The Amazing Digital Circus and Escapism
A/N: Just watched and I LOOVEEEE cooking theories for these kinda of Youtube Series even if they turn out to be wrong so Heres the incomprehensible youtube comment I made just now bye
I like to put preliminary theories for series like this and my theory for this is that the circus is some kind of representation of escapism and/or maladaptive daydreaming
1. There's a shit ton of religious symbolism, maybe suggesting that the circus is supposed to be “heaven” although it has underlying hellish elements. For example, cain being portrayed as god and the fact that he doesn’t seem to really get why anyone would want to leave. In contrast, his name references the brother of abel who was cursed by god for his jealous rage. Not only this but, how everything is generally upbeat but there are momentary mental breaks when they are brought back to reality.
2. Reality is often blurred: The characters are real people but its suggested the lines are easily blurred like in the fact that pomni gets attached to a character that was never real to begin with or the fact that cain hints that it can be hard to tell the difference between real characters and npcs
3. Anecdotal but the fact that everyone seems to have a different vision for how the adventures should be played out: Jax wants action and violence, ragatha just wants something stimulating and pomni wants something comforting; the fact that jax gets upset when his vision isn't fulfilled feels very similar to mishaps when maladaptive daydreaming
4. Glitches and the video game setting overall: Idk if its just me but in maladaptive daydreaming its very easy for the mind to wander or mess up, causing a “glitch” in the story which I think is very similar to the glitches in the show

5. The concept of VR itself is pretty much one step away from active escapism and although a bit of a stretch, I think the fact that the characters can’t take off their headset references their unwillingness to live in reality rather than actually being forced
6. Character behavior: How pomni goes from extremely weirded out to accepting and even slightly enjoying the circus feels very reminiscent of how it feels to first start maladaptive daydreaming as its an entirely odd thing to do but when you get into it it turns out to be fun and you keep doing it for hours. Ragatha is also interesting because she seems to ignore reality in favor of keeping herself sane, even ignoring devastating truths she realizes when she moves on from her mental breaks so quickly which is pretty much what maladaptive daydreaming is.
7. Exit: When pomni makes it to the exit and sees the desk setup with the headset, she began to lose her mind and instead of going forward to the next door she started going back (i think). I think this was her momentarily remembering how she felt like nothing in real life but in the circus she could be the main character (i think she struggled with feeling like nothing in the real world because of how much she brings it up and sympathizes with gummigoo, probably feeling like an npc irl) though either way she leaves the scene, likely not wanting to remember how her life was before.
8. Abstraction: Since we haven’t seen much of it Im still not completely sure but if I had to guess— I think abstraction is when you completely separate yourself from reality and live in a daydream full time since abstraction means “The quality of dealing with ideas rather than events” which is pretty much what escapism is; I think abstraction is likely a state of complete delusion as is hinted in the show by saying people who abstract are crazy
Overall I think the digital circus is probably either about escapism in general and/or a commentary on how we distract ourselves from serious topics almost as if we are children protecting ourselves from real life.

This is in response to some arguments in defense of the finale I've seen recently, and if you do believe these, then more power to you! But I disagree, and I'm gonna talk about why.
Rant under the cut. Fair warning, this gets pretty salty.
So I've seen a lot of arguments about how it just wouldn't be possible to have Adrien in the final battle, whether it be because it would be too traumatic for him and we can't explore that in the middle of a fight, or because it would take away focus from Marinette and she would be irrelevant ultimately. And I actually agree!
But what could possibly be done to resolve this? Oh, I know! Fucking write better.
If you were going to put Adrien in the position of being central to the story and write him out with the excuse that he can't live up to that role for various reasons, then why did you write him in that role? It's obvious to anyone that if Gabriel is Adrien's father, then the emotional weight of the conflict would be centered on him and not Marinette. Then why did you still write that into the show? If you wanted to focus on Marinette over Adrien anyway, then why did you make Gabriel be Hawkmoth? Let some other rando be Hawkmoth! And now there's no value to Gabriel being the villain beyond giving Marinette some material for her grand speech (which didn't do shit cause she still lost).
And if you were going to say that Adrien was too traumatized to be in the battle or that he wouldn't be able to deal with it well or that we couldn't see that... write around it? Have him deal with it before, or something, I don't know! Maybe give him that sweet sweet character development? Maybe let the friends who are supposed to support him actually do that? Idk man, this is all coming across as a bunch of excuses to me.
The thing is, this is a kids show. It's not real. The writers control everything that happens. It's not about "realism," it's about narrative payoff. It's about the most satisfying outcome. It's about character arcs. If Adrien was never supposed to face his father in a fight, then why make him a superhero? Could have just let him be Adrien the teen model love interest while Marinette is the superhero. Why give him powers which thematically represent him breaking free from his oppressive life and an enmity with his own father if it never mattered? If "it's us against the world, my lady," and "we'll get all the Miraculous back together," never mattered, then why include it? If two partners chosen to fight evil together and the yin-yang symbolism never mattered, why set it up?
If you set something up, you have a responsibility to deliver on it, and Miraculous failed. And yeah. I get that it's hard. I'm not saying writing is easy. But anything is better than this! Writing is your job, and I don't expect literal perfection, but I expect it to fulfill the basic expectations of writing. I expect it to at least be good. This is not good. They literally ignored their own story and themes and character arcs and narrative payoff because they wanted Marinette to get a swanky new outfit and a cool fight scene. It wasn't even for her character. It's just so that they can put give her a cool power-up and sell Bug Noire dolls. It's disrespectful to Adrien's character, and it's disrespectful to Marinette's character too.
The writers failed to make Marinette interesting in terms of the conflict with Gabriel. They gave all the set-up to Adrien and didn't want to write the payoff. There are no emotional stakes in the final battle. They literally only talk about Adrien, and he's not there for that. It's bad writing. And if they didn't let Adrien be a part of the arc with his father as the villain, what hope does he have in the arcs with Lila as the antagonist, since she is a Marinette-centric villain? TA has already said that Marinette is Barbie and Adrien is just Ken. The writers have said that Gabriel is considered a hero by the end of Season 5. The show bible says that Adrien will never find out that his father is Hawkmoth.
Let's face it, they aren't coming back to this. Gabriel's era is over. Miraculous is well known for setting up conflicts and dropping them like a hot potato. If we ever deal with this, it's gonna be half an episode of Adrien forgiving Marinette because "she did it out of love." None of this will matter come Season 6. The supposed conflict being set up now will matter to Season 6 as much as the Ladynoir set up in Strikeback with the "we'll take back all the Miraculous together, you and me," mattered to Season 5, which is to say not at all.

Why I think Layla might be related to Khaenri’ah !
she’s the only other character who’s sitting down in their artwork aside from Kaeya, who, in theory, is sitting down because he’s sitting on his throne as a the heir to Khaenri’ah’s royal throne. Her hair and the tassels on her wrists as well as the back of her cape are the four-pointed stars we see on every Khaenri’ahn related character. Also her circlet, or crown (pointing to royalty) has some of the stars and the shading in her hair also is in the shape of the stars in a lighter, grayer color- like Kaeya’s streak of gray hair, or Pierro’s streak of navy hair. She shares a similar enough color palette to Dainsleif and Kaeya and Pierro and maybe even Albedo if you squint. What if she’s another member, or maybe even a sage, of Khaenri’ahn royalty- also sitting on a throne. Especially a royal sage or consultant of some sort, seeing as her pose looks like she’s advising someone to do something.

So she’s a sleepy character who apparently has never experienced sleepwalk, and by a stretch, has never had a dream. In the Genshin trailer: Travail, way back, the one where they show a small glimpse of the nations, Dainsleif mentions that “there are those who dream of dreaming.” He also mentions that “Some say a few are chosen and the rest are dregs.” Now I’m really stretching, but what if what happens to her here in this description is connected- what if the stars descending on her paper was her being ‘chosen’- she also calls it “The star’s blessing”. Especially with the fact that she had just woken up from a restful nap- what if she had a dream during that nap, and as a Khaenri’ahn, allowed her to be blessed by these random stars???
ALSO @genshin-impact-updates said that her constellation is apparently called ‘Luscinia’ so i googled it and (copy pasted from wikipedia) Luscinia is a genus of smallish passerine birds, containing the nightingales and relatives. It also said this:
Now who else do we know is one eyed-?? Dain, Pierro, and Kaeya- all of them not only related to Khaenri’ah, but related to Khaenri’ahn royalty. I googled what nightingales symbolize, and apparently they symbolize a LOT like creativity and nature and melodies and mystery even???
I’ve also never seen a nightingale in my life but apparently they sing a lot at night so maybe she’s really supposed to symbolize some sort of magic or dreaming or stars or whatever as a Khaenri’ahn. At this point I’m really stretching but MY POINT IS BABE WAKE UP NEW KHAENRI’AH RELATED CHARACTER JUST DROPPED
Edit; I have something to add on the visual similarities between her and the other Khaenri’ahns we know. her hoodie/ veil is twisted to cover the right side of her face more than her left side. Just like Kaeya’s hair and eyepatch, as well as Pierro and Dain’s covered right sides. I think it’s a more subtle way of pointing to how Khaenri’ahns cover their eye just like their King Irmin mentioned in Hidden Strife.

the reaction Alicent’s ‘queer customs’ comment garnered is so fascinating because like... people were so cruel about her over it, but like... was she that wrong? was she?? was it that crazy for her to be disgusted with Rhaenyra - for her to basically go ‘you’re kinda fucked up for getting it on with your uncle in a brothel’. lmao. Alicent’s self-rightousness is a bit justified honestly, even if she goes a bit over the top with it. the Targs are fucked up its like their whole thing - they’re obsessed with their ‘dragons blood’ and maintaining their incestuous bloodline to keep their pet war machines sufficiently bound to them and like. that is WEIRD. that is fucked up. we’re supposed to think so. asoiaf has literally never presented the Targaryen dynasty and their incestuous tendencies as aspirational. and idk maybe its just me, but it actually doesnt seem like much of a character flaw to be disgusted when someone does something disgusting.
and then there’s the fact people will call Alicent a hypocrite for marrying Helaena to Aegon later... as if that choice wasn’t purely political. as if her hand weren’t clearly forced. it was what Targaryen tradition demanded of her. it would have been incredibly stupid to marry Helaena to Jace and with that off the table Aegon really was the only option - Targaryen girls are expected to marry their brothers if possible, especially when they’re the eldest siblings. if she hadn’t married them to each other a lot of people would have been confused tbh. (and i just know the same fans that call her a hypocrite would be commenting on how untargaryen and haughtily pious she and her children are for the lack of incest.) Alicent’s children had already been denied multiple symbols of legitimacy, from Aegon not being named heir to a desperate lack of cradle dragons. she had to give Aegon every symbol of legitimate kingship she could and the last two kings before Viserys married their sisters, as did the conquerer. it just wasn’t an option to have her children marry other people, even if she would have preferred it.
also, is it any wonder she wanted to keep Helaena close? of course she wanted her daughter where she could see her and know she was safe. Alicent was convinced there was going to be a war and marrying Aegon and Helaena was the best choice in light of that. for multiple reasons. she’s not a hypocrite, i will bet you literally any money she still thinks its weird and wrong, but she’s a woman who’s been backed into a fucking corner.

The Opening Sequence Pt 2 The Cemetery
Welcome back to the opening sequence breakdown. It only took me forever to get back to this thanks to con crunching (curse you Crowley's leather vest), split attention, and work. Today I will be, you guessed it cause you probably read the title, talking about the cemetery sequence.
Now there isn't too terribly much here, and I'm sure a lot of this has already been talked about. I've no doubt people were smart enough to already find all this.
But as I have no self control and am in fact procrastinating finishing my Crowley cosplay, here we are. I promise we'll get into some more....weird? Less noticeable??? I don't even know? Stuff as time goes on. We're just starting off with the basics cause it's easier on my brain.
So in the cemetery, we already know that Jim is hiding out behind some headstones next to the mausoleum they enter. Nothing too weird there, aside from the fact he's hiding. BUT WE'RE NOT HERE TO TALK ABOUT JIM.
Instead I'm here to talk about all the weird little things on the headstones. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if it's all already been found, I just personally haven't seen anyone talk about it?
We start off seeing this little mausoleum that says 'ARCHER' on it
Which we also see make an appearance in episode 3, when our beloveds are in Edinburgh.
(Did I start this draft then immediately drop everything to lighten/color correct all of season 2 episode three so I could see if there was anything in the background? Maybe...)
Then we have our lovely statue of the one and only beloved yet self absorbed Gabriel. Again, nothing too fancy.
And this little cross with an very interesting symbol on it right next to Gabriel. The symbol from a glance looks to be a money sign but when you take a closer look, I think it's actually three crosses? Or maybe one cross with two little lines on either side and a big 'S' slapped over top.
Then we have our 'Everyday' headstone which is of no surprise due to reoccurring song appearances in the season.
But then something else caught my eye while I was making this post that I didn't notice previously... See that little guy up in the corner of the everyday headstone?
Him?
yeah well idk who he's supposed to be but he's not the only one...
And then a third that is hidden behind a cross
Perhaps important characters? Or maybe a little hint about something that I don't know yet. Or maybe even just put there to fill in the background with no meaning....who knows.
Either way these gentlemen (or ladies) appear in the actual episode behind the Gabriel statue.
Then here we have two...stone caskets? Above ground graves? Where they both look the same, but one appears to be crossed out, maybe worn away with time, and you can't see the other because it's hidden by a headstone that says 'Peter Paintball.'
I have no clue who Peter paintball is. Maybe it's a reference to Season 1, or maybe it's someone on the crew or something. But I have no Earthly clue.
Moving on. As our boys continue their cemetery date with a trail of people and creatures and...objects? Behind them. We see the mastermind behind our Clerkenwell Diamond Robbery. Miss Austen herself.
I'm just as unphased at her name being in this cemetery as I am 'everyday.'
From here, I've had to do a lot of tweaking and playing with the lighting, and I won't lie, some things are still kind of...not quite able to be made out imo. So now we have...
A two for one that kind of leaves my brain churning questions like butter. I'll start with the more legible one.
"Here lies the former shell of Beelzebub."
I mean 'they're just such a little ray of sunshine' so of course this headstone makes sense. But also...why? What exactly does this mean. Like what's it referring to? I get that demons are dead inside which...mood. But could this possibly be referring to whoever Beelzebub was before falling? Or maybe the fact that Beelzebub feels some sort of happiness after meeting Gabriel and therefore the shell has been buried? I don't know. I just sit here and mull this over sometimes and maybe it's not a detail I should agonize over, but still.
Then we have 'here lies...Adam...' with the words underneath that I can only barely make out some of. I have tried fixing this so many different ways, and maybe it's just my lacking photo editing skills but still. I believe Neil has said this headstone is referring to Adam as in Adam and Eve? (Correct me if I'm wrong.) And if I squint I can make out....(from my best attempt at cleaning this up enough to see it)
"I do not understand, surely your very existence requires....of the world..."
Some of the words I can't make out, and the whole bottom line is a mystery to me because it's blocked entirely by the shadow that I can't fix.
Buuuuuut using my skills of deduction I'm going to assume this is a quote from Adam in the show? Gonna assume show and not book all things considered. (Upon further investigation it's Death who says this to Adam.) I can't remember. But the quote is something like
"I do not understand, surely your very existence requires the ending of the world. It is written."
Which...well hell that's a very interesting thing to put on a headstone (once again questioning which Adam Neil said that headstone belongs to...)
(Maybe it's a reference to Adam Young but Neil is saying he's not dead? Because he never actually confirms which Adam this is a reference to but I suppose it could be either considering it begins and 'ends' with an Adam.
But the thing I find really interesting is actually the headstone right next to it, also a take on something Death says in season 1.
'Left early to beat the rush.'
Which. Hell this one took me by surprise the first time I read it. Death says it to the mail man in Season 1 'Think of it as leaving early to beat the rush.'
And if I recall correctly (I don't know where the source is) Neil has said something similar about Terry? So for all I know this headstone could be a nod to Terry Pratchett....or it could be two very interesting Death quotes on back to back headstones.
Could the Adam one possibly be referring to the fact that Adam, by the end of season 1, technically reversed the end of the world? Or something along those lines? I just find it weird that amongst a bunch of (i'm using this word lightly) joke headstones we have two very intriguing Death quotes....
Finally, we have this little interesting bit on the side right here.
We have that symbol from before but a little clearer now...and? A head? There's a bust here in the corner in front of Gabriel.
At first glance it reminds me of the Gabriel angel statue...and maybe this is supposed to be Gabriel...But if you look a little closer...you can see a button up.
Now this is the best shot I can manage of it.
This looks specifically like Jim. Not Gabriel, but Jim. It's dressed similarly and I think that's his hairstyle. The face looks similar. I momentarily thought it might be Aziraphale or even Crowley but that wouldn't make sense...right?
So for now, I'm thinking that this is a bust of Jim. Very interesting considering Jimbriel is hiding right in front of it and there's a different statue of the Archangel Gabriel earlier in the cemetery....So what the heck is this all about...
Now if I missed any, or if any of the headstones in the background have writing that is hard to make out, let me know and I'll update this post.
But as I said before, I'm sure someone has already done this. Consider this a reference post, maybe let your gears turn a bit about some of the epitaphs because they're certainly some head scratchers if you ask me.

Revolutionary Girl Utena - S1 E3 "On The Night of the Ball" Part 1
Hi! I wrote this like a week ago, but had to stop mid-episode. I'll point out where things are new!
Pre-episode thoughts:
1. Cinderella references to be expected? or just a take on the idea of a ball? a school dance through fancy symbology? who knows!
2. I just need to reiterate how much I love this music. Not a single miss yet.
3. I wonder if I'm completely missing everything or if I'm vaguely on the right track(or as much as you can be with two episodes so far), and I am willing to hear vague opinions on it.
Without further ado, the episode
Clearly, Utena needs to discover the power of lesbianism. Anthy, can you save this poor repressed homosexual?
More seriously, this series is even realistically gay! Outside of jokes. I am so glad.
Aren't you in high school? and in your last year? I am excited to see on where the (intentional, presumably) creepiness is going.
Sooner backhands then expected. At least she isn't putting up with his shit.
So I guess the rings are signs of having any actual agency in the plot? Considering the rose symbolism though, I have to assume that agency comes with a catch.
Considering the prince is clearly black, probably not. Also because I'm fairly sure that was the magic figure last episode, which I think was in the actual magic, which makes me assume the mysterious Dios? or someone else connected to him besides Anthy, which would make me guess her brother from what I've heard.
What's with the repetition so much? I think part of it is the semi-episodic nature of the show and saving budget, but it also seems thematic. Time loop, or just time fuckery? who knows!

Saionji I expect no better from you. I wish you hell. The shadow here is interesting though, considering how big it is. Is it meant to just be showing Anthy having a secret, happenstance, or what?
Yellow roses apparently mean friendship and joy, but besides that, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?!? Like, is this meant to showcase her role as a princess? Or that Anthy is imagining her doing this? That this is her front? WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!?

soo true what you said. there's no way all of these choices were made by accident. they wrote it, approved it, filmed it, edited it... they know exactly what they're doing to us. and there's also no way buck and eddie would be a family like this but not a couple if they were a man and a woman. it's been YEARS of romancing
Nonnie, you're simply speaking the honest to God truth. IDK that I have anything to add, I just know the same thing you do, that if one of them were a woman, EVERYONE would expect a romance. Even a case of unrequited love. But SOMETHING where the feelings aren't just platonic. I can give you Station 19 for example. The second Vic started helping Dean with his daughter, the second they were functioning as a family (and I would argue S19 has shown that even less than 911 has shown it with Buddie), I KNEW where this was going. And indeed, Dean eventually realizes he has feelings for her.
Even if two characters aren't originally meant to have feelings for each other, if there is enough chemistry and build up, and the audience seems to react positively to the idea of a couple, show makers sometimes change course to go with the treasure they accidentally stumbled across. I can think of Emma and Hook on Once Upon a Time as an example. I'm convinced Emma was supposed to end up with Neal, everything about the build up, story structure, symbolic significance of the characters was pointing to that, but Emma's chemistry with Hook was so much better, the fans loved them. And while Emma and Hook's initial interactions were just meant to have him be a minor obstacle on the way to Emma and Neal's endgame, those scenes ended up serving as a part of the build up for Emma and Hook turning into endgame. Anyway, my point is that even if Buddie had been accidental at first, if one of them were a woman, I have no doubt the show would have embraced turning them into canon enthusiastically. 911 still might. For all we know, maybe 618 is NOT the finale they planned for if the show would have been canceled, and maybe the original s6 finale would have allowed Buddie to go canon. We don't know. We might never know. But I know what trajectory Buddie would have had sooner or later if one were a woman, I have no doubt about that one.

Aitsf and AINI spoilers ofc
Date will come back looking like Falco wearing a Vochlocho with the Greg Chun voice in it
It is revealed that Horadori Institute’s sole sperm donor was So Sejima
I scared myself with this one, this sounds like something that would actually 100% happen
Meaning Iris and Mizuki would be bio half-sisters
So gets murdered finally
And the detectives are like uh oh, we have no leads, the killer could’ve literally been anyone ever
Date and Hitomi actually spend time together and reconnect fr and it’s good
Iris’s next somnium is Among Us themed
She witnesses something important, but her somnium hides it under a puzzle where we have to do tasks and correctly identify the impostor that symbolizes what actually happened. The AI ball is crewmate-shaped like Shovelforge Aiba
We’ll be able to play as Marco/Maruko

Another iteration of that hilarious highway scene where all the psyncers are driving to the same destination in their own ridiculous vehicles instead of everyone just going in the limo. Or would it be funnier if they were all in one car? How about both in one game.
In AI1 they said there were six psyncers at ABIS. We’ve met Date, Ryuki, and Bibi, plus Mizuki, so there must be at least three other psyncers and AI balls we haven’t met yet.
The game title will obviously be full of puns so what if AI3 (AI san) is about the first psyncer and AI ball? I’m not thinking a prequel, but it could explain the origins of ABIS and be related to the first case solved using psyncing.
It’d be neat if the main character is a more senior detective, like maybe a Jane Marple type figure. It would be cool to see an old protagonist since the end of VLR
Idk what Marco/Maruko’s gender settings are supposed to be since Marco is a masculine name and Maruko is feminine, but I hope we get a male AI-ball in general
What tacky vehicles would the new character(s) ride? A convertible? Badass futuristic motorcycle?
The English title will have the number 3 represent the letter E and “AI” somewhere in it. Perhaps they will use <3 to reference ai as in love

i see a lot of disagreement about whether cece (i've seen some people spell this as cici but idk which is right sorry) is implied to be six or raincoat girl from VLN, and i wanted to defend the six one a bit.
"the raincoat did not originally belong to six, so otto's recognition of it means that he might have known rcg or a previous owner of the raincoat"
this is a good point, but i think that the ties to six are more prominent with what we have so far. i find the specificity of the dialogue interesting too. upon noone mentioning that she saw a "yellow raincoat" on one of the mannequins, otto perks up at the mention of yellow, not a raincoat. this leaves more ambiguity, it's possible six just is a fan of yellow. maybe that's why she gravitates toward duck toys, maybe it factors into her wearing the raincoat initially, she is nine after all.
the ferryman
the role the ferryman plays makes me think that the audience is supposed to latch onto a connection to six. "the ferryman" is what the audience knows him as, because we have seen him interact with her. with otto claiming that he is " cece's ferryman,” it feels like a direct reference to the audience's knowledge of the character, which could easily be reflected in universe by our old protagonist.

this one is less solid and more like speculation, but we don’t really know if six “wakes up” in between nightmares like noone offscreen, or if she accepted the ferryman’s invitation and is permanently trapped in the nowhere. i lean heavily towards the second, hence why this section is just speculation on if the first one is true. we know that the nowhere isn’t just some dream lair, it’s it’s own world that the kids are physically taken to. based on noone describing herself wearing a dress in the first episode, it’s implied that LN kids get taken whatever they are wearing in their realm, the nowhere doesn’t give them a costume switch. if kids don’t get a new wardrobe upon entering the nowhere, who’s to say the new clothes they acquire in it wouldn’t also transfer over when they woke up? noone straight up disappearing in the night implies that the nowhere isn’t too interested in being discreet about kidnapping the kids and changing them either, so i can see this being a defense for the raincoat to be recognized by otto. i don’t actually believe this one much, but it’s fun to speculate.
time
this is actually a good point against the cece = six theory that i haven’t seen mentioned yet, but to me, one of the most chilling reveals in the final episode was that otto is the younger brother. The whole time I expected him to be older, but otto being younger than cece implies that she didn’t just go missing a long time ago, she went missing a LONG time ago. if the six we are used to seeing is still mentally and physically a nine year old, how do we connect her to cece’s age?
my answer would be that i think six is no longer a kid in the nowhere, i think that the podcast/LN3 and any future installments of LN are set after what we have seen so far. i’ve always thought that if a third game was ever made and six made an appearance, she’d be the sixth lady (in terms of power at least), not the version of her we know. six’s arc as a child has concluded by the end of LN1, she’s a part of the nowhere now. narratively, i don’t see a reason for her to be explored further at that stage of life. when noone is in the room with all the mannequins, she notes that they are past victims of the nowhere. and while the raincoat could represent rcg’s death in that context, i think it represents both. six also fell to the nowhere, the ending of LN1 is not happy.
promotional material for LN3 also mentions something “lurking in the shadows” and heavily features a mirror; both of which have been connected to the lady’s powers in the past. this isn’t to say that they 100% are meant to symbolize her, but i think the connection is worth noting when we talk about LN3’s placement in the timeline. i could talk longer about why i think any further appearances of six are likely to be older, but this isn’t about that so i’ll stop yapping.
conclusion
sorry if this is like incomprehensible, i’m used to screaming my LN tangents at my poor non LN fan friends in DMs and not posting them lol so forgive me for the weirdness. basically i’m still not entirely convinced thar six = cece, but i wanted to defend the theory from people writing it off completely. from the ferryman, the color yellow, the timeline, “six” and “cece” starting with similar sounds, “cecilia”, (which cece is a nickname for) meaning “sixth”, and the fact that the podcast has six episodes, i think the audience is at the very least encouraged to make the connection to six, whether or not it’s a red herring.

I forget if you're still open for ideas about this, but you're doing rosaries for each of the Pevensie kids, right? If so (and if you can, I don't know what resources you have lol 😅) your color schemes might royal colors, like royal red, royal blue, royal purple, royal green, etc., each with a gold or silver accent color (like matching their crowns in the movie, Peter and Susan have gold, Edmund and Lucy have silver. Or tbh you could accent their colors with just gold to symbolize their shared royalty and that they're all siblings). Or something like that, this message was a lot shorter in my head 😅

I originally wanted to go with the colors of their coronation outfits at the end of the first movie, but they all were mostly blue and I want my rosaries to be distinctly different so I was trying to think of colors that kind of represented them as entire characters instead of just a single scene and this is what I have
Peter: red hail beads with gold crown decades (I found the cutest crown beads on Amazon!!)
Edmund: I can't decide if I wanna do dark green or dark blue hail beads but either of those with silver crown decades
Susan: if I don't do dark blue for Ed I'd probably use it for Susan, or I was thinking maybe a light blue or lavender or even a plum purple for the hail beads with gold crown decades (I can't remember now if Susan wore a lavender dress in the movies or if I'm confusing her for Anna Popplewell's character in Reign but I think she looks very nice in purple)
Lucy: I think I like either a burnt orange or an autumny yellow for the hail beads with silver crown decades
And and!!!! I found gold lion head beads that I wanna use for Aslan's rosary!!! I also have an idea for a Cair Paravel rosary but I'm not sure if Hobby Lobby will have the exact beads I want (this is the only one where I'm like "it has to be PERFECT it has to be EXACT if I can't get what I want I just won't make it!" and idk why lol). I also have an idea for Caspian's but it's written down on a paper downstairs and I don't wanna go get it because spooky but if I remember correctly he's getting a...silver crown? Idk idk to be figured out or remembered later
I think I'm getting way too invested in this because I've been thinking a lot about the possibilities especially a kind of matchies similar set of rosaries that are based off their coronation outfits (having them all be blue but with the different accent colors like they do in the movie, Ed's being silver, Peter's yellow, Susan's dark blue, and Lucy's orange) and like idk man I wanna do this it makes me happy but what am I going to do with all these rosaries I already have a collection of them I don't need more 😭😂 I'm kiiiindaaaa maaaayyybbbeee considering trying to sell them on Etsy but idk it's a lot to think about and honestly I just wanna make them because I have a vision and for some reason the work relaxes me which is weird because it's the exact thing that I think would do the complete opposite but making them just feels right it feels like when I write like I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing if that makes sense. Kinda dramatic though lol
Anyway sorry to ramble I'm just super excited about it!!!! The all royal color idea is giving me so many mental images and I might have to do more Pevensie sets than I originally thought I would! I'm gonna have more than a dozen rosaries made before I even move onto other fandoms!!!

omg stella btw i have two new ocs they’re called beatrice ardovini & atlas caron & here is their premise;
dria goes to work at a magic school in the us in her ‘season two’ after the main vsor plot. this school is run by beatrice & atlas, two very argumentative individuals who have extreme differences of opinions on the regular. dria’s aunt stella recommended her for the teaching job to the two of them, so she’s a little bit in nepo baby fashion closer to the two than the rest of the teachers. so, dria is the first to discover
that beatrice and atlas are, in fact, married
and they have two twin five year old daughters, lætitia and honorine.
they have an AMAZING marriage. like their workplace arguments are dumped at the door and then they get home and have the most insanely loving marriage and are incredible parents. then they get to school again and are fangs bared #evilface towards each other!!! their separation of work & home is truly unmatched.

for beatrice you could really lean into her being a fire mage but in a way that isn't neccessarily just RED COLOUR PALLETTE!! RED RED RED!! you know
fire is dangerous so i associate angular shapes with it. this could translate into beatrice being rather thin and bony. sharp cheek bones, narrow nose, bony fingers etc. piercing gaze. thin, well defined eyebrows but!! fire is also strong obviously so i think her being really big and buff could work just as fine, since there's still a harshness to defined muscle.
now fire is also warm and nurturing and has kept humanity alive for millenia!! so there's a softness to it. this could be reflected by giving her big, soft eyes. maybe really voluminous hair. or make her muscles not quite as defined, maybe they're partly hidden under a layer of fat. so she'd still be super strong physically but her sillhouette would appear softer and combine both these aspects of fire.
uhmmm what else. fire is wild i suppose? so you could give her not only voluminous hair, but make it wild as well. tough to manage, hard to style. this could tie in with her being a (pressumably) stressed academic. you could have that wildness reflected in her style as well!! maybe have her wear punk or goth clothing? i think that would be a fun contrast to how most academic characters dress in media :3
for atlas maybe some name symbolism? i'm sure you know the greek myth. something something atlas forced to carry the sky (uranus) for all eternity to keep the earth (gaia) safe something something. so i think an earthy brown colour pallette with some light blues (sky -> air -> blue).
either like. a flowy wardrobe? clothes lightweight and long. thin scarves. long cardigans or coats or whatever. uhh long skirts and dresses maybe? or wide pants. FLOWY!! LIGHT!!

a really solid wardrobe? when i say solid i mean like. hiking gear lol. (because like. earth=rocks=mountains=hiking in my mind). secure shoes with thick soles but not heavy. maybe even boots. pants with lots of compartments. like cargo pants or sth similar. uhhh rain coat lmaooo. listen you could make atlas a walking fashion disaster i think that would be funny.
maybe you could even find a way to combine the two? or of course you could always go with more of a hippie style too? definitely ties into earth and sky
for body you could again go with somebody physically strong because that's just associate with earth (in my mind at least) but i'm not sure. for hair you could go either long and (i'm trying not to say flowy again but arrggghghgg). flowy. again, because air. lol. ORRRR idk if you have a race or ethnicity in mind yet but if you make atlas black you could have him wear it mostly natural to be reminiscient of clouds :3

“Unhappy Campers” review
Blitzo and co. go on a job at Earth, and WE GET A MILLIE EPISODE!!!
It’s been forever since we saw I.M.P. on Earth doing their job, so it’s nice to see them back at it. Hopefully we can get more Earth based episodes soon. We still need to find out what happened to Cletus, Keenie, and Collin.
Is Blitzo going to see Stolas?
Is the nurse’s appearance supposed to be a Nabnab/Nabnaleena reference?
Blitzo is trying to see his sister! Makes sense why he is in Sloth since we did hear from Verosika that she was in rehab.
Hell’s equivalent to Google is called Gaggle.
Though I’m sure they were like job representatives or people at places Barbie use to work at, I wonder if there is still a chance the people Blitzo was talking to on his phones were “friends”/informants of his.
Now we get to the scene everyone wants to see. Though funny I wished there was a scene explaining that Moxxie had no choice and had to wear the female disguise as I have this headcanon that Millie usually doesn’t get along with other girls to a point said girls end up in the hospital, hence why Moxxie had to fill in the role while Millie talked to the boys.
Aww Millie is such a great wife, though it would have been nice to see her assertive side when it comes to the job.
Finally someone points out the gang’s demonic traits.

It’s nice to see that though they are a perfect couple, Moxxie and Millie do have arguments. I also like to think Millie’s speech is slightly symbolic of how usually she is kind of in the background and doesn’t have that many moments compared to the things Blitzo, Moxxie, and even Stolas have gone through. Yes I know about Vivzie saying HB is guy character centered while HH will be lady character centered but I still wanted to point it out.
The Asmodeon Crystal in action! And of course since its related to the demon of lust, the first one we actually see is inappropriate.
Wouldn’t saying a demon having the “voice of an angel” be insulting? Maybe its ones of the few things related to heaven that is okay/tolerated in demon society like when Blitzo said Oh God in annoyance. I defiantly could see Lucifer describing Lilith and Charlie like this.
The writers missed out on the perfect chance for Blitzo to say that he didn’t want Moxxie to stop ridding him XD. I mean that scene must have been a dream come true for Blitzo.
I know it’s to hide her horns, but Barbie’s human hair looks like something Velvette would stylize her hair as.
Since Blitzo just said that things like Heroin isn’t as dangerous to demons, I’m guessing that H-8 thing he said a drug that IS deadly for demons.
Barbie just said it’s easy to manipulate humans, so why would losing him be that bad? Is she just lazy?
I just noticed how Barbie has a similar head tattoo as Blitzo, but it’s crossed out.
IDK if it’s just me, but I feel like Moxxie is fighting better here.
In the scene where Millie is crowd surfing, is the girl in the purple dress with ponytail girl a reference to the Baby Doll villain from Batman: The Animated Series?
Nice to see Moxxie and Millie make up, but did they have to mentally scar the whole camp XD. Heck even the episode’s subtitles are trying to help with that.

Sleeping Loona!
Did anyone notice any Friday the 13th or Gravity Fall references in the episode? I feel like the caps the campers could be but still.
Well that was another nice casual episode, especially since it was a Millie episode. After all this time it was nice seeing our favorite Imp lady get some focus, and since Sallie Mae is coming back soon hopefully we can get another one exploring her life before she met Moxxie.
I also like how though Blitzo had to be in the episode he did his own thing for most of the episode that didn’t involve the others being close by, something I have brought up before in previous episodes. It’s also nice that we got a hint at his relationship with Barbie, sure some might say she deserved more screen time but at least we got a basic understanding of what could have happened, and I bet we will get more on it in the Fizz and Blitzo flashback episode.
The only flaw the episodes had was how dumb and selfish Moxxie was in the episode. Sure the episode needed something like this to happen so Millie can get her screen time and for the conflict between them to happen, but I don’t see why the writers couldn’t have done this while still having Moxxie gather info to find the culprit like he wanted. Maybe it would have made the plot stronger as Moxxie would have also been annoyed that Millie hasn’t gathered any info from the campers and it was just lucky that he was able to narrow down the possible culprits.
We are almost halfway done with season 2, and it’s likely the next 2 episodes will heavily be centered on Fizz and his past with Blitzo. I think the next episode will be the one where Fizz and Ozzie perform in the Greed Ring, only for something to happen that is followed up in the flashback episode about the day Fizz and Blitzo stopped being friends, again maybe we find out why Barbie hates Blitzo in it as well.

Dead City 1x01: Old Acquaintances and 1x02: Who's There?
So, I didn't do a post about the first episode of Dead City last week. (Can I just point out that the abbreviation for Dead City is D.C.? As in, Beth's D.C. spoon?)
The pilot episode was fine, but it was setting up the story, and we didn't see a ton of symbolism or Beth callbacks in it. Episode 2 this week was a different story.
Here is just a little bit of discussion about ep 1:

I finished that Dead City a little while ago. It's the pilot episode, some interesting things but they're just laying the groundwork, trying to get the story started which is very much expected. I just want to mention two things .
One is about Herschel. We knew that this is supposed to be a few years after the take down of CW. I'm just questioning tptb thinking in choosing their young actors for whatever age they're supposed to be, they change so rapidly that it would make more sense to me to have kept the original Herschel because the new replacement is obviously a few years older and yet, I swear by the end of the sixth episode he'll look like he's ready to be married with children, haha.
Okay, maybe not quite that bad but I'm just looking at this young man thinking he is going to age up real quick. They've already basically said that they'll be other seasons, that this is just the first, so obviously Herschel will be aging rapidly and I don't know if it will match the timeline going forward.
First there was the all the empty chairs in s11 then we had the green empty chair in Fear. In dead City near the start of it we see Negan with a motorcycle on one side of him and this empty chair on the other. Coincidence I'm sure. That empty chair nor that motorcycle doesn't has anything to do with the plot of the episode, so I'm not giving anything away, but it's a visual that I suspect Gimple had something to do with it.

I am looking at the caption under Negan though in that picture. Who’s he talking to? Is there someone named Ginny in DC?
Also idk why they keep casting weirdly old characters in TWDU. It’s not typical for them and I’m wondering if maybe there was some new rule or by-law passed by SAG or something to do with child actors and they can’t cast anyone under the age of like 13, or they can but it’s a major pain so they’re just asking us to suspend our disbelief.

You'll find out who Ginny is pretty quickly. I won't go into it, not that it would spoil anything, but I think we'll see more of her going forward. She doesn't appeared to have a big purpose, which tells me that her character must have a purpose going forward.

I enjoyed the episode. There are things they're holding back to lead us along, I hope this isn't too big of a spoiler, but we don't find out about Annie or the baby. I think we probably won't for a while.

Just finished watching DC. I actually really liked this episode (minus all the intestine-spillage). I thought there were quite a few Beth callbacks in it. My favorite line? Maggie spun some yarn about "Canada and a shipwreck." 😱

When Maggie mentioned Canada, I immediately thought of Tales. That he was headed to Canada. Of course, the shipwrecked parts stood out because well you know...
You guys know how bad I am with names so just excuse me. The girl that was originally with Negan who is being watched over by the group (I guess Maggie's group) while Maggie and Negan are away, they brought her to what is the kids’ school and was introduced by saying that she was from Oceanside. I'm wondering where this group of people, this community that Maggie and Herschel have been with is located.

Yeah, I don't know. Obviously, she isn't gonna just stay put and wait for Negan, so it will be interesting to see what her storyline is. When she left in the night, she went over to a bike. That's all we saw, but still. Bicycle symbolism.
Negan told a story about a girl "holed up in a car." He said she was "just a kid." Sounds like she was tortured and killed by the Croat eventually, but still. Negan then talked about having "one shot" and "missing." He was talking about the bad guy, rather than the girl, but they were all related, and it felt like a Beth parallel to me.
Then there was the part when the Marshal went into that apartment. I got such heavy WHAWGO vibes. There was the picture of the two brothers.
They weren't twins, but they were situated spatially in the photo the same way Noah's twin brothers were, and the way Robert Patrick's character and his twin brother were. Finding the dead guy, one of the brothers, in there felt similar to finding Noah's brothers.
And then there was the rosary he laid over him. We did see one of those with Carol at the end of S6, but Beth wore the original around her wrist at Grady. Oh, and the Marshal covered him with a blanket, much like Bethyl did to the Rich Bitch walker, and like Daryl almost did for Len, before changing his mind.
Even Maggie and Negan being imprisoned in the bathroom jumped out at me. I've harped on bathrooms since S4 when Rick escaped the Claimer house through the bathroom, and the walker that came after Carl in the pudding house (the one he shot in the forehead in the EXACT place Beth was shot) came out of the bathroom.
I also thought of The Same Boat. That wasn't a bathroom per se, but it was filmed on the same set as Saw, which featured a gross bathroom, toilet and all, and had a man who was presumed dead suddenly stand up and reveal himself to be alive at the end.
That may be all I have for now. I didn't really take notes, so I'm doing this from memory.
Negan had some funny lines. I loved his "how about everyone just untwist their undies." They featured it on the after-the-episode part, so I heard it twice, and laughed both times.
I also thought the flashback between Maggie and Hershel was super interesting. Not sure where they're going with that, but I look forward to learning more.
What do you think the purpose was of Maggie not making it all the way across the chasm? That seemed too purposeful to not foreshadow something, but nothing really came of it here. Just had me wondering.

It's hard to tell right now because they're just lying and foundation for the series, I did appreciate the description of the three (3) separate groups. I didn't take notes either, but I was so glad the showrunner/writer explained what was going on.
When Negan was talking about the girl in the car, I immediately thought of Beth. Not that I thought he was talking about Beth, but I felt that that was purposely put in to give a nod to us. I don't know that there will be any clues that would lead to anything about Beth in this spinoff, but I do think that they will sprinkle reminders throughout.
I have the same feelings as you did when I saw the bathroom, that it was a reminder of Same Boat.
That scene where Maggie was somewhat freezing up as the Walkers were coming at her and she was so hesitant to use the zip line, then got hung up. It did seem kind of purposeful and I was trying to wreck my brain to whether or not we had known she has a fear of heights, kind of like Carol in the caves in s10 with it being a reminder that Carol was claustrophobic, but I couldn't remember anything from Maggie's past. It might be something in recent years (in the show) that we will find out later about.

I was getting some screenshots for it. That always reveals new things to me because I'm watching more closely, instead of casually. It's nothing super groundbreaking, but I saw some interesting things, and a few insights on what we've already discussed.
First, the thing where Maggie didn't make it across on the zip line. Rewatching that part, I realized that the physics reason for why that happened is because she hesitated. She was clearly frightened of the distance down, and didn't want to just go for it. Her foot literally slips off the box, so she doesn't get the same momentum Negan and the first lady did. That's why she didn't make it to the other side. I still think that's a foreshadow, tho. Maggie being hesitant rather than going for it, and something goes wrong or something bad happens because of it.
The scene with the marshal we compared to WHAWGO? Watching it a second time, I realized it doesn't explain why he went there or how he knew to go there. He went looking for a gun, but it was gone. All he found was the box the gun used to be in. But how would he know it was there?
I think it's obvious he had been there before and knew the man who's body he found. That's probably why he covered him up: because he knew him. I'm wondering now if he, the marshal, is the second brother in the pictures. If so, that means he left his brother behind at some point. Between that, covering him up, and laying the rosary over him, it's an even more potent parallel to Beth.
Also, in that scene, he sees the corpse of his brother first in a mirror. I didn't catch that at first. So, it's a mirror image and then he turns and goes into the brother's room. Just kind of interesting.
And then about the girl--Ginny right?--who was with Negan? Something is bothering her about the water barrel. It's at Maggie's community, and like 3 different times she stops and stares at it, including at the end just before she steals the bike to leave. No idea what it means, but the fact that it's a water thing caught my attention. That's all. ;D

6. How do you pick names for NPCs?
same way i pick names for ocs of mine! if theyre not a one off npc or one off turned main npc then i search for a name that has a meaning relevant to who they are as a character! (swords's last name is lyon and her symbolic animal is a lion... winifreds name means reconciliation, giving her a fun ironic twist since she wants to KILL her ex husband soso bad lol) but if theyre a one off then typically i just generate the name using this american name generator and pick something i think fits the character at hand!
the only one that doesnt fit in either here is jacques who as i belief i said is named off of my old cat with the same name <3
8. What kinds of NPC (personality, class, culture, age, whatever occurs to you!) tends to be your favorite to make and/or play?
i really enjoy fucked up dudes!!!! if it werent obvious from my ocs... this was supposed to be a lighter campaign but i really love tragedy and making people have OBVIOUS issues and its fun to have stuff with those play out with the players, sometimes even being used to bounce off the players! also i like magic users. theyre fun. or people involved with the gods of this world! i think i really really enjoy making people who give off lore hints or just straight up tell you interesting stuff about the world c:

oh this is a hard one... if we mean in context of the world itself like in that world then i would have to say speciallest girl ever henrietta but also not really bc theres also vanya.... hmmmmmmm but out of context i would have to say probably daggers, swords or dr. shi, i feel like those three have a good spread of not being too like many of my other ocs! (daggers having lots of image issues and being outwardly guilt trippy and feminine, swords being impulsive and almost like a shonen character, and dr shi being very monotone and intelligent (i like my dumbasses) plus all three have big as hell prides, they think they are HOT shit)

14. Most likely to be on a reality show?
HARD TO TELL... first instinct is to say daggers or swords bc those two interact with media enough to want to go onto a reality show (or henrietta bc shes. you know. leader of the old rebellion imagine the numbers that could do for the show) but i think final answer would be delilah bc not only would she LOVE to be on tv but she would like have an AWESOME time

ouhhh hard one here but id probably say first of all vanya bc my russian accent skills are NOT there. but in terms of personality and roleplaying in general not just speaking as them then probably wiz or daggers! both have to have an incredible amount of balance, in daggers's case its so that she is nuanced and not an annoying caricature considering my concept for her and with wiz its just . not revealing some things too early and not revealing some things too late, plus hes the quest giver and PLUS idk why but doing his voice gives me troubles. this is all ironic bc he is like. one of my favorite npcs lmao (hes better in writing IMO)

oh interesting... this is like having to say i hate one of my children i really never dislike any characters i create i just get agonies over them tbh but if i HAD to choose one..... hmmm probably vanya and/or richter, i really enjoy them conceptually but i feel like i fumble them too much and their story, while interesting and exciting in the beginning, became a bit more extraneous as time went on ! but really its not by much that i dislike them, i really love every npc i make

29. Are there any NPCs you wish you could play as a PC one day?
wiz probably fits most closely into the type of pc i would create for a game like this! however if i would want to be more fun more creative then i would actually really like to play jacques or vanya, mostly because they also are the types of characters i would make and they are easily translateable into a pc for this specific campaign (both in stat ways and in story ways!) as for a complete wildcard i think also playing as someone closer to the religion of this campaign (swords, rhys, etc) would be very interesting ! but im sure if i were to recycle a character concept from this game i would not expect who i would choose in the future...

oh god an open ended q ummm this is really the hardest question ever . i will give you a few little tidbits abt characters not on their toyhouse and not like fully really talked abt i tink...
Vanya is based on a character from dungeon meshi and originally followed this characters plot way more closely before i changed her up! not saying who tho
hook and rex came out to each other at the exact same time (as trans).... it was really funny and they almost immediately did a fun little clothes swap :)
even though wiz has his 50 ft vision, sometimes bc of habit when hes in his house he wont use it and if he has a guest he will often times get spooked by them... he feels silly after it happens every time lol
jacques is bisexual. also has never dated anyone ever. (he feels like its weird to date anyone from the village hes from bc everyones kinda like family there...)
rhys and the griffin god priest (mr hightower) have actually met once on occasion, they found each others company very enlightening but will not meet again ever
