#kinda wanna write a sam x reader too now
Text
Little less than super, soldier
Tumblr media
Basically an oc x zemo fic but I'm going to write it in y/n style because that's what I'm comfortable with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also I am still working on Avatar and Spiderman fics just taking a self indulgent break because the FOCUStm is on Zemo rn.
Your characters background is clear as the story progresses but if you'd prefer to know it going in this is a post on it! And this is a short fic of that info too ✌
This is a part one... I got so excited and wrote a few more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Summary: Sam gets back up from an old friend, meanwhile y/n is struggling to deal with Zemo.
warnings: for now canon typical violence, tho later chapters will contain mild body horror. Warnings will specify.
Nicht - Don't
Tut mir leid - I'm sorry
Soldat - Soldier
(My german is very basic so feel free to correct me!)

Sam hadn't seen you in years, not since he watched you walk away from him, Bucky and Steve. He couldn't argue with their decision, it was for the best. You were a wreck and despite his best hopes he knew you were right. If anyone knew you were alive they'd use you again.
Still he wasn't too surprised when you turned up at his house. He'd only been back from dust a few days earlier but he'd heard from others that you'd been there. Stepping up to help when people around the globe needed you. He hadn't realized the broken person he'd met screaming in a cell had so much heart.
Still you were a ball of nerves, being overly polite and stumbling over your questions. It was a far cry from the swearing, snapping venom you'd spit when the Avengers had you and it put him a little on edge. You just wanted to know if he was okay, if they all were and that you'd be leaving again. He'd given your shoulder a squeeze, despite the flinch, and wished you the best. You'd settled quickly under his had and that was the first time he saw you really smile.
He found the number a few hours later. A tiny scrap you'd somehow tucked into his own jean pocket. A small note, "Just in case." He felt oddly proud of who you'd become and kept it into his wallet.
That day passed into fond memory but every so often a little note and number would turn up. A small reminder you were out there and willing to help again. A few times he thought to call but he didn't. No point worrying you or pulling you back for nothing.
Only this wasn't nothing now. He and Bucky were stumped and with the threat of super-soldiers and he knew you'd want to know. Though the idea of dragging you back it was horrible. He felt the weight of his decision bearing down on his shoulders. Sam slumped further into his chair as he eyed the message. Then with a last deep breath in, his thumb tapped the glass.
Sent. Delivered. Read. Ellipsis.
Then nothing. He waited, head in hands, regretting it immediately. It wasn't like you wouldn't be a huge help but dragging you back like this? It just didn't feel right. Even if you came what could you know anyway? Hydra weren't exactly open with you about things whilst in there clutches. Hell you might end up coming to draw gun fire and that thought twisted his gut. Sam watched the screen until his eyes burnt, then let his head hit the desk.
The buzz startled him some time later. He flung out his seat, scrambling to the message. Bucky, whatever he had been up to after visiting Zemo he was ready to meet. Sam's shoulders sagged as he read the text. He wasn't disappointed, not really. He knew he was asking too much by contacting you. The risk to your freedom was eminence. There was no telling who was still out there looking for you, other than SWORD anyway.
Still Sam couldn't help but feel down as he got his things ready. God only knows what Bucky had done and meeting him across town in some garage didn't bode well.
Maybe you'd settled down somewhere, maybe you were happy. He hoped so, that you'd chosen yourself. Sam fortified himself, squaring his shoulders as he headed to the door. No point stalling, he needed to find out what Bucky had been up to.
He swung the door out quickly but found his feet rooted in place. There you were, frozen with a hand in the air ready to knock. A mess of hair, in sweatpants and an old thread bare t-shirt, looking rather stunned. He stared a moment, watching your mouth bob open and shut, over night bag slipping down your shoulder.
"Y/n!" Sam couldn't help the grin that spread across his face. To his relief your posture relaxed and you returned his smile. "Come on, Bucky might have something, we'll meet him across town."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You knew you should try to stop bouncing your leg but every time you lost focus it jumped to life. You didn't want Sam to see you worried like this. He'd always been so kind to you and you didn't doubt he'd let you leave if you asked. You couldn't however, no matter how much it felt like jaws were gonna snap down on you.
He'd been so nice in the car over, being careful to avoid touching you, asking after your life, avoiding making you speak any specifics. You appreciated that, although your run down, rented flat and part time jobs were hardly worth the effort. Hell you'd struggled enough making nice with coworkers, maybe a fresh start would be nice after this.
You'd wanted to call Sam. You'd wanted to check in with him and his family. For a time you even considered contacting Wanda but you never liked someone else in your mind with you. No you'd resigned yourself to the loneliness. Maybe you should get a pet.
"Is it Bucky?" Sam offered, eyes glancing to you before returning to scanning the room. "You know after Wakanda he's..."
"Yes I know." You interrupted, stilling yourself again. You'd actually gone to see him shortly after checking in with Sam. A guilty part of you had felt relieved when he'd disappeared. Though after the five year absence you felt you had to see him too.
He'd been starting therapy at the time, was working, he was doing well all things considered. Still you'd felt the need to check, to be sure the Soldat was gone. You'd left then satisfied that the man you'd known wasn't behind those kind sad eyes and that this Bucky that stood in his skin was not a threat. Still an incredibly able soldier just not of the winter variety. Anyway it wasn't him you were worried about.
When Sam had fully explained the situation you'd blanched. These flag-smashers had access to the serum. Not the same one you'd had pumped into you but a better one. One that left them with the strength and power of Captain America, not just side effects.
Still no matter what it cost, you couldn't leave knowing the serum was out there somewhere. So you'd focus on that, let it anger you, burn away any doubt and drive you forward.
You heard him before you saw him. Loud deliberate steps, Sam must have let him know you'd be there. Unless they were so as not to startle Sam. Regardless there was little more than a tight smiles shared before Bucky led you both further in to the garage.
You wouldn't say you were on comfortable terms with him yet. He was still guilt ridden about the Soldat's memories with you and you were still a little unnerved with a new man wearing the same face. It was nice to see him so happy though. Even in this circumstance his mood seemed far different than you'd ever seen him. Here's to therapy you supposed.
Bucky's plan seemed rather extreme. Break Zemo out and have him help. You had to admit it seemed rather extreme. The ex Colonel was part of an elite intelligence op and had a history of hating Avengers. Though he also hated super soldiers more so that might keep him on their side. Enemy of my enemy and all that.
Except you'd be among the enemy in that case. It wasn't outside the realms of possibility that Zemo didn't know about you. After all his search through the leaked files where rather singular in their aims. Your particular information had been lost or redacted so heavily that without specific knowledge on you it would be hard to link the two.
You continued to follow behind Sam, keeping your eyes on the shadows, watching your back. Some stress was elevated when Bucky flipped the lights on, continuing his back and forth with Sam after shooting a soft look at you. Nothing got past his notice.
If they kept this bickering up you'd be there all day. You slunk over to a car under the lights, perching on the open bonnet. You couldn't help the fondness in your smile as you watched their amusing relationship. Giggling to yourself as Sam rolled his eyes with his whole body, raising his brows to you.
"Look, let me just walk you through a hypothetical. Can I just walk you through a hypothetical." Bucky started.
"What did you do?" Sam questioned, his brow furrowing as he turned back to face him.
You felt tense again, arms uncrossing from your chest. You weren't quiet sure what was going on now. Clearly Sam had caught on to something you'd missed. Bucky launched into a far too detailed plan and you felt a shiver run down your spine. Every hair stood on end as the dawning realization hit.
"You didn't..." You almost whispered as Sam interrupted again. Then the door was opening and your ears were ringing. Your heart pounded in your throat as Sam charged forward in front of you. You were still stunned, now behind them both as Zemo entered the garage, dressed in a guards uniform.
He caught eyes with you for a moment, taking his hat off before returning to Sam and Bucky's argument. His eyes seemed to drift back to you before he interjected again.
You found yourself standing under his scrutinizing gaze, drifting closer to Sam, inching him further between you and Zemo. You barely followed what was being said, waiting for him to pull a gun or stop staring. Either was preferable in this moment.
"Okay." Sam spoke, defeat in his tone. You clenched your jaw. You didn't like this. If the guy wasn't gonna attack he was going to manipulate his way to his release, you were sure.
Still he seemed cooperative, leading you all back to a larger room filled with old cars. They were expensive things but you didn't let your eyes wander from him. Choosing to break the middle of the pack, you kept yourself between Sam and him. Despite his words and values you wanted to remain vigilant. If you could do nothing else you'd shield Sam.
Other than a few snide comments he seemed true to his word. He drove the group of you to an airport in mostly silence. Peaking back at you and Sam through the mirror.
"So all this time you've been rich?" Sam said incredulous at the sight of the privet jet on the tarmac. You'd calmed down a little, walking by him and Bucky's side as you followed.
"I'm a Baron Sam, my family was royalty until your friends destroyed my country." Zemo spat back. You couldn't help but snort at his comment. You regretted drawing his attention again when he stared back at you. You looked away until his attention left, drawn else where.
Bucky and Sam eyed you a moment and the indignation flared in you again. "What? They dropped that city on me." you hissed quietly. You weren't sure you wanted Zemo to hear that. Sam looked stunned blinking at you before he was turned back to the plane. You fell back in step behind the group as you approached.
You suppose you never did tell him about that. Just letting it stew with your general hatred towards your then captors back then. It'd been a huge loss to you. A life built there crashing down on top of you, leaving you broken and pinned for days. You shook the memories away trying to forget the carnage.
Zemo greeted an old butler looking guy at the steps. To your delight he was wearing the little white gloves and everything. Sam awkwardly nodded and you gave the man a genuine smile as you passed. He was just like the caricature on TV. He looked to be 100 and considering his familiarity with Zemo he could've known him all his life.
It soon set you on edge to be at his mercy 1000 feet in the air. With a knowing look he could fly you all anywhere and you'd be none the wiser. Certainly wouldn't make a change from most flights you'd been on, at least your hands would be free.
Zemo smiled at you as you boarded, gesturing to the seat opposite his own. You ducked your head, shifting quickly to the back behind Sam. If the staring was bad in the garage you sure as hell didn't wanna experience it in direct line of sight.
You didn't catch his name but Zemo spoke to the butler in Sokovian for a moment, implying he'd give out of date food to Sam and Bucky. Angered you huffed, Zemo turning at the sound. You caught his eye, keeping a glare set on his smug expression.
"Nicht." You bit out through gritted teeth. Your Sokovian was rusty but you saw the slightest change in Zemo's expression, before it settle back into a cat like grin.
"Tut mir leid." He nodded, turning back to face forwards again. Sam's head peaked at you from round his seat but you just slumped back into your own. Staring out the window and gripping the arm rests as the plane took flight.
Not long into cruising altitude Zemo angered Bucky. You hadn't been paying them much attention by this point. You'd found yourself relaxing and had become dazzled my the ice on the window and fluffy clouds below. You were startled back by the sudden movement of Bucky. Jumping up and catching Bucky's eye as he took his hand off Zemo's neck and slumped back into his seat, his book back in his hands.
Cursing under your breath you moved to the seat in front of Zemo now. You resigned yourself to a task to keep you awake, stop them from killing one another.
Zemo spoke an apology, but it seemed more probing than you liked. To your relief Sam seemed to turn the conversation back to lighter topics. You slid further into your seat a moment before Zemo began pushing again. You glare into him, not missing the way he glanced at you when he said "innocents die."
A small pang of fear hit you but you bit back a response. He'd clearly caught the hint of resentment you felt towards what happened in Sokovia. Still you kept your gaze level as you bit your cheek and allowed Zemo to continue.
Madripoor, you'd only ever been there in passing. The lawless nature allowed you to obtain some fake documents for relatively cheap. It was too risky to stick around though, too many dangers, too much risk of outing yourself.
Worse still Bucky was gonna have to put on an old mask.

Australian kinda Christmas
Leah Williamson x Arnold!Reader
Tumblr media
ava what is that shitty header photo job…
tumblr fucked up its quality
anyways I’ve been thinking about writing this one for ages now
enjoy <3
——————————
“c’mon love” you groaned at your 10th attempt to get your girlfriend up from your Power Nap. You pair were already late as it is “don’t you wanna shower before you can’t for a whole 24 hours?” You asked, her head still buried in the pillows. She stayed like that, contemplating for another second before getting up and heading to the bathroom “don’t be long” you said before tapping her ass just as she opened the bathroom door.
You got a text from your sister Mackenzie telling you that she was already at her lay over flight and would be boarding again in an hour. This year you pair didn’t get the same flight over for the Christmas break. But it was the first year you would both be bringing your girlfriends with you.
You and leah had been together 4 years now. The second year you spent Christmas with Leah’s family, last year you and mac both went with your parents overseas for Christmas. And this year you would both be bring Leah and Kirsty.
Some how an hour and a half later you were just passing security only just and were going to get some small snacks for the plane. Leah, with the food palate of a 6 year old. Got some watermelon gummies “they help with feeling sick on the plane” she tried to convince you as you glanced over the packet she said was holding.
“4 years and not once have you been sick on a flight” you said
“The headaches” she shrugged and smiled at you. Of course you were gonna grab them off her and buy them for her. You grabbed some random chip snack you found at the front counter and shorty paid before handing the bag to Leah to put in her carry on. You were both absolutely beyond excited. This would be her 5th time in Australia, so she’s been heaps. But you would be staying at your family’s new place on the Gold Coast, QLD. You both sat in the lounge near your gate as you took a photo of Leah as she threw a Lolly into her mouth while smiling. Quickly adding it to your instagram captioning ‘see you soon 🇦🇺’
———
After 26 hours of travel. And your sleepy girlfriend who was currently clinging to your bicep as she slept. It was asked to put on your seatbelts as you went for landing. You slowly woke Leah up slightly so she would be ready for it.
You held hands as Leah started giggling about her funny dream. You looked out the window and squeezed your girlfriend’s hand extra tight as you saw the coastline of Australia.You squealed like a little girl due to your excitement as Leah pressed a kiss to your lips. “Welcome home love” she said before laying back in her seat. You took photos and sent them to your dad and brother to let them know you would be at GC airport in about 45 minutes so they could you pick you both up. You also texted your mum just out of excitement before putting your phone away.
Once you and Leah had gotten off the plane, you walked your tired asses over to the baggage collection. Before you felt someone tap your shoulder. You turned to find your smiling dad and brother. You quickly clung on to them both in a huge hug “oh how i missed you oh my gosh” you said into your brothers neck with a sigh of relief. You also felt small hands tug your sweat shorts, you didn’t realise one of your nieces would be here too.
“Hello beautiful girl!” You squealed pulling away from your brother as you picked up your niece and spun the giggling girl around.
“I missed you so much!” She said before quickly clinging to your neck.
“I missed you so much more” you smiled back. You hadn’t seen the small girl since the World Cup back in August.
You held her on your hip as you turned around to see your girlfriend finally hugging your dad and brother Sam with a big smile. After struggling to get both of your large suitcases off the conveyor belt while you had your mini family reunion.
“Aunty Lee!” You niece squirmed in your arms as you put her down so she could run to Leah.
“Hello you!” Your girlfriend smiled and she knelt down to give her a big hug. It melted your heart the way she was with your nieces.
Leah handed you your suitcase as you pecked her cheek before you rolled it out the airport with your smiling niece riding on top.
“Hello” you yelled out once your dad unlocked the front door to your parents home. You were met with your mum, 2 nieces, Mackenzie and Kirsty all rushing around the corner at the sound of the front door.
You and Leah gave all of them bone crushing hugs and chatted for a little while, had some of the left overs that was left from their dinner since you told them not to wait. It was already 10pm. It was convenient for your girlfriend and you so you could just get yourselves straight to bed.
——————————-
After multiple days of walks down on the beach, family dinners, more surfing lessons for Leah, lots of jet lag, swimming pools and relaxation for you and your girlfriend. It was officially Christmas Eve night and you couldn’t have been more excited if you had tried.
You, leah, Macca and Kirsty were all on the living room floor carpet wrapping presents. Everyone else was in bed. But the four girls in their twenties were not as prepared as everyone else and still had to do all their wrapping.
The holiday played on the TV in front as you had about 40 gifts to wrap for people. For everyone in your family besides the people in the room with you currently. “Stupid wrapping paper argh!” You groaned knocking your head back in frustration as the huge cut of wrapping paper you cut wasn’t large enough by a few centimetres.
“See you didn’t even need to get that gift in the first place” Leah laughed. As you were wrapping your 20th gift for your parents, you comepletely spoil them every year.
You dragged Leah around the large shopping centre to get more gifts for people. “Baby you bought your mum the same scent candle last year i remember you showed me” she grinned as you looked at the box before putting it in your trolley. “Yeah but it probs ran out. That’s the thing with candles lee” you debated back as she shook her head with laughter.
“Sorry I’m just so nice to the People i love” you said to her.
“And you absolutely are, beautiful. But I don’t think we will be able to get return flights anymore once we leave here” Leah said.
“I make alright money Leah Williamson. Plus if you think this is a lot wait till you open your presents.” You smiled at her
“There’s only just a few things I want” she grinned at you as you both walked to the car
“What would those be baby” you smirked back.
“You…and that pop corn machine thing I showed you”
“You showed me that just yersterday! How am I supposed to get that” You panicked. When it came to gifts you were amazing at giving them. Everyone knew that and got excited to receive one from you. If they weren’t perfect for them you would always worry.
“I’m only joking…” she laughed as she kissed your head “at the second one”.
Once you were finished you cuddled up next to Leah on the floor against the couch to watch the end of the movie. Before heading upstairs to your room “night love you” you yelled out softly to mac and Kirsty “goodnight!” They replied before shutting their door. Leah changed out of her normal clothes that she strangely got into after her shower earlier in the night.
“Please match baby” you pouted, sitting on the edge of the bed holding up the Christmas Pajamas that matched yours.
Leah laughed as she saw them, “when did you get those” she said before cupping your face and kissing the tip of your nose.
“Back in London. I forgot I had packed them. Anyways here” you shoved them into her chest with the wide smile of a toddler.
“Of course I will” Leah skipped away to her dresser to change quickly. You giggled getting under the sheets before Leah jumped on top of you just as you were leaning over to plug your phone in. You laughed as she wrapped her long arms around you and placed kisses all over you shoulder.
“I’m so excited to for tomorrow” you smiled looking down on her.
“Me too” the English girl replied as she rolled over so you could cuddle into her side. That’s how you slept every night. It was just the best way that your bodies melted into each other. “Love you baby” she whispered.
“Night beautiful” you smiled before drifting off to sleep.
——-
Christmas morning started with slow cuddles in bed with Leah before very hyper toddlers came running down the bedroom door. They had forced you to come downstairs because they weren’t allowed to “open presents until everyone is awake”.
Leah gave multiple gifts to everyone in your family. Even though she hadn’t met some of them heaps. You gifted Leah a new designer tote bag, some belt she wanted, 2 new Apple Watch bands, YSL perfume, and Tiffany earrings along with other small gifts. She spoiled you loads as well. You two spent a long phone call with her mum before lunch started.
The afternoon was still hot. As the rain cleared, you dragged Leah, your sister and everyone down to the beach.
You were putting on sunscreen in the long mirror in your room. Leah had just done up her bikini before coming up behind you “let me help” she grinned as you were reaching for your back for the sunscreen. You gladly let her as she took the bottle from you. She rubbed gentle circles into your back with the cream, you groaned when her hands made their way up to you shoulders.
“That’s nice” you breathed out as she massaged your back. She sent a grin to the mirror.
“Let’s go” she said before tapping your butt and heading out the door, sunnies on her head. You laughed to yourself as you followed her out. You carried two of your nieces the whole Walk down while talking with Leah and Kirsty. Talking about Kristy mewis’s new transfer to their club.
“I don’t want to jinx anything. But I had a dream last night I did my ACL” you blurted.
“What-“ Kirsty laughed as you said so
“That’s not funny” Leah said
“And then…I died from it. Is that possible?”
“No it’s not. And you’re not going to do your ACL alright?” Leah reassured
“Shit who’s done their ACL?” Mackenzie said catching up to all of you with your third niece on her shoulders.
“Maybe me”
“What!-“
“No!” Leah said putting her towel down in a mess on the beach. You jumped on macca’s back as she ran down to the water. Leah and Kirsty slowly following down after.
“Come here!” You yelled, arms wide open for your niece to jump into them as you took her to the deep end. Leah laughed taking a photo of you and the small girl. “Get in Lee!” You yelled out to her
“Yep soon hang on” she said typing something on her phone. You rose out of the water, putting the child in your arms down near Mackenzie as you ran up to your girlfriend. “No no no” she said backing away.
You somehow, caught up to her and threw her over her shoulder
“No no I have my phone y/n!” She yelled. You muzzled it out of her hand and slowly put in down on the sand next to you.
“Down we go” you sung. As you carried the laughing girl into the water. Before completely dumping her in fully.
“Your done” she huffed as she pushed the wet hair out of her face. You swam and hid behind your taller sister as she just grabbed you by the shoulders and placed you in front of her, right in target for Leah.
“Thanks” your girlfriend said before pushing your shoulders under. The water was actually cold for the humid weather outside.
————
It was late at Christmas night. Technically very early Boxing Day. And even though at 1am, there was light Christmas tunes playing on the radio tv.
Everyone including Leah was asleep in the house. You came down for a midnight snack. You had been for the past few nights here.
“Shockers” a soft voice was heard a long with footsteps. The presence of your older sister brought a smile to your lips. You stuffed the last bit of pavlova in your mouth. “Anymore of that?” She pointed to the dessert.
You just giggled implying you at the last bit. “Again shockers”
“Oi”
“I feel like I haven’t seen you in a year”
“You never got back to me about meeting back in London. And you missed last camp” you implied
“I know sorry. Promise to try more”
“Stop you do try. You were just injured” you said softly as you poured both of you a water. “Are you planning on going with Kirsty to her family next year?” You asked curious.
“Yeah most likely I haven’t been there for Christmas before. What about you?”
“Yeah I’ll probs stay in London with Leah. I told you Caitlin brought Katie and Jordan here?”
“Yes. I’m shocked about Jordan. Not Katie. Oh I love her” she said sipping her water then refilling it
“They’re just really close as a three. Caitlin said today Sam is heading back to America in 2 days to go back with Kristie”
“Damn maybe she’ll finally feel jet lag for once. And did Caitlin call you?”
“Yeah. Just to say merry Christmas and all that”
“She didn’t call me” Mackenzie said joking in a sour way. You poked your tongue out at her as she yawned.
“Ok I’ll go back to bed. I’ve been up since 5”
“5?!”
“Yeah. The girls woke us up first. Proof I’m the favourite?”
“Maybe I’m the favourite and they just respect my beauty sleep more”
“Keep dreaming. Night. Get to sleep so your not cranky” you sister said, back to her bossy self. You heard more footsteps coming back down 1 minute later.
“Love come back to bed” said your love in a croaky voice. You turned to find Leah in her short Pyjama set and her hair everywhere.
“Hello. Looks like you slept well” you said pointing to the sheet marks left from her pillow on her check las you quickly pecked her all over her face.
“Yes I did. And I would like to get back to it. With you” she tugged you slightly back up the stairs.
“I think I’m still a bit jet lagged” you said as your body stayed leaning against the bench. Eating the strawberry punnet you grabbed out of the fridge earlier before.
“Ya think” she giggled now pulling out a kitchen stool to sit with you. The faint sound of The Christmas song by Nat King Cole was played over the radio.
“C’mon dance with me, then bed I promise” you put both your hands out the help her get up and slow dance with you.
“Only cause I get to sleep” she smiled taking your hands. You slowly started dancing with her as she put her head in the crook of her neck. The dance slowed into a long hug with each other’s embrace in the middle of the kitchen.
“I love you” you mumbled slowly into her hair
“Love you most. And again thanks for bringing me” she pecked your shoulder
“Wouldn’t miss the opportunity for the world”

Today's weather wasn't perfect. It was raining, the wind was blowing as crazy and you're pretty sure you heard the weather girl saying that there is a possibility of a storm.
So obviously none of you were up for going out.
Currently you were sitting with Katrina in her and Sam's room while your boyfriends were watching something downstairs.
"I love her" Kat said showing you some tik tok edit of Taylor Swift with her newest boyfriend. It was so cute.
"I'm kinda bored" you stated after the next few minutes of mindless scrolling through tik tok.
"Me too." Katrina pouted "Should we prank boys?"
You perked at that idea and looked at the girl with a mischievous smirk just to see her sporting the same smirk.
"Do you have something in your mind?" you asked and she nodded vigorously.
"Some time ago I saw it on tik tok. There was this boy who pranked his boyfriend. But was it really a prank? I feel like Sam and Colby would love it..." she wondered.
"Tell me what it was first" you laughed.
"So he 'couldn't stop' kissing his boyfriend. Like literally every time he was next to him, he had to kiss some part of his boy's body and then when they were sitting he was just like a koala and stopping him from playing with kissing." she explained and started looking for said video on her phone.
"How did the boyfriend react?"
"That's the thing, he was annoyed! But I honestly don't think that our boys would be annoyed. They are clingy so I think they would actually love it." you both laughed at her words.
|||
You and Katrina decided to separately prank Sam and Colby in your rooms so it wouldn't be suspicious when you both started kissing them nonstop.
So now you were in your room laying in bed waiting for Colby to come out of the bathroom.
When he finally came out and saw you in bed he didn't waste a minute before jumping on a space next to you.
"Hi love, watcha doing?" he asked and then smiled when you kissed his cheek.
"Nothing much, I'm just bored." you shrugged and he faked a gasp.
"Oh no! Can I help you somehow to stop the boredom?" he asked and you sat on his waist straddling him.
"I just wanna kiss you." you just said while kissing his jaw, and then cheek, then the other one, then his forehead, then nose and then finally his lips. This kiss lasted longer and Colby was more than glad to reciprocate this one.
Then when you stopped kissing, you were back to peppering his face with little kisses and what can you say? Colby wasn't opposed to it.
Colby's love language actually were little things like kisses, touches and cute gestures, so of course this was like a reward for him.
You knew this for sure wouldn't annoy him so you decided that when he will try to do something later, like playing, editing or just chilling on his phone, you would also be there, kissing him.
You laid there for a few more minutes with you kissing every inch of his face, neck and hands when he finally decided he's hungry so you both went to the kitchen.
While you sat on the counter, he started making crepes for you two. And every time he was next to you, to reach for something, you stopped him for a moment to place kisses on his lips, cheek and nose. And every time he only smiled and kissed your forehead.
And basically the rest of that day looked like that and Colby not once was annoyed so you decided to take it to the next level.
When Colby was sitting at his desk to start editing you sat on his lap straddling them and just hugged him while leaving a cute kiss on the side of his neck. Colby again just smiled and with you on his lap he started editing. All this time you were kissing some part of his body. Face, neck, his arms and chest, just everything that was in your reach.
When you were leaving little kisses on his chest he finally addressed you.
"Baby, you know I love it when you kiss me but I can't focus on editing." he said while holding your chin away from his chest.
"Aw but you're so kissable today, just can't help it." you shrugged while pouting a little.
He laughed cutely and kissed your nose "You will be the death of me." he didn't waste a moment to pick you up by your thighs and with you in his arm he went to your bed where this time he was the one straddling you.
Needless to say how it ended.
And well, maybe you should consider this prank as a failure since he wasn't annoyed at all but how could you be disappointed when you ended up like that?

You were on the couch watching tv while you waited for your boyfriend to come over. He said he had to finish studying and he’d be on his way. Which was over 30 minutes ago, but you’re sure there was a good excuse for it! He was a busy guy so you usually had to be patient and wait for him.
You were mindlessly scrolling on your phone as you laid on the couch. You missed him a lot, lately there hadn’t been a lot of time to just relax and enjoy each others company. You lived with Sam, Tara, and Quinn and Ethan lived with Chad. So between school work and roommates you could never really be alone.
Quinn always barged in which was weird in certain situations or Tara and Sam would be arguing and Chad was Chad and always wanted to third wheel to embarrass Ethan.
You were about to text Ethan again before you heard a knock at the door. You threw the blanket off of you and ran towards the door and unlocking it quickly. “Hi, sorry I’m late,” your boyfriend said standing there with a shy smile on his face holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers. “Eth, you didn’t have to do that,” you smiled brightly at him as you gently took it from his hands.
“No, but I wanted to. I felt bad for holding you up.”
“Thank you,” you said softly before giving him a quick peck on the lips, “You can sit down on the couch, I’m just gonna put these up.” He nodded and you quickly walked away from him and towards the kitchen causing Ethan to get a good look at your shirt. The design looked really familiar to him.
You found a glass big enough for the flowers and delicately took them out of the packaging. You grabbed all of them at once since it wasn’t a large bouquet and put them in, “There!” You tried walking away but were stopped when you felt two big arms wrapping around your waist followed by Ethan’s chin on your shoulder. “You’re wearing my shirt, aren’t you?”
You smiled and turned around so that you were now facing him, his arms still around your waist. “Maybe I am, what’s it to you?” He chuckled, “Nothing, I’m just kinda surprised is all?” “Surprised?” You asked confused and Ethan’s cheeks turned red, “I don’t know, it just looks good on you,” he said quietly. You kissed his cheek, “You’re so cute,” you giggled as you began to kiss his other cheek, then his head, then his nose, and then finally his lips.
You sighed as you both relaxed into the kiss, as this had been something you both were craving all day. You slowly put your arms around his neck and gently tugged him closer to you. The kiss was slow and passionate but Ethan eventually pulled away from you, smiling.
“I really do like seeing you in my shirt,” he said softly. “Don’t flatter yourself too much, I couldn’t find anything comfy to wear.” He rolled his eyes and you kissed his lips again. It was longer than a peck but shorter than what you guys did before. “So what movie do you wanna watch?” he asked. “You can pick-” but you didn’t have time to finish your sentence before he picked you up and walked towards the couch.
“Ethan! Put me down, what are you doing?”
He sat you down and flopped down next to you. “I was thinking a horror movie,” he told you. You hummed, “Of course you were.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” “Nothing!” You laughed.
“I think you’re just jealous you can’t handle horror movies.”
He looked away to focus back on picking a movie and you rolled your eyes playfully. You noticed he had the same dumb smile on his face as you probably did which only made you smile more as you got comfortable on the couch and held onto his arm. You put your head on his shoulder as you watched him scroll through movies.
He finally found one and out the remote onto the coffee table before leaning back and wrapping his arm around you. “It really does look good on you,” he said toying with the hem of the shirt. “I’m beginning to think you’re only saying that because it’s your shirt,” you said looking up at him. He smiled a bit, “Maybe. “Im not getting it back am I?”
“Not a chance”
You both giggled and you put your head back on his shoulder and muttered a quiet “I love you.” The movie had just started and you were already growing a little tired but you couldn’t help it, he gave you so much comfort.
“I love you too.”

————————————————————————
the morning after. you woke up before ethan just admiring the sleeping boy laid next to you, thinking about last night. something about him got you and he’s all you want. couple minutes after you woke up he began to stir, looking over at you as if you were a dream.
“good morning pretty boy,” you greeted.
“good morning,” he rasped in his morning voice. god if he was gonna sound like that in the mornings we’d be doing something different right now.
“what’d you think of last night,” you asked.
“it was great,” he blushed clearly reliving the events of last night.
“good, would you wanna do it more?”
“oh right now,-” he perked starting to sit up on the bed.
“easy there pretty boy,” you laughed, “i meant generally but i’ll just be taking that as a yes.”
“ohhh ok yea, definitely a yes,” he added, “imma go grab a shower, i’ll be right back.
he got up from the bed and walked around to your side, kissing you briefly before leaving the bedroom. you laid looking at the ceiling for a bit, thinking about last night once again. your thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door,
“back already?” you called out.
“it’s me sex demon,” you heard tara say as she opened the door, “making sure you’re decent, god knows if you have clothes on after last night.”
“oh no were we loud?” you asked.
“no just the occasional ‘oh my god ethan’ ,” she faked moaned, “and can’t forget about the ‘oh oh oh my god,” in her best ethan voice.
“oh god, i can’t,” you covered your face with your hands, peeking through you started, “wait what about you and chad, anything happen?”
“nada, kinda a turn off when you and ethan are over here fucking like it’s your last day on earth.”
“ok we didn’t fuck yet just some… other stuff.”
“mmhmm, well you might wanna get out of sam’s room before she gets up here because she definitely thought you were in my room.”
“oh shit you’re right,” you said getting up off the bed and heading over to tara’s room.
as you walked to tara’s room you heard the shower running and knew ethan was in there.
“i have to get something from the bathroom.”
“ethan’s in there,” she stated.
you didn’t answer, just smiled as you walked backwards to the bathroom. tara flicked you off jokingly as you entered quickly and shut the door.
“hello,” you heard ethan call out from behind the curtain, “chad i swear to god if you’re trying to scare me right now-“
“not chad.”
poking his head out of the shower he saw you sitting there on the bathroom counter, “oh hey, i’m almost done in here so you should be good.”
“it’s hot as fuck in here,” you told him as you drew shapes on the mirror.
you heard him turn the faucet off and saw him reach out to grab his towel, “yea i usually take hot showers.”
he stepped out of the shower with the towel wrapped low on his waist, revealing his v-line. his hair was still curly, resting on his head like a mop. you beckoned him closer with your hand. as he came more within your reach you grab his hand and pulled him closer to you, kissing him passionately. he melted into the kiss, allowing you to take control. as he moaned you slipped your tongue into his mouth, tasting him completely unable to get enough. your hands drifted to his wet hair while his went to your waist drawing you forward, closer to him. you tangled your hands in his curls, pulling at them making him groan into the kiss. as he pulled you closer you felt his growing length against your core, he grinded against you, giving you both some kind of release. suddenly you had a thought. pushing him back slightly you hopped off the counter onto the ground without disconnecting your lips. ethan’s back was now against the counter while you stood in front of him. you kissed him harder, now palming his cock hidden under the towel.
you separated your lips, moving to kiss down his body instead. you kissed down the middle of his chest, swiping across his nipples with your tongue. ethan groaned continuously as you worked your way down, head rolling back in pleasure. next you got to his abs, tracing the ridges with your tongue all the way to his v-line. as you were kneeling in front of him now, you dropped his towel, freeing his now fully hard cock. ethan hissed as the air hit his exposed tip already leaking precum. you looked up at him as you began stroking his shaft,
“guessing you’ve never had a blowjob.”
he nodded his head as he couldn’t get any words out. you saw his jaw clench as you worked his cock, sliding your finger over his slit he bucked his hips into your hand, chasing a relief. finally you wrapped your mouth around the tip of his cock, swirling your tongue around it. his steps faltered as he gripped the counter, groaning at the unfamiliar feeling. you took him deeper into your throat, looking up at him struggling to contain himself. pulling your mouth off it, you pumped it more as your saliva covered the length. he squirmed beneath your touch, moaning as you stroked his shaft tightly. again you went in with your mouth, this time taking him deeper. as his tip hit the back of your throat he bucked his hips forward, causing you to gag around his cock,
“shit, i-i’m sorry i didn’t mean t-,” he rambled.
“it’s fine,” you assured him as you licked up the side of his cock, “i like it.”
as you palmed him in your hand you moved your mouth to his balls. as you sucked on one of them, ethan hit the counter with his palm, overcome with pleasure.
“is everything okay in there,” you heard someone call out from the hallway.
“yea, just uh dropped my shampoo,” he croaked.
“y-you’re gonna kill me,” he whispered, unable to raise his voice any higher due to his current state.
after you moved to the other, you resumed sucking his dick, lowering your mouth down until your nose tickled his pelvis then back up again. each time you lowered back down he came closer and closer to cumming, at this point basically whimpering under your touch, jaw clenched and eyes screwed shut.
“fuck,” he said breathlessly as his tip hit the back of your throat again.
and the next time you came down on his cock, he came hard. you felt his legs shaking as he emptied his load in your throat, jaw clenched, eyes screwed shut, and gripping the counter for dear life. you swallowed his load, milking him through his orgasm until you felt him trembling, overstimulated with his release.
you then stood up in front of him with the towel, hanging it to him you said, “you might wanna put this back on.”
quickly he grabbed your face, kissing you roughly, grabbing the curves of your ass as you moaned. it left you breathless.
“you uh- had something right there,” he joked as he wrapped his towel around his waist again.
“mm hmm, yea,” you played into it as you slipped out of the bathroom carefully, having to remain unseen.

whiskey sour;

note: my heart said angst but my brain said fluff, and i cant write without a brain so… (also on ao3)
summary: the man at the bar never talks. not to women hitting on him, not to the men squaring him up for fights.
You see him every weekend for 3 months straight, sitting at the same place, wearing some rotation of dark hoodies, and sporting some manly drink that seem like they taste as angry as he looks. You notice the only one he talks to is the bartender. And now you, apparently.
You trudged into the bar with a sour face and a sour mood and sat next to him, which you wouldn’t do if there was legitimately any other seat. “I’ll have whatever he’s having.” You pointed at his drink after getting the barkeep’s attention.
It surprised you when the drink came less than a third of the glass it came in. Did the bartender think you’re a pussy and gave you less? Whatever.
So you downed it in one go.
Horrible idea. It burned from your tongue down to your esophagus, and you coughed your lungs out for a solid minute while tears streamed down your face before the fire dissipates.
“You’re supposed to sip.” You heard someone mutter after your body stopped being dramatic over the drink.
Who the fuc—
“You savour it.” He chided. Oh, it’s the quiet man. So the reason no one talked to him is because he’s some kind of obnoxious fuck?
“No ‘you allright’ or ‘you okay’? Straight to the lecture?” You bit back. Fuck, you feel like purposefully bumping into him as you slid off your seat, but he’s built like a tank and you’re not going to test whether you’re wet noodle or wet tissue against him right now. You trudged out of the bar you entered not fifteen minutes ago, and out of anger you promise to never go back.
And by never you mean like two years. You’ve changed jobs, moved closer to work, and now you literally live above said bar you never wanna go back to.
Fuck.
A few weeks went by before seeing him again. Still sitting in the same place, still wearing dark hoodies, still staring daggers at everyone. You changed your mind on drinking that day, not when he’s around.
But the next day you weren’t so lucky. Thinking he wouldn’t be there—since it was a weekday—you plopped right in front of the barkeep and asked him about rumours and gossips of the week.
“Well, that hot widow I kinda fancy got a date yesterday, seemed like it went well.”
You rolled your eyes, “If only you asked her out first.”
He laughed as he slides you a glass of water. “Did that at a previous place, people think they get free drinks when they date a bartender.”
“Wait, you don’t?”
“Nah. I mean, I’ll give them some but lots take it too far and think they can order for a group.”
You scrunched you nose, “I think you just dated shit people, Sam.”
He scoffed, “Shut the fuck up.”
His attention was away from your a second and you decided to take a glance at who ordered. It’s him. You didn’t even notice when he came, to think someone his size would make a lot of noise when they walk. But you were too caught up in conversation, you guess.
When he got back he grabbed two glasses and filled it with a big ball of ice and poured very little of what you think was bourbon into the glasses. You had learnt a little here and there, since you do live above and spend some time with Sam on slow days. To your surprise he handed one to you.
You immediately looked towards the man’s direction and he waved his glass at you.
Oh no.
Taking a deep breath, you grab the glass and place yourself next to him.
“Allright?”
You sighed, “Yeah, don’t worry, I remember this is a sippy drink and not a gulpy drink.”
“Good.”
“Thanks, by the way.” You raised your glass and started sipping. You can’t hide your wince. This would definitely be a good if you were depressed or sad or trying to forget a horrible incident or getting over a breakup, but things are way too nice in your life for you to enjoy it properly. “Would you be offended if I asked the barkeep to make this into a whiskey sour?”
He answered by waving Sam down.
As your drinks slowly diminish, you learn exactly two things about him. His name is Simon and he likes dogs. The man dodged so many questions like Neo and those fucking bullets, and if Sam didn’t somehow made the previously godawful whiskey taste so goddamn tasty you would’ve probably gone upstairs and to bed by now.
But Simon is a good listener, so whenever you feel like having a drink, you sit next to him. It’s definitely a biased opinion, but you think it’s highly unfair that he is as funny as he is attractive. He’s cracking jokes as if his life depended on it, like an ugly kid that had to make his way through school being funny to avoid getting bullied. You also learnt one new thing about him, he has a friend called Soap. Of course you didn’t ask about him, because you know he doesn’t divulge any information, but it’s really funny that the other man calls him quite often lately and then hearing them bantering back and forth for a couple minutes before you can hear the scot on the other end of the phone yell something so scottish you couldn’t understand a word. For a little while you fall into this fun routine, until he stopped coming one day. You think nothing of it at first, like he is a grown man and he could have those seasonal jobs, but weeks turned to months and you miss your drinking buddy.
~
It was a rainy afternoon, and you opted to wait at the office an extra two hours for the rain to lighten up at least a little. Regret settled deep in your bones for rejecting so many ride home offers, as you wrung what you could of your wet clothes. Some fucker in a pickup truck thought it would be funny to drive at sixty by some puddles and splash everyone at the sidewalk. Everyone huddled under the same awning to try and clean themselves up and share their plight. After feeling dry enough, you started to head back when you heard your name being called by a familiar voice, and then a hand on your shoulder.
“You look like a wet rat.”
Fighting words. Those are fighting words. You did the one thing you know is appropriate for such a greeting.
You hugged him. Wet clothes and all.
He was tense for the duration of the hug, and ended it quickly with pats to your upper back. A wide smirk graced your face as you looked up at him, and you can immediately tell—albeit covered by a face mask—that he’s unhappy of the outcome.
“Hi.” You greeted, the smirk getting wider at his apparent annoyance.
“There’s a kebab place nearby. Let’s go.”
It was a seven minute walk, and you were glad the place he led you to was rather dirty, cramped, and two girls were doing their homework on a table at the back. The food will definitely be good. You looked around for a place to sit after telling him what you wanted. Scouting for a table with no food left, you stood near a family of four and waited for them to leave.
Simon came back with the food you ordered and some drinks you definitely didn’t tell him to get. But it was apparently some foreign soda that you’ve never seen, and you were happy to get to try it. Halfway through your meal someone clapped his shoulders and you swear he was about to stand up and do something until he saw the other man’s face.
The man with a mohawk started, “Who’s this, LT?”
Simon skipped too many beats to answer, and looking at his face, you swear he was legitimately about to throw down, so you did what you think would be natural at a time like this.
“Oh, uhh… I don’t know him, I just sat here because the place was full.”
He then introduces himself. “Hi, I’m Johnny. This here is my mate, Simon.”
“Piss off, Johnny.”
Johnny laughed, and when he went to the cashier you were afraid he would join you, but he said goodbye as soon as he got his order.
Both of you ate in silence for a bit. “So you don’t know me, huh?” He finally cracked, smiling at you.
Oh thank god, you thought he was mad, “Sorry, you looked really uncomfortable.”
“That bad?”
You slowly nodded, “Honestly, yeah. Scared you were gonna beat him up on the spot.”
“Nah.” He sipped on his soda, contemplating something. “Do that at work though, not here.”
You blinked. “You’re gonna beat him up.. At work?”
He raised his eyebrows as a confirmation, and you can see he’s not gonna elaborate.
Leaving the place, he walked you back to your place, under the guise of needing a drink after having such a ‘rough night’.
“Why?” You teased him as you two walked in, “Is it rough because now your friend thinks you like people that looks like a wet rat?”
“Nah. He already knows I do.”
“What?”
He doesn’t say anything else, but he did tell Sam to make two whiskey sours.

You and Aaron had been best friends, ever since you both were teenagers.
You both stayed with each other through the awkward growing up phase. You two used to be inseparable, and stayed like that until he started to film for nowhere boy, where he was playing John Lennon.
“Wait, so you’re telling me that you’re literally going to play John Lennon?” You asked, with a smile on your face as you talked to your friend.
He smiled back and nodded. You both continued to walk and talk, you talked about what you auditioned for and he talked about how he was excited to play in the movie.
You both were busy filming, you for a show and him for a movie. So you both had been a little distant, distracted.
You sighed when you flopped into the bed, tired and yawning. You were falling asleep, eyes shut and everything, when your phone goes off.
You groan and pick up the phone.
“Hello?”
He says your name, and you automatically knew it was Aaron.
“Aaron! Hi! Oh my god, I haven’t heard from you in a while. How are you? How’s the film?” You rubbed your eyes.
“Hi. Sorry if I woke you up or somethin’. Im alright. The filmings almost wrapped up. How about your show?”
“That’s good. Today was the last day, so hopefully it goes good.”
“Thats nice.”
There was an awkward silence for a while.
“ I was wondering if you’d wanna hang out this weekend. We haven’t talked and you know-“ his British accent cut through the silence thankfully.
“Yeah! I’d love to.” You said, more excited than you should’ve been.
“Great. I’ll text you everything tomorrow, thank you. Goodnight, y/n.”
“Goodnight, Aaron.”
And you thought things would be great at lunch, but they got worse.
He told you about his new girlfriend, Sam. And you learned that she was older, way older than him. He had just turned an adult, so what the hell?
Of course, you’d been his best friend forever, and you’ve seen his girlfriends come and go, but this one was different, she was old, way too old for him, and the power imbalance was weird to you. The he mentioned how she was pregnant.
You tried to be supportive, but you couldn’t. When you got home, you cried into your pillow and blocked Aaron’s number.
It’s been two years now, and you had just got cast for Anna Karenina. You were playing the main character, and that’s when you found out Aaron was also on the movie, playing none other than your love interest.
The first day on set, you both were shocked to see each other. You glanced at him and he did the same, and quickly darted his eyes away.
Did he hate you? Did he feel bad?
He should, you thought bitterly. You looked over your lines, and after you were ready made your way to where it would be shot.
It was awkward for you and Aaron, both of you just continued to work professionally, however, on set.
It wasn’t until the dance scene that you realized how utterly in love you still were with him. It was a few days of filming now.
He kissed your hand, and you were gone. In terms of the movie and in reality.
You did as you practiced, but you’d practiced with someone else, and so has he. It was odd to be doing it with him.
You stared into his eyes. That’s when you realized in character and out of character, you were in love with him.
So you used that to make the scene better, he stared into your eyes the same way, but you brushed it off as acting.
The spotlight was on the both of you, and you couldn’t see anything but him.
Your palms were sweating, but so were his, you realized.
Once that scene was over, you both stared at each other for a moment in silence.
“Let’s take a break!” They said, and everyone went where they usually did.
It had been a long day. You both stayed staring for a good few seconds before you both opened your mouth.
“I’m sorry-“ you both apologized at the same time. You both smiled and laughed at that.
“I shouldn’t have blocked you.”
“And I shouldn’t have sprung everything on you at once.”
You both stayed silent for a moment again before you asked.
“How’s you and Sam..?”
His eyebrows furrowed. “Oh. Yeah. We’re good- fine.”
“And your baby..?”
He smiled at the mention “She’s good.”
“A girl, huh? What’s her name?”
He stared into your eyes again, with that same look as he did in the dance scene.
“Y/n.”
——————————————————————
And that’s how you were here now, months filming now. It was the scene were you told Vronsky, or Aaron, that your character was pregnant.
You were in a field, holding a parasol as you looked into the distance.
“Anna.” He said behind you.
You turned back, with a small smile present on your face, putting the parasol down.
“Alexei. What is it?”
“I couldn’t bear not to see you before the race.”
You smiled and practically ran into his arms, his hands rubbed your shoulders.
“What were you thinking about?”
His hand grabbed your jaw softly when you didn’t answer.
“Tell me.”
You stared into each others eyes. You passed for a moment before speaking.
“I’m pregnant.”
You stayed silent for a moment and waited for a reaction.
His face lit up, hand caressing your cheek.
“Oh, my love. Love was never a game to us. Here’s an end to living in corners. Existing days to days on lies. Now we can be together.” He laughed quietly.
For a second, you wished it was real.
“How can we, Alexei?”
“Tell him everything.”
“Do you think my husband will make you a present of me?”
“Leave him.”
“Leave him and be your mistress?”
“Yes. Run away.”
“I would never see my son again. The laws are made by husbands and fathers.”
He paused for a moment. Was that the only reason he was still with Sam?
“What then? I’ll never forgive myself for your unhappiness.”
“Unhappiness? I’m like a starving begged who’s been given food. I am happy. I love you. I could never be unhappy with you.” The last part slipped out on accident, it was not part of your lines.
His eyebrows raised, and you paused for a moment, looking at him for a reaction.
He leaned in, and you did as well. The kiss seemed genuine, not like the forced ones you’ve had while filming this movie. This felt real, full of actual passion and love.
The kiss went on for longer than expected, the people on set were eating every second of it up.
“Cut! Now that is how you act! Way to go, guys. Really great.”
Your cheeks burned up as you realized what had happened, you looked at Aaron and he smiled softly.
You both talked for a while, you both trying to ignore what happened earlier.
“Did you mean what you said earlier..?” He asked suddenly, right before you were about to enter your car to leave.
Your eyes widened, and you paused, and turned to look at him as he walked closer to you.
“Aaron-“
“I need to know.”
Y-yeah. I meant it. I didn’t mean to say it. And I know that you have-“
His lips crashed against yours while you tried to explain, it was passionate, and just like the one from the confession.
“I love you. I always have, y/n.” He mumbled quietly, hand on your jaw.

Modern Aemond Targaryen x Reader
Part 3
Previous Part | Next Part
Summary: the deal is struck between you and Aemond

“And he didn’t tell you what he wanted?” Aly looks over at you while adding a slice of turkey to the sandwich she’s making? You shake your head. It had been a few days since everything went down, yet you were still trying to wrap your head around it all. The fact that Aemond would consider helping you at all—foreboding debt aside—just didn’t make sense to you.
“Why does he have to be so cryptic and spooky,” Aly asks, adding a generous amount of mayo to the sandwich.
“Beats me,” you reply. A shout startles you both out of your conversation. You and Aly turn your heads to the living room area. Benji Blackwood and his two friends Kermit and Oscar Tully—“the muppets” as Aly likes to call them—are sprawled across Aly’s couch, cursing at a video game they’re thoroughly engrossed in.
“Oi! You tryin’ to wake your dad up?” Aly calls to them. Currently, Aly’s brother Sam was down the hall, trying to sleep off a migraine. The boys cringe slightly.
“Sorry,” one of the Tully boys stage whispers back to Aly. She sighs. “Anyways, lunch is ready.” In a flash, the boys were on their feet, making their way to the kitchen. Aly pushes the sandwich with the mayo mountain towards Benji.
“Would you like some sandwich with your mayo?” She teases. Benji scowls back, but his expression quickly morphs into a grin. The boys make their way back to the couch. Aly turns to you.
“Listen, if he tries to pull anything with you, just say the word and I’ll kick his ass. Then I’ll call Cregan and he’ll also kick his ass.” You laugh in response. “What’s his deal with them anyways? Are they friends?”
“Acquaintances is more like it. They get along well enough, but Creg’s friendship with Jace sorta puts him on thin ice.”
“…Yeah, I still don’t get it.”
“Look, rich people friendships are weird, okay?” Aly explains. “Sometimes it’s better if you don’t ask questions and just go with it. I find the truth usually comes out on its own time.” She starts resealing containers and putting them in the fridge. You follow suit, deciding to take her advice. You two clean in silence for a couple minutes, until your phone buzzes. You look at the name on the screen, suddenly feeling very nervous.
Tumblr media
You show the conversation to Aly. Her eyebrows raise, and she notes the tense expression on your face. “You know you don’t have to do this right? I’m sure I could find some time to give you lessons.”
You think about it for a moment. Aly would certainly be a nicer teacher than Aemond. But her Raven is much different than your Meraxes. Plus, you’d be lying if you said you weren’t looking for an excuse to learn more about the enigmatic, handsome Targaryen.
“I don’t want to cut into your time with your family. I know how important it is to you,” you tell her. “Besides, we’re all adults. I can handle a little tough love.”
“Alright then. Lemme know if you change your mind,” Aly relents, leaving the kitchen. You turn back to your phone to text Aemond.
Tumblr media
Saturday morning comes far too soon, and you find yourself heading back to Aemond and Aegon’s shop in the passenger seat of Aly’s truck. One of the doors is rolle up, and you can see Aemond working on a bike. He lifts his head when he hears the engine.
“Well,” you breathe, “here goes nothing.”
“Remember, I’m only a text away,” Aly reassures you. You grin then exit out the passenger side door. Before you turn away, you see Aly glare at Aemond, pointing at her eyes then at him before making a u-turn and driving off. You take a deep breath, then walk over to Aemond. By now, he’s standing and wiping his hands with a cloth. He’s wearing the same outfit as when you two first met, only this time the coveralls are unzipped with the sleeves tied around his waist. The white singlet he’s wearing does nothing to hide the definition of his chest or arms. A few streaks of grime decorate his body, along with a few tattoos. He’s not overtly bulky, but he’s definitely in shape. His biceps flex slightly as he cleans his hands; you try not to bite your lip.
You both stand in awkward silence, waiting for someone to break it. You decide to bite the bullet yourself.
“Where’s Aegon,” you ask, peering into the garage, but there’s no sign of Aemond’s brother.
“He doesn’t typically come in on weekends,” Aemond answers. “Prefers to sleep in.”
“Oh.” You’d hoped he’d be here; his easygoing nature could’ve served as a good mediator.
“So I take it you’re interested?” It takes a moment for you to realize he meant the training.
“Oh I’m yeah. But I want to know what exactly you’re hoping to get out of this,” you reply quickly. Get your shit together you mentally chastise yourself. He’s not worth it.
“Hmm, yes. I’ve been going back and forth on what I want from you,” he starts, setting the rag on a nearby workbench. He turns his back on you.
“And you’ve decided on…” you prompt. He drums his fingers on the table, silent. Then…
“The Conqueror’s Gala. I need someone to go with me,” he states. That’s it? He needs a date to some fancy event? You thought you’d have to do something like clean his house or shine his bike for a month. Not this.
“If you want me to pretend to be your girlfriend, Targaryen-“
“No. Gods no. Nothing like that.” Aemond hastily replies. “My mother is always on my as about bringing a date. Normally, I’d just go with Helaena, but this year she’s decided to side with mum. They want me to prove that I’m capable of spending time with people I’m not directly related to.” His mouth presses into a thin line, and he averts his gaze. He starts drumming his fingers again. It looks like that’s something he does when he’s agitated. You let the silence simmer, silently enjoying the way his jaw clenched.
“Hmmm. I suppose I could spare one evening to get all dressed up and rub elbows with the Westerosi elite,” you sigh in pretend annoyance. He gives you a disgruntled look. “Trust me. It’s not the fun time you think,” he says sharply. Of course a cryptic like him wouldn’t enjoy social events. You try not to laugh at the thought.
“Well, fun or not, I’ll take it,” you tell him. His shoulders relax a little.
“Good,” he says stiffly. “Shall we?” he gestures his hand towards the bike. You realize it’s his own, the bronze coloring of the Vaghar catching the late morning light. You make your way over and take your seat. The bike has the same controls as your Meraxes, but his has extra side mirrors affixed.
Aemond leans over you, one hand on the handlebar and the other on the seat behind you. It takes all your willpower not to gawk at his arm.
“Alright,” Aemond says softly. “Now I want you to start the engine.”
You turn and look at him, incredulous. “You think I don’t know how to start a bike?”
Aemond levels a flare at you. “I’m just being thorough.” You scoff and roll your eyes, but you do as he says.
“Good,” he muses. He’s inches from your ear. The soft timbre of his voice sends a shudder through you. “Now what?” You choke out. You hate the effect he has on you.
“I want you to shift to first gear,” he instructs. All you can do is obey blindly.
“Good. Good,” he praises. He has you go through all the gears and how to break, giving a little praise each time you do something correct. It’s all painfully easy, and you should be insulted he’s making you prove such basic knowledge. Instead, you silently relish the rush of warmth you get with each praise. Hell, you’re almost tempted to get something wrong on purpose just to see how he’ll react? Would he gently explain the correction, or would he go back to being rude and insult you?
“Well then,” Aemond says, pushing off his bike. You mourn the loss of his warmth on your shoulder. “It seems you really do know the basics.” He drawls the last part. Oh yeah, that’s what it’s like when he insults you. You get off the bike, and he starts to wheel it into the garage. “But the Dragon Rally isn’t for the feint of heart. You’ll need to be able to ride long distances in potentially rough weather. You need to be adaptable, ready to make a decision at a moment’s notice. And that’s not even including the Rally itself.”
“What happens at the Rally?” you ask.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Aemond replies, turning his back on you. You scoff. “Yes. I would. That’s why I asked”
He smirks. “All you need to know is that you need to build up your endurance. I’d like to take you on a ride through the Kingswood when you’re next available. Once you’re comfortable, we’ll take more challenging treks. Sound good?”
You nod your head. At least you won’t have to have weird conversations with him when riding.
“Good. Check your schedule, and give me your next available date,” he says before pulling the garage door closed in your face.
You stand there in stunned silence. What the fuck is up with this guy?
You text Aly, and a few minutes later her truck pulls up to the sidewalk.
“Well that was quick,” she observes as you put on your seatbelt.
“You’re telling me,” you reply, looking back at the garage as Aly pulls away.
You were confused. You were intrigued. Something told you this was only the tip of the iceberg that was Aemond Targaryen.

Perfection
Dean Winchester x Black! Fem! Reader!
Angst and then fluff, wedding, Dean and reader cry a lot
Dean had seen a lot. In his 34 years of living he had seen a lot. He’d seen funerals, he’d seen murders, crimes of passion, weddings. Dean was an observer. Like a funny background character in a  movie. He witnessed things, did his job and disappeared. He was okay with that, at least he had to be. At some point, maybe when he was 15,  he realized he had to be okay with it. He would never get a long term girlfriend, a nice house with AC and heating, let alone a wedding. Dean had seen a lot for others. Never anything so nice for himself. Not until today at least.
She came into his life, and tore up everything. She tore up his beliefs that he was okay with it. She made him want nothing more than the life he accepted he’d never get. At first it made him angry. It was like God, and this is totally something he’d do, was taunting him. With a beautiful woman who held him through stormy nights and long days. Who kissed his tears away when he melted down. Who baked him pies, and held his hands with no shame.
She wasn’t a hunter. She didn’t have any of that darkness or murderous rage he or Sam had. She was untouched by the true evils of this world. When she found out about it, it didn’t corrupt or change her the way it had many others. She didn’t fall under depression knowing there were greater evils out there. She didn’t run, or scream, or call him a monster. She just held him, and listened to all his sins and confessions. She was too perfect for him. No, he couldn’t have this. At least it’s what he thought.
She smashed through that belief with pure love, and showed him that no matter what he thought about himself he deserved love. He deserved her. Still he had his days where he couldn’t believe it. Today was one of them.
The piano played, as the doors opened at the end of the aisle. He saw her. Her father linked her arm, holding the trembling woman. The moment those doors opened, Dean almost evaporated. His knees buckled, and he cleared his throat. He felt the tears prick his eyes and took a hesitant breath. There was no one else in the church with them. There was a broad smile on her painted lips, the lips that Dean kissed everyday. Well everyday except for the past two weeks they hadn’t seen each other. Her ears dangled with a pair of the most gorgeous earrings he’d ever seen. Her dark eyes were filled with light, and her eyelashes looked a bit longer than usual. Her smile was impossibly bright, as the piano played a harmonious tune. She looked perfect. Actually, she was perfect. Just because Dean said so. He was 100% right too.
God,  what had he done to deserve this? With each step she took, Dean’s eyes began leaking.  The hot tears slipped down his face, and she broke out into a nervous laugh when she stepped up to the altar. Sam patted him comfortingly with a deep chuckle. She laughed as Dean broke out into a nervous grin and wiped his eyes.
How could he not cry? This woman showed him love. She showed him that if anyone deserved love it was him. She showed him that he was more than a weapon of destruction, but a person. She showed him that she didn’t have to fight to hide his feelings from her. He didn’t have to panic and hide his feelings, and lash out. She taught him it was all okay. Love, care, affection. All of it, she gave it to him. With no cause, no ulterior motive, not wanting anything from him. Nothing but love. Dean felt selfish for wanting her. He felt selfish but wanted her love. She gave it to him without a fight. She gave him so much love it nearly overwhelmed him. He felt like he was drowning in it at times, and at first he didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know how to accept that love. Eventually though, he did learn. He learned to float through it, the way he deserved. The way she taught him to just accept what she’s giving him. And now he was crying his eyes out in front of her. He couldn’t even hide his feelings from her if he tried now.
Her hands was in his, Dean’s hands were in hers. Behind them, the pastor chattered about some random bullshit. Dean wasn’t really too sure. Her eyes stared deeply into Dean’s, and he could feel himself drowning in her love once more. Dean hoped she was doing the same. He wanted to just grab her and kiss her plump lips. He was only pulled out of his trance by the big question.
“…do you take this man to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
“I do.” And Dean exploded. Tears bursted from his eyes, and he had to let go of her for a moment. He turned away, whipping his eyes as he tried to quiet his whimpers. Sam chuckled, and patted him on his back.
“You okay bud?” Sam asked and Dean mustered a nod. No, he wasn’t okay. He was so happy, it was causing him a violent reaction. She was promising to be with him forever, she was promising to love him no matter what. He was exploding with joy, to the point where his head started to hurt.
After a few seconds he calmed down. He would’ve been embarrassed if she wasn’t staring at the ceiling trying to keep her eyes from running. There she was, panting and fanning her face. Her bouquet was shoved into Charlie’s hands, as she fanned her face. Her lip trembled, as her sister dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief.
“Dean Winchester, do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
“I do.” Dean whispered, trying to slow his heart beat. The moment he said it, her neck jerked backwards and she stared at the ceiling trying to repress more tears. He chuckled at the deep breaths escaping her, her chest heaving.
“The rings.” Sam stepped forward with the two rings, one with a D for her and one with her initial for him. The silver bands were courtesy of her father, much like this entire wedding. Then again, Dean was happy to marry her in a dark alleyway with a hobo as the officiant. But this was perfect too.
Slowly, he slipped the ring onto her finger. This was real. She was real. In a few more seconds, they’d be announced as Mr. and Mrs. Dean Winchester. Dean was certain he’d really lose it then. Her tender hands, and her nails felt comforting on his calloused skin. She slid the ring onto him and bit her lip, possibly in an attempt to fight back tears.
“You may now kiss the bride.”
Dean had seen a lot in his life. He had seen beauty, and ugliness, life and death, light and darkness. Now he had seen it once more. Now he had seen true perfection. This time not as an observer, but for himself.

Note: I am a Sam supporter/simp and have not been able to write anything else but him, please send help. Also, there was a post I saw that inspired this and I have no idea where it is now, I’ve been searching for an hour, I’m so sad.
Sam x Reader
His Insecurity
The evening breeze brought a sense of calmness with it as the farmer began to walk back from the museum.
The sun had just recently set, and you had made it just in time to donate all the new gems you found within your collection of geodes. Now, all that was left to do was to go back to the farm, check on the animals, cook dinner, and relax.
Although it was just the beginning of Fall, The Valley was already starting to cool down. The gentle wind sent chills down your spine, silently thanking Emily for giving you a spare jacket the day before.
As you were heading back, you noticed Sam leaning against the stone bridge, looking out at the trees.
It was unlike him to be out at this hour except on Fridays, when you’d see him with Sebastian and Abigail at the saloon. But it was 7:30PM, and there were no signs of him leaving anytime soon.
“Hey,” You say.
You notice him jump a little at your call, not expecting you to be roaming about at this time.
“Hey Farmer,” he greeted.
His eyes were slightly red, his hair messed up by the wind, and his expression seemed a more somber than usual.
“Are you doing okay?” You ask softly, while walking up next to him.
He hesitates before slowly shaking his head.
“Not really, no,” he responds. “I was gonna go to Sebastian’s, but it’s probably too late now.”
“He stays up for a while,” you comment while looking out at the trees. “I’m sure it’s not that late.”
Sam laughs softly.
“Yeah, you’re right. I think I just don’t wanna bother him right now.”
“Do you want me to leave you alone right now?”
He shrugs wiping his eyes and before leaning against the wall of the bridge in front of him.
“Actually, I think I’d like the company right now… if you don’t mind.”
You nods your head and put your backpack down, leaning over to the wall and looking over at him.
“What’s on your mind Sam? I’m all ears.”
“It’s just…” He sighs before continuing. “My dad’s been gone for a while now. Is it bad that I’m losing hope..?”
You frown, realizing you’ve never met his dad before.
“Back on the beach, I told you children should have hope… but I think you should too,” you say softly. “But I understand. It’s hard to have it sometimes.”
“He always comes and goes,” Sam continues while starting to grab a pebble. “It’s not his fault, I know it’s not. But it’s kinda hard, on Vincent. And mom too. It’s better to try to distract them, make them happy. That’s what I would want.”
You watch as he throws the pebble down the river, watching it bounce on the water twice before sinking.
“You know,” Sam says. “My mom thinks I get mad at dad. For leaving.”
“Why do you think she believes that?” You ask.
“I don’t know,” he answers honestly. “Sometimes she hints at it. Like how she’d say he always cared about me when we’re alone. Or bring up random memories to make sure me and Vincent don’t forget him.”
“And… are you mad at him?”
“I’m not really that mad,” he replies. “Not anymore, anyways.”
Sam takes a shaky breath, closing his eyes and looking away from you.
“I… I just want him back.”
You didn’t really know how to respond.
He was always so happy go lucky, so positive and upbeat. It was hard seeing him like this, on the brink of breaking down. Yet he was still trying to compose himself, for you.
You pulled him into an embrace and wrapped your arms around him, hearing a soft mix of a gasp and a sob from him. He hugged you back while looking up, still trying to keep his tears from staining your clothes. Still, his efforts were in vain when he felt a wave of tears beginning to rush down his face. You didn’t mind though. It brought you at ease, knowing he trusted you enough to let you see him like this.
You two stayed like that for awhile, hugging in silence as the starry night painted the sky.
“Thanks,” he said quietly. “It feels nice to talk to someone about this.”
“I’m here to listen to whatever you want to tell me,” you said reassuringly. “Whether it’s about skateboarding, playing guitar, working at Joja, or this. I’m here.”
“Thank you.”

Sweet Surprises
Gabriel x F!Reader
A/N: This is a prequel to Sweet Heart-to-Heart! I had this idea for how the two initially met and I wanted to write it out!
Original Imagine/Summary Thingy: Sam and Dean need help on a case and you find your own way to help them - even if that means going behind their backs.
Warnings: I tagged this as fem!reader because the Trickster calls the reader a lady once. Other than that it’s pretty gender neutral! Other than that, nope!
Word Count: 1.8k
Tumblr media
When you opened the door to Crawford Hall, you were surprised to find dim lights and, well…romantic music playing, if you could call it that. It was a specific genre of cheesy “sexy” music that made you cringe. The lyrics made you want to run right out of the building - intentions for coming here be damned. But you were determined to talk with the trickster, so you crept down the hall, following the sound of the music, hoping that it would lead you to the man you were looking for.
The music’s trail led you to the auditorium which was bathed in red light. The “sexy” music blared louder, grating against your ears. You didn’t even notice the bed, nor the two ladies on the bed, at first. But once you recovered from the initial shock and adjusted to the music, your face grew warm, noticing the beautiful women and their suggestive lingerie.
“Hello ladies?” You asked, thoroughly confused, offering an awkward wave their way.
They looked surprised, like they’d been taken off guard. They gave each other a confused look, having a silent conversation for a few seconds before shrugging to one another and turning back to you.
“Hello” the blonde said with a smile, “what brings you here tonight?”
“Well, I was looking for the janitor, but I seem to have walked in on something. I’ll just uh…go.”
But before you could even turn to leave, a voice rang from behind you, startling you out of your confusion.
“Well hello there, pretty lady. I’m afraid I was expecting someone else, my apologies,” You whipped around to look at whoever was speaking. He was wearing what looked to be a custodial uniform, sporting a curious look and quirk to his brow, “Who might you be?”
You shouldn’t have been thinking about it, but you couldn't help but notice his caramel hair that had little glints of gold shining along the strands when the light hit right. You shouldn’t have been paying attention to the warm color of his eyes, or the shape of his face. You shouldn’t have noticed the shape of his lips - shouldn’t have even looked at them period. But alas, here you were, taking everything in in the span of milliseconds. Maybe a few milliseconds too long even.
You gave him your name, “I’m a friend of the Winchesters. They called me to help with the case. I wanted to talk with you.”
To say he was intrigued would be an understatement. You said you were a friend of the Winchester’s which meant that you were likely a hunter like them. And if you spent any amount of time hunting with them, then he’d expect you to be just as trigger-happy as they were. But here you were, asking to talk. Just talk.
He gave you a skeptical look, popping a chocolate into his mouth as he leaned against the stage. “Now why would you want to do that?”
You sighed, resting your hands in your jacket pockets, praying this would go over easily, “Look, I know you’re the trickster. You’ve been around for every one of these weird accidents and all our evidence points to you. I just want to talk.”
He shrugged, giving you a slow round of applause, “Well, I guess there’s no use in hiding it now. You’ve hit a home run sugar. So, what exactly do you wanna talk about?”
You took a deep breath, fidgeting your hands in your pockets, “Listen, I don’t want to kill you if I don’t have to. My brothers, they’ll kill you without so much as a second thought; they’re very ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ kinda people. Personally, I’m not huge on that, so if I can convince you to leave town and lay low for a while so we don’t have to kill you, I’d rather take that option.” You insist.
He nodded, taking your answer in, “Real quick: Do the bros know you’re here?”
“No,” you respond, “And as much as I’d love to sit and chat, they’re gonna be here soon, if they’re not already on their way, so I suggest we make this quick.”
He nodded and turned to pace in front of you, thinking over his options.
“So why are you telling me all of this? You say you’re a friend of the Winchesters which means you probably hunt monsters and creatures like me as well. Why go behind their backs to give me an out? Why not kill me?”
“Like I said, I don’t like killing if I don’t have to. I don’t really like killing all that much to begin with, so if I can talk with whatever we're hunting, I usually take that option. Seeing as I can talk with you, reason with you, I’d rather do that than get unnecessary blood on my hands.”
He gave you a look, a scrutinizing one that tried to piece together how, or why a hunter - especially one associated with the Winchesters - would give him a chance like this. It baffled him.
“Hmm. That’s odd to hear from a hunter.”
You give him a dry, huffed laugh, “Yeah, well, I’m not your average hunter.”
“So I see,” he responds, summoning a red sucker as he came to stop his pacing right in front of you, “One question though: what happens if I skip town and just start killing again?”
“The brothers will hunt you down again. That’s why I was hoping to convince you to lay low for a while or stop killing altogether.”
“And if they do hunt me down again? If I don’t stop killing?” He countered.
You give him a shrug, “I can only keep them from killing you so many times. I’m trying to give you a chance to avoid death, but if you decide to throw that away then that’s on you.”
“Gotcha.” He answered with a pop of his sucker, “so, how long are we talkin’ for laying low?”
You couldn't stop your eyes from falling to his lips even if you’d tried, but they darted back up to his eyes near instantly, “A few months. Maybe a year or so.”
He smirked, “Alrighty Sugar, how about this: I leave and lay low for around a year. You won’t hear or see a thing from me for that year, and in return I ask for one thing.”
It was your turn to give him a skeptical look. You crossed your arms and quirked a brow, “And what’s that?”
He smiles at you with something mischievous glinting in his eyes, “All I ask…are your favorite candies.”
“My favorite candies?” You ask, shock, then confusion contorting your face, “Why would you wanna know that?”
He responded with what was likely the millionth mischievous smirk of the day, “You’ll see.”
You were still a little skeptical, but nonetheless listed your favorite three sweets for him, all the while wondering what in heaven’s name he would want with that information.
“Alrighty Sugar, I’ll keep those in mind and—
Your phone rang, playing the opening riff of “Thunderstruck”.
“Fuck, that’s Dean.” You scrambled to answer your phone, “Sorry, gimme a sec.”
The trickster watched as you talked with Dean. He couldn’t help but watch the way you paced as you listened to whatever Dean was saying over the phone, nor could he get the image of your eyes out of his head. There was something in your gaze that dug deeper than his surface. It was like they could look directly past all the walls he had put up over the last millennia and see what was really hiding behind all the smirks and jokes and teasing. And for some reason, instead of that scaring him like it should, it made him want to ask you how. How could you know that there was more to him just by looking at him? Did you even know that your eyes were looking that deep? Maybe he was reading too much into the soft eyes of a compassionate hunter, but maybe, just maybe he wasn’t.
“Alrighty, see you at Crawford Hall in twenty minutes.” Your voice jolted him back to reality. It really didn't help that on top of your soulful eyes and beautiful body you also had a voice that just…it sounded right to him. He could pick it out in a crowd of a thousand people easily.
“I take it that’s my cue to leave?” He asked, sounding a little hesitant.
“Yeah, I’d say so. I’ll cover for you once you go. Don’t worry.” You gave him a reassuring smile and a warm look.
He nodded, a genuine smile on his face this time, “Thank you for the warnin’ sugar. I’ll see you in about a year.”
And with that he, the girls, the bed, and the music were gone.
You sighed. There was a part of you, deep down, that was disappointed to see the trickster go. He’d been interesting, curious, even a little charming (not to mention that he was a handsome fellow). You were curious about him too. You wanted to get to know him more; ask him questions, ‘pick at his brain’ so to speak. But there was one silver lining at least: you knew that you’d get to see him again in a years’ time, and that put a smile on your face.
You waited for Sam and Dean to show up, stakes at the ready, but when they got to the auditorium, all they found was you and an empty stage.
“What the hell happened? Did you gank the guy? He’s supposed to be here.” Dean asked, frustration clear in his voice.
“I don’t know,” you lied, “He’s just gone. There was no sight of him when I got here. Maybe he caught wind of us and skipped town?”
“Maybe.” Dean grumbled. He sighed, pausing for a second, “Alright. Let’s do a sweep of the place to make sure he’s gone. Then we can head back to the motel.”
~~~
When you got back to the motel that night, you threw your keys and purse on your bed. When you did so, a crinkling, plastic noise caught your attention. Looking back to where you had thrown your keys and purse, you found a large bag of each of the candies you’d mentioned to the trickster arranged on your bed. There were even some other sweets that you hadn’t mentioned, all framing a thank you card. You smiled, laughing a little to yourself before sitting on the bed and opening the card. You were surprised at how neat the handwriting was:
“I’m glad I got to meet you today Sugar. I hope you like the candies. I threw in a couple of my favorites as well as a thank you for saving my hide. I hope I get to see you again in a year’s time. Until then stay sweet, and keep asking questions before you shoot!
Your new friend,
The Trickster”
You smiled, folding the card and placing it in your bag before opening a bag of Mini M&Ms that he’d left. You shoveled a handful into your mouth as you thought of the trickster, making a silent promise to see him again next year.
If it's ok, I'd like to request a Loki x female reader where reader is a writer (fic writer is fine) who may try to push herself too hard to get caught up on what she's working on, but she really loves doing it! And one day she got a not very nice comment, and she gets a little discouraged and be notices, and tries to make her feel better?? If any of this isn't ok it's tooooootally fine!! Thank you for reading!! And again your amazing!! 💚
🍰🐍🍰
@michelleleewise IT'S DONE! FINALLY! WORDS: 1,423
Also I did not beta read even for myself so...
I have kinda been stressing over this ironically bc I REALLY loved the idea but got brain clog...so
Enjoy!!!!!!!
“Everyone! I’d like you to meet Y/N. She’ll be our Social Media Manager for the team,” Tony announces. “She’ll be responsible for any posts by the Avengers' name as well as PSA campaigns and personal posts.” The team all nods and welcomes you to the team.
“Hopefully there won’t be any more incidents like last week, right Tony?” Nat teases. Tony shoots her a look and clears his throat.
“Anyways!” He says loudly. “Please make sure to log out of all Avengers team accounts from your personal devices.”
“You’re the only one who’s-”
“Barnes, one more time and-”
“What? You’ll shoot my parents?”
“Okay! We get it!” Steve yells, standing up.
“This is going to be interesting,” You chuckle.
Over the next few weeks, you find yourself settling in quite nicely. The team is more than welcoming and has no trouble having you make their posts. Except for Tony, of course. Almost everyone has made a post by now, save for the ever illusive god of mischief. The team always asks what you post about on your personal accounts, but you never say, excusing that you don’t want to mix your personal life with business.
There is one thing the team, and really no one else you know in real life, has knowledge of. Tumblr. You have a Tumblr blog. And not just any blog, an Avengers fanfiction blog. And even more specifically, fanfiction about none other than Loki himself. You guarded your phone with your life for this reason. Sam was too nosey, Nat would know just looking at your phone, and Steve would probably be so innocent that he would show Tony to find out what it was. So you never let anyone touch your phone.
Looking back, you probably should have used two different phones, one for work and one for Tumblr. But then again, this wouldn’t have happened if not for that.
The day finally comes when Loki inquires about making a post himself. At first, you think he’s joking, it is April Fools’ after all, but he’s serious. The odd little holiday was seemingly perfect for him. You immediately unlock your phone, all too excited to help him. Unfortunately, you forgot the last app you used was Tumblr and you had not closed out of the app. Thankfully, he doesn’t seem to notice. That night, unbeknownst to you, Loki does a little web surfing himself.
A few days pass and you have forgotten completely about the incident. This particular afternoon, you’re in the library, doing some research for a post only to find yourself not alone.
“Hello, Lady Y/N,” Loki greets, a pleasant smile on his face.
“I’ve told you to leave off this ‘lady’ business,” You reply, chuckling softly. You take a moment to really look around, noticing this room is the most like Loki of all the rooms in the tower. He even seems to have a few personal knick-knacks moved in. “You like to read don’t you?” You say, taking a seat on one of the armchairs.
“How could you tell?” Loki asks with mock surprise, his signature smirk spreading on his lips before he returns to his book. The two of you sit in silence for a while, you eventually finding what you need and making the post. You mindlessly start scrolling and eventually make your way to Tumblr. “What’s this?” Loki asks, suddenly appearing behind you.
“Loki!” You scream, clasping your phone to your chest and falling out of the chair in the process.
“Oh don’t worry, love. I’ve already been doing my research. I noticed it the other day.” Your face reddens impossibly, your heart pounding in your ears. You open your mouth to say something but your throat tightens, tears welling up in your eyes. You draw your knees up, hoping this is all just a bad dream. “Don’t cry please,” Loki says, cupping your cheek in his hand and sitting down beside you. “I was actually quite impressed. There are quite a few good writers on there. Including yourself. I never thought anyone would actually be a fan of mine,” He admits quietly.
“You’re not mad?” You ask, tears streaming down your cheeks unbidden. “You could have me fired! It’s terribly personal! Why wouldn’t you be angry?”
“Because I happen to be terribly honored and quite flattered. I know there will always be people who don’t like me. Hate me. But I never thought people would like me. Anyone at all besides my mother,” He finishes in a whisper.
"Well, I like you," You say quietly. "If it makes any difference." Loki smiles and chuckles lowly.
"It certainly does, little one. And I truly don't mind what you write. In fact, if you ever have a question while you're creating one of your stories, I'd be happy to help," He offers. You look up at him with wide eyes.
"You really would do that?" You ask. He nods in reply and you note a slight blush on his cheeks. Neither of you acknowledges the obvious crush you have on each other, both of you being too afraid of heartbreak.
As the weeks go by, Loki is surprisingly helpful as you write your next series. Unbeknownst to you, Loki made a Tumblr account of his own and followed you. He’s read all your stories and is happy to see the positive feedback you always get. But recently, things have changed a little. You’ve been extra busy handling some damage control and haven’t had time to update. Loki sees the hateful comments start to roll in. None from any of your regular followers of course, but rather from those random people who apparently don’t have anything better to do.
Where’s the updates?
Come on! Write the next part already!
You promised the next chapter last week!
You can’t possibly be that busy!
With every comment, Loki wants more and more to track those idiots down. But you don’t need more unfavorable press to deal with. So he works out at the gym more. No one asks why all the punching bags are broken even though the Captain is out of the country on a mission.
He notices one night that you are missing from the dinner table. “Stark, where’s the girl?”
“The girl? Oh, you mean Y/N? She’s still working.” Loki nods sharply, concerned for you. None of the other Avengers know how close the two of you have become and he doesn’t want to seem too interested lest it causes you more trouble.
“I see,” He says. Once the meal is finished, he slips away as quickly as possible to check up on you. “Y/N?” He calls out, entering the floor you work on. Everyone else has left and the floor is dark, save for one small cubical in the corner. He walks up to your desk and finds you face down with your arms over your head. Quiet sobs escape your lips and he frowns. “What’s wrong, Y/N?” He asks, kneeling next to you and putting his hand on your shoulder.
“It’s just-” You start. “They want me to finish the story but I’m stuck and too tired to force myself to finish it!” Loki sighs softly, rubbing your back.
“You don’t need to finish it because they told you to. You should be able to-”
“You’re kneeling,” You comment, inturrupitng him. Loki gives you a look and clears his throat.
“That’s not the point! The point-” He yells, taking a deep breath to calm himself. “The point is that you have fun. This is supposed to be a recreational activity, yes?” You nod in reply and he smiles at you. “Then have fun. Anyone who bothers you obviously never learned manners and should be-well, perhaps I should not incriminate myself,” He teases. You laugh and throw yourself at him, hugging him tightly.
“Loki, you are my hero,” You whisper. You can feel him tense at your words and you pull away, embarrassed. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable. It’s just-”
“Will you marry me?”
“What?” You exclaim, looking up at him.
“I mean, will you- would you-could I-” He stutters, face bright red.
“Proverbial cat have your silvertongue, mischief?” You ask, grinning at him.
“May I court you, Lady Y/N?” He finally asks, smiling sweetly at you. “I’m on my knees,” He points out, his regular smirk appearing on his lips.
“Do we get to live happily ever after?” You ask, taking his hands.
“We write our own futures, right?”
Falling Away With You | Ch. 21
Sebastian x F!Reader and M. Rasmodius x F!Reader
Rating: Mature/Explicit
Chapter Summary: Mission: Abominable begins!!
Author’s Note: I keep getting frustrated at myself for writing Y/N to be so thirsty, but I’m also just writing her how I assume my character is in the game, given how harem-like Stardew kinda accidentally can be. So like.. yeah. ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧ She’ll eventually figure out that she’s probably poly lol.
Hope you enjoy! x
Magnus was super understanding when I told him that I wanted to go home and rest for a bit. I promised I’d be back later in the day, but told me with a sympathetic smile to take all the time I need to recuperate from my incident with his potion, noting that the mental effects may be drastic even with the physical symptoms gone.
It’s not just the potion I need recuperation from, I’d thought to myself with high hopes that he wouldn’t hear.
Deciding to take him up on the offer to just go back some other time, I spent the rest of the day sulking. Played a few online games with Seb, but just moped around otherwise. Wondering if that was all just an allergic reaction, or if it was my body’s way of rejecting magic… like, what if I’ve got ~the sense~ for these things, but can’t actually partake in any of it? That would suck, dude.
And then there’s the issue of that… lovey feeling that formed in me during the whole debacle.
That isn’t fun either.
We’re gonna ignore that part, though!
The new day has been lazy, but much needed, after all that farm work and stuff yesterday. I made some crepes for the first time as breakfast, researched good kotatsus for the upcoming colder seasons, and did a ton of much needed cleaning around the house. Got some playtime in with Cannoli too, once it got darker and cooler outside.
Now, the little man’s laying on my belly and purring as I stroke his soft fur. Soothing me from spiraling into any self-deprecating thoughts now that I’m not distracted by chores. Hopefully I can be a good farmer, if nothing else… but only time will tell.
I take note of how much bigger this lil’ man has gotten. He was basically skin and bone when Marnie delivered him to me like the goddamn stork, and now, he’s perfectly chubby, with fur thicker than ever before. It’s becoming apparent that he might be a Siberian, rather than a short-haired something-or-other.
I pick him up so that I can sit with my back against the headboard, holding him out in front of me once I’m settled. He softly meows, probably wanting me to put him back down, but instead I hold him to my chest like a baby and nuzzle my face onto the top of his head. His immediate purring soothes my soul. I guess I’m a pretty good cat mom, too.
I still have plenty of time — several hours, actually — to kill before I want to go to bed, but nothing feels appealing. I’ve played through all my games and don’t want to spend money on anything new quite yet. I don’t want to go back to Magnus just yet, because… obviously. I’m too lazy to make dinner, but don’t feel like ordering in either. And, it’s a Friday, so Seb and Sam have had band practice and whatnot with Abby all day. Don’t know if I wanna impede on their ritual hangouts.
It’s times like this where I really wish I had more confidence and more friends.
My phone vibrates, and in my desperation to not disturb Cannoli again, I try to grab at it without moving much. Unfortunately, I just wind up kicking it further away and onto the ground. Fuck.
Great to know that even if Magnus’ potion works, my clumsiness decided to stick around.
I apologetically kiss the fuzzy little head beneath mine before putting him aside, standing up and retrieving the device. I have a text notification from a number I don’t recognize.
Preparing for it to be spam, I unlock the screen, and am quite frankly baffled with my findings.
xxx-xxx-xxxx > heyyy. stole ur number from sebby’s phone
xxx-xxx-xxxx > it’s abby
Why is she texting me? Why was she going through his phone?
I shrug it off and quickly add her to my contacts and sit at the edge of the bed before answering.
< hey! what’s up
Abby > him and sam told me ur planning to check out that weird ass tower
Abby > i want in
Ohhh, Abigail. Just as fuckin’ peachy as ever. The stresses of the past two days aren’t allowing me to cope well with her intrusion... makin’ it real hard to want to be friends with her.
I sigh, silently urging myself to smile through the pain. It’ll pay off! If we can be friends, everyone will benefit, right?
Right?
< fine by me
< i’ll keep ya posted :)
Abby > no you won’t
Abby > we’re going tonight :)
…What?
Abby > i’ll meet you outside ur place at 12
WHAT?
< do i get any say in this?
Abby > c ya laterrr ;)
“Oh , come the fuck ON, bro!”
I hear Cannoli subtly activate beside me and put a comforting hand on his back, eyes still trained on Abby’s texts.
I peer up a few inches for the time. Just turned 8. That gives me 4 hours to contact Magnus somehow (I really need this dude’s fucking number, if he even has a phone), figure out some sort of plan that’ll benefit us both, and get back home… Ugh. I’m gonna have to go all the way there, aren’t I?
I’ve gotta leave, like, now.
I’m in the same outfit I wore out yesterday, but with one less bra and some cozy gray shorts instead of a skirt. Now isn’t the time for a bra. I toss my white sneakers over the black crew socks I’d been wearing, grab my keys, and make a dash for Magnus’ tower. I use my left forearm and hand to flatten my chest, keeping the ladies from flopping around, while my right arm pumps, phone and keys clutched in its hand.
The longer I run, the more I realize that I’m not tired. Like, at all. My lungs are fine, my heart rate seems as low as it usually rests, and I’m not breaking a sweat despite the humid summer air clinging to my skin. I wonder if this is what Magnus meant when he said the potion would lower my fatigue, like, permanently.
I also have the jarring realization that these shorts are short and they’re riding up my ass and coochie and Yoba I’m gonna look like a fucking mess showing up to his house like this. I shake my head and right wrist briefly to stop myself from getting too distracted. Gotta focus on keeping my pace.
Once the tower is within viewing distance, I check my phone for the time. About 15 minutes have passed – Magnus and I will have a few hours to get something done. I pick up the pace, only now starting to feel any shortness in my breath or dampness on my forehead. As I near the bottom of the cliff his tower’s perched on, I call out the wizard’s name, hoping he’ll hear me or feel my presence or something.
Thankfully, it works like a charm – just a few seconds after his title escapes my mouth, his response echoes within me.
“(Y/n)? What’s wrong?” He sounds worried – must’ve sensed my urgency. I sigh out in relief that he was able to answer so quickly. “Is everything alright?”
“Not really,” I explain, making my way up the steps. “Abby wants to come here tonight.”
“Fuck,” he groans, with his low and rumbly voice.
My breath hitches because o-oh my god that was the first time I’ve heard him say The Fuck Word and it sounded so—?!
I feel the hairs raise on my arms and my heart rate and temperature only now pick up.
No, (y/n)! Stop it! Bad dog!
I stop proceeding forward once I make it to the top of the stairs, breathe deeply, and blink a few times, in a desperate attempt to keep my mind empty and unable to be perceived.
Noticing how my hair threatens to stick to my neck and face, I tip my upper half down to pull my tresses up into a ponytail. God, my shorts were already riding up before, but the bent over motion I just did is shoving them further into my crack. Luckily, I’m able to get them into a more appropriate position by the time Magnus opens the door.
He asks aloud, “When will she be arriving?” as I give myself a once-over to make sure I’m not terribly disheveled.
“She wants to meet me at my house at midnight, and work from there.”
As I roll my sleeves to my elbows, I look up to meet his eyes, blue with concern. He sighs and runs his hands through his hair, his other on his hip, as he scans my face, and then my body oh god oh fuck and then my face again.
“Well,” he looks down at his feet in thought for a moment, trailing off. He seems to be in thought, but I could swear I just saw a flash of pink or red in his irises before they turned maroon again… Huh. “I must disguise anywhere that will be accessible, as well as bar off the basement.”
Magnus meets my orbs again, looking more confident this time around. “I can perform an enchantment to rearrange the appearance of my home, but it will require plenty of energy. It would be too risky to try the same spell downstairs, due to its inventory. Would you be willing to complete a small task while I work?”
I nod, “Yeah, of course.” I walk forward, so that I’m not, like, shouting at him from the top of the stairs anymore.
He lets me inside as he explains the first priority for the night. Magnus leads me downstairs, and describes that he has a statue down here – he calls it the Shrine of Illusions – which he can use to change his appearance at the cost of a drop of blood and some money. He has to do this, being how much different he looks than your average villager around here; and we do want him to seem like some guy that just so happens to like living in seclusion, after all.
While he’s talking, I gaze around yearningly at the bookshelves surrounding either side of the hallway. It’s been so long since I’ve read anything other than, like, fanfiction. Noticing my wandering eyes, he promises to allow me back here in the future, claiming a lot of these will help with my potential apprenticeship.
The room he escorts me to has some more books and a lounging area to the left, and the Shrine to the right, with a smaller version of the spell circle he has upstairs in front of it. I assume he needs to stand there or some shit for the shrine to do its thing.
After a warning that it’ll take him a bit to finish his transformation, I get cozy with a book on the opposite end of the room. The one I picked out at random – The Wizard’s Compendium: Oaths of the Corrupted – is an allegedly true story about the people who used to live in a desert in Galdora, now called the Crimson Badlands. It became dangerous and barren over time, due to a rising presence of black magic amongst its inhabitants.
I want to focus on the book so badly. I’m genuinely interested in learning, especially based on what the summary has to say about it… but once I glimpse up to check on Magnus, I find it hard to revert my attention.
As he works, his skin glows brightly, like those fancy berries he’s cultivating outside. He sits cross legged, floating above the also glowing ring painted on the floor, with his hands splayed out in front of him as some funky lil’ stars twirl around them. A slight breeze blows his hair out of his face, and his expression resembles that of someone who’s sleeping: eyes closed, mouth relaxed, only deep breaths escaping him.
He’s so beautiful.
Fuck.
No.
Stop ogling.
Wincing at myself, I sink lower onto the scarlet cushion of the sofa, and attempt to delve back into the book. Just when I’m finally getting lost in its contents, Magnus approaches.
“Alright, how do I look?”
Taking note of what page I’m on for future reference, I shut the book and all but melt at the figure before me.
Magnus’ usual gray skin is now a rich, dark amber. His hair is black with some gray speckled throughout, and his eyes are a deep and piercing shade of liquid gold, with some light wrinkles adorning the corners and bags. His ears are no longer pointed, but all else remains the same – he’s still crazy tall, still has the same features, and still has that stupid little beauty mark under his one eye. His clothes aren’t different either, but his earrings are gone.
Unfortunately, he looks stunning.
I barely even notice how easily I fucking blurt that opinion out to him oh my fucking god, but when his eyes widen and a deep crimson paints his cheeks, I realize my mistake. My features mirror his in an instant.
“O-oh my god, I mean, um…” I stammer for a sec as I look down at the closed book in my lap, trying to figure out the best way to escape this situation. “I just…” There is no escape. “I didn’t mean to just…” I am trapped. “Fuck.” I am a dumbass. “Sorry…” I mumble in defeat, hiding my face in my hands.
I only look back up when I feel his hand comfortingly flatten against my scalp, prompting a squeak out of me. He’s smirking, and has a mischievous glint in his eye as he starts his response. That look isn’t something I see often... only from, like, Seb.
My boyfriend…
Fuck me.
“I appreciate the praise, (y/n).” His voice sounds more… silky than usual? Hello?! “Truly.”
He removes the hand from my head and gestures for me to give him my own, so he can help me from my seat. I quietly and meekly thank him as I return the book back to its spot on the shelf. Then, Magnus explains our next steps:
I’m gonna be performing a low-level spell – one that he thinks I should be able to manage, despite my fucking atrocious experience with magic yesterday – in order to reinforce that nobody’ll be able to enter the basement until Abby’s gone. He doesn’t want me near him as he enchants the main areas, because one wrong move by me can throw everything off. He reminds me that we don’t want Abby to know magic is, like, an actuality yet. Any indication of what he does can turn this night into a whole thing. So, when I’m done enchanting the door, I’m to wait at the bottom of the stairs that lead down here until further notice.
I patiently linger by the top of the steps, admiring Magnus’ plants until he returns with a tome. He opens to the page I’ll need, and points to a specific section; he then mutters something barely legible, and a purple highlighter effect spreads across the lines I’m supposed to read.
“Remember, (y/n),” he sternly orders with a hand on my shoulder. “Don’t read anything else in this book out loud, even as a whisper.” I nod, and he reinforces the point, his unfamiliarly dazzling eyes boring into mine. “The effects of any other spell in this book summoned by an untrained mage could legitimately become catastrophic.”
“Got it,” I confirm with another nod. I let out a shaky breath as I look away from his face. “No pressure.”
His hand still on my shoulder, he gives it a squeeze. “Hey,” he calls for my attention. “I am assigning this to you so that you can practice. It’s quite elementary, but being that you’ve never incanted a spell before, it is truly not an issue if you find yourself unable.” Magnus offers a reassuring smile, seemingly melting my worries away. “I believe you can do this. And if your efforts fail, it’s nothing that I can’t fix once I’m done with my own duties upstairs. Alright?”
I nod again. Go off, bobblehead. I grin up at his kind features and thank him for the support, adding, “I’ll do my best.”
As Magnus climbs the stairs, he assures me he’ll need no more than 25 minutes, but reminds me that I absolutely cannot interrupt.
When he’s gone, I sigh, and look down at the open book in my arms. I sit on the steps in front of the locked door, reading it over in my head a few times.
I fumble my words often when I’m nervy, but when it comes to reading things out loud, I’m a fucking disaster. I need to rehearse this a few times if I want to do it correctly… then again, I don’t know if I can do the spell, nor do I know how much mana I have if that’s even something I do have, so I’m unsure of how many chances I’ll get to get this right.
A few minutes pass before I hear things moving around upstairs. I’m assuming that means Magnus is already deep in his work.
Now’s probably a good time to try this.
I stand up, taking a few deep breaths and hopping in place a little to shake out my worries. I then reach out in front of me until my palm is flat on the wooden door, look down at the grimoire, and begin.
My incantation is slow, and I’m careful to enunciate the words on the page. A few syllables in, something begins to tickle the inside of my stomach – it’s hard to ignore, but I do my best to push it aside. Before I know it, that feeling spreads, and suddenly it’s like I can distinctly feel each and every vein pulsing in my body. With only a few words left, the hand on the door begins to shimmer similarly to how Magnus did downstairs during his makeover.
And then…
There’s no fancy sparks, or any visible force coating the door, or anything. All that fancy shit… just kinda stopped once my words faded.
…Maaybe I just have to test it for myself?
I take a deep breath, wrap my fingers around the handle, and swing the door open with ease god fucking damnit.
I wish I knew what had gone wrong, but I’ve obviously got no idea, and it’s not like I have Magnus here supervising or providing guidance.
I guess I’ll just have to keep going.
🎢 - maybe a little newsies x gn!reader in general (but maybe it could be a race x gn!reader) where they are out ghost hunting and actually get signs and freak tf out?
sorry if that it too long, but I’m watching Sam and Colby rn and thought it could be cool.
🎢 - send me a scenario and a character of your choice and i'll write a either hcs or a little drabble about them (can be x reader *if it is pls tell me ur preferred pronouns* but it doesn't have to be)!
•••
Sorry this took a while!
•••
"I don't like it in here" you whispered, holding a lantern infront of you.
"Aw cmon (y/n) it ain't that bad" Race teased, throwing a playful arm around your shoulders.
"I dunno man, I kinda agree with (y/n)" Skittery stutters, standing very far behind the group.
"Look of you wanna complain then you can-" Jack starts, but doesn't get to finish before a door to the side slams shut, causing everyone to jump and turn around.
"Okay whoever did that, you're not funny" You retort, rolling your eyes to secretly hide the fact your heart was pounding.
"Nobody was near that door" Race breathed, stepping closer to the door.
"I knew this was a bad idea from the start!" you whined, turning back to leave the abandoned building.
Before you could exit, you saw a light flicker out of the corner of your eye. You slowly turn to the boys and find that they're all staring with a horrified expression on their faces.
"Um well... now that I think about it, ghost huntin' is for little kids. Maybe we should leave." Race says coolly, failing at hiding his scared look.
All the boys agreed at once so you guys left, never forgetting that experience.
Warnings: !FATWS Spoilers!, Cursing, Fluff, Feelings, I Dunno What Else, This One’s Pretty Chill, Except The Ending, But You’ll See When You Get There
A/N: Here it is! I was hesitant about posting it because that means we’re getting closer to the end and I’m such a nostalgic bitch! I’m definitely gonna cry next week when the last episode comes out! Anyways, I’ve got a few things to talk about:
I think this is one of the most important chapters I’ve written and I’m excited to see your reactions to it. It is longer, but you guys asked for that, so you got it! Also, I’m loving the Asks, Comments, and Reblogs. I try to respond to all of them. I have work in a little bit, so I won’t be able to until after, but I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Ask me anything; about my series, the show, any of the movies, personal stuff, I really don’t care. If you’re not comfortable, that’s totally fine! Every like means so much to me!
I know it’s not the end yet - we’ve got one more episode and a list of One Shots to get through - but there’s a definite feeling of this series coming to an end, and I just want to thank you all for the support and love you’ve been giving it! I’ve really enjoyed writing these characters and this story! It’s very, very special to me and I’m glad I’ve been able to share it with you lovely people!
On that note, be kind to yourselves and others! Thank you again for reading! Excuse any mistakes - this isn’t beta’d! Enjoy and stay tuned!
!SPOILERS UNDER CUT! (Sorry for the gifs I just love them so much and he’s so pretty and this part is technically two parts so...you get four!)
“Louisiana.” Bucky hummed, looking around the airport.
You rolled your eyes. “You’re not gonna find anything interesting about Louisiana in here, doofus. Let’s call an Uber.”
“An Ooper? What the hell is an Ooper?”
You giggled, shaking your head and grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the luggage carousel. “Uber. It’s like…a taxi service. But there’s an app on your phone to get a driver instead of waiting for one on the street.”
“Oh.” He blinked, tilting his head. “That’s…helpful.”
You laughed again, stopping in front of Carousel 3, where your flight from New York was assigned. You went back to New York to grab a bag with clean clothes and other necessities, along with taking a real shower for once. It was nice to be back in the States, as much as you loved traveling. It’d been a crazy few weeks and you were ready to just relax.
“Do you think there were any problems with Sammy’s present?”
Bucky shook his head. “Nah. Especially considering they know who we are.”
You snickered at his slight grumble. They had had…problems at the other two airports - first the one in Sokovia then JFK in New York - considering Bucky’s entire arm was metal. It’d taken a full hour before they actually let you go, and by that time they had to give you a new plane because yours had left.
“Seriously. Who else has a fucking metal arm and has 1917 listed as their birth year on their Driver’s License?” You giggled again. That was also true. They thought he was messing with them. It wasn’t until you stepped in a few minutes after they asked Bucky to step to the side, seeing Bucky get frustrated, that they realized Bucky wasn’t pulling their legs.
“Well, we’re here now and that’s all that matters.”
He nodded in agreement, watching for your bags, his hand finding yours when he realized how many people there were. “Do you know where he lives? I didn’t even think about it.”
“Yeah, don’t worry. He invited me over once. I declined, but I saved the address.”
“He…invited you over?” Bucky frowned.
You gave him a look. “I’m sure he invited you, too. You just never checked his texts.”
He licked his lips, tilting his head. “Yeah, no, I know, but I mean…why didn’t you go? Weren’t you two just talking about how you wanted to meet his nephews the other day?”
“Yeah, but I had gotten a tip on Wanda at the time and I didn’t want to miss the chance that she was there. He told me it was fine. I still felt really bad. I could tell he was a bit disappointed. I think it was one of the boys’ birthdays. Or something. I don’t remember. Is that bad? Yeah, probably. I really should remember. Maybe I should keep track of birthdays on my calendar or something.”
“Doll.” You looked up to find him giving you a magnificent smile, teeth and all. “You’re rambling.”
“Oh. Am I? Sorry. I didn’t realize.”
He shook his head quickly, squeezing your hand. “Don’t apologize. It’s cute. I’m just not used to you talking so much. You kinda did on the phone sometimes.”
You shrugged, pushing down the heat crawling up your neck at his words. “I rambled a lot to Steve.”
“Oh.”
His face fell, making you scrunch your eyebrows up in confusion, nudging him slightly to grin at him. “It’s nice to have someone to ramble to again, though.” There was that smile again. You were stopped from saying anything more when you noticed some kids pointing and chattering excitedly at a gleaming silver box coming around the corner on the conveyor belt. “There it is.”
He looked over his shoulder, dropping your hand and stepping over to grab it, lifting it effortlessly. You didn’t know what was in it or how heavy it was, but you were sure it felt like a feather to him.
“Alright. Got our bag, sweetheart?” You lifted up the duffle in answer and he jerked his head towards the doors. “Let’s get outta here, then. Call that Booper or whatever.”
“U-B-E-R! Ub-er!” You threw your hands up, following him as he started walking towards the exit. “What’s so hard about it?!”
He just gave you a little smirk over his shoulder.
***************
Bucky kept asking the Uber driver questions about his job. The guy was super nice and patient the whole time, a thick southern accent lacing his answers. Southern hospitality was no joke and apparently had no limit as Bucky asked about his experiences, listening intently and telling him his own stories of taxi drivers in NYC.
When you got to Sam’s sister’s house, Bucky, being Bucky, tipped the driver half of what you paid for the ride, thanking him for his time and energy, before getting out.
“You’re so adorable, you know that?” You teased him as you stepped up the porch stairs and knocked on the door.
He rolled his eyes, a tint of pink dusting across his cheeks. “He was nice.”
You hummed at his defense, the smile never leaving your features. After a moment, Bucky raised his fist to knock again. “Jesus Christ! Don’t fucking knock their door down!” You grabbed his wrist and lowered it.
“Sorry. I forget sometimes.” Bucky informed you absentmindedly,  tilting his head to peek in the window. “I don’t think anyone’s home.”
“They’re probably at the docks, then.”
Bucky raised an eyebrow. “The docks?”
You nodded, gesturing for him to follow you. “Yeah. They have a boat, remember? He talked about it last week.”
“Oh right. The one he’s trying to convince his sister not to sell.”
“Yeah.” You confirmed. “I’m pretty sure it’s that way. I don’t know how far, but we can call the Uber back-”
Bucky scrunched up his face and shook his head. “Nah. I don’t wanna bother him again. We can walk.”
You gave him an incredulous look. “It’s literally his job to drive people around.”
“Well, yeah, but what if he’s got other people to drive?”
You lifted his metal knuckles to your lips. “Trust me, Buck, I’m sure he’d rather drive you than anyone else.”
“Thank you?”
Swinging your now linked hands, you gave a firm nod, letting him know it was, in fact, a compliment. “You are so very welcome.”
The walk was a lot longer than you thought it was, and you ended up on Bucky’s back after he kept complaining about how you “shouldn’t be walking this long” and you were “injured” and you “needed rest’”. You’re not sure how a shoulder wound affected your ability to walk, but you relented and let him carry you the rest of the way to stop his whining.
“You forget, you did pull your thigh.”
“That was, like, three weeks ago! Yeesh!”
You finally got to the docks, which were bustling with people. Bucky set you down and raised an eyebrow which you shrugged in reply to, before heading over to where you spotted Sam with a few other older men.
“How do we get it off the truck?” You heard Sam ask, pointing to a large boat engine part in the bed of a beaten up truck. Scoffing as Bucky lifted it up without breaking a sweat, you leaned against the truck. Bucky grunted and set it down, looking at Sam.
“You’re welcome.” What a punk. “Just dropping this off.” Bucky lifted the case and set it where the engine was previously, Sam coming to stand on the opposite side of the truck as you. “You can sign for it and I’ll go.” You snorted, shaking your head, making Bucky shove your shoulder - the uninjured one - playfully. “I called in a favor from the Wakandans.”
Sam looked at you curiously. You shrugged and shook your head. “Don’t look at me, Sammy. He wouldn’t tell me what it is. He’s all hushy hushy about it until you say so.”
Before Sam could reply, there was a squeak and hissing over at the boat where steam was coming from a few pipes.
“Sam!” You knew that was Sarah from pictures Sam showed you. You stayed up by the truck, pulling yourself onto the bed while Sam tried fixing the pipe, Bucky butting in to show him how to do it properly.
“Why didn’t you use the metal arm?”
You saw Bucky lift up said metallic limb. “Well…I don’t always think of it immediately. I’m-I’m right handed.” Letting out a laugh, Bucky turned around and scowled teasingly at you. “And what’re you laughing at?!”
“Nothing!”
“Well then get your ass over here!”
You rolled your eyes, hopping down from the truck as Bucky asked if Sam wanted help with the boat. You leaned against a wooden post, grinning when Sam looked at you.
“I don’t have any plans.”
Sam gave a small smile, jerking his head back. “Yeah.”
You jumped down onto the boat to follow him, looking over your shoulder and stopping with an amused eyebrow raised as Bucky introduced himself to Sarah. “I’m Bucky.”
“Ah…Sarah.”
“Sarah.” Bucky repeated her name, before walking towards you, a grin still on his lips.
“Careful, Barnes. That playboy Steve warned me about is coming out.” You nudged him with a smirk, ignoring the feeling of your stomach dropping.
He rolled his eyes, kissing your head as he passed you and Sam to go where Sam was gesturing. “Don’t worry, Y/N. You’re still my doll.”
Sam raised an eyebrow, falling into step besides you and lowering his voice. “Conversation?”
“Hasn’t happened.” You informed him through clenched teeth as he groaned.
Sam gave you a list of chores that needed to be done to clean up the boat, giving you a quick tour and letting you know where all the tools needed where. You set to work immediately.
Sanding down, replacing old parts, cleaning, polishing and painting over the things that didn’t need replacing. They didn’t let you do any heavy lifting because of your stupid shoulder, but you were still able to help.
Sam had turned on some music for you to listen to, so you danced around the boat while cleaning. Turning your head when you felt a pair of eyes on you, you smiled when Bucky snapped his head back down to the wood he was sanding down.
“Gonna dance, Barnes?”
He looked back over, shaking his head. “Nah. I’m good watching you.”
Rolling your eyes, you got back to work, continuing to bop to the music, fully aware that he was watching you now.
A little while later, you were repainting the edges of the boat orange, when you looked over and noticed Bucky playing around with a paint scraper…sitting right on the edge that you had just finished repainting a few minutes ago.
“Buck!”
He looked over, eyebrows raised. “Yeah?”
You bit your lip, trying to hold back your mischievous grin. Shaking your head, you waved dismissively. “Never mind!”
He gave you a confused sort of pout, before shrugging and continuing to fidget with the tool. It wasn’t until later when he got up to help Sam tear the metal plating off the edge that it came to light with Sam chuckling and raising an eyebrow.
“Sit in something there, Barnes?”
“What?”
Bucky craned his neck back, eyes widening when he saw the orange paint on his ass, contrasting with his jeans. You let out a cackle and he whipped towards you, pointing at you accusingly, although the small uptick of his lips let you know he wasn’t really mad.
“Y/N!”
“No, no, no!” You laughed, sprinting across the deck, shrieking when he grabbed your waist and spun you around. You gasped when he grabbed a paint brush and painted an orange stripe right down the front of your shirt. “James!”
“Justice, sweetheart.” He breathed in your ear with a chuckle.
You shook your head, wiggling out of his hold. “This is a nice shirt!”
“You should’ve thought about that before.” He smirked, crossing his arms. Your eyes caught sight of Sam behind him, who raised an eyebrow and the bucket of paint he was holding. You nodded with a little giggle, making Bucky’s eyes narrow. “What’s so funny over there, do - holy shit!
You guffawed as orange paint dripped down his head, Sam standing innocently behind him with the now empty bucket behind his back. “Samuel!”
“Oops?”
“I’m gonna kill you!”
“Try me old man!”
“Fuck!
“Doll!”
“Oh my God!”
Paint, orange and white since those were the only cans they had out, flew across the deck, paint brushes being used like fencing swords.
You found out too late that wet paint was a little bit slippery and you slid on a huge puddle, sending you, not onto the ground below, but over the side of the edge into the water.
“Doll!”
“Cher, you good?!”
The three of you looked at each other, stunned for a moment, before bursting into fits of laughter and you nodded. “I’m good!”
The boys helped you get back up onto the dock, Sarah appearing with towels she conjured up out of thin air. “Let’s get you into dry clothes. Do you have-?”
“We’ve got some. We got a bag.” You told her with a grin, facing the guys. “You two should clean up some, too. Sammy, you’ve got a little something right there.” You pointed to your cheek, his own having a giant white splotch from his temple to his jaw. “And Buck?” You sniggered, gesturing to the whole of him. “You’ve got a lotta something right there.”
“Ha. Ha.” He looked down. His top was practically tiger print, drenched in orange with white here and there, and his ass still orange as well. His hair, which had been plastered to his forehead, was starting to dry now, and it only made you laugh some more thinking about what a pain it’d be to get it out. For him, at least.
“God. Can’t even have a relaxing day on the boat with you two.” Sam jested once you finished up and joined him and Bucky, who had just finished dumping out some water buckets. Bucky had changed his shirt and it looked like they tried wiping their faces, but Sam still had small lines of white down his face. “How ‘bout a couple of drinks? Surely you can’t ruin that too.”
“Ruin?” You gasped in mock offence. “Sammy! I just made the day more…interesting.”
Sam chuckled, ruffling Bucky’s hair, which still had orange streaks in it. “Let’s go get some beers.”
************
You chatted for a bit, mainly you and Sam with you asking how Sarah and the boys were while Bucky with your legs in his lap, just listening to you two and sipping at his bottle. You had his hand in your own lap, wiping it down with a rag due to the paint that got on it.
“You’re lucky this is vibranium, you know.” You commented off handedly. “If it was your other one, it’d definitely get stained.”
“And who’s fault is that?” Bucky shot back with a teasing grin.
“Sammy’s.”
Sam spluttered. “Wh-what?! You started it!” You laughed, shaking your head.
Falling into a comfortable silence with just the water and birds chirping as your soundtrack, you downed the rest of your drink, which Bucky took as finished. “Well,” you moved your legs to let him stand up. He leaned forwards to clink his bottle against Sam’s and you stood up and stretched. “Gotta catch our flight tomorrow. Get a hotel room for the night.” Sam gave you a look to which you rolled your eyes at as Bucky set down his bottle and grabbed his jacket. “Crash, you know?”
“So you’re just gonna set me up like that, huh?”
“Well I don’t wanna make it weird for your family.”
“Just stay here.” You laughed as Sam babbled on about how nice the people were here, grabbing the jacket Bucky handed to you. It was getting a bit chilly from the breeze on the water and the sun going down. Plus, that water was cold.
“But don’t flirt with my sister.”
You cackled at Bucky’s face, that turned serious, his head shaking. “No.”
“‘Cause if you do I’ll have Carlos cut you up and feed you to the fish.”
“Can’t hold back the dog, Wilson. It’s been stuck in a kennel too long.”
Bucky turned to you, grabbing your jaw and squishing your cheeks together. “You know what? You need to shush. You’ve been snippy all day.”
You just smiled as innocently as you could with your lips being held by his metal fingers. “You’re too fun to mess with.”
He pecked your nose. “As long as I’m the only one you’re messing with. I’ll be right back.” He let you go and spun around, maneuvering around the boat in a way only a trained assassin could do.
“Oh my God, please! Please just put me out of my fucking misery! You’re killing me, cher.”
“What?” You gaped at him.
“Don’t act innocent!” Sam huffed, giving you a pointed look. “If I have to watch you two make googly eyes at you one more fucking day with neither of you doing anything about it-”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh come on, Sammy-”
“Don’t ‘come on, Sammy’ me! And don’t come at me with that ‘he doesn’t like me back’ bullshit. If you think for a second that boy wouldn’t follow you to the depths of the fucking ocean, you’re blind as a bat, woman.”
You shrugged, pushing up the sleeves of Bucky’s too big jacket. “It just…hasn’t come up.”
He deadpanned, shaking his head and standing up. “That’s it. I’m done. You two are driving me insane. I’m gonna lock you in a room until you have the conversation that needs to be had the next time either of you does something stupid.”
“Yikes. That’s gonna be quick.” At his look, your smile dropped and you nodded. “Okay, okay. I’ll…I’ll bring it up later.”
“Tomorrow or nothing.”
“Sam-”
Sam tilted his head, brow creasing. “Is it still Steve? Is that what this is still about? Because he’s gone, and he’s been gone and you need to get over it-”
“No. It’s not…” You sighed. “It clicked the other day. When we were hanging out. Steve left and, yeah, I might always love him, but Bucky…God…I love Bucky, Sam.”
The man grinned proudly. “I’m glad to finally hear you admit it. So what’s the problem?”
“It’s still complicated, right? I mean…he’s his best friend and I’ve never dealt with stuff like this before and-”
Sam’s smile dropped and he groaned again. “Imma head out. I can’t take this. Dumbass and dumberass. I swear to God.” You sniggered a bit as he grumbled, walking towards the ramp to climb off the boat, just as Bucky reappeared.
“Hey-”
“Nope! Not right now, Barnes! I can’t handle it! I can’t!”
Bucky gave you a weird look. “What’d you do?”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “Nothing.”
“Well, c’mon, doll. Sarah said she’s gonna make gumbo for us, whatever that is.” He held out his hand as you walked over.
“You’re such a city boy.” You teased lightly, taking his hand and letting him help you pull you onto the dock. You shoved the sleeves of his jackets up again since they slipped from the first time. “Let’s go get some dinner. I’m starving.”
******************
“We have the couch and a mattress we can pull out, I just have to make Sam get it from the attic-”
“That’s alright. The couch is fine.” Bucky waved dismissively while you nodded in agreement.
Sarah raised an eyebrow at you two. “For both of you?”
You blinked, exchanging a look with Bucky, before shrugging and turning back to her. “Yeah.”
“Don’t fight it, Sarah.” Sam peeked out from the hall. “They’ve got a weird relationship.” You stuck your tongue out at the man while Bucky rolled his eyes, dropping your duffle bag by the couch. “How mature, Y/N.” Sam mimicked your action.
“Uhm…okay. Let me set up the couch for you then.”
Once everything was set up, you and Bucky thanking her for dinner - delicious and you’d never seen Bucky smile so much, the boys having kept him highly entertained throughout the meal - and for letting you crash, Sam and Sarah headed to their rooms, the boys already having been tucked in for the night.
“Are you gonna sleep on the floor?” You asked quietly, sitting down on the couch and doing the things for your night routine you didn’t already do in the bathroom.
“I think I’ll be okay.” He sat besides you. “I’ve been doing fine the past week or so.”
You smiled at him. “That’s good. Alright.” You stood up and stretched. “Let me just make sure everything’s in the bag and ready-”
You yelped when his arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you into his chest, shifting down to lay against the couch’s arm. “Do it in the morning.” He yawned, looking up at you tiredly. “I wanna go to sleep.”
“Then go to sleep, Buck. I’ll be right back.” He shook his head, his hold tightening as he sunk deeper into the couch.
“No. I fall asleep better with you.”
You rolled your eyes but grinned, settling down with your legs between his, your chin resting on his sternum so you could still look at him. He beamed, but you could see the exhaustion settling in, and he grabbed the blanket Sarah left over the back of the couch and draped it across your back, over both of your legs, before his arms crossed snugly under the covers at the small of your back.
“Dinner was nice tonight. I haven’t had a meal cooked like that in ages.” You hummed.
He nodded in agreement. “I think that’s the first time I’ve sat around a table with a family since the 40′s.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Did you like it?”
“Yeah...kinda makes me wish I had my own.”
“Your own what?”
“Family.”
You bit your lip, shyly avoiding his gaze. “You’re my family, Buck.”
A light kiss was pressed to your forehead, his fingers bringing your gaze back to his. “There’s no one else I’d rather have.” The room lapsed into silence again, the clock ticking on the wall, the low sound of crickets outside.
“You have really pretty eyes.” You mumbled, tilting your head slightly as you studied them. They always held so much emotion in them, especially in contrast to when you first met him as Soldat. They matched the water you fell in, and you wouldn’t mind falling over and over into them.
“Yeah, well, you’re just really pretty inside and out, so I think you’ve got me beat, doll.” He whispered back.
“You know who else is pretty? Sarah.”
He nodded with a hum. “That’s true. But I meant what I said. You’ll always be my doll.”
“So you’re not gonna ask her out?”
He gave you a weird look as you traced his sharp jawline absentmindedly. “Nah, sweetheart. It’s just…some harmless flirting. Except on Sam’s part.”
You gave a soft huff of laughter. “Yeah…he’s gonna strangle you. It is nice to see you like that, though. Flirty. Relaxed. Happy.”
“You make me happy, sweetheart.” He hummed, nosing your temple. “The road trip helped. I’m learning everything from you. Maybe not the flirting, but the carefree part.”
You blinked at him, finger stopping for a moment as you thought. “Oh…”
You felt his fingers dance up your spine, making you shiver slightly. “What I would give to know what’s goin’ on inside that pretty lil’ head’a yours, doll.”
“I just think it’s funny you’re learning how to be carefree from me…when I just started learning how to do it myself.”
“Oh yeah?”
You nodded, your finger continuing its path down his jaw. “I think it started with the goats.”
“The goats?”
You nodded again, resting your cheek on his chest, watching your finger move up from his chin. Once you got to the end of his jaw, you lightly scratched his scruff. “In Wakanda. Our goats.” You weren’t looking at him, so you didn’t see the way he physically melted at your words, his eyes going soft, his lips turning up slightly.
“Our goats, huh?”
But your tired brain wasn’t really processing what he said, instead focusing on the features your finger was now tracing - over his lips, up his nose. “You’re pretty too, Buck. Did you know that? Inside and out.”
He craned his neck to kiss your forehead. “Go to sleep, cuddle bug.”
Nodding, you nuzzled into his chest, finger feeling over the bumps and indents on the dog tags resting near your head. You tried going to sleep, but you kept shifting, your mind not shutting off.
“Hey, sleepyhead, I’m trying to, you know, sleep.”
“Sorry.” You apologized meekly. “I just…I dunno. I can’t.”
“Are you comfortable?” He peeked open and eye to look at you questioningly. You nodded. “Is it too hot? We can take the blanket off. I know I’m a walking furnace-”
You shook your head. “No. I don’t know why. I just can’t sleep.”
He licked his lips thoughtfully, before cradling your head and guiding you back down to his chest. “Lay down, sweetheart. Relax.” He stroked your hair, moving his head down to rub circles in your back muscles, pressing down harder when he felt knots.
You hummed, your eyes closing. “That feels good.”
“Shshsh. Just go to sleep.” His lips pressed against your head once more, lingering a bit longer than they usually do, as you felt yourself drift off. You cuddled his side, throwing a leg over his waist, before nodding off, only barely hearing his words. “Attagirl. There we are.”
******************
“Doll?” You felt a shift underneath you and groaned, your eyes barely cracking open. “Hey, sleepyhead…it’s okay. I’m just gonna slip out from under ya, alright? Gonna go help Sammy with somethin’.”
You raised an eyebrow, letting him move you against the cushions as he sat up on the edge of the couch. “Sammy?”
“Yeah.” He bent over and kissed your cheek. You stretched out your limbs, about to rub your eyes, when he stopped you, kissing the inside of your wrists. “No. Not you, doll. Go back to sleep.”
“Bu’...’m gonna help.” You slurred out, looking at him with confused, squinty eyes.
He chuckled, shaking his head. “It’s okay. Rest. You can help when you wake up again. Okay?” You mumbled out an “okay”, bringing the covers up to your chin and snuggling deeper into the cushions. “There ya go, cuddle bug. Good girl.” There was another kiss, one to your temple this time, before you slipped back into unconsciousness.
******************
The next time you woke up was because of a clatter in the kitchen. You yawned and sat up, stretching, eyebrows furrowing when you realized Bucky wasn’t with you. It took you a moment to remember your conversation, which you half thought you dreamt.
“Boys!”
“Sorry!”
You chuckled at the shouts, rubbing your eyes. “I am so sorry!” Sarah apologized, looking over at you from the stove. Trying to make the boys breakfast before school. Do you want anything? Eggs? Cereal? Toast?”
“Uh, cereal’s fine.” You stretched out your back again, before throwing back the covers and standing up, a little shakily.
“You wouldn’t happen to know where Sam went, would you?”
You raised an eyebrow. “Uh, I think him and Bucky went to fix something on the boat. I don’t for sure, though.”
Sarah groaned. “He probably went to fix the stupid water pump which doens’t need fixing. Dumbass.”
You chuckled, padding over into the kitchen. “Yeah. I just work with him. I can’t imagine growing up with him.”
“Trust me; some days you want to throw him in a box and send him out to sea. Bowls are in that cupboard.”
You snickered, moving over to grab a bowl from the cupboard she pointed to. “That’s how I feel with Bucky. Sam is less often, but when those two get together…it’s a full zoo.”
She laughed at that, nodding as she got out the milk and a few boxes of cereal for you to choose from, handing you a spoon. “That I believe.”
“Thank you.”
“Of course.”
You started pouring your cereal, watching in slight amusement as she got the boys ready for school. “Bus is here! Get out the door! Bye! Love you! Make sure you take those extra lunches to-!”
“Yeah, mom! We know! Love you too!”
You gave a slight smirk as she huffed, looking around the kitchen at the pans and dishes left out. “Kids, huh?”
She gave you a smile. “Yeah. They’re a handful, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. How about you? Any thoughts of kids?”
“Me?” Your eyes widened, nearly choking on your food. “Oh God no. Not right now, at least. I don’t even have a solid house right now. My life’s too off the walls for that.”
“And Bucky?”
You raised an eyebrow as she leaned on the counter. “Bucky? What about Bucky?”
“Does he want kids?”
“Uh…I dunno.” You shrugged, clearing your throat as you remembered your talk last night. “Kinda makes me wish I had my own.” You quickly pushed his words aside. “He hasn’t told me.”
“Wait, wait. You two…aren’t together then?”
You blinked, your eyes widening again. “Together? Me and Bucky? No…why? Did Sam say something?”
Her expression morphed into one of disbelief, crossing her arms. “Sam didn’t say anything. You guys did. Are you seriously expecting me to believe you aren’t together?”
“We’re not! I mean - he was flirting with you yesterday-”
“Right, okay. Honey, that’s flirting. And it’s harmless. The way he follows you like a puppy and you look at him like he hung the stars? That’s feelings. And that’s a lot more impactful than flirting.”
You frowned in contemplation. It was really that obvious? You were really that blind? This whole time? You knew Sam knew - but you just figured that’s because he’s been there since it started. And Sharon knew for the same reason. But Sarah? The woman you just met the day prior and had barely had a conversation with?
“It’s, uh…” You chewed on your cheek, swirling your cereal around. “It’s complicated.”
Sarah didn’t look impressed. “Do you like him?”
“I’m kinda in love with him-”
She shrugged, not letting you finish your bashful statement. “Then I don’t see what’s complicated about it.”
And that was that. She turned to clean up breakfast, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
You thought it was more complicated than that. I mean…you were in love with your best friend. Who left you. With the guy you had feelings for who just so happened to be your best friend/crush’s best friend. And now you were completely in love with your best friend’s best friend, but your best friend still had a piece of your heart.
But…you loved Bucky. And he was here. And Steve was not. And when you put it that way…you guess it wasn’t so complicated after all.
******************
You snickered as you walked up behind Sarah, the woman berating the men for not leaving the water pump along like she asked.
“Hi, Sarah.”
Sam shot Bucky a warning look, who grinned, but you were surprised to see Sarah ignore him, sending you a knowing glance instead, before turning back to Sam. “I told you specifically that the water pump was not the problem, and yet, here you are.”
“Yep, Samuel.”
You chuckled, Bucky shooting you a wink. “Yeah, Samuel.”
Sam narrowed his eyes at you, turning to Sarah. “In our defense, you were supposed to be done long before you woke up.”
You nearly facepalmed at his “defensive” and you were trying so hard to hold back laughing as she told Sam off, sending them away.
“I don’t wanna hear a peep from you.” Sam pointed at you, but that only made your chortles come out, and you didn’t even bother hiding them. “She’s a very mean person.”
“It’s tough love.”
You giggled as they started arguing, slipping an arm around their waists, their arms instinctually coming up to your shoulders.
“Oh my God. A prowess?”
“Yes, Y/N. A prowess.”
“You know, maybe if you someone let me help-”
“Hey, woah! You were tired! I let you sleep! I was being nice!”
“Too late now. I’ll be lucky if Sarah lets me within a hundred feet of it!”
“She got you so good, Sammy!”
“I agree with Buck for once! You’re too snippy right now! And c’mon man! Stop flirting with my sister!”
“It’s my natural charm.”
“Charm? What charm?”
“Ouch, doll! That one hurt!”
****************
“Okay.” You stepped out of the bathroom, walking over to the couch and setting the bag down on it. “I’ve got everything packed. We’ve got a little over an hour until we need to head out which gives you two time to go set something up for Sammy and maybe even a bit or training before we leave.”
Bucky frowned. “You’re not gonna come out?”
“I will in a bit. I just got a phone call I need to take.”
Sam narrowed his eyes. “Government call?”
You gave a mocking smile. “Can you guess what they want to talk about? It’s okay. I’ll survive. It’s only a phone call, so I can always hang up. Pretend I didn’t have good service. I do it all the time.”
“I’m sure you do.” Sam chuckled. “In that case, I’m gonna go grab some stuff and get the shield.” As he walked out, he made sure to mouth at you behind Bucky’s back ‘conversation’ making you swallow thickly. You were planning on talking to Bucky anyways, and with Sam’s insistence…
“Okay, so, I was thinking when we get back-”
“Can I talk to you?”
Bucky stopped digging through the bag, blinking at you in surprise at your sudden burst. “Uh…well, we already are, so yes.” He chuckled, straightening and crossing his arms.
“I wanna have the conversation.”
He was left stunned, once again, his mouth opening and closing and his weight shifting form one foot to the other. “Like…that conversation? R-right now? Are you sure?”
You winced at her nervousness. “Sorry, sorry. I know it’s kinda…I just…I need to talk about it. Now.”
“Okay, okay. No, that’s fine. Don’t apologize. I just wasn’t expecting it.” Bucky cleared his throat. “That’s all.”
“Okay…” You breathed with a small nod. You opened your mouth, but Bucky shook his head.
“I hafta say this first; I didn’t mean to hurt you by telling you about Steve. I-I dunno what I thought. That it’d give you closure or something. I dunno. But it hurt you and I’m sorry. That wasn’t my intention.”
“Buck-”
“I was jealous. And guilty. And mad. And upset. I still am. Kinda. I guess. I dunno.” Bucky shook his head, running his hand through his hair and all you could do was gape at him as he started confessing to you. “Remember when we danced? In Madripoor? Doll…I don’t wanna dance ever again if it’s not with you. I fucking love you, Y/N. And not in the way we’ve said it before. I’m in love with you. I have been for-for a while now. I just - you were Steve’s. Steve loved you and you loved Steve and that was that and I was just the broken childhood best friend. But Steve left and he told me to take care of you and I didn’t know what to do with that, because you still love Steve. I think. I dunno. And I didn’t want to break what we have because you’re all I have left of him. You and that stupid shield. You’re my family. My home. I really meant it when I told you that. And that’s why I couldn’t tell you. Because it means too much for me to break what we have because I fell in love with my best friend’s girl. You know?”
He looked at you with pleading eyes, begging you to understand, but your brain was still trying to process what he was telling you.
“Oh God…” He groaned. “And now I just told you everything and you’re looking at me like that wasn’t what you wanted to hear and now I’m thinking this wasn’t the conversation you were thinking it was going to be-”
You were moving across the room before you could stop yourself, pulling him by the teal Henley you knew was comfortable having worn it to bed before when you visited him in New York, and slanting your lips over his.
His breathing hitched and he froze, and for a hot second you thought you made everything worse, but then he was kissing you back and his hands were on your hips and he was pulling you closer and it felt so fucking good you didn’t want to pull back for air.
“Shut up.” You muttered when you finally did pull back, your forehead against his, your eyes clenched shut. “Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.” You pulled back to look up at him, chests heaving against each other, your eyes prickling. “I’m not good at this. I’m not good at opening up. I only ever was good at it with Steve but Bucky…I’ve been doing it with you. This whole time and I didn’t even realize it until the conversation in the car.”
He reached up to cup your cheeks, wiping away the relieved tears that were falling from the weight you were finally getting off your chest.
“I love you. I’m in love with you. How could I not be? After all that time in Wakanda? I was never Steve’s girl, Bucky. I wanted to be. Dammit, did I wanna be, but I wasn’t. Not really. And he’s gone. But you’re not. And I don’t know why it took me so long to see that. That you’re the one in front of me. You’re the one who held me when I needed it once he left. You’re the one that would listen to my rambles that I’m just realizing was most of our phone calls. You’re not just the broken childhood friend. Don’t ever think that. I don’t pick up the phone at five in the morning after searching for a friend until two for just anyone. Even Steve’s best friend. And I’m such an idiot because I’ve been pushing away my feelings all these years for Steve and then I let them out with you at the wrong time, because I love Steve, Bucky, but I’m not in love with him. Not since I fell in love with you. And I know it doesn’t make sense, but Steve was the first one I cared about and that’s just how I feel and I can try to explain, but-”
His lips crashed onto yours again and you could taste the salty tears that were pouring down your cheeks, but you didn’t care. He was holding you and he was kissing you and it was even more perfect than you thought it’d be.
“You’re adorable when you ramble, but Jesus Christ, shuddup, doll.” He breathed. “Just tell me you love me. Tell me you love me just a fraction of how much I love you.”
You looked up into those ocean eyes, your own shining with earnest affection. “James Buchanan Barnes. I love you.”
“That’s all I need to know.” He murmured against your lips, holding your head against his, still wiping away your tears. It felt like with each one that fell, you felt lighter and lighter. Like they were taking away every fear and anxiety you held within you for the past six months.
“Alright! I was thinking we could just set up in these trees out here - holy shit! Is it done? Did you do it? Did I miss it? Has the conversation been had?”
Bucky chuckled as you giggled. “He has the worst timing.” The last two words were loud enough so Sam could hear, although the man heard the whole sentence.
“I’m gonna take that as a yes!” Sam cheered. “Halle-fucking-lujah! Finally! I was that close to locking you two in the attic.”
You shook your head at Sam’s personal celebration, drowning the rest of his words out as you looked at Bucky, who swept his thumb over your cheek catching one last tear, before pecking your lips.
“I finally get to kiss where I really want to.” He spoke softly, kissing your lips again. “Are you mine, doll?”
“I thought you said I’d always be your doll.” You answered cheekily. He grinned, kissing you again, pulling you against him by the hips.
“Okay, okay! That’s enough! We get it! You’re in love, finally, but I don’t wanna see it anymore! Now will you come help me with this shit?”
Bucky left one more lingering kiss on your lips, before you pushed him away reluctantly. “I’ll be right out.”
He nodded, moving over to help Sam carry the things he’d gathered.
You watched them put it all up from the window, gnawing on your cheek as you spun your phone in your hands. Coming to a decision, you tossed your phone in the duffle bag and walked out with it just as the boys finished.
“That was a quick phone call.” Sam raised an eyebrow.
You shrugged. “Didn’t call them. If they really need me, they’ll find me.”
Bucky grinned as you set the bag down under a tree, pecking your lips when you got close enough for him to grab by the waist to hold you against him. You rolled your eyes, shoving him playfully away and giggling as Sam let out a groan.
“Alright. Let’s see what you’ve got, Sammy.”
Bucky knew he needed the tough love talk Sam was giving him. He needed to hear it. Because, deep down, he had known it all along, he just refused to believe it. He tried doing it. Making amends. He knew he wasn’t though. And of course he knew immediately who that one person would be.
“And hey.” Bucky looked at him. “Let me tell you what. Telling my girl all that you told her? That’s a good start. I’m proud of you. Both of you. You’re already happier. I can see it in your eyes.”
Bucky chuckled, shaking his head as he thought of the gorgeous woman he nearly let slip through his fingers. He looked over to the house, where she was inside somewhere getting ready after suddenly deciding she needed to shower before they left. “I was stupid.”
“Yeah you were. You both were. I’m so relieved it’s over.” Sam nudged him. “Treat her right, Buck. She deserves it.”
“I know…I just hope I can.”
Sam shook his head. “Uh-uh. Don’t do that. You were just starting to use that cyborg brain of yours! She chose you. And before you say anything,” Sam cut Bucky off from speaking as he opened his mouth to object. “She chose you before Steve left. It just took her dumbass this long to realize it.”
Bucky nodded, a small smile on his face. “Yeah…okay…” Before he could say anything, the goddess herself stepped out, jogging over, looking absolutely amazing in her jeans and his t-shirt. “Good talk.”
Sam laughed at his quick ending of the conversation as she came up besides them. “Talking about me?” She asked cheekily, eyes shining. Bucky couldn’t help but take her under his arm, pecking her lips. Now that he could, he didn’t think he could stop. He was addicted to say the least.
Throwing Bucky a wink, Sam shrugged. “Just all the things that get on our nerves.”
“Ha ha.” She rolled her eyes. “We better get going.”
Bucky and Sam clapped hands. “You know Karli won’t quit.”
Bucky smiled. “Ah. You call us when you have a lead and we’ll be there.”
Y/N stepped forwards to give Sam a hug. “Anytime, Sammy.”
“Eh. Anytime between noon and midnight.” Bucky corrected. “Or noon and ten. Noon and five…you better just call at noon to be safe.”
Sam rolled his eyes. “Sure, sure.”
“Not necessarily as a team.” Bucky continued, grabbing the bag, getting Y/N back in her spot at his side under his arm.
“Nope!”
“We’re not that good.”
“Definitely not.”
“We’re professionals.”
“Definitely.”
“And, uh, we’re partners.”
Sam snapped, pointing at him. “Coworkers.”
“But we’re also a couple of guys with a couple mutual friends.”
“Ones now gone and you’re dating the other.”
“So we’re a couple of guys…with a badass to help out.”
“I can live with that.”
“Perfect.”
“Oh my God.” Y/N let out that laugh Bucky could never get enough of, shaking her head at the two of them. “You forgot dumbasses.”
Sam shook his head. “Nuh-uh. That’s your couple name.”
“Dumbasses?”
“Oh yeah.” The three of them came to a stop, Bucky and his girl - God he loved confirming it now - facing Sam. “Thanks for the help, guys. Meant a lot.”
Bucky patted his shoulder. “Of course.”
Y/N shot him a wink. “Until we meet again, Sammy.”
“Until then, cher.”
Bucky couldn’t stop his grin as she wrapped her arms around his waist, the two of them starting to walk to the main road where she already ordered an Uber. He looked down at her, kissing her lips for the nth time in the past hour.
“I wish I didn’t wait so long,” he told her seriously. “But I’d wait a thousands more centuries if it meant I get to call you mine.”
She giggled, shaking her head. “You’re such a sap! But…” she moved up to kiss him and his heart stuttered. He knew he had a goofy grin on when she pulled back, but he couldn’t help it. Especially when she laughed again. “I have to agree with you on that, Buckaroo.”
