rumped warbler. Your progress could be slow at times- there were days when the birds moved too fast for you to see what the patterns on their feathers were, but it was better than no progress at all, at least you showed interest in the activity.
You had really started to spend a lot of time together once school had ended. Stan would take you out bike riding to little secluded spots in the woods, or you’d both go out to the shops together and get a few packets of sweets with your pocket money- despite your parent’s protests. So when Stanley had turned up on your doorstep on that scorching Saturday afternoon, it hadn’t surprised you at all. The curly haired boy gave you a shy smile. “Hey, Y/N...” He greeted, fairly cheerfully for his shy demeanour. “Hey, Stan,” You replied, leaning up against the door-frame of your front door as you spoke. “What brings you here today?” You questioned, quirking a brow playfully at him, which immediately caused his smile to widen quite a bit. He adored all the little facial expressions you did when talking to him, he found them quite adorable. “Well, I know it’s hot out, but I was wondering if you’d want to go to the diner with me, and get a milkshake to share?” He offered, gesturing over his shoulder as he spoke, presumably towards his bike which was leant neatly against it’s stand just off the pavement, barely scraping against the border of your front garden.”As like... A date?”
“Yeah, sure,” You responded with a warm smile and a light shrug. You barely had to even consider his offer before accepting, you could never pass up an opportunity to hang out with Stan, and this newly added romantic element just made you want his company more. “Let me just go grab my bike, I’ll meet you round the side of the house,” You told him gleefully, and with his enthusiastic nod of confirmation, you reluctantly shut the door and dashed through your home. As you retrieved your bike from it’s home in your shed, you began to suppose that perhaps the romantic element of your relationship with Stan wasn’t really a new thing, you’d begun to have feelings for the boy for a fair while, but you initially just dismissed it as being really good friends. Now it was beginning to dawn on you that it was more, a lot more than that. You took your bike out of the side gate, round to meet Stan who was patiently waiting for you to join him on the pavement, so you could cycle two abreast on the road into the town centre. It was a familiar route for the two of you, but that didn’t mean it was any less fun. You mounted your bike, swinging one leg over the frame so that you could sit comfortably. Stan was already ready to go, so you both began to push off from the pavement, braving the bump of the curb to settle into cycling at a comfortable pace down the road.
You built up speed rather quickly, Stan falling behind for a moment. “I’m going to beat you!” You called playfully over your shoulder with a laugh. You heard Stanley scoff from behind you. It wasn’t often you got to see the more childish and playful side of Stan- usually he was busy trying to keep the rest of the Losers sane, safe and alive. One could argue that he did as much as the worrying Eddie, if not more. On the rare occasions you did see that side of Stan though, it was the most adorable thing ever, and you could’ve sworn that those moments alone could’ve made you fall for him almost immediately. “Not if I do this!” Stan called out to you, breaking you from your train of thoughts, and making you look over your shoulder briefly. You caught view of Stan standing up on his pedals and pressing down hard and fast. He was gaining quickly on you, a goofy grin on his face showing off each and every one of his front teeth. The sight made you giggle, and you mirrored him, keeping your pole position for just a little while longer.
However, as you pulled onto the main street of Derry- which was surprisingly devoid of traffic despite it being mid afternoon- Stanley’s height finally gave him the advantage. Or, to be more accurate, his long legs gave him an advantage. He slowly drew ahead of you, poking his tongue out at you and keeping up his childish demeanour, for now at least. You knew it probably wouldn’t be too long till the old Stan would resurface- though it wasn’t exactly like you minded.
Stan skidded to a halt on the side of the road, quickly dismounting his bike and hoiking it up onto the pavement, and patiently waiting for you to join him so you could go strap up your bikes besides one another. You joined him soon enough, and thankfully there was a bike rack nearby, with two spare spaces which your bikes fit in perfectly, as per expectation. Stan held the door of the diner for you, gesturing for you to enter the establishment first- he was so polite. You gave him a warm and toothy smile, accompanied with a gentle nod. “Thank you, Stanley,” You said quietly to him, and he soon joined you inside. “So, what would you like? Chocolate? Vanilla? Strawberry?”He said softly to you as you joined the line. You thought for a moment, considering your options. “How about vanilla?” You suggested, and Stan slowly nodded, “Yeah, sure, of course. I’ll pay.” He told you, and when you opened your mouth to protest, he pressed a finger gently to your lips. “I’m paying.” He insisted. You fell silent and began to slowly nod in reply, there was no use arguing. Sure, you’d probably be able to wear him down eventually to let you pay, but that would spoil the mood of the rest of the afternoon, and you were quite sure neither of you wanted that to happen. So, you lapsed into obedient silence, sticking by Stan’s side as you slowly made your way to the front of the line. When you got there, Stan stepped up without a moment’s hesitation, whilst you stepped off to the side to stay out of the way and help prevent congestion. His voice as he ordered your milkshake to share wasn’t the most confident sounding in Derry, but he himself was not entirely confident, around you he could be at times, but there were other times when your actions made him a squishy and nervous mess. How sweet you could be to him, how kind. He adored it, he adored you, more than he’d ever be able to put into words.
He’d confided in Ben a few times about his feelings, the feelings that you gave him, but he always seemed to struggle finding the right lexis.Who would’ve thought, you could make the well-spoken Stanley Uris trip, fumble and stutter over his words. It was a gift that you didn’t take too lightly of course, though sometimes it was a little fun to tease him and see how flustered he could get. His face would go a rosy shade of pink, and he’d have to stop talking for a minute or two. You’d give him a simple yet sweet kiss on the cheek, and wait patiently for him to come back to planet earth, watching him with the sparkle of adoration in your eyes. Stanley cleared his throat, breaking you from your trance-like daydream. He gestured with his head towards a small and empty booth near the window of the shop, his sandy curls bouncing slightly at the movement. “Over there seems like a pretty good spot to me.” He commented, moving out of the way of other customers as he spoke. You  nodded gently, taking his free hand in your own. “Alright, come on then,” You laughed gently, pulling him across the glimmering tile floor towards the booth he had pointed out.
You slid smoothly against the red leather material of the seating as Stan placed the made-for-two milkshake in the centre of the surface that now divided the two of you, where you could both just about reach it.  You took the straw closest to you, taking a small sip from the large beverage. Stan took a slightly larger sip, and winced as his hand went to his temple, massaging the skin gently in circles. “Brain freeze?” You asked teasingly, a knowing smile on your lips. The pure tone of your voice made Stan crack a chuckle. “Maybe.” He replied, just as teasingly. “If you think it’s so funny... I dare you to try and drink as much as I just did and not get a brain freeze.” He challenged you, folding his arms one over the other, and leaning on the table, a wide and almost mischievous smile lining his lips. You hummed quietly, considering the offer. “Alright... But if  manage to do it... I get a kiss from you,” You bartered with him, and he looked a little taken aback by the proposal. “I, uh, what? Wait, how about if you managed to do it, you...” He trailed off for a moment, “Or, rather we, can go back to your place and  cuddle.” He smiled his heavenly sweet smile over in your direction. You barely gave yourself time to consider this offer- a running theme in his oh so sweet suggestions- before you began to nod. “Alright, deal.” You brokered, beginning to grin. This would be easy. Or at least you assumed this would be easy. You were quickly proven wrong however, when you started to try and complete his challenge.
It was after the very first mouthful that you knew you had made a mistake, and understood why Stan had gotten a brain freeze so quickly. Though your small sip a few moments prior had been no trouble at all, a large gulp like this was too much, it was beyond freezing. You tried not to let it show, though, powering through until you were sure you had drunk more than Stanley had done, even if it was only a little bit. Stan was still wearing a very smug look on his face, though. You quirked a brow at him, trying desperately not to wince at the still freezing feeling in the back of your throat. “What?” You asked, rather confused about his expression. “You’re faking it.”  “Am not.” You retorted, not even missing a beat.  “Are too,” He laughed at your expression, which had now become rather grumpy. “Come on, Y/N, I know you. You’re faking not having a brain freeze, I can tell just by looking at your face.” He gestured you as he smiled widely, holding back another laugh. You leant back in your seat with a sigh, “But if I admit to it... Then I won’t be getting cuddles..” You reasoned, pouting ever so slightly as you spoke. Stan seemed to consider this, before giving you a sweet smile and chuckling softly. He adored that you would try to do such a trivial and silly thing just to spend time with him, and be close to him. “Well, I think that just putting that much effort in deserves at least a five minute cuddle...” At this you gave a mild squeak of glee. “Thank you, Stan!” You laughed happily, and you both then made pretty quick work of the milkshake, before sliding back out of the booth and giddily going to collect your bikes.
The ride to the clubhouse seemed quicker than the one going to the diner, which struck you as a little odd. It should have been at least ten minutes longer, and yet it didn’t seem to even chalk up to your original journey. Not that you were complaining- the faster you got to the underground clubhouse the sooner you could hug Stanley- it was just something you realised as you both laid your bikes to rest against a tree or the bike stand already attached to the pedal-powered vehicle. Stan was the one to open the trapdoor and usher you down there, and although the ladder rungs creaked quietly beneath your weight, you were confident they wouldn’t give out from under you. You had faith in Ben’s handiwork. Stan was swift to follow you, coming up behind you and snaking his arms around your waist, making you squeal quietly. You had more expected for him to wait till you both had settled down in the hammock or another seat, but you didn’t mind this, not at all. You giggled softly as you felt him rest his chin on your shoulder, “You know...” You said quietly to him, a smile creeping over your lips as you spoke, “I think we would be a lot more comfortable in the hammock.” For a moment Stan considered this, before nodding and carefully picking you up by your waist. You let him, shifting slightly so you could wrap your arms around his neck for better support. He placed you carefully in the suspended material of the hammock, before maneuvering his way in after you. After a minute or so of scrambling, it ended up that you were cradling Stan’s head in your lap, wrapping some of his curls around your fingers carefully, his eyes shut in a state of bliss. You smiled warmly at the sight of him so relaxed, it wasn’t often you got to see it. After about half an hour sat like that, no words spoken between you for they were not needed, you decided to speak up. The sun’s rays had begun to wane, and you knew you’d have to go your separate ways for another day soon enough.
"Stan... We’ll need to make a move soon..” You told him, trying your best not to break the tranquil air around the two of you. Stan grumbled, shifting slightly so that his warm and loving hazel eyes could stare back up at your own. “I know... Just... Ten more minutes... Please.”

00:02:30:17 - Richie Tozier
Tumblr media
word count: 2871 warnings: swearing request: @oceanspray5: Richie x Reader soulmate AU with the timers counting down to meeting their soulmate? With Reader being a sweetheart and trashmouth being himself yet absolutely smitten with her anyway because she's the best thing in his life. And maybe focus on Richie and how he's nervous to meet his soulmate because of being insecure thst he's unlovable. Feel free to take this in any direction you would like or even modify the type of prompt! Thank you! ___
[ 00:02:30:17 ]
“Two hours, thirty minutes, and seventeen seconds,” Richie announced to Beverly, eyes darting between hers and the tattooed timer on his wrist.  “That’s how long you have to teach me how to be a good boyfriend”
“Richie-”
“Fifteen seconds!” He cut her off, watching the last two digits on his arm tick downwards.  “Fourteen!”
“Are you gonna do that the whole time?” Bev sighed.
Richie had begged her to meet him at a little diner in Derry that the Losers often hung out at.  Today was the day he was supposed to meet his soulmate, and he’d gone to bed last night excited, eager to meet them, who wouldn’t?
But this morning, he woke up feeling awfully anxious, not realizing how big of a deal this really was.  He was going to meet the love of his life today, the one person that was made for him, his other half, and as wonderful as it had sounded twenty four hours ago, now, he wasn’t so sure.
What if he wasn’t what they were expecting? What if he was too cude? Swore too much? What if they didn’t like that?
Overthinking was a hallmark of Richie Tozier’s personality.  It was right up there with ‘Makes Dirty Jokes’ and ‘Literally Can’t See’.  And now he was overthinking about whether his soulmate would hate that he overthinks.
“They’re literally going to fucking hate me, I can feel it.  I just know” Richie told Bev, who furrowed her brows while she sipped on a milkshake.  So far, she had just been sitting there listening to Richie ramble on about all his unecessary nerves.
“That’s impossible.  Really, impossible” She said calmly, but her kind words fell on deaf ears, and Richie babbled on.
“What if theyre- like- really fucking popular? Huh? What if it’s the most popular- what if they’re a cheerleader? Do you really think I should date a cheerleader,  Bev? I mean I do but I shouldn’t be with one-”
“You’re not even making sense anymore,” Beverly shook her head.  “You’re worried they’re gonna be…?”
“More popular than me keep up,” Richie groaned.  “No one wants to find out their soulmate is that weird kid! And I’m that weird kid!”
His yelling was making other customers turn heads, but neither Beverly or Richie cared.  They were used to the frustrated attention of adults.
“Alright, how about you take a deep breath, and we’ll start from the beginning,” The red haired girl suggested, sitting up straighter in order to get to business.  “First of all, no matter what you say or do, they won’t hate you, Richie.  Not only is it impossible, but this person is going to fall so in love with you when you meet”
“What if-”
“No.  No ‘what ifs’. It’s the truth.  You could literally stab them when you meet and the bond between you will still be unbreakable.  Do you understand? That should trump all else.  It’s unconditional, Richie.  Do you get that now?”
He shrugged his shoulders, picking up a fry from the basket in front of him and poking at the other fries with it
“I just- I don’t know, Bev.  I feel like- I feel like I won’t be…” He trailed off, feeling vulnerable and angry about it.  Luckily, Beverly was patient, and waited quietly while he tried to find the words.  “Enough” He finished, staring down at his food.
“Oh, Rich,” Beverly smiled, and reached across the table to set her hand on top of his.  “That’s the best part.  You’re going to be more than enough.  You’ll be everything, just like they will be for you”
Richie looked down at his wrist once more,
[ 00:02:15:48]
and a slight smile tugged on his lips.  In two short hours, and fifteen short minutes, he was going to meet his everything.  Some people weren’t so lucky, some people’s timers ticked on for sixty years, but Richie had only waited for seventeen.  And he was meeting them tonight.  At approximately seven o’clock.
“I can’t believe this,” richie said through a heavy breath.  He put his elbows on the table and hung his head in his hands.  “I can’t believe this is happening.  It’s too fast”
“Too fast? You’ve only known your whole life that this was happening today,” Beverly laughed, earning a glare from the stressed out boy.  “Come on.  It’s gonna be magical.  And romantic, and beautiful, and, oh you’re going to remember this day for the rest of your life”
“If I don’t have a goddamn heart attack and die right now, yeah maybe,” Richie mumbled.  “It’s only the most important thing to ever happen to someone.  And I’m not… ready”
Beverly gave him a soft smile, knowing that everyone would feel that way in the minutes leading up to the timer hitting zero.  But she also knew that he would be just fine, and all his worries were for nothing.
“I can’t wait to meet them,” She told him, her smile growing on her face.  “And I can’t wait to get an invite to the wedding…”
“Okay okay that’s enough advice outta you,” Richie cut her off, but she could tell he was trying to suppress his laughter.  “I gotta go”
“Go? You literally have two hours” Bev said, gesturing to the timer on his wrist.
“Yeah, but I gotta get some stuff first” Richie shrugged, sliding out of the booth and putting on his jacket.
“You have to go grocery shopping?” Beverly laughed.  “You don’t want to hang out some more?”
“Not grocery shopping-”
“Are you gonna go buy a new outfit to impress your date?”
“Nope,” Richie grinned, eating one last french fry.  “I’m gonna go buy flowers”
And with that, he raced out of the diner, leaving Beverly to laugh and shake her head.
He was a mess.  Whoever it was that he met tonight was sure going to be someone special. ___
(y/n) had been wandering around Derry all day, checking her wrist every minute to see the timer ticking down.  Hours to minutes, her eyes were glued on the tattoo.  It led to her bumping into a few people, and doorframes, but even so, she couldn’t tear her eyes away from the numbers.
She was terrified.
And now, after spending the whole day walking around town, she was sitting at the overlook at the quarry.  The bench there was worn down and usually required some dusting off for anyone to feel comfortable to sit there, but the view was too nice to pass up.
The sun was setting, and she liked watching the ducks swim around in the waters below.  The relaxing setting helped calm her nerves, since she’d been over-stressing all day.
All that was left to do now, was wait.
She was enjoying watching the ducks bob their heads under the water to eat when a loud sound pulled her from the scene.
“Fuck!”
The girl leapt up, spinning around just as Richie Tozier tripped over his feet and face planted onto the grass.  She gasped, and was quick to rush over to him.
“Oh my god!” She squealed, crouching down to his level.  “Are you alright?”
“Yeah- just- fuckin’ slipped”
She giggled as he pushed himself to sit up.
He finally looked up at her, and he just knew that the timer on his wrist hit zero.  He could feel it, like his heart was suddenly full and there was no chance of it ever being empty, ever again.  And just by looking at her, this stranger that he would spend the rest of his life with, he knew she felt the same way.
“Hey,” He mumbled, dusting the grass off his arms and legs.  “You… You’re-”
“Are those supposed to be for me?” She asked, smiling and pointing to the bouquet of daisies in his hand, slightly flattened on one side from catching his fall.
“Ah, fuck,” Richie groaned, trying to make the flowers look less ruined, but (y/n) just laughed again and took them from him.  “Yeah, they… were supposed to be… for you”
“That’s cute,” She mused, effectively making him blush.  “I’m (y/n)” She introduced herself, sticking her hand out towards him.
“Richie,” He replied, shaking her hand.  “This is… not what I thought” He said, and (y/n) sat down on the ground, a thoughtful look on her face as she studied his features.
He was cute, he was really cute.  She wondered if it was the fact that he was her soulmate that made him so goddamn attractive to her, but as soon as the thought crossed her mind, his wide eyes from behind his glasses met hers, and her heart melted, spreading warmth and butterflies throughout her body.
“What did you think, then?” She asked with an amused smirk.
“Honestly?” He asked, and she nodded curiously.  “I thought it’d be pouring rain, and then we’d see each other from, say, twenty feet away, and then you would run, literally, into my arms, and we would kiss all dramatic like”
(y/n) laughed at the detailed description, before looking up at the sky.
“Well, it’s clear skies, definitely no chance of pouring rain…” She trailed off, eyes nervously meeting his again.  “But, I’m still here?” She shrugged a shoulder, lips twitching in an anxious sort of smile.
“That you are...” Richie grinned, leaning forward a bit.
(y/n’s) eyes fluttered shut as their lips met halfway, and for the first time in her life, she saw stars behind her eyes.  Soulmates were magical, they were perfection, and she’d never felt more at home than she did right now.
Richie’s lips were so soft, and she could tell already that she was going to enjoy the rest of her life with him.
When they parted, there was a warmth that could only be described as the spark between them.
“Wow,” (y/n) let out in a breath, her eyes fluttering open, finding him with the same surprised expression.  “Um…” She bit her lip, her cheeks burning pink while her heart started to beat out of her chest.
“Yeah” Richie agreed softly.
They both laughed quietly to themselves, and when Richie finally stood up, he took her hand to help her up as well.
“Well?” (y/n) hummed expectantly, and Richie furrowed his brow in confusion.  “Um, was it- uh- worth it?” She asked, showing a bit more of her shyer side than she had a few moments ago.
He just laughed, not sure how to tell her that this was even better than he could have imagined. ___
(One Year Later)
“Did you make sure to turn down the heat for the la-”
“-Last five minutes? Yes,” RIchie answered.  “You don’t trust me with cooking at all, babe, do you?”
(y/n) glared at him from where she sat on the counter.  Richie had decided he was going to make dinner for them tonight, all on his own.  She wasn’t allowed to help in any way, this was his treat to her.  However, she wasn’t all that much of a fan.  Richie didn’t have a great track record when it came to the kitchen, and this is what led to her always cooking or baking for them.  He was allowed to help her, sometimes, but she never let him cook by himself.
“Since you tried to make me a birthday cake and covered the floor with flour, melted the batter, and nearly started a fire? No, babe, I don’t trust you with cooking” She replied sassily.
“Well this is gonna be the best goddamn tortellini you’ve ever had!” He declared, and stirred the pot of boiling noodles.  “Sausage and cheese stuffed, manually, by yours truly,” He said, casting her a wink that she rolled her eyes at.  “And homemade sauce too!”
She had to smile at his efforts, he really did want to impress her.  But she was just so worried he was going to burn their food.
“Just a little longer, hon” He said, setting the spoon aside and taking the few steps over to stand in front of her.
She rests her hands on his shoulders and smiles down at him.  She’s barely any taller than him, but she enjoys having an inch or two on him for once.
Richie smirks back up at her, hands landing on her hips as she kisses his nose adorably.
He tugs her forward and helps her to her feet on the ground.
“That’s better,” He says with a small snicker.  She gives him a pout, but it goes away with a short kiss.  “Much better”
His eyes wander and land on her wrist, which was resting against his chest.  With a gentle hand he takes it, and his thumb smooths over the inked skin.  00:00:00
A smile tugs on the corner of his lips at the sight.  Sometimes he just has to check, to make sure this is real, and he’s not just daydreaming.  (y/n) knew this, and she found it incredibly sweet, every time.
They’d been together for a year now, and he was still in disbelief.
She leaned up on the tips of her toes and kissed him, for a satisfyingly longer amount of time than before.  Her fingers latched onto the collar of the flannel he was wearing, pulling him down a bit towards her so she could deepen the kiss.  And just as he was contemplating lifting her back up onto the counter, she pushed him away.
“The pasta!” She all but screeched.
Richie just laughed, and turned off the stovetop to finish up dinner.
After ten minutes of fixing up the sauce and assuring (y/n) repeatedly that’s it’s neither undercooked or burnt.  She wasn’t all too convinced, but she was too hungry to care all too much.
He made her go put on pajamas before making up her bowl of tortellini.  And when she came back, her heart melted at the sight of him setting up the sofa with blankets, a selection of her favorite movies on the cushion.
“You pick a movie, and then I’ll set it up, and you can relax and enjoy this sweet ass meal”
She giggled, and picked out a movie before settling in on the sofa.
He kissed her cheek as he settled in next to her.
At her first bite, her eyes widened, and she almost forgot to swallow.  She stared at her boyfriend in surprise, and he waited impatiently for what she had to say.
“Well?” He asked, motioning for her to say something, anything.
“Damn” She mumbled, before swallowing thickly.
“That good, huh?” He asked with a giggle.  It was a little out of character, but adorable nonetheless.  “Is it really? You like it?” He asked hopefully.
After swallowing, she grinned at him.
“Richie! I’m actually proud of you! This is amazing!”
“Great- wait, actually proud? You’ve never been proud of me before-”
“From now on, you can cook whenever you want.  But! You have to read the instructions every time!”
“Deal” He laughed, and they settled into a comfortable silence as they ate and watched the film.
After going for seconds, (y/n) was stuffed and exhausted.  She propped her feet up on the coffee table, and leaned against Richie, her head plopping onto his shoulder.
He loved when she did that.
And it didn’t take long for her to completely cuddle up against him, half asleep.  It was his favorite thing.  It was rare for her to make it through a whole movie.
(y/n) wrapped her arms around his neck, and then kissed his cheek.  When he turned his head to smile down at her, she reached up and pressed a much more passionate kiss to his lips.
He was taken by surprise, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Even when she pulled away, his lips were still a bit pursed, and he quirked an eyebrow.
“And what was that gift for?” He asked, and was amused by the blush that dusted over her cheeks.
“Just cause,” She hummed, and gave him a sheepish shrug.  “Cause I love you” She added in a quieter voice.
It wasn’t her first time saying it, but she’d only said it a handful of times, and it still made her nervous to admit out loud.  Even knowing that Richie was her soulmate, the destined love of her life, she was still worried about such things.
Richie smiled, loving how her blush darkened when she’d said it.  He loved her so goddamn much it hurt sometimes.  And this was one of those times.  She could be so shy sometimes, even though it’s been a year now and they had forever to spend together.
He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in close.  He kissed the crown of her head as she nuzzled into his shirt.
“I love you too, sweets” He tells her.  He can feel her smiling against his chest.
Her hand settles against his wrist as they continue to watch the movie, tracing over the black ink rhythmically.
00:00:00
They had to be the luckiest people alive, finding each other so young, leaving them plenty of time to spend their lives together.
00:00:00. ___

E I G H T -  Well House
* - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - *
Since most of the group didn't want to go into the house, it had been decided that they would each draw a stick from the pile that Mike had collected off the ground. It was already known that Bill was going in and it had taken only one glare in Stan's direction as he tried to pull his cousin back to his side for them to realize that Y/N would be going into that house whether they liked it or not.
That meant that the two people with the shortest sticks would be accompanying Bill and Y/N into the house and, much to their dismay, Richie and Eddie were the unlucky two.
Y/N had to ignore Stan's worried gaze as she walked towards the front door of the house, knowing that it was hard for her cousin to be separated from her in a situation like this. But if she were to turn around, if she were to look him in the eyes, the courage she had somehow been able to muster would disappear and she wouldn't be able to go inside.
So Y/N didn't even look back at her cousin before walking in behind Bill. The two hesitated in the entryway and Y/N gulped slightly as she subconsciously took a tiny step closer to the boy. Both of their hands were shaking slightly, but as soon as they were able to grab onto the other and intertwine their fingers, their shaking had subsided.
It took all of Y/N's willpower not to gag at the sight of the interior of the house, but lucky for her, she was too distracted by Richie's complaining to even get a good look at everything as she began to walk forward once again with her hand gripping onto Bill's.
"I can't believe I pulled the short straw," Richie whined. "You guys are lucky you're not measuring dicks."
"Shut up, Richie," Eddie muttered as he looked around the house with wide eyes, the creaking noise coming from the settling of the house making him jump every now and then.
Eddie glanced to one side and winced at the decaying living room. "I can smell that," he whispered in disgust.
"Don't breathe through your mouth," Richie quickly told him causing the boy to look at him in confusion.
"How come?" Eddie asked almost afraid for the answer.
"Cause then you're eating it," Richie replied making Eddie gag and Y/N grimace. Y/N reached out with her free hand to pat Eddie on the back in comfort. Once the young boy had composed himself, he glanced over at Y/N and gave her a small thankful smile before his eyes flickered to where she was holding onto Bill's hand.
A look of shock crossed his face before his eyes flickered back up to Y/N's. He gave her an almost amused look and raised an eyebrow ever so slightly. Y/N's eyes widened a little and her cheeks turned red as she quickly looked away from Eddie who was chuckling softly to himself while also warily looking around at his surroundings.
Thankfully Bill hadn’t noticed this interaction at all and Y/N let out a small sigh of relief before looking around only to find Richie standing on the opposite side of the room. His body was trembling as he stared at something in his hands. Y/N couldn't help but furrow her eyebrows in confusion and say, "Richie?"
The boy didn't respond and merely turned around, his eyes not leaving the object in his hand which Y/N could now tell was a piece of paper. But the paper wasn't what concerned her. No, it was the absolutely horrified look on Richie's face, a look that she had never seen cross the boy's face since she first met him when they were six.
"Richie," Y/N said again as she gently let go of Bill's hand and begin to walk over to the boy. Bill noticed the sudden lack of Y/N's hand and went to glance at her only for his eyes to follow her gaze and latch on to Richie.
"What?" Bill asked as he followed after Y/N and over to Richie, Eddie right behind them.
"It. . .it says I'm missing," Richie muttered, his voice a little shaky as he stared at the paper that Y/N was now able to get a good look at. What Richie said was right. It was like one of the missing flyers that they had seen plastered throughout town only this one had a picture of Richie with his name, age and more listed below.
"Y-Y-Y-You're not missing, Richie," Bill tried to assure him but the boy shook his head, his eyes wide as the paper trembled in front of him.
"Police department, City of Derry," Richie read off. "That's my shirt, that's my hair, that's my face. . ." Richie began to yell and Y/N was quick to grab his arm in comfort while Bill tried to take the paper from him.
"It's not real, Richie," Y/N tried to tell him while Bill nodded in agreement, but Richie continued to yell.
"Calm down, this isn't real," Bill insisted.
"That's my name, that's my age, that's the date. . ." Richie yelled while Bill finally managed to crumple up the paper. Richie was latching onto the paper and Y/N had to try and pull him away while Bill tried to calm the boy down.
"This isn't real, Richie!" Bill yelled.
"What the fuck? It says I'm missing. Am I missing? Will I disappear?" Richie cried out before Y/N grabbed his arm and spun himself round so that he could look at her.
She put two hands on his arms and softly said, "Calm down, Richie. Listen to me."
"What the fuck?" Richie cried while Y/N looked at him.
"Take it easy," she whispered. "Look at me, Richie. Look at me." It took a moment but the boy eventually managed to stop yelling and let his eyes flicker over to the girl. Y/N frowned once she saw the tears that had sprung in his eyes and she didn't even hesitate before hugging him, an act that made Richie tense in surprise before he relaxed and hugged her back, gripping onto her so tightly like he thought he was going to disappear.
Bill and Eddie watched in silence, Eddie's eyes on Richie as a look of worry and concern flickered across his face while Bill stared at Y/N with a dazed look in his eyes like he was in awe.
"This isn't real," Y/N assured him as she rubbed a hand up and down his back, a trick she often used on Eddie to stop his small panic attacks. "It's playing tricks on you. That's all."
Before Richie could respond, a shaky voice called out, "Hello?"
Instantly, Richie and Y/N pulled away from each other, their eyes wide as they looked to the staircase where the voice had come from. Bill and Eddie were just as tense and all four gulped while Richie squeezed onto Y/N's arm which he still had ahold of.
"Hello?" the voice called out again and Y/N didn't know why they started doing it, but the group slowly began to walk towards the staircase where they could hear the voice calling out to them from upstairs. "Help me please!"
Y/N gulped before she began to walk forward and out of Richie's hold. The boy instead took a step closer to Eddie while Bill went to stand by Y/N's side, the four then beginning to make their way up the stairs.
Once they reached the top, Y/N couldn't help but hesitate. The others seemed to be trapped in a trance and before she knew it, they had all left her side and were now walking in front of her. Y/N gulped and had to force herself to continue walking, shaking slightly as she felt like something was watching her every move.
"Betty?" Y/N heard Bill whisper causing the girl to realize just how far behind she had gotten from the boys. She was quick to jog the rest of the way over, but froze at the sight of the open door at the end of the hallway, a girl around her age lying on the ground of the room the door led to.
"Ripsom?" Eddie whispered causing Y/N to realize that the girl was the one who had gone missing. The word barely had time to leave Eddie's mouth before the girl was suddenly being pulled back, a loud scream leaving her lips.
Tears began to fill Y/N's eyes and she had to slap a hand over her mouth to keep herself quiet as she held back a sob. Bill and Richie began to move forward, but all Y/N could do was shake her head as she tried to calm herself down. She didn't even notice Eddie who was standing back behind her as he whispered so low that it was barely audible, "Guys, do you hear that?"
But he had spoken so low that none of them could hear him or what he was talking about. As for Y/N, it was like the world was beginning to spin all around her and she wasn't quite sure why. She had never had panic attacks before, but she felt as if she couldn't breath and it suddenly felt like something was forcing her into one of the empty rooms.
She couldn't even register what was happening before the world suddenly went still, the door slamming shut before her very eyes and making her scream. "No! Guys!" Y/N cried out, tears begging to fall out as she banged her hand against the door.
She could hear footsteps and before she knew it, she could hear banging from the other side and the juggling of the door knob as Bill yelled, "Y/N? Y/N!"
"Open the door! Open the fucking door!" Y/N cried out in the dark room that only had a small bit of light streaming in from the window as she desperately tried to open the door.
"It's locked! We can't-!" Richie began, but he was cut off by Eddie crying out before Richie yelled out, "What the fuck? The floor just caved in in the middle of the hallway!"
Y/N didn't even have time to register what was going on before she felt something wet around her ankles. The girl gulped and looked down, her eyes widening as she saw the water that was rapidly beginning to rise in the room.
"Guys! Help! There's water!" Y/N cried out. "Get me out of here!" She was full on sobbing by now, the water rushing into the room from who knows where so fast that it was now up to her knees.
"Y/N!" Bill yelled, but his screams were muffled by the gushing sound of water. All Y/N could register from the other side of the door was screams coming from all three of the boys before a loud crash was heard.
The water was up to her waist by now and Y/N was stumbling around the room trying to find anything that could break down the door. She began throwing things at the wood, even going as far as to use a chair which instantly broke from the force.
"Help!" Y/N sobbed, the water now to her chest as she clawed at the door. The door was suddenly banging much louder now and if Y/N didn't know any better, she would say that Bill and Richie were now trying to kick the door down.
All Y/N did was blink and then the water was up to her neck, the water level rising faster than she could think. She cried out one last time before taking a deep breath as the water filled up the whole room. Her lungs were burning as she tugged on the door knob, willing for it to open up and to get out of this death trap.
And just when she was close to slipping away, the door was suddenly kicked in and it was like all the water had disappeared. The only sign of there having been any water at all was the soaked Y/N who was lying on the ground gasping for air as her eyes frantically moved around.
Before she knew it, a figure was above her, hands cupping her face before moving the hair from her face as a voice whispered, "It's okay. You're okay. I got you."
It took a moment of her trying to breath and finally blinking the excess water from her eyes before Y/N managed to focus and lock on a pair of green eyes. At the sight of them, Y/N began to weep, her eyes squeezing shut as Bill pulled her up into a sitting position and held her close. He didn't even care how wet she was, only that she was in his arms and that she was alive after almost two near deaths just that afternoon.
Y/N gripped onto Bill like her life depended on it, her fingers digging into his shirt as she sobbed into his shoulder. Bill felt tears of his own prick his eyes and he held the girl tighter, kissing the side of her head as he continued to whisper, "It's okay. I got you. You're okay."
The two didn't even get a chance to hold onto each other for very long before a chorus of screams yelled, "Help! Help!"
Y/N and Bill could recognize those screams anywhere and Y/N was quick to pull away from Bill, their faces mere inches from each other as tears streamed down her face. "Eddie," she whispered and that was enough to have them both scrambling to their feet.
They made it to the stairs at the same time as Richie who was doing who knows what while Bill comforted Y/N, but obviously something that had him shaking from fear. The three practically fell down the stairs from how fast they were running and followed the screams until they were close to the kitchen.
"Eddie!" Y/N and Richie yelled as they ran into the kitchen with Bill behind them. All three of them froze at the sight of Eddie sitting on the ground with a broken arm while It was practically on top of him with his hand over the boy's face and his teeth showing.
It turned to look at them and dropped his hold on Eddie as he smirked at the three. His gaze was enough to make Y/N shiver and she suddenly felt a lot colder than she did by just being wet from the water.
"This isn't real enough for you, Billy?" It asked, his voice making Y/N gulp while Bill subconsciously took a small step in front of Y/N. "I'm not real enough for you?"
"Holy shit!" Richie muttered in disbelief while Y/N shook in pure fear.
"It was real enough for Georgie," It said and that was enough to make Bill go pale. Before the three could blink, It was running at them. Y/N cried out in fear and grabbed onto Bill while Richie hugged her side. All three of them could only watch in horror as the clown moved at an inhuman like speed.
However, he was instantly stopped when from out of no where Beverly appeared, stabbing the clown in the head with a steel pipe. The other Losers ran in not too long after her and they all watched with wide eyes as the clown froze, it's blood floating into the air while it made a sound that sounded like a sob.
Y/N was the first to snap to attention and she pushed all of her fear and pain aside to run past the clown and over to Eddie who was on the verge of an attack. For she could protect Eddie if she was by his side.
"Get Eddie! Get Eddie!" Richie yelled once he saw what Y/N was doing.
Y/N was still drenched but Eddie didn't seem to care as the girl pulled him into an embrace, holding his head to her chest as she gently rocked him back and forth while the two desperately tried to calm themselves down.
There was a lot of incoherent screaming as Bill, Beverly, and Richie rushed over to the two who were gripping onto each other for dear life as they struggled not to cry. Eddie held onto Y/N with his one good arm so tightly that she knew there would be bruises from where he was holding her, but she didn't care.
"Fuck! Fuck!" Eddie yelled once he saw It turn to them, a chorus of screams leaving everyone's mouth at the sight of the deformed clown. It began to move to them which only made Y/N and Eddie panic more. But unlike Eddie who was screaming for dear life and crying, Y/N had her eyes squeezed shut and was rocking her and Eddie even faster as she sobbed.
"Look at me! Look at me!" Richie yelled at Eddie as he tried to help Y/N in calming him down, but only Y/N was able to calm Eddie down the way they needed him to be and they all knew she was losing it at that moment so that wasn't helping.
There was the sound of laughter and Y/N let her eyes open up for a second and instantly regretted it as she watched It claw Ben across the stomach. "Ben!" Y/N shrieked, her whole body going numb as she watched the clown with pure fear coursing through her body.
To everyone's surprise, the clown slowly began to back out of the room leaving everyone a mess except for Bill who was watching It leave with a bit of confusion before he got up and began to run after the clown as he yelled, "Don't let It get away!"
Mike and Stan were trying to help Ben while Beverly slowly slid down the wall into a sitting position with her hand over her mouth and tears in her eyes. As for Richie, he was trying to calm Eddie and Y/N down, but that was before he saw Eddie's broken arm which was hanging at an odd angle.
"Fuck!" Richie yelled, instantly drawing attention to the boy's arm and making Beverly gasp in pure shock.
She hurried over and gulped before yelling out, "Bill, we have to help Eddie." The boy came back in an instant while Eddie shook his head violently in Y/N's hold and yelled out, "Nooooo, Nooooo!"
"I'm gonna snap your arm into place!" Richie exclaimed while Eddie looked at him with a death glare and screamed, "Do not fucking touch me! Do not fucking touch me!"
Y/N knew what was about to happen and stopped her sobbing in order to focus on the situation at hand. She tried to steady her breathing and held onto Eddie tighter as she whispered, "It's okay. You'll be okay. It's okay."
The words seemed to work for a moment as Eddie got distracted, but that was enough time for Richie to say, "Well, one, two, three." He then snapped it back into place and Eddie cried out in pain before falling back against Y/N, completely drained both physically and emotionally.
The two began to sob as they held onto each other and Bill gulped before grabbing their arms, "Come on! We need to get out of here!"
The group helped the two to their feet, but Eddie and Y/N didn't dare let go of each other, both knowing that they wouldn't be able to walk out there without the other by their side. They were each other's lifeline at the moment and that much was evident by the way they gripped onto each other's good arms and ran out of the house with the others surrounding them.
They didn't stop running until they were far away from the house and it was then and only then, with the house so far gone that they couldn't even see it, that they all broke.
Everyone was hugging each other as they desperately tried to come to terms with what had happened, but Y/N swore she would never forget the moment that she collapsed into her cousin's arms, muttering out a weak, "Stanley," before breaking down while he held onto her so tight she could barely breath.
One thing was for sure—Y/N Uris never wanted to see that fucking house ever again.

"You! You did this," Mrs. Kaspbrak hissed as she pointed at each of the children. "You know how delicate he is," she pointed out as she grabbed the back of Eddie's neck and dragged him towards their car.
"We were atacked, M-M-Mrs. K," Bill tried to argue while Eddie was shoved by them and towards the car. Eddie and Y/N locked eyes and both were teary eyes as they looked at each other, both knowing this wasn't going to end well.
"No, don't. Don't try to blame anyone else. . ." Mrs. Kaspbrak spat before closing the car door behind Eddie who had begun to silently cry in the car as he cradled his arm to his chest. Mrs. Kaspbrak, shaking from anger, dropped her keys onto the ground which Beverly went to pick up.
"Let me-" Beverly began in a kind voice as she bent down, but Mrs. Kaspbrak was quick to stop her as she grabbed the keys herself.
"Get back!" Mrs. Kaspbrak yelled aggressively making Y/N frown and grab onto Beverly's arm before pulling the red head to her side. Mrs. Kaspbrak glared at Beverly and muttered, "Oh, I've heard of you Miss Marsh. . .and I don't want a dirty girl like you touching my son."
"Mrs. Kaspbrak, will all due respect, you are supposed to be the adult and Beverly is a child. So if you could please get out of her face and be reasonable for a second, maybe we can talk-" Y/N began as she gently pushed Beverly behind her and put herself in between the red head and the older woman.
Mrs. Kaspbrak scoffed, instantly shutting Y/N up as she began to laugh and took a step closer to her. "Well if it isn't Y/N Uris. It was better when you stopped coming around here. It made everyone's life better and look what's happened now that you're back. Your parents were bitches when they were here too, but I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, huh? I don't want you near my son ever again, you hear?" she practically hissed, chuckling at the tears that had sprung in the girl's eyes as she bit her lip.
Eddie watched with horror in his eyes from his car and as soon as his mother had walked away, he looked to Y/N with an apologetic look as tears rolled down her face. The girl's lips only trembled and she looked away, an action that made Eddie let out a small sob as he looked away.
They both knew that she wasn't mad at him, but Mrs. Kaspbrak's words had struck a nerve even if they weren't true. After all, if she knew all that Y/N did for her boy, she would probably be praising her rather than degrading her.
"Ms. K, I. . ." Bill began, trying to lower the blow of this conversation despite the redness of his cheeks that had formed out of pure anger at what she had said to Y/N.
"No, you are all monsters, all of you!" Mrs. Kaspbrak yelled. "And Eddie is done with you, you hear, done!" She then stormed away and got into her car before driving away as fast as she could, taking a crying Eddie with her.
Y/N found herself running out into the street, staring after the car which was driving far away. The others quickly joined her and Bill was by her side in a second, his hand gently brushing against hers before latching on to let her know that he was there. Stan appeared on her other side not even a second later and the two cousins shared a look before looking back at the car.
Y/N watched the car go and felt her heart ache for the boy who was like her brother. And knowing that she could possibly never see him again hit her so hard that she couldn't stop the tear rolling down her face as the car drove out of sight.
The car hadn't even been gone for long before Bill turned around to look at the others, momentarily letting go of Y/N's hand in order to turn before grabbing her other one once he was turned around.
"I saw the well," he announced making everyone look to him, some confused while a few looked at him in shock. Was he seriously going on about this now? After everything that had just happened? "W-W-W-W-We know where it is and next time we'll be better prepared."
"Next time?" Y/N blanched, suddenly feeling sick to her stomach at the thought.
"No! No next time, Bill!" Stan exclaimed as he glared at the boy and gently tugged his cousin to his side, effectively pulling the two's hands away from each other. "You're insane!"
"Why? We all know nobody else is going to do anything," Beverly said while Y/N looked at her and Bill with wide eyes.
"Eddie was nearly killed, Y/N got her leg sliced up and almost drowned, and look at this motherfucker, he's leaking hamburger helper!" Richie yelled as he gestured towards Ben who was holding onto his bloody stomach.
Y/N winced and Stan wrapped an arm around her protectively, grimacing slightly at how damp she still was but holding her tight nonetheless.
"We can't pretend it's going to go away," Beverly insisted. "Ben, you said yourself It comes back every 27 years."
"Fine!" Ben exclaimed. "I'll be forty and far away from here. I thought you said you wanted to get out of this town too."
"Because I want to run towards something, not away," Beverly argued, a look of pure surprise and disbelief on her face as she looked at Ben.
"I'm sorry but who invited Molly Ringwald into the group?" Richie questioned causing Y/N to sigh and Beverly to flick him off.
"Richie. . ." Y/N and Stan sighed, both of the Uris cousins looking to the boy who shrugged.
"I'm just saying, lets face facts. Real world Georgie is dead," Richie said causing Y/N's mouth to drop open at the boy in disbelief. "Stop trying to get us killed too."
Richie went to walk past Bill who grabbed onto him in anger and said, "Georgie's not dead."
"You couldn't save him but you could still save yourself," Richie insisted as he once again tried to wall away but Bill was quick to stop him.
"No! T-T-T-Take it back," Bill said, tears filling his eyes. "You're scared and we all are but take it back." The boy then shoved Richie as hard as he could and Y/N looked at him in shock.
"Bill!" Y/N exclaimed, but Richie was already shoving Bill back who quickly grabbed Richie and punched him in the face causing the boy to fall to the ground.
"Holy shit! Bill, what the fuck?" Y/N yelled as she pushed the boy away, tears in her eyes and anger evident on her face. Bill's eyes locked with hers and she stood before him staring at him in disbelief while the others were quick to help Richie up.
She couldn't believe Bill had just done that. She understood that he was upset about what Richie had said but that gave him no right to punch his friend like that especially when Bill knew that Richie would never go as far as to punch him. That was not the Bill she knew and quite frankly, she didn't like this side of him.
"What are you doing?" Y/N finally whispered, tears rolling down her face while Bill just looked at her in shock, his heart breaking at the disappointment evident on her face.
"You're such a fucking loser!" Richie exclaimed once he was back on his feet. He tried to lunge for Bill and that was enough to have Bill snap out of it and go to lunge at Richie. Y/N's eyes widened and she quickly grabbed Bill and began to pull him back while Stan and Mike grabbed Richie who was freaking out.
"You're a bunch of losers!" Richie exclaimed while he was struggling against his friends' grasps. As for Bill, he was trying to get away from Y/N who was holding onto him, but couldn't help himself from relaxing slightly in her hold, especially once he knew she was watching him. "You're gonna get yourself killed trying to catch a stupid clown!"
"Stop!" Y/N finally yelled and both of the boys ceased their struggling to look at her as she stared at them. She was still holding onto Bill and even though she was mad at him, let her head fall against his arm as she let out a small sob.
Why was this all happening? The stuff with It, Eddie being taken away, their fighting? Why? And why the fuck could she not stop crying?
"This is what It wants. It wants to divide us. We were all together when we hurt it. That's why we're still alive," Beverly told them as Y/N moved her head from Bill's arm to look at the girl, using a hand to wipe away her tears as she did.
"Yeah? Well I plan to keep it that way," Richie muttered as he walked past them, bumping his shoulder against Bill's on purpose as he left. Stan began to walk after him, but hesitated before looking back at his cousin who was still gripping onto Bill's arm.
It was then that Y/N knew that she had to make a choice and when Bill looked to her, they both knew what her choice was. Both of them looked at each other with tear filled eyes and Y/N shakily pulled away from the boy.
She opened her mouth as if she were going to say something, but no words came out as the two just stared at each other. Bill shook his head ever so slightly, a tear rolling down his face that only made Y/N's face contort in pain at the sight.
Knowing it would hurt the longer that she took, Y/N turned and was quick to run over to her cousin, the two instantly linking arms before beginning to walk away and to their bikes. Y/N glanced over her shoulder once to find the rest of the Losers staring after them, but it was Bill's face that broke her. It looked as if his heart had just been ripped out of his chest and stomped on, tears rolling down his cheeks as he stared at her heartbrokenly.
Y/N had to look away and hopped onto Stan's bike before he began to pedal away. It was then that she came to terms with what had just happened.
But she couldn't have stayed. She didn't want to die. And after today where she had almost died twice, she never wanted to be put into that situation again nor see her friends in that situation. She was only a kid after all. Why should she have to deal with this when this summer was just supposed to be a time for her and Stan to enjoy themselves?
A sniffle had the girl snapping out of her thoughts and she turned her head to look at Stan who was biting his quivering lip as a few tears fell from his eyes. The sight made Y/N's heart break and she was quick to wrap her arms around him tighter and lean her head against his back, a sign that she was still there. This was enough to make Stan sigh as he leaned back and into his cousin’s hold.
For as long as they had each other, they would never be alone. And they would be there to help each other get through this just like they always would.
And with that, everyone began to go their separate ways.
The Losers Club was over.

Home Again//2019!Eddie Kaspbrak x Daughter!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Requested by @thoughtfullyyoungduck, I hope this was close to what you wanted.
Warnings: Verbal berating of the reader and a brief but graphic scene of violence against the reader
Prompt: Ever since your mom left when you were five it had just been you and your dad. You were each other’s only family. But when he brings you back to his hometown of Derry you decide it’s time to meet your grandmother.
The house your father grew up inside in Derry, Maine didn’t look like it had been touched much since the 1980s. Most of Derry still felt small and quiet like the rest of the world forgotten it. As you drove through town to your hotel yesterday your dad kept shaking his head and remarking on how everything still looked the same. You knew he’d be furious if he found out you came here but you couldn’t help yourself.
You had never met your grandparents before and your dad never talked about his childhood. Could he really expect you to pass up the opportunity to ask questions he never answered? This morning he said he had to go meet some of his old friends, the ones you had met last night at dinner, and he explicitly told you to stay in the hotel room. You rolled your eyes thinking about it. Your dad had always been overprotective. Maybe it was because he was just an anxious person? Always on you about being home before dark and getting your flue shot. Maybe it was because your mom left when you were five and it was just the two of you? You knew it was hard on him trying to take care of both of you all the time all by himself. Or maybe it was just because he worked nights so often and he worried about you being home alone? Either way it was always getting on your nerves. You’d long gotten use to sneaking out when your dad was gone, and sneaking out of the hotel was easy.
The old Kaspbrak house looked like most other houses on the street. It was small and white with a decent porch. The only real difference was that the lawn was shaggy and in desperate need of a mowing and the curtains were all drawn, keeping the light out of the house. If it wasn’t for the station wagon in the driveway you would have thought there was no one home. You took a deep breath before starting up the walk and climbing the stairs. You hesitated before bringing your hand down on the door in two quick knocks.Glancing behind your shoulder you took in the empty street. It was a Sunday morning but there was no one in the streets, no children playing or dad’s mowing the lawn.
“Who are you?”
You jumped and whirled back around, coming face to face with a much larger old woman. You couldn’t help but gasp at the sight. She wasn’t much taller than you, her hair was dark brown with grey roots showing, and there were prominent wrinkles around her eyes, the same shade of brown as yours and your dad’s. Sonia Kapbrak looked you up and down with distance, studying you closely. You cleared your throat and took a small step back.
“I’m, uh, are you Sonia Kaspbrak?”
“I am.” She crossed her arms in front of her.
“Well, my name is Y/N Kaspbrak. My father is Eddie Kaspbrak. I’m your granddaughter.”
You don't know what kind of reaction you were expecting, but Sonia staring you down through squinted eyes that hid in her full face and made them look black in appearance was not it. She stared at you hard, looking you over from head to toe as if sizing you up. It made you shift nervously from foot to foot in your spot. Was she like this when your dad was a kid? Your entire life your dad had always looked happy to see you when you came home from school or walked into the kitchen in the morning, he always smiled at you warmly. Even when he was mad at you, you never got a look like this one. But now you could picture him as a little kid getting in trouble and getting stared down on this same porch. What was she looking for?! You folded your arms across your middle and fought back a flinch when Sonia smiled at you.
"Oh, really? My Eddie Bear is a father?! I'd be surprised he never told me except he never calls me at all anymore. You raise them up as best you can, and then they run off and leave you, never to call, never showing any gratitude!" She threw her hands up in the air then shook her head. "Please, why don't you come inside?"
You opened your mouth to decline, suddenly not too sure about this whole thing but Sonia looked at you expectantly and the words died in your mouth. Wordlessly you stepped into the house and were surprised to find the darkness that had surrounded the house had moved inside as well. Sonia didn’t seem bothered by it though as she didn’t move to turn on any lights when she led you to the living room. The blinds were cracked in the living room, allowing dim rays of light to enter the room and work with the old boxed, bunny eared TV to shine enough light to make the room dim but light enough to see.
“Go on, have a seat.”
You sat down stiffly on the edge of the sofa, so far that you were almost falling off.
“Would you like a drink? I have sodas or bottled water? You can’t drink the stuff from the tap anymore. Too much lead and chemicals in it.”
“Oh, no I’m fine, thank you.”
Sonia nodded and sat down in her recliner next to the couch and smiled at you. A flash of red caught your eye. You glanced over at one of the windows and caught a glimpse of a red balloon floating by. You narrowed your eyes as you watched it go.
“So, Y/N, you’re my granddaughter?”
You turned back to Sonia and nodded, forcing a smile. “I have so many questions for you! My dad doesn’t talk about Derry very much.”
Sonia hummed, “Well I’m not surprised. Eddie bear hasn’t so much as called since he left me here. I suppose he’s done alright for himself though?” She looked at you strangely, sizing you up again. “Tell me, what’s your mother like?”
You swallowed hard, “I’m afraid I don’t know much.” You cleared your throat. “She left us when I was five. We haven’t kept in touch.”
You could practically see Sonia’s ears perk up. “Really?” She laughed humorlessly, “Well, I guess I can see why.”
Your jaw dropped. “Ex-, Excuse me?”
“Well obviously it couldn’t be my Eddie’s fault she left so it must have been your fault.”
“You don’t-”
“Of course I know dear!” she shook her head, “I knew when you stepped on my porch. Look at you? Your filthy just like your mother, holding my Eddie back, keeping him anchored with a child to take care of on his own? You should be ashamed.”
A cold dread filled your stomach and gripped your body. You had heard these words before, your own brain screamed them at you in your bed at night like a flashing sign. Somehow Sonia was on the same wavelength as you.
“Why are you saying these things?” You choked out, willing away your tears.
“Because it’s the truth isn’t it? All alone with a child to take care of, how could you do anything but hold your father back! Just think of all the things he could do if he wasn’t stuck taking care of you.” Sonia shook her head pityingly, “I suppose that’s what he gets for leaving me all alone here though. A disappointment of a daughter like you.”
You shook your head at her, “I think I should go now.”
“Oh, dear, you’re not going anywhere.”
You stared at Sonia, eye brows furrowed. Sonia smiled. You jumped up from the couch and raced for the door faster than you had ever moved in your life. You didn’t expect Sonia to be able to move fast enough to grab you but she did. She grabbed you by your hair and pulled you back into the room, tossing you to the floor. She smiled down at you, rows and rows of sharp, pointed teeth showing.
You screamed and ear splitting scream, crawling back on your hands until your back hit the wall. Sonia smiled wider and rushed towards you. Your foot connected with her face with a sickening crack as her head shot back. You watched in horror as she slowly righted her head and snapped it back into place. You screamed and screamed when Sonia crouched down in front of you, grabbing your hand as you tried to shove her away. She brought your hand closer to her mouth before-
“Y/N!”
You and Sonia’s eyes both flicked back to the front door that you could hear your name being screamed and the front door shaking as someone tried to knock it down. Sonia turned back to you and smiled through thin, yellow eyes that made you flinch. Her grin widened, showing off every one of her sharp teeth, and with a shake of her head she let go of your hand and stalked backwards from you before disappearing into the kitchen.
You stared at the spot where she had disappeared through in horror when the front door was kicked in and your father, Richie, and Mike all came running into the room, Beverly, Ben, and Bill trailing behind.
“Y/N?! Y/N, baby, oh my God!” Your dad rushed to your side and dropped to his knees in front of you. He grabbed your face in his hands and pulled your gaze from the kitchen door to look at him. “Y/N? Are you okay?! Are you hurt?!”
You continued to stare at him, shock and horror still playing on your face as he ran his hands from your face to your wrist, checking for broken bones. He looked so worried as he checked you over that Sonia’s words rang through your head again. “Just think of all the things he could do if he wasn’t stuck taking care of you?”
A sob escaped your throat, “Dad?”
He paused and looked from your wrist where Sonia had squeezed up to your face. He saw your bottom lip tremble and felt his racing heart break. “Oh, baby.” He pulled you to him and hugged you tight. As soon as he did this you began to cry against his shoulder, clutching his jacket in your fist. “It can’t hurt you anymore Y/N. I’m right here, I’m not going to let it hurt you again.” He squeezed you tighter and kissed your forehead.
“Dad, she-, it-, it’s teeth...”
Eddie swallowed back the memory of those teeth inching in on his at the Nesboit house. He realized you had been in that same position and felt sick. He pulled back to look you in the eyes and nodded.
“I know. I’m sorry Y/N, I never should have brought you back here with me.”
“It’s gone Eddie, we better get her out of here.” Richie spoke softly, placing his hand on Eddie’s shoulder and squeezed reassuringly.
Eddie looked up at him and nodded. Carefully he helped you to your feet and led you out of the house, his arm wrapped around your shoulder protectively.

Hold Me Now - Part 4 - Richie Tozier x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary:  You had forgotten about everything that happened in Derry until Mike called you up. Now, sitting in the restaurant surrounded by your friends, you remembered everything. More importantly, you remember Richie. (Fluff/Angst)
Warnings: Nothing really.
Word count: 3181
Notes: Thank you again for all of the lovely messages and comments! I love hearing what you guys think of the fic so far <3
Here are the links to previous parts: part one, part two, part three >>> part five
“Where the huh-huh-hell is he?” Bill remarked, running a hand through his hair. He paced around the bar room, a slight glisten materialising upon his brow.
You stood within the same room beside Eddie, with Beverly and Ben sitting down on lounges not far from the two of you.
“Maybe he lost track of time. Maybe he got distracted…” Eddie trailed off, looking towards you. His face did not reveal his insinuation to any of the other members of the gang, but you knew what he was implying. You looked at him with a stern expression, a silent cue for him to shut the fuck up before I kick your ass Kaspbrack. He took the hint, quickly shifting his gaze from you to the clock which sat upon the wall just in front of the two of you. It was now ten past ten, almost fifteen minutes since you had made your way down to the others and at least twenty since Bill had called you down. What the hell was he-
“Sorry, sorry. I’m here” Richie announced, making his way down the stairs. He was still zipping up the fly of his jeans. His dishevelled appearance, including messy hair and a shirt that was half tucked in, made it seem as though he was just caught in the act. Well, that was almost true you supposed.
“Yeah well its not like we’re in a ru-ru-rush or any-thu-thu-thing” Bill remarked.
“Alright well I was taking a crap okay? You happy now? Let me just adjust my bowel movements to killer clown fighting times. Does nine A.M work for you, Bill?”
Beverly and Ben groaned at Richie’s crudeness. Eddie gave you a quick smirk and you nudged him with your shoulder, an action that you had used as a child to shut the boy up.
“Alright Rich, just sit down” Ben said and for once, Richie obeyed his order, sitting beside Beverly in a free chair. You and Eddie remained standing.
“Nuh-Now that everyone’s here” Bill said, taking a moment to give a stern look to Richie. Richie looked around before lifting his palms in a surrender and muttering come on man to himself. You felt bad for the man, considering it was partly your fault. “Mike wants us to muh-meet him. Suh-Says he has something he wants to show uh-us”.
“So I guess Beverly you could come with me…” Ben started, however the doubt seeping through his words made it sound more like a question. Beverly nodded her head and Ben suddenly perked up, smiling and almost forgetting he was in the middle of a statement. “Uh, Eddie can go with Bill and Y/N with Rich?”.
Richie opened his mouth but before he could say anything Eddie spoke. “Sounds good. We better get a move on; Mike has probably been waiting for ages” He said and looked towards Richie, almost mimicking Bill.
“Oh my god, just crucify me already for the sin of taking my morning dump. You know if I had remembered how anal you guys are about everything, I never would have come back here!” Richie yelled out towards the gang, who were already almost out of the front door of the motel.  You stared at the man who was still sitting down within the bar chair, raising an eyebrow at his outburst. He finally looked towards you, before standing up and gesturing you to go before him; towards the front door. “We better go” he said, and you nodded your head, making your way towards the exit.
~
Richie had driven the two of you in silence for what felt like hours, but had probably only been about ten minutes. The only sound between the two of you was the radio, which had begun to play an old country song before Richie let out a sound of disgust and turned the radio off - the silence between the two of you even more deafening now. You had considered, multiple times, beginning a conversation about what had happened this morning. However, every time you had meant to start talking, a thick lump formed in your throat and you choked on your words, never releasing a sound.
“I’m sorry about this morning” Richie said suddenly, his eyes still on the road. “I was all… worked up and then I saw Eddie standing there and I freaked out. I didn’t mean to just leave you there-“
“It’s fine” you said and allowed the silence to once again fill the vehicle in which you sat. Richie allowed it for a moment also before shaking his head.
“It’s not fine though. I mean, you’re upset. And like, rightfully so. I just-“ he began before you interrupted him.
“It’s just this hot and cold shit, Richie. This is just like what it was between us as kids. One minute, your asking me to come live with you and the next you’re running away. One minute you’re all over me, the next you wont even let me touch you. This is just like-“ you started and stopped yourself.
Richie’s gaze finally moved from the road to your face, a stern expression (which Richie rarely wore) sat upon his own. “Like what?” he asked quietly. A harsh quiet. “Like what?”.
“Like the night before I left for New York. I mean… I wanted you to tell me not to go”
“Did I not!? Did I not repeatedly tell you to not go!?” he almost yelled, his grip tightening significantly on the car’s steering wheel.
“I don’t mean like that I mean… you know… ‘More Than Words’” you said.
“Do not quote shitty nineties songs at me right now” he said, his grip on the steering wheel was still tight, however his voice was calmer now and his gaze remained on the road. “Do you know how much I regret not telling you how I felt that night? It was all I could think about. Twenty years of fucking replaying that shit in my head”.
“Richie” you said softly, barely realising his name had left your mouth. His confession revealed to you a rare vulnerability that you knew he tried not to show often. The amount of times he had deflected serious talks with jokes and jabs was countless. However, every time he told you how he really felt, your heart melted.
You placed your hand on his thigh, the rough material of his jeans beneath your fingers. His body tensed to your touch and you cursed yourself for the way you had spoken to him before. He was scared. You were both scared. You had barely thought of the man until a day ago when all your feelings for him had struck you in the chest- almost quite literally - as the resurfacing of your memories had caused such a feeling inside you. It had caused a sick feeling within you, yes, which had resulted in you throwing up on a main road out of a taxi. However, it had also caused a squeezing in your chest, a longing that had not quite dispersed out of your body until your eyes had fixed onto Richie in that Chinese restaurant yesterday.
“Why are we fighting like we’re teenagers again” you asked softly, not necessarily to Richie. He answered you anyway.
“Its this fucking town, Y/N. You step into it and suddenly you’re sixteen again and getting random boners all the time or whatever” Richie stated.
You turned your head slowly towards him and opened your mouth to respond before shutting it again. “I think that’s a you problem, Richie. I don’t blame Derry for that” you finally replied.
Richie hummed for a moment, in thought perhaps, and you smiled - staring out of the windows at the passing trees which had become more numerous. Wherever Mike was taking you was away from the main town strip. Despite this, you felt a bubble of excitement within you at whatever was waiting there. You weren’t particularly sure why.
“I think its Pennywise’s fault” you said suddenly, and Richie looked from the road to you, his eyebrow slightly raised.
“You think Pennywise is causing my random boners?” Richie asked and you rolled your eyes, shaking your head at his response.
“No the feeling of like… becoming a teenager again. We left here and essentially forgot about this place right? So maybe… I don’t know… now these memories are coming back and making us remember who we were then” you tried to explain, your hands moving around violently to emphasise your poorly worded points. Richie watched you, his eyes off the road, and he smiled. You turned to meet his gaze once you had noticed it and smiled sheepishly, shifting your gaze away in embarrassment.
“What?” you asked, shifting slightly in your seat.
“Nothing” he said quickly, his eyes moving to the road but a smile still upon his lips. “I mean, yeah uh, yeah you’re probably right. That fucking clown is probably the cause of most of the shit that goes down in this town”.
You nod your head, agreeing with Richie’s reply to your theory. Richie’s GPS indicated that you had arrived at the location Mike told you to meet. You watched Richie’s face as it changed, his jaw tightening as he pulled the car over to the side of the road, parking it. The sound of the engine turning off reached your ears only seconds later, however both you and Richie remained in the car. Richie continued to stare out of the front window, eyebrows furrowed in a harsh stare.
“We should probably get going… Mike will be waiting for us-“ you started but were interrupted by Richie’s exasperated voice.
“What if I don’t want to remember?” he said, his eyes shut tight as he shook his head. You sat within the silence following his statement, waiting for him to continue. “I mean Mike said he’s taking us out here, to the fucking middle of the woods, to help us remember stuff, right? What if I don’t wanna remember. What if I’ve already remembered enough stuff to realise I don’t wanna remember any more”.
Richie finally opened his eyes, turning his head and allowing you to gaze at him. His eyes were pleading a silent plea that you had seen before, but you couldn’t remember where or when.
His eyes said that he wanted you to tell him it was alright for the both of you to leave. He wanted you to tell him that he wasn’t a coward, he was a genius and this wasn’t his responsibility at all. He wanted you to say “You know what Rich? You’re right! Start this car right now and take me back to your house. Fuck Derry! Oh, by the way, I broke up with my Fiancé last night, so we can go and get eloped right now in Vegas if you’d like? But before we do that, why don’t we stop off at a hotel, preferably one outside of Derry, and finally screw each other!”. He wanted you to realise that both of you surviving past the next week wasn’t just an option, it was something he needed. He needed it because he hadn’t begun fearing death again (not since he was eighteen) until he had met your gaze in that restaurant yesterday. He wanted you both out of here. Out of Derry. Out of reach of It.
He also wanted you to do none of those things, because you knew it wasn’t what he really wanted. He knew it wasn’t what you wanted either. You couldn’t abandon your friends; he knew you would never do that. He didn’t want to do it either.  The thought of anything happening to Eddie…or Bill or Mike or Bev or Ben scared him to death. And he knew that you knew that.
As you stared back at Richie, and into those eyes screaming his silent pleas, you remembered where you had seen those eyes before.
~
“New York is shit anyway; I don’t know why you even wanna go there” Richie said. Despite being the young age of eighteen, his tone resembled that of an old businessman who had travelled often for work. The kind of man who preferred a vacation in Florida. The kind of man whose talents were sales, golf and tax evasion.
The two of you were laying in your childhood bed. You had your head resting gently upon his chest, as he held you tightly around the shoulder with one of his arms. His other hand lay behind his head as he stared up at your white ceiling. Your bedroom door was shut, which your parents had only started allowing since you had turned eighteen. Your father still didn’t agree with it. Despite this, there was always the chance one of your parents could burst into the room unannounced, so both you kept vigilant. The cuddling was innocent, of course, but they would not see it that way.
“What? Do you prefer LA or something?” You asked, almost rhetorically.
“Yeah I think I might” he said looking down towards you, laying upon his chest. You looked up at him, his hand behind his head and yours on his chest and around his waist, and you smiled.
“Since when have you been a West Coast guy?” you asked.
“Since forever! There’s still a lot you don’t know about me, doll” he said, his voice mirroring that of Elvis Presley as he spoke the pet name. You groaned and rolled your eyes but smiled at the boy. You had always loved his stupid voices.  His smile turned downwards ever so slightly and you frowned. “That’s why you shouldn’t leave”.
“Don’t ruin the mood again Richie” you replied, sighing.
“You’ll leave and become this big successful director and you’ll forget about me. But I won’t forget about you. And one day you’ll see me on the street in New York as you’re walking into your building and I’ll call your name and you’ll say ‘sorry I’m in a rush, no autographs’! Or worse, you’ll chuck some change at me!” he ranted and you shushed him, worried your parents would burst through your bedroom door and kick Richie out for trying to seduce you or something.
“I’m not going to forget you, okay Trashmouth? How could I forget someone as annoying as you?” you teased and he frowned, grabbing your cheek between his finger and thumb and squeezing it lightly with the hand that was once behind his head.
“I’m gonna miss your squishy cheeks” he said softly. You almost melted at the out of character sweetness of his actions. “All four of them” he finished.
And there it was.
You swatted his hand away as he laughed at his own joke. He continued to reach for your cheeks, and you continued to fight his hands away, trying to grab at his wrists. Frustrated by his persistence, you lifted yourself up to sit above him, straddling his lap between your thighs and pinning his wrists with your hands beside his head. You stared down at him, smiling triumphantly at your victory. Your smile began to drop as you noticed the serious expression he wore upon his face. His breathing was heavy and his cheeks were dusted with a faint pink you had rarely seen before. You both stared at each other, the only movement between the two of you being the rapid blinking of both of your eyelids. Finally, you released your grip on Richie’s wrists, beginning to sit up before he followed you, placing his hands behind your head and pulling you back down into his lips. He kissed you deeply, tilting his head and moaning at the feeling of your lips upon his. Finally. You kissed him back just as deeply, your hands going straight to his hair and losing yourself within it, tugging and pulling.
You both pulled back when you no longer had enough air and once again stared at each other. His eyes, they called out to you with a plea. You know what he wanted to say.
‘Stay. Don’t leave. I want you to stay with me here, please.’
And you would. If he said it, you would do it. You just needed him to say it.
“Y/N I…” he started.
Suddenly, your bedroom door flew open.
 ~
“Tell me what you wanted to tell me before I left for New York” you said and Richie began blinking nervously, shaking his head slightly.
“What? Why?” he asked.
“Because I need to hear you say it” you replied and he sighed, running his hand down his face.
“Uh, okay well… what I was planning to say was that I love you. I don’t know if an eighteen-year-old can really know what love is but to be fair I’m much older now and still don’t know. But I know that when I’m around you, I feel like I could do anything. Like, I feel as though I could do a stadium comedy tour with my own material if I knew you were waiting for me backstage. And I want to go do stupid shit with you like… go shopping at Ikea for a bookshelf or something. Stuff that middle-aged people do. I want to go to Amsterdam with you and get high and walk around the streets holding onto each other and thinking we’ve had a stroke because everyone around us is speaking weird English which is actually just Dutch” he continued to speak, a smile across his face until he looked at you, a stern expression growing upon his face slowly. “And I want to kill this stupid clown and I want us to do it together so that when all this shit is over, we can move on with our lives. Together”.
You stared at the man in disbelief. That wave of memories that had hit you so strongly at the restaurant yesterday, the wave that had literally swept you off your feet, was all Richie. It was as though being within his proximity flipped a switch within your brain, causing all these memories and emotions to flow freely. You had been consumed by the thought of his love when you were a child, you had been consumed by it yesterday and today, once again, it had almost swallowed you up whole. You continued to stare at him, mouth slightly agape.
“Please say something” Richie said, tapping his knee with his hand nervously.
You reached over to Richie and his nervousness seemed to fade. He moved his head towards you also, meeting you halfway in a soft kiss. Your hand rested upon his jaw and his upon yours. He cradled your head as you kissed, the softness of his lips leaving tingles throughout your body. You moved away from his lips ever so slightly, your noses still touching and your thumb still rubbing the stubble on his cheek lovingly.
“Once we’re done with Mike’s thing here, I’m calling my Fiancé, okay?” you said and Richie smiled widely, rubbing his nose gently on yours.
“Okay” he replied.

It’s not that Eddie Kaspbrak hated his mother. It felt nearly impossible to hate somebody that loved you so much. Too much, Eddie knew. His mother’s love was all-consuming, smothering and didn’t come free. The weight of it threatened to crush him at any given time, and he had to pay for it. He paid for it in freedom, and peace. He paid for it with a crushing weight in his gut and a tightness in his chest that wasn’t anything close to asthmatic. Eddie Kaspbrak was seventeen years old and he was one bad day away from erupting stomach ulcers.
Eddie didn’t slam his bedroom door, no matter how much he wanted to. He knew that it would only bring his mother to the bottom of the stairs to scream up at him. She wouldn’t make the trip all the way up just for the fight, but Eddie wasn’t in the mood to listen to her yelling anymore. He couldn’t really handle being in the same house as her right now.
Frowning, Eddie turned towards his bedroom window. He clenched his fists at his sides and bit down on his bottom lip. Eddie wondered for a moment if he was brave. He knew he’d been brave once before. He’d done brave things, things braver than most people his age could ever imagine doing. He’d seen things, been through things. Eddie Kaspbrak knew he was strong. He just forgot sometimes.
Since the Losers Club had started splitting up, moving across the country and overall falling apart, Eddie though he wasn’t as brave as he used to be. He rarely ever felt like the boy who’d stood up to his mother in the hospital, or kicked at a demon clown in the sewers while covered in sludge. He wondered if he had what it took to be that boy again, or if he was gone from his conscious forever.
Eddie grabbed the sweater that was hanging on the back of his desk chair, laid out for school the next morning, and figured that the only way to find that boy was to try and force him back out. Eddie pushed his window up and smiled as the chilly fall air hit his face. His mom always went full lock down this time of year. Allergies this, cold weather that. As a result, Eddie always spent the entirety of October stuck inside of the house when he wasn’t at school. Eddie craved fall with a sort of crazy intensity that he’d never experienced with anything before.
Eddie pulled his running shoes out from under his bed and quickly climbed out of the window frame. He froze for a moment, looking down at the two story fall that was threatening him, and squeezed his eyes shut. He took a short, shaking breath and reached for the tree branch. He leapt, smacking against the trunk as he wrapped his arms tightly around it and pressed his face against the rough wood. Eddie let out a loud, shaky breath and smiled against his own control. He let out a breathy laugh and looked up towards the starry sky. Mike Hanlon always told him that the stars weren’t as visible in other places— cities and high population states—with all the lights and cars. Eddie had always thought that the stars were pretty, but he swore on this night, they were an all new level of beautiful.
Eddie skimmed his way down the tree, clutching hard to each branch and reminding himself not to be afraid with every step down. He reached the ground on shaking legs, and pressed his hands over his mouth as he steadied himself. He laughed into his hands, attempting to stifle it as he glanced towards his living room window. He could see the shifting lights of the TV screen and he backed away slowly as though she’d be able to hear his steps from inside when he knew perfectly well that she couldn’t even hear the phone ringing in the same room as her when she was in front of the television set.
Eddie ran into his first problem when he got to the curb. He didn’t have any sort of plan, or any idea of where he was going. He pondered for a moment, but he knew he couldn’t just turn around and go back into his room when he’d already gotten so far. The momentary panic over where to go passed quickly. There was only one true answer either way.
Moving into their senior year of high school, The Losers Club was mostly dismantled. Beverly had left the same summer of IT, and Bill’s family had left not long into the school year. They’d moved clear across the ocean to get away from the haunting images of Georgie at every corner in town, and Eddie couldn’t blame them. He knew they all had ghosts in this town, but the Denbrough’s were much closer to the surface at any given point in time. Ben’s family had left during sophomore year, very suddenly. It had felt like one day he was there, and the next he simply… wasn’t anymore. Mike had been much further ahead in the curriculum when he’d switched into public school for high school, ending up a year ahead of the other Losers, and had already graduated. He’d started at the University of Bangor a month earlier, and though he came home every weekend, Eddie didn’t see him much anymore. And Stan- well, Eddie strongly supposed that Richie was the only person who still saw Stanley Uris outside of school, and mostly because Richie refused to let Stan push him away like he’d done with everybody else after IT. Eddie respected Richie’s friendship and loyalty to Stan, even when it made his stomach twinge with something icky and annoying when he thought about it for more than a short moment.
Eddie still saw Richie around, they ate lunch together most days and sat together in their classes, but in the last few months, something in their friendship had shifted. Eddie knew he was partly—okay mostly—responsible for the rift between them but he often told himself that it wasn’t as though Richie fought him on it either. Eddie wasn’t sure he wanted him to, because as much as he missed Richie something fierce, Eddie had some misgivings he had to work through on his own.
And yet, Eddie found his feet taking him to the Tozier house, standing in the backyard, looking up at Richie Tozier’s bedroom window. It was lit up, looking soft and overly inviting, but Eddie didn’t sneak out of his house to just go into somebody else’s. Eddie picked up a small rock from the ground and tossed it upwards.
He paused for another moment, and was reaching for a second rock, when the window above opened slowly and a messy head of hair popped out. Eddie’s heart stuttered as he looked up, and he couldn’t hold back his grin.
“Eds?” Richie called out, and Eddie could barely see how his face crinkled up. Eddie waved in what he knew was a dorky fashion, but it didn’t matter much when it made Richie grin. “Isn’t it past your curfew?”
Eddie shrugged one shoulder. “What’s she going to do about it? Ground me?”
“You want me to let you in?” Richie asked.
“Nah.” Eddie said. “Come down here.”
“Okay…” Richie chuckled. “I’ll meet you at the front door. Which you could have just knocked on, by the way.”
“Where’s the fun in that?” Eddie asked with a waggle of his brows that he knew Richie wouldn’t be able to see even with his glasses on. Richie shook his head and closed the window, and Eddie half-skipped towards the Tozier’s front door. He was giddy with some sort of deep excitement that he didn’t want to put too much thought into. He felt as if he waited forever outside the Tozier house before Richie finally came out the door. He bounced over and kissed Eddie wetly on the cheek andEddie hoped that the darkness of the night time would cover up his flush. Richie’s arm wrapped around his shoulder, pressing Eddie against his side. “So, what’s the plan, my love?”
Eddie knew the darkness couldn’t cover up the full blush this time, and he turned his face away. Richie kept his arm around him. “I don’t know.” Eddie said honestly. “I didn’t really have a plan at all. I just saw my window and the next thing I knew, I was in a tree.”
“Little rebel Eds!” Richie cheered, jostling Eddie. “I always knew you had it in you! You’re braver than you think!”
“Thanks, Rich.” Eddie said bashfully. “But really, I don’t have any sort of plan. We could go to the Quarry or something? If you want to?”
“Nah.” Richie said. Eddie looked up, surprised, and his stomach jumped at the twinkle in Richie’s eye. “We can go to the Quarry anytime. This is your first time sneaking out, we gotta do something exciting. Something we’ve never done before.”
“I don’t think there’s anything in Derry that we’ve never done before.” Eddie said, his voice coming out just a little too sad. Richie frowned, his brow dipping down and Eddie’s heart fluttered as guilt ticked at the back of his neck. “But it’s fine, really, we can just—”
Richie grinned before he reached down and grabbed Eddie’s hand, beginning to tug him down the dark street. Eddie gasped as his feet hit the ground in a rush to keep up with Richie’s pace. He didn’t want to trip over his own feet, and drag them both down.
“Richie!” Eddie cried, half laughing, half gasping. He was terrified that he would trip and fall, but Richie didn’t seem to have any of those fears at all, taking large strides and Eddie didn’t feel out of breath at all. They took the darkening streets of Derry faster than Eddie had ever travelled without running from something terrifying.
Eddie wasn’t sure exactly how long they ran for, mostly silent aside from the occasional burst of laughter from one or the other, but before Eddie knew it they were running up towards the train station. The lights were on inside, and Eddie felt his heart flutter in his chest. He looked over to Richie, who was smiling at the building while the light reflected in his eyes. He turned to Eddie, their hands still joined, and tugged him inside.
The man behind the glass had given Eddie the creeps since he was just a little boy getting on the train with his mother to visit her sisters. Before Eddie learned first hand that the world was crawling with monsters, he’d thought Gordon at the Train Station was the scariest thing he’d ever seen. With sheet white skin, blue eyes that seemed inhumanly large for his face and black hair that he slicked back with so much hair product it looked permanently wet. At five years old, Eddie had once cried to his mother about the vampire at the station. Sonia had had no time for such whims and foolish fears, but even after defeating an evil kid eating clown, Gordon still freaked Eddie out.
Richie’s hand tightened around Eddie’s as though he knew, and he stood mostly in front of Eddie as he approached the counter. “Two tickets for Chamberlain please.”
Eddie blinked at Richie, frowning in confusion. He knew that Gordon was probably giving him quite a similar look. Chamberlain was a town not too far from Derry, but people did not get off at Chamberlain. It was a ghost town, long since abandoned by all their residents. If rumours were to be believed, there had been some sort of terrible massacre at the high school, and nobody had been able to stomach living there any longer. Within two weeks, each house on every block stood empty and buildings fell into ruins. Eddie supposed it must have been something a little deeper than just some high school students dying for the entire town to up to leave. After all, Eddie lived in a town where children got snatched out of the streets and were never heard from again, and most of the residents barely blinked.
“Now what business do you have out in Chamberlain, boy?” Gordon asked, leaning forward on his elbows and glaring at Richie through the scratched and dirty glass. “That whole place is a ghost town, ain’t nothing for you there.”
Richie raised his brow and gave him a half smirk. “Is it in your job description to inquire why every passenger is going to their destination, or is it just to sell tickets and look miserable all the fucking time?”
Gordon scowled at Richie and Eddie stepped slightly to duck further behind Richie.  “Have it your way, kid.” Gordon slid two tickets under the window and gave them both what almost appeared to be sympathetic looks. “Y’all keep your money, I’m not about taking cash from people walking into their deaths. You can pay me if you make it back.”
Eddie’s mouth dropped open, but Richie seemed to take it in stride. “Sick.” He said, grabbing the tickets off the counter and ducking towards the outside platform. Eddie remained, frozen to the spot. Gordon held eye contact with him until Eddie felt his skin break out into goosebumps and he physically had to look away.
“You take care of yourself, Kaspbrak.” Gordon said in a low voice, before taking hold of the window shade and pulling it remove himself from view.

Baby Bird [Part 2] || 2019! Stan Uris x Daughter! Reader
Word count: 3555
A/N: This was long overdue :')
Trigger Warning: Blood, suicide, death, lots of angst :)
The adrenaline was slowly fading away as you stepped foot out of the car, the fight or flight instinct was still all too real. Your dad had always been a quiet man. He had his other characteristics to him, often enough he was quite sassy, passionate about a lot of things, a loving husband and father. But right now the main thing Stan was running on was fear. The way his hands gripped the wheel as he drove, enough to cause his knuckles to turn white, the car filled with such high tension. It was either none of you wanted to break it, too focused on your own thoughts, or, that none of you could.
Stan hadn't even spoken when he left the car. Though, he did make sure you were close to him several times as he made his way into the Town House. "Dad?" Even as you called out to him, voice having an uncertain tone gathered there, Stan didn't answer back as he climbed up the stairs. You let out a small huff before following him up, not allowing the silence to take over again. "Dad?" This time you sounded more urgent, your voice didn't shake this time around, which seemed to be a good sign. Stan finally turned from the bag he had placed on the bed, brown orbs searching around the room before landing back on you. "We're going home." He said. Well, that was all Stan said before he began to quickly pack away the belongs he had taken out before heading out to meet everyone at the restaurant. You shook your head, mouth already moving before you really thought about what to say. "What was that about in the restaurant? We all saw it and you know what's going on." You waited for any kind of response to what you were saying. A head turn, a mumble of sorts, anything to have him acknowledge what you were saying.
But all you got was silence. The only real noise was the voices downstairs, who you guessed were the others who were doing the same thing as your dad. Leaving Derry again, for good.
Frustration began to build inside you more and mixing that with the fear and dread that was also there, it caused tears to well in your eyes. The feeling was too overwhelming and you were fearing something you knew nothing about. Richie said it was a clown, your dad called this thing IT. And you still couldn't shake the look of pure terror that was held in each of them when they realized why Mike had called them to Derry. "Can you please tell me what's going on!?" You finally snapped, hands closing into fists, chest slightly heaving up and down as you finally got a reaction, but not the one you wanted.
Stan had turned to you when you shouted, eyes widened as he stared at you. Yes, this was because it was rare that you both yelled, but that frightened look was still there and clear for all to see. You swallowed back the need to apologize, for now. Your stare didn't leave him when you spoke again. "I-" It was almost like the words were stuck in your throat causing you to not get out what you wanted to. Even upon trying again it was met with your mouth opening for a moment, before closing again. Stan's eyes finally soften as he watched you, a small sigh leaving him before he moved away from his bag. "I can't explain this to you without sounding like I'm insane." Stan paused again, gathering his bearings before continuing. "But I will. After we're out of Derry and you're safe, I'll explain everything I promise."
It took you a while to finally nod, letting out a small "Fine." Stan gave you a sad smile, kissing your forehead before turning back to his bag. "It'll be okay." He mumbled to himself as you waited for him to finish, which didn't take much longer. When he had his bag in hand you both made your way back downstairs, only to hear the conversation between Ben and Beverly with you, Stan and Richie listening. "I've seen all of us die."
You froze at this, Beverly looking over each and every one of you with a scared but serious look on her face, which crossed out this being some sick way of joking around with them. You didn't turn as you heard Eddie coming downstairs, the large bang of what you guessed was his suitcase dropping caused you to jump. "What did I miss?" No one answered at first, not until Richie spoke up. "Apparently Beverly saw Stanley die or something and now we've found out she's seen us all die!" He explained while throwing his hands in the air. Beverly slowly sat down as you looked over to your dad, though his eyebrows were furrowed together, he said nothing. Eddie had begun to pace at this, only stopping when he spoke. "Okay, so, what do you mean you've seen us all die?" Richie nodded at this. "Yeah because I gotta be honest, that's a fucked-up thing to just drop on somebody." You turned to the red-headed woman, who was wiping a tear away. When Beverly dropped her hand she took a shaky break. "Every night... I've been having these nightmares. P-People die, people-"
"There nightmares." Eddie interrupted. "So what, I have nightmares! People have nightmares, that doesn't mean their visions are true." You knew Eddie was trying to make this sound like it was just a coincidence, though his voice still shook as he spoke. Beverly shook her head, close to tears again. "I've watched every one of us die." At this, she seemed far away. As though she was trying to remember all of the horrible nights she had gone through. "I've seen-" You looked away upon hearing the door to the entrance of the Town House, watching as Bill and Mike walked in. Bill looked straight at Beverly, hearing what she had said on his arrival.
"Seen what?" He slowly moved over, sitting down in front of her as she opened her mouth. Beverly took a moment to actually get the words out, but she did nothing less. "The way Stanley had ended up in my nightmare... that's how we all end up." You let what Beverly had said run through your head, the words slowly piecing together as you turned to your dad. "The letters." Stan seemed to have been doing the same thing as you were, trying to fully understand what had been said. But he froze when you spoke about the letters. He knew you knew, even as you continued.
"You were writing letters to them until I came in, that's how I found you. You said something about taking yourself off the board-" At this point, you hadn't looked at the others. Just your dad. When you were home and reading the letter, you almost didn't want to believe what it was saying and honestly, you had almost forgotten about them thanks to the events leading up to this point. You were so busy trying to find him, you didn't have time to allow what you felt to show. "Y/N-" Stan began but you turned away. You looked to Beverly almost not wanting to know the truth to what would've happened, but the words left you anyway. "In your nightmare vision, he killed himself, didn't he?" She stared at you, eyes widened at the question but also something else. Almost confusion carved onto her face as she wondered how you knew.
You laughed at this. Though it came out like you were choking, you didn't need a verbal answer from her. You knew well enough. "Y/N." Shaking your head you turned back, tears welling up in your eyes quickly even when you tried hard to hold them back. "You were really going to kill yourself?" Stan stared at you with wide brown eyes, he didn't try to deny what you were saying, he didn't even shake his head. You almost begged him to do so, to tell you how wrong you had been and allow the panic that spread in your chest to subside. But he didn't. "I couldn't come back here, not after what happened."
You let out a scoff. Stan quickly reached his hand to you, until you backed away. "I couldn't put you or your mom in danger." You felt the warm tears leaving trails on your cheeks, these were the only things allowing you to know this was real. You wiped them away with your hand. "You didn't do it for us. How could you possibly think that would help us?" You tried hard not to let your voice shake or crack as you spoke, focusing on clearing the tears away more than watching your father. So when Stans's hand landed on your arm you didn't think twice about slapping it away. "Don't touch me!"
You looked around at all the shocked faces, before looking back to your dad. His hand was still out, though he began to slowly put it down when he spoke. "Babylove-" You shook your head as you backed up once more, this time your hand came up as you pointed your finger at Stan. "You would rather kill yourself then come face the problem head-on? I thought I was wrong about the letter, I came all the way down here to find you and make sure you were okay, and you were going to leave me, leave mom without a second thought? You're a coward and honestly? I don't think I know you anymore." As those last words left your lips you pushed past where Ben and Mike were standing, and out the entrance to the Town House. You heard your name being called, but that didn't stop you.
You left without even turning back.
***
You had been around the town most of the night. You sat down a couple of times, thinking maybe you should go back and apologize for blowing up on your dad, but then you would think back to it and your feelings would just bring you back to square one. You had every right to be angry at him, and your stubbornness just stopped you from going back to a warm place. So you were left with walking down the streets. It wasn't too bad, despite it being dark and your lack of company. Not many people were out which was fine considering it was the middle of the night.
At first, you were just going to ignore the alleyway that was to your left. You didn't really want to be going down a dark alleyway by yourself and would much rather stick to the main paths which were lit under the streetlights. The quiet crying is what caused you to stop. You peered down the alleyway, waiting to hear it again. Maybe it was just you hearing things, it happened all the time. But upon hearing it again you couldn't count it on you hear things. You reached for the phone in your pocket, turning the flashlight on before you took a breath, stepping forward you followed the quiet sound.
It wasn't long before you saw what the sound was coming from or better yet, who it was coming from. A boy around the same age as you. He was sat with his head tucked into his knees, you took notice of his curly mop of brown hair, it reminded you of your dads. At the thought of him, you frowned slightly but quickly smiled again as you looked at the boy wearing a light blue shirt. "Hey." You spoke softly, even if it still startled the boy as he looked up at you. His brown orbs narrowed because of the light which caused you to direct it away instead. "Do you need help?" At your question, he looked away again. He shrugged before actually answering. "My dad kicked me out." Your face completely fell at this. You used your free hand to move out to the boy, he looked up to it then back at your face. "If it's anything, me and my dad just had a fight."
This caused a sad smile to fall on his face as he took your hand. You pulled him up, letting go of his hand as he dusted himself off. "If you don't mind me asking, why did he kick you out?" Once he thought he was properly dusted off he turned back to you. "I uh, I messed up my Bar mitzvah. I wanted to make a point but he-" The boy stopped as he seemed to be getting upset again, so, you tried to change the subject from his father. "Well we have something in common, I did my Bat mitzvah so we both kinda know how stressful it is." Your smile got bigger at this, it looked like you had found someone in this strange town that you could actually get along with. "Oh." When you realized you had forgotten to introduce yourself you stuck out your hand towards the boy again. "By the way, I'm Y/N." The boy didn't hesitate to take your hand, though you didn't think the quiet male would have a strong grip. You were about to comment, hoping he would loosen his grip or let go of your hand, but then he began to speak.
"I'm Stan, but you should already know that, shouldn't you Y/N?" Your blood ran cold at how his voice changed, going slightly lower as he spoke. You tried to take your hand back, but he just kept the strong death-like grip. "I-I need to go, my dad is most likely worried. It's best I make up with-" You didn't get to finish as the boy began to laugh. It turned from sounding childlike to more demonic, something under his skin began to move, several more following. You ended up dropping your phone to use your other hand to try and claw your hand out of whatever was on you, but it was no use, not that you stopped trying.
"Sweet, sweet defenceless Y/N." You looked up at the voice, coming face to face with your father. He was different though. He wasn't your usual warm and kind dad who helped you with your maths homework, or the scared man you had followed into the Town House. The smile on his face was sinister, his other hand grabbing your arm, nails now sticking in causing you to cry out. "All you wanted to do was to see if I was okay. But you knew all along what was going on, the reason why I wanted to kill myself." You could almost hear your heartbeat in your ears, words coming out in jumbles but still creating a sentence. "Y-You were scared, you-you said it was something to do with the town."
The thing that looked like Stan laughed again, head twitching slightly as he calmed down. "And you were stupid enough to believe it." He sang out. He had finally let go of your hand and you thought you might be able to escape. But just as that thought came, it was ripped away from you as your hair was tugged, a whimper leaving your lips as you tried to move away from the laugh in your ear. "Let me show you what would've happened." You head was pushed forward, but when you fell you weren't met with the concrete in the alleyway. Instead, you were met with a familiar wooden floor.
You scrambled up searching around to be met with your room. That was your bed, and your desk, the same window you looked out of on rainy days. But the atmosphere seemed darker, duller even. You waited until your heart calmed, and your breath evened out before getting to your feet. You could hear the muffled speaking from outside your door which seemed to calm your nerves. It had all just been some weird freaky dream. A smile came to your face at this, you weren't in Derry, and you didn't have a fight with your dad. It was just you and your head.
You quickly opened your door, making your way into the living room. You froze when you saw the people gathered around your mom. They all turned when they heard you come in, all giving you the same disgusted look. Your eyes wandered over each of them, trying to figure out why they were here now, right after what you had just seen. "Mom?" She only looked at you for a moment before glancing away, a letter held close to her chest. You went to speak again but was too late. "So this is t-the reason why he did it?" Bill asked as he looked you up and down, before turning to the others. "I understand why he did it now." Mike was the next to speak, your breathing picking up again as he shook his head. "Just look at her." You were about to call out for your mom again, but Ben stood in front of her. "You've done enough already, you should've stayed in your room." You gulped as you stepped back though you ended up bumping into Beverly as she came in, she gave you a glare before pushing you away from her. "He didn't deserve this." You looked at each of them again, finally managing to get something in. "Please, I don't know what you're talking about!"
Richie let out a scoff. "Stop making this into some sick joke, you're a fucking murderer!" You looked at the ground. What Richie had said went through your head over and over again, you couldn't stop it as you finally looked over at Eddie who, like everyone else, had a glare set on you. "It would've been better if you were the one that died, not Stan." You shook your head, so preoccupied that you hadn't even noticed the tears running down your face. You tried to deny what they were saying as you backed up, but they just followed along.
"I didn't, I didn't want this to happen- I didn't." They all began to laugh at your emotional state, the same as what you had heard before getting thrown back into your room. "If you weren't such a disappointment, he would still be hear." At this point, you couldn't tell who was speaking. You stared around each of them as you backed up, and whatever they were saying just overlapped each other but you heard the taunts and insults clear as day.
When you felt the doorknob in your hand you quickly turned it, moving into the bathroom as well as slamming the door behind you. The voices stopped altogether when the door was shut, however, your sobs continued as you leaned your forehead onto the door. You coughed a couple of times while trying to calm yourself. You didn't need to have a panic attack right now cause you knew whoever was outside that door wouldn't help, instead, they'd make it worse. So you turned around, planning on splashing your face with some water and clean your face up before making a plan.
But all that left you was a deafening scream.
Stans's arm hung from the bath, blood running down from the cuts on his arm and onto the bathroom floor creating a puddle. His eyes were just lifeless, his head resting on his bloody arm as he stared down at the puddle. There was something written on his blood on the wall, and when you finally took notice through the tears you read it. 'Your fault."
Your back hit the door before you fell to the ground, sobs growing louder as you squeezed your eyes shut. You let out another scream as the door lurched forward a bit from whoever hit it, followed by another bang and then another. You moved off to the side of it, back now near the wall as you heard all the losers voices screaming from beyond the door. Your hands moved up to cover your ears, though it didn't fully stop the noises getting through to you. You finally moved, gripping at your hair as you let out another sob and you rambled about not wanting this to happen. You just wanted to go back to the Town House, back to your dad so you could just let him hold you. To tell him how sorry you were and what you didn't mean what you said.
But you would never be able to tell him that.
You closed in on yourself more as you heard the banging become more urgent, though this time, you could've sworn you heard them telling you to snap out of it, calling your name through the haze of panic. But you didn't move, you wouldn't allow yourself to be tricked again. So when the door opened, probably almost being yanked from it's hinges you didn't move an inch. As your arm was yanked you finally opened your eyes, however, the last thing you saw was a bright white light that caused a sharp pain to go through them, before darkness took over your vision.

“This is ridiculous,” Mike sighs in exasperation, “my friends and I had nothing to do with any of this.”
The detective at the other end of the table doesn’t seem to accept this. She’s a recent transplant from another state. Most of the Derry police department leaves Mike be, summing up his interest in police matters as a side effect of his fascination with Derry history. She doesn’t seem to be interested in giving that same assumption.
“You keep saying that,” she pushes, “but I think it’s strange that you show up to all the crime scenes and that two of your friends harassed one of the victims. Not to mention that Henry Bowers was found dead under your place of residency.”
Mike is growing more and more frustrated. It was surreal when the police showed up at dinner last night. The Losers Club plus the small group of cops nearly overwhelmed the small Italian place they’d been enjoying.
Bev, Ben, and Eddie are sitting in the lobby while Richie and Bill are in cuffs. Mike is somewhere between the two options or so he figures. He’s not sure he likes those odds.
Detective Lopez fixes him with a look that lacks any hint of retreat or gentility. She’s a no nonsense kind of woman. Her curly, dark hair is cropped in a pixie cut and her face is bare and set in a deadpan expression. Her blouse is a gray button up and the lanyard of her badge is tucked under her collar.
“It’s a small town,” Mike responds, “coincidences are everywhere.”
“Nothing is ever just a coincidence. Did you know Mr. Bowers?”
Mike calmly explains how Henry Bowers was the resident bully when they were children. How often that bullying went past simple pranks and low grade violence. To stop at calling Henry a bully was like trying to call Ted Bundy just an unfortunate date.
“You can ask Ben about his scar, that should give you a clue.”
“I understand that Mr Bowers had a history of violence and mental illness-“
“Being an angry white boy is not a mental illness,” Mike points out.
“Agreed,” Detective Lopez says flatly, “but that isn’t my point. My point is that several children and a man named Adrian Melon are dead and the escape of Mr. Bowers does not correlate with those deaths.”
“It doesn’t correlate with the arrival of my friends either. They weren’t here.”
“But you were.”
Mike is taken aback by the remark. All this time he’s been keeping watch, dreading the day that Derry needed saving but looking to save it nonetheless. Not that this town ever gifted him much beyond tolerance. He has no adult friends here, no significant others, only a series of routine faces that note his presence. Derry, Maine isn’t friendly or good. It’s not even scenic but he wanted to save it anyway. His jaw tightens.
“Of course I was here. I live in Derry. I’ve lived here most of my life, where else would I be?”
“You didn’t know these kids. You didn’t know Adrian Melon. Why did you visit the crime scenes? What business did you have being there?”
Detective Lopez is standing over him now with her hands planted on the table. She does this all calmly with very direct body movements. She never lets her frustration get to her. She harnesses it into orderly conduct and in a way it’s terrifying.
But she’s an outsider without all the facts. You can tell she comes from a big city by her demeanor and her thought process. Often a crime is committed by someone close to the victim or someone that makes themselves close. Contrary to the movies, the person most likely to kill you is the one in plain sight and right next to you. Monsters that hide in the dark and stalk you like prey aren’t the norm.
Mike is glad that he and his friends got rid of that norm for Derry.
“Detective Lopez? Have you ever seen someone die-“
“Of course I have. I’m a homicide detective.”
“I wasn’t finished,” Mike insists, “I was asking if you’ve ever seen someone die when you were a child?”
This gives her pause. Her elbows soften the smallest amount and her hesitancy is plain to Mike. She doesn’t sit. There’s no way she’s backing down that quickly but it’s clear she’s listening.
“I can’t say I have, why?”
“If you take the time to look into me a bit more you’ll know that my parents died in a fire and I was in the other room. I was too little to help them. I couldn’t save them.”
Now Detective Lopez sits down. Her posture is unnaturally straight and her gaze is still unwavering. This is either the best she can do to convey being receptive or it’s the most she’s willing to give.
“Can you imagine the sort of impact that has? I couldn’t even put down a sheep on the farm I grew up on. The idea of causing harm to anyone or anything, indirect or necessary or otherwise, still makes me sick. So please, Detective Lopez, don’t insult me with what you’re trying to infer.”
“Be blunt then. What were you doing?”
“Trying to see if there was a way to stop it. If you look at our history, you’ll see there’s a pattern. Every 27 years since the town was formed, a stretch of terrible things happen. That’s longer than I’ve been alive. Longer than my family’s been in Derry.
I thought maybe if I could pay attention for the next phase I could find the connection. I could save them.”
Mike can see that she’s regarding him as an absolute looney but Mike hopes it’s the harmless kind. She can picture him tinfoil hat and all if it means she doesn’t see him as a murderer.
“And what did you find?”
Mike decides that this is as good a time as any to tell one last lie. It’s not like she’d understand the truth of the matter. She’s the type to only accept hard facts and indisputable evidence. There isn’t anything he can show her to back the truth. Nothing but a lot of rubble on Neibolt street.
“I found nothing. Whatever makes this town the way it is, it’s not for me to understand.”
It’s not entirely a lie. Pennywise was just a part of what made Derry the way it is. Its death isn’t going to cure Derry of its bigotry overnight. There will still be small minded people, violent people. Mike will never understand that.
“So you’re giving up? Just like that?”
“I almost died because a literal living relic of my past broke out of an insane asylum and tried to kill me. I think that’s a sufficient wake up call that I’ve wasted too much time on this town and my own baggage.”
Mike can’t tell if she’s buying it or not. Detective Lopez gives away nothing. She’s an absolute professional to the core. Mike respects that. Derry could use someone on the force who can’t be swayed.
“I may need you to call you back in to corroborate a few stories so don’t skip town,” she gives him a curt nod, “You’re free to go.”
Detective Lopez opens the door to Mike’s freedom. Mike has a feeling that the others have been given similar instructions or that they will be given them. He wonders briefly if they should have thought ahead to confirm a set story with each other but he thinks better of it. None of the Losers are crazy enough to tell the truth.
“Hanlon, wait,” the detective stops him as soon as he’s out of the door frame, “tell your comedian friend that making jokes isn’t going to work with me. It’s not endearing and he’s digging a much bigger hole for himself.”
“Ma’am, with all due respect, trying to get him to stop is a joke in and of itself.”
—-
“Her first name is Jennifer!” Richie shouts as if wounded, “Last name Lopez! What did you want me to do?”
Richie can tell that his lawyer is not amused. His voice sounds really far away and it is. He’s driving to Derry as fast as he can.
“Richie, this isn’t your usual legal trouble. This isn’t stolen material or a damaged room-“
“That was one time and I was still a baby! How was I supposed to know what ecstasy looks like? You’re about to see the podunk town I grew up in, man.”
“They’re talking homicide!”
“I still cry over Bambi, for fuck’s sake. Do you seriously think I’d kill anyone for fun?”
“Of course not.”
Roger Clemming has been Richie’s lawyer since the start of his career. He’s a cousin of his manager and normally Roger has no qualms about representing Richie. Most of his legal cases aren’t even his; the man doesn’t write his own stand up so he can’t exactly be held responsible if it’s stolen. Richie Tozier is an easy client.
“I didn’t even mean to kill him. He had Mike and it was clear that old Bowers was totally batshit. I reacted. I don’t know.”
“So we have a witness. That’s good. The more witnesses the better. I just wish you hadn’t pissed off the Detective.”
“Yeah yeah I’m an asshole but I didn’t say anything about the case. And I stayed away from ass jokes!”
“I’m sure that’s what will save you.”
The Derry police station is not a big place. The holding cell is visible to the front lobby and there’s only two private rooms; the sheriff’s office and an interrogation room. Richie can see Eddie, his arms crossed and his face looking like he bit into a lemon.
Stressed out, Eddie spaghetti? You’re not on this end of the station.
“Be honest with me, Roger, am I going to jail or not?” Richie clings to a rare moment of seriousness.
“You defended someone from an escaped convict. If you sit back and don’t make an ass out of yourself we may not even go to court.”
Richie sighs and he wishes he could telepathically share this news with Eddie. He stares down Eddie in the hopes that somehow they do share a psychic link. Eddie remains pissed at some very specific wall instead.
“And, uh, my friend? Bill?”
“I’m not sure a trial can be avoided on that, but as long as there’s no physical evidence then the best they’ve got is circumstantial with no real motive. They’ll be grasping at straws if they charge him. Dead kids do make for angry parents though and sometimes they’ll pull a guy to trial because they’ve got no one else to blame.”
“So 50/50 chance?”
“40/60 of an arrest being made and I can’t begin to estimate the odds on him being found guilty. That all comes down to the kind of town your Derry, Maine.”
“Fuuuuuuuuuuuck!” Richie groans and buries his face into his free hand.
“Watch it, Tozier,” the nearby cop warns him.
Richie apologizes and feigns composure.
“Sorry kid,” Roger’s using his turn signal given the soft ticking in the background, “I’ll do my best but I make no promises.”
Richie mutters a sentiment of gratitude before hanging up. It would still be the better part of a day and a half before his representation gets here. Technically he’s not even sure if Bill wants Roger to represent him but Richie figures it couldn’t hurt to arrange it. After all, do either of them really want to trust whatever a Derry lawyer looks like?
---
Bill settles in for the night. To be honest, he’s slept in far more uncomfortable places than a holding cell. He wasn’t always a big famous writer. He remembers when he had to sleep in his shitty, used Toyota back in the early days. Now he’s got two houses, a celebrity wife, and a second movie deal. None of which he’s particularly sure he wants anymore.
It’s startling how unconcerned Bill is about the charge against him. He’s been taken in on suspicion of murder but Bill knows damn well he didn’t kill that kid and Detective Lopez doesn’t have much of anything on him except that he was seen yelling at the child earlier at the day and had been spotted at the carnival.
Bill didn’t want to seem entirely unhelpful though despite knowing they were never going to catch what killed that boy. He offered an account of what he thought was an animal attack but it was difficult to make out. Richie’s lawyer probably won’t like that he talked without him present but Bill doesn’t really care.
Bill blamed the yelling on a mental breakdown. His hometown memories were complicated and a failing marriage and work pressure wasn’t helping. When he saw a kid about Georgie’s age living in his old house, he lost it. It was easy to sell this because it wasn’t really a lie. Detective Lopez did make a comment to Bill about how childhood trauma seems very convenient in this town but Bill didn’t know how to respond outside of confusion.
“All right, everyone,” a tired cop announces into the lobby, “Y’all should get yourselves to bed. Visiting hours are over.”
The other members of the Loser’s Club are essentially draped across each other in the lobby and half asleep already. Ben is in the middle like some sort of handsome centerpiece. He has an arm over Beverly and Mike is leaning on his free shoulder. Meanwhile, Eddie is sitting on the floor at Ben’s feet looking tense and irritated.
They gather themselves up except for Eddie who continues to sit on the floor.
“Eddie, honey,” Beverly says softy, “it’s time to go.”
“Richie and Bill didn’t do anything wrong. I will leave when they do.”
Bill chuckles a bit at this and looks over to Richie on the other side of the holding cell. The look on his face gives him pause because it’s not what he was expecting. Eddie looks genuinely frightened in here. He’s also watching Eddie as if looking at the last boat on a sinking ship; one that’s just too far out of reach. Bill isn’t sure what to make of that.
“They’ll be okay,” Mike assures the sulking man on the floor, “I know these cops. They’re decent.”
Eddie doesn’t respond.
“Sweetie,” Bev is getting a hint of irritation to her voice, “we can come back in the morning.”
“I refuse to get up. This is a protest.”
Bev sighs and looks to Ben.
“We’re going to have to force him.”
“Force him?” Ben asks back incredulously, “Force him how?”
“Ben, he weighs 90 pounds soaking wet, what do you think?”
“Oh Lord,” Mike immediately understands the implication.
Ben thinks about it for a second and it dawns on him the same exact time it dawns on Eddie. Ben is briefly horrified by the idea.
“You wouldn’t” Eddie challenges him.
Ben looks helplessly at Bev who shrugs as if to say that there’s no other way. Eddie recoils as Ben clearly accepts his orders and approaches Eddie with strong arms ready to lift him. His stance is that of someone attempting to capture a wild animal.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t you fucking touch me!” Eddie screams while rapidly kicking his legs to slide away.
Bill again turns to get Richie’s reaction to all this. He’s pleased to see Richie desperately stifling a chuckle. The cop stationed here for the evening seems to be frozen in disbelief as one grown man is trying to catch another and that other fully grown adult man is essentially crab scuttling his way to safety.
On reflex, Eddie sends a hard kick and gets Ben right in the shin. Ben stops his pursuit to cradle it.
“Eddie! What the hell!?” Bev scolds him.
“Now that’s enough!” the cop finally sees fit to reanimate, “I’ve seen some bull shit in my day but I won’t have a brawl in the station! Sort yourself out or I’ll put you in holding! Got it?”
Eddie gets up from the floor.
“Oh no,” Richie says quietly.
Bill’s confused but looks back to the scene playing out before him. Eddie looks apologetic and humbly confronts Ben.
“Sorry, Ben” he says meekly.
“It’s just my shin,” Ben responds, “It’ll bruise but it’s fine.”
“No, I’m sorry about this.”
Eddie uses his whole body to send a punch right into the side of Ben’s scruffy and very shocked face. Eddie’s fist retreats just as quickly as it had departed and he’s shaking out the pain of contact. Ben cups his cheek, obviously not very wounded. The man’s essentially built like a brick house for fuck’s sake. This does get the cop moving though.
Eddie is escorted into the holding cell with Bill and Richie. Richie looks in awe of Eddie either because he was so reckless or stupid Bill can’t figure which. He does have sneaking suspicion however that Eddie’s little stunt has more to do with Richie than with Bill himself.
Eddie is still pouting and sits square on the floor all over again.
“The little guy will be free to go after he cools down, unless you want to press charges,” the cop asks Ben.
“What? No. No… it’s fine.”
Mike quietly exits as quickly as possible. He’s clearly done with the nonsense that just played out. Bev and Ben stay behind a minute as Bev checks his cheek over again. Bill can make out the soft conversation they’re having but just barely. She’s apologizing for her plan, saying she didn’t think Eddie would fight that much.
“No no, it was a good idea,” Ben assures her.
Bill can see the way that comment washes over her. Ben was always full of a certain sincerity and purity that none of the other Losers ever really had. He’s soft and probably the only one of them that didn’t end up with a ridiculous amount of paranoia or cynicism. Bill doubts that Ben is unscathed but it looks like he at least had the good sense not to unleash his unknown trauma on anyone else.
Unlike Bill and his marriage to Audra.
It’s painfully clear to Bill right now just how much Audra looks like Beverly. They’ve got similar frames, similar facial structures and they’re both redheads. Granted, Audra’s red comes from a salon but it suits her as naturally as it does Bev. They could be sister’s.
‘Why can’t you be how I want you to be?’ Bill remembers saying to Audra not long before he took off to Derry. He’s disgusted with the comment now. He’s disgusted with the fact that he kissed Beverly and it meant more to him than his entire marriage. He’s disgusted with himself.
“See you in the morning, boys,” Bev waves to everyone in holding.
She doesn’t give Bill any special treatment. No lingering eye contact or wistful gaze. It’s as if she never had a crush on him at all, as if they’ve never shared anything. Before it always felt as if she was looking to Bill and now she’s looking at Ben.
Despite a sense of heartbreak, Bill takes comfort in that difference.
---
There’s only two beds in the holding cell. One of which is already taken up by Bill who is sound asleep. Eddie is still sitting on the floor and up against the wall. He watches for the cop to doze off. Sure enough, he’s starting to snore in his chair.
Eddie quietly and carefully scootches over to Richie. Richie’s been lying on other cot, entertaining himself with some sort of impromptu, silent puppet show. He breaks from it as he notices Eddie encroaching on his personal bubble.
“Hey,” Eddie whispers.
“Hi…” Richie answers.
Eddie isn’t sure of how to move forward. Originally he had mapped out exactly what to say after the gang’s celebratory dinner. He was going to apologize for kissing Richie, explain again that he had panicked. He would ask that they move forward from this and go back to normal. He wanted to reassure him that he is very alive and not going to die anytime soon too. He wanted to know how much it meant to him that Richie cared so much. He never knew he was that important to anyone.
Eddie did not plan on embracing his inner chaos and landing himself in a cell for the night. He still isn’t entirely sure what came over him in that moment. The idea of leaving just hit so hard and quickly that he couldn’t do it.
“I went to jail for you,” he glares at Richie.
Well that’s not a good start, Eddie mentally notes.
“I see this. I’ll file it under your list of uncharacteristically brave fuckery.”
“I mean that I want to talk. We need to talk.”
“Oh.”
There’s a pause between them. That pause grows into a prolonged period. That period slinks into awkward silence. Eddie is aware since he brought up the conversation that he should actually start it but his head is empty. All he can think about is how the stab wound in his cheek hurts and how flustered Richie looks.
“Look, man,” Richie gives in, “We don’t have to talk. I get it. You panicked. Case closed. Mystery solved. We both deserve a Scooby snack for that epic conclusion.”
Eddie realizes for the first time that Richie is hiding behind his humor. He feels like an idiot for not noticing sooner but his eyes are a dead give away. Richie is making more eye contact now than usual. It’s like he’s forcing himself to present a put together facade. He’s watching Eddie to make sure he believes it.
Eddie wonders if it might be prudent to look at Richie in a different light. In childhood, he was always just that asshole friend. He liked to pick on him but never past annoyance. You’d think trying to steer clear of Henry Bowers would have made Eddie resistant to a friendship built on teasing. In retrospect, Eddie’s not sure what did open him up to it. By all logical accounts, Richie shouldn’t mean much of anything to Eddie and vice versa.
“Why do you do that?” he decides to approach it directly.
“I’m a comedian, Eds. Cracking a bad joke is as natural to me as breaking wind.”
Eddie could easily feed into this but he doesn’t want to. He physically sits up straighter and takes a calm breath in. It’s tempting to write Richie off as immature and continue down the rabbit hole of humor at Eddie’s expense but he refuses. Richie is keeping a secret of some kind which seems painfully obvious to Eddie now. If he’s ever going to move forward from recent events he’ll need to know what it is.
“What are hiding?” he leans in close.
Richie’s face loses all color. He stammers for a moment and Eddie is secretly pleased with himself. He’s so used to Richie getting at him that it is deeply satisfying for the tables to turn. Eddie tries not to stay in that mentality though. He wants answers not revenge.
“Bill’s the one with the stutter,” Eddie points out, “fess up. You’re hiding something from me and you’re using your crap jokes to do it. I won’t go to sleep until you tell me what’s going on.”
It seems a little overkill but Eddie is feeling the dramatics today. They saved each other’s lives earlier. They should be able to talk. Eddie debates their closeness as he waits for an answer. Sometimes it felt like they were the closest two people in the room and other times they were the furthest. Eddie wants to know why.
“I- uh,” Richie is sweating at the forehead, “I want to say first that- shit no. Okay, growing up I- fuck no that’s going to take forever.”
Eddie continues to glare down his friend. It’s not that he wants to force the truth out of him but rather his concern is growing. Showing Richie his soft side doesn’t come naturally though. So here he is trying to be a good friend but acting like a displeased asshole.
“Okay, here goes,” Richie takes in a breath of confidence, “Dinner.”
“...dinner?”
“Yes.”
“What about… dinner?” Eddie says bewildered before getting accusatory, “I swear to God, Rich, if this is a set up to a mom joke I’ll-“
“Dinner!” Richie says again a bit too loud.
The guard stirs. The two men freeze. A few seconds later a loud snore emerges. Eddie sighs in relief. He’s done just enough to end up in here. He doesn’t want to get in enough trouble to stay.
“You and me. Dinner. Us. Dinner. Together. Y’know, dinner?”
Eddie rolls his eyes and relaxes his shoulders. So it’s not a joke about his mom but a joke nonetheless.
“Oh. I get it. Ha ha, very funny. Like a date,” Eddie comments sarcastically.
“Yes.”
Richie isn’t grinning. He not casually avoiding eye contact either as he does with a usual set up. Instead he’s looking directly at Eddie with everything he’s got. It’s the ‘please believe me’ look from before but in an entirely different context. It’s sincere.
Jesus Christ, I think he fucking means it, Eddie panics.
“Okay,” he finds himself saying even as confused internal screaming fills his insides.
“Shit. Really?” Richie is as shocked as Eddie is.
“Yeah.”
“You’re going on a date.”
“Yes.”
“With me.”
“I guess.”
This is all on the premise that Richie is released in time for a date. He may end up in real jail. Then what would they do? A prison dinner date doesn’t have the most enticing ring to it.
Eddie feels like a part of him has detached from his own brain. Whatever his body is doing is past his control now. The surrealism of this unexpected direction broke him.
“Move over,” Eddie demands quietly.
Richie backs up as far as can, looking absolutely befuddled. Eddie climbs into the small space left on the cot. He’s tired. There’s only two cots and one is taken. It makes direct sense to share at least when you’re not entirely in your own body anyway.
Eddie remembers briefly about how the two of them would often share the hammock as kids. Eddie unceremoniously plopped himself in and fought for space so often that it became customary. He never did it to anyone but Richie though. He was the only one.
Richie braves putting an arm around Eddie and at first Eddie’s spine goes rigid. He’s not ready to think about this, not even sure if acting on it is right yet. He still feels far away from all this even as he Richie’s body heat cradles him.
Something about the way Richie’s hand cups the small of his stomach feels...good. Eddie’s body relaxes and he realizes how fucking exhausted he is. It’s been an exceptionally long 48 hours. A little shut eye and a cuddle isn’t so ludicrous. Even if it is with Richie Trashmouth Tozier.
“Just keep it in your pants,” Eddie yawns before falling asleep.

Richie, Bev, and Eddie being the wild child(s) (Eddie the tamer of the three) of the losers club. Maybe they’ve got piercings, tattoos, they’ll listen to music and smoke (Eddie occasionally tries but it’s not his thing, he’s vibing to the music tho) Richie’s nails are painted black, Bev’s got her combat boots, Eddie in his ripped dungarees. Taking road trips in Richie’s beat up truck.
I have this hc that there’s a payphone outside Bev’s apartment, and since she couldn’t be caught dead on the phone in her house without some flack from her shithead dad, she uses that one (it’s faced away from her apartment, he couldn’t see her unless he came out). So she gives Eddie the number and tells him to call at least three times, cause she’s bound to hear it one of those times, and that’s how they chat on the phone. She’ll call Eddie, and if Sonia answers, she pretends to be a telemarketer.
They’ll make plans to sneak out and spend the night in the clubhouse if either of their houses are too bad. Eddie brings Sonia’s sugary snacks, Bev will bring magazines or comic books, and sometimes she brings one of her dad’s beers. Both of them hate the taste, but drinking it and gagging at the taste and exchanging that UGH look... is almost like a silent promise that they’ll never talk about this to anyone else.
Because no one else will get it.
No one else understands what it’s like to love someone you hate and fear SO MUCH. No one else knows how it feels to be stuck in a box, and completely at the mercy of someone who was supposed to love you. It’s a betrayal they hope their friends never know.
Then there’s one night Richie comes by the clubhouse after dark, and he’s surprised to find them there. He honestly just wanted a place to read his cousin’s Playboy, and he was shocked to find Bev and Eddie. They jumped up just as a reflex, and it seemed like they were caught doing something.
Of course, he’s a little heartbroken because he feels like he’s on the outside looking in, and he jokes, “Wow Eds, I didn’t know you had it in you. Bev, I always thought your type was... Bill. But this is cool. My best friends... boinking.” and Eddie looks horrified and Beverly flips him off and points out his magazine.
“Were you gonna beat the meat in here? You don’t do it on the hammock do you? Try not to tear it off, Trashmouth.”
Only her one liners are good enough to match his.
They don’t tell him exactly why they’re there, but they swear nothing weird is going on. Bev isn’t ready for all that teenage junk, and neither is Eddie. He’s not really interested in girls at all. (”Er- yet, I guess,” he adds, almost as an afterthought).
Bev offers Eddie a cigarette to give Richie, “five minutes alone with Miss January” and that’s his first time smoking. He choked of course, but he does try it a couple more times before deciding he hates it. The nicotine gives him a headache, anyways. So Richie comes out and invites them to his house, and Maggie catches them sneaking in. She sees how dirty and frightened Richie’s friends are, and she always KNEW something was wrong with that Alvin Marsh, and everyone knows Sonia Kaspbrak is a bigoted, holier-than-thou nutcase...
and let’s just say Maggie Tozier was kind of a bad girl in high school. She remembers what it’s like. Sneaking out, picking locks, stealing a beer or two. Of course she’s still Richie’s mother, so he’s “in big trouble, mister.”
But his friends? While she “doesn’t approve,” they always have room here for Eddie and Bev. She makes them up little beds, offers them a drink, and is the mother neither of them had the pleasure of knowing. And that’s when they start gravitating towards Richie’s house.
Not too long later, he asks what they were doing in the clubhouse alone, at THAT hour. It’s hard, because Eddie and Bev haven’t even said it to each other. They just knew.
Then Eddie does something weird. He starts crying.
He hates crying.
It makes him uncomfortable, because it’s what his mother uses to guilt trip him. Crying never means someone’s sad. It means you did something wrong, and the only way you can make it right is by doing what they want, even if you hate it. Even if it’s bad for you.
Even if it makes you cry too.
So he hates crying, he never lets himself, because he doesn’t want anyone to feel as bad as he does. Especially not his friends.
Richie and Bev FULLY do not care though. They’re immediately there to comfort him, and it feels entirely different from what he’s used to with his mother. Strangely enough, it’s his crying that makes Beverly blurt out the truth. All the horrible things her father has done and said, all the ways he’s made her feel disgusting. All the ways he used to make her happy, because he was still her father. She talks about the anger, and the guilt, and the hate, and all the other ugly feelings trapped inside. Eddie wipes his nose and nods, because it’s the same for him.
Richie doesn’t cry about it until later. After he walks them home. More than anything, he doesn’t wanna leave them. Not in those houses. Not where they’re alone and unprotected. He gets home and Maggie greets him, but he runs into her arms and sobs. He really does love her and Went; they’re the best parents in this whole damn town - next to Mike’s.
After that though, Richie makes sure to always have room for Eddie and Bev at his place. He cleans up the spare room the Tozier’s have been using for storage, and he asks if they can get bunk beds. Or at least a big guest bed for him and Eddie to share, and Bev can have his room. Maggie and Went are proud of him; their boy has the biggest heart, and only a handful of close friends will really know.
That’s the beginning of it all though. Bev starts leaving nail polishes in the guest room, because really it’s not a guest room as much as it is Bev and Eddie’s shared room. Maggie and Went suddenly have another son, and a daughter. Bev always wanted a mother, and Maggie always wanted a daughter. Richie’s a little baffled when she takes Bev out shopping, but he has no complaints. As long as they bring back something for dinner.
Maggie inherits a sewing machine from her grandmother when Gran Tozier passes, and she lets Beverly use it in the guest room. She even starts buying spare fabrics she thinks Beverly might like.
Went meanwhile is teaching Eddie about how to fix a car, because he bought Richie a beaten up truck for his birthday. Richie knows how to change the tires, but he’s not interested enough to REALLY learn everything. Eddie however, watches Went in awe. He asks questions, gets his hands dirty, and he LOVES it. He starts to care less and less when Sonia talks at him about filth and potential dangers. He’s very, “whatever, Ma.”
Richie’s happy to see them both thriving in his house. It’s not like he’s given the shaft; he has his parents 24/7 and they’re constantly there for every talent show, every small bowling alley gig, and they’re taking pictures at every “first day on the job” even if he’s had 20.
All of them get little jobs to start saving up - they want an apartment somewhere far from Derry once they graduate. Of course, their funds are often spent elsewhere. Sneaking a twenty to the already graduated and legal Victor Criss so he can buy them booze, snagging scalped tickets to a Nirvana concert in Boston, getting the truck back when it’s ultimately towed.
And of course they’re still incredibly close with the other losers, but there’s something special about the three of them together. Bev does both of their nails, Eddie helps to perfect her eyeliner, because he can draw wings the best, and Richie makes himself the protector. He loves them both so much, and he’s finally able to believe that they both love and need him.

Love, Death – (2) Welcome Back || [Pennywise x reader]
Tumblr media
He left messages for you all over Derry, knowing you would eventually find out about them. You did, of course, and went there right away to see him again after twenty-seven years. There was something amazing in the way he lured his victims, mostly little kids to him, and how he manipulated everyone in Derry to ignore the fact that the entire town was his hunting ground.
Even though you knew he was probably in his lair in the sewers, you decided not to go there. That smell was terrible so you sat on the ground by the river under the bridge and waited there for him.
“I thought you wouldn’t come,” Pennywise said with a smile when he showed up in front of you.
Shrugging, you slowly rose to look him in the eye. Those stupidly beautiful and mesmerizing yellow eyes. It was nice to see him again, after all life was becoming kind of boring without him and his tricks. Your fingers brushed the red poms on his clown costume as you took a good look at them, previous memories slowly playing in your mind that managed to put a small smile on your lips.
Suddenly you felt his palm touch your cheek and you had no choice but to look up at him. But when he began to lean forward, you put two fingers on his lips to keep him at arm’s length.
“Oh, no, you still don’t get to kiss me when you look like a clown,” you told him with a playful grin. “You know the rule.”
“That’s a stupid rule.” Once again you shrugged then backed away with your hands folded behind your back. Pennywise let out a sigh before transforming into the human form you knew perfectly well, the one that didn’t have even an inch of skin you hadn’t touched before. “Happy now?”
Without saying a word, you walked back to kiss him, slowly wrapping your arms around his neck to keep him close. Not like he needed your help. Despite him being something that’s main interest is hunting and feeding most of the time, Pennywise often seemed to appreciate your relationship as well.
He was really nice and gentle; hell, he was even understanding and supportive on his good days, so you never had to wonder if you should return to meet him or not. He was fun, and spending a few weeks or months with him in Derry every twenty-seven years when you had an eternity ahead of you was absolutely worth it.
Once you let go of him, Pennywise was soon back to his favorite clown look and watched you with his trademark smile. “I may not be a huge fan of this clown act, but these yellow eyes will always get me,” you admitted as you slowly shook your head and let out a short chuckle.
“I’m starving,” he suddenly announced, changing the topic. “I’ll go find someone to eat. Do you want to tag along?”
You loved to watch him play with his food so the answer was always the same, although today something else came to your mind before saying the usual words. “But I just got here.”
“I had no idea when you would arrive,” he explained as he walked over to you and pouted like a child. “I didn’t eat anything and I’m hungry.”
“Alright, fine, let’s go. Just make sure it’s not some poor little kid.” Pennywise began to act like he was hurt and about to cry upon hearing this but stopped when you let out a groan and turned to walk away from him. “Cut this act, I’m not your prey. I won’t fall for it.”
He chuckled and began to follow you, catching up in no time. “But it worked,” he pointed out as he looked at you with a wide grin. “I love it when you come with me.”
“Honestly? Me too. It’s fun to watch you lure your victims in.”
Even though you had asked him not to choose a little kid as a victim, Pennywise still did that. You didn’t object in the end, though, because he was truly excited and you didn’t want to ruin his day. The kid’s death didn’t affect the natural order of things either therefore it was only your moral compass that could’ve stopped you. But it didn’t. You chose him instead and you didn’t regret it.
So instead of complaining, you decided to stay in the back down the sewers, watching as he picked up a small paper boat that fall to his feet and lured its owner, a little a boy closer to the storm drain to take it back from him. Engaging in that conversation and falling for his trick was the boy’s biggest and last mistake in life.
Some time later the two of you were sitting in the grass near the river, Pennywise happily munching on one of the kid’s arms. Most people would’ve found it gross, but you enjoyed it and didn’t think you could even get bored of it. So once he swallowed another piece, you quickly launched forward to kiss him, satisfied to hear the small arm hit the ground eventually. Even the blood on his lips tasted good and this was the very first time you found this killer clown disguise even a tiny bit attractive.
He seemed surprised by your sudden display of affection at first, but he soon wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer to him. With a playful smile you gently bit on his lower lip which drew a deep growl out of him in response.
“I love you.” He laughed before kissing you again, slowly reaching under your shirt to look for the hook of your bra. “Wait, don’t. Not here.” When he gave you a questioning look, you said, “I don’t really want people to see me having sex with a clown in public and it’s impossible to get you out of this stupid costume.”
Rolling his eyes, Pennywise turned into his chosen human form and looked at you expectantly. “Better?”
“Much better. Come on, I parked my car not far from here,” you told him happily before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

Chapter Four - That Summer, And Many More
A/n - Hey folks! Back with a new chapter! :)
T/W: Internalized Queerphobia
It's good to note, for those that may be a little confused...the Reader has been and is reflecting back on memories from when they were younger. When they refer to being with Mike now, that's the present time. Almost 27 years after their first fight with It. if any of y'all have more questions, just throw them at me, and I'll try to respond quickly! :D
Previous Chapters:
Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three
Word Count: 1,101
Summer went by very slowly that year. I had been grounded for what felt like the whole break, but in reality, had only spanned a total of two- and at the very most three- weeks. These weeks consisted of being constrained to my room, except for chores and mealtime.
Even Richie couldn't save me from the boredom that is house cleaning. He had stayed over once, but I had made the mistake of letting him sleep in my bed as I lay merely inches from him. Of course, my parents knew he was to stay the night, but it gave my mother quite the startle to see us. She didn't tell my father, thankfully, but had quickly ushered Richie out of the house(before breakfast, even). He wasn't allowed back for the remainder of my grounding.
Besides everything with Richie, not much happened that summer. We hung out with everyone at the barrens, and got too excited about comics- and sometimes, on days when it was too hot to go out, Richie and I would talk on the landline for an hour(or more).
It was the beginning of school that got exciting. Well, things weren't dull during fall, but it wasn't a good kind of excitement. My father had lost his job. He had been working as a salesman- a big corporate job that had him commuting two towns away every day for years and years prior, a position that gave very little time for vacations and time off, and just enough money to pay the bills and get food on the table.
It was a combination of things that got him fired. His commute(Derry was somewhat isolated, and two towns away was very far), for one. And that a new batch of much younger -and quicker- men had been employed that pushed out the need for those that had been there decades.
My mother, on the other hand, was a secretary, her job being much closer to Derry, and never had to commute very far, and was always on time for work. She still looked mighty well for her age, and in comparison to my father, was also younger. Her boss had surpassed middle-aged quite some time ago and didn't feel a need for one of them pretty young secretaries(as many other greedy companies appeared to employ at the time), as long as the ones he had did the job, and did it well(as she always had).
Her job didn't pay nearly as well as my father's, though. Which left our family in a predicament. My father found it increasingly difficult to find a replacement for his previous career, after working at the company for nearly thirty years(he had started sometime after college). After a good long month without any luck, he figured in the meantime we could move to a smaller place(albeit this meant living on the outskirts of town, near the farming district. If not to relieve my mother of the strain having the only job gave her, then to buy us time till my father could figure out a stable place for himself.
By the time October rolled in, we had moved into a quaint, yellowed house, with two small bedrooms, a little kitchen that opened into the dining room, a bathroom, and a living room. It wasn't bad, but given how tiny the house was compared to our old one, well, I didn't appreciate much of the enclosed feeling that it gave me- instead, I had an excuse to get out more. To explore, I suppose(though at nearly fourteen years of age, I had explored almost every inch of Derry- except the sewers, they always felt too haunted when you walked by them).
Our house fell between where the overlooked pavement of the road met with gravelly-dirt that led- in a mile or less- to the Hanlon's sheep farm. I had never interacted with any of the Hanlon's but had quite often seen young Mike(later I would come to find he was actually older than me) riding his bike into town carrying parcels of sheep's meat. However, he wasn't enrolled in Derry's middle school, so besides his weekly ride, I never saw him. I wondered what else he did besides work.
Despite my father still appearing very bitter from the start of school dilemma, he thought it would be great to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood. In more proper terms, though, my mother did, and my father begrudgingly agreed. My memory of moving was much brighter than when or where(or perhaps why) I had met Mike Hanlon.
I do remember he had this certain glow to him. Unlike Richie or Eddie, he was so calm and so polite. Not that Bill and Stanley weren't, they were quite well-spoken, save for Bill's stutter. There was something to him that I, in my 13-year-old mind, couldn't help but feel attracted to. Not physically, not then, at least. But I knew we were destined to be friends.
Later in the years, Mikey would always tell me that it was all apart of defeating it, in a way, that brought us together. I might tell him it's bullshit, and he'll laugh it off, and give me one of his signature smiles.
We just always got along, no matter what. We gave a reason for one another to smile every day. At the beginning of that school year, it's what we needed from each other. Things with Richie were ever complicated, and coming home to Mike- who had just finished his ride into town- waiting for me on the porch steps...it felt good to be relaxed around someone.
Mike had the daily task of trying his very hardest to escape from Bowers and his goons, and the rest of the racist bigots in our town(the Bowers gang was the worst of it though). For him to know, I'd be there every day to say hello, to talk, to accept him as he is- well, he enjoyed it. Mike reminds me every other day or so. It can be hard now, without the rest of the Losers, but we carry on.
Those first few months were crucial to us. I told him shortly after we moved, that I was something not so well. And Mike only looked at me and took my hands in his, "I'll be with you no matter what."
He was one of the only promises that were kept throughout the years. While the Losers Club(which hadn't formed by now), eventually disbanded years later, but we stuck. Mike, lovingly- jokingly- says I'm his glue. I could never disagree with that.

You know what they say about Derry, no one who dies here ever really dies.
IT + Pet Semetary = fun times for no one involved
It all started when their dog passed away.
They had decided to spend their summer vacation in Maine, a terrible decision on their parents as the city had far more to offer than their sleepy little town. Eddie had just started a new job and was only given a week to take off during the months of June to August. They chose July because that’s when it would be the least offensively hot in Maine.
Richie had landed a pretty sweet job interviewing celebrities for Podcasts. It wasn’t exactly what he wanted to do with his life, but he’d take it over being unemployed. Rather than sit around in their apartment for a week like Richie had hoped they would, they packed up their travel-sized belongings and headed back to the town they grew up in.
Despite his mother begging him to stay in his old childhood bedroom, Eddie put his foot down and settled to rent a room in the local townhouse. Sonia Kaspbrak wasn’t happy about it, but so long as Eddie was back, she’d deal.
Richie was content with this choice. For one, his own family no longer lived in Derry, so it wasn’t like he had anywhere to offer. Second, Eddie’s bedroom, which was basically a shrine to the poor guy, was too small for them to both fits. Not that Sonia would even allow Richie to stay there. She had never lived Richie, neither as Eddie’s friend or boyfriend, so Richie was sure if they were going to stay at the Kaspbrak house, he’d be sleeping on that uncomfortable couch.
Luckily, Eddie cared about his well being enough to not force him to do that and they got themselves a room with a mattress big enough for them both.
It started off pretty good. Eddie’s mother was beginning him to come over and spend time with her, wanting him to use up all seven days with just her. He compromised and gave as much time as he could while also meeting up with some old friends. Mike Hanlon still lived in Derry, running the library as the local historian.
Most of the group had moved on out of Derry, choosing to have lives of their own. The only ones they saw often enough were Bill Denbrough and Stanley Uris, who went back and forth from Long Island to California depending on whether or not Bill’s latest novel was to be turned into a script. The last time Richie and Eddie saw Ben Hanscom and Beverly (formerly Marsh) Hanscom was when they announced the birth of their first child.
It was tough growing up and growing apart from the people you always left closest to. Eddie and Richie were lucky as they always had each other. Through all the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, Eddie had Richie and Richie had Eddie. It wasn’t easy because hello, being gay in Maine was never easy, but they made it work back in high school and they’d make it work here.
The first day had been them getting comfortable and meeting up with Mike for dinner. It was nice seeing a friendly face to talk about all the things that changed. The Aladdin was still standing, still looking as beaten up as ever. The standpipe was still the obnoxious eyesore that made the town look ever so picturesque. Keene’s drug store was still around and Richie made sure to tease Eddie about picking up his inhaler replacement.
They hung out and enjoyed themselves in the townhouse. Eddie was still iffy about certain things and made sure to change the sheets on the bed with the ones they had brought from home. It was for the best and Richie wasn’t going to argue with him, especially since Eddie was more than kind enough to allow Richie to messy them up in their own way when they got home from dinner.
It was the following day that everything turned to shit. Eddie had promised to spend the entire day with his mother, leaving Richie to fend for himself in the penthouse. Along with their luggage, they also brought along with dog Penny. She was a preciously little Pomeranian who was sweeter than candy and the apple of their eye. They had been thinking of getting a pet for a while and after finally buying a place of their own, they went down to the shelter to pick one out.
Pure breed dogs like Penny weren’t usually brought to places like that, rather sold by a breeder, but they were in luck. Her mother had been put up for adoption while pregnant and the puppies were scattered across the shelter. They took the smallest one because it reminded Richie so much of Eddie and welcomed her into their home.
They weren’t too sure where the name came from. Richie joked that they called her Penny because she was dirt cheap compared to so many other dogs that literally cost you an arm and a leg just to have. Eddie liked to think they got it from “Penny Lane” the Beatle song, but neither was right or wrong.
Now, the thing about the townhouse was that the whole thing hadn’t been updated since they were kids. No nice TVs or anything from the modern era. There were fans offered, but no AC unit in place. Richie was suffering from the heat and opened the far window in hopes of casting a bit of fresh air into the place.
He sat on the couch with his computer, trying to come up with some new material for the standup special he had been working on. He was funny and knew he could be funny outside of the podcast world. All he needed was the material to show it off.
Well, Penny was a precocious little pup and always liked to inspect things. She hopped up onto the window sill and began yapping at the birds on the outside. She had done the same thing yesterday, except the difference was there were several inches of glass keeping her at bay. Now there was no barrier between them, so nothing stopped the poor thing from leaping out the window, charging at the birds.
Unlike the birds however, she didn’t have wings to keep her from falling the several stories down onto the pavement below. It was only the sound of her whimpering that caught Richie’s ear. It didn’t take much for the man to realize what happened and by the time he got down to the street belong, Penny was suffering more than any animal should.
Richie was distraught. Despite never having been known to be an animal person, Penny was as close to as a child that Eddie and he were going to have for a while. She was literally their baby. They had taken her at the moment she was able to get off drinking from her mother. They bought her toys and little outfits. Eddie talked about buying a carriage so he could push her around while jogging because her little legs were just too short for the three-mile trip he’d take around the city.
She even had her own corner in their bedroom and a dog house in the living room of their place, but at the end of the day, she always ended up sleeping on their bed.
Eddie even put a little staircase at the foot of the bed so she could hop on up without issue.
And now she was dead on the ground, having fallen from their fucking room because Richie couldn’t just put up with the heat.
He felt awful. Disgusting and terrible. Eddie would hate him for this, that much was obvious. He’d call him every bad name in the book because he just had to open up the window. Even if it was a mistake, an innocent one, that didn’t stop Richie from feeling like garbage.
He called Mike because he had no other idea of what to do. He didn’t know if there were any local vets or anything like that. There was no way they’d be burying her here. The last thing Richie wanted was to leave their precious little Penny behind.
Richie thought about cremating her and bringing her back up to New York. They could scatter her ashes along the water or keep her in an urn in their apartment. Eddie would probably want to leave a little memorial at her favorite park. They didn’t have a backyard or anything like that, so they took her to the dog park two to three times a week.
When Mike came, they sat together, with Penny tucked away inside one of the meatpacking boxes.
He wanted to wait for Eddie. He had to wait for Eddie because if they guy came home and Richie told him that he was gone and Eddie didn’t even get to say goodbye, then that would just make it so much worse.
They sat together in the alleyway behind the townhouse, smoking as Richie thought about his fate and how angry Eddie would be.
“She used to curl up on Eddie’s lap whenever he was trying to work.” He mentioned to Mike with a loving smile. “All she ever wanted to do was cuddle us and we let her because we were mushes. Now she’s gone.”
Richie rubbed his eyes behind his glasses, ignoring the fear of tears coming on. He felt sick to his stomach and looked over to the box just a few feet away from him.
“My dog died when I was a kid,” Mike admitted quietly. “It was before we met. Henry Bowers gave him meat that was laced with insect poison. Guess he thought the old mutt was an eyesore.”
Richie shivered at the thought of Bowers and all the old memories came flooding back to him. He had been a thorn in Richie’s side even before he realized he was gay though the latter didn’t help matters much. He was a racist, homophobic shit who probably went nowhere in life. Or worse, actually made something of himself.
Either way, the less they spoke about Bowers the better.
“My grandfather told me about a place high up on the hills near the old Native American tribute. Apparently, the place still has some magic hidden up there or something. Anyway, he  carried the old boy there and the next day, he was back.”
“Back? Like . . . back from the dead?”
“I can’t explain it, but he was back. Different, but back.”
“Different how?”
“Mean,” Mike confessed, putting out the butt of his cigarette on the nearby wall. “He was pretty vicious. Broke into the barn and killed a couple of sheep. My grandfather ended up putting him down because he was becoming such a problem.”
“Penny couldn’t kill a thing. Barely weights five pounds.” Richie mentioned, looking from Mike to the box. He didn’t believe in magic or anything of the sorts, but he was a desperate man. “Where was this place?”
Turned out to be twenty minutes away by car, out towards where Mike lived and even further than that. The sky was turning dark by the time they got there and passing through the woods didn’t make it any easier.
“I want you to know the only reason I brought you here is that you’re my friend,” Mike told him calmly as they made their way down the path. There was a small area with handmade gravestones and a sign reading “Pet Sematary” hanging above. The incorrect spelling would drive Eddie crazy and Richie found himself smiling just thinking of it.
“So what, I just . . . pick a place?”
“Not here,” Mike said and carried down past the bushels of woods and up the hill town until they came upon a bleak circle with Native American carvings all along the ground.
“Have you been here before?” Richie asked carefully.
“Once. My grandfather and I were looting the area for anything we thought we could sell.” Mike admitted.
“You stole from Native Americans? Don’t they have enough to deal with?” Richie inquired.
With a slight glare, he continued. “He showed me this place and told me a few things about it. He didn’t want me to be curious and find it on my own. Mike paused, turning to hand Richie the shovel as he took the box that contained Penny. “You bury your own.” He told him. “That’s the rule.”
With one last sigh, Richie got to digging. He didn’t think any of this would work, but he was desperate to find out. If it all turned out to be some sick joke on Mike’s end, then at least they could call the trip short. Richie would dig up Penny and they’d go to the next town over to cremate her. They’d handle her ashes properly and Richie would take whatever punishment Eddie had planned for him.
When he was finished, he found himself more tired than expected. Like the place took away whatever energy he had to offer it. He got back to the townhouse and fell into the bed, falling asleep before even realizing it.
When he woke the following morning, it was to the sound of Eddie yelling at him. He jolted up, not knowing what day it was or why he was being hassled. He pushed himself up and out of bed, realizing only now he still had his muddy shoes on.
He stepped out of the bedroom and found Eddie on the floor, kneeling down beside a very dirty Penny. Her normally golden fur was matted with dirt and she was yipping around and around, much like the bubble ball of energy she was before.
“Seriously? What the hell did you do, take her running through the woods?” Eddie demanded, looking up to Richie. “And you! What, did you sleep in dirty clothes?”
“You didn’t come home last night,” Richie mumbled, rubbing his hand against his face.
“Mom had me watch one of those Turner Classic Movie Marathons. I fell asleep on the couch. I texted you but I never got a reply.” Eddie stood them, carrying Penny in his arms. “Come on, pretty girl. You need a bath. And Papa is gonna be the one to do it.”
Penny was shoved in his arms before he could even properly respond. Shuffling off to the bathroom, he listened to Eddie go on and on about his day with his mother while he got the tub set up for Penny.
He watched the dog curiously, trying to piece together what the hell happened. For a split second, Richie thought that the entire events of last night had been a horrible dream. Maybe he had just taken Penny out somewhere and they both got dirty. This town always gave him headaches, a little memory loss was no surprise to him.
“Rich, why is the window open?” Eddie asked as he popped his head into the bathroom. “In the living room. It’s wide open, you didn’t leave it open all night, did you? What if a bird got in? I swear I leave you alone for a fucking day.”
Richie stared with wide eyes at the dog that was digging into the bathroom rug. If last night wasn’t a dream, then that would mean Penny came back from the dead. How the fuck did she get back to the apartment? How did she get into the apartment? Nothing made sense to Richie, but he tried to ignore it all as he lifted her up and put her into the tub.
Normally, Penny was a lover of bath time. At their own apartment, they had plenty of room in their double-sized tub so it wouldn’t be a surprise for her to whine and whimper until Eddie lifted her up and they all bathed together on nights when they just needed some relaxation.
She would sit and allow Eddie to wash her and blow bubbled with her nose. Richie had countless pictures of her on his phone where she had colorful shower caps on to keep her ears or rubber duckies to keep her entertained.
Now, the former majestic and comforting dog was growling and yipping at Richie, going so far as to bite his arm when he tried to wash her. Richie couldn’t remember a single time that Penny had a bit at him, had snapped at all, but he chose not to question it.
She was back and they’d live with the attitude adjustment for now. He made a mental note to message Mike and give him a heads up about the place, but for now, he had a zombie dog to wash.
After the bath, Richie let Penny go and she moved around the apartment, going into the corner sit alone. Richie also took a shower, washing away all the dirt under his hair and somehow in his hair. He changed into clean clothes and found the dirty sheets had already been stripped and changed by Eddie, who was back in the kitchen, typing away on his computer as he drank his coffee.
“I thought we agreed on no work?” He asked casually, going to plop down onto the couch.
“Not work. Social stuff. Updating statues and all that.” Eddie moved forward, going to sit beside him on the couch. He held up his laptop, showing a picture from facebook. It was from Beverly and Ben with their baby on the beach. An adorable scene with Beverly completely slathered in sunscreen because of her pale complexion and Ben wearing the ugliest fucking hat he has ever seen. “Aren’t they adorable?”
Richie had to smile. He wasn’t wrong. They were very, very cute because how could they not be? They had been together since the end of high school. Lots of back and forth before Beverly finally grew a brain and realized the one she wanted and needed was Ben. They were a gorgeous family and Richie was envious of her happiness.
“That could be us someday,” Eddie ventured with a smile.
“Babe, you wear like . . . three times more sunblock than Beverly and if you think I’m wearing a hat that horrendous, you’re mistaken.”
“Not that, dumbass. The baby!” Right. The child.
Eddie had talked about it before. The whole adoption thing. Richie wasn’t opposed to it. Eddie had originally suggested fostering but Richie shut that down hardcore because he knew better. He knew Eddie would never be able to let the kid go so at least if they adopted right off the bat, they wouldn’t have to deal with anybody coming and trying to take the kid away from them.
“Eds, we’ve tried to remember? We just can’t seem to get you pregnant,” Richie teased, the tip of his nose nuzzling Eddie’s cheek.
Eddie sighed, closing the computer and placing it onto the coffee table beside Richie’s. They had talked about a lot of things. Adoption. Marriage. Growing old together. His own parents lived happily together raising two kids before retiring to Flordia. They weren’t perfect, but they didn’t have to be. Richie just hoped to be half the kind of partner his father had been, even if he wanted to be a better father.
“Your mom's not gonna cry and beg you to spend the night again, will she?” Richie asked curiously.
“Probably, but I won’t go. I told her I’d see her later this week but I want to use this time wisely and actually enjoy my vacation. Not just run around and do errands for her.”
“What a good son you are, Eddie Bear,” Richie said, kissing his cheeks wetly. Eddie groaned and pushed him away, causing Richie to laugh out. “Seriously, though. Do you have any plans? Did you sign us up for anything? No one to have dinner with?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Well, then what do you say to a good old fashioned date, huh? I was thinking: movies, dinner, and a walk along rickety Kissing Bridge?”
It was what they did when they were teenagers. Hang back at the top of the theater, grabbed pizza at the local parlor, and spit loogies off the bridge to the river below. Of course, as they got older and became an item, things became more romantic. They held hands during the movies and separated from the others for dinner. The only spit they shared at the bridge were kisses shared in secret. It wasn’t ideal, but it was good enough for them.
“I think you got yourself a date, Tozier.” Eddie decided, turning his head to kiss Richie.
It almost deepened then and while Richie would have been more than happy to let Eddie have his way with him right on the couch, they both turned away to see Penny pissing on the TV stand.
“Penny! What the hell?” Normally when the pup had to go she would let out a whimper and circle at the door. She was well trained; they had her certificate at doggy school and everything, but none of that seemed to matter anymore. Eddie pushed up off the couch to clean up and Richie watched as the dog walked on, obviously not giving a single fuck.
They changed and left the apartment. Richie worried about what Penny would do when they were gone, what trouble she would get into. She wasn’t a messy dog; she had been a wonderful puppy and didn’t even chew on a single shoe, but now that she was . . . different, he worried about what would come of it.
Richie couldn’t think about that right now. He wanted to focus on something better and that was going out on a date with his boyfriend. They chose whatever the theater was playing when they arrived. Didn’t bother to check online, mostly cause Eddie wasn’t even sure the Aladdin even had a website. They chose The Monkey’s Paw, some old black and white film that was playing; bought their large popcorn and sodas and went up to the top ledge as they did as kids.
Richie kicked his feet up, waiting for Eddie to do the same so they could intertwine their ankles. They shared the popcorn and a few kisses as the film played on. It wasn’t a horrible movie; definitely worth the time to see it through Richie found he much preferred to watch Eddie than to watch whatever was happening on screen.
When it was over, they tossed out their containers and left the theatre. Eddie was talking a mile a minute about the movie they just watched, all the while Richie just smiled and nodded along. They went to the nearby diner for dinner and Richie watched as Eddie searched and searched before finally deciding to go with a plain burger. He asked what kind of grease they used, but gave up trying afterward because it was fucking Derry Maine, they couldn’t expect anything to be healthy around here, even with the growing vegan trend.
They shared fries and onion rings, talking about all the fun they used to have when they were kids, trying to split the bill with their allowances; counting nickels and dimes just to make it. Now they were both making money and paying for the bill was with a quick swipe of the credit card.
It was a calm night, sitting and chatting with each other as Richie continued to flood the table jukebox, playing all the songs they grew up with. He ended on “Together Forever” by Rick Astley because it was loud and dramatic, the exact opposite of Eddie. Richie sang it to him lovingly, not caring if anybody watched. The look he got from Eddie was more than enough. A glance that says: you’re a total idiot but you’re my total idiot.
What more could he ever want?
When they finished, Richie persuaded Eddie to take a walk with him. It was late, but not too late. The moon was high in the sky, just after sundown. The heat settled and the breeze was beginning to pick up around them.
They walked down the lane together, right up to Kissing Bridge. Eddie read the names aloud, trying to think if he knew any of the people. They stopped when they came upon the all too familiar carving. Richie had done it back when they were just kids. Barely fourteen at the time and completely in love with his best friend. The carving was faded by now, but the sentiment meant the same.
R + E
Richie plus Eddie.
“Forever and ever, babe,” Richie mentioned, going to lean against the bridge. He watched Eddie, catching the moonlight in his eyes and in his hair. He was gorgeous and always would be. “You know . . . I had been thinking about this for a while.”
“You: thinking? Oh, that can’t be good.” Eddie laughed softly.
“It’s kind of obvious that you’re it for me, Eduardo. And unless you can find another ugly mother fucking with a gangly body, I think I might be it for you too.”
“Depends on if the circus is coming to town,” Eddie mentioned, a loving smile coming across his face.
“Eds. I’m sure there are thousands of ways I could do this and maybe waiting until we get back to New York is the better choice, but call me a sentimental fuck, but I can’t imagine anywhere else I’d rather ask you this.”
He had both the ring a month ago, knowing eventually they’d have the time together and he’d be able to ask. Richie couldn’t think of a better place than their hometown. Not because of the idealistic ways around it, but rather because what would be a better fuck you to this horrible town than being extremely gay smack dab in the middle of it?
Richie got down onto one knee, holding out the ring box he had fished from his jacket pocket. It was white gold with an overlay of diamonds. Simple and elegant, just like Eddie himself.
“Eddie Spaghetti,”
Eddie laughed, his cheeks turning scarlet in the moonlight. “Christ Rich,”
“Would you do the honor of marrying me?”
“Do you really think I’d say no, asshole? Yes! One hundred times yes,”
Richie’s smile was as bright as the fucking moon. He slipped the ring on, which was the perfect size because he knew exactly what size finger Eddie had. He knew more about Eddie than he knew about himself sometimes.
When all was said and done he stood, towering over the other male, though he bent forward to kiss him, not caring at his glasses were pushed up against his nose. They’d deal with it later.
Lost in their kiss, neither noticed the car stopping in the middle of the bridge or the driver getting out of it. When they broke away, Richie turned to see an all too familiar blue thunderbird idling on the bridge and coming over to them was the same mullet-wearing asshole that made his life a living hell all those years ago.
“Well, ain't this a pretty sight.” Henry Bowers muttered, looking over to his companions.
“Hello to you too, Bowers,” Eddie said, looking the group up and down slowly.
“Tozier and Kaspbrak. Haven’t seen your ugly faces around here in a while.” Henry mentioned. “Thought I got rid of your losers.”
“No, that was college. We went there while you stayed and jerked off into a bucket.” Richie replied back easily.
“Always knew you two were fucking each other. What? Marsh’s puss wasn’t good enough so you two turned into a couple of faggots?”
“There is so much wrong in everything you just said.” Eddie groaned, rubbing at his temple. The ring caught the moonlight and Henry’s attention.
“Well, I guess congratulations are in order,” Henry mentioned, approaching slowly. He placed a hand on Richie’s shoulder, that sadistic smile that always sent a shiver down Richie’s spine shined darkly. “Welcome home,” He said cheerfully before driving his fist into Richie’s stomach.
It wasn’t their first beating. They had taken blows by Bowers and his gang before and back in New York they were used to someone shouting something at them despite it being new age. They went back and forth, each putting up a fight because they weren’t going to let Bowers win this round.
It came to a close when he tried to take Eddie’s ring. The shorter male bought back, going so far as to land a punch right in Henry’s eye. That pissed him off enough to brandish the knife he always kept in the back pocket. He held onto Eddie’s hand tightly, threatening to cut off his finger and wear the ring around his neck as a souvenir.
At this point, it wasn’t worth it and Richie was shouting for Eddie to just give it up. The other assholes were holding him down, refusing to let him up to help Eddie.
Bowers licked the knife slowly, bringing the tip of it to Eddie’s face to teach him. In a swift move, Eddie jerked forward, kneeing Henry in the dick. The pain was enough to send a surge of angry through him and Bower buried the knife in Eddie’s face, cutting deeply into his cheek.
Eddie cried out, both in shock and pain, while Bowers decided to let the knife stay there as he punched the rest of Eddie’s face until his knuckles were bloody.
Richie thought it would end there. He thought they would be left beaten and bloody, but alive in the middle the street.
They couldn’t get that lucky.
Using the last bit of strength he had, Eddie muttered one final thought. “You should cut that fucking mullet. It’s been like twenty years, man.”
With that, Bowers offered one more blow before standing to his feet. He shouted for the others to come over and help him. They left Richie on the other side of the road to watch as they dragged Eddie over, to the wall of the bridge. And in one smooth move, they lifted him up and tossed him over into the river below.
Richie was left screaming, spitting out blood onto the road as Bowers and his gang drove away. Using whatever strength he had left, Richie pushed himself up, scooping his glasses from the ground, and hurried around to where the opening of the bridge led to the river. He tripped twice and fell first into the edge of the water, pushing himself up onto wobbly legs as he went deeper into the water and over to where Eddie was floating.
“Eddie. Eddie! Wake up, babe. Baby, wake up.” Richie muttered, rolling Eddie over so his face was out of the water.
His eyes were open and his neck was slack. Richie could think of countless times he had gazed into those eyes as a child, as a teen, as a man. No matter the situation, Eddie always seemed to have a wonderful glimmer there.
That glimmer was gone now and replacing it was nothing more than a vacant stare that went nowhere.
His face was mutilated and despite lying in the water for over three minutes, there was no washing the blood away. It stained his skin in the worst way, leaving him wet and icky.
He was completely unresponsive and while it was plain to see that he wasn’t dealing with shock or just fell contentious, Richie continued to hold onto him and mutter his name, rocking him slowly until someone above spotted and alerted the authorities.
Richie was treated for his wounds at the hospital while Eddie was taken away by the coroner. It still hadn’t hit Richie yet that this happened. That Eddie was dead. When he spoke to the hospital officials, they said a full autopsy hasn’t been done but their best guess was a broken neck and drowning.
They cleaned him up and stitched up any wounds he had, leaving him looking more like Frankenstein than anything. He called Mike, not knowing what else to do in this situation. And Mike called Stanley and Bill because this wasn’t something Richie should have to deal with alone.
When Richie tried to report the crime, however, he found himself being rebuffed.
“Henry Bowers couldn’t have done this,” The officer on call explained to him. “He’s on the force. He might be a hothead like his old man, but he wouldn’t break the law. He is the law.”
“Do you think I am fucking lying about this?” Richie practically screamed.
“You already said his dad was a hothead. What makes you think Bowers wouldn’t do this?” Mike challenged the officer.
“Because he is an officer. Now, unless you want to give me a real report, I suggest you deal with your own trouble.”
The officer walked away and the only reason why he didn’t straight up maul the officer was because of Mike holding him back.
“I haven’t even seen him!” Richie shouted to Mike, beginning to pace the hospital, having not seen Eddie since they arrived at the hospital. “I don’t even fucking know where he is.”
He was breaking down. He knew he was breaking down and there was no way to stop it. Richie wanted to fall to the ground and cry, not caring who saw him. He had just proposed. They were going to get married. They were going to look into adoption, they would have a family. Everything was going so fucking well for them and now it felt like the world was falling apart around them.
Mike ended up sweet talking one of the nurses into letting Richie see Eddie. He was given a five-minute window, which seemed cruel for a man who watched his lover died.
He laid on the slab completely still, eyes still wide open as he looked out over nothing. They washed away the blood, though the bruises still remained. There was no point in stitching him up, leaving the wound open on his cheese.
There was no denying it anymore. He wasn’t just frozen in the moment or in a vegetative state. Eddie Kaspbrak was dead and there was no going back.
Richie could only apologize so many times but he’d go on and on for as long as it took. He was so fucking sorry. Sorry that he let Penny fall from the window. Sorry that he fought with his mother to the point where she didn’t want him at her house. Sorry that he bothered to propose in public in such a fucked uptown.
Richie was just so fucking sorry.
All their plans were gone. All their hopes were gone. Eddie was gone.
But he didn’t have to be.
In the darkest part of Richie’s mind, he knew there had to be a way it would work. It worked on a dog, so why not a man? Anything was possible, right? And if it didn’t work, then at least then he would know and he could have closure. If it didn’t work then he’d confess to everything and they’d bury Eddie for real. They’d give him a proper burial and his mom would have Richie even more but that was fine.
It was worth a shot.
Stealing a body from a hospital wasn’t easy and he didn’t really know what to do once he slipped through the back door. He carried Eddie, wrapped up in the sheet from the hospital, all the way to the area that Mike had first taken him too. Richie had never been very strong, but he found the strength to take Eddie all the way up there.
He walked down the path and up the hill. He went passed the dead animals and into the circle. He found a place right in the middle and started digging. He dug, and dug, and dug until there was nothing left but a gaping hole.
He pulled Eddie into it, holding him for just a moment longer.
“Come back to me,” He muttered, laying him down in the dirt. “You fucking come back to me, you understand?”
Pulling himself out of the hole, Richie pushed all the dirt back on until Eddie was completely covered. Lightening light up the sky and rain began to fall down, though he carried on until the hole was complete. He walked back down the trail in a trance, stopping only when he found Mike at the bottom.
“I couldn’t find you,” Mike said, his voice low and shaking. He looked over Richie, seeing the dirt on his clothes and on his hands. “I couldn’t find you and I knew. Richie . . . whatever you did-”
“It’s done,” Richie told him simply, pushing passed him to continue ongoing down the lane.
“Whatever you think you did, it won’t work. Whatever returns to you, it won’t be Eddie!” Mike warned. He reached back, grabbing Richie’s arm to stop him from walking. “My grandfather had a friend, Rich. His son died overseas and he was so desperate to have him back-”
“It’s done, Mike!” Richie shouted to him, pushing him off. “The law won’t do anything, what other choice did I have?!”
Nobody would listen to Richie, nobody cared about what he had to say. He was just another gay man. Useless and pathetic. Wanting all the attention. There was no way they would believe him if he tried to bring this to outside police or even to court. An off duty police officer vs a homosexual.
There would have been proof. They found the knife that was plunged into Eddie’s cheek; it had the initials of Bower's father along the body of it. And it wasn’t like Richie could kick the shit out of himself and Eddie and still have the strength to push him over the bridge.
All the proof was there, but they still wouldn’t listen. Richie, in his desperation and depression, saw no real solution to this problem.
“Using a fucking Native American burial ground should have never been a choice!” Mike insisted.
“You showed it to be in the first place.”
“For your dog! Not your boyfriend!”
Richie’s eyes glazed over, his head shaking as his glasses became fogged up from the rain. “Eddie will come back. Just like Penny did.”
“It won’t end well, Richie,” Mike warned, but the other man wasn’t listening.
He just kept walking down the lane, all the way back to the townhouse.

Roses are red, corpses are blue 🥀
Sound of water running
Sounds of skin being teared and bones cracking
Sounds of chewing
The blood was still warm and it kept on flowing and spilling at each of the weaker pumps of the dying heart my victim was holding in his chest, but not for much longer. His lifeless eyes were fixed in one far point of the ceiling, with a pale white cloud on them because of the deadlights. His skin was acquiring the same pale tone with every passing minute as I kept on draining his body, one big sip at the time.
Horrified eyes were watching the raw and bloody show in a petrified silence with only the sound of a panting breathing as background. A piece of cloth was doing its job nicely by muffling the desperate screams of my second victim. Her long charcoal like hair was all tangled around her face and her green irises were almost two lines because how much her pupils got dilated. My best guess was that her tears were blurring her sight, avoiding her to have a clear view at the macabre of my feast, which I didn’t care much. Sooner or later her fate would be the same as her male human partner, only difference was I would be a bit gentler with her pretty face just to keep it as a souvenir.
I looked up and saw the sun was beginning to crawl slowly to the holes. The weak rays of light will soon cover the surface above the sewers and I wasn’t that fond of taking walks under the heat, so I would spend the rest of the day hiding at the comfortable shadows of my lair, waiting for the night again.
The female human was still struggling with the knots around her wrists and ankles, doing her best to free herself from them, unsuccessfully though. The more she fought it, the sweeter she would taste in the end. I only needed to wait for her to get tired, as a wounded animal trapped waiting for the merciful death to put an end to its suffering.
Silence
Constant notes of absence of sound managed to fill the air bringing an apparently calm to the sewers and its endless tunnels. There was no more whining or crying coming from the female human. I took a distant look at her and she had definitely passed out. She was turning herself into a tasty midnight snack without even knowing.
My four pair of bright yellow eyes was dissecting her body beforehand, peeling the flesh of her bones straight to their core. The more I imagined myself swallowing her teared limbs the more I had started to drool.
Getting back to a human shape was easier than my real form. The process was the same and nonetheless I liked to be hanging around in said form, inhabit a clown like shape always got me closer to humans in a very particular way, especially with children. But not this time. This time I was starving and I needed something bigger to satisfy my seemingly never ending appetite.
The sun has begun hiding behind the trees and with it the whole town was getting ready to sleep and that was my favorite part of the day. Blending in among the shadows was my best disguise, like a chameleon hiding in plain sight. Using human’s worse fears against them was my finest weapon and physical contact was sometimes unnecessary, mostly with children. Lure them with delicious treats or toys were easy, they would fall for either of them as flies fall for honey. It got more interesting when I had to catch bigger prey for they weren’t that easy to coax and their instinct was also wary. Adults represented a whole challenge sometimes.
However this human female seemed she had never encountered such horrific things in her life since she was still being consumed by panic attacks and sickness. I could tell by the look in her eyes that she was far from having experienced something bad and that was making her in some kind of a living toy. A handful of sorry and twisted nerves exposed just to my amusement. I was still elaborating how I would torture and scare her to get the best of her wayward mind, and to be honest, I was deeply enjoying it.
By the time she opened those emerald like eyes, I was already crouching in front of her. Still wearing my collar soaked in the blood of her friend, she couldn’t help but get sick again and tried to throw up. The gag in her mouth wouldn’t let her do such thing but the retches would surely come in quick so I decided she already had enough and removed it. I got closer to her face and with my clawed finger I moved away a lock of her black silky hair to a side. Her eyes were locked on mine and her fear was palpable yet she didn’t look away.
– If you behave – I whispered in her hear- I will let go of your hands.
She had a hard time swallowing but then she nodded as fast as she could without saying a word. My long and slicky tongue traced the curves of her chin and cheek before I kept my promise of releasing her wrists from the ropes tied strongly to a pipe. As soon as her hands were free she rubbed them vigorously to soothe the pain. I tilted my head to the sides several times and watched her movements carefully. Despite being scared shitless I must admit she remained calm admirably.
Not being a possible threat, I decided to release her feet but taking some precautions anyways. I tied a rope to her neck long enough for her to have some freedom, nonetheless, she will still remain tied up to one of the walls since I didn’t trusted her completely, at least not yet. First time alone she cut the rope and ran away to which left me no other choice but to punish her harshly. Second time she made it far enough for me to shorten the rope a couple of feet and whoop her ass badly. After that day there was no third try.
– ¡You are such an asshole, Penny! – I heard her yell across the room and couldn’t help but laugh at the frustration in her voice.
– ¿What's the matter, little creature? – I answered back with my retarded typical tone of voice making fun of her crankiness-. Thought you would want to taste something new.
– ¡Go to hell! – She replied even more angry throwing the bag at me-. You know how much I hate raw meat, Penny.
I took what was inside the bag and eat it in one bite. She looked at me and I could see an exponential fire growing inside of her big enough to burn all Derry to the ground. I got used to her bad temper bursts after being living together for almost a month but she still couldn’t get used to my food pranks from time to time. She being annoyed was one of the moments I liked her the most, how the wrinkles took place in her forehead and that slight change in the tone of her eyes was delicious. It was like she was transforming herself into a wild animal and that, to be honest with myself, got me a little horny.
First time I tried to get close to her in a more intimate way she rejected me by scratching one side of my face with such fiercely strength that almost took my eye out. Needless to say that very same day we had a bit of a bloody battle along the tunnels to see who was the most feral of us two. Also needless to say she ended up pinned against the floor and being fucked hard. After that afternoon she knew that every time I wanted to release myself inside of her she would have to agree to my basic needs, otherwise I would unleash the beastly side on her without caring too much the later outcome.
The days passed by and she got more used to me and my mood swings which ended up being a good thing for both since now she would understand me, me without saying a word sometimes. We became, basically, into a couple of animals with the only needs of eating and fucking; last thing started happening quite often which I wouldn’t complain about. It was like some kind of symbiotic relationship in which both would get what we wanted.
Seasons would hide peculiar features that would also affect, in some way, my little prey’s behavior. I would start discovering them later on that year and things would get even more interesting. Spring season would become like some kind of mating season, as many mammals had, and during that time she would go after me and offer herself to me without hesitation. She would just want me inside of her as many times possible, leading the rhythm or not, being up or down or in any new position she could come up with. Autumn would be the season in which she would avoid me by any means but when cold days started to show up, she would finally seek for my warmth once again.
One night, with a clear starry sky above our heads, she came closer and curled up next to me, wrapping her skinny arms around my chest in some kind of hug, rested her head on me and sighed. I could sense something unusual in her that night but wouldn’t dare to speak; oddly, I was feeling comfortable with that. Then, softly between mumbles, I heard her say:
– I'm starting to like you, Penny – she hid her face in the hollow of my neck-. I'm starting to like you a lot…
I still don’t know what it moved inside of me, all I know is how that made me feel.
