as they’re all starting to realize in different combinations that they like each other, mike and max realize fairly early but are both so stubborn and refuse to be the first to admit it until they end up just naturally drifting closer and accidentally being more genuine with each other, and lucas and el are like “aww it’s so nice to see you two getting along!!” and mike and max, simps that they are, both agree that “well if it makes lucas and el happy then I GUESS we can admit we like each other.” but they’re still really repressed about it so they translate these feelings into a competition of who can show the other more affection (they’re disasters. el and lucas love them for it <3)

Everytime I think about Elmax I’m like “but it should be Elumax :// bc Lucas deserves two gfs” and then I’m like “but wait Wheelclair fucks so hard :/“ and long story short I always end up just concluding that El/Mike/Max/Lucas should all just be together and every time I go on this long train of thought I think about your blog.

max doesn't have a bad dynamic on the show. lucas? believable teenage romance and somehow still smth so profound and tender. cutest & funniest. facilitate growth in each other and look at each other with those big eyes... dustin? better off as friends done right. no duo funnier. mike? two cats hissing at each other. foils due to their similarities. they get the same haircut at least once in their lives. billy? devastating exploration of the vicious cycle of abuse and grief that blooms, still, after everything. el? pov you're like the only female peer around and you have some Opinions and you're immediately ready to support whatever move she makes but also you're a teenager not a therapist so you do the best you can to be a friend, to help her be her own person. the abiding bond you develop along the way is probably just collateral. steve? there is no one easier to steamroll than some only child who's stuck with you. nancy? teaches felonies, won't stop until you're safe but understands more than anyone the need to put yourself in harm's way to say the buck stops with me.

richie tozier high school valedictorian headcanon is so funny to me because. like. none of the teachers would want to give him it. there's no way he pays attention in class. he's always drawing or passing notes to bev or kicking at the back of eddies chair or doing the homework assigned the other night right in front of your face. but you call on him to answer a question from three chapters ahead in the textbook all smug like there's NO WAY this kid can answer this and he sits there with the worlds most innocent look and answers perfectly. then proceeds to go back to pissing eddie off
