Just My Thoughts Pt. 26
Tumblr media
One of my favorite arc in all of Fairy Tail is the Tartaros arc. It had everything I wanted and more. I think it was one of Mashima best written storyline (I haven’t watched/read his other works). It was more than just friendship is power and all happy endings. It had sacrifices, loss, heartbreak, and all the gut wrenching emotions. It was honestly one of the reasons I’m into anime now. At the point of first watching FT, I wasn’t really convinced anime was for me. But that arc changed it all. I have a special place for it in my heart. While they did end up victorious, it wasn’t without a lot of trauma. Natsu lost his dad, Igneel, after being reunited which was his life goal. Gray lost his father again and Juvia believed she was responsible for it. Wendy and Carla were ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their friendship and love. All of the dragon slayers lost their dragons. FT ended up disbanding for the time being. And Lucy lost her new home, her friends left her, Natsu/Happy went off to train and process their own thoughts, she was left alone after sacrificing Aquarius one of her first celestial keys to save the lives of her friends. I really loved how despite their win, it didn’t seem as successful. I really think it added a very deep element to the story and their characters.
I really hope the 100 YQ has something similar as we approach the end. It’s been good so far but kind of lacking in some aspects such as proper portrayal of emotions beyond the few in their range. I also think that having another arc the idea of “win but at what cost” is very important for FT. All their growth and loss from the original series seems to have evaporated from the 100 YQ. I won’t get into this too much or else I’ll end up ranting. But an arc with some loss would be amazing. I think it should have something related to Aquarius since Lucy did lose her in the Tartaros arc. So it would be a full circle type of concept. Additionally, I really really hope (and beg on my knees) for Mashima to use Lucy fear of Natsu flames for the first time in a gut punch way. It needs to have some impact and importance to the story. I need it desperately.
On the side note, I have been enjoying the little side stories or filler episodes in the 100 YQ. Ichiya and Anna was very unexpected but it’s understandable in a manner if we consider the last arc of FT. I also love the ship crumbs in the last few episodes. Jellal and Erza need to just kiss already!! I’m so glad he’s joining the guild. And ofc… NALU crumbs has my heart. I whole heartedly believe that Natsu thinks he’s dating Lucy since the last episode of the original series. I just can’t wait for this to play out!!
Until my next thought! ❤️

Chapter 374: The Revolution
Tumblr media
Natsu comes in to save Lucy!
SSF: Cana was able to put the FT members in her cards. Happy, Charle, and Lily flew with the cards to the Tartaros to attack. Lucy and Wendy discover there's 41 minutes remaining before the Face activates! As Lucy faces Franmalth and Keyes, Natsu comes to help.
Tumblr media
Our Natsu is always there to save his family.
Tumblr media
It's cute how they just casually talk to each other like they weren't separated and no explosion happened.
Tumblr media
Lucy tired of his antics.
Tumblr media
Team Natsu vs Franmalth!
Tumblr media
This scene is something since Natsu also is attached to Lucy's celestial spirits.
Tumblr media
But he's okay beating Taurus. Well imagine all the time he sexually harassed Lucy, I think that's it.
Tumblr media
Yeah.

Lucy, Brandish, Aquarius, and The Wasted Potential of Chapters 74 & 75 - A Meta Analysis of 100 Years Quest (sorta)
I don’t usually do these sort of posts, but I've been having a lot of thoughts about this, and strangely enough it’s giving me a lot of writers block, and I feel like I can’t get myself back to writing fics until I’ve got this out. I’m going to preface this with the fact that I love Fairy Tail, I always have, and I’m sure I always will. I acknowledge that it is far from perfect, and I generally tolerate its flaws, so this post isn’t coming from a place of hatred or malice, but from my own personal frustration with how these chapters played out, and the lost potential it had. I feel that Fairy Tail thrives upon its characters and their relationships, but the way these chapter play out, in my opinion, do a disservice to them.
Obviously, all my opinion and interpretation, feel free to disagree with anything I say, but also just know I’m not here to argue with you if you do disagree.
Chapters 74 and 75 are the Yokai Lucy vs. Natsu fight, which in theory, could have been an incredible fight and a great moment for character development for both of them, but I feel is is taken away by having Aqaurius show up.
The reason I feel this way goes all the way back to chapter 13, where Lucy and Brandish meet again for the first time since Alvarez, and we find out that Brandish is also out to find Aquarius’s key. At first I think this came as a bit of a surprise to me, but it makes sense; Lucy and Brandish are really parallels of each other, and one of the ways we see this connection is in their connection to Aquarius in relation to their mothers. It makes sense that Brandish is also looking for Aquarius’s key because much like Lucy, Aquarius is the last thing that Brandish has of her mother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In these panels we are seeing the setup to a friendly rivalry rather than a genuine competition between the two with incredibly high stakes, even though they’re both competing for something that means a great deal to the both of them.
So why am I bringing this up? Well, when I first read this chapter, I theorised that this rivalry would somehow cumulate in Lucy either finding or retrieving Aquarius’s key first, but inevitably giving it up to Brandish, because I think, knowing what we do about Lucy, this is the most in character choice for her to make. We see in the Grand Magic Games arc when Yukino tries to give up Libra and Pices to her, that Lucy doesn’t care about having all twelve golden gate keys, but rather she cares about the happiness and feelings of the spirits. Time and time again we see that Lucy is incredibly selfless, and is willing to put others before her, regardless of if that person has wronged her in the past.
Lucy’s selflessness is not the sole (or even primary reason) that I think this is the best course of action for this plotline. Lucy goes through a lot of character development in the time since giving up Aquarius’s key. In the year between Tartaros and Alvarez, with Aquarius gone, Natsu and Happy on their journey, and Fairy Tail disbanded, for the first time in her life, Lucy is truly alone. Lonliness is something that was obviously not foreign to her, she went through a lot of it after the passing of her mother and the subsequent neglect from her father, but even then she still had Aquarius; after Tartaros, she has no one. Lucy is (somewhat) able to adjust to her new life, she throws herself into her work and her search for her guildmates, as well as trains to become the strongest that we’ve seen her up until that point. Up until this point, Lucy has always needed Aquarius for both her protection and her companionship, but with the growth that she experiences since first losing her, she no longer needs either of those things. What I think she does need, is a sense of closure, and a true goodbye to be able to truly let go and move on. When Lucy sacrifices Aquarius to summon the Celestial Spirit King, they never get that true goodbye.
Tumblr media
Aquarius is the one who gets to thank Lucy, but in her urgency to save her friends, and utter grief at the thought of losing Aquarius, we never get to see Lucy give her goodbyes to Aquarius. Even when Aquarius shows up in chapters 468 and 469, their “goodbye” is more along the lines of a see you later.
Tumblr media
Brandish on the other hand, does need Aquarius, much more than Lucy does, and I believe that Lucy understands that. While Lucy has long since mourned and come to terms with the death of her mother, Brandish spent her whole life resenting Layla for Grammi’s death, unable to let herself move past it, to the point where she was willing to kill Lucy to get her revenge. Of course, killing Lucy wouldn’t have made any of those feelings go away, because all of her frustration and anger comes from not having closure of her mothers’ death. Having the companionship of Aqaurius gives Brandish someone to share in the memory of her mother with, and from there, she may truly be able to start to feel her grief and mourn in a healthy way, and be able to move on. I feel that Lucy deeply understands and empathises with what Brandish went through/is going through, and would be willing to give up Aquarius after a tearful goodbye, if it meant helping Brandish go through what Lucy knows to be a horrible and traumatic experience.
Now, I have my isssues with Aquarius’ appearance in 468 and 469, but I feel since she is so interwoven within the story of Lucy and Brandish that her showing up is justified, and plot wise, this was the best course of action to resolve this part of the story.
Aquarius showing up once to solve a problem is fine. Twice is a copout.
What irritates me most about Aquarius’s appearance in chapter 75 of hyq, is that, not only was it not the only course of action to resolve the fight, I don’t even think it was the one that made the most sense.
Tumblr media
In true Fairy Tail fashion, we see the resolution to this fight being the power of friendship. I have no problem with nakama power in Fairy Tail, I wouldn’t have gotten this far into the series if I did, and actually, I’m quite fond of it. But to me, it’s weird that Mashima decided that the way to nakama power Lucy out of her Yokai state, was to bring in Aquarius, when Natsu was literally right there.
Now it’s no secret that despite being the main characters and best friends, Natsu and Lucy have had very few meaningful interactions across 100 years quest. In a way, it does make sense, they have a lot more pressing matters on their hands, but in chapter 74, we have them in the same room, forced to fight each other for the first time.
By now, we’re all aware that Natsu is a punch his problems until it goes away, type of guy, but he’s absolutely not incapable of thinking his way to a resolution. Yeah, Natsu is a dumbass, but being a dumbass and being smart are not mutually exclusive actually. In chapter 53 Natsu is able to pretty quickly come up with a really clever strategy to defeat Aldoron that doesn’t involve fighting at all. It’s a scene that I really like because it shows that Natsu has grown from the reckless person who would put himself in danger with no forethought, to someone who is capable of thinking strategically.
Tumblr media
So we know that, with a little push, Natsu is able to come up with a clever solution, and there is a push for a solution in the fight with Yokai Lucy.
Tumblr media
I believe that the reason that Natsu is so willing to fight her is the same reason in which he’s fine with absolutely pummeling Aldoron’s Happy in chapter 52, in that yes, it looks like Lucy, and it sounds like Lucy, but he doesn’t percieve her as actually being his Lucy. So when Lucy pulls out the “Natsu! It’s me!”, and he’s caught off guard, because yeah, it’s still Lucy.
It foreshadows how Aquarius is able to bring her back, but why couldn’t it have foreshadowed the same for Natsu?
From here is where I go from really liking chapter 74, to really not liking it.
By having Aquarius come to break Lucy out of her Yokai state, she takes away an opportunity to give Natsu another moment to show his character growth from someone who never thinks about anything other than fighting, to actually being able to independently think of his own solutions. Instead we get... another Lucy and Aqaurius moment that doesn’t really give us anything more than what we had seen in 468 and 469 of the original series. To me, it doesn’t make sense that Natsu would want to continue fighting Lucy, we know that he cares deeply about her and doesn’t want to see her hurting, and by that point he knows that he is out of his league in that fight. We have already established growth in Natsu to be able to think things through, so why can’t we see him pivot here and go the same nakama power route that Aquarius goes?
Tumblr media
Now one could argue that, “oh it’s because Aquarius uses her stream of memories to get Lucy back to her old self”, but I don’t really think that it holds much ground in the first place. To me, both having Aquarius show up because celestial spirits don’t need to be summoned with keys there, and then now this stream of memories feels half-baked. If you’re going with a half-baked solution to forward the plot, I believe you might as well go with one that furthers the characters in a way that we haven’t already established. I wouldn’t care if it was some other half-baked power of love and friendship or whatever, or if it just forced Natsu to use his words for once, I don’t think it makes much of a difference, but at the start of the chapter, I was led to believe that it was set up as a Natsu and Lucy moment, so I find it weird that that’s not how it ended up.
In chapter 22, it’s Lucy who is the one who breaks Natsu out of his rampage, so while these two circumstances aren’t on equal ground, I believe that having Natsu be the one to break Lucy out of her Yokai state would have been something of a full circle moment for them.
Tumblr media
The second reason I don’t like Aquarius showing up, circles back to Lucy searching for her key: What is the point of Lucy going on a journey (both literally and figuratively) to find her key if Aquarius is just going to show up to save her whenever she needs it? Regardless of if my theory that Lucy just wants to have a final goodbye with Aqaurius, having her show up whenever Lucy needs saving, takes away from the emotional impact of when they finally get to see each other, when/if Lucy finds her key. I feel that Lucy is ready to fully move on from her life and who she was before Fairy Tail, and letting go of Aquarius is part of that. Aquarius will always be an important part of Lucy’s life, and they’re both always going to care for each other, and with a potential friendship blooming between her and Brandish, I don’t see it being goodbye forever between them, but I think it would be a satisfying ending to their partnership, and a good way to close their character arcs together.

The treatment of Lucy’s character really disappoints me.
Every Arc, Lucy is always forced into the role of beaten down, damsel or never given the spotlight to really shine. The only time we ever see her at full potential is tartaros arc and alvarez arc (in the main series i havent read 100yq so im not gonna be talking about it here). However even in tartaros there was bs moves made against her to stop her from fighting.
Like up against jackal, how she chased after him to battle him yet we never got Lucy vs Jackal. Why? Because mashima pulled this bs move of restricting lucy yet again. Holding her back by causing Jackal to hold two people hostage. We NEVER see Natsu put in the same situations as her, its ALWAYS Lucy.
Or with the pheonix priestess movie where I not ONCE saw Lucy fight. She’s always running away, she can’t even catch the gees guy because he magically slips into this random crack in an alleyway because pLoT. I just wanna see her be able to win, like that whole movie I don’t remember a single time she was actually given a moment to just ACTUALLY contribute to the action.
Same with the grand magic games, where she was about to perform urano metria and win (as she should) yet mashima did the same thing of pulling a bs cheapshot with some lamo canceling her spell out of nowhere. It just makes no sense. And we NEVER see this happen to any other characters. We don’t see Natsu’s flames get abolished trying to fight sting and rogue, we don’t see Gray’s ice suddenly melting when he tries to fight, we don’t see wendy having her wind suddenly not work.
It’s ALWAYS Lucy. The shows official punching bag. Fanservice? Just throw Lucy in front of the camera. Characters need a reason to fight? Just have Lucy get beaten up. Need a villian to have a motive? Just have Lucy get kidnapped or her keys stolen. Like literally when do any of the other characters get inconvenienced? I can only think of one time the other characters get the Lucy treatment of being kidnapped and it’s tartaros arc (my fave arc as a lucy stan) but pretty much it’s always only Lucy getting inconvenienced.
AND SIDE NOTE Aquarius just randomly deciding to dip during the tournament MID FIGHT (the water tournament in GMG). I know this is in character for her, BUT LIKE this was just mashima’s excuse to be able to torture Lucy yet again. I mean come on, I get it’s for comedy and all but I’m tired of Lucy being the butt of the joke. Why can’t we just have a moment for her to actually be able to win. And I’m pretty sure Aquarius actually tries to do her job so why would she just dip during the middle of it? I don’t know it just irks me how mashima always finds a way to disarm Lucy (even having villians take her keys too.)
Even in the FIRST EPISODE her keys get tossed aside for plot reasoons! So natsu can come and save the day11!2? It would’ve been so cool if Lucy could’ve fought alongside him and he recognised her as someone with potential to join fairytail. Rather than just having her stand idly by. And in mt hakobe how natsu just magically kicks taurus away whilst Lucy was trying to fight, because we cant have lucy being a character whos actually taken seriously now can we? Nope! She just always has to be the butt of the joke. And in Galuna, where that pink haired girl magically had lucys spirits work against her for just so we can have the obligatory lucy torture yet again. In the lullaby arc what does lucy even do i dont even remember? It’s happy whos the one who suggests for her to use virgo, might as well just give happy the keys at this point. Maybe mashima would actually let them be used for once if happy had them
It’s the same garbage every arc, and it sucks because I love Lucy her magic has such potential to be a powerhouse. We’ve seen her really flourish but the only time she ever gets the chance to flourish is when Mashima realises he’s written himself into a corner and actually HAS to use Lucy’s character. The only times are when he realises no one else can come save her so he actually has to try to use her magic narratively. Like in tartaros (my fave lucy moment) where she FINALLY gets to have her own moment to shine. And against brandish because Natsu is dying of dragon seed cancer!?1?2 oh noes! Looks like Lucy actually has to fight! (W fight by the way one of my fave lucy moments, I was so giddy when I saw her fighting like that for the first time.)
But yeah, I guess I’m just salty that Lucy is constantly thrown aside in favor of Natsu or Erza or sometimes Gray. Lucy deserved better. Sorry for this rant being all over the place, it just saddens me to see Lucy being treated like a joke the entire series. We were robbed.

I'm so sad that the 2014 adaptation fumbled because there actually was so much good content that could've gone down in history :((( like the episode where we get BOTH erzav100 and cana fairy glitter gives me chills to this day but I can't recall ever getting that feeling in tartaros arc which SHOULD'VE BEEN THE MOST HYPE... the fights just devolved into still shots and aftermaths with no continuous choreography... Wendy dragon force... Lucy soloing the whole guild (summoning three spirits at once, her sacrifice, summoning the fucking celestial spirit king, unlocking her star dress, urano metria)...... the dragons coming back... But the animation was just not good (except for in gray vs silver? and maybe the later part of Lucy's fight...) and ughhhh i just :(

I love luli but yeah i gotta admit out of the hundreds of ships i ship its definitely one of the more "crack" ones even if they ARE friends in universe. They barely talk to eachother, I can name like 3 scenes where they do in canon and its 1. When Lisanna tells Lucy to go after Natsu, 2. When they reunite during tartaros arc and were glad that the others fine, 3. The iconic snake / fox Lisanna vs Stardress Mix Lucy fight in 100yq. I can name a few more scenes where they do interact but idk if they're in the manga or not its been a while

As I sit here watching Fairy Tail ep 237 (Tartaros Arc: Prologue: Natsu vs Jackal) and see Lucy getting blown up AGAIN (once again, her clothes take the brunt of the damage) I can't help but think to myself "These people REALLY need Edna Mode".
Can you IMAGINE how big a hit she'd be?
"It's FASHION, dahling!"
E: "Natsu, IT WAS FIREPROOF"
N: "....."
E: "FIREPROOF, NATSU."
E: "Lucy, that garment was indestructible. "
L: "Natsu's my partner."
E: "Almost indestructible."
E: "Gray, that's the 15th shirt this month."
G: "...Natsu is my partner."
E: "That only works for Lucy."

Lyon and Meredy vs Keyes
Yet another plot twist I've taken from Demons and maybe my favorite.
I absolutely love writing Lyredy and having them fight against Keyes together just made for great development.
PS: If you want to know more about how I developed Lyon and Meredy's relationship up to this point, check out this post.
Hope you'll enjoy!
                                    Tragic Tales
"I've never seen Gajeel and Natsu struggle so much." Lucy commented from her spot sitting by Meredy's side.
"I'm worried, Lucy." The pinkette's gaze never left Lyon, who fought against Keyes.
"You're playing with people's lives." The ice mage yelled at the demon after learning of his use of the necromancer curse to have corpses do his biding. He had also learned about how Keyes had cast a spell on Silver that prevented him from telling the truth about Tartarus and now it controlled his actions.
"Such a delicious, ironic tragedy. Father and son meeting their ends at the hands of each other. I couldn't have thought of a better story myself." The demon delighted in the knowledge that he was the reason Gray and Silver would die, since he was the one forcing them to fight against each other.
Even though Silver wasn't one of his corpses, as he had made clear, the ice mage was still just a puppet under Tartarus' control.
"You are disgusting." Lyon yelled before sending a pack of eagles towards him, but they didn't even touch the demon.
"What's even more tragic is your tale." Keyes continued, smirking. "Being in love with the same woman who loved the boy, such a pity."
"Shut up!" The ice mage immediately tensed.
"Tell me, do you wonder if she'll choose you once he is gone?" Meredy swallowed hard, that demon sure knew just what to say to break someone. "Or are you afraid that she'll continue to despise you?"
"She doesn't." Lyon said, though there was uncertainty in his tone.
"Oh, but she does. Surely the only reason she still puts up with you is because you are his brother. Otherwise she would've cut you off a long time ago."
"Lyon!" Meredy screamed, standing up and taking a step forward once the ice mage was enveloped in a ball of dark energy. Thankfully, he was quick to freeze it and free himself.
                               ________________
"I see." There was a smirk on the demon's face as he stared between the two. "So Juvia Lockser isn't the only one who's stolen your heart."
"I already told you to shut up!" Lyon sent a huge snow dragon towards him, but it was quickly destroyed.
"Such strength, but it won't be enough to protect either of them." Keyes mocked just before redirecting his curse towards the pinkette.
"No, Meredy!" The pinkette was frozen in shock, hands resting on her stomach as she worried for her child.
Thankfully, she was saved as Lucy quickly stood up and jumped in front of her, getting hit instead.
"Lucy!" Meredy caught her and both fell to the ground. Upon inspecting the blonde, she was relieved to learn that she was still breathing, although the wound on her stomach was worriesome.
"You'll pay for this!" Lyon yelled in anger before sending an even more powerful attack towards the demon.
As Meredy watched the demon finally be thrown back, she realized that Lyon wouldn't be able to defeat him on his own. He needed help.
"Lyon, I have an idea on how we can defeat him. You're not going to like it, though." She told him while taking off her cape and pressing it against Lucy's wound.
"What is it?" He turned around to face her.
"We can do a unison raid." Lyon immediately shook his head.
"No. You can't use magic." She sighed before letting go of the cape and standing up.
"You know I wouldn't do anything that could put our child's life at risk unless it was absolutely necessary." Meredy gave him a desperate look. "We have to do this before he kills us all."
"But…" He had taken a few steps away from the fight and towards her.
"It will be okay." She reassured him; closing the distance between them before her arms wrapped around his torso in a much needed hug.
"Meredy, I…" He gulped, feeling tears threatening to fall. For a few seconds they stayed like that, holding each other, until Gajeel yelled a warning that the fight wasn't over yet.
"We must do this, for her sake." Meredy said once they pulled apart from and he placed a hand on top of her stomach, still unsure.
"She is right. You must defeat Keyes, it's the only way to stop Tartarus from activating FACE." His eyes widened as Silver's familiar voice was heard.
"Silver? Why are you contacting me?" Lyon was confused.
"Because I know that you care about Gray." The ice mage tensed. "If you don't stop Keyes, he'll force me to kill my son. I'm trying to resist his control, but I'm not strong enough." Lyon took in a sharp breath.
"So I don't have a choice." The only way he'd be able to pull it off was with Meredy's help, he couldn't do it alone. So he sighed.
"Okay, let's do this." She nodded before taking his hand before both turned around to face their enemy. Keyes was smirking, but his amused expression soon changed to fear as the couple chanted the words that would be his undoing.

One of the patterns I have noticed in FT is that in the bigger arcs, Wendy's battles are usually the first to complete while for Lucy it's mostly the middle spot.
Eg. In the Tartaros arc, the first big battle to go down was Wendy vs Ezel.
Tumblr media
While Natsu and Lucy teamed up to defeat Franmalth.
And after some time, Lucy vs Tartaros takes place.
Similarly in the current arc, where Wendy vs Zaku is the first big (comparative) battle to go down and reach its conclusion while again Natsu and Lucy teamed up to defeat a mini demon
Tumblr media
I know Laxus vs Kirin and Natsu vs Suzaku also took place but they got interrupted.
And after Wendy vs Zaku, the next big battle was Lucy vs Kyria. I think this is done because Lucy usually has a lot more work to do and in every arc she manages to break through a key point that leads in our team's victory.
Tumblr media
CONCLUSION:
Wendy battles are mostly the first to take place.
Lucy falls in the middle category. Her battles usually take place with other battles going in the background.
Natsu and Erza are mostly kept for defeating the BIG BOSS at the end.

The Article Regarding Lucy Heartfilia and Lisanna Strauss 😘😘😘
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okayy guyss, let's give it a thought here..
so I've been noticing that people are mad that Lucy's new Stardress is only enough to take down Lisanna
by all mean, i understand Mashima's point of view. This isnt about Lucy defeating Lisanna.. This is about Lucy herself. Mashima did that in order to avoid Lucy from becoming Mary Sue.. Cause face it yall,: Yes, Lucy is strong enough. But to take down an S-class mage is unlogical at the moment.. Especially if the said mage CONSUMED TARTAROS. And now, Mirajane only use Satan Soul, which is not her strongest form.
At the moment, mind you. This only gives Lucy the chance to improve more. Face it yall, FT is a power house full with monsters. HAHAAHAHA
Not only that, the Strauss siblings are a power house in nature, to take down all of them are unlogical and quite ridiculous.
The proof is, Lucy's new stardress can also show that how much LISANNA has become STRONG. If Lucy can take down Lisanna AND Elfman, it will look like as if only Lucy has improved, and not the other guild members too.
And OMG LISANNA BABE, YOU HAVE IMPROVEDDDDDDD, CONGRATSSS... EVEN THE MAIN PLAYER OF FT (LUCY) HAS A HARD TIME FACING YOU!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! ALSO LUCY, PRACTICE MOREE, MY LOVEEE 😍
Remember guys, Lucy's strongest point is her strategic like battle. It's because SHE'S THE BRAIN. We can see it from even Chapter 1, Lucy figured out Bora's intention, Lucy figured out about the book. We can see it that Lucy's strongest point is her mind. I mean, she tricked Tartaros' annoying demon into believing that Natsu is a spirit.
And not only that, even with her Second Origin, summoning two powerful spirit (Loke and Virgo) and using Loke's stardress consumed a LOT OF POWER. So, cut my princess some slack, yall. Even with Second Origin and all that Powerups, a character can still have weaknesses (so they won't be Mary Sue). And Lucy's is about her magical stamina. Proof: Her lesson with Capricorn.
And why did she take down Lisanna? Because I think Mashima wants to give Lisanna a chance on how powerful she is. Elfman already got powerups and all and even used them in real brawl battle (vs Bacchus), and Mirajane is AN S-CLASS MAGE. So, out of the three Strauss Siblings, Lisanna is a bit left out. Even if she has a power up, she rarely took down an enemy or giving them a real hard time.
So taking the initiative to give Lisanna's fans a fresh look, Mashima introduced her new form. So it's kinda win-win situation. She has a new form to show that she's not slacking or falling behind, but at the same time, her experience isn't that enough. So, this saves both Lisanna and Lucy from becoming Mary Sues.
I am not saying that Lisanna is experienceless.. I'm saying that she is an experienced combat fighter, but she never really face people head on. While Lucy requires support from her spirits but her experience makes it up in variety of aspects.
Conclusion : Mashima's move is completely logical. And BOTH MY BABY LUCY AND LISANNA ARE KICKASS AND THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO GROW. FAIRY TAIIL ISN'T ENDING THAT EASILY. SPREAD LOVE, BABIES!!

Chapter 545: Irreplaceable Friends
Tumblr media
In the year X793, Lucy wins an award for her new book while all the guilds in the country of Fiore move on with their lives. Hisui pardons Crime Sorcière of their crimes, allowing them to live on to the future.
Tumblr media
Gajeel points out that since Lucy and Anna have the same smell, it means he likes Anna. In which Natsu does not deny. It's cute how the Heartfilia Clan has this history with him. He even got the heiress, as his.
Tumblr media
Lucy wakes up thinking everything was just a dream. Then sees Natsu and Happy in his house comfortably waiting for her to wake up. She remembers what she did while drunk. We should've seen more of it! Don't fret Lucy, you are Natsu's future bride.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as Natsu invites her for a job, Lucy is bombarded with memories of them together. Let's dissect this:
1. The Duke of Everloo episode, wherein Natsu tells Lucy that she must burn the book since this is their job. First job and first partnership together!
2. Galuna Island Arc
3. When Natsu saves Lucy from falling, Phantom Lord Arc
4. Loke Arc, when the monsters (Natsu, Gray, and Erza) were having a pillow fight.
5. When an injured Natsu talks with Laxus
6. Oracion seis arc, when they were bombed by Zero
7. Edolas arc, when Earth Lucy met Edo Lucy.
8. Tenrou Island Arc, their battle with Cain Hikaru
9. GMG Arc, Natsu thanks Future Lucy
10. Tartaros Arc, Natsu vs Mard Geer and Igneel vs Acnologia
11. Natsu comes back after the 1 year timeskip
12. Alvarez Arc, the end of the war
Tumblr media
Lucy envelops Natsu in a hug. She is thankful and happy with everything that happened. And when it gets emotional, Natsu drags her out to go for a job.

With a promise.

We end Fairy Tail on their 100 year quest.
---
I never thought that this would happen. Many people were supporting me along the way. I shared with my first blog that I was doing this to heal my inner child who has always been a Fairy Tail fan since 2011. It's been part of my growth and will always be part of my heart.
I'm happy I was able to finish the whole series and finish my NaLu blog! I'm still thinking if I shall proceed with the 100 year quest (it's still ongoing thus I'm hesitating). We'll know when we cross that bridge.
For all the FT fans and the NaLu fans, I'm wishing you all the best. Hope we can see you again soon! Love lots 🩷💛
