To tell the truth, the adventurer had yet to ask the forest guardian if he was allowed to hunt there. So far he had been relying on the rations he brought and what berries he could find nearby. "You got a really nice one, I bet it'll taste delicious once you cook it with some herbs."

It took him a little too long to connect the dots and realize that Kazuha had brought the deer for him. At the realization he blinked once, twice, and his face slowly started gaining color due to how flustered he was. No, it wasn't the first time someone tried to flirt with him, but it was the first time he was courted by another wolf, it was the first time he was gifted the best catch after a hunt. How could he not be flustered by this? "Are you trying to show off your hunting skills or is this your way to court me?" Cú tried to say in a playful manner, despite the evident blush on his features, to confirm his suspicion.

sometimes, aether was afraid of himself for having so many chaotic friends that were so so different and unique in their own ways.

first was childe being the rich friend of the friendgroup, and someones wallet (cough cough zhongli) he was also quite a battle addicted person, starting fights every now and then.

zhongli was the one friend that forgets their money almost every single time so people think hes broke (i bet hes rich by how much he forgets his money and use’s other people instead) he would also be the friend that tells tales to the others.

raiden ei is the bad cook, she may probably be the worst cook alive ever, as ei has burnt down the kitchen not once, not twice, not thrice, but i cannot count. she has burnt the food enough too. oh and did i mention that ei is quite obsessed with the idea of eternity (dont say eternity is stupid she’ll electrify you..)

venti, or should i say.. barbatos. is quite a heavy drinker, be careful to store your wine somewhere safe (tip for diluc) but its not like it could escape the nose of this drunkard. he is quite a goofball at times, but he can get serious. be careful of this drunkard so called drunken bard of the college.

albedo, (the love of my life.) the class scientist, he was known as chalk prince though. his intelligence exceeds some of the teachers, even if he can graduate already he stays in college for a little while. (to see me ofc..) he says its for experiments and because he thinks its quite unfair if he graduated.

rubedo (my love❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️) was often called the imperfect version of albedo, he gets quite annoyed whenever people called him that, so aether has to step in. just in case he made another student go to the hospital again.

they all (i’m too lazy to do the other characters ok.. shut ur mouth) caused quite a bit of trouble, expect for the good boys (razor, bennet, thoma🫶🫶)

anyways— to meet or die a lonely death, was your moto, (wym its o u r s) and you met aether exactly the same time you’ve said that, causing him to be quite concerned for your well being and confused as well. meet who?— that was what he wondered the most, though he never said it out-loud.

seeing your eyes shimmering with such hope, made him— feel things.. he didnt know what to say to it— it felt so new yet so familiar at the same time.

he could only watch you as you smile so happily talking about if you ever ended up with someone. his heart aches at the thought of you loving other people, but he cannot do anything about it. after who is HE to do anything in your love life?

though, on the bright side, unlike his brother, I think Rubedo would not eat just whatever weeds he finds. He'd probably recognize it as something edible and try it out to see if it tastes any good. Still, definitely quirky nodnod

ANYWAY BOTANY MAJOR RUBEDO

Botany major Rubedo who helps take care of the campus' greenhouse + garden. Rubedo's apartment (or, shared apartment w/ Albedo) having plants placed throughout to keep it lively and have some fresh(er) air circulating around. Rubedo being fantastic with plants and able to bring back ones that seem...less than fortunate to thriving and green and--wait can that species even flower???

If you didn't know now, now you do.

He definitely has a little garden--whether it's only a few types of herbs or if he managed to fit a little garden of veggies--on the balcony as well.

Albedo's 100% fine with it since he likes to cook homemade meals. Having fresh produce always on hand just means less to have to shop for! Though Rubedo's starting to regret growing so much rosemary. He can only handle so many dishes with rosemary artfully (he says this with a hint of contempt) added in because the "rosemary bush is beginning to outgrow the balcony".

Honestly, Rubedo is one rosemary chicken wrap away from trimming the whole plant down to a few twigs.

He can still remember the mortification of finding a whole stem of rosemary (uncrushed) after biting into said wrap. Albedo refuses to admit it was on purpose.

Continuing, continuing--

I still stand by the idea that Rubedo prefers living in the moment. Not in an impulsive way, though, but more in a very...appreciative sense. Because of this, he's very very likely to be spontaneous. A quick text asking if you're free and him holding your hand (always, always) as he drags you along to this small restaurant he found while on a walk and the entire time he's quiet.

It's not until you sit down that he beams with a sort of childish excitement--there's nothing like discovering something new, something fresh, with someone you care about.

so, ahem,,,,, i have a brainrot

modern au! where special forces soldier!reader founds a test subject!rubedo and scaramouche. both whom are probably around 3-5 of age. test subject!scaramouche being able to wield anemo and electro while test subject!rubedo is able to wield cryo.

due to their past of being a test subject they’re very weary of people, specially doctors. and due to their trauma they can’t control their powers and causes injuries and deaths in the base without meaning to. only special forces soldier!reader is able to calm them down due to being the one to find them and escort them to safety. after a while of subduing their powers and teaching them how to control it at the base, the general decides to let sfs!reader take them home and basically become their pseudo-parent.

just a cute found family series i thought of due to a fanart i saw on pinterest.

Wait wait speaking of Albedo and fact checks

Albedo being that one menace sibling that has random questionable thoughts that keep you awake at 3 am and Rubedo always being on the suffering end

Albedo randomly saying those random thoughts and actually trying to figure them out while Rue just stares at him being like “why..? why do you do this???” but then the question gets stuck inside Rue’s head as well and haunts him as he tries to sleep wwwww

Oh for sure-

Albedo, at first, doesn't actually mean to cause any distress, he just has a harder time trying to turn off his brain right before he goes to bed. So, of course he ends up turning on his side to face his brother (sitting at the table a little ways away from where Albedo lays on the couch) and asks-

"Grass doesn't feel pain, but what if it was sentient? Would it be considered immoral to cut grass even though it cannot feel pain because it would be aware of the world around it and may or may not have a desire to not be cut?"

Rubedo stops, staring down at his book with a fell expression.

Then, the book shuts.

"Go to sleep already."

So they both shuffle to their rooms and lay in bed, Albedo falling asleep as the satisfaction of finally voicing his thoughts allowing him to quiet his mind enough to drift off.

But Rubedo lays awake.

He furrows his brow, staring up at the ceiling.

"...would it be immoral?"

Obviously not because it's just grass, he huffs to himself, but...then where would the line be crossed? When is it considered fine to do something similar where a being is sentient yet doesn't feel pain and when is it considered not fine?

And then there's the idea that it'd be considered immoral no matter what because the grass is sentient and harming a sentient being is--

Rubedo rubs at his face, frowning as he finds himself unable to fall asleep.

Goddamn it, Albedo.

I feel like Albedo would constantly forget normal things because his mind is always elsewhere Like y’know how sometimes you have your phone in your hand but you forget about it and start looking around being like “where is my phone?”

I feel like Alby would do that while Rue just stares and judge him like “it’s in your hand???” and similar situations basically happen on a daily basis wwwww

Rubedo sees Albedo trying fried crickets because hey, why not?? Apparently they're good right?? And the entire time Rubedo is looking off to the side because...no he does not want to partake even if he's feeling peckish.

No insect snacks for Rubedo, please.

And that exactly!! Albedo walking around their apartment with his glasses perched atop his head and a puzzled look. He's searched his room, the kitchen, even between the cushions so thank goodness for Rubedo finally coming back home and-

"They're on your head"

Albedo does his best to check there first in the future. WAIT HAHHA the phone thing but Albedo texts Rubedo to ask him if he's seen his phone and Rubedo is just "?????" squinting at his phone before rolling his eyes because obviously Albedo needs to get his eyes checked again.

But absolutely Rue's more reckless! He just wants to discover and what better way to do that than just doing that?? Albedo, at those times, tries to reel him back in but he can't really stop his brother from doing what he wants...so he'd probably end up joining him so he's not alone dhfaoihe

It's also funny because I think Rubedo would be put off by Albedo's impulsiveness like--like that one post where I said that Rubedo would be grossed out by Albedo eating a bug.

Also the idea of Albedo being more book smart and Rubedo being more common sense smart please...

That'd be so funny.

sprout has impeccable memory, not flawed at all, and definitely not the type of memory to forget adding the specified anon tag nope not at all-

Rubedo and Albedo would've been the type of twins to get into so much trouble at a young age for switching around a bunch since they're identical twins and Albedo's just a little mischevious and Rubedo would've gone along with his shenanigains. Like, if they were never separated or if they were both taken in by Miss Alice in the modern au.

Little experiments like how long it'd take for others to figure out that they swapped schedules and have been taking each other classes (though little Rubedo cries at one point because he doesn't like science nearly as much as Albedo and wants to have library time sooner).

Surprisingly, though, Albedo is the more certain of the two in the sense that he'd take the 'older brother' role despite being a few minutes younger than Rubedo.

And rather than mimicking Albedo in hopes of gaining other's acceptance, Rubedo would follow through and try to do stuff that Albedo does because he admires his brother and holds genuine interest. But sadly Rue is more bitter about their circumstances (':
