#I've played with irl atheists and catholics and everything in between #but it rarely feels like faith is a real factor for anyone-- DM or player #outside of‚ again‚ divine spellcasters and Big Epic Plot Things #I mean there are a couple of 'RAAAHGH FUCK THE GODS >:C' edgy backstory types but #no one is just Normally Culturally Religious and it's WEIRD #like it's not even a matter of faith in dnd! the gods are LITERALLY OBJECTIVELY PROVABLY REAL #so what does that MEAN for the average person! how does it shape language? business? culture?#where are the people wearing holy symbols like amulets-- or the way modern christians very casually wear crosses?#blessings over meals? prayers before bed? burnt offerings?#and like I enjoy thinking about world and culture building but I know that's A Whole Thing but even just like...#it doesn't feel like anyone believes in gods at all except clerics and paladins #like they DO because they factually exist but in the same way I 'believe in' like. the president of france.#like yeah he exists and is important to some people but has no bearing on my life whatsoever #that's such a fucking weird approach to the DIVINE in a polytheist world where those gods are YOUR CULTURE'S GODS??#I am bad at this myself but I'm not religious so it's harder for me to remember what Being Religious All The Time Casually is like lol #funny enough my character with the most intentionally religious background in this sense #is one of my ones who's ended up wrapped up in Big Plot God Things lmao #'aubree starts the campaign with a holy symbol of yondalla because of course she does why wouldn't she'#'oh okay well she's gonna get deeply and personally entangled with a bunch of death gods immediately' fdkjghkdf oh!! welp #you don't really pray to urogalan unless you're breaking ground for a new building or someone just died so it's STILL weird for her lol #but at least I had the framework there of 'oh yeah the gods exist and matter to me and my everyday life and culture' in general #about me #posts from twitter

I very much try to live by a 'most generous interpretation' ethos and just try desperately to believe everyone is trying their best to seek and do Good, even though our understanding of it is always necessarily incomplete and limited, I truly do believe most people are fundamentally searching for that, but oh man sometimes y'all make me read theological opinions on this site that's not just 'i severely disagree but see how one could get to that opinion even if I think it an awful conclusion' but more like 'this is the worst thing I've ever seen and I wish I didn't have eyes'

terribly sorry for progressively getting more and more annoyed and tired with jn. this show kinda gets a lot more exhausting on a rewatch when you know its not going to get better

#i think what happened when it was airing was that like. it was the direct successor to sun and moon right?#and that was a show EVERYONE shat on when it got revealed. the setting the art change the shift to a goofier style etc etc #but then it aired and aside from some hiccups while adjusting the first few eps- sm turned out to be a joy of a show #not just for a casual watch- you can tune on most episodes without context and just have a pleasant time bc its a cozy show #but also if youre more into the battle scene bc this series kinda goes hard on them #and while the episodes had a goofier tone to them the episodes never felt like they were talking down to its audience #everyone brings up the deaths and how maturely they were handled but seriously- they didnt need to go that hard on the minior episode #and yet- it took fans a long time to really come around to it and stop giving it bad faith criticism #the most popular youtubers were finding every excuse to shit on it and mock the fans #so i think when jn was announced with another slight art shift and a different format- i think we all got a little defensive over it #like hey sm had hiccups too! jn just needs some time to grow into itself and find its footing #and we had no reason to think it wouldn’t. like there were some red flags like how mimey was handled and some clickbait episodes #but we got genuinely nice episodes back then too! the scorbunny eps were neat and ash and gohs intro eps are great #the pichu opening is REALLY strong and i thought it showed a ton of promise for the show #the leon and eternatus stuff was being set up #so i waited for jn to pick up and waved off a lot of criticism as bad faith bc hey. ppl were ruthless to sm and forgetting that we do have t #to work with the limit that its a childrens series. which is fine.#but well…… suddenly we’re in the final arc and its not better. its worse. holy shit did it get worse #episodes like the drizzile one were now the exception. not the rule.#most episodes that are pleasant on a first watch became an absolute slog on a rewatch #the ‘’fanservice’’ feels more like a marketing ploy than an attempt to respect the characters. the production value was a goddamn mess.#entire arcs went unresolved #so it gave me rose tinted glasses until it all fell apart at once for me at the end #but now i have the joyful experience of watching the whole thing through knowing damn good and well it gets worse. yay #echoed voice #jn lb

Oh yeah it just occured to me...

This "counterphobic 6" "I'm full of shame about being a 6" *typing everyone who acts embarrassing or annoyingly as 6* nonsense was probably invented by a lot of bitchy ass 3s. Struggling with their 3 -> 6 line and hating on their integration type as we all do.

Every 3 sees 6 as a massive loser type and a shameful thing to be. Because 6s *gasp* believe in conspiracy theories and they even *faints on chaise* talk about them in public sometimes! How embarrassing to be a human being that speaks the truth! See if you're an image type and you have the vice of Deceit this makes sense.

Also part of speaking the truth is talking about your earnest feelings and how your vulnerable humanness is being violated by the corruption in the world. Another big no-no thing for 3s.

#I recently showed my friend ennea and she related most to 6 #Which is based because that's what I originally pinned her as when I met her (6w5)#I considered 5 for her as well but she didn't feel 5 for herself #However then I explained 7 to her and she was like EW OH GOD EW NO even worse than 5 #I relate a lot to 6/7 lol but I attract a lot of 5/6 line ppl #It's so interesting #Anyways there's so much imagey shame in the definition of raw 6 that doesn't really belong there #Yes 6s disintegrate to 3 but I'm talking the static version of 6 #It's not a shame type it's a head type #6 is about finding the right belief system to place your Faith in #Which can be simplified to “it's about finding the truth of life”#Which is where it gets confused with 8 all the time because 8 is (loss of) Holy Truth #Holy Truth is the inner knowing that reality is real #The loss of it results in this constant rage that you're constantly being lied to about what's supposedly real #And it leads to the postmodernist belief that nothing is real but the power to lie about what's real. So I can do whatever I want #The weakness of 6 is being culty and the detachment from body (6 -> 9 where they need to go) makes them feel like #They cannot handle too much uncertainty and they feel very mentally impressionable if they don't have a strong belief system to put faith i #The 6 impressionablity comes from the disconnection from the body #Body types have the opposite problem where we aren't impressionable enough... We have apathy nothing matters attitude #9 at the center of body triad go figure
