I actually don't like doing this because I know there are lots of people who need more help than me but I'm at the bottom of the barrel on my savings right now and we don't know when mom is getting discharged from the hospital. She's still on the PCA for pain control and can't be discharged until she's able to manage the pain with oral meds.
I'm staying with her on nights I don't have work but I'm getting behind at the office because the stress of the last month has my pain flared up so bad I can barely function.
One of my closest IRL friends needs surgery otherwise he will permanently lose the use of his arms. He is one of the sweetest people I know always willing to help out others and works closely with several cat shelters and other charity organizations.
As we are in Australia this should be covered by the public health system but they won't be able to fit him in till at least Q3 2023 and by then he will have permanent damage even if the surgery will save the use of his arms. As his private health insurance doesn't cover this level of surgery he will have to fund the cost himself.
If you have any spare change please consider donating to help fund Ben's surgery and save the use of his arms.
My roommate and I are financially unstable while he does through a long, complicated diagnosis process that started as we stopped being homeless. I just got a job, and it's going to pay well and allow us to get caught up and stable, but I don't get my check for a week and a half. We have rent due on the 1st, our storage bill due at the end of the month, and we are out of food.
Dm me for proof or details
I will do art for anyone who gives, just message me @theartistrans I also take commissions there.
I have been blessed and am grateful, but I can give you so much more.
(Do you think medic was aware of his looks when he was younger)
I feel like the algorithm will filter this post from existence due to the mention of b00bs.

And now, something completely different:
I understand the appeal of bare skin, but what about the appeal of fully clothed and still seemingly naked. I'm talking about suits if you can't follow.
I'm kneeling, begging, pleading for Valve to allow colouring his lab coat and give Medic a dark mantel. It would be so good (source: trust me).
Oh and underwear. Yeah, I prefer when people wear clothes :)
Medical racism isn't important to address just because it's mean to be racist to patients (I mean, it is mean), but because medical racism kills people. It contributes to systemic suffering of those deemed non-white, and the disinformation that spreads about non-white people.
insurance makes sense on a conceptual level but in reality insurance companies turn decently huge profits by a) relying on things not happening, which they mostly don't b) ensuring things mostly don't happen by exluding anything that might make "things happening" more likely and stacking it in their favour and then c) finding any excuse and loophole possible to not cover you if anything ever does happen
like. insurance would be good if it wasn't managed by insurance companies
Why does life saving medication cost so much? People need to take these medications or else bad effects can happen to them. I have to take these everyday in order to control my epilepsy.
I have lived with Complex PTSD and Anorexia since I was 6 years old.
Over the years I have also been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, Functional Neurological Disorder, Fibromyalgia, a large bowel that no longer works and Costochondritis. I have had 46 hospital admissions both medical and mental health over the past 8 years to date (date of posting is April 2024)
I require weekly psychology, dietitian,, GP and physiotherapy appts as well as weekly medication costs, and other specialist appointments frequently.
I have been on the disability pension since 2019 but that doesn’t even begin to cover half of what I require and I have thousands of bills outstanding and money required to access the supports that I need to not be in hospital every few weeks.
I so appreciate the current cost of living but would be so grateful any donation large and small so that I can begin to truly live. Believe me when I say I have exhausted every option possible to try and get on track and moving forward.
My parents have started a GoFundMe for my mothers medical expenses because insurance doesn't cover all of her medicines, supplies to wrap her deep wounds, or hospital bills anymore. My mother is disabled and requires constant medical care. I'm begging you to spread this as far as you can!! Even just sharing the link helps!

hdb is so chronically ill its unreal. post polio syndrome. hep c. withdrawal syndrome depending on the playthrough. probably some sort of sleep disorder. all this probably amounts to chronic pain and fatigue and nausea...and he guilts himself on days he feels like he cant work bc of it. partially bc his self hatred abt being an addict and partially bc he sees being disabled as a moral failure (tbh he sees both as a moral failure). and its just like. ugh i get it. i really fucking get it.
yknow maybe if i make a sequel comic when i do get top surgery and release it this year, i can write off the surgery costs as a business expense #taxmaxing
It's all "Kids Need To Be Back In School!!" until city schools are so underfunded that multiple schools have to close for multiple days because there's no air condition and it's still hot out, or in winter there's no heat (while the former governor and centrist darling uses state funds to install a heated driveway at the governor's mansion)
The fact that I continually see posts in my local Spoonie groups from people looking for doctors that are chronic illness friendly tells you just about everything you need to know about the state of medical care in this country.
