why the fuck does math exist

Never really pegged myself as a slow burn type, and when I was writing these big pieces of Simple Math I was like "25k words and no kiss? 30k words and still no kissing? 40+ thousand fucking words and... oh good. Fucking finally." It really made me feel a certain type of way, like I had earned it or something. I kind of liked it.

Made up a reason for myself that tim doesn't age because of shenanigans when he went looking for Bruce when he got lost in time. Makes no sense but keeps me sane a little 👍

See I just say Tim is a chronic liar (bc you know he is) so he's just keeps saying he's 17 years old bc if people find out he's actually 19 they're also gonna ask questions like "what are you doing with you're life?" "Got a job yet?" "Why are you fighting with a twelve year old?"

It’s something only kinda implied but I love how Junpei is really smart and actually does know random bullshit information like everyone else does but he just like. Doesn’t use it unless he wants to end an argument

The timeline for the Wednesday show is pissing me off. Keep in mind that I haven't watched the show since it came out, but I thought I had a pretty good handle on the timeline of events. I was mostly right, but what I got wrong, and what has been pissing me off, is the calendar.

The show follows 2021's (The year in which it was being filmed) Calendar. I thought it was following 2022's calendar. Y'know, the time in which it was SET. The main thing about this that is pissing me off are the moon phases. Specifically, the blood moon in the final episode. 2022's was on Nov 8, while 2021's was on Nov 19.

Not only that, but I honest to god only ever remembered the fact that her birthday was on Friday the 13th, and so assumed bc Addams that it was in October, rather than November. So, my Fic's timeline is incorrect and I'm trying my best to not worry about it. Hopefully getting my frustrations out in this post will help.

okay, as someone who has always hated math (for the sake of math, i love physics) because i grew up with a math prodigy who thinks that math is literally the only important thing ever, but was nonetheless always “good at math” in my own right (i didn’t teach myself calculus at age seven but i always got 100% on psets), i totally get that.

azula is the math sibling, and therefore zuko does not even bother attempting it. he could probably comprehend it fine if he wanted to, but the thought of trying to do something that azula can already do effortlessly is so upsetting for him. even basic arithmetic, he’s just like “i don’t do that.” katara is the same way. if math needs to happen, that is sokka’s job. after all, everyone is always praising him for how good he is at doing math. therefore it is not her problem. would zuko and katara be good at math if they did not have insufferable math prodigy siblings? who’s to say. as it is, this is them on a daily basis:

Cleric!Durge is so good. Like imagine a young Durge who starts worshipping Selune (or any other god) as a way to stave off their urges, thinking they can be “cured” if they try hard enough. But obviously that fails (thanks dad) and their faith becomes more and more of a facade. Before they know it, they’re just going through the motions but their faith is practically nonexistent. And of course, none of this is helped once their Butler comes on scene and leads them to papa dearest’s cult.

But then, once their memories are lost, Durge holds onto the fleeting vestiges of their forgotten faith. They think they’re a loyal cleric, but still feel uneasy for some reason. But they continue to try being the “good cleric” people want, even at the expense of their own health (by resisting the urges).

And of course, this is all made better if Durge is a cleric of Selune and romances Selunite!Shadowheart. I mean…two people who lost their memories, serve a corrupt god who is using them, AND are starcrossed due to their goddesses’ hatred for one another. Sign me up. And then, they find one another in the darkest moments of their lives, help each other overcome their traumas, and go on together to find their true faith in Selune after all. Also!! going to help Shadowheart build a house for her parents in the end? They are in love, your honor🥺😳

poll time! stewy is most often portrayed as an only child in fics, but i'm curious to see how widespread that hc is. the appeal of the only child hc seems to be making him more of a foil to kendall/the other roys, who are eternally caught up in their sibling war. but of course, in the sibling show, the other side also has stuff to offer to.

i've also noticed a smaller trend of fics showing stewy being raised as an only child, but technically having siblings that he didn't grow up with for whatever reason - age gaps, half siblings, family estrangement, or death of a sibling are some of examples i've seen.
