„You will have to tell them I am sorry, for I have no sorrow left“
Katya is such an amazing character, I had to draw her. So happy Goncharov is trending, more people should watch this movie

I've seen a lot of people claiming that goncharov by Martin Scorsese isn't real: just cause you can't find it on one of the big streaming sites doesn't mean you can't watch it

So glad I’m not on Twitter. Saw them arguing that Goncharov is dumb because it’s isn’t realistic to Martin Sorcese style. Girl it’s a lie- learn to have fun

Upon my recent rewatch of Goncharov (1973) i just now realised that Katya NEVER calls Goncharov by his first name. The only time in the whole movie she calls him by his first name is at the end of the movie in the betrayal scene. The same goes for Goncharov who calls Katya Katya for the duration of the movie, he never calls her Yekaterina,,, EXCEPT at the end of the movie!! Suggesting that in that moment they are the most real and honest with each other than they've been during their time togheter, and eventhough the theme of the scene is the betrayal it also (finally) conveys a deep sense of understanding between the two karakters about how they ended up in this situation. And I think that this duality between betrayal, understanding, acceptance and the different themes of love (looking at Sofia and Andrey) really make the this scene and end the movie on an exceptionally strong note!
They ran out of time, but is it really that bad? I would't say so to be honest because now (the surviving karakters atleast) can start their lives anew without this weight.
This movie is just so beautifully crafted! The care, attention and level of detail! and don't even get me started on all of the hidden symbolism! Definitely one of my favourite if not my favourite movie ever!
