The Young Assassin
The Story of Young Justice’s Leila al Ghūl
part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6
—————
INFINITY ISLAND
November 12, 02:28 EST
1995
Leila al Ghūl was born, but not in the way you’d expect. Leila was created using the egg of Ra’s al Ghūl’s young daughter, Talia, and the essence of the finest assassin his League of Shadows had to offer. Leila was nothing more than a weapon to her grandfather. The means they had to growing a child outside of the womb was quite unusual, but how else do you create the perfect specimen? Well, she was almost perfect, aside from the fact that she wasn’t the heir Ra’s was looking for.
Nonetheless, Leila was raised among the assassins, training beside them to rise above them. She was always told if she wanted to be in charge one day, she would have to best everyone on the island. Or else she would disappoint Grandfather. Disgrace the family name. The manipulation went on and on. Her mother made an effort to train he daughter as well, but Talia was only 11 years old when her daughter had finished developing in the incubator. She didn’t feel like a mother, she was forced to be.
Years of brutal training were in store for Leila, the supposed heir of the League of Shadows. But it all felt hopeless. The girl had no joy, no childhood, just constant combat, the need to prove herself, a desire to achieve what she had been destined to do. Leila didn’t disappoint, especially for a young child, only seven years old. Already lethal, they proved that after deploying her on her first mission.
Two dozen confirmed kills. From a seven year old. I suppose she had the upper hand, an inconspicuous opponent, just a harmless little girl until they sic her on you. It was a mission she’d never be able to forget—no matter how hard she tried.
A notable enemy, Batman. Also a desired ally, as told by her grandfather. Bruce Wayne, suddenly in the running for the new Head of Shadows. Leila could say she was a bit jealous that there was an outsider being considered for a position she was promised, and she would do anything to protect that position.
It was never a problem to her, not having a childhood. She didn’t know what it was. Leila was given knowledge and training from the beginning, “fun” was a foreign concept. There would be a few laughs here and there, but Infinity Island was all business.

Batman reappeared every once in a blue moon, and she wanted a piece of him. She was small, quick, stealthy, well-balanced, an opponent the Bat never dreamed of going against. Leila worked so fast, he couldn’t even tell he was fighting a child. She was just a kid. And she put up a good fight, too. Batman wasn’t bested by the young assassin, but the young assassin wasn’t bested by the Bat, either. They’d met their match, and as soon as Batman had realized that this assassin was younger than ten, he forfeited.
“How old are you?” He asked Leila, hoping for a straight answer.
“Why should I tell you?” The girl shot back at him with a light accent, similar to one he’d heard before. Too similar. She clutched onto her swords in case he tried to strike again.
“You’re just a kid. I won’t fight you.” Batman said, setting down his utility belt and raising his hands in surrender.
“Because you’re scared you’ll lose against me?” You ripped your tactical mask off, deciding to show him the face of the child he was worried to fight, almost like a taunt. What Leila didn’t understand was that this surrender was not of fear, but of liberation.
“Have you ever left this island?” Batman asked the girl. “Played with kids your own age?” His questions were practically answered with the look in her eyes, something he figures the assassins hadn’t taught her to hide yet. Or maybe Leila wanted him to see. “Have you ever had a break?”
“I don’t need a break, Batman.” She snapped at him. “I’m the future of the Shadows, I have dedicated my life to training, I will one day lead this League and continue my Grandfather’s legacy.” Leila revealed, growing angrier at the Batman as she thought of Ra’s favoring the Batman over her. So she approached him carefully, dragging her blades across the ground and lifting one to his neck. “You get in the way of my purpose, it would be wise for me to eliminate you.”
“I know you don’t want to do that.” Batman smirked with the sharp end hovering over his artery.
“Why not?” Leila curiously asked.
“Because I’m the only person who has ever given you an idea outside of combat training. You’re curious as to what life is like away from the Shadows.” She listened to his words carefully, growing angrier at how perfectly he read her, but she heard he was the World’s Greatest Detective, she shouldn’t have been surprised. “You’re a child, you deserve to be free and grow up at your own pace. I can see right now that you grew up too soon. You were made into a weapon, one who could take me one on one. I don’t think you know how rare that is.” Leila dropped her weapons and let the Bat rescind his surrender. “What’s your name?”
“It’s Leila.” She answered him without a fight this time. “I’m nine.” Even answered one of his previous questions. He said all the right things, but she knew deep down she always wanted a way out of this life. Always. This could be it.
“Nine...” He repeated, taking a quiet deep breath upon hearing that young age, so close to his own age when his childhood was ripped away from him, when his parents died. “Leila, I need you to answer honestly. Do you want to lead the League of Shadows?”
“It’s what I was destined to do.” She told him, putting her weapons away on the dual scabbards carried on her back.
“That wasn’t my question.” Batman replied and she nodded.
“I don’t know. You asked if I had played with anyone my own age, I haven’t. I’ve never gotten a break from my duties. I’ve only left this island to work.” She explained, aggravated by his implication that she was missing out on something. What could it have been? She couldn’t imagine happiness outside of a good meal or a nice joke.
“To kill?” He asked.
“That’s work for me.” Leila answered as Batman picked up his utility belt and quietly stood behind her, thinking. Just thinking. He couldn’t leave her here, espresso when it was clear she no longer wanted this life.
“Do you want to leave with me, Leila?” Batman proposed. She thought the question would never come.
“You trust me enough to do that?” She looked completely shocked.
“Will you trust me?” Batman asked and she nodded. “Can you leave now?”
“I—I can’t. Not until I go grab some things. Can I meet you here in an hour?” Leila knew exactly what she needed to gather, and not the normal person’s toiletries and clothes. She had her eye on something much more valuable.
“I can do that.” Batman replied, using this as a test. He would hide for the time being, wait for Leila to return. This would be the time to take down the Batman for her, calling in an army of assassins to wipe him out.
“Thank you, Bruce. One hour, don’t be late.” Leila warned and Batman cocked an eyebrow. “Don’t be surprised, my Grandfather shared your identity with me. I was taught by him to respect the secret identity, though. I would never have let it slip.” She smiled at her new friend and headed back to the Shadow compound, well aware that there was no one near her prize at this time. And she knew exactly how to get in.
Ra’s’ Chambers, home of his very own Lazarus Pit. Leila came in clutch with an empty bottle and uncorked it, setting it aside while she continued her mission to pick each of many locks. Ra’s refused to let anyone near his precious Lazarus, even his own daughter or granddaughter in times of desperation. Leila didn’t have a reason to use it, there was no specific objective, she just knew she couldn’t leave this island without at least a pinch of the most valuable item here. It took about ten minutes, but she got the Pit open and dunked the bottle in right away, watching the air bubbles float to the top as her glass bottle filled up.
It was the perfect souvenir from her life on this island that would be coming to an end. While she still had time, she snuck back to her quarters and grabbed weapons, gear, and clothing to take along with her. Then it’d be time to find Batman and leave this unfulfilling life behind. Batman was from a place called “Gotham,” somewhere in America that would give Leila a whole new sense of belonging.
“Batman, are you present?” You called softly in the secluded field. He appeared behind you, no surprise, after securing the area. You had not betrayed him yet.
“Are you ready?” He asked, seeing your bag held tightly in your fist. “I’ll take that as a ‘yes.’” Bruce cracked a smile and led her to the Batwing, which inconspicuously scanned the girl for any trackers or communicators she may have had on her way in. Clean. She was a trained liar, spy, and assassin, but Leila was acting completely genuine when it came to escape from the island. It isn’t like she hadn’t thought about it a few times, but her Grandfather made her rise to power sound like life or death. Although, it confused her that he considered things to be life or death when he was immortal. Ra’s may have had plans, but it was no longer her business. “Alfred, please have a guest room ready when we arrive.”
“‘We,’ sir?” Alfred responded, concerned by his phrasing.
“Yes, we’ll be having a guest. Hopefully, she’s long-term.” Bruce vaguely explained.
“Very well, I look forward to meeting her.” Alfred answered and she smiled to herself. It was unusual for Leila to meet new people who weren’t “business associates” or enemies. This was better. Much better.
“You trust me enough to take me to your home?” Leila asked, complete shocked by a notoriously untrusting man.
“Well, you already know my identity and I’m confident you have no way of communicating with your former friends. I have some trust put into you, and I hope you’ll soon trust in me. But we’ll build on it, it will take time. Is that okay with you?” Bruce was remarkable at communicating with the young assassin, but she was also extremely advanced for her age. He knew they’d work together well, but he wanted to give her that choice after showing her what it meant to be a real kid. But Leila might be addicted to life with a mission, he knew the feeling. Maybe he could teach her to do it the right way.

Bruce flew into the Batcave with his new friend, Miss Leila al Ghūl. She was ecstatic, but didn’t really show it with her assassin-trained poker face. She enjoyed the sightseeing on the way to Gotham, something she never really appreciated on her other journeys. “Alfred, would you like to meet our guest?” Bruce asked while helping Leila out from his jet.
“I would be delighted, sir.” Alfred approached, expecting to see an older woman to greet, but stood there a bit stunned when he realized the girl in question was just a child. “My, my. You are quite the surprise, my dear. I’m Alfred Pennyworth, the butler.”
“I’m Leila al Ghūl, the assassin.” She introduced with a kind smile. Alfred looked up at the boy he raised with raw confusion in his eyes.
“Leila, Alfred will show you to your room for the time being, if that’s alright with you. I’d like for you to get yourself acquainted with your living arrangements, let us know if there’s any problems, and don’t be afraid to ask for anything.” Bruce instructed, leading Alfred to raise his eyebrows at Bruce, desperate for an explanation. “I will talk to you once you return, Alfred. Treat her like you would your own family.”
Once you were introduced to your room, Alfred went back to the Batcave to ask a series of questions. “Master Bruce, did that child assassin claim to be an al Ghūl? As in Ra’s al Ghūl, your crazed enemy and the leader of the League of Shadows?”
“Yes.” Bruce coyly answered.
“And what is she doing here?” He followed up.
“Earning her freedom. She’s been raised as an assassin from birth. Leila is a child.” Bruce began typing rapidly into the Batcomputer, Alfred spectating his master’s work.
“How old is this girl?” Another question asked by Alfred.
“She’s only nine.” He opened up a file on the computer that shocked his butler.
“You can’t seriously be trying to forge a birth certificate for her.” Alfred replied to the screen.
“I’m not. I am forging a birth certificate for her.” Bruce began clacking the keys to fill out as much information as he could. “I may even forge some adoption papers for Leila, too.”
“This is not how I imagined you’d start a family, Master Bruce.” Alfred was exasperated by all that had transpired on this night. Bruce seemed like he hadn’t thought this through for a second.
“It’s up to her, Alfred. I won’t be making any decisions without her knowledge or consent. She’s definitely intelligent, maybe even a genius, she can make decisions for herself.” He had so much hope for the girl he had just met.
“And as for the assassin side of her?” Alfred brought to his attention.
“I’ll teach her a new way. She may never shake her assassin ways in her head, but that doesn’t mean she has to act on them. I can teach her how to channel that, use non-lethal means…maybe even become a hero.” Bruce had thought up all of the possibilities and this just seemed right for him. Sure, Leila was an assassin prodigy and practically royalty, but wanting to get out showed him that those labels were not who she was deep down. It would take time to teach, to trust, but patience was definitely his thing. And if it meant saving a kid from a dark future, he would give it all that he’s got.

Alfred and Bruce let her sleep in later than they usually do, but she was already up by the time they checked on her. She already had the discipline for this line of work, it was just the hardwired bloodlust she had to shake.
“Leila, could I ask your opinion on something?” Bruce asked as they all sat in the kitchen, eating the breakfast Alfred had just prepared special for their house guest.
“I suppose.” She replied, clinking her utensils down on her plate and giving her full attention to Bruce.
“Well, from my experience doing this sort of thing, crimefighting and all,” he started his proposal, “I know it’s not easy to give up. Although we wouldn’t exactly call your ‘endeavors’ crimefighting, it still falls under the same umbrella.”
“Meaning?” She tilted her head and waited for him to get the the point.
“Meaning, if you’re comfortable with this, I would like to train you a little differently. I’m sure you’re still itching for action since it’s all you’ve been accustomed to and I’d like to channel that into something more…helpful.” Leila blinked in response, taking a sip of her orange juice as she mulled it over. “I’m not sure how much you know about Batman, but I have a ‘no killing’ rule. It’s very important to me, and I think that it would be healthy for you to adopt that rule, as well. It would distance you from the Shadows.”
“That makes perfect sense.” She agreed with her newest and only friend, wondering what he had in store for her as far as training went. Obviously, he’d be conditioning her to refrain from killing people, but she could understand that it wasn’t exactly the most socially acceptable thing.
“Speaking of adopting…” Alfred mumbled and caught your attention.
“Thank you for that, Alfred.” Bruce forced a smile, not exactly ready for the subject yet, but you certainly were smart enough to put it together. “In some time, Leila, if we see fit, I’d like to know if I could legally adopt you. We already have the means to create the documents. Plus, we would need to sort those legal papers out in order to enroll you in a school with kids your age—if that’s something you’re interested in at the moment.”
“So, you’d be like my father?” Leila questioned.
“I suppose that would be the case. Are you comfortable with that?” He paused. “Do you…know your real father?”
“I know he is or was an assassin. Supposedly the best of the best. My grandfather chose him for his biological superiority.” You explained your beginnings to him. “He also needed an egg from my biological mother, Talia. She was very young, but he was impatient. Their essences were mixed in a petri dish and incubated under close care for many months, soon I was a fully developed baby.” They were a bit surprised by your birthing story, but it certainly wasn’t the worst they’ve heard. “I was never introduced to my father, nor was I even told his name. He’s a ghost to me.”
“I see.” Bruce calmly answered your heavy story, clasping his hands together and staring at them while he took it all in.
“As for school, I think you’re going to have to teach me a bit about socializing and socially acceptable actions before I start mingling with the kids my age. As far as I know, they aren’t as…developed as me.” Leila was quite the observant girl, and thoughtful to her unknown peers at this time.
“A wise decision, Master Leila.” Alfred cleared the kitchen table of dirty dishes while she contemplated the coming days.
“I think we should put adoption off until both of us trust each other better. I don’t want you to regret your decision if you do.” Leila spoke up and Bruce agreed guiltily, it was unfortunate that you were right about trusting you. You were dangerous, after all. But you were also just a child. “I think training would build that trust. Don’t you?”
“Do you have any interest in crimefighting? Or would you just like me to break your old habits?” Bruce inquired, not able to keep track of how many questions the three of them had asked all pooled together.
“Honestly, maybe crimefighting would be a good change of pace.” Leila stood from her seat and pushed in her chair. “I could right my wrongs, make up for what they had me do. But only when you deem it appropriate.” She was obsessed with getting his trust, not because her intentions were false, but because she knew how important trust could be. Especially to someone like him. Leila needed his trust to truly be free here.

“Are you ready for your first night of patrol, Leila?” Batman asked his new partner.
“I think you mean ‘Demonspawn.’” She proudly flaunted the new identity, both fitting and badass.
“Well, Demonspawn, I was thinking that after tonight, if all goes well, we can work on those adoption papers.” Bruce suggested, grinning slyly while her face lit up. This was it. He trusted her fully, he knew she was completely separated from her past, he wanted her to stay, to become his family. This is all she could dream of for months!
“I think I’d like that.” Demonspawn nonchalantly answered.
“‘Leila Wayne’ has a nice ring to it.” He added, nearly making the poker-faced ex-assassin shed a tear at the sentiment. But Lei’s smile told him all he needed as the two of them took on the night. He told her that it wouldn’t be long before the Justice League would hear about Demonspawn, but there may be mixed feelings over her age. She figured that much, but under these circumstances, they must understand.
Things were looking up for her. She finally got a taste of fun, not much more with Batman than she got with the Shadows, but it sure felt like it. There was much more in store for her, then.

Slipping Away
Jason Todd x reader
warnings: shot description of jason’s face industries
a/n: no this is not an oc idea im basing this off of not at all nope nah nope. (it might be. okay it is. it’s titans!leila but more emotional and less angry)
prompt: @captainshazamerica: “Aihosvakvsi Lacey I'm so sorry, I'm a dumbass cause I swear i read the pinned post and re read the rules but apparently I cant read😅😅😅🤦🏻‍♀️okay, SO xD Can I have a oneshot of being the close younger sibling of Titans Jason Todd and seeing him go through, you know, everything(😅)(like current red hood arc) and reader being real conflicted cause she is super close with jason and hates seeing him go through this but obviously doesnt approve. and with hurt/comfort if possible?(and/or angst with a hapoy/fluff ending?) Thanks so much! Hope you are having a good week!”
Tumblr media
Now that everyone was back in Gotham, it was officially time to get to the bottom of this mess. Wayne Manor was bleak—er than usual. And it all started when Jason, the boy that was practically your brother by now, was brutally murdered by your father’s arch nemesis. A hell of a way to go, and not one unfamiliar to the citizens of Gotham City.
You were struggling during this whole mess and things only seemed to get more difficult. More heart-wrenching and sick. Every breath you took set off another cruel, confusing event for you and your family, both Bat and Titan, to investigate and take care of.
And it all started because you weren’t there. Just a night off so you could enjoy your city for what it was instead of lurking on rooftops and stalking potential troublemakers. Jason needed space, you needed fresh air. Perfect trade off. “Call me if you need anything, Jay. I mean it.” You told him while gathering your things near the exit of the garage, about to pick one of many keys belonging to one of many cars.
“I probably won’t. Benched, remember?” Jason gave you a passive-aggressive reminder of his current stance with Bruce and you rolled your eyes. “Oh, come on, y/n. It’s not fair! You’re still allowed to go out in a suit and throw bad guys in jail!”
“He’ll come around eventually.” You patted Jason on the shoulder. “Bruce is just…he’s weird. I mean, he dresses like a bat to fight crime, you know he has problems.” You chuckled to yourself, but your brother was not in the mood. “Listen, Jason. You haven’t been yourself in a while, he’s just looking out for you.”
“Bullshit!” Jason threw your arm away from his shoulder and backed up, causing you to raise your eyebrows in surprise. “You and Dick never get scolded like I do. I got sent away to San Francisco because I needed to be ‘corrected.’ And it was the worst mistake of my life.” He shouted at you and you began to walk away. “You don’t want to admit it, but Bruce hates me and loves you!” His voice echoed through the garage.
“Have it your way, Jason.” You waved him off and stepped into your chosen vehicle. Just before you slammed the door, you spoke your last words to him. “I really hope you stop focusing on Robin and start focusing on yourself or else you’re gonna end up dead.”
It wasn’t until later that night you’d regret those words, the moment you got a news alert from your phone just after parking your car. The headline: Joker’s Last Laugh: Clown Surrenders After Bludgeoning Batman’s Sidekick Robin. You read the title over and over until your phone began to ring, it was Barbara Gordon herself. You knew what was coming and you burst into tears just before answering the phone.
“Y/N? Y/N…you heard already.” She heard you crying to the point where you could barely speak. “He’s here, and Bruce is going to be here soon. Come to GCPD, I’m here for you.” Barbara assured and you hummed an “okay” before hanging up and hyperventilating behind the wheel. Your mind was just racing with questions.
Why did he do this? Why didn’t he call you? How did it happen? Why did the Joker surrender? Should you pay a visit to Arkham? Should you call Dick?
“Dick…” You mumbled, sniffling thickly and lifting up your phone to call him. But you hesitated. You couldn’t bare to talk to anyone else about this right now and threw your phone aside. “Later.” While still shaking from pure shock, you started your car and drove to GCPD. By the time you got there Bruce had just landed, so it was just you and Babs. You silently walked down the hall to the morgue, arms crossed and hands squeezing them to the point of bruising. You weren’t ready to see him, but you couldn’t refrain. The coroner unzipped the bag slowly, making seconds feel like hours. Barbara reached out for your hand and grasped it tightly as you laid eyes on him and gasped.
“I know, I know.” She whispered to you as you broke down once again. “We have Joker, we’re gonna make him pay.”
“Pay?” You took your hand away. “He’s never going to pay! It’s the same story over and over! He murders, you throw him in Arkham, he schemes, breaks out, and murders again!” You snapped at her in the coroner’s company. Barbara peered over at him awkwardly.
“Could you give us a minute, Eddie?” She requested and he nodded, promptly exiting the uncomfortable scene and shutting the door behind him. “Y/N, it’s really all that we can do. He’s clinically insane, practically untouchable by the law. And Bruce…he wouldn’t…”
“But I would.” You stared at Jason’s broken face, exposed skull. “I was taught to do so, maybe I should.” Barbara took you by the hand again, much more aggressively.
“You aren’t an assassin anymore, y/n. Do not stoop back down to your mother’s level.” She warned and you looked back over to Jason, knowing what he would have wanted. Just before you could say anything, the door swung open. “Bruce…”
“Dad.” You gulped and he said nothing, just walked forward and stared at Jason. Your brother, his son, Gotham’s Robin. “Dad, I’m sorry. I don’t know why he didn’t call me, I would have stopped him. I’m sorry.” You began to beg for forgiveness, but he was in no mood to speak to you or anyone else, for that matter. Growing frustrated, you stormed out of the room and decided it was time to call Dick. You were shaking again, missing the right buttons on your phone. Once it started ringing, you didn’t know what to say.
“Hey, y/n. What’s up?” Dick answered.
“You haven’t seen the news yet.” You observed out loud.
“What? What do you mean.” He waited for you to respond during a long pause. “Y/N?”
“Jason—” You thought you’d make it through the sentence, but even speaking his name felt like you failed him. “Jason’s dead.” The line went silent. “It was Joker. I don’t know what happened, we’re at the morgue right now, Bruce just landed half an hour ago. I don’t think he’s okay. Dick, please come home.” You began begging another quiet family member and heard him start shuffling around.
“I’m on my way.”
—————
The funeral happened before Dick even got home. Bruce was more distant than usual. You felt alone.
One thing after another, Bruce lost his mind. You woke up to one more person missing from their bed and Dick, he had to call in the Titans.
You were both relieved and furious that the Joker was dead. You’d been a killer before, you could have done it again for the right reasons. But your father, he was off the deep end and now missing. You should have been the one to do it. Just another thing to blame yourself for. So you decided to sit out on the Bat thing, just for the night. You had backup, so it gave you time to recuperate.
But that just wasn’t the end of it, because when the Titans came back from their night of wonders, Dick had to pull you aside and tell you disturbing news.
“Y/N, hey, sit down with me for a second.” Dick asked you, pulling out one of the Batcave chairs while the other Titans stood nearby, waiting for your reaction. “Tonight we ran into another Red Hood terrorizing Gotham.”
“Yeah,” you adjusted yourself in the seat, “what about him? Joker sparked another comeback?” You turned around to see all of your colleagues intently staring.
“Something like that.” Dick sighed and kneeled down in front of you. “It was Jason. He’s alive.”
“No, he’s not.” You quickly replied. “He’s not, I saw his body. Bruce buried him. He’s gone.” You began to panic inside.
“Did you see Bruce bury him. Did you see him in the casket?” Dick questioned and you just stared at him with watering eyes and a quivering lip. He nodded and opened his arms. “Come here.” You fell into them and began sobbing once more. You felt so weak and tired from the amount you cried, but you’d never experienced such a devastating loss. You didn’t know how to cope losing a brother, one so close to you. You couldn’t process his death, let alone coming back. Dick rubbed your back for a moment and assured you, “We’re going to figure this out.”
“Y/N, come on,” Kory softly said with her hand on your shoulder, “let’s go back upstairs. All of us. After tonight, we all need some rest. We’ll figure everything out in the morning.” You wiped your tears on your sleeve and agreed, feeling all eyes on you as you left the cave with her. “You okay?”
“Not really.” You laughed. “Not everyday your brother dies, your dad becomes a murderer and disappears, and your brother comes back as a terrorist.”
“Yeah, you Bats never seem to get a break.” She wrapped her arm around your should. “But the Titans are here for you one hundred percent. Anything you need.”
“Thanks, Kory.”
—————
Dick knocked on your door first thing the next morning, slowly letting himself in. “Hey, Gar’s making breakfast for everyone. You okay to come down?” He asked while walking to your bed. “As soon as we finish we can start looking into the Jason thing, okay? Did you get any sleep last night?”
“Not really.” You laid on your pillow and looked up at him. “And I doubt you did, either.” Dick sort of smiled at that, but before he could think of something to say, there was a large crash in the kitchen and a series of overlapping shouting.
“It’s fine, I got it!” Conner yelled and you assumed everything was cleaned up in a moment’s time. It actually got you to smile.
“Okay, I’ll have breakfast with you.” You pushed the covers off of yourself and walked with your brother through Wayne Manor, although it didn’t feel much like Wayne Manor anymore. It was much brighter with the Titans roaming the halls.
“Y/N, Dick told me what your favorite was!” Gar held up a plate of breakfast foods and smiled widely, exposing what sort of looked like fangs. “Still hot.”
“Thanks, Gar.” You smiled weakly back and took the plate, sitting with the rest of the Titans who tried their best not to stare at you, but they were worried. They really were, but they let you eat in peace while having light conversations around you. There was something about their presence that calmed you, there was less tiptoeing around the Manor, especially since Alfred passed. You continued clearing your plate and your spot and walked down to the Batcave without another word.
“Are they okay?” Conner asked Dick and everyone looked over at him, who knew you best. Dick gave them a very forced smirk and nodded.
“They will be. They just need some time to process this.” Dick began to clean his own spot at the table, too. “I know y/n’s had their fair share of loss, but their grieving process…it was tattered when they lived with their mom and grandfather.” He explained, piquing the Titans interest. They knew you, had fought alongside you, but you still chose to keep some things to yourself.
“Are their mother and grandfather people we would know of?” Gar inquired.
“Ever hear of the League of Assassins?” Dick answered his question with another and Gar’s jaw fell a bit. Dick then made his way to the cave to meet you, with the rest of his team following loosely behind. They found you replaying the security footage from the Titan’s encounter last night, trying your best to zoom in on Red Hood and evaluate his movements.
“How is he back?” Conner asked the big question. “I mean, y/n, you saw him, right? After the…the Joker.” You didn’t look away from the replay, but answered him honestly.
“His face was bashed in. Bone exposed. Brain, too. But his face here, I mean, it isn’t much to go off of, but I don’t see any cavities in his facial structure at all. He…looks…fine.” As you explained it to them, you began to realize just what you were saying. The other Titans thought you were beginning to lose your grip again and backed away, but you were trying to evaluate just how possible your idea was. “Fuck!” You shouted, slamming your hands on the computer and rushing up the stairs. Everyone jumped as a reaction and a few followed suit.
“Y/N? What’s wrong, are you okay? Talk to us!” Kory tried to console you, but no one knew why exactly you had began this little rampage. Once you got to your room, you crawled underneath your bed to pull out a large case full of some al Ghūl heirlooms. Among those were weapons, robes, and several papers, scrolls, maps. One map contained locations of known Lazarus Pits in the United States, “just in case you need it,” Ra’s said to you some time ago.
“What is that? A map of what? I can’t read Arabic.” Dick looked over your shoulder, analyzing the map as best as he could.
“Lazarus.” You whispered and Dick’s eyes went wide.
“You don’t really think that’s what this is, do you?” Dick asked you, hand on your shoulder as the others stared in confusion.
“Dad told me to check all these locations a while ago, but I never got around to it. I didn’t think I’d need to. But it makes sense, Dick. Everything about it does.” You explained to him, along with the rest of the team.
“Meaning?” Gar chimed in hoping to get something more from this, but the only person in this room who knew the full effects of the Put was you, and you were now terrified.
“It’s worse than we thought.” You shoved the case back under your bed and ran back to the cave, leaving everyone with a very disturbing sort of idea in their heads as they tried to understand what you meant. You began to cross reference the map locations with the morgue and quickly found your answer. The Titans and you learned of a Pit below GCPD.
“Can you please explain to us what exactly this Pit does and why it’s so worrying?” Kory requested and you felt your chest begin to grow tighter. It pained you to know that Jason was out there alone somewhere with the effects of Lazarus.
“My…My mom’s side of the family—specifically my grandfather—had found Lazarus pits some years ago. Their like enchanted pools, he used them to keep himself young because they have these certain healing properties.” You nervously explained, uncovering some unsavory memories. “The only thing is that there are side effects to them. It messes with your mind, and the more serious the injury…the worse the effect is…and…”
“You don’t have to go on if you don’t want to, y/n. It’s okay.” Dick tried to stop you, but you wanted to be more open with the team. The Titans were on the edge of their seats.
“No, it’s okay. I need them to know how dangerous this situation is.” You assured him and continued. “My grandfather kept himself alive for centuries with them, but each time he came out, he seemed to lose it for a bit. And I…I had used it once. There was a traitor among our ranks when I was much younger. He, uh, he stabbed me through the chest and my mother threw me into the Pit. It was a feeling I’ll never forget, and my mind…I wasn’t ready for it. For weeks I was extremely unstable and the psychological turmoil haunts me to this day.” You finished your story and saw pity in their eyes, making you wish that the story wasn’t even true.
“You only described injuries, though. Have you ever seen someone get resurrected?” Conner asked and you tensed up.
“No, but it’s not impossible. That’s what worries me,” you looked back at images of the new Jason, “who knows how messed up his brain is of he was healed from death.”
—————
Days went by and tragedy struck again and again, all by the fault of Jason Todd. But the thing is that you didn’t really believe it was Jason in there. It was Lazarus, or Scarecrow, the drugs, something else. It was not Jason. You and Gar had agreed on that much and he became a shoulder to lean on, but the others weren’t as patient with him. They needed to take him down.
“No, you guys don’t understand. He doesn’t need to be brought down, he needs help.” You pleaded with the team, trying your best to get them to see that he was still one of you, but the death of Hank shook their faith too hard.
“Y/N, he’s dangerous. I know you love him, we all did. But that’s not Jason anymore.” Kory approached with a soft voice and tried to get you to see things their way, but you saw things Jason’s way. What he was doing was wrong, but he could still be saved from it. He’d never be the same, but you’d do anything to help him. You’d want them to do the same.
“I refuse to give up on him.” You pushed her hands off of you and stormed down to the Batcave taking off on one of your motorcycles. Fortunately, you’d kept a secret from the rest of your team. Jason’s tracker was still online, you’d realized that a few days ago and had been keeping tabs on Jason and Crane, spotting them on warehouse cameras and such. The only problem is that the signal could sometimes be blocked. But it was a start, and right now, it seemed that Jason was alone.
“Y/N? Where are you going?” Gar said over your comms.
“I’m taking care of shit.” You answered and turned your earpiece off before peeling out and searching for your brother. He was just walking the street when you found him, completely alone and seemingly upset. You pulled up beside him and flipped your helmet up. “Jason?” You asked and he continued walking, so you walked your bike alongside him. “Jason? Can you hear me?”
“Go away.” He growled, shoving his hands in his pockets. You sighed and hopped off the motorcycle, turning on its security measures and catching up to your brother. “I said go away. I don’t want any more trouble.”
“I know you don’t.” You stopped in front of him and tried to look him in the eyes, they told a story. Bloodshot, dark circles, pupils normal. The effects of the Lazarus Pit had worn off, but he was exhausted. “I don’t want any trouble either. I just want my brother back.”
“You can’t, he’s gone.” He nearly got lost walking through a crowd of people, but you wouldn’t let him get away that easily. He veered off into a parking garage and you ran in with him.
“I know what you’ve been through.” You called after him, hearing your voice echo. “But I can’t talk to you here.”
“Then don’t.” He bluntly replied. You grabbed him by the arm and he willfully stopped.
“When’s the last time you ate?” You asked him and he stayed silent, looking away from your eyes. “Come on, we can go get some fast food and go to my apartment in the city. No one else knows about it.” Your hand trailed down his arms to his own hand. “You’re still my brother. I don’t like what you’ve done, but I know what led you to do it.” You began to walk and he walked beside you, letting you lead him down the street and back to your motorcycle. After about fifteen minutes, you’d obtained two bags full of food. Burgers, fries, drinks, and such, whatever he wanted, you could tell he was starving. It was a hassle being able to hold it tight on the bike, but you guys were pretty resourceful.
“The others are mad at me, aren’t they?” Jason asked you as you parked your bike and grabbed your share of the food. You sighed and grabbed the keys from your pocket.
“Some of them are. But I think they’re just really worried about you and the path you’re going down.” There was a long period of silence between the ground floor and your apartment on the fourth. You let him into the cozy little “safehouse” you’d made for yourself to get out of the Manor. “I know it was the Lazarus Pit.”
“I figured. Takes one to know one.” He sat down at the barstool near your kitchen and ripped into the bag, starting to eat his food like an animal.
“What I don’t get is why you turned to Crane in the first place.” You explained to him, sitting by his side. “He gave you drugs and marketed them as an out and you took the bait. You’re a Robin, what made you think that was a good idea?”
“I was a Robin.” He corrected quickly. “And I needed…I needed something. Something that was going to stop the nightmares, the flashbacks. I needed to get away from what was left of SF.”
“You needed help, Jason. You could have come to me.” You reminded him without cornering him. “And Scarecrow, he’s manipulative, you knew that when you went to him. That led you to become a terrorist, a murderer. That’s never going to go away.”
“Are you speaking from experience?” Jason grabbed his drink, giving you an antagonist little look and seemed to be reverting to his former self. It gave you a bit of relief to see him in a better mood.
“You know how my grandfather treated me.” You answered with a hint of regret in your voice as you remembered your time with the League. “I was a weapon to him, nothing more. When Bruce found out the truth he rescued me from them. If I remember correctly, Bruce saved you from a rough situation, too.”
“You’re still a weapon.” He reminded you. “And he left me in the dust. I died, y/n. Where did Bruce go? I don’t see him here now.” Jason began to get irritated.
“Bruce snapped and murdered the Joker. No one knows where the hell he is right now.” You revealed and Jason’s face dropped.
“That was Bruce?” You watched Jason look away from you and stare off for a moment, looking at all the decor in your apartment. Pictures of you and your family on the walls, little decorations and hidden weapons only he could spot from a mile away. “What did the others do?”
“Forgot about him. He’s a grown man with a lit of problems that are too late to solve. No one knows how to help him.” Your voice wavered as you wondered if you’d ever see your dad again. “You’re still worth fighting for. And I know what you felt being thrown into that Pit. Being resurrected is traumatic.”
“When do the nightmares go away?” Jason asked you about your own experiences.
“A couple weeks.” You assured. “I know it’s hard, but you’ll get through it.”
“Yeah, sure,” he whispered, “can I take a shower?”

What ocs have you seen recently that you'd like to do a crossover with? -Riley
So, I've seen so many amazing OC but I never get the courage to ask about it because I'm scared I annoy them
@foxesandmagic A.J Kane and Dora Grayson are definitely Parabatai like she said it too these two girls would annoy the hell out of the batboys. Also I wouldn't mind to do a Harry Potter crossover with you too.
@missjanuarylily Leila Potter and Margaret Dursley are amazing together and would make great cousins.
@chlobenet her awesome Riverdale OC Aspen Mills and my OC Teddy Moore.
@susiesamurai our Fairy Tail girls Cassie Heartfillia and Suzume Yahto who would definitely fight 24/7 and compete over any ridiculous thing but always have each other back. Also Sophie Stark [mine] and Sophia Stark [her].
@megdonnellys Our Percy Jackson husbands Brandon and Lucas [I'm so horrible I know he has a new name but for the of me can't remember it...] Also I wouldn't mind if we so an Legacies crossover with our babies.
@anotherunreadblog our Percy Jackson OC Angelica Miller [her] and Daphne Briars [me]
@dreamerwithapen1 our Fairy Tail crossover with Suzume Yahto [me] and Iris Riversong. Also My Hero Academia OC Akiko Todoroki [me] and Kitty
And finally the one who I'll probably talk only crossovers with @randomestfandoms-ocs
Aella Wayne and Callum Montgomery - if they existed in the same fic they would be soulmates and the ultimate OTP. Also Aella and Dora who might have a little rocky relationship in the beginning but end up like sisters.
Daphne Briars and Cassandra Aelius- those two are sisters that comfort each other from nightmares and are each other's rocks to the reality to keep them in the real world and not having visions from the future or past.
Daphne and Helena - habe A big potential of becoming a very angsty ship.
Wendy Parker and Nova Thompson they work as either best friends or stupid people who love each other but too afraid to say something.
Arianne Martin And Tia McAllister [Teen wolf] could be cute too. Again either best friends or something more.
Selena McCall and Tia McAllister could be that supportive big sister brotp.
People I would love to talk crossover with @captdnvrs -Q and Nova or Molly and Nova @whindsor -Mika and Nova @sgtbuckyybarnes -Noemi and Teddy @rafaelswaithe - Our Shameless OC @perfectlystiles -harry Potter OC/ DC anything really....

The Story of Young Justice’s Leila al Ghūl
a/n: there’s a non descriptive gore scene at the end ahhh
part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6
—————
GOTHAM CITY
August 25, 13:28 EST
2009
Everything in Leila’s life was going well, almost too well. Of course, that’s when her mother showed up in Gotham, send to do the bidding of Ra’s in order to bring her daughter back home. They stood across from each other on the rooftops, preparing to use their words or weapons.
“What do you want, Talia?” She called out into the sky.
“Talia? Am I not good enough for ‘Mother?’” Talia stepped forward to her biological daughter, seething with rage after seeing the woman in person again.
“No, you are not.” Leila met her in the middle, glaring up at Talia in complete contempt. “You were no mother to me.”
“I didn’t have a choice, darling. But I’m ready now. Come home, back where you belong. You can convince Bruce and we can be a family.” Talia reasoned with her daughter, attempting to affectionately grab the girl’s cheeks, but she quickly countered the action and swiped Talia’s arms away.
“It might be true that you didn’t have a choice, but I’ve made mine. I’m staying in Gotham, I will continue doing good, and I will continue to distance myself from the Shadows.” Leila sternly made it known, but her mother chuckled at the thought.
“Please, my daughter. For someone trying to distance herself from us, you picked an interesting name. ‘Demonspawn?’ That doesn’t have anything to do with your grandfather being ‘the Demon’s Head?’” She picked at the girl, almost trying to instigate a fight. Maybe this was a test, but Leila had known better than to engage with the likes of any of them if it wasn’t absolutely necessary.
“The name serves as a reminder. That’s all you need to know.” She was under Leila’s skin, and it took everything inside her not to engage in combat. Prove to the woman she could best her, but what was the point?
“What a shame.” Talia took a step back and looked at her offspring. “Look at you, so big now. I wish you would take off your mask so I could get a good look at my daughter.”
“You’d be better off leaving now.” Leila unsheathed her swords and her mother chuckled, sucked her teeth, and left the rooftop with Demonspawn frozen in place. “Batman? Can you hear me?” She tapped into the comms.
“I can. What’s the problem?” Bruce answered on the other line.
“Talia is in town.” She nervously told him.
“Is everything okay?” Batman asked.
“Everything is fine. She backed off.” Lei replied, beginning to pace around and turned her GPS to the nearest Zeta Tube in town.
“Are you okay?” Was the follow up question, but for some reason, Leila wasn’t. Facing her past like that just didn’t sit right with her.
“Yeah, I just need a minute. I gotta go.” She tapped out of comms and took off, running twenty blocks to the Gotham City Zeta location in an abandoned phone booth.
“Recognized: Demonspawn, A00.” The computer voice announced and sent her to her destination.
—————
CENTRAL CITY
August 25, 13:03 CST
2009
Leila knew exactly who she needed to see to shake her misery from the recent encounter. She dialed Wally without any hesitation and let the phone ring just a few long moments. No answer, but before she could call again, his number popped up on the screen. Typical speedster. “Hey.” She answered.
“Hey, babe! What’s up?” Wally was obviously chewing something directly into the speaker.
“Are you busy? I’m in Central City right now.” Leila sounded off, he could tell. Over these past few months, they’d grown closer and closer than she could have ever imagined. He brought out the best in her, encouraged her to let go, exercise her freedom, and she knew he’d always be there for her.
“No, not busy at all. I’m at home, you need me to come get you?” Wally was already halfway out the door at this point.
“That’s okay, Wally, I can get to your house myself. I just need to change real quick.” She hung up the phone before he could protest and walked further down the alley she ended up in, accessing the stash she’d left there a few months prior. Extra civilian clothes, weapons, suits, masks, and then some. Always prepared—like a true Bat.
After a quick change in this secluded area, she tossed her larger weapons into the crate and locked it up tight, making sure to keep her utility belt on and inconspicuous. First thing Batman taught her, never leave home without it.
The walk to Wally’s place wasn’t too far off, but she took it slow. Wally knew her backstory, she decided to spill it a few months ago, dying to let someone else know what she’s been through. Wally was a bit…enthusiastic over the new information, thinking it was badass that his best friend used to be an assassin, but Lei made sure he knew it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
Leila knocked on the door and was almost greeted by his parents, but Wally beat them to the door and let you in. “You okay? You didn’t sound too great on the phone.” He rushed to ask as you waved to Mr. and Mrs. West.
“Can we talk about it in private, please?” Leila requested and he immediately agreed, leading her through the house and closing his bedroom door, much to his parents dismay.
“Can you tell me what’s going on now?” He kicked some trash around to make a pathway and sat her down on his unmade bed.
“My mother showed up in Gotham while I was on patrol.” Leila mumbled, growing more upset as the words passed through her lips. That woman had the audacity to step foot in Gotham and try to recruit her young daughter back into a league if assassins. “She tried to get me to come back. Said me and Bruce could be a ‘family’ with her.” Wally’s eyes widened upon hearing the news, he never knew just how something like this would affect his best friend, but seeing in up close was not something he’d ever want to see again.
“Dude, that’s rough.” He ran his fingers through his hair and sat down next to her. “She really shook you up that bad?”
“I haven’t seen her in person in a while, but I think she wants to use me to get to my father.” Leila explained a bit more in depth. “She’s been in love with him for a while, but he want’s nothing to do with her while she’s in that line of work.”
“She sucks. Like, she really sucks.” Wally tried his best to comfort, but this wasn’t exactly a normal conversation. Wally didn’t have a crazy, heavy backstory. He wanted be be a hero, he became one. His family was nuclear, intact, and full of love. He wasn’t equipped for assassins, adoptions, and billionaires. “I don’t know what else to say.”
“There really isn’t much you can. I just didn’t know where else to go.” Leila balled her fists until her knuckles were white, completely unable to keep her emotions in check this time, trying every trick in the book to stay composed, but when Wally wrapped his arms around her, it was hopeless. They both fell back into the mattress while tears dripped down the sides of her face, something you’d rarely see with a Bat. Note to Wally: Mom is a touchy subject.
“Do Bruce or Dick know you’re here?” Wally quietly asked her.
“There’s a tracker on my belt, so yeah.” Leila unclipped the thing and set it aside in the bed. “Sorry I pretty much came out of nowhere today.”
“Are you kidding me? You make my day anytime I get to see you. Even the hard times.” Wally leaned on his elbow, assuring her that everything was okay. Lei didn’t like that he saw her cry, she really didn’t like it, and she didn’t like that smirk on his face when he saw her weak, either. So, she spread out her hand and pushed his entire face away, bursting into laughter to lighten the mood.
“I love you, Kid.” She told him, but not the first time.
“Love you, too, Lei.” Her chuckles died down and she stared at the ceiling in silence, noticing out of the corner of her eye that Wally was taking in her features. He absolutely had a crush on her, he sure wasn’t subtle about it, but there were obstacles. One, Leila wasn’t exactly ready for a relationship. Aside from the fact she was still young—they both were—she didn’t think she could juggle civilian life, crimefighting life, the looming assassin life, and a long-distance relationship all at once. Two, she didn’t really understand platonic love versus romantic love yet. And three, she loved her friendship with Wally so much, she wouldn’t change a thing right now.
He definitely broke her out of her shell. Like, really. She was affectionate and bubbly to the people she appreciated most in life. Hugs, cheek kisses, and meaningful goodbyes were commonplace and she owed it all to him. The reserved assassin needed a push in the right direction, and a few tumbles at high speed.
It was funny, though. They both had a feeling that their friendship would run deeper, but no idea how so. It was just a feeling. “Do you have any ice cream?”
“You want ice cream? What kind? I can go get some.” Wally eagerly questioned and she shook her head.
“No, if you don’t have any, it’s fine. I don’t need you bending over backwards for me.” During that sentence, her voice changed a bit. Accent resurfacing once in a blue moon and Wally just heard it for the first time.
“Ooh, what was that?” He sat up and wiggled his eyebrows. “That couldn’t be…no. It wasn’t your accent, was it?” Wally bit his lip from pure ecstasy, feeling like he discovered a new part of her. “I wanna hear more of it, it sounded pretty cute.”
“No. It was an accident, it just slipped out.” Leila shut him down, but Wally was the most persistent person she’d ever met.
“Okay, well, I’m gonna go to the store and get your ice cream, I’m betting you were gonna ask for cherry. Then you have to drop the Gothamite accent for at least ten minutes. Okay, see ya.” Wally rushed out before she could protest, making her wonder what made her love him so much. Then she got a phone call from Bruce.
“Is everything okay?” He asked before she could greet him. “You’re with Kid Flash?”
“Yes to both.” She confirmed. “If it’s okay, I think I’d like to stay out of Gotham for the night. She just…she really set me off.” Leila referenced her mother.
“What did she say?” Bruce did some detective work into the woman he somehow loved.
“She said she wanted me to come home, said that you, her, and I could be a family there. I know she doesn’t care about me, B. I’m barely a daughter to her. She just needs me to get to you.” Leila vented to her dad, who wasn’t a fan of seeing her upset. Seeing his daughter upset was such a rare occasion that he knew lines were crossed. But apart of him couldn’t shake that warm feeling he got hearing that Talia still wanted him. Guilt ensued.
“I’ll take care of her. Check in with me later. Just relax for now, maybe find some crime in Central City to take care of.” Bruce ended the conversation and by the time he hung up, Wally was standing in the room once more with a tub of ice cream in one hand and two spoons in the other.
“A deal’s a deal.” Wally told her.
“I never agreed.” She crossed her arms and swiped a spoon from him. “May I please have the ice cream?”
“You know what to do.” Wally pulled away, just asking to be punched.
“Hal li min fadlik ayis krim?” She spoke in her native tongue and Wally blinked.
“Close enough.” He handed it over and let her get the first bite before he felt the need to shovel scoops into him mouth. “Dude, this flavor is so underrated. I always forget how good it is until you make me try it again.”
“Yeah, I have awesome taste. You should listen to me more often.” She joked.
“In your dreams.” Wally offered up the last scoop of ice cream to her, knowing she’d appreciate him putting her first. “Last bite, you want?” Lei jumped at the chance before he could change him mind. “I bet you like cherries ‘cuz they remind you of me.”
“I like cherries because they’re good, Ginger.” She shot back and threw the spoon into the empty carton. “Hey, would it be cool if I stayed here tonight? Bruce said it was fine if I stayed out of Gotham until he takes care of Talia.”
“Oh, uh, yeah. I mean, I’ll have to ask my parents, but that’s cool with me.” Wally scratched the back of his head.
“Well, I know it’s cool with you, loverboy.” She leaned on his shoulder and he reached for her hand, squeezing it tight.
“Just so you know, Leila, I’d do anything to make sure those assassins don’t hurt you.” He made another attempt at comfort.
“Could you tell Talia to back off?” She suggested and Wally let go of her, walking away fro dramatic effect.
“I wouldn’t go that far, you aren’t that important to me.” He sarcastically blurted, getting Lei out of her mopey mood once again. He was great at removing the ingrained brooding from her brain. Just then, Mrs. West rapped a knuckle against the door. “Come in!”
“Hi dear, I was just checking in to make sure everything was alright. Leila, sweetie, do you need anything?” She offered like Lei was one of her own, which at this point she practically was.
“Thank you, Mrs. West, but I’m okay.” Leila assured her and Wally took the chance to ask the question.
“Hey, Mom? Would it be alright if Lei spent the night? She’s gotta stay out of Gotham tonight.” Wally gave her a look that silently told his mom I can explain later.
“Oh, sure. She’s always welcome here. Just as long as you know you can’t share the bed.” Mrs. West told them both and they agreed, Wally a bit more reluctantly.
“Can I at least sleep on the floor in the sleeping bag?” He tried his luck and she thought about it a moment.
“Okay, but only if you promise not to pull any funny business, young man.” Mrs. West warned as Leila hid her smile.
“Deal.”

GOTHAM CITY
August 26, 23:30 EST
2009
Talia had been playing games all night, letting Bruce find her when she was finally ready. The two did the same dance they always did, feelings growing stronger for one another as Bruce chased down the woman he loved, only to be let down by the reality of their situation. Talia worked for her father, she was a ruthless assassin who would do what she was told without question. Bruce was a man of the people, the Batman who swore never to kill. The two were star-crossed lovers, wishing the other would give up their ways and give in.
Eventually, Batman and Talia had halted the chase at the Batsignal on the GCPD building. And at midnight exactly, they kissed. It was full of false hope and promise, but the love was true. Tender touch soon interrupted when Batman pushed her away. “No, this isn’t right. Not for either of us.” Bruce shut her down.
“Really? Because it certainly felt right.” Talia persisted, so close to what she wanted.
“I don’t want to hurt you, Talia, but we can’t be together,” Bruce began the let down, one he knew she wouldn’t take so well, “not as long as you serve your father.”
“That again! You cannot ask me to choose between you!” She turned away from him, crossing her arms to pout.
“I don’t. The fact that you see it as a choice says all that needs saying.” Bruce turned his back, too, and began to walk away. Maybe for good this time.
“Beloved, wait!” Leila’s mother showed her desperation, racking her brain with new plans to manipulate one or the other, convince him to stay.
“No, Talia. This is how it has to be.” Bruce’s decision was final, but Talia put up a fight for her future. She was heartbroken. That vision of a family was almost perfectly put together. Bruce loved Talia, he loved Leila. Talia’s daughter was in the care of her beloved, it was perfect. But so long as Leila was against her mother, the chances of Bruce fully submitting to love was null. “Stay away from Leila. She doesn’t need you in her life.” He warned.
“I will.” Talia promised, hoping she’d get credit for that, at least. But Talia was sent by Ra’s, who knew his daughters weakness and knew what he had to do.
Bruce parted ways with her and called Leila immediately. “I’ve taken care of Talia, you can come back to Gotham now.”

CENTRAL CITY
August 26, 23:03 CST
2009
“Thanks…I’ll head to the Zeta spot now.” Leila hung up and looked over to Wally, seeing disappointment in his face as he kicked his feet down to halt the swing he’d been goofing off on.
“So, you gotta go?” He frowned and watched her get off her swing. “I can walk you over if you want.”
“Thanks, Wally, but it’s okay. It’s pretty late.” She checked the time and sighed, being just as disappointed as him that they had to part ways.
“Exactly, it’s late. Central City’s a dangerous place, no place for a young lady like you to be walking around alone at night.” He tried to convince the girl, but she settled for a goodbye hug right there and a kiss on his cheek.
“I’m an international ex-assassin, I’ll be fine.” Lei began her walk alone across town and into the alley, accessing the chest full of her Demonspawn gear and swapping the civvie clothes for something more “Gotham Chic.” Just as she strapped her weapons to her back, a unwelcome voice started to speak behind her.
“You know why I’m here.” The mystery man said, stepping further into the alley as she turned his way. “Your mother gave you a choice, now it’s my turn.”
“They thought that you alone could bring me in?” Leila scoffed at the insult, but this elite assassin was confident in his ability to take the 13 year old in, underestimating her greatly. Her eyes flickered from the Zeta point to the assassin, wondering if she could make a quick escape. Unlikely.
“Last chance, little girl. Return to your grandfather’s side, or I’ll have to make you.” Leila slowly reached for her grappling hook, then took a shot in the air and made a run for it. Not because she didn’t think she could take him, but because compromising that area would really get her in trouble. “I guess we have to do it the hard way.” The assassin scaled the wall and chased her as Demonspawn hopped building to building without fail, disappearing between two. While the Shadow investigated, she hopped from windowsill to windowsill without a sound and snuck up behind him, slamming him to the ground and sticking her blade against his neck.
“You were a fool to think you could possibly be a match for a Demon’s spawn.” She pulled down her bandana mask so it rested around her neck, revealing her mischievous smirk.
“Kill me, then. I refuse to be spared by the likes of you.” The assassin requested, a tempting idea. Leila hadn’t killed in five years, but her instincts still lingered. “I know you want to do it. No matter what the Batman taught you, you can’t take the assassin out of the girl. It’s wired into you.” Everything he said could have been true, but Leila had a better life than she’d ever imagined. There was no way she’d give it all up for him.
“So long as I wear this symbol,” Leila pointed to the patch with her father’s famous Bat symbol on her belt, “I won’t be taking any lives.” The edge of her blade trailed down his chest, leaving a few cuts on the way. Then she lifted it and slammed it down near his hand, making him scream at the pain. “But I can take a finger or two.” Leila lifted her bandana back over her nose and went back on course, grabbing a handkerchief from her utility belt to wipe the blood off the edge of her sword, discarding it before diving off the building and eventually making it back to the Zeta point.
“Recognized: Demonspawn, A00.”

Note
also i was reading through your rules and i saw you mentioned to ask you about your OCs!!! i love some good OCs - tell us about them? i've seen your aesthetics for them before and they're really cool!!
ahhh yay!! thank you <3 so i have a whole lot of ocs and a handful of aesthetics to make, but my top few oc’s are “circe” (im actually changing her name, power, and backstory up), demonspawn, and delia dune!!
Circut/Danielle Fury - kind of a dark backstory, her birth parents were unknown, she was kidnapped as an infant and “adopted” by a scientist named Renee Baker. Everything seemed normal, but behind closed doors Cam was being experimented on. By the age of eight, her powers had surfaced and during a test, she caused an energy surge that destroyed the lab and left quite a few casualties. SHIELD was quick to respond, but surprised to find a little girl unharmed in the wreckage. Cam was immediately taken to SHIELD for more testing and research into her past, but being so young, she was terrified. Nick Fury felt some guilt for overwhelming the child and comforted her himself, forming a bond that he didn’t intend to. Soon, to everyone’s surprise, Fury announced he’d become Camren’s legal guardian, helping her to grow up, control her powers, and meet others like herself. By the age of fourteen, she was an Avenger. It was a judgement call, she may have begged. But she found a family that cared deeply about her, and that’s what mattered most.
Demonspawn/Leila Wayne-al Ghūl - Leila, meaning “daughter of the night,” was Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghūl’s first child, raised (awkwardly) between parents. She was born with Bruce’s knowledge, and lived more than one life. Leila was first raised and trained by the League of Assassins, with her father present. After some time, Bruce brought his daughter back to Gotham. She was interested in her father’s vigilantism. Demonspawn was her chosen name, after her grandfather, the Demon’s Head, who was fickle about his opinion of her. She became a partner to Batman, and grew close to each “Bat” as they joined and departed. Leila had no idea her brother, Damian existed until after it was revealto Bruce. She was stunned because she had met Damian before when visiting her...assassin family.
Delia Dune - One of the most reliable Resistance mechanics out there. Pretty much always there when you need her. She doesn’t talk about her backstory much, likes to be mysterious like that, no matter how many people poke and beg to get to know her better. Delia has a handful of apprentices that are highly unreliable, she may not be the greatest teacher, but she has a pretty good relationship with the pilots of ships they don’t take care of. Her banter with others is always entertaining and she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty!

Fandom Fic Rec
Alrighty, so this is apparently a thing, and I’ve been meaning to do recs for a while so... here’s a long list of my favorite fanfiction works, with links to each of them. I recommend all of them.
Hanover Chronicles-Katriona_Subasa (@agronadb)
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka No Ken, Fire Emblem 6- Fuuin No Tsurugi
A series of four fics, spanning just over a thousand years of history in the Fire Emblem world of Elibe. This series is one of my favorites; the characters are well developed, there are little tie-ins and easter eggs between fics, the writing style (particularly the dialogue) feels super realistic, and the pacing is excellent. Also would like to point out that the series is approaching 1 million words, so if you start, you’ll have plenty of material to keep you going, particularly since the last fic is still in progress.
Reprise-Elfpen
Fandom: Star Wars
A series of time-travel fix-it fics where Obi-Wan is sent back in time after his duel with Darth Vader on the Death Star. The humor is great; imagine Qui-Gon trying to deal with two Obi-Wans at once. There’s also cameos from characters in the True EU, which was fun to see, and some great philosophizing about the nature of the Force. Lots of good meta, and overall just very well written.
Messenger-HundredHanded (@hundred-handed)
Fandom: Overwatch
An Ancient Greek AU. Angela travels with Reinhardt as he tries to take down Talon, and Fareeha is a bodyguard. Very clean writing; you can tell a lot of research went into this one. No character feels out of place, even if the entire thing takes place in Greece, and the names are absolutely brilliant. Good fic, good pairing.
Beneath the Stars-StarlightWalking
Fandom: LOTR
A finished fic covering the travels and life of Tauriel after the Hobbit and through the War of the Ring. Really fleshes out the brief relationship between Tauriel and Kili. Provides a lovely conclusion to her story, which was more or less left hanging at the end of the movie. Shout out to TolkienGuardians for always posting updates on this so I could go read new chapters.
Knight-Errant-Zinjadu
Fandom: Star Wars
A canon divergent fic covering the Clone Wars, where Ahsoka wasn’t expelled from the Jedi Order and instead was promoted to a unique position. Proceeding relatively slowly, but has a lot of material, and each one is well done. Covers battle, politics, and slices of life, which very few other sources do. Contains a whole bunch of fics, so pick your poison.
Love, Life, and Peril-LiamReyes
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka No Ken
A unique take on the story of FE7, involving a tactician with a checkered past. This is an older fic that is progressing slowly, but is well written, with enough AU tossed in to keep the story fresh. The background adds a nice twist to the story, and some character deaths are left out, which I think makes the fic much better,
A Fresh Cup of Coffee-Lydia_Rogue (@marykay91)
Fandom: RWBY
Hoo boy. Another favorite fic of mine, involving the formation and adventures of Team CFVY (You know, the ones that got maybe ten minutes of screen time?). Super well done, and covers some serious issues within the show that the actual series does not (Racism, Ableism, etc). Bonus points for having the team be in a super cute poly relationship, and for fully fleshing out the most badass team on the show.
Overwatch Emergency Communication Channel-ArcaneAdagio
Fandom: Overwatch
This is... a legendary crackfic. Just, imaging the entire Overwatch team on a chat server during day to day life. Absolutely hilarious, and the format is great. Lots of pairings, lots of shenanigans.
It's Basically Discord-Hanzo Shimada (Ubercharge)
Fandom: Overwatch
Same as the last one, another crack chatlog fic. This one starts in the days of Overwatch before the fall, so you get to see some of the interactions between the old soldiers when they were still young and snarky.
Reaping Dragons-MegsBlackFire
Fandom: Overwatch
A series featuring genderbent Reyes and Hanzo, and covering their recruitment into Overwatch before the fall. McHanzo and Reaper76 feature prominently, and there’s plenty of OC characters to help flesh out the story. Well written, and ongoing through the current storyline of Overwatch (Whatever that is Blizzard’s timeline is so messed up)
The Young Never Sleep-CerealMilk (@cerealwatch)
Fandom: Overwatch
A much, much darker fic, but one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Details D.Va’s life and current status in Overwatch, and explores how being a child soldier who’s been fighting omnics for years might fuck you up a bit. Lots of triggers, read the description before you start. Goes a lot into recovery and in how D.Va deals with life and death, and doesn’t treat her like a child. Basically the anti-gremlin D.Va; Hana Song and D.Va are very much not the same person here.
Sorrowful and Immaculate Hearts-Unpretty (@unpretty)
Fandom: DC
Ah yes, another legendary series of fics. You’ve probably seen at least one of these floating around. Covers a wide range of topics, mostly Batman related, but all of them are well written, and most are hilarious. Hard to sum up this one since there’s so many fics, but all of them are worth a read.
The Stars Our Destination-CommanderRoastedWolf
Fandom: Overwatch
A fantasy AU centering around Pharmercy, with Pharah as knight and Mercy as priest. Gorgeous worldbuilding and character development, and I love how other characters are portrayed. Ongoing, updates fairly slowly.
Imagine the Ocean-Damkianna
Fandom: AtLA
An Avatar AU where Katara is the Avatar, instead of Aang. Supremely well written, and adds touches of details to the original that improve the already incredible story. A few OCs provide some nice contrasting points of view.
Kingdom of Rust-Colms (@kelsiers)
Fandom: Cosmere
Ah yes, this was a fun one. Wayne and Marasi go do shooty-shooty stabby-stabby detective work. I love this one because the writing style is so similar to Sanderson’s; the dialogue is spot on, and the plot fits right in with canon. Love the characterization of Marasi, who I at least feel is slightly underdeveloped in canon.
Equilibrium-Caesurae
Fandom: Overwatch/Pacific Rim
A crossover fic with Angela as a Jaeger pilot. Has both Pharmercy and Gency, and most of the other characters make appearances at one point or another. This one is plenty long, and the style/viewpoint of the writing is unique and makes for an interesting read.
Once There Was-Peradi
Fandom: Star Wars
A series that examines the fall of the First Order from within, inspired by the actions of Finn when he dared to break off and become a traitor. Written almost like poetry, this one strikes deep and is a good read for fans of Star Wars from any era; it applied regardless.
In Loco Pirates-IzzyTheHutt
Fandom: Star Wars
So what if Hondo (Yes, that Weequay pirate with impeccable business sense and a great sense of humor) ran into Luke Skywalker and then sold helped him reconnect with his father? Good stuff. Definitely AU, but so far everything is believable. Does some great character analysis of Darth Vader and Palpatine as well.
MaftWaft-Oddport
Fandom: TF2
A TF2 fandom? In 2017? Yep. An AU where the fem!mercs end up in the canon universe, and the two teams join forces to take down Grey Mann. A fun read, with all the characters behaving about as you’d expect them to when confronted with themselves. Lots of adorable couples too.
Wayward Son-Gunlord500
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka No Ken
Hoo boy. This fic. Over a million words across (I believe) six years and almost eighty chapters. In universe, it covers a few hundred years, following the story of a single enigmatic man as he lives, fights, loves, and dies. Very interesting backstory on one of the most mysterious characters in the canon, and contains loads upon loads of philosophy and religion that I, at least, found very useful.
The Last Red Shoulder-Gunlord500
Fandom: Fire Emblem 6-Fuuin No Tsurugi
In the same universe as the above, covering a side story about corruption and a horrifyingly evil artifact. Same praise as the above, basically, and well worth the read. Would recommend reading Wayward Son at least to about chapter 50ish first though, as there is some backstory that you’ll be better off knowing.
Six Shots to Go-CourierNinetyTwo
Fandom: RWBY
Another CFVY fic, covering all six possible pairings in the team. Each one is explored in detail, and seems true to the characters from what we know of them. Overall, a cute fic (I think there might be some NSFW in this one, careful)
Silly: In Defense of Parvati Patil-DirgeWithoutMusic
Fandom: Harry Potter
A look into life after the books, focusing on Pavarti and how she deals with the trauma of going through a full blown war before the age of eighteen. Fills in the gaps that JK Rowling left behind, and offers a much more realistic view of what life would be like after seeing your friends die.
Sealed In Silence-MorriganFearn
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka no Ken
A look into the life of the Eight Heroes, focused around Bramimond, the Dark Druid. It’s told as a series of small interactions between Bramimond and the other heroes. An older fic, but it has aged well.
The Dusk of Our Revolution-LittleGreenBudgie
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka no Ken
An AU where Matthew is trying to escape the Black Fang gang; a well written side fic that covers one of my rarepairs from this ancient fandom. Each of the Four Fangs makes an appearance as well, as do other characters, and the whole thing fits neatly into the new setting.
Clandestine-LittleGreenBudgie
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka no Ken
A quick meeting between Matthew and Leila. This is the rarepair I mentioned above, but it’s cute, and this little fic covers their interaction very well, I think.
End of An Era: Unholy Alliance-LordHippoman
Fandom: League of Legends
The League falls to a combined assault from the Void, Noxus, and the Shadow Isles. An older fic that I read back when I played League super regularly, but it’s a good read overall.
Another Hope-Rose of the Nile
Fandom: Assassin’s Creed IV
This beautiful fic is another time travel fic, where Edward is sent back in time after the events of AC4. Knowing what he does, he tries to fix his mistakes. This one made me happy mainly because of the pairing and improved character development, and is a great read for anyone who loved Kiddway as much as I did.
Deep Breaths-CrimsonNoble
Fandom: League of Legends
An AU fic with Riven and Irelia. Basic Cop and Gang fic, with each of the major factions being a different gang member. Older fic, but done well, with interesting perspective shifts and descriptions.
More Than Words-Kitten Kisses
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka no Ken
Sadly, this fic was taken down, but you should be able to email the author for a copy. A post game fic where Hector and Farina get back together. Very fluffy and angsty; poor Farina doesn’t catch a break in this one, but it all turns out lovely.
The Ice Girl-Meelu the Bold
Fandom: Fire Emblem 7-Rekka no Ken
Linus and Lloyd save Nino when she’s abducted by faeries; bit of a strange premise, but it leads to some classic puzzling and hack and slash action. Very old fic, but a good read.

The Circus Scheme
The Story of Young Justice’s Leila al Ghūl
part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 part 5 part 6
—————
GOTHAM CITY
April 1, 15:34 EST
2006
Leila had dragged Bruce to the circus that stopped in town, which wasn’t really his scene, but it gave her a chance at a new experience that really brightened her up. The games, the music, the outfits, the scenery, even the food. It showed her what real fun was.
Of course, she won herself a stuffed animal and picked up the fair food, made Bruce carry her things as she took in all the action and attractions. That is, until showtime. “Bruce, come on! They’re starting in the big tent!” Lei dragged him along for the main event with a twinkle in her eye and a smile as big as the sun.
“You sure seem excited about this.” Bruce took a handful of her popcorn for himself as the music began to blare and a man appeared on stage, welcoming the crowd the Haly’s Circus. It was mesmerizing watching every act, especially the acrobats.
“I could do that.” She whispered to her dad and he chuckled at the claim.
“I could add some equipment to the gym if you’d like to prove that claim.” He whispered back and she nodded eagerly, obsessed with the thought. It was a shame that they’d already reached the final act, the Flying Graysons, but they were fantastic. The coordination, the stunts, the risk factor, Leila was mesmerized.
Until the room fell silent from the shock of the fall. A scream echoed through the tent. Everyone not believing the show’s tragic turn after the trapeze broke and the family of acrobats completed their final act. Leila stopped breathing as soon as it happened, turning this day from the greatest to the worst in just a few second’s time.
“Are you okay?” Bruce asked her, who was just starting to open up to the idea of being a kid. This shocked her to her very core. Lei just silently nodded as Bruce grabbed her hand and walked towards the scene, ready to do whatever he could to help—Bruce Wayne or Batman.
Bruce and Leila took to the ring as paramedics swarmed in, Bruce immediately resonating with the young boy in matching attire to the rest of the Flying Graysons. He was all that was left of them, and Leila knew exactly what Bruce was thinking. “Are we gonna help him?” She tugged on Bruce’s suit jacket sleeve.
“If he’ll let us.” He answered and began to work his charm, offering his condolences and a hand to the boy in need. Dark days were ahead for him, anyone could see. His mother, father, aunt, and cousin were all DOA. His uncle was paralyzed and the boy was left all alone. Dick Grayson, age nine.
“Hi, Dick.” Leila sat beside him at the hospital, a complete stranger who he’d usually be in the mood to talk the ear off of, but now just didn’t feel right. “Mind if I sit here?”
“Go ahead.” He muttered while Bruce spoke to the adults, Haly and the cops in particular.
“I’m Leila.” She introduced herself. “I know you’re gonna get sick of hearing this, but I’m sorry for your loss.” Lei used some of the manners she’d been taught by her adoptive dad.
“Thanks.” His leg bounced up and down as he stared at the floor, completely shaken by his reality.
“Listen, my dad wants to make sure you have a safe and stable place to stay during all of this.” Lei cut to the chase, one messed up kid to another. “He’s been through a similar situation, he knows what you’re going through.”
“Really? You think he knows how this feels?” Dick snapped at her and sniffled, breaking down into tears as the beeping machinery at the hospital overwhelmed his ears. “I doubt anyone knows how this feels!”
“When my dad was eight, his parents were shot dead in an alley. He was standing right in between them. They were all he had.” Leila revealed, proving the mourning circus kid wrong. “You won’t be forced to do anything, I just wanted to give you a heads up, give you some more time to think about it. I’m sorry if I bothered you, it wasn’t my intention.” She stood up from her seat and reconvened with Bruce, letting him know what she just did. This boy looked so defeated, so much like Bruce the day his parents died. Some of the GCPD officers should know. They were there both days, just about 20 years apart.

Tomorrow it will have been a year since Dick had lost his family and gained a new one, one that wasn’t what he expected at all. On the outside, Leila and Bruce were two rich kids with a generational gap, never knew a bit of grief or struggle. But once Dick had learned the truth, turning back wasn’t an option he wanted to exercise. Why would he? He lived with the Batman, trained under his care, adopted a super-identity, and got closure from his family tragedy. He couldn’t change his past, but he could pursue his future.
It’d been a bit over two years since Leila retired the assassin gig and pursued her own future, too. For once, it wasn’t cut out ahead of her. She had options, opportunities, and a life. It was no surprise the League of Shadows tried to contact her several times in an attempt to get her back, guilt her into her “destiny,” but Lei had given up on that future completely. So each time they tried, Leila made sure Bruce knew. Keeping honest between her closest family members, it would solidify that trust she’d already earned.
“Thank you for telling me.” Bruce would tell his daughter, appreciating the information she would share. She had grown so much as a vigilante, but as an individual? It was yet to be seen. She hadn’t attended a school yet, hadn’t made a friend her own age besides her foster brother, Dick. And let’s face it, he was no “normal kid,” either. But they got along well, grew to love each other like family. Dick taught her his acrobatics, Leila taught him her espionage, etcetera. And Wayne Manor wasn’t so quiet anymore. It had laughter, joyful screams, music, heavy footsteps, all a father could want. But hide and seek was still banned, it got quite heated with the two children.
Leila was 11 now, 12 in a few more months. Ready for school. Which was discussed quite a bit between her and her father. The agreement was she’d be enrolled in seventh grade come fall, Gotham Academy. She was smart enough to skip a few grades, but for the sake of her identity, they’d have her skip sixth grade to support her impressive intellect. Lei would have no problem with the “work” part of school, but this was serious. She’d have to acclimate with her peers, separate the assassin from the girl. It was still her first instinct, she’d never be able to shake those original teachings completely, but she learned from her mentor and father that the first thought in her mind would be the way she was raised, the second thought would be the way she learned. And the second thought is always more important.
She had to prep early for the new school year, which was no problem for her. In just a few short months, she would be an academic student. Life was changing, evolving for her, but something else was on her mind.

GOTHAM CITY

2007
They were out on patrol for the night, geared up and on the metaphorical clock. Some wore tights, some wore capes, but they all opted for a mask. It hid more than just their identities.
Batman had his own leads to follow, it was April Fool’s Day, after all. So Demonspawn and Robin called it a team-up for the night. Leila had a specialty in reading people, but anyone could have read this boy. “Are you okay, Robin?” She asked her partner.
“Hm? Oh, yeah. Just a pretty boring night.” He sat on the ledge and looked over the city lights of Gotham, thinking about how this gloomy place was the final stop for his parents in their traveling circus. Lei sat beside him and put her arm around his shoulders.
“I’m not stupid.” Lei replied and Dick chuckled.
“Didn’t say you were.” He leaned on his sister’s shoulder and tried to keep his cool, but she was just one of the few people that could make him let his guard down without even trying. Damn Shadows.
“Then don’t act like it,” Leila pulled the goggles of her mask up to reveal her eyes, “I know what day it is. You do, too.” Dick gulped when she dared speak about it. “Anniversaries can be hard, but I’m here for you.”
“Thanks, Dee.” Dick sighed, still genuinely bored by tonight. April Fool’s Day, so many possibilities. Joker, Mad Hatter, Calendar Man. Could one of them pop up so he’d have someone to focus on.
“Are you glad you found him? Zucco?” Leila decided to ask about him, the man responsible for the curtain closing on the Flying Graysons. Dick was silent for a few moments as he pondered the question.
“I am. I needed justice for my family—my parents. I got it in a way that didn’t completely damage my psyche.” Dick explained and Lei nodded in agreement. “Do you have someone you need justice for, or from?”
“You’ve seen the case files for the League of Shadows, you know what I come from.” She became much more aware of the surroundings below now that she brought up her past, like she was trying to distract herself from all that pain she wasn’t even aware of until she was free. Cars drove by, people walking between their bar hops on a late Saturday night, or early Sunday morning. “I don’t think I could ever get justice from a specific person. Not my mother, not my grandfather. And dismantling the Shadows seems like the best way to go, and the most impossible way.” She secured her goggles over the rest of her face mask once again and laughed at herself a moment. “I think I want justice for my childhood. Well, I know I do. You know, going to the circus a year ago? That was supposed to be one of those things, experiencing something so juvenile and carefree, get some memories, be a kid, but…”
“That didn’t go as planned.” Dick got what she was saying and felt a bit of guilt that Leila had only gotten more damaged seeing his family perform.
“Hey, I got the coolest little brother out of it, though. I always wanted a sibling.” Lei nudged him with her elbow and cheered him up a bit. “You don’t need to hold all your grief about this in. It’s still pretty fresh, it’s okay to be sad, or angry, or confused. Just don’t let it destroy you.”
“I know, I know. You’re right. When we get home, I’ll try to get my mind off off of it.” Robin shrugged, but smirked at the same time. “Maybe you could help?”
“How so?” Demonspawn cocked an eyebrow.
“Movie night?”
“Absolutely.”
