To make this ranking, all series titles in the Other Media category on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then manually filtered since not all web video series were marked as such.

Locked fanworks aren't included in the count because Wayback Machine can’t view those, only Ao3 users can.

Many authors started locking their works starting December 2022. It's most likely the reason the number of fanworks decreased or slowed down in 2023.

I think the most interesting and unexpected thing so far about rewatching the Lizzie Bennet Diaries is the realization that a lot of things that felt like they stretched credibility back in 2012-2013 as regards oversharing on the internet... just no longer seem as unbelievable. The rise of TikTok and other bite-sized, share-all video platforms means that it suddenly doesn’t seem quite as weird (unfortunately) to have someone sharing highly personal information on the internet, including people in their videos without their consent, and so on. Of course there were vloggers like that at the time, but it still felt just a tiny bit performative and off. But videos today often feel that level of scripted and performative, it’s just how things have gone. And so... not quite as jarring.

Here I was, expecting to rewatch and find all of the things that have aged poorly. And while those are certainly there, the format, if anything, feels more relevant. Fascinating.

I am going to scream cry throw up that we ALMOST got a Lizzie Bennet Diaries movie WRITTEN BY ASHLEY CLEMENTS and didn't because Bernie Su is an asshole.

So in a modern setting Mr and Mrs Bennet would probably be divorced because the whole point of their dynamic is that they aren't suited for each other. But I really like what the Lizzie Bennet Diaries did in that Mr and Mrs Bennet are outwardly mismatched but very much in love and it is implied that Mr. Bennet accidentally taught Lizzie that roasting is a love language and Mrs. Bennet accidentally taught Lizzie that jumping to ridiculous conclusions is also a love language which actually fits perfectly into the plot of Lizzie's love story.

If you've ever wondered why Pemberly Digital started to fizzle out so hard during Emma Approved and then we never got to see the cast of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries again even after @theashleyclements wrote a script for a movie, wonder no more.

In this video I tell you maybe 10% of the information that you get when you watch all of Ashley Clements's look back diaries podcast, and I can't recommend that series highly enough if you want to understand a little bit more about what we're looking at here but this made me so mad. I had to stand around and talk about it for a little bit
