Summary: MC is going through a difficult time and Lucifer is there to comfort them.

Warning: Hurt/comfort

"It's okay not to be perfect all the time, it's okay not to be strong all the time." Lucifer's fingers massaged your neck with the intention of making you relax and he seemed to know what he was doing because you breathed a sigh of relief within seconds. His bare skin was like ice against your hot skin, making you shiver and still crave more physical contact. "You told me that once and you still didn't take your own advice. What am I going to do with you?"

You did not answer. You didn't have the strength for that. The pressure was finally dropping on you and alone it was suffocating to bear all that weight on your shoulders. Few tears fell from your face when you decided you had enough and went looking for one of your dear demons so you could vent everything you had inside your chest, inside your mind. And Lucifer has proven to be a great listener for you, putting aside the professional air and letting you lie in his lap while talking about everything that has become a problem. He had the most loving eyes when he looked at you, like you were the most precious thing he's ever seen.

He bent his face a little closer to yours and placed a kiss on your forehead. “It's okay, MC. And it's going to be okay, I promise you. Me and my brothers will be here to support you when you feel down, tto get you up when you have a relapse and to hold you back when you're falling. So you don't have to take it all alone."

His words were simple and gentle, soft to your ears. And yet something warm spread inside you like a fire, but you couldn't tell whether what you felt was gratitude, understanding, or love. You couldn't tell whether you wanted to smile or cry, but you didn't have to choose. Tears poured from your eyes like a torrent as Lucifer whispered how proud he was of you and all you've accomplished, how proud he was that you were so strong for putting up with it all for so long and he held you all the time, humming an old and beautiful song to calm you down.

You wiped your eyes aggressively as you tried to say something coherent enough that he could understand you, but nothing seemed to settle right then and you were mumbling and babbling nonsense. Your mind was totally blank and finally a weight was gone from your chest, the weight of a responsibility, the weight of a pain. Lucifer's red eyes seemed to pull it all out of your soul, leaving you in a huge peace of mind and his touch could put you to sleep if you couldn't resist it.

"Thanks Luci, thanks for everything!"

Was all you managed to say, gathering your strength to sit on the couch and hug him tight against you. The scent and zeal with which he treated you was comforting and soothing like a fresh breeze or the warm sun bathing your skin, the happiness he offered was the same happiness you felt when enjoying the simpler things in life and feeling yourself melt in his arms you closed your eyes and let yourself be put to sleep. As long as he was there nothing and no one could inflict you, you knew that he, that his brothers would protect you. And you felt grateful for that, you felt loved and appreciated, and you loved them for that.

Thankful: Lucifer x Reader ❤ Obey Me

Lucifer was having one of those days where he felt torn apart yet again.

Ever since the fall, which no one ever mentioned at all due to the pain and suffering they'd been unfairly handed, especially now when their beloved human exchange student was present.

No one wanted to hurt them emotionally, especially Lucifer.

He knew how his brothers felt, he could sense their grief, hurt and pain from miles away, yet he stood behind them like a powerful pillar of strength.

Yet, he himself had no one behind himself.... until you came along.

I'd stood by him in all circumstances, never wavering, never faltering.

Though not physically strong, I was there for him with my own quiet strength.

We never needed words. All it took was a glance, the sudden stopping from pen scratching on paper. The cold coffee on his desk long forgotten since the early afternoon.

I stepped up next to his seat, a hand on his shoulder. "Lucifer. Come on. Follow me. You're stressed. Please?"

He sighed, giving me a tired smile. "As you wish, love." Leading us to our shared bed, he absent mindedly left his hand on my thigh.

I cupped his face into my hands, forcing him to look at him.

"Lucifer Morningstar. I just want you to know that I'm proud of you. For the person you are... it's not easy to out aside your own grief and comfort everyone else, yet you're a strong tower your brothers turn to when they need you. Sure, they're a handful," I chuckled. "But it's because they love you so much they deliberately get into trouble."

He relaxed immediately, pulling me into a tight hug, nuzzling my neck as he let out a few shaky breaths, his usually athletic form now trembling in my arms.

"I'm here, Lucifer. I'll always be here for you. I love you," I whispered.

These moments are ours, in private. Just me. And him.

In light of more transphobia going on in the fandom, please do yourselves a favor, especially if you’re trans, and block @/devildarndasher. They’re a cis person who harassed multiple people at this point and also denied the identity of a wonderful content creator who did... literally nothing wrong, in an attempt to claim that their content is transphobic.

Normally I wouldn’t comment on something that seems like it’s over already, but the person has been making new posts every few minutes, trying to get it into the main tags and seems to have been messaging people to encourage others to harass people. Just block and move on, don’t engage!

On that note, please go give some love to @/minteyeddevil! You can find a cohesive post about exactly what happened on their blog, and they have tons of quality content, too!

Sin(s) they're most guilty of: Wrath, Pride, and Envy (in that order, though they’re all pretty lowkey in how she expresses them)

Sin(s) they're least guilty of: Sloth

Favourite subject at RAD: Three-way tie between Magical Theory, Potions, and Runes & Sigils. They're entry points for magic for her; she immediately jumped into learning as much as she could in her first year at RAD despite being told she had no magical capabilities. Those three don't require any advanced spellcasting ability*.

Honorable mention: Devildom Botany. She loves her plants.

*As far as my imagination is concerned because I just made some of these up lmao

Least favourite subject at RAD: Devildom Law. Somehow I think it's a lot less convoluted than human world law, but it's still a lot to take in because there's no way any constitution is ever straightforward.

Honorable mention: Mathematics. Not that she had to take it**, but there's an 'I'm an art major' joke here somewhere.

**personal headcanon is that exchange students pick their classes, and Devildom Law and Devildom History are the only non-optional ones. Why force them to go through Math if they're there to learn about culture no I'm not upset I had to take Math several times in uni because I'm bad at it

Comfort: Lucifer x Reader

I sat on my bed, knees to my chest. I'd been feeling down, so I avoided the brothers all day long.

Somehow I didn't make it to the dining hall and Lucifer was came up to my room.

A gentle knock interrupted my musings. "MC. I know you're in there."

I opened the door, yet this felt....odd.

And so, without warning I flung myself into his arms, burying my face into the crook of his neck, a few quiet sobs resounded in his ears.

"I....feel like..... I'm not enough...."

His grip tightened around my form as he carried me to my bed. "You are more than enough, MC. And I appreciate all you do for myself and my brothers....you're strong, intelligent and...bright. even brighter than my former self..."

He placed a gentle kiss to my forehead, "Should we have dinner here, or would you like to join us downstairs?"

At times like this, I realize.... this is....a blessing.
