the small council meeting came to an end, and yet, there was a matter that he did not wish to discuss with the small council; not as of yet, considering it involved business and family. and whilst the small council were some of the most loyal members of the realm, the blood of the lannisters meant that family would always remain a level above them; even that which run within those of golden tooth, who defended the entrance to their realm. and it was for that reason the sounds of the king's crier announcing his arrival echoed within a bustling hallway, merely two hours after the lord commander completed his shift, the crowds of westerland courtiers splitting like the sea itself as the lion king walked through the middle.

"with me." and the lord commander followed after him with nothing more being needed than the nod of a head, closing the door behind him; the man remained stood, knowing there were multiple matters he needed to speak with leo lefford about - only one of them was regarding the position of lord commander. the other? was regarding the position of being ruling lord of house lefford, a brother to those of lannister blood, and their kinship.
their sacred kinship. tyland: he looked upon the man who was his family; and thus, he trusted him. trusted him to complete his duty, to know what was needed to serve this realm and ensure they did not lose themselves to all the gods had blessed them with. that they remained a pride firmly on the ground, alert, aware of their surroundings and their enemies - unlike the arryns, their heads within the clouds. the only way to ensure their dominance would be to move forward, to look to the sky; for if he could, he would conquer that too.
"i need eyes in kings landing following the banking deal. your sister lenora will marry the green prince; jaehaerys has the title and the status within his own realm to ensure her a comfortable life."

when and where; house bracken's intimate yule celebrations within stone hedge, brianna bracken finally speaks to the member of house lefford she had been sort of avoiding.
usually, the ruling lord of stone hedge did not mix festivities with other affairs: whether it be political or business. especially during the season of yule, which was once the most cherished of all festivities by house bracken. it still was, to some extent, however it had not been the same in many a year; a quiet sense of togetherness found in trying to get through the period. usually, being the main focus here; seeing as this year, ronan had decided to once again restart the festivities within stone hedge. the decoration had been grander, which only made the ancient keep seem cosier and more inviting than it usually was.
when he informed her that he would be inviting house lefford to the celebrations, both as a sign of warmth to maintain connections, as well as discuss the matter of lady gold with leo lefford, it seemed to make sense. it did make sense.
and so why had she been quietly avoiding making eye contact for too long with the ruling lord of golden tooth, who had last seen her when they danced together within the reach? why was it the sight of leo lefford within the hallways and the halls of her home seemed to make her feel a strange blur of emotions; amusement, shyness, curiosity. as though she would not have pictured him here, within one of the warmest places of all the riverlands at such a special time of year. and it was only time the lady of stone hedge approached her guest, in a mirror of what she had done the first time they had met; quietly taken the seat beside him rather than opposite him this time.
only after she had taken to the dance floor for the majority of the night, particularly being spun so much by fergus blackbar she was hardly able to walk straight for a minute or so when he finally put her down. "hello." her voice greeted him, almost sheepish in nature. this was all rather strange to her, and she detested how she did not know why. all he was doing was sitting there, a drink in his hand; they had danced this dance before. why was it different this time? she had seen her brother speaking to him earlier in the evening, watching from the corner of her eye as he confirmed the identity of lady gold.
it was strange to think it were something only the three of them in the entire room knew of. the explosion they seemed to be sitting on. there was a momentary quiet between them, her hands resting together; she did not fiddle with them.
"nobody will hear a word from me about it all." she assured, knowing he needed privacy to deal with the literal treason in his household. she lowered her voice slightly, referencing to when he approached the lady turnberry that worked in his own household. her words trailed slightly as she saw the sight of ronan, fergus and omer all seemingly dancing with drinks in their hands, a slight laugh slipping from her lips. "other than that, how are you finding everything? visiting the riverlands during yule is certainly the choice." she did not ask him how he found stone hedge. there were no issues with his accommodation, she had made sure of it.

He'd just passed Elliot and Isla leaving, with Elliot's new fiancée waving her hands wildly. "I'd say you're playin' with fire, but maybe it's worth it?" He grins at her canting his head to the side a bit. "Do I get an extra slice today? You know, considering I might not come back tomorrow?" And considering the fact he'd fucked her hard into the late hours of the night. There was no goodbye, of course, but he figured she wasn't expecting any. He'd set a precedent the past few months, and had slipped out before morning. It doesn't stop him from flirting, though, he's ever a Cross – always testing boundaries and pressing buttons. Well, Brody managed to talk her down from a ledge for a few minutes. That's no small feat. And when Hazel made the decision to leap from the cabin in a rush towards the depot, she'd forgotten one very important thing. Her literal daughter, who was the literal reason for literally wanting to be there, right? But now she's here, Lu-less. Watching Leo prepare a truck with his cousins. Now, it seems like she's forgotten why she felt such a strong urge to say anything else to him. Good luck was fine, Brody literally said so. It tends to happen like this, doesn't it Haze? Good ideas seem not so good all of the sudden. She frowns to herself, thankful that she's not been noticed yet. Until, Leo turns from the bed of the truck and their eyes meet. Which Hazel promptly breaks, an obvious pondering over her face. Shit, she has to think of something now. He's walking to her. She has to think of something.
"Almost ready?" she gestures to the truck, purposely so she can peer around him instead of to him. "I was just...gonna help out here but looks like you got enough people." Hazel shrugs then, her hands clapping together as she takes a step backwards to mark her exit. Oh...that means a goodbye. "Good luck." again.

setting: casterly rock shortly after the court of new valyria's arrival to the westerlands.
lenora was silent but smiling as she looked at her cerissa with a silver-haired babe in her arms. while she knew not everyone would be happy to see her return to the westerlands, she had still been excited to introduce the twins to her family. despite her fallout with calla, she was convinced the red-haired lefford would wish to see her nephew. she reached out to take aegor's hand as he was held by cerissa. "i hope aegor will be as strong as his name one day." he would need all the strength he could muster as king. "maybe his uncle can teach him some tricks." she looked at leo with a sad smile. he was the only uncle left now after the deaths of leander and viserys.
she was holding tybolt as he started wiggling in her grasp, forcing her to let go of aegor's small hand to keep hold of him. she was still new to life with small children, always afraid of not holding them correctly or accidentally dropping them. but she had gradually gotten more comfortable with it as the twins had gotten bigger and less fragile.
she gently bounced her son until he stopped fussing and then carefully handed the babe to calla. "and this is little tybolt." lenora once again found herself hoping that calla's anger towards her would not be transferred to the small boy. but she had a feeling that it would not. "he's not fond of being still for too long." while she saw her children every day, she did not spend endless hours with them, but she got reports from their wetnurses and nursemaids every evening. motherhood had not been as frightening as it once appeared, but it was still scary to love someone so much that the idea of any harm befalling them made her chest tighten until she could hardly breathe. her hazel eyes went to gaze at leo who was the only one left without a child in his arms. "sorry, brother, it seems we have run out of babes. you will have to share." she stifled a laugh but amusement could be seen in her eyes.
lenora took a step back. "they look much more targaryen than lefford." while she had hoped for silver-haired babes then there was still some disappointment to see how little they took after her despite her being the one to carry them for all those moons. only tybolt had a slight resemblance to her. aegor was all jaehaerys. "but it will make life easier for them in new valyria."

It's funny to think that as a trainee, Baek doesn't remember ever having to look this ridiculous in front of cameras. He has had his fair share of awkward and disastrous moments when only a handful of people were present, but these moments wouldn't be eternalized on the internet. Now that he's a debuted idol, he doesn't think his track will remain intact for much longer.
Especially when he's covered in flour when Leo looks almost spotless. Baek stopped trying to clean himself from the mess they'd made a while ago, but once he was close enough to Leo, he dusted off some of the flour on the older's sleeve, "How does it feel to be the most privileged of the bunch, hyung?", he teases with a smile, "being old has its perks, huh?"

Even if you’re busy looking after all that you have, I think you’ll aim to leave a good legacy behind and that will show early on in your marriage. You’ll be concerned about making good choices not only for the now, but for the future as well. You’re both very smart, witty people. I feel like you may also have a joint bank account, or some other way of holding each other accountable and looking after your material gains. I don’t see any “controlling” behavior here, but more so two people who are enthusiastic about how far they’ve come and how far they can go.
You’re both super hard workers as well. Honestly, it’s possible you may not spend as much time with them as you want to, but I think even when you’re away for a few hours, running errands or working, you’ll miss them. Proud to announce that @teaableu and I are going to start posting the comic today!

"I gotta head on watch soon but..." he shrugs, "I can, uh, take her to the p-a-r-k?" Spelled in case Everett has other plans and, considering that Leo can't spend the entire afternoon, he begrudgingly defers to Lucy's grandfather. "Or has she eaten?" He inquires as Lucy finally lets go of Everett's hand and runs to him. He'd let out a breath of relief when she finally got used to having him around, and now, when she runs to him, he can feel the tightness in his chest loosen. @secrettyrant

- you’ve served leona this once bc he was having a bad day and now he demands to make it again with him present. him? oh no, he’s not helping. he’ll watch you. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ - leona has no cooking experience whatsoever, never touched a pot or pan in his life but you insist he helps you just a little bit for your aesthetics. he’s staring, hard, in confusion when you hand him a whisk and tell him to combine the eggs, oil, vanilla, and milk together. after a few seconds of staring at each other, you had to stifle a laugh, he looked so awkward…
- you would stand between him and the counter, guiding his hands to mix the ingredients. he was strangely enjoying this, it was domestic, romantic. mushy. but you looked so happy and your eyes sparkled with joy :(<3. also refuses to put the cake in the oven if you don’t agree to at least lay down with him while he naps. you can do whatever you want to do as long as you’re laying down. will never get over the first time you gave him coffee cake and he was weirdly energetic, was it the amount of sugar? you’ll never know.
- the one time he decides to send a letter home is to talk about the absolutely free cooking lessons he’s getting from a little herb’ he managed to rub off on. not that you’re dating him or anything, your just a lil’ herb that gives him kisses. sleeping in the same bed? banish the thought. actually, he’s made an extra coffee cake every time he makes them with you, extra sugar. when you ask, leona claims its nothing, simply made too much batter. he’s actually giving them to cheka, saying that its from you, no hesitation in giving his s/o credit in their amazing cooking.
- once leona improves in making his favorite dessert with you, his tail has a little content sway as he whisks everything together. will never let you mix anything now, he takes it before you can even try. the kitchen is always trashed while you both cook because it somehow turns into a war. both of you covered head to toe in flour and brown sugar. he’s definitely gotten more confident and languid in his cooking skills in such a short time period, you’re so proud :’)
“herbivore, you forgot the vanilla.”
“did you memorize the recipe, leo?”
“no. don’t forget the salt ‘nd i already set out the half cup of milk for you.”

- jack has, many times, had to cook for his energetic little siblings so he’s pretty experienced in the kitchen. once he saw you happily feeding his siblings and he almost fainted, baby fever was through the roof. now he frequently cooks with you, with his siblings around most of the time. that day he got to see you in such a different light he needed to see it again even if that means hearing childish ewie’s in the background when he kisses you. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ - he was already head over heels when you started bring him sliced pears while he works out so why not try cooking with you and seeing how you do certain things compared to him. jack most likely takes inspiration from making this snack with you.
- literally loves how you would see if his siblings approve of the dish before actually giving it to him like he wasn’t gonna love it anyway.
- he’s such a gentleman in the kitchen, taking over when you get tired, making sure you don’t burn or injure yourself, down to cleaning your hands when you get oatmeal on them :(. sometimes he would have trouble on the measurements of certain ingredients so you have to help him with that. his favorite part is topping his plate with the ice cream, may not be very healthy but manne who cares? he’s spending time with you <3

- ruggie is completely obvious when it comes to cooking. watched his grandma cook, like, once. willingly lets you teach him though, long as you get to hold his hands, you must thoroughly help him. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ - genuinely surprised when you came up to him with a glorious plate of donuts. what are these for? free food? why? his birthday’s in april, its may🤨. you can literally see the cogs in his brain turning as his gaze flickers between you and the donuts. INSISTS you feed him a bite, and UGHH KISS THE CHEF. the most delicious thing he’s had in the past four months besides rlly good dandelion seeds, dare he say your donuts are slightly better than his gammy-gam’s😧😧.
- sly little bastard most definitely flirts with you n gets you all embarrassed so he can dip his finger in the bowl of the melted chocolate. he’s so patient though! you literally just stare at him focusing, does the little thing where his tongue sticks out from his mouth in concentration <3 the recipe doesnt call for whipped cream, but he loves whipped cream. please make little hearts on top of his donuts with whipped cream :(
- the type to absolutely become the most feral in the kitchen, energy, life, laughter, the fun never stops. he has the biggest potty mouth (twin) does not hold back. even when hes pouring the chocolate on the donut and the tiniest drop gets on the counter, its just “shit >:[“ he does stupid things and also learns new things from you everyday.
- this one time, you showed him that if you warm up a jumbo marshmallow, you could eat about three times more than the original size and he was like :O!! never eats marshmallows the same anymore. ruggie puts like four on a plate, they grow so big it sticks to the top of the microwave. still eats it though, tops it like it was a big gourmet meal, a win is a win‼️ fiwb!!!!😭😭
“no fuckin’ shot marshmallows grow in the microwave, they ain’t plants.”
“uh-huh! look at it!”
