Not sure if you still post for the IT fandom but 18+reddie pretty please
Thank you! Number 18 was Ghost Towns by Radical Face, so here's a bit of established-relationship Reddie returning to Derry.

Just past the Derry town line, Richie swerves the car to the right so suddenly that Eddie thinks an animal must have run out in the road. Then he brakes jerkily and guides it onto the shoulder, gravel crunching beneath the wheels. The close-growing goldenrod brushes against the passenger door as he throws it into park with a lurch.
Eddie lifts his head, blinking heavily. Usually, he drives—Richie likes to tease him for being a control-freak, but the truth is they’re both happier when Richie can fuck around on his phone and Eddie can focus on the road instead of biting his tongue on complaints about how fast Richie tends to take the turns—but he took a Xanax on the plane and he's still a little groggy.
“You okay?” he asks.
“Yep,” Richie says tightly.
“You're not about to throw up, are you?”
Richie shakes his head. His shoulders heave, and he says, “No, I think I'm gonna fucking cry.”
“Oh,” Eddie says. And then, “Oh, shit, sweetheart, come here—”
Richie folds into his arms. It’s awkward with the center console between them, the cup-holder digging into Eddie’s hip, but he pays it no mind. Richie is clutching at him—shoulder, hip, the back of his head, quick frantic touches like he’s reassuring himself that Eddie is here—and his whole body shakes with sobs. It’s deeply jarring. Richie is a self-proclaimed crybaby, inclined to get teary-eyed at movies and romantic gestures and often enough during sex, but the only time Eddie has ever seen him cry like this in all the time they’ve been together was at his father’s funeral.
Just like he did then, Eddie holds him close and tries his best to hide his shock.
“Hey,” he says softly, into Richie’s hair. “Hey, it’s okay, you’re okay, come on.”
“Yeah,” Richie says raggedly. His face is still pressed to Eddie’s shoulder; Eddie’s t-shirt is wet with tears and snot, but he’ll worry about that later. "This fucking place. Do you remember?"
"Some," Eddie admits. He's been getting bits and pieces ever since Mike's phone call. It's all still tangled up: the playground and the Barrens and the bridge with friendly phrases like suck my infected cockkk carved on it. Big Bill. Stanley. Mike and Beverly and Ben. Sepia-toned flashes of memory, all out of order. Playing Chutes and Ladders on the floor of the Denbrough house with Bill and Georgie. Standing in the funeral home in his one good suit, watching Bill stare at a tiny coffin with a blank, stunned numbness that seemed beyond tears.
There's more. He knows there's more. More, and impossibly worse.
“Something really bad happened to us here, didn’t it?” Richie asks eventually. His voice is still thick.
Eddie nods. That memory still feels slippery and shadowed, like he’s digging through dark mud to grasp at some slimy wriggling thing with sharp teeth, but it’s there. The echo of that fear. Richie’s voice, young and terrified and furious, screaming, welcome to the Loser’s Club, asshole!
“Yeah,” he says. His voice is rusty, creaking, strange. An old door hinge on an old house with something terrible underneath it.
His mind slams down on the thought nearly as soon as it surfaces, but the dread remains.
“Yeah,” Richie says. He straightens finally, wiping ineffectively at his face, and Eddie allows annoyance and instinct to override him for a moment.
“Stop that, Jesus, you’re just going to smear snot all over your hand,” he says, leaning down to root through the bag at his feet until he comes up with a packet of wet wipes, which he hands to Richie. Richie takes it, and gives him an extremely wobbly smile.
“I love you,” he says.
Eddie squeezes his eyes shut. “Yeah.” And then, “I don’t want to go back.”
“We don’t have to,” Richie says immediately. “Seriously. Say the word and I’ll turn around right now. We can be at the airport by three. We don’t owe this town shit.”
For some reason, even though he was just thinking exactly the same thing, that gives Eddie pause.
“Not the town,” he says, “but.”
“Them, yeah.” Richie sags back against his seat, then sets the wipes down to drag both hands through his hair. “Fuck.”
“I don’t want to go back,” Eddie says again, and this time he finishes it. “But we do have to, don’t we.”
He doesn’t phrase it as a question, but Richie nods anyway. His hands drop, flex in his lap. Eddie can see the scar on his palm—the familiar little white line that he’s run his fingers over so many times, marveling thoughtlessly at its similarity to the one on his own hand. And no fucking wonder. They both came from the same piece of broken glass. He reaches out to touch it, then brings Richie’s palm to his lips. Richie lets him do it, then cups his chin and draws him into a brief kiss that still tastes like salt.
“Okay,” he says when they break apart. “Okay.”
Eddie drops back into his seat and re-buckles his belt. Richie nods, and then turns the key, puts the car back in drive, and pulls out onto the road.

When The Day Is Dead
“Hey, Eds.” Richie greets with a grin, leaning on the lockers that are placed next to Eddie’s.
“”Hey,” Eddie says distractedly as he shoves books into his locker, swapping them out for others.
“Got any plans for tonight?” Richie asks, smile still upon his lips.
“Umm, I don’t think so.” Eddie hums in thought, closing his locker. “Why? Do you want to hang out tonight or something?” Eddie smiles as equally as wide as Richie.
“Yeah,” Richie nods. “Look, I know your mom doesn’t ‘believe’ in Halloween or whatever, but I wanted to invite you to the pumpkin patch. My parents and I are going and I really want you to come.”
Eddie’s insides nearly burst into flames. Going to a pumpkin patch with a boy he’s been in love with since he can remember? He’d be an idiot to pass this up.
“I’d love to,” Eddie nods, lips hurting from smiling so much. “But what will I tell my mom?” Eddie’s smile fades at the thought of her.
“Just tell her that you’re hanging out with all of us. Big movie night or somethin’.”
“Okay,” Eddie’s smile returns. Eddie whips out his phone and types a quick message to his mother, Sonia responding shortly after. She doesn’t seem to suspect a thing and that fills Eddie glee.
The bell rings, signaling that the last class is starting. The two decide to meet at Richie’s car after school. The last class felt like a drag to both of them. Both boys are eager to meet and head to the pumpkin patch.
When class ends, Eddie nearly books it to Richie’s car after, not wanting to waste any time. He makes it before Richie, testing to see if the car is unlocked - it is. He gives a soft, evil giggle and gets in the passenger side of the car. He props his feet on the dash and leans back into the seat with a pleased sigh. Only a few moments later, Richie arrives.
“Ready to go, Eds?” Richie asks as he starts the car.
“Aren’t your parents coming too?” Eddie asks, setting his feet on the floor, putting his seatbelt on.
“Well…” Richie sighs. “I kind of lied. They’re not coming, it’s just us.” Richie explains, keeping his eyes on the steering wheel while Eddie stays silent. Little does Richie know, Eddie’s heart is practically pounding out of his chest. “I hope that’s okay.” Richie says softly.
“Of course it’s okay,” Eddie can’t help but blush, knowing his cheeks are burning bright red. “I don’t mind. I think it’ll be fun.” he smiles widely, his eyes glowing.
“Okay,” Richie can’t help but giggle, butterflies swarming in his stomach.
The drive there wasn’t too terribly long, or maybe it was and the two were busy talking to even notice the distance. As they arrive, Eddie is taken away by all the pumpkins surrounding them.
“Woah,” he gasps, spinning in a slow circle to take everything in. “I haven’t seen so many pumpkins in my life!”
Richie laughs at Eddie’s reaction, wanting so badly to kiss him at this moment. It takes everything in him to refrain. Instead, he breathes out in a dreamy manner, looking at Eddie adoringly.
“What do you want to do first? Pumpkins? Corn maze? Hay ride?” Richie lists off. Eddie’s eyes go wide at all the options.
“Can we do the corn maze?” Eddie bounces on his heels.
“Haunted or regular?” Richie asks. Eddie nearly death glares at him as he already knows the answer.  “Regular it is!” Richie chuckles and starts to lead the way. God, does he wish he could hold Eddie’s hand right now. The temptation of it is nearly unbearable. The two enter the maze, finding their way pretty easily until Richie gets them all twisted about.
“Wait,” Richie says as he turns around slowly. “I think we go this way.” he points to the left. Eddie sighs.
“Richie, dumbass, we just came from that way.”
“No, we came from this way.” Richie motions confidently towards the right. Eddie rubs his temples as he takes another deep exhale.
“Just let me lead the way,” Eddie says as he walks ahead of Richie.
“You’re going to make us more lost!” Richie shouts as he catches up to Eddie.
“You were the one that got us lost!” Eddie turns around to face Richie, looking up at him. “We were doing fine and now-“ Eddie cuts himself off, shaking his head. “Fine. You lead the way.”
“Gladly,” Richie puffs out his chest, cheesy grin playing on his lips. “Follow me, Eds! I’ll get us out of here, easy peasy.”
“Okay,” Eddie gives a soft giggle as he now follows Richie knowing he’ll turn them in circles over and over. Eddie lets it happen until he can’t take it anymore.
“Okay, you’ve led us in the wrong direction every time, listen to what I say!” Eddie huffs, crossing his arms, Richie finding him completely adorable.
The two continue on, bickering and playfully bantering. Eventually, they exit the maze an hour later.
“We made it!” Richie cheers, fist pumping the air.
“Fucking finally,” Eddie groans, throwing his head back. “Can we pick pumpkins now?” he looks at Richie, a wide smile now painted on his lips.
“Yes,” Richie nods. Him and Eddie walk slowly towards that field of pumpkins, them laughing during conversation.
“Which one do I pick?” Eddie asks as his eyes scan all the pumpkins before him.
“Whichever you want. Short and fat, tall and skinny. Tall and fat or short and skinny. It’s all up to you, Eds.” Eddie looks around some more before spotting the perfect one.
“Oh! I want this one!”
“This one’s mine!”
They both speak simultaneously, grabbing for the same pumpkin, hands brushing against each other.
“Oh,” Eddie burns bright red. “You can have it.” he says sheepishly as he pulls his hand away.
“No,” Richie smiles, picking up the pumpkin and handing it to Eddie. “She’s all yours.”
“Really?” Eddie asks, grabbing the pumpkin, cheeks still flushed.
“Yeah, of course!” Richie says in a cheery tone. “You've never been before and I want you to have the best pumpkin.”
Eddie hugs the pumpkin close, following Richie around until he spots one that he likes. They go to the booth and pay, the two fighting over who pays and who doesn’t. Richie, before Eddie can get any money out, pays for both of the pumpkins.
“I hate you,” Eddie tries to say seriously, but fails.
“Oh, you love me, Eds.” Richie laughs, only half-joking. He hopes deep down Eddie loves him in the way he loves Eddie.
“I do,” Eddie mutters softly. It’s not a lie. He’s in love with Richie.
The night begins to fall and the two decide to walk back to the car and head home to Richie’s house. Eddie loves Richie’s house. His parents are so sweet and loving and caring. He could spend eternity there and never get tired. It’s his happy place; his safe haven.
“We’re homeeee!” Richie marches inside, holding his pumpkin in the air. Eddie follows after him.
“Hi, boys!” Maggie greets as she walks out from the kitchen. “How was it?”
“It was amazing,” Eddie chirps. “I had so much fun. We even did the corn maze!" he sets his pumpkin on the ground.
“And how was that?” she asks again, a warm smile on her lips.
“We…” Eddie tries to find the right words. “We eventually made it.” he gives a soft laugh.
“Well I’m glad you two had a good time. I set out all your pumpkin carving supplies outside if you want to carve them.”
Richie and Eddie make their way to the back door, turning on the porch light as he does so. They set their pumpkins on the back table, stab them with knives and take out the guts. Richie grabs some of the seeds and goo, raises it above his hand up, acting as if he’s going to throw it at Eddie.
“Don’t you fucking dare!” Eddie screeches.
“Oh, or what?” Richie asks playfully.
“I’ll knock your teeth to the back of your throat, bitch.” Eddie threatens. Richie can’t help but laugh.
“I’ll knock your teeth to the back of your throat, bitch.” Richie mocks.
“Get out of here,” Eddie nudges Richie with his shoulder. The two goof around, deciding to carve out silly faces. Wentworth comes out with two small candles and Maggie with two steaming mugs.
“Cider for you, and cider for you.” she says as she hands them the mugs.
“Let’s light these!” Richie says enthusiastically placing a candle in his pumpkin and burning it, Eddie copying his actions.
Maggie and Wentworth stay outside for a minute to enjoy the glow of the pumpkins and the company of the boys. It was only a few moments later that the parents go back inside. Richie and Eddie stand there in comfortable silence for some time until Richie breaks it.
“Eds?” Richie asks seriously.
“Hmm?” Eddie hums in question.
“I have to tell you something…” Richie pauses. “Something important.”
“You can tell me anything.” Eddie says sincerely, turning his head to look at Richie, only the glow of the candles in the pumpkins lighting up Richie’s face. Another long pause.
“I… I like you.” Richie finally says. “A lot and I have for a really long time.”
“You do?” Eddie asks, complete shock washing over him. Richie bites his lip and nods.
“Well…” Eddie says bashfully. “I like you too.” he bats his eyes.
There’s nothing more that can be said before they start kissing. Lips crashing against each other in a passionate kiss yet somewhat tender. The kiss lingers for quite some time, the two unable to get enough of each other.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that,” Richie says breathlessly.
“Me too,” Eddie admits. “Now do it again.”

“So, you know, I broke an engagement to be here.”
Eddie’s head snaps up and away from the dilapidated Derry sidewalk he’d been staring at to avoid tripping on a crack and losing a tooth in this godforsaken town.
When he looks up, though, Richie is staring straight forward next to him, hands shoved deep into his pockets and shoulders hunched up toward his ears. If it hadn’t been for the subtle red flush high up on his cheeks, Eddie would’ve assumed he had imagined hearing him speak.
But he knows Richie definitely said that out loud for a reason, so he nudges their elbows together and says, “Yeah, I know, it was all over Twitter. Comedian Rich Tozier Bombs Onstage, Cancels Remaining Shows in Vegas.”
“Can’t believe Eddie Kaspbrak is a Twitter fiend,” Richie smirks before dropping his own gaze to the sidewalk.
Suddenly he’s shaking his head, a sharp, jerky motion Eddie remembers from high school.
“Not that kind of engagement, Eds. A marriage one. A proposal. You know — I was engaged. Never got married, that part really was a joke. But I was engaged to this girl. For, like, seven years.”
“Jesus.” Eddie stares at him openly, but he can’t see anything in the face of this man — this stranger’s face on the soul of his best friend. “You always jumped headfirst into Step One of a plan, but never seemed to make it to Step Two. Isn’t that right? Is that what happened here?”
Richie’s mouth turns up on one side, the way he always seemed please whenever Eddie would rib him for something back in the day. But he shrugs one shoulder, too, like he’s taking the question seriously and yet coming up short of a clear response.
“Something always held me back from the actual marriage part,” he admits, kicking at an acorn in his path. “We’d start looking at venues, talk about DJs or live bands, but…something always stopped me before we could make any concrete plans.”
His stride lengthens, just for a second, damn those long legs of his, and Eddie has to scurry to catch up to him and hear what he says next:
“Just always felt like something was missing, until Mike called and the memories started coming back. That’s when I ended things with her for good.”
Eddie’s heart trips for a beat or two, and he tries to shove that strange reaction down and give this conversation with Richie his full attention — he can consider his traitorous body and its weird impulses later.
“Something in you must’ve remembered us, even subconsciously,” he muses, “and you knew it wouldn’t be right to have a wedding without the Losers there.”
He thinks he hears something like a chuckle from Richie, and he can’t imagine why, but sure enough, there’s a smile guarding Richie’s words when he half-turns his face toward Eddie to speak again.
“Think you’re right, Spaghetti. I just couldn’t go through with a wedding without you.”

AAAA okay so, im gonna kinda rant a bit ☠️
i've been in a reddie fanfic reading slump lately and i thought that "perhaps i should go to tumblr for fic recommendations!!!" so here i am, looking for reddie fic recommendations 😭
i will literally read anything that isn't completely smut-centered, as i prefer to not read smut but if it's mostly plot i will give it a try! (i have no specific criteria for these, when i say "i will literally read anything" i mean it!! you can recommend heart-wrenching prose, or your average crackfic-chatfic and i WILL read them)

Richie's plan was simple. Step 1: Find a man. Step 2: Convince that man to pretend to be his husband. Step 3: Prove to his high school bullies that he's not a complete failure. It should have been as easy as that... but things get a little more complicated when Richie finds out who exactly is going to be playing his husband for the night.
the secret reddie fic is finally done and posted- you can now read let’s fall in love for the night on ao3!
(and in case anyone has a good enough memory, this fic was actually inspired by this hc i posted quite a while ago! so many people asked for it to be written as a fic, so your wish is my command! sorry it took so long to finish!!)
i worked so hard on this fic and i’m very happy with the turnout, so i hope that you all love it as well!! happy reading everyone <3

Tonight, Eddie’s ready to relax, barefoot and hair curled over his forehead, crossing his legs on the floor and reaching for the first box the delivery guy delivered fifteen minutes ago on the dot, so it wasn’t too hot and wasn’t too cool. Tonight Richie’s hands are clenched hard and white and unforgiving around his fork where he’s picking at the food he’s ordered every single Thursday for three years and pretending not to stare. Tonight there are egg rolls cooling on the big, clunky wooden coffee table and some QVC show on wedding dresses Richie flipped to after Cool Runnings ended playing on the television when Eddie flinches his left arm and says: “Myra wants one of those things.”
Or: Eddie is getting married. Richie is in love with him. Hijinks (and angst) ensue.

Forget Everything (Words: 26,022) | Rating: E | Chapters 3/15)
Summary: Finally, Eddie said, “I’m sorry too. F or Brooklyn.”
Richie’s stomach swooped. He shook his head. “Look, I appreciate it but new rule. We don’t talk about Brooklyn. I think that’s for the best for everyone involved. There’s no reason to talk about a blip on the radar ten years ago.”
Or: The One where Richie and Eddie met disastrously once during the 27 years, promptly forgot, and remember it all once in Derry.

Lover, Lover
Eddie blinks his tired eyes open around three-thirty that morning. He glances over at the window sleepily - it’s still pitch black with the sparkle of littered stars. He turns his head to see that Richie is still sound asleep. He smiles to himself as he watches the boy's chest rise and fall at an even pace, able to hear his heartbeat due to the immense silence consuming the dark room. Two hours until sunrise.
Eddie slowly slides himself out of the bed in a sneaky manner, his feet patting down the hallway to the kitchen. He quietly grabs the kettle, filling it with water and heating it up. He knows Richie prefers tea over coffee in the mornings. He props himself up on the counter, waiting for the water to heat and giving Richie some extra sleeping time.
When the kettle starts softly screaming, Eddie places it off to the side and heads back to the room, going to wake his snoozing wannabe boyfriend. Richie isn’t much of a morning person, but he said he’d do this with Eddie.
Eddie enters the dark and soundless room, climbing back onto the bed.
“Rich,” Eddie speaks softly, tapping Richie’s shoulder gently. “Rich,” Eddie says again when there’s no movement from the other. “Richie,” Eddie shakes him slightly. Still nothing. “Richie!” nothing again. Eddie huffs, furrowing his brows as he stands up on the bed and starts jumping frantically. “Richie! Richie! Richie!” Eddie repeats with every jump.
“Whaaaaat?” Richie finally asks, voice deep and scratchy.
“Get up,” the smaller boy simply says. Richie rolls over on his other side, not completely awake. He grabs Richie by the arm, trying to pull him out of bed but isn’t successful. He then picks up a pillow, smacking it against Richie’s head. “You promised!”
“Okay, okay. I’m up.” Richie yawns as he sits up. Eddie bounces more on the bed, this time with glee and leaping into Richie’s arms.
“I made tea because I knew you’d be grumpy.” Eddie giggles sheepishly, so tempted to kiss Richie’s cheek. He knows Richie is going to tease him about this softness later. Eddie can’t help it. He loves his never-ending banter with Richie, but he’d do any and everything Richie asks. He’s weak in that way, and it’s hard not to show it.
“Why are we doing this again?” Richie grumbles as they make their way to the kitchen.
“Because it’s worth it, that’s why.” Eddie pouts.
“Is it really?” an unimpressed expression washes over Richie’s face.
“Yes!” Eddie stomps his foot. “And, again, you promised.” He turns his back to grab mugs and tea bags, adding sugar and milk to Richie’s.
“C’mon, we only have an hour now because of your lazy ass!”
Richie wants to protest, open his mouth and make a joke about how domestic Eddie is being. But he’s not going to lie, a part of him likes it. Eddie hands Richie his tea, Richie taking a sip of it and humming with a pleased smile.
They sit at the table in near silence, the ticking of the clock preventing it from so. Eddie swings his feet that don’t touch the ground in his chair. Half an hour goes by, a mix of soft chatter and quietness as they slowly sip their beverages.
“Okay,” Eddie claps. “Pillows. Blankets. Roof.” he orders.
“Yes, sir!” Richie salutes to Eddie.
“Don’t ever fucking do that again.” Eddie rolls his eyes somewhat playfully.
The two grab as many blankets and pillows their arms can handle and pile them onto the roof outside of Richie’s window. Once satisfied, they huddle under the blankets. It’s summer but the mornings could disagree.
Richie sighs as he lays back into the makeshift bed, closing his eyes.
“Wake me when-“ Richie can’t finish his sentence, falling asleep, making Eddie chuckle.
Eddie keeps his eyes on the stars that are slowly starting to dim as Richie sleeps next to him- so he thinks. He turns his head to look at him, their faces merely inches apart. His heart starting to race.
“I’m so in love with you,” Eddie whispers as softly as he can.
“I’m in love with you too,” Richie whispers back with his eyes still closed, startling Eddie a bit.
“I- you’re- didn’t know you were awake…” Eddie’s cheeks begin to burn. “Do you really…?” his voice cracks.
“I do,” Richie grins slightly. “I have for quite some time now, Eds. Surprised you never noticed it.”
“I was afraid of the feeling for so long,” Eddie can’t help but blush brighter, cheeks on fire. “I tried to shove it down, suppress it. But at some point, it was eating me alive, and it was all I could think about.”
“Is that a bad thing…?” Richie’s facial features droop slightly in worry.
“No!” Eddie raises his voice accidentally, causing Richie to flinch. “No… it’s not bad. It’s just all I could think about. I was so afraid you’d find out and then… not want to be friends with me anymore.”
“Well,” Richie feels a lump in his throat, gaining as much courage as he can muster. “I’d love to be more than friends…” he presses his lips together. There’s a pause of anxious silence.
“Really?” Eddie’s eyes widen.
“Yes,” the other laughs nervously.
“I’d love to. Love, love to!” Eddie leans forward, pressing his lips tenderly against Richie’s, pulling away after a few seconds.
“Y-you kissed me,” Richie’s eyes also widen before leaning in and kissing Eddie back. It breaks, the two’s eyes sinking deeply into each other. Eddie turns his head, gasping at the sight of the sky.
The sky is burning orange at the base as it melts into a soft pink, fading into a pastel purple. They watch it, the sunrise rising into the normal, lit, blue sky. Richie pulls Eddie into his arms, hugging him from behind.
“You’re right, this was definitely worth waking up for.” Richie admits, kissing the top of Eddie’s head.
“See! Told ya!” Eddie’s proud of himself.
Once the sun makes everything light, the two drag everything back inside, plopping onto Richie’s bed. Eddie stretches, yawning as he climbs under the covers.
“Can we get some sleep?” Eddie rubs his tired eyes.
“Oh fuck,” Richie exhales as he climbs into the bed as well. “Please.” he also yawns, pulling Eddie back into his arms as they quickly drift off to sleep.

Bev is the first one to say anything about it, one night as she and Ben are leaving Richie’s house:
“Did you notice how fucking cold his house was tonight?”
Ben chuckles, draping an arm around Bev and running his other hand over shoulder as if to warm her. “Richie always complains about being cold. That must be an Eddie thing.”
“Can you imagine the thermostat wars they probably have?” She snorts. “Oh, God. I know they’re best friends, but it can’t be easy having a roommate in your forties like this.”
It comes up again when Mike and Bill, Bev and Ben are video chatting with Stan ahead of his visit to Los Angeles.
“Don’t forget to pack a sweater,” Mike jokes, while Bill snorts a laugh into his shoulder.
Stan’s frown deepens as Bev solemnly nods in agreement. “What, is LA in a cold front I didn’t hear about, or something?” he asks.
“Richie keeps his house like a fucking refrigerator now that Eddie’s living there,” Bill explains, lifting his head off of Mike’s arm to arch an eyebrow at the camera.
“It’s like an ice skating rink!” Bev confirms. “My money is on this being one of the concessions Richie makes to stay alive. He lets Eddie pick the house temperature, and Eddie doesn’t murder him for not sorting the laundry by color.”
“It’s like college living, but with old people problems,” Mike jokes.
Ben shakes his head gently while the others laugh. “Stan, you’re the first one to get the inside view of what they’re like as roommates. None of us have ever stayed over at their place, so you gotta be the one to report back to us.”
“Yeah,” Bill adds, “like, how long do they fight in the morning about almond milk versus cream and sugar in their coffee?”
Stan smirks as the other Losers continue their howling laughter and speculation through the screens. “I’ll keep you folks updated,” he responds.
It turns out Richie does keep his house pretty cold, but he compensates by wearing a hoodie even though LA is blazing outside. Stan adores the two of them so much that he can’t be too bothered by the temperature; Richie and Eddie bicker and play-fight and joke so much that Stan feels like a kid again, and he just soaks up every second of their first day together. At the end of the night, his heart is full as they all say good night, Richie heading off to his bedroom, Eddie to the guest room he’d claimed as his own, and Stan to the final remaining guest room.
(If he’d spent all night catching the glimmer in Richie’s eye whenever he looked at Eddie, if he noticed how Richie wore the same expression around Eddie that he’d worn as a lovesick twelve year old, that was Stan’s business to keep to himself.)
The next morning, when Stan wakes up, he sees that the door to Eddie’s room is open, the bed neatly made and Eddie himself gone.
If Eddie and I are up, Trashmouth can get up now, too, he thinks to himself, listening for just a moment outside Richie’s door for any incriminating jerk-off noises before he quietly steps inside.
Immediately Stan freezes, everything clicking into place. Richie is bundled up in his hoodie under a thick comforter and luxurious-looking throw blanket. One arm grips the pillow, smushing it to his face, which is relaxed and vulnerable-looking. He snores softly, just quiet snuffling noises, burrowed into the blanket like a sleeping child.
Behind him, Eddie is dressed in an equally cozy-looking sweater, his face pressed to Richie’s back. He’s spooning Richie, holding onto him so tightly, one hand pressed to the center of Richie’s chest like he wants to keep watch over Richie’s heart for safekeeping.
Stan melts a little, wondering why they’re still keeping it a secret from their friends but also feeling an immense sense of peace wash over him, like finally, like this feels right, like you fucking deserve this, Trashmouth.
From the bed, Stan hears a sleep-scratchy “Don’t tell the others yet” from Eddie, whose arms squeeze Richie tighter as the movement of the blankets suggests he’s looping a leg over top of Richie’s.
Octopus, Stan thinks fondly, throwing a little salute toward Eddie though he knows he can’t see him with his eyes closed. He backs out of the room and shuts the door carefully, heading downstairs to fetch some coffee and start his day.

"i know it's sad, but i never gave a damn about the weather. and it never gave a damn about me."

high school (only for a little bit bc it’s 3 weeks before graduation, they’re both 18) , but mostly college au where eddie is mean and has literally one friend (mike), and richie is new and just thinks eddie is sooooo cute but eddie can’t stand richie bc he’s annoying
so eddie initially hates richie bc he’s irritating and won’t leave eddie alone but then he comes to find out that richie is actually really smart and that just turns eddie’s basic one sided enemy thing into a full on one sided academic rivalry, and they go to college and find out that they both picked the same college and all hell breaks loose 🧍
it’s gonna be so fun !

Communication Error Has Occurred.
Alright, maybe Richie did hate his job. But, to be fair, it wasn’t like his job treated him very well either. From the way he was more often than not loaded with more work than he could possibly get done in a single day, to how he was expected to spend more than his contractual hours in the office slaving away at his desk without any extra pay, to how his boss was always breathing down his neck and always seemed to have something to say about Richie’s clothes or his attitude or his work performance, even when Richie was trying his best. The salary wasn’t anything special either- it was fine, but nothing close to what Richie thought he deserved for putting up with everything that was thrown at him. So maybe Richie did hate his job… but, there were some things that made staying worth it. And one of those things was Eddie Kaspbrak. _____________ Richie Tozier has a secret crush on his coworker, Eddie Kaspbrak. And while he prides himself in having kept those feelings to himself for so long, on one drunken night... well, it becomes not quite a secret anymore.
