im having rottmnt brainrot (call that brainrottmnt lmao anyways) so here are some thoughts i had

i just wanted to point out that the link between emotions and their mystic powers is so cool?? like it all connects and you kind of slowly realize it as the shows goes on

mikey ends up the “most powerful mystic warrior” why??? cuz he’s the most emotionally driven character!! out of all the brothers, he is the most outwardly emotional and in tune with what he’s feeling most of the time, therefore it just makes sense that he would be able to understand and harness their mystic abilities the best!!

and then on the other end, you have donnie, who is the last to accept the mystic powers (he literally outright refuses at first in favor of just relying on his technology like he’s used to) because he’s the least emotionally driven!!!! and the fact that he gets so frustrated with his brothers for just *getting* the whole mystic thing while he can’t grasp it is SO INTERESTING AUGH and it explores his low empathy in a unique way!

and i would also like to point out that all the moments (mostly in the movie) where they unlock stronger and more elaborate forms of their abilities in moments of high emotional tension is just perfect

I bought a cushion for my fireside chair with a mouse from Beatrix Potter's Tailor of Gloucester and it's the best financial investment I've made in a while, I smile every time I see it

#i found this book i don't remember where when i was 10ish and tried to read it. very audacious seeing as i knew like 50 words of english #i skimmed through it looking for words i recognised. mouse. snow. coat etc #then i encountered the phrase ''worsted chenille'' and it was the last straw #i knew what worst means. it means very bad. it's in past tense for some reason. and chenille is a caterpillar. in french for some reason #and this doesn't make the sentence any more intelligible! i thought it was about clothes? wasn't this guy making a coat #what role does the worst caterpillar play in this project #it was demoralising i felt like english & i would never work. you can know the words and they still don't make sense #the words worsted chenille have haunted me ever since

writers strike + disney continuing to be a deeply weird modern superpower reminded me of back when ducktales 2017 was still airing and the writers revealed that 1. they would never address who was the biological father of huey, dewey and louie because donald duck stepping up to raise them was more important thematically, and 2. the writers wanted to feature mickey mouse in the show as donald’s old buddy who made it as a famous actor and was kinda too successful and out of touch because of it, but disney execs wouldn’t let them because they were worried about tarnishing mickey’s image

with all these newer satiric depictions of mickey as commentary on disney as a company, I feel compelled to share my wildly cursed ducktales 2017 headcanon that the reason mickey wasn’t in the show was because he was the triplets’ deadbeat biological father donald cut off because he refused to pay child support

like, everyone knew, they just ignored him because he was so sucks

im rewatching tmnt 2012 and like... not only have people blown raph’s aggressiveness (esp towards mike) WAYY out of the water but like.. i honestly have reason to belive mikey is actually 2012 raph’s favorite brother??

we see mikey piss him off a lot, yes, but when it comes to butting heads it seems like that happens most often between mikey and /donnie/ surprisingly (go with the flow guy vs. think everything out guy it makes sense) and often mikey likes to make raph mad on purpose, yknow, like b r o t h e r s d o

on top of that, there’s so many instances where raph talks to mikey personally and gives him words of encouragement/even AFFECTION (head pat!) and when they’re in fights, whenever mikey is the one in trouble it always ends up being RAPH who seems the most affected by it (after mikey gets captured: “that’s it! you’re going down!” and then proceeds to go ballistic on his ass)

idk its just like yeah, raph is allergic to feelings but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love his bros?? they are literally such a good duo i wish more ppl saw that
