TOP 10 CELEBRITIES & REAL PEOPLE FANDOMS ON AO3 BASED ON NUMBER OF FANWORKS (2009-2022)

To make these bar chart race, all series titles in the Celebrities & Real People Category on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.

Locked fanworks aren't included in the count because Wayback Machine can’t view those, only Ao3 users can.

In 2009-2012, American Idol RPF was only in the Music & Bands category. By 2013, it was categorized to Celebrities & Real People and TV Shows instead. Since its 2009-2012 were high enough to rank in the top 10 in this category, I've decided to show it here in the bar chart.

After American Idol RPF changed categories, it seems to have lost half its fanworks. There aren't much archives of the American Idol RPF page, but I believe it was because the tags of singers who participated in this show were removed from its subtags.

Japanese Actor RPF was reduced to 9.66% of its total fanworks by 2015 because Johnny's Entertainment was removed from its subtags.

British Actor RPF was reduced to around 70% of its total fanworks by 2017 because RPF of various media was removed from its subtags.

Music RPF was not in the Celebrities & Real People category in 2015-2018.

Minecraft (Video Game) was in the top 10 in 2021-2022. However, it has been removed from the Celebrities & Real People category by the time this post was made, so I'm excluding it from the bar chart.

Fandom tags that are no longer in the Celebrities & Real People category tag as of posting this are left out of the bar chart race. These tags are usually either miscategorized or already have other tags referring to the same fandom.

For tags that existed on the same years before eventually merging into one tag later on (such as CW Network RPF which later on merged with Actor RPF, and Internet Personalities which later on merged with Video Blogging RPF), I use the data of whichever tag has the highest number for that year.

I just realized that every year at Christmas,

the Merlin fandom can rely upon two particular cast members to post about Merlin,

and that every year, without fail, these two cast members are always

the actors who played Arthur and Mordred.

This is a totally normal fact.

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

That's a very hard question... I have more than 500 works posted on AO3 + fics written before that in French...

I have a very fond memory of a Feliciano Lopez/Marat Safin fic that I wrote with a dear friend during months like ten years ago.

For the most recent ones, I really enjoyed my Logandoscar polyamory "Love is an infinite resource "

Loves the pairing, the poly side of it and it was my longest fic ever (before "Red White and Williams Blue").

E: What character do you identify with most? Is there a certain fic of yours that captures these qualities particularly well?

I mostly write fanfiction about male character in order not to really identify with them!

That being said, I quite feel like George would be the closest to me.

Especially in my dom/sub fic " I find my way back to a higher ground" because he struggle with letting go and loosing control and it's something I had to work on myself (went to a therapist rather than finding a dom, though lol)

I: How many fandoms have you written in? Do you have a favorite?

Here is a little list :

Saint Seiya - Tennis RPF - Football RPF - 30 seconds to Mars RPF - The Hobbit Actor RPF - Merlin - Merlin Actor RPF - Formula 1 RPF

Merlin has been my longest fandom (as an active participant) and it keeps a special place in my heart as I spend so many great moments in that fandom and I'll always be impressed how alive it stayed even after the show ended.

F1 RPF is the only fandom I'm active in at the moment so... This is clearly my actual favourite!

O: What are your thoughts on people writing fanfic of your fanfic?

I'm honoured, of course!

I like to be notified about it but for me, fanfictions are created to be shared so I like that idea!

U: Is there a pairing you would like to write, but haven’t tried yet.

As a multi-shipper at hearts, I can always be tempted by some new parings!

At the moment, I have enough WIP's so I don't have concrete plans to write many new pairing.

I'd like to explore Logan/Lando and Logan/James a bit more (longer works).

I'm also tempted by Logan/George/Alex!

Hi everyone! I’m back with another ad! I’m interested in M/M only content over Discord, specifically canon/canon characters (Trans and non-binary characters/folks welcome) with an 18+ NSFW tint to it. Smut will be involved, so you should be 18 or older.

My name is Alexx, I’m 30 and I am in the CST time zone. Currently (…always really) my sleep schedule is all sorts of screwed up, so I’m on at odd hours. I should be able to accommodate any time zone constraints etc. I’m currently only looking for canon characters, and I do not double in most cases. Here is a short list of fandoms and pairings i’m interested in. Characters I’d like to play will be bolded, any that aren’t just mean I can play either one.

So... I've really gotten into F1 RPF lately. Charlos for life. I need someone to write a Merthur F1 AU. Idk. Maybe they're on the same team, maybe it's enemies to lovers of competing teams, maybe they are both principals, maybe they're engineers. Idk. Someone write it. ... ... on a side note, I got into it because the intagram algorithm said "you like red and gold (pendragon heraldry) and homoerotic tension (see previous paranthetical), so look at these Europeans stare longingly at each other (Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz wearing Ferrari colors)." Anyway. That's how we're here.
