he'd be such a little househusband like he'd do so much for you all the time even if it didn't need done, he'd change the sheets while you were out, do your laundry that you forgot about, organise your things, do the dishes, all of it.

loves cooking for you too, even learns how to make your favourite foods for when you have a bad day or just when he feels like treating you, which is always. he loves to spoil you and make you feel as special as you are to him.

goes full on doctor reid when you're sick, even just a little like it could be a mild cold and he's ushering you back to bed and tucking you in, going out to get you medicine, snacks, drinks, everything. he'd also make you soup, specifically whatever soup diana made for him when he was sick and he'd take your temperature in intervals throughout the day and check on you like you were in critical condition, also watches movies with you and just tries to forget the fact that you're a walking germ factory.

always looking at you with the biggest, most loveheart eyes when you're out with friends and you're not watching, he just can't help but smile and stare when you're just laughing and enjoying yourself, definitely gets caught all the time by derek who just fake gags and makes kissy faces at him.

candid photos all the time, even bought a polaroid camera specifically for them which he takes everywhere in his bag so he can take pictures of where you go, making sure to put the date and location on the photo and a little message on the back about how pretty you look or just how much he enjoyed that day with you. he'd also collect them in a nice little box and wait until he has a good amount for pinning them all to a memo board.

knits for you, no matter how long the project takes he'll make it for you, especially if you show him something knitted and say how cute it is, him taking a mental note and learning how to make it to surprise you with it.

such a hopeless romantic, never ever misses a valentine's day or anniversary, he'd rather shoot himself in the foot than see you not spoiled rotten on important dates, he'd do the works for you on valentine's day, flowers, chocolates, dinner and at the end of the day he'd bury his face between your thighs.

I don’t like that in Mutant Mayhem Donnie is not a “science guy” but instead is more of an anime and pop culture geek. I’m not against him being an anime fan (I love anime too) but I wish we saw more of his science and being a tech genius side instead of him just liking stereotypical “nerdy stuff”. If that makes sense.

I don’t like the Punk Frogs (any version).

The 87 crossover episodes in the 2012 series (as much as I did enjoy them & are great episodes) should not have happened. They leave no real impact or development to 2012’s overarching story and just waste time. These episodes could’ve covered more important things that 202 was desperately lacking like like character exploration and character dynamic development. It was just nostalgic fanservice. The arc in S5 specifically would’ve work better as a movie instead of a 3-4 episode arc in the (most likely non canon) final season.

Shinigami being Mikey’s second love interests ruins her character a bit (for me personally). That was a pointless decision that did NOT need to happen. She would’ve been our first recurring female character to not be a love interest, but nope!

People are allowed to like/ship Donnie x April in ROTTMNT (this is coming from someone who’s not crazy about April being shipped with the Turtles).

I ship Yuichi with 2012 Leo more than Rise Leo (still ship Rise Leoichi, but I just think 2012 Leoichi is way more interesting, plus 2012 Leo deserves a good love interest).

The humans in Mutant Mayhem look ugly af (I know that was probably an intentional design choice but still. It looks bad.)

I hate Raph x Casey (any ver). I’ve stated in part one that I don’t like Raph (any version) being in a romantic relationship with human characters and yes, that meant him with Casey. Not only that but Raph and Casey being a couple ruins their whole dynamic and iconic friendship I love so much. I’m all for friends to lovers but they are a line that should not be crossed. Not every friendship needs to turn romantic.

2012 Karai’s hair looks bad.

Fans often over exaggerate Rise Donnie’s character and badly mischaracterize him in fanfics and fan comics to the point it makes him feel like he’s an entirely different character.

Shinigami should have been revealed to be a villain.

Rise Donnie was just as mean to his brother as fans claim 2012 Raph was to his. Yes, they both do love their families and I’m NOT saying either of them are abus!ce (they’re not), but fans praising Rise Donnie for doing similar things fans criticize/hate 2012 Raph for doing just makes them hypocrites.

Venus does NOT need to be in every iteration of TMNT. It gets kind of annoying when fans keep on saying that she should be in all the other iterations when in truth her presence would not make sense based on the already established canon story. The only (recent) version of TMNT where I think her being included would’ve fit the best and deserved to make her comeback in is ROTTMNT.

The side plot of 2012 Karai being mutated and later getting brainwashed by Shredder was a waste of time and the most boring arc in the series.

2012 April, Donnie and Casey being in a poly relationship does not fix anything with their problematic dynamic and massive flaws with one another. I'm not saying you can't ship all three of them together, you do you! Idc But in reality their relationship would be a train wreck, that's why I personally don't ship 2012 Capriltello.

Renet is probably one of the most powerful allies the Turtles have in the 2012 series.

Rise Donnie would NOT hate 2012 April. He’d go crazy over her psychic powers and want to study them to help her explore them more.

From what I've seen so far, Leo x Usagi seems like the only GOOD ship in the 2003 series (this hot take might change tho).

Raph had the best character arc and development in the 2012 series and changed the most out of the four brothers. Next would be Leo. With Mikey and Donnie have little development (or none at all sadly).

my hatred for taylor swift stemmed from when she was SILENT during the 2016 election but decided to say something about it maybe two years later at an award show. with as much influence that she has she should be one of the first people to speak out about anything. her silence is deafening and people need to stop praising her for not even doing the bare minimum

omg i did not?? know about this. so i come from a family that LOVES taylor swift. my mom and sibling actually just went to watch her concert movie. but i have. such a problem w taylor swift that begun around the same time because someone pointed out that she is the picture of "white woman feminism" and that she only supports things once she sees that its the popular opinion. and i've noticed her friend circle is all very much white and its like -- you're a "feminist" in hollywood and you are literally only ever around white people? and i also think that celebs can have one of two paths: keeping silent about social issues or speaking about it. and she CAN'T proclaim herself to be feminist and shit and just not speak on things. that's not what feminism is. someone on tiktok said swift uses feminism to say "hating on me, a woman, isn't very feminist of you" and tbh i think that's the whole issue with swift and her fandom. they refuse criticism in the name of "feminism". swift has an incredible platform and she should be using it to spread awareness about important issues, such as the genocide in palestine or abortion rights, and if she was genuinely the feminist she claims she is she would be. she would be doing it right fucking now instead of biting her tongue only to bring it up when the conversation and murder is years old. and she?? fucking JUST dated a man known for saying slurs??? idc if it was just for publicity or they were genuinely interested in one another, that says a fuck ton about who she is. idc if you like her music or not, i genuinely think that she, as a person, is sly and cunning and is playing games to ensure her survival in hollywood rather than use her platform for good. if she spoke out for feminist beliefs, like abortion and pro-palestine and basic rights for disabled folk, she would push the subjects into the light in front of a massive fanbase and i fucking resent that she doesn't do that.

also. "'cause hate never turned anyone less gay" is in one of her title tracks and everyone acts like it's some fucking coming of christ but what sort of liberation comes from taylor swift, a straight white woman in the 1%, having one throw-away line about being gay. she's using it like her support is a fucking sparkler she can throw away as soon as the song's over.

Please talk about it I thought i was the only one who couldn't stand gw!les, not just because i think its forced, uneeded and lacks romantic chemistry but alot of the shippers are so fucking weird and annoying about it. And there's def a racism issue in that fandom and it's not just the cishet dudebro incels. But you can't say any criticism or it's "you just hate interracial relationships " or some bullshit

I just think miles has better options to explore for him and I just don't like the centering of white people in what's supposed to be a poc story or that they're pushing so hard to tie their stories together. Idc if shes a 'main character' she took up way to much time away from miles

YES the shippers are literally so nasty, i can’t. someone drew fanart of miles forcing gwen to dress sexually and that just made me solidify my hate towards the ship. they really just like it because it’s a ‘basic’ white girl and a black boy. like atsv was THE worst period of their relationship and in btsv, i hope they don’t put them together or i’mma riot.

he definitely does, he and margo sounds pretty cute. i just wnat more black love as a black person who constantly sees black men + white women in media. the only good time for black love in media was the 90’s and 2000’s. hobie and him sounds cute as well, it’ll irk hobie’s grown ass stans and the racist homophobes for sure. he just has so many more options than gwen, who hurt him so much that if it was me, i really woulda ghosted her back the way she did him.

don’t even get me started on the way she dragged miles with her web shooter like a dog on a damn leash because that made me not like her for them on. lord, that movie really showed a lot of things about her that i just can’t ignore like her stans.

they definitely wasted time tryna make her like the main character when it’s obviously miles. it’s his story and switching him out for gwen’s story line was really a waste because it just proved that gwen needa work on boundaries and other things in order to even be a good character to me

I watched a video the other day of top ten community episodes (and the five worst), and realized how nearly impossible that would be for me to do bc 90% of the show is so good to me. But I’m gonna try. I’m also gonna cheat bc it’s my post and idc.

Top 10 Best (aka my favorite) Community Episodes:

Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design - I wish I could watch this episode for the first time again because of the ride it took me on. I said it on here before but if there was only one episode I could recommend to someone from the series, it would be this. It’s so outlandish and fun that it’ll hook you into watching the series to understand how this school and these people got to this point and are just okay with it. Kevin Corrigan was a gem in this also. Anywho. The rest of these are all equally at 2 for me even tho I will be numbering them. Just understand that I love them all EQUALLY.

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - another episode I wish I could watch again for the first time. To tell that story in mostly bottle episode form was brilliant. Also, the acting was top notch. Again, not a lot for them to work off of in terms of action and movement, so for it to be SUCH a compelling episode with them just sitting around the study room table is just a testament to the brilliance and vision of Dan and the writers and the cast. And the Russos for directing this masterpiece.

Remedial Chaos Theory - I know this is going to be a shocker, but this is an episode I wish I could watch again for the first time. Darkest timeline intro. Cigarette gag. Pizza dance. Toilet olives. Arguably Troy’s most iconic gif (he has many). What else do I need to say?

Cooperative Calligraphy - again. Bottle episode brilliance. And the twist of it all! I remember watching it and being dumbfounded by the end. But also so heart-warmed at how the group overcame. It’s always the heart in this series that wins no matter how insane the premise might be.

Basic Lupine Urology- if I’m remembering correctly, this might be the first episode I watched live after restarting the series. I started when it aired but didn’t stick with it until til my mom caught Aerodynamics of Gender on a plane and said “Steph you gotta watch this episode of this show I just saw.” And the rest is history. But yeah. The deep regret I had watching this episode bc I’d deprived myself of 2 years of this show…no one was taking the swings community took and pulling it off THIS well. Super conceptual, super low stakes made to be incredibly important, and easily some of the best jokes of the season, maybe the series.

Epidemiology - I literally was stunned that they pulled off that concept so well. I think I watched again after finishing it the first time because I couldn’t believe it. This was also when we got the start of the dean’s iconic costumes, a cornerstone of this show. Also, I was legitimately scared the first time watching this! 😂

Critical Film Studies - I think this was some of the best story-telling on this show. A really sweet story at the heart of it (which is the show as a whole) wrapped in a hilarious and really creative premise paying homage to one of the most obscure movies ever.

Paradigms of Human History - for a long time, this was my favorite episode bc I couldn’t believe what they pulled off. I still can’t honestly, which is why it’s second on my list (remember I said these are all #2 after Conspiracy Theories). When they came back and did it again in Curriculum Unavailable, I was thrilled and once again stunned. (You can count Curriculum Unavailable as part of this list I guess). Leave it to Dan to spin the clip show concept.

Contemporary American Poultry - this episode is amazing and rightfully called one of the best of season one. This episode laid the groundwork for establishing just how whimsical and insane Greendale could be, and made everything that came after it believable. It was also so incredibly heartwarming and the start of a lot of jokes that were called back.

Basic Intergluteal Numismatics - similar to the reasons I love Basic Lupine Urology. The commitment to the genre, the callback to the ACB, a one off joke from 2 seasons before, the fact that it’s still a cold case. I love it so much.

Honorable Mentions:

Modern Warfare, A Fist Full of Paintballs, For a Few Paintballs More, and Modern Espionage - I feel like the paintball run is in a league of their own and unfair to put in a top 10 list. Clearly they are amazing and amongst the best episodes of the series. And yes I purposely left out Advanced Introduction to Finality. That was not paintball. 😭

Football, Feminism, and You - this is when the show hit its stride for me when I finally went back to watch. The pacing, the writing, the actors finally figuring out who their characters were for real, Troy’s politically conservative shamefully outdated fight raps. It’s a perfect episode of television to me and to find that so early in a series is pretty amazing.

Aerodynamics of Gender - the episode that got me back into the show. I owe it so much. Also gave me one of my favorite Troy line: “worth it.”

Regional Holiday Music - again, Harmon’s (and his writers’) mind in pulling off these highly conceptual episodes that feels real to the world they built and grounded. I’m forever in awe.

Basic Human Anatomy - YES. A season 4 episode made this list. Jim Rash wrote the hell outta this episode and it was the brightest spot on season 4.

Five Worst Episodes:

I won’t elaborate on these too much bc the basic idea is that they were not good and felt contrived despite the writers trying to maintain Harmon’s world and the actors giving it everything they had. Yes they’re all from the gas leak year.

Advanced Introduction to Finality

Heroic Origins (I like to pretend none of those origins took place bc too many plot holes)

Alternative History of the German Invasion

Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations (we deserved a better Jeff/William conflict and resolution and so did Jeff)

Conventions of Space and Time (this was a great concept that in Dan’s hands could’ve been brilliant)

You’re good, I haven’t been asked in awhile!

I’ve been thinking about this for a few minutes, and I think my faves are:

Mr. Malcolm’s List - funny, bratty, yet full of heart. Her performance was critically acclaimed and Julia Thistlewaite deserves the world

Fresh Meat - What can I say? Vod is amazing, bad ass, and probably would have raised me if I saw FM as a teen. Love that Zawe transformed herself for this character and love that she made lifelong friendships from this show 💖

Velvet Buzzsaw - Hear me out! I know this movie was panned, but idc Zawe ATE. Loved her as a snotty art ho, plotting her way to the top of the art scene. She wore the fuck out of those outfits too and her scenes with Jake and Daveed were sexy

Honorable mentions to Dreams of a Life and Wanderlust

As for the future, I’d love to see her in an ensemble comedy and another period piece since she loved the experience so much filming MML. I’m also looking forward to her second book and I hope she’s been working on it the past few years 🤞🏽

Personality/habits:

I get described as 'gremlin-like' and chaotic, and I can't really deny it. I'm usually pretty energetic and tend to have an optimistic point of view. I get nervous when meeting new people, so I starting talking a lot and really fast too. I always try to be the clown of the group and I think it's because I crave constant attention and validation. I have a habit of speaking pretty loud which just adds to that.

I'm ENTP, 7w8, Chaotic good if that's any help.

I also have a pretty good memory and seem to remember almost every single conversation with my friends word for word (im just trying to think of things to write about at this point..).

I'd say I can control my emotions pretty well, I've never snapped at my friends. It's hard for me to stay still so I fidget a lot. It's like I always have to be doing something.

My hobbies/interests:

I like writing short stories a lot. I just find it so cool that I can pour my emotions into a story then re-read it in a few months and relive the feeling.

I like baking as well! It's a nice way to pass time and the results are even better.

Love languages:

My giving love language is physical touch while my receiving one is quality time.

I'm pretty clingy and I like to hug people from behind. Literally any form of physical touch makes me happy. But when I get pushed away it's kinda like heart break for me. I feel kind of overdramatic when that happens.

Spending quality time together is a must. Idc how, where or when, I just want to be with the person I like. Let that be watching a movie together, cooking together or just talking. Quality tike makes me feel wanted and loved, so it's really important for me.

As for deal brakers: I'd say it would be being taken for granted. I'm a people pleaser, and when the other person doesn't appreciate the things I do for them. Also I hate being told to "calm down". It makes me feel annoying and too much.

Once he realises you crave attention and validation, he'll give it to you more often. He understands the need for validation too. Satan also tries to help you by showing you don't need to be the clown of the group to be accepted. Just be yourself and whoever stays is a real friend. The rest are just aquaintances. Yes it's ironic given his title as lord of fools.

Satan likes your good memory! You're so attentive to what he says it just makes him feel all warm inside. He feels at ease with you. He also highly encourages you to write. He's a pretty harsh critic but it's for your own good.

Satan isn't a very touchy guy. It's gonna take time for him to warm up like that! And he's pretty private about it too. It doesn't mean he'll push you away, he just won't initiate in public. He'll explain this boundary to you so there won't be fights/he won't upset you. He pushed you away the first time and instantly regreted it. It resulted in a long discussion where both your boundaries were set. Besides that he likes baking with you! He's a good cook and overall, he likes doing domestic things with his lover.

It’s been a little while since a decent post from me so I just want to quick rant about how amazing An American Werewolf in London is.

I know this movie is like from 1981 and so I am probably going to be saying what so many critics have already said but idc I watched it finally in full (I’ve seen the whole thing but not in one full sitting) recently and I am just so in love with it.

The movie manages to be one of the best monster horrors, the best werewolf horror, and one of the best transformation/body horror with classic effects out there, all while being funny. The idea that you are haunted by everyone you kill as the wolf is such a brutal and horrible concept and I adore it so so so much. I love Jack and his attitude so much that even in death, even though he has the goal of convincing David to kill himself, he’s still able to sit with his friend and crack a joke or somewhat shoot the shit, unable to help himself with his best friend.

The transformation scenes are so disgustingly iconic they make me feel sick in the best way. I love that they showed you a longer and more brutal scene, but even the brief transformation in the adult theater is still grotesque by showing you his nails splitting open it’s so foul! I hate it! In a loving way!!!

Also I forgot how the doc Hirsch decided to play detective for literally no other reason than the greater good. Who would go out of their way to actually do that?? That ends up leaning into the comedy of it a little, for me—the absurdity of it.

The ending is also so iconic and good and creates a singular moment of wonder: was David even a werewolf at all?? Personally I think he was, there’s enough in the movie to show that werewolves are legitimate, but I appreciate the framing of Alex as she implores for David to come back to himself and he’s entirely off-frame. She’s strangely calm for seeing a wolf creature covered in blood—unless it’s NOT a wolf, but David, crouching and delirious. It’s a cool little “what if Hirsch is right and he’s just paranoid and mad” question?

I feel like they could have made the mystery to it stronger and found ways to bring it in stronger—for example I wish during all the victim scenes, I wish we never saw David or the wolf, but it was all entirely 1st person when he was “in the scene” so we never fully get confirmation of his appearance during the full moon. I also wish we had more time with the concept of the undead haunting the werewolf. Jack was great, I just wish we had more of him and more of the other victims, too.

I think Alex is certainly a product of her time, she’s well-written for what the purpose of her character is in the story, but I think we could have explored her more and maybe her fascination with David. Maybe she’s a bit of weirdo herself, it was sometimes implied that she’s into weird people and I got the vibe of falling for handsome patients, but I would have liked to learn a bit more about her in those regards. She’s more or less a vessel to get David from the hospital to a residence.

I looooooove the phone call David has at the end with his I believe little sister? I wish we got to know a bit more about his background, relationship to his family, etc. Because I’m a family man, that phone call tore at me, and I wish I had a bit more of it, but I also get if they didn’t want to get too grim since it was still a comedy.

Overall, amazing movie and a 1981 film having some of the best monster, transformation, and horror scenery of any movie is so shocking to me and makes me like hello step up to so many of the modern movies churned out nowadays.

100000/10, would recommend.

THAT IS WHY MARY SUES ARE BAD WRITING. THANK YOU REVIEW AUTHOR FOR NOTING THAT.

first off: let's let go of the idea that a Mary Sue is any Strong Female Character, or that telling people not to write Mary Sues means you're an evil anti-feminist who want to crush the female power fantasy. Not every power fantasy is a Mary Sue.

Listen, Mary Sues are beginner level writing. Everyone makes them when they start out because you're mad with writing-power and want to make the best most amazing character who wins all the time and is everything you wish you were. Also, if you're like me you're probably very sentimental about your characters and don't want to hurt your precious babies. As you improve as a writer you learn how to nerf your characters just so to make the plot interesting, how to hurt them in ways that move the story forward, and realize it's fun to not write perfect people all the time. I'm not saying you can never write a Mary Sue again or if you still choose to you're a bad writer, but you know what an audience vs. just yourself are going to find interesting. Just like how when you're an adult you can choose to watch the new Jordan Peele horror or the Disney princess movie. You don't have to abandon the latter just bc you grew.

Anyway, after that spiel please no one @ me like "well I like writing Mary Sues because girl power you killjoy!!" If you wanna write them, then write them, idc unless I'm discussing a published book, in which case all criticism is fair and it's open season.

Now onto the real meat of the post.

Having an overpowered-to-the-point-of-perfection MC who has the power to nullify any danger and avoid the entire plot bc she's so powerful and smart and cool and pretty makes for an extremely boring story, because there are no stakes.

if your MC is so beautiful any love interest is instantly smitten, so smart she can outwit anyone, so sneaky she can spy and thieve with ease, so good at combat she can beat any foe, so well adjusted that no past or present trauma has deeply affected her in a way that can alter the plot, and has magic powers that can allow her to do anything from making instant valuable gems to teleportation...there are no obstacles. she can instantly fight, sneak, bribe, seduce, outwit, or just teleport away from any foe. she can kill without feeling too bad about it. the only way to get the plot rolling is to make her so passive that she takes no action until forced or reminded to, and just lets the plot carry her along until one of the above happens (and probably mentally berates herself for being stupid, because the meek shall inherit the earth or whatever).

Mary Sues ruin the fun because as a reader you know nothing will happen that will actually affect the MC. they're never in any real danger, there's no situation they can't escape from, and they're already smart and well spoken and kind and humble (but can also execute any perfect mic-drop line the author thinks up) so there's nowhere for them to go.

stories aren't just about defeating the villain or solving the puzzle, they're also about how those experiences grow and change people. it doesn't always have to be tragic and grimdark, but I find if the characters don't have good arcs a story is always a little less fulfilling.

Wild how they paused production in the 30's to nail down Pinoke's design and Walt hated all the ones that were Too Puppety, and Milt Kahl whipped out his banger that was used in the final? Ain't it strange how they've re-puppeted his look and plunged him into the Uncanny Valley?

im so glad you brought that up. i think it's incredible that they were SO dedicated to making a good film/story that they stopped production to make sure it was right (and ultimately changed the story, and character, so drastically lol). this is a risk for any company let alone a (AT THE TIME) smaller one like disney (which of course didn't really pay off as it was a box office failure despite massive critical acclaim- the war is to blame here)

it is legitimately insulting to do this remake. idc if that sounds dramatic im losing it. it's insulting to milt kahl, insulting to Everyone Who Worked On This Movie. he looks so bad he looks uncanny he's far too toy-like for the purpose of disney's original adaption. as a stand-alone 3d model i'd say he's cute but you can just tell the second he moves it's NOT going to be good... even his eyes look bad... what has HAPPENED

this does NOT extend to the 3d artists unfortunately tasked to work on this i know theyre doing their best- it's just so massively depressing to see such an important piece of art be used for greed when it was originally a creation of passion and love

To your question: (thank you so much for asking btw, I was genuinely shocked when I saw your ask bc I was like, “people care about stuff like that?” It makes me sooo happy🤭🥰🤗)

So, this is usually my process:

- idea —> general idea of what a storyline could be (e.g.: enemies to lovers with a CEO!Au)

- then, more details about the story: characters, their personalities, setting etc.

- while I think about the characters and a little bit more about the plot, specific scenes will pop into my head over the course of a few days usually, or I’ll read a book and see something I like, watch a show/movie with a scene that inspires me

- then, obviously I have to think about where I want it to begin and how I want it to end

- information on certain things is also really important to me! For amour-haine & Co. I looked at different positions in companies, their meanings, words from programming, etc. names for the companies in the series, and so on. If I write about stuff I don’t know much about (like being a CEO) I do like informing myself to get somewhat of an idea. Of course, I’ll never get it 100% right and it’s still a work of fiction, but I really like learning new stuff, so it’s not too bad to actually inform myself🤗 I’m also always very happy and thankful to receive criticism and/or tips when it comes to that. If you know about certain stuff better than me, please tell me and educate me!

- throughout the course of the entire writing process, I will come up with new ideas for seve idc scenes I want to include in the story at some point. Again, through books, tv, just my head, or even anons and moots will text me about an idea they have (always open for ideas! I love seeing what you have to say!)🤗 this process makes the story as long as it could possibly be. I never would’ve imagined for Amour-Haine & Co. to have more than 10 chapters and now I have more than enough content that I still want to include for quite a good amount of more chapters. That’s why I love not having a fixed storyline because I always find something new that I like :)

- while writing chapters I sometimes also get random ideas for lines or entire plots that I want to include, so I’ll add those too and before I know it one chapter has +7k words. It’s crazy how you don’t even realise how much you’re writing and then suddenly I’ll go, “but what I wanted to originally happen, didn’t even happen yet…” but then I’ll usually just include it in the following chapter. Chanyeol was supposed to appear around chapter 5 in my head because I never thought that I would write that much, but nope😂 he mad whiz first appearance in chapter 9

Very often I’ll also get random ideas and immediately have to write them down into my notes on my phone because I’ll forget them otherwise. That’s how I’ve been spending my free minutes at work to pass the time. Thinking and writing😂

How long does it take me to write a chapter is a difficult question to answe, because I could write one with like 4k words within 2-3 hours, but now I like having longer chapters, so they usually take me around 8-9 hours I want to say… (including deleting scenes because I hate how I wrote and rewriting them) I also used to hate having to write across multiple days because every now and then I’d forget what I wrote and I would have to re-read it and I hate that😂 but now, especially for my current series, I often do have to write across multiple days because of uni and work. So, I’ll write a bit in the evening at 10pm and then after waking up at around 8am, then get back to it at 5pm, then one day I won’t have time at all to write, so I try to write double of what I would usually write on the following day, and so on

While typing this, I realised how insane some of this sounds, but anyways, this is somewhat my process😅🤗 thank you again for asking!!♥️♥️

Happy back-to-school y’all

I’ve attended and worked at a couple of super liberal universities. I avoid the gender studies departments for obvious reasons and I still had a lecture in which the female prof gave a brief overview of TERFs and proclaimed her hatred of JKR. Being openly critical of gender ideology, the porn industry, kinks, and ‘sex work’ are the kind of things that can ruin your future in academia. Not to mention the fact that any speech or actions that could be labelled transphobic (ie. defining woman as adult human female) can get you a suspension according to many universities anti-hate-speech policies.

So, here’s a list of small and smallish (small in terms of overt TERFery, some may require more effort than others) radical feminist actions you can take as a university student:

(this is a liberal arts perspective so if you’re a stem gal this may not apply. but also if you’re in stem maybe you can actually acknowledge that women are oppressed as a sex class without getting kicked out of school. idk)

(Note for TRAs hate reading this: One of the core actions of radical feminism is creating female networks. This is not so that we can brainwash people into being anti-trans. This is because female solidarity is necessary for creating class consciousness and overturning patriarchy. It is harder to subjugate the female sex when we stand together.)

Take classes with female profs. Multiple sections of a class? Pick the one taught by a woman. Have to chose an elective? Only look at electives offered by women. When classes have low numbers they get cancelled. When classes are super popular, universities are forced to consider promoting the faculty that teach them

Make relationships with these female profs. Go to office hours. Chat after class. Ask them about their research. Building female networks is sooooo important!

Actually fill in your end of year course feedback forms. Profs often need these when applying for tenure or applying for a job at another university so it is very important (especially with young and/or new profs) that you fill out these forms and give specific examples of how great these women are. Go off about what you love about them! Give her a brilliant review because you know the idiot boy in that class who won’t shut up even though he knows nothing is going to give her only negative feedback because he thinks any woman who leaves the house is a feminazi b*tch.

(note: obviously don’t go praising any prof - female or male - who is blatantly racist, homophobic, etc.)

(Also if you have shitty male profs write down all the horrible things they have done and said and put it in these forms because once a shitty man gets tenure they are virtually untouchable)

(also also, leave a good review on rate my profs or whatever other thing students use to figure out if they want to take classes. idc if you copy paste your feedback from the formal review. rave about the class to your friends. do what you can to get good enrolment for that prof for reasons above.)

Participate in class. Talk over the male students. Say what you mean and mean it. Call out the boys when they say dumb shit

Write about women. If you have the option to make a text written by a woman your primary text in an essay, do it. Pick the female-centred option if you’re writing an exam-essay with multiple prompts. (Profs often look at what works on their syllabus are being written about/engaged with as a marker of whether to keep those texts the next time they teach the class. If there are badass women on your syllabus, write about them to keep them on the syllabus) Use female-written secondary sources whenever possible.

(pro tip: many women in academia are more than happy to talk to you about their papers. expand your female networks by reaching out to article authors through email and asking them about their cool shit)

Get your essays published! Many departments have undergrad journals you can publish in. This will ensure more people read about the women you write about and will demonstrate to the department that people like learning about women

Consider trying to publish your undergrad essay with a legit peer-reviewed journal. If you can do it, your use of female-written secondary sources boosts the reputations of the women who wrote those secondary sources. Also this helps generally to increase scholarship about women’s writing!

Present your papers at conferences! Many schools have their own undergraduate/departmental conferences that you can present at. Push yourself by submitting to outside conferences. Bring attention to women’s works by presenting your papers. Take a space at a conference that would otherwise be reserved for mediocre men

Talk to your profs and/or your department and/or your university about mandating the inclusion of female works in classes if this isn’t something they do already

Sit next to other women in your classes. Talk to them. Make friends. Form study groups. Proofread each other’s essays. Give each other knowing looks when the boys are being dumb. Just interact with other women! Build those female networks!

Be generous with your compliments. A female classmate and I were talking to a prof after class and the classmate told me (out of the blue) that I always have such interesting things to say. I think about that whenever I’m lacking confidence about my academic skills. Compliment the women in your classes for speaking up, for sharing their opinions, for challenging your classmates/profs, for doing cool presentations, etc.

Talk to other women about sexist things going on on campus. Make everyone aware of the sexist profs. Complain about how there are many more tenured men than tenured women. Go on rate my professor and be explicit about how the sexist profs are sexist

Be active on campus and in societies. If a society has an all male executive or is male-dominated, any women who join that society make it less intimidating for more women to join. Run for executive positions! Bring in more women!

(Pro tip: Many societies’ elections are super gameable. You can be eligible to vote in a society election sometimes just by being a student at that university — even without having done anything with the society before. Other societies might just require that you’ve taken a class in a particular department or attended a society event. (Check the society’s governing documents.) Use those female networks you’ve been building. If you can bring three or four random people to vote for you, that might be enough for you to win. Societies have trouble meeting quorum (the minimum number of people in attendance to do votes) so it is really super achievable to rig an election with a few friends. And don’t feel bad about this. The system is rigged against women so you have every right to exploit loopholes!)

(Also feel free to go vote “non-confidence”/“re-open election” if only shitty men are running. Too often people see that only candidates they don’t like are running and so they give up. But you can actually stop them getting elected)

Your campus may have a LGBTQIA+alphabetsoup society. That society definitely needs more L and B women representation. It may be tedious to argue with the nb straight dudes who insist that it’s fine to use “q***r” in the society’s posters and that attraction has nothing to do with genitals, but just imagine what could happen if we could make these sorts of societies actually safe spaces for same-sex attracted women and advocated for our concerns

Attend random societies’ election meetings. Get women elected and peace out. (or actually get involved but I’m trying to emphasize the lowest commitment option with this one)

Write for the campus newspaper. Write about what women are doing - women’s sports, cool society activities, whatever. Review female movies, books, tv shows, local theatre productions. Write about sexism on campus. We need more female by-lines and more stories about women

Get involved with your campus’s sexual assault & r*pe hotline/sexual assault survivor’s centre/whatever similar organization your campus has if you can. This is hard work and definitely not for everyone (pls take care of yourself first, especially if you are a survivor)

(If your campus doesn’t have an organization for supporting survivor’s of sexualized violence, start one! This is probably going to be a lot of hard work though, so don’t do it alone)

Talk to your student council about providing free menstrual hygiene products on campus if your campus doesn’t already do this. If your campus provides free condoms (which they probs do), use that as leverage (ie. ‘sex is optional, menstruation is not. so why do we have free condoms and no free pads?’)

If you’re an older student, get involved with younger students (orientation week and such activities are good for this). Show the freshman that you can be a successful and well-liked woman without shaving your legs, wearing heels, wearing make-up, etc. Mentor these young women. Offer to go for coffee or proofread essays.

Come to class looking like a human being. Be visibly make-up less, unshaven, unfeminine, etc. to show off the many different ways of being a woman

Talk to the custodial staff and learn their names. (I know there are men who work in this profession, but it is dominated by low-income women) Say hi in the hallways, ask them about their lives, show them they’re appreciated

Be explicit with your language. When you are talking about sex-based oppression, say it. Don’t say ‘sex worker’ when you mean survivor of human trafficking. This tip is obviously a bit tricky in terms of overt TERFyness, so use your best judgement

Open Letter to Tom Hiddleston and Whoever Else Wants To Read This

A/N: Ok, long post, lots of nostalgia below, some Loki series criticism, so please click away if you can't stomach that or be nice. I don't know if this counts as an open letter but I was extremely emotional while writing this. I cried a bit, too. Anyway.

Sylki, lokius, Loki series fans, Thor: Ragnarok and beyond fans please don't interact with this post. And if you still read it, that is on you, please don't make your presence known at the very least.

I'm going through my old, old bookmarks and reading lists of Tom Hiddleston fics (I'm not super into RPF but these were the masterpieces that could've been novels in their own right) and I feel so damn nostalgic. Most of these were written in/based around 2011-2014, and they have a totally different feel from recent fanfics. Not in a good or bad way, but in terms of vibes. The whole Thor 1- Thor 2 feel going on, and baby Tom, it's just ;-; I can't explain it. I haven't read a single TH fic in years (especially after the series came out, I just haven't been able to read TH fics written even by the authors here that I love dearly.) It might just be that I miss the Old Tom™ who cared about Loki and that reflects in these fics, and maybe it's me chasing after a mirage (even though I'm definitely old enough and mature enough to not ever have the delusion of thinking I'm ever gonna date him lol) but like. I just miss him. Which isn't my place to say or anyone else's place to say for that matter because he doesn't belong to us, but it would be so nice to go back to 2013 and experience Hall H (idc if it's virtually or whatever, but that was GOOD) and everything else and just. Tom caring about Loki and feeling so deeply about the character. I miss that so much. My mom asks me frequently why I don't gush over Tom anymore and says she wishes I showed her pics and vids of Tom again (she has a weird fascination with Tom dancing compilations and that song from the pirate Tinkerbell movie he did.) I never know what to tell her and I've spent a year dodging her questions because it really fucking Hurts, you know? It hurts to look up Loki content on youtube or tumblr or wherever and be blasted with content from the series. It hurts to open up Tumblr and the first post on my dash is a GIFset from the series. It hurts to see a character I've known and loved for so long but to not recognize him. It hurts to see the man playing him, the man I used to respect and admire and look up to so much, so flippantly throwing around words about the character that just aren't true in any sense. It hurts to know that Old Tom™ would most definitely throw a punch at Present Tom, regardless of how nice and peaceful he is, for the things he's said. When did it all change? I can't imagine how this came to be. I'm looking through my old reading lists and I'm reading 10 year old beautifully crafted fanfics (that are till date some of the best fics I've ever read) about the character dancing with Old Tom™ in his living room, wearing his shirt and talking about Loki and his dreams for the character in hushed whispers, and I'm crying because we could've had so much more and it was taken so ruthlessly from us. It was all so much easier in 2014. I want to go back to 2014.
