My Commentary: This small but significant sequence takes place not long after Koushiro is revealed to be a canon Adoptee. Mrs. Izumi is fully aware that Koushiro has accepted Mrs. Izumi (+Izumis both) as Koushiro's true parent{s}, however, we are not given indication that the other supporting characters were actually told about 'the secret' of Koushiro's. Shin's surprise, in that regard, can hardly be held too much against Shin - which Mrs. Izumi eventually quickly recognizes, dropping the argument and frustration - Shin was likely completely unaware how strongly Mrs. Izumi felt during these moments, while Mrs. Izumi was likely running on pure adrenaline responding!

Mrs. Izumi, in the original version, is also using a neutrally polite speech pattern that is overall appropriate when speaking to children; Koushiro, in the original, is also known for speaking throughout the entire series with a formal and polite pattern that is "unusual" for Koushiro's age, while it's more "typical" for Mrs. Izumi to use similar in this sequence.

Shin Kido, Jou's 2nd eldest sibling closer in age, the 2nd born of the three Kidos, is the sibling who appears throughout Adventure Episodes 35~39 and later Adventure-specific episodes (such as flashback sequence in Dark Masters arc) specifically. In the 2nd sequel series, "02", Jou's oldest sibling, Shuu, was introduced. The U. S. dub combined "Shin" and "Shuu" into "Jim", a singular character, but they were actually two separate siblings! (Thus, Jou is speaking to Shin as if Shin is the younger of the two siblings, addressing Shin commonly with a 'casual' "Nii-san", though in this scene, Jou sounds surprisingly more 'assured' and perhaps a slight bit 'full of' self, but is quickly grounded by Sora and Mimi not long after.)

Primarchs are a bit.. JUST A BIT easier to deal with. You are, after all, SMALL in comparison. You have places you can physically use to hide from the more physical based primarchs however there are.. quite a few things against you.

Resources. All of these can and will make it to where you can't get anything without their aid.

Superhuman senses. Primarchs and Space Marines both have enhanced sensory organs. Some certainly more so than others (yes I'm implying Leman and Lion will and can both sniff you out like terrifying nightmares. I feel like Angron would as well as Sanguinius would also be very enhanced on the smelling side of things? Thoughts?)

You're fucked against anyone Phsychically able unless you ducktape a blank to you. You're just- How do you hide from something that can see through the warp to you? That's right Magnus n his fucky wucky magics.

TLDR: The idea of clingy primarchs is the same idea I have of Michael Myers: VERY big VERY territorial man who will murder and more than likely harm you as well to make sure you don't leave him

On the other hand, I have some questions about certain specific matters... They are silly, but I'm curious about L's perspective. Considering that contraceptive methods are not 100% effective, how would he feel about having a child? Would he realize it from the beginning if his partner were pregnant? What would his possible reaction be? I don't know, but I believe he hates the typical latex protection. lol

Hahahah, I would love to open requests soon as well! The plan is for August, but since I really want to celebrate 750 followers... We'll just have to see which happens first. If I do hit the 750 follower count, I'll open up 10 slots for requests and then close them again (provided that this is before August). But I am so with you, anon!

As for contraceptive methods... I like to believe that L would be on top of all your medical records, physicians, etc., especially if you're a partner that he frequently sees.

If you're a person with male genitalia there is, of course, no risk for pregnancy, but he still make sure that you get a monthly checkup for STDs. He won't be too pushy, but I believe that despite his appearance, he does care about hygiene and he would rather not engage in sexual matters with a partner who does not do their due diligence.

For partners who have the capability to reproduce, he would absolutely 100% make sure that you can never get pregnant. Since he made it clear that his successor was to be from Wammy's because that's where all the genius children are collected and cultivated, I doubt he would leave it to chance that his partner would end up birthing a child who would be on par with his caliber of intelligence.

Furthermore, his position as the world's greatest detective means that he would have a target on his back at all times, the fact that he even has to pick a successor when he was in his early twenties signifies that a part of him knows that there is a chance he'll die in the line of duty--and at a young age, too.

So, with those factors in mind, I daresay he would take great lengths to make sure that he never has children. (He may not be overly concerned with the emotions/feelings of others, as evidenced by his willingness to commit war crimes during the Kira Case--torturing Misa and imprisoning Light for who knows how long?--but I think a part of him would recoil at the fact that a child fathered by him may face the reality that they may grow up fatherless or worse, orphaned). Therefore, I can imagine him getting a vasectomy at the earliest age possible so he wouldn't have to face the problems of a sexual or romantic partner giving birth.

However, on the off chance that the vasectomy does not take or he simply didn't go through the procedure or neither he nor his partner have used contraceptives, he would be alert and watch his partner like a hawk.

If he trusts his partner enough to engage in sexual relations with them (especially for multiple occasions), I believe that he would know within a few weeks into your pregnancy. If not, those monthly checkups that you are almost forced into enduring will make it more than apparent.

L is not an emotional person. At the news of his partner's pregnancy, he's already gathering the pros and cons of the best path forward. He'll support you in whatever decision you make.

If you want to abort the child, fine for him. It's your choice and he'll gladly schedule an appointment and should you wish it, therapy sessions if you're feeling poorly afterwards.

Should you wish to keep the child, he'll make sure that you're afforded the best gynecologists available. However, like I said, he's not an emotional person. If his partner is feeling particularly needy/craving certain things, he'll more than likely engage in active problem solving rather than provide emotional support. He's going to be busy with cases all the time and he has a life outside of his partner and they should have known this already, so please don't rely on him to come to your beck and call all the time, okay?

When his partner finally gives birth, I don't think he would be available in the delivery room. Chances are, he might have been called away to another country for a new case or because he wants to keep his identity secret, he can't afford to spend time with you or the child. He's pragmatic enough to make sure that you have security around the birthing room and that you're given every pleasure that you could have wanted.

Following the birth, I really don't see L as a loving father or a doting partner. At this point, I think L finally lets his partner go, but gives them a lifetime of money to spend at their own leisure and takes his leave. He'll check in from to time, but he won't let his partner or child know that he's looking in from the inside. Maybe a small part of him cares and that's why he sends an agent to look out for the both of you once in a while, but when the rest of the world sees his partner as a single parent with a young child, he's quick to be reassured that you're safe from his enemies.

One thing is for certain, though: if his child does end up being intellectually gifted, L will do everything in his power to make sure that his child does not end up in the hands of Wammy's House. While the orphanage may appear to be created with good intentions, that does not excuse the fact that so many of the alumni and current residents there have suffered so much in the name of his so-called noble cause.

If there's one good that he will do for his child, is that if his partner were to ever die or abandon the child, he'll make sure that they are placed in a loving home where they will want for nothing.

Thanks for the question, anon! I think you meant the question in jest, since you did say something about latex protection (and I agree, I think he would find the sensation too tight and restrictive and would definitely do away with it), but I went on a train of thought and well... heheheh.

i think like. my relation to beauty/looks whatever is largely defined by knowing that people who are conventionally attractive just have more power over other people, especially men. Like a lot of men see conventionally attractive women as a status symbol or as an aspirational thing-to-own and that means they will listen to them more.

it’s also just proven sociologically that people who are perceived as attractive make more money, get hired, get promoted more. and on that level i feel inadequate. Like I wish I could have that power, I wish I had the power for people to look at me and go ‘whoa’. So occasionally I will feel terrible about my looks and my style and like everything about how I present myself.

But tbh me being that is as much of a fantasy as me being able to fly and I mean that so seriously. I am so fundamentally uncomfortable with performing femininity like 90% of the time. Even if it is like bad-ass femininity or whatever. Like any flavor of it makes me uncomfortable. I have moments where I enjoy it but they are getting fewer and further in between as I get older.

And then obviously there’s the matter of my body just genetically. I could be a lot fitter and be perceived as a lot more attractive, I could tan and wear makeup and learn how to do my hair but frankly and honestly…. I’m just never gonna be the ideal of beauty that is prevalent in society. I’d have to at the very least get a nose job and likely more surgery to achieve that and plastic surgery just starts to show at some point so thats futile anyway. And doing all of these things, even before the plastic surgery is so fucking expensive and i would just rather spend the money i have on other things.

and then finally, like the end of it is this: I don’t want to do all that. Like I might be convinced to do it all and change everything about myself if i was guaranteed to be perceived as beautiful and to get more out of life because of it. But for all the reasons mentioned I would never be guaranteed it and even if i /did/ achieve the model look or whatever i am very certain that would a) come with its own problems and b) still not make up for other areas where i lack and c) drain a lot of energy that i already dont have.

Like it’d tbh be an unnatural state for me, it would mean eating very little and exercising a lot and all the things i just mentioned and it still would not be guaranteed. I would just rather have a nice life than chase that. Not to mention that society is literally working against all of us in redefining what’s considered beautiful every 3 years.

By his behaviour, it'd be only natural assume the next plague was in its beginning stages, with Mr. Clint Barton as PATIENT ZERO. Jessica had been listening to his sniffling nose and phlegmy coughs for a while now, and truthfully, there might have been a time where this drove her downright insane.

But not this time.

Instead, she mostly pities him, luckily immune to this sort of seasonal Hell herself. Not biologically if we’re talking headcanons and obviously there is nothing to imply this in actual canon.

But in my hc world, she raised him up from the time he was pretty young, so they have an almost mother-son bond, but it’s broken because he starts projecting his actual mother’s memory onto Eileen, who doesn’t realize this. And Crow’s actual mother…was…a certain way, so it gets messy. I’m fully going off the rails into my own world here, but I wanted to explain that while she’s not his bio mother, he starts treating it that way and it leads to their conflict.
