Fun fact

I work at a Renaissance Faire

And sometimes customers will bring little trinkets to give the actors/employees of the park

And today I was ringing up a person's order and they go "would you like a Cursed Object"

I said yes of course I would love a Cursed Object

Because that's just what you say when someone offers a Cursed Object

I finish up their order and in return I am gifted this:

And was promptly informed that they had made 128 of these

So ya know, I'll definitely be treasuring this for the rest of my life

About Me

🌊Marko | he/him | 20

🌊I live in the USA, and have lived here my whole life, in 4 different states so far

🌊I have 3 cats! Bumi, Riza, and Murdock, and if you ask, I will 100% post pictures :D

🌊My favorite books tend to be YA sci-fi and fantasy (usually urban fantasy) however I've also enjoyed many contemporary stories. I enjoy both novels and comics/graphic novels, and prefer diverse stories with characters varying in race, sexuality, gender, ability, etc etc

🌊I'm a huge nerd and I follow from my fandom account @joyful-soul-collector, which if you've been on writeblr for a few years, you may remember that account from when it first started as a writeblr! Which brings me to...

About My Writing

🌊My current wip is called Lungs and Gills, hence my username, though for years it was originally called Pearl Thief, and that's what people who followed my first writeblr may remember it as

🌊Its a post-apocalyptic fantasy story about mermaids and how they deal with ocean pollution after it's destroyed their civilization and caused those who've gotten sick from the pollution to become zombie-like shells of who they used to be

🌊Here is the LAG wip page! You'll find my wip intro, character intros, writing snippets, short stories, etc etc

🌊I also write fanfic, which you can find at my main account, @joyful-soul-collector

🌊Occasionally I may also post about a ghost story, which I've only ever talked about here once before, but I plan on writing once LAG is complete

Fuck everyone from the past to today who has body shamed wrestlers and made them self conscious about their look. Wrestlers with a lovely amount of squish are heaven sent and the fact that (especially in the 90s!!!) I have to listen to wrestlers talk about being encouraged to wrestle with their shirts on because everyone in management told them "nO oNe wAnTs tO sEe tHaT"

Let me rant. Because I'm tired of all this Yuki hate 😣🫠

My thoughts on the whole AlphaTauri driver seat mess + Liam Lawson Not Getting A Seat issue. My blame is on HELMUT MARKO. The main reason why we are going through this mess.

Thoughts:

1. Helmut lost his faith in the Red Bull Junior Academy program after the whole Gasly-Albon situation back 2019 and 2020.

2. I suspect Helmut and Franz did not see eye to eye anymore after what happened with Gasly and Albon. So, Helmut greenlight the hiring of Checo. And Franz in retaliation/rebellion promotes Yuki Tsunoda.

3. I also suspect Gasly and Albon already knew Helmut wouldn't be promoting any RedBull Junior drivers after Yuki. So, they bid their time in AlphaTauri while helping Yuki grow and mature into a driver that would make Franz Tost proud.

4. For the 2022 silly season, Helmut goes behind Franz's back and signs Nyck for the empty AlphaTauri seat. (note: if any of you come for me with "Franz also lost faith in the RB junior driver program by trying to get Mick" here me out I think Franz wanted Mick because has already done 2 seasons in F1 so in theory Mick just needs 1 more season to complete Franz's belief of "It takes 3 seasons for a rookie driver to bloom/mature in f1" and note 2: I think if Franz's plans to hire Mick was greenlight this could have given Liam more time to grow and learn during the SF season)

5. We won't have this mess if RBR drops Checo for performance issues. Because let's all be honest, Checo's performance for 2023 isn't exactly RBR standards ¯⁠\⁠(⁠◉⁠‿⁠◉⁠)⁠/⁠¯ I mean if 2019!Pierre or 2020!Alex did the shit 2023!Checo was doing it might have gotten either Pierre or Alex kicked out of RedBull for good 😬 like RBR should stay consistent...

6. We could have avoided this mess if RBR just took better care of Danny Ric during 2018....

But what is the solution to this situation? 🧐

A. Buy Out Checo's contract. Give the RB seat to Liam (since alot of people say he deserves it) and IF Liam cannot cope with the pressure of being in the RB seat demote him to AlphaTauri and give the RB seat to Danny Ric IF his results are amazing

B. For the long term solution: FIRE/KICK OUT Helmut Marko and HIRE Franz Tost as the new RB advisor because Tost has more experience than Helmut in seeking out talented drivers

Because I'm apparently determined to procrastinate by watching live Poets videos all day, I was watching another one, and someone was a dick in the comments about Marko's performance. Like, I heard his voice crack once during the whole song, and this person acted like he was a disaster. oh, and they were fatphobic because they commented that he'd put on weight. here’s something nobody talks about when you decide to self-publish: nobody tells you that it’s like falling off a cliff with nothing to save you.

i have 3.7K followers on tiktok, 439 on Instagram and 200-ish on tumblr. So, that’s a lot when you add them together but guess what 95% of those followers do; they lurk like ghosts.

I'm genuinely at the point where I think the FIA are out here trying to stay relevant because that ENTIRE interview was a bunch of horseshit. No amount of context or rereading of it has been able to rid me of the amount of times I said what the fuck as I read it.

Seb has shown he isn't going to stop, he's just going to Captain Underpants himself into whole new levels of creatively supporting his causes.

Lewis sure as shit ain't backing down, this is same shit, different day for him.

Lando has a lot of people on that grid being more open about mental health than they have been. He may be more careful because of this interview bit Danny Ric won't shut up, Lewis won't shut up about it, Seb is gonna say stuff and so will Pierre and George and Alex and Max and Charles and Carlos because Lando did.

Y'all can have your faves and your narratives and your opinions and your beliefs and I'll respect them. Just don't sit there and say certain drivers didn't do shit just because you don't like them. You're feeding into the narrative that Ben Sulyam is peddling while "not forcing his beliefs" onto people.

Be a little louder, ride a rainbow bike, talk about how shit life can be and how you feel MORE than you usually would (if your comfortable obvs) because he's saying it shouldn't happen.
