I finished this is a bit later than I had hoped, but here's a redraw of my Barranjanath armor set from MH. I feel like I've grown a lot this year, and this might be a new tradition for me.
Here's my first monster hunter drawing from the beginning of last year. Kinda cool to see how much I've learned since then.
2023 was the first time I've done commissions, and to those who've supported me, thank you. It means a lot. My new year's resolution is to make more art and comics without fear, reservations, or expectations

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to mix things up and try new things with my bindings this year. I’ve been intrigued with dos-a-dos bindings since I started making books, but I only recently felt like I had enough knowledge and experience to try it out. As soon as I finished reading The July Tree and Eager for the Sky, I knew that these two incredible works were perfect for this type of binding. Dos-a-dos means back-to-back, and I read these stories for the first time back-to-back in the span of a couple of days. They were two of my favorite reads from last year, and they complement each other brilliantly. And I was thrilled to get to make something for E, and even more thrilled to learn that this week was their fandom anniversary so the timing of this binding ended up being really special!
As always, a massive thank you to the incredible artists who were kind enough to let me include their amazing art in this binding! And the biggest shout-out to the lovely Boo who helped me out with some art for the endpapers as a quick fix-it for when I discovered that the glue had bled through and discolored them near the hinges. The art on the endpapers ended up being one of my favorite parts of the binding, and it’s always really special to get to make things together with her.
I’ll make a separate post with some WIP pics--this binding was a challenge (though in different ways than I had first imagined) but I am so proud of the final result and very happy to have tried something new. Happy fandom anniversary, E! Thanks for sharing your words with the world!

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: yn.
find my very own tuxedo mask (NOT DOYOUNG!!!!). it's the same resolution you've had since you were a kid and old enough to know the implications of making said resolution. and yet, every year you seem to have to make it again...much to your chagrin. of course there has been those occasional off years where you thought you finally succeeded at long last. but the success never lasted long. or at least, not long enough for the resolution to be considered completed by any means. but this year you're determined! charging forward with newfound resilience. and look on the bright side! you've already eliminated one candidate. hence the disclaimer: not doyoung. there's plenty of other fish in the sea, right?
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: doyoung.
get new friends. that's not his actual resolution even if he swears up and down that he means it. the words are always spoken with too much underlying affection to ever take him serious about it. if a perfect stranger had proposed the question, then he would simply answer that he will strive to hold his position at the top of the class. it's a bit bland, a bit predictable, and very much doyoung. though it would be important to note that he does hope that his friends resolved to get a grip.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: taeil.
get accepted to graduate research. ask anyone who surrounds him and they would tell you that moon taeil doesn't need resolutions. primarily because he can do anything he sets out to do and has a track record of doing just that. because taeil is unstoppable when he puts his mind to something and you have no doubt in your mind that this will be easily conquered by him as well. you only wish that you were as fortunate in your own proceedings.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: johnny.
get yn to stop falling in love with every guy she sees. certainly, a daunting task. one that johnny undertakes with a shrug of his shoulders and a teasing comment about how this is for your own good. which... you suppose it would be. it would have saved you from the doyoung situation at least. johnny's considering making you wear horse blinders when you go out, save you from the plight of another fleeting affection.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: taeyong.
win three of four competitions and get doyoung to be nicer to people. unlike the famous saying, the first is as easy as it is said. in terms of the arts (and especially dance) NCIT remains undefeated, mainly due to the effort and skill of one lee taeyong. the second resolution however.... well, much easier said than done. perhaps even impossible? hopefully taeyong will have as much success as he does in dance.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: yuta.
mark. that's it. really! were you expecting something else? it's easy to say that resolutions isn't something that yuta takes seriously. or at least... not seriously in front of his friends. you could say that but... you have a sinking suspicion that he is quite serious about this one.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: jaehyun.
afford a cat. another step in the grand effort of taking in that stray cat. a stray cat whom he has affectionately named jamal, after... well, after himself. he really is quite determined, even if his apartment building doesn't allow pets. because nothing can come between him and jamal. not even doyoung who cusses him out from his balcony, reprimanding him for lingering around the apartment building like a stalker. the things he does for a cat...
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: jungwoo.
BECOME SUPER FAMOUS AND POPULAR AND RICH. there isn't much of an elaboration needed on this one. jungwoo can never really choose one resolution every year, tending to combine them in some grand frankenstein resolution. and no one's one hundred percent positive that he knows what a resolution is. the way he talks about it is the equivalent of wishing on a star. no one has the heart to break it to him.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: mark.
bring the team to nationals. NCIT basketball has never lost a nationals tournament to date with mark as captain, a streak he intends to keep up. the team has been his resolution since he joined and he's not quite sure that that will change until he graduates. if he had to set something else in stone for this year, it would be that he wants to score the last point just as the buzzer sounds. man, that would be so cool.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: haechan.
reach immortal two ranking in valorant. haechan is a gamer first, human second. a fact that you're unfortunately accustomed too. so it only makes sense that his resolution is adjacent to his standing as a streamer. though if you pried for long enough, you would find that he has a secret, underlying resolution which is to annoy mark more than usual--not very exciting nor very new.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: shun.
get better at cooking. the simple fact of the matter is that shun cannot cook. the boy cannot even make toast without something going horribly wrong. a fact which he undertakes with a glower and adamant protests. you think he'd be better at cooking since he lives alone in his own apartment. he isn't and this year he might starve if he doesn't improve. you both live in the same building so you hope he pursues this effort without setting off the fire alarms.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: soo ah.
get doyoung and yn together! despite the nature of the resolution, soo ah wrote it large and clear on her resolution slip, waving it in front of shun's face with a grin. she believes that there is defineitly something more than partners going on between the two of you and she's resolved to get to the bottom of it. and get you too together in the process. i mean, have you seen the way he looks at you? (shun has and says he doesn't see anything out of the usual, what a party pooper).
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION FROM: min.
get accepted to NCIT. min has high aspirations and lofty goals, including being admitted to the prestigious, golden aged: NCIT. this is something that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that her favorite vloggers attend that university. nor does that fact that she chose the same major as you. though, meeting the taeilenators would certainly be a plus.

A different kind of WIP Wednesday
Not a fic this time, but after a wonderful post about making bad art from @unspuncreature and a little encouragement from @lilredghost (thank you 🧡), I wanted to share something else I have in progress: my drawing abilities.
I wouldn't necessarily say I'm good. In fact, sometimes my drawings are downright bad. But considering there have been times in the last year where I haven't even been able to hold a pencil due to health issues, I'm happy to be where I am and just keep improving little by little each time.
I've never shared any of these with anyone before so I'm quite nervous, but there's no time like the present.

So, for starters, I've been drawing sporadically since I was about 11 (about 18 years). I've never seriously made a habit out of it, and I've never attempted any formal instruction or classes. One day, I'll post images from my sketchbooks from over the years, because yes, I have kept all of them for posterity's sake
Last year, 2023, I made a New Years Resolution to draw something every day.
I actually made a decent go of it and drew more than I have in years.
But then I suddenly had some health problems pop up that made my goal impossible. I struggled to hold a pencil and even write a sentence legibly. I won't go into details here, but after a few months and going through occupational therapy, I was able to write and draw again(My other symptoms, however, haven't been resolved).
I did some drawing here and there, but nothing consistent. And it felt like some of the progress I made earlier in the year had vanished. I was utterly demotivated, and could only see the bad in everything I drew.
In December, I finally decided: screw it. If I'm going to draw badly, I'll just draw badly. And its done wonders for my confidence.
But for every drawing I'm proud of, there are far more that all I can do is laugh at because of how terrible they are.
And each time I draw something I'm not happy with, I take it as an excuse to practice more, practice often, and practice everything.
I don't really have a system or a plan in place. I start out with a warmup of stick figures based on soccer, figure skating, or something similar, and then it's whatever I feel like. Sometimes it's figure sketches, sometimes it's working on hair, sometimes it's just whatever the hell I feel like.
But above all, I'm having fun doing it. Even when it doesn't turn out like I want to, even when it's not perfect, I enjoy just putting pencil to paper with zero expectations beyond doing my best and enjoying the process.

Hi Spade;
I have been reviewing the 🎃 thread along with some other ideas, and here are my thoughts
-If we believe her Midnights album was her metaphorical transitioning from the closet/the idea of two personas of her (her public performance art and actual private life), starting with Lavender Haze speaks volumes. The album was still released when she and Joe were together and she was very private. She also hasn't finished acquiring her Master's back yet, which I believe is what she wants before considering fully coming out based on the Spades timeline and Lover release. Anyway....
I don't recall any songs previously talking about daughters or sons in law. She specifically references a daughter in law in Anti-Hero. This makes me think she is referencing a future daughter in law to a son that already exists (Karlie). Karlie also showed up to her last LA show, clearly intending to be seen in the general audience...what. weeks postpartum???? To someone she hasn't talked to in ages? Also.... Taylor was NOTABLY private during this time..to hide suspicion of her new family??? The rubies that 🎃 gave up?? Being recognized as a mother, being able to be public about her child? Very speculative but fascinating. It seems as though she did something drastic to protect them. "🎃's not a hero, but..." we all know Taylor as the type of person to fiercely protect those she loves. She describes herself as self conscious and terrified of her own shadow in AH, as 🎃 does in the Selfish Asshole narrative. But not when it comes to protecting the people she cares about. Her lover was ready to make the sacrifice, but 🎃 refused to let her as she had already been through enough (toxic relationship with Kushner?)
Connect this with the imagery of a safe home, literal buns in the oven from the 🎃 post-- (all shortly posted after Karlie's second pregnancy announcement); with the story of the person who essentially quit their job too soon (Joe) and threatening to out her (also possibly Joe). I've gotten the vibe ever since the relationship ended, before even discovering all of the 🎃 today that perhaps it was toxic and made her retreat into herself because she has been glowing post ending-of-Joe. If so, then spidey senses aligned. Perhaps it was toxic for them both to be in the situation, I don't know. Joe clearly never really spoke about her or referenced her in any of his public appearances. Maybe someone caught on.
It also makes the onset of Travis make more sense, especially because it started with him seeking her out and friendship bracelets ETC (seems like a savvy PR strategy..). Matty was damage control and it showed; but her relationship with Ice Spice has flourished and that is awesome.
I also come back to 🎃's comments in #4 and #5; with Travis (also similar behavior to 1989 TV, read some awesome theories on her using this as a similar time frame to prove a point about the media being ready to do it all over again). That we should roll these new ideas around in our head (Travis, 1989TV Prologue) but hang on to what feels right while the rest of her plan plays out and she is safe. My assumption is the full acquisition of her masters; my further assumption is that Scooter (the enemy, though could also have dual representation with Josh maybe?) has been threatening her with blackmail this entire time. Additionally, these later messages are timed around Halloween, the same time of her 1989 TV release (if you count Halloweekend).
It seems the end is for 🎃 to fully embrace herself; again, perhaps at the release of her last TV album - and end the dual version of herself, although this seems confusing for her. I imagine the pain 🎃 experiences with the doorknob is the fear people calling her a hypocrite all these years; to her losing a theoretical amount fans (would be catastrophic for her as we know in Miss Americana). But it sounds like the end reasoning is visibility is resolution.

Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Box Set - 1993
Whilst I toil away at mapmaking, I did reward myself with a bit of treasure! In my deep plunges into the interwebs, I did in fact stumble across a wonderful artifact indeed. (But do forgive me for the photo quality, I was too excited for touch-ups!)
From thirty years ago, the “New Edition” of the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting! What a find! Though the box itself has a few dings and dents (a sign of much love, I’m sure), the treasures inside this chest were in far better condition.
Near mint, if I do say so myself! We see here our good friend Elminster here in some of my favorite art of him, but a Drizzt Do’Urden can also be spotted on the Grand Tour of the Realms, among other familiar faces.
I have not yet read through all of these, but soon I will be able to dispense what knowledge I find!
In addition to these fine books, the set came with a number of loose papers and maps, of which I had never seen before in digital or physical form.
Four in total! Two of eastern Faerun, and two of western. Once I am able to do so safely, I will be creating high resolution scans of these maps to share on this very blog, so do keep your eyes out!
But even more ingenious, included in the box was not one, but two of these! The transparent overlay seen here is made to show scale, and to be moved across the maps. As they all are drawn to the same scale, the overlays can be used between any of them, and having two copies of the overlay means more than one can be placed at a time, or, in case one is lost, there is a backup. These will provide themselves invaluable in reconstructing maps of the realms.
It also makes me wonder why we do not see these more often in more modern reproductions of these maps. I have not seen such overlays in any other piece of media for the Realms or any other setting, but they seem so useful, as well as inexpensive to produce! Perhaps this can be traced to the phasing out of overhead projectors and other such common technology of the 80s and 90s that saw the use of transparencies such as these. Wet erase markers faded out of use, and purchasing transparency films has become more difficult over time. Still, I hope that tools such as this can make a return. If nothing else, it sure beats getting out strings to try to measure the distances!
Following the maps, we find these sheets of symbols. My first thought was, are these sticker sheets? But thankfully, no! No aged glues or sticky pages greeted me (for surely stickers would not age well over three decades). These are actually cards, meant to be cut out and referenced. I am infinitely grateful that the previous owners of this box did not do so, since being in one piece has kept these from being lost or damaged, in the way small pieces often are.
The first three pages include runes and symbols. Some are for factions, such as the recognizable harp of the Harpers on the first page. Some are magical, namely the runes in green, and others are simply to convey a message.
The last two pages are the symbols of various gods and powers in the Realms, though some of the page is still dedicated to runes. Again, I will be creating scans, both front and back, to share.
And yes, the backs of all of them contain some information about the image on the front. I cannot wait to make copies so that I feel confident in cutting out and using the cards, while still keeping the originals in good condition.
The final portion of this treasure chest of information is a bestiary. The pages are unbound, but punched to fit into a ringed binder. I adore all the art. Like before, I will create scans, and perhaps write on more specific aspects of the creatures therein.

Start your year with DCLA!
Is there a better way to start your year? From January 1st-January 31st, one prompt each day, will be focused on DCLA. While some will be focused on new years or january themes, some days will just be more generic.
These prompts can be used for writing, but also for art, or whatever you wanna do!
Now, here are the prompts. I struggled so much with making a good poster, and my first version was really ugly with just a white background and black text. And I figured, no, I need to fix this. So, I made something more decent looking.
I figured the importance is the prompts, not the style of the poster :) But I still wanted SOMETHING nice.
Day 1: Waking up after New Years Eve. What happened last night at New Years Eve? Did they have a wild party? Was there drama or was it a wonderful night? What’s happening now? How do the characters spend their first day of the new year?
Day 2: Summer vacation from On Beat Studio. We follow the Violetta characters for about half a year every season. But what are they doing in january, on their summer vacation? Let’s find out!
Day 3: Summer vacation from Blake South College. We follow the Soy Luna characters through their school year. But what are they doing on their summer vacation in january? Let’s find out!
Day 4: Summer vacation from school. This is the Bia day, and sadly it just says ”school” as we don’t know their school’s name (since we never see them there). Still, are the characters doing something fun on their summer vacation in january? Let’s find out!
Day 5: A January in the past. When the characters were younger, they had some things happen in january. What? That’s up to you to decide!
Day 6: New Years resolutions - do they keep them? Well, pretty self explanatory. What new years resolutions do the characters have, and have they managed to keep them this far?
Day 7: Bia canon couple on a date
Day 8: Violetta canon couple on a date
Day 9: Soy Luna canon couple on a date
Day 10: On vacation in the northern hemisphere. It’s summer time in the southern hemisphere, but what if they decided to visit the northern hemisphere, where it’s currently snowy and cold (well, I guess unless you go to vacation in California or something). How is it?
Day 11: Someone’s January birthday. SOMEONE must have a birthday in january and you can decide who.
Day 12: Soy Luna non-canon couple on a date
Day 13: Bia non-canon couple on a date
Day 14: Violetta non-canon couple on a date
Day 15: How has the new year been so far? More or less half of january has passed. How are they doing? This day is kind of generic and can help to maybe write a follow-up to a previous day you wanted to write a sequel to.
Day 16: A January in the future. How far in the future is up to you. Are we dealing with the teens now being adults, and being parents? Or even further into the future, are they grandparents?
Day 17: Soy Luna friendship hangout. Just a day where a couple of friends, anything from only being two of them to a whole big group, go and hang out together.
Day 18: Violetta friendship hangout. The same explanation as the one above
Day 19: Bia friendship hangout. The same explanation as the one above.
Day 20: A January deep talk. Some people have a talk that just gets very deep and real. Some angst might be involved, or it might just be a deep talk about something silly.
Day 21: An evening of singing and dancing. If there is anything the DCLA characters love, it’s singing and dancing! How does it go when they meet up in the evening to sing and dance?
Day 22: Summer job. You know, it’s likely someone has a summer job. What do they work with?
Day 23: Violetta family hangout. Any family in Violetta hanging out for the day. Could be any family from the show, and could also be a family hanging out in the past, maybe little Violetta with her parents and aunt, or a family constellation in the future. Maybe your favorite character’s family with their future kids. Or just a family hangout in the present time. Up to you.
Day 24: Bia family hangout. Any family in Bia hanging out for the day. Could be any family from the show, and could also be a family hanging out in the past, maybe little Bia with her parents and sister, or a family constellation in the future. Maybe your favorite character’s family with their future kids. Or just a family hangout in the present time. Up to you.
Day 25: Soy Luna family hangout. Any family in Soy Luna hanging out for the day. Could be any family from the show, and could also be a family hanging out in the past, maybe Luna back when she was Sol with her parents, or Ámbar as a kid (or why not an AU where her and Luna grew up together? 😉) or a family constellation in the future. Maybe your favorite character’s family with their future kids. Or just a family hangout in the present time. Up to you.
Day 26: D+LA day. Any D+LA show and something the characters are up to in january.
Day 27: Alternate universe in January. Go wild! Do any kind of AU of your choice. Does everyone have magical powers? Does it take place in another time period? Is it similar to the original universe but there are some key differences?
Day 28: A January dinner party. Someone is having a dinner party. How does it go? Do they have it inside or outside? Who are invited? Is there drama involved?
Day 29: A day at the beach. They go to the beach and they have some fun there!
Day 30: Summer fling. Is there a pairing you'd like to explore, but you don't see them as fully dating or last very long? Well, maybe they had a summer fling!
Day 31: Planning the rest of the year. What's the plans for the rest of the year for these characters? I wonder if their plans will hold.

happy new year! ; my farewell letter to 2023.
last year, ive written a similar farewell letter to 2022 and i want to make this a little tradition - so here's my second one <3
okay, so - wow. first of all, just wow.
this might be incredibly bold to say, but i think this has been my best year to be alive (i promise you i do not want to sound corny about it, but i really think 2023 was amazing for me.) of course, many things happened. im at my last year of senior high before i go to college, which is very scary but i hope i can be brave for it. school has been actually very generous to me recently, despite a few minor setbacks that looked very major when i was going through it, but overall it was very generous to me. but irl rambling is boring, so let's talk about my selfshipping blog!
last year, i had a verrrry firm grip on a previous f/o that im 100% sure old followers know - though im a little sad I can't find that spark to focus on him again - the shift in media has helped me find new f/os that i can say has been incredibly memorable to me. as we all know, im in a very INSANE pokemon brainrot since november or october(?) of 2022 and it has still remained heavily active in my head right now - which i honestly didn't even know i had the full capacity of doing! I don't know what magic this game did to me but i promise you im so happy i revisited this game again.
i would talk about how grateful i am to everyone has been supportive and sweet about my romantic f/os but i think the best highlight of my blog is my newfound love for my familial f/os - before that, i never had a single one on my list because i was simply quite disconnected to the family love concept, but after indulging myself in pokemon - i would come to discover pokemon adve.ntures, or poke.spe for short hehe. i have so many fond memories of finding myself wanting to read more and MORE - i would have every chapter downloaded beforehand just so that i can read it in my spare time, not even school that demanded my attention would stop me from sneaking my phone to quickly read through the manga LMAOO - but consuming the media itself wasn't enough, i needed people to understand the ROLLERCOASTER of emotions i had while reading and well, i think its very clear who those people were, the ones who came to save my miserable ass from (insert shocking scene in poke.spe) AHSJHSHSJSJS you know who you are and i appreciate you forever and they - i kid you not, helped me create something wonderful!
but of course, the video games were just as amazing. would you believe me if i told you i played gens 1 to 7 in one year? that's how much i adore the game and i still have yet to catch up to other games like the spin offs :] im not sure how to end this statement but. im so happy appleshipping and memoryshipping exists 🥹 i usually don't like thinking that they'll be with me forever because i believe nothing lasts for eternity but i just wanna say that they were just ... im just so contented 🥹 again, all of this actually would not have been so impactful to me if it weren't for my awesome mutuals hearing me out about it and supplying me with even more ideas - these mutuals would also end up becoming such loving friends of mine that helped me get out of my comfort zone and im still happy they're around (hi guys!) 💚
oh! and, what a surprise, i never thought id have an oc f/o! i initially thought that this was so impossible to do but?!??;?! it just happened i guess!!!! i keep surprising myself this year 😭

literally the best thing i ever done with my art is try using csp and it actually really helped me change the way i draw, and i even managed to cross out a few items in my last year's resolution thanks to it! i still bounce between using ibispaint and csp but i certainly improved!
the last thing im forever grateful about are the people who has been consistently supportive of my art - especially the commissions, i can't stress it enough how much it has helped me outside and it allowed me to go beyond my comfort zone when it comes to my drawing skills :']] thank you all so much

Retrospective 2024 (4)
Last one!
As teased in the infographic, My resolution this year stays unchanged from last year's:
Get things off my desk and shelf it for good.
I want to continue completing and fixing older projects, so I can shelf it for good (like I did Goncharov Escapes! this year, and DOL-OS). But, since I added a bunch of title on my itch page, there are a few more to the pile compared to last year that needs fixing (or finishing) - at least DOL-OS is done :D
The goal: Harcourt (MelS want to finish it, but it's still him dependent), The Roads not Taken (I dropped the ball on that one at the end of last year), An Eggcellent Preparation (samesies), and Exquisite Cadaver or P-Rix - Space Trucker.
I won't even try to promise I won't make new games (large or tiny), because last year made it obvious there is no stopping me. I planned last year to participate in a few comps... and ended up doing two dozens. So...
At least, I won't participate in the big comps (IFComp/SpringThing) because the ideas I have for them need at least another year to make it happen... I do want to try to make it to one parser-focused comp again (either TALJ or ParserComp) and try out Moiki or DonjonFI.
I'm only 7-9 games away to have 1 title/year alive...
Below the cut has more detailed expectations for some titles. Like last year, no real timeline on what will be done when - this year has shown me that life likes to throw stones at schedules...
Announcements will also be whenever, because I make things on a whim :P I will try to have a better announcement schedule for updates however.
Oh! one more resolution: continue to do word crimes ~ obviously!
The trials and Tribulations of Edward Harcourt
While I've been working on the final edits of Chapter 5, MelS promised to be hard at work on Chapter 6 this following semester, which is the final chapter. From mid-January onward, he should have a clearer schedule IRL to set himself some time to write.
We hope to be done with the edits and coding of Ch6 this year.
When Ch6 is cleared, we will do one final sweep at the earlier chapters to ensure the writing style is consistent, rebalance variables and puzzles, as well as making it compatible with as many screens as possible (especially for maps).
Solutions for puzzles (mazes and such) will get a special log on itch too.
La Petite Mort
The game is "technically" complete already, but I spotted a few typos here and there that could be taken out, one theme is eh... really not as pretty as I had wanted it (the "PJ theme"), and I've been wondering if I could add a few more rooms or interactions (with the animals especially).
I'm aiming for a March-April update.
Though it should have been done last November already...
The Roads not Taken
I've mentioned my plan for this project the past few months (before I got distracted with other projects), which is to fix the parser mechanic (to follow a bit more the conventions and fix the frictions of the game), include the missing content from the SpringThing version (Codex and Endings), and potentially have a hypertext version (links to click) for accessibility.
I would like to be done with this before summer at the latest - by March at the earliest.
Entre-d'oeufs coquilles - An Eggscellent Preparation
A bug or two needs fixing in this game (the AEP version) - how the box is used/eggs are handled -> for the ending - as well as a bunch of typos (a small re-write may be needed).
As AEP is the most recent version, with more content, I will need to translate the updated/fixed version back to French (EdOC).
I would also like to include more pixel art for each "room". I do not know yet I would manage that, but we will see!
I think there isn't much to fix that an update before the summer could be doable.
Exquisite Cadaver
That ball-n-chain project that's been dragged around for the past year, poor game... At least, I've given up on a French version.
The same amount of rounds is missing from the playable version (21), with no real progress made last year. All rounds are at least drafted in some fashion, though not all the endings are.
A sane planning for this would be to do an update every 3-4 rounds until the game is complete. I will try to achieve this.
If I could reach the half-way mark by the summer and complete the game by the end of the year, this would be great!
P-Rix - Space Trucker
This game can't stay in this current state!
I have a rough draft of the mechanic and enough bits of writing to make a coherent update with some touch-up. I know how to end the game (the "good" ending), with even an option for further "storylines" after that first delivery is complete. I even have the "stops" on planets or ships all clear in my head (RNG babyyy).
I will probably focus on this project in the second half of 2024.
Crimson Rose & White Lily
With the hiatus getting closer to a two-year one... an update is long overdue. I may break an update in multiple ones:
fixing the main story code
adding Scene 5 (needs to be written properly)
adding Scene 2 variation
fixing the Codex
including Bonus content (may be a separate "game")
I would like to have the first point done in the first half of the year, and the second... well in the second half. If the Muse is in my corner it might happen sooner, but she hasn't been here all last year, so who knows at this point...
I miss writing Razac y'all...
SugarCube Templates
Even if I've done all the "coding" templates I had wanted to do for a while, I have a handful more visual templates in my drafts (different shapes!).
Having tried all "main" Twine formats, I've been itching at making templates for Harlowe and Chapbook. Either doing a Harlowe/Chapbook version of the template already done, or just making completely new one.
Expect some to be added to itch (when I get bored/frustrated with my projects).
Other projects
If there is time/energy left in me, I would like to take a crack at:
Finishing The Dinner, with all the remaining courses and the planned final choice. Also styling it in Harlowe properly.
Finishing the OG planned story for In the Blink of an Eye, which was supposed to last "a week" in the story (instead of 2 days) and have more consequences/endings.
Finishing The Rye in the Dark City, which is missing 2 acts: the interrogation of the different peeps and the "closing" the case. A bit of re-write in the first act might be needed.
Finishing Don't Press the Button (not really IF). I want to make it work in both keyboard and mouse... If I can manage it, then it's just a matter of moving the element around the page, changing colour, and randomise whether to click or not. JavaScript/jQuery is required however ;-;
Fixing The Thick Table Tavern: first the bar (group bottles, add new ones + new recipes), then the Arcade Mode (there's a bug I've been meaning to fix for one mode + add difficulty), then the Story Mode (essentially do a re-haul + add more storylets + the main client(s) of the run).
Remastering SPS Iron Hammer - a.k.a. re-writing it, adding the whole escape mechanic, re-coding the whole thing...
I don't think I would be able to do ALL of this - with the amount of time/effort some of these projects would required, it would probably be impossible by myself. And I should probably focus on CRWL instead if I have time/effort left 😂
Other... other
I'm going to continue organising small comps and jams this year, both with @seedcomp-if (which will run all year now - 8 months of Planting, 3 months of Sprouting, 1 month of voting), and @neointeractives (8-10 jams/year).
I will probably participate in a handful of the jams I've either organised, or small program-focused jams (like with ink/bitsy), but avoid the "big" ones this year (even if the SpringThing was fun!). There are also a handful of other jams I've had my eyes on, so we will see if I can manage...
Expect more short silliness on this side.
A thing I will continue doing will be playing IF games still. I have 15 games left in the IFComp (with one being an absolute beast) and want to take a crack at old comp entries (IFComp, SpringThing, and the others), especially the French ones. Reviewing takes a while, but it's a good practice to think about the positives and negative of games - and take these lessons for my own projects.

That's more than enough to keep me entertained for this year.
... which may potentially be the last one in a while where I will have any free time. I am certain of one thing for next year (2025): there will be a lot of change happening IRL, which will for sure mean less time to do any fun thing (not just making IF). Probably long periods of time where I will be completely offline too.
This year might be the last where I have a consistent presence online. I really want to make the most of it!

New Years Resolutions
Make character introduction posts. I’ve been here since February and still haven’t formally introduced any of my characters.
Start leaving messages in the tags of all the beautiful art I reblog. This is going to be difficult because I don’t usually have translatable feeling about art so expect a lot of “augh so pretty” and “woah”s lmao. This will not be applying to already queued posts because there’s over 100, sorry.
Finish owed WIPs. There’s a big one that this is specifically about that has never left my mind but there’s also a few art party things that I never finished.
Do more GW2 art. Specifically of my own characters but I also want to get back into the art parties which I dropped out of the last half of the year due to art block.
Actually start getting character thoughts out of the abyss of my head and out into the world. I’d like to do more of those character ask games. I had some fun with them this year but I have a few still sitting around in my askbox lol.
Get around to making a character voice claim video. I’d settled on a few voices when everyone was doing those but video editing is the bane of my existence.
I only joined the GW2 tumblr community this year but I’ve loved being a part of it and seeing everyone’s beautiful art, amazing characters, and thoughts on lore and the game itself. It’s good to be a part of the community instead of just enjoying the game on my own.
I’ve finally dipped my toes into endgame group content with a wonderful group of people and I’d love to get to know you all more in the coming years.
I’m not really one to initiate conversation on my own, just know that if you ever want to chat about anything, I don’t bite!

Since rainbow high is getting extremely worrisome w the new line I’ve coped by making my own wave 6 (drumroll please):
Scarlet, Pumpkin, Mustard, Moss, Cornflower, Royal Purple!
Tbh I was just listing off colors I wished we had gotten in a gc and then realized a) they made a rainbow and b) they were all autumnal themed so I made an inadvertent autumnal wave! All with two outfits bc I’m allowed to dream. I want to make them eventually too bc hello my New Year’s resolution is to make more customs than last year.
Scarlett Connell (scarlet red/orange): a multimedia artist with a passion for eco-friendly graffiti, Scarlett Connell hails from the Pacific Northwest. Growing up on the Oregon coast, Scarlett fell in love with thrifting materials from old logging camps and cargo railroads. Her main outfit is a scarlet beanie, a scarlet plaid scarf, a white tank top, a pair of patchwork scarlet overalls, and graffitied scarlet doc martens. Her second outfit is a scarlet oversized flannel, faded rainbow dream t shirt, torn/cuffed scarlet jeans, and short scarlet rain boots. She keeps her makeup subtle save for a bold detail (scarlet tinged lip, blush, natural brows, graphic scarlet eyeliner) and her scarlet hair straight and chin length. Y’all…she’s the red/orange butch doll we’ve all been waiting for.
Paloma Gordon (pumpkin orange): a sweet-as-can-be baking and pastry major from Salem, Massachusetts. Growing up in such an autumnal region made Paloma fall in love with both the flavors and fashions of the season. Her primary outfit is a pair of cropped ankle pumpkin pants, pumpkin crocs, a white chef coat w pumpkin buttons, and a pumpkin orange neckerchief. Her second outfit is a pair of pumpkin plaid woolen pants, a white cable knit sweater w pumpkin detailing, and pumpkin suede booties. Her makeup is soft and warm yet very, very precise: much like her approach in the kitchen, and she keeps her hair in long curly pumpkin orange ringlets, tied back in a high ponytail. I always wished rh would do a baking major since culinary arts are some of the most impressive art forms in the world (we almost got there w poppy).
Amelie “Frenchie” du Mous (mustard yellow): always on point, Frenchie hones all of her high fashion skills from growing up in Paris into a neatly tailored fashion focus. Her primary outfit is a plaid mustard pinafore over a lace trimmed white blouse with bell sleeves, mustard yellow knee high socks, brown heeled oxfords with mustard laces, and a mustard beret trimmed in white lace. Her second outfit is a pair of knee length mustard plaid shorts w matching suspenders, platform mustard leather loafers, mustard mid calf socks, and a white puffed short sleeved blouse with a mustard plaid bow tie. Her hair is straight and long in two tails. We never got a dark academia girl so here she is to fall in love w scarlet
Ivy Pines (moss green): emerging from the woods for the first time in her life, Ivy is ready to bring her foraging gift to Rainbow High! Her art has always been from the forest around her and her family in Northern California, whether she’s crafting her own dyes or whittling intricate jewelry. Her first outfit is an ombré dip-dyed lace maxi dress (white into moss green) with thin straps, an oversized moss green cardigan, knit to texturally simulate moss (look up moss stitch w this specific rough spin yarn istg it looks just like moss), moss sandals, moss socks, and wooden jewelry with moss jewel accents. Her second outfit is moss green crochet pants, moss flats, and a white peasant top w moss embroidery. Her makeup is natural with mossy green eyeshadow, and her hair is loose beachy waves. She’d come w alt heeled feet but both her shoes would be flat :0. She’s the mori girl we deserved but never actually got.
Corinne St. Germaine (cornflower blue): traveling all the way from Middle-of-Nowhere, Nebraska, Rainbow High is Corinne’s first interaction outside of her hometown’s sixty people. She’s not totally ignorant of the world though—she’s actually huge on the internet! Her fashion style has been dubbed Lolita Americana: gold rush pioneer outfits through a cute girly lens. Her first outfit is a cornflower blue pioneer dress with a knee length hem, high neck collar, long slightly puffed sleeves, and white apron, as well as lace knee high cornflower stockings, cornflower leather ankle boots, and a cornflower bonnet trimmed in white lace. Her second outfit is a cornflower wool coat, long cornflower wool skirt, and knee high cornflower riding boots. Her hair would have a soft wave and probably be in a half up style, and her makeup would be soft. In a perfect world she’s also got a parasol >:3
Leanna Royale (royal purple): Known for clothing real life royals and only the most fashionable celebrities, the prestigious House Royale has unveiled its latest stride into the fashion world: a daughter named Leanna. Raised from birth on fine art and livery, Leanna is a princess in all but political power. Her first outfit is a polished royal purple velvet pantsuit with a royal satin shirt and purple velvet heeled pumps. Her second outfit is a silk bejeweled minidress, royal purple bejeweled strap heels, and a royal purple fur stole. Her makeup is elegant and refined, complete with a royal purple lip. Her hair is long royal purple locs in an elegant updo, and yes: she has a tiara. She’s every bit of posh violet wishes she could be (/hj)
I’m gonna try and make these! Bases would probably be whatever I can find that’s cheap, though a good visualization I’m going on rn is based on the color create dolls (scarlet and mustard for green eyes, pumpkin and royal for purple eyes, cornflower and moss for blue eyes). Maybe I won’t go so far to do two outfits but I’ll try and at least make one for each :)

Last year, rather than pick a new years' resolution, I made over a dozen new years' resolutions and tried to get them all done. I paced myself with the objective of fitting them all into the year, but... ran into an unexpected obstacle where I kind of didn't have an October, November, or December due to my company abruptly getting sold and my life turning into a nonstop living hell. With that in mind... how'd I do?
get star seeker sequel adventure thing up and running and through the first case
Didn't finish this one! I did start it in September, and I was making good progress and probably would've had it done by the end of the year if I'd had three months to work on it.
get datasouls combat toy complete up to the first miniboss combat
Did it! Tutorial section combat toy is playable on the site.

Didn't do it! There were a lot of them, and I kind of got bottlenecked on one where I wanted to wait for an art commission to come in that got put off for most of the year. I got sixteen of them done, but more sessions than that happened during the year, so overall I'm behind. Womp womp.
become an accredited AWS Certified Solutions Architect and get that raise my boss has been talking about for ages
Ha ha ha ha did it technically. I did get certified, and I did get the raise, but the raise was more a product of aggressive salary negotiation when the company got sold and my boss got fired. Also accomplishing the second part of that one resulted in me losing a quarter of my year to nightmarish IT bullshit. Oops.

Kinda did it. I did, technically, get both things, but the elliptical I got turns out isn't rated for standing use, so I couldn't combine them into a standing workflow the way I wanted. Gotta get a new one and actually put this into practice.

Did it! Didn't get the cancer screening mainly because my doctor insisted it'd be unnecessary until I was at least 40, which sounds fake but I don't know enough about cancer to dispute it. I tried various nasal sprays for the sinus thing but I'm pretty sure mucus overproduction is not the issue and I'm gonna need to get surgery, which I didn't get yet. But I did see a doctor finally!

Did it! Still need to finish off the remainder of the reviews and do a practice pass and get back on the horse with grammar, but I'm pretty happy about that accomplishment.
Overall, despite a weak finish due to factors mainly outside of my control, I think I did pretty well, and I think having the big list meant I had a much more productive 2023 than I would've had otherwise. Probably gonna make this a recurring thing!

I can’t believe I made it there... the last chapter...! (Excluding the epilogue.) But yes, I’m so happy to be done! 29 pages is a lot!! My back hurts and I wanna go lie down now...
To think it took almost 2 years to get to this point. How nostalgic... The first chapter only had 5 pages too. I guess I became more ambitious as time went on?
Firstly I’d like to apologise for the 4 month wait. The comic went through a lot of revision. New pages, deleted pages, changed scripts - it was a bit chaotic and had the most revision of any other chapter. I hope it turned out alright!
I love love looooovved colouring this comic by the way. Sorry about the lighting. I’m pretty sure you need sunglasses to read it with how brightly Ayumu is shining. I really loved the atmosphere in this. Especially having the sun set over the course of the comic! I guess this entire series is setting too...
For those with sharp eyes, this comic also had numerous references to previous chapters! While drawing these panels I couldn’t help but notice how my art has changed so much since then... It’s a good sign of improvement. I’ve also planted a couple of seiyuu/anime references. Even used a sun-chart to determine the light direction in the scene.
Now, story-wise I hope these was a satisfying ending! If not, then I apologise for botching the landing. I feel like this was the only way for my story to end. It may have been 4 months since the last chapter, but it’s only been a single night for Ayumu. Poor girl has been through a lot. It’s a bit of an open ending, but I felt that it had to be that way if I wanted to respect Ayumu’s feelings.
I also get the feeling a lot of people expected me to inflict more emotional damage onto our girls. No faith! I think this chapter has been the most wholesome update since the 2nd chapter. No pain! Just happiness and relief! No strings attached. Ayumu’s heart is sore, but she seems resolute in figuring things out at her own pace. Setsuna probably would be more heartbroken if she had held the expectation that Ayumu might return her feelings. But she was a bit more preoccupied with whether Ayumu would even be her friend. So she’s pretty happy with this outcome.
It was pretty funny writing this because while Ayumu’s feelings were relatively stable, Setsuna’s seemed to bounce back and forth wildly. The contrast was fun!
I think I can talk a lot about the characterisation and writing choices now that the story is over! But maybe there’s a time and place for that and that isn’t in this afterword. I will say that Ayumu and Setsuna are easily my favourite NijiGaku characters and even though this series is ending, I have so much more planned for them!
I almost want to apologise because I get the feeling some readers are waiting for me to draw other characters/pairs but I’m like “nope I only breathe setsupomu sorry check back later”.
I have a lot of sentimental thoughts, but I think I’ll save that for when I release the epilogue - that’s when it’s truly over. I can’t slow down yet. I have a big announcement after the epilogue is complete so please look forward to it!
It’s been really hard work getting all the way here. It’s exhausting but very fulfilling. When I was finishing this comic, I felt a rather strange feeling. Not a bad one. I felt that this comic could be a lot better. Maybe even the whole story. Drawn better, written better. Okay, it sounds bad when I put it like that, but tat feeling was - despite how much I think it can be improved, this story was something only I could make, and that’s special. To me at least.
...I could really do with some time off though.
Anyways, I’ve typed enough! I hope you enjoyed my story.
Let’s keep working till we blast past the finish line.

Well! What A Fuckening Year it has been
For the first time since 2019, I ended the year with the same job I had when it started; my boyfriend and I are now part of a polycule; I am even more of a furry; I went to three different conventions; I started drawing some very cathartic cartoons; I vended at my first art markets; I got four new tattoos, including my first ones in color; my feet changed shape on me but I finally have decent shoes for them; I had quite a lot of transition growth spurts; I am currently getting high and will watch End of Evangelion after finishing this post
A lot of the things listed above are entwined to some degree - while lord knows I have a long ways to go, I became much more resolutely Myself, a transsexual doggirl with three boyfriends
In less than a week I will mark my second HRTniversary, and holy shit have I changed a lot since the last one, and I can’t want to see what Year 3 brings
Things look good heading into this year - some doctor’s appointments, my boyfriend starting a new job, a haircut, etc. and I’m confident we can build on that foundation
I’m very glad to have you all here, especially anyone who supported my Isidore cartooning and encouraged me to make the next one grosser

late new year's resolution: giving myself permission to yell without art
Will transforming is always so good but it's fuckin impossible to search because there's no single word/tag for "in which Will looks physically fucked in various UD ways"
(I was specifically looking for someone's vecna!will art recently and I can't find it because I can't search tags with a ! since every post that includes Will and Vecna shows up....byler was just sitting there on the ground and Will was all tall and gangly and had his vines wrapping around Mike (as always) with Mike touching one....like a cursed finger boop......anyway if you know what I'm talking about, send me a link I'm begging)
ngl more than Will transforming and Mike comforting him, I like to think about fucked up Will comforting MIKE. consider:
4-5 — the monster under Mike's bed has gotten good at navigating the Wheeler's house when no one's home/everyone's asleep, but Mike can hear it sometimes and one day he decides "I AM GOING TO CATCH WHATEVER IS IN MY ROOM!! MOM SAYS THERE'S NO MONSTERS BUT I KNOW IT'S HERE!!!!"
Mike is constantly throwing things under his bed when he doesn't wanna clean up so Will has gotten used to Mike just reaching around for whatever he needs and going back to his human business so he like....deadass doesn't even attempt to hide when Mike Does look for him while setting a trap. his mistake. he panicked and wanted to calm Mike down but he overcompensated and destroyed any threatening vibes he might have had.
anyway now he's Mike's cryptid imaginary friend for the forseeable future and they have a sort of Sully/Boo dynamic, in which Mike is just fucking thrilled with this giant cute monster and Will is panicking about a human trying to be all clingy and gross because this is Not how it's supposed to go what the fuck is happening
6-8 — a friendless Mike is having a bad time and his extreme negative emotions yeet him into the UD and demoWill has to wordlessly calm him down and try to figure out how to send him back to wherever he came from. now he has this little human menace riding on his bony shoulders everywhere because Mike's self-preservation skills are nonexistent and he kept almost getting strangled by vines or pissing off packs of demodogs and also Will has to keep him alive without letting him get more contaminated than he already is from breathing the air.
when Mike does get back home, and sort of explains where he was and what was happening, no one believes him and they try to make him process it as a near death experience. I mean he eventually lies and tells people what they want to hear but like he can see evidence of Will following him around on the Other Side sometimes, in the present, not as a trauma filter or waking nightmare but just...flickering lights, temporary marks on the walls, a general feeling of no longer being alone and friendless. when Will is older and stronger, or if Mike has another particularly Bad Time, they'll see each other again.
9-12 — sentient horror Will Byers isn't supposed to be here but he doesn't have good control over his powers yet and he's not sure how to go back and he was spotted by someone while considering his options....which immediately narrowed his choice down to "do not permanently damage this human's brain with my incomprehensible form" so Mike just has a mysterious cloaked friend in the woods for a while (a really shitty cloak!! his wizard robe is pathetic rn but he will eventually gain more control and take a more comprehensible purposeful form, so he can face Mike looking fancy as fuck) eventually Will is gonna walk out looking like a background character from one of Mike's favorite fantasy movies and Mike will lose his entire shit. his ghost friend is cool as hell and he is so glad his mom forced him to go outside that day.
13-15 — Will is in the human world on purpose, has a human appearance on purpose, makes emotional connections on purpose......but it can't last forever. he has to take frequent trips to the UD to get the proper nutrients/energy to survive. if he doesn't return on time, he'll start losing his appearance or just sorta melt out of this dimension. which isn't really a threat to his physical health or anything, but having someone Witness it could definitely be detrimental to that Emotional Connections thing.
anyway Will often gets a lil too caught up in spending time with Mike and has to make a quick escape. one time when he realizes it's time to go Mike interrupts, Will blatantly fails to come up with an excuse, byler get in a mild argument about lying which wastes even more time, and then they faces the consequences of their affection (affection meaning Will not wanting to explain in order to keep Mike's mental health intact, and Mike wanting to know what's wrong because Will always seems like he's in fucking peril but never explains)
not that Mike ends up caring after he starts to understand the situation, but bro he thought Will was fucking dying or getting abducted by aliens or some shit in the middle of having an actual fight about Will "disappearing" like he was just not having a good time. Will chilled him out tho. and also now he can show Mike more of his capabilities
