BSD character’s reactions to screwing up they’re first date with you ( T_T)＼(^-^ )

Includes (most) the ada and port mafia <3

they’ll be pretty short since it’s a lot of characters :P (these exclude kyoka, Q and lemon thing aka kajii)

ADA

Fukuzawa 🗡

he’s probably slightly embarrassed but knowing him I’m sure it wasn’t too bad of a screw up

in fact it was probably a minor embarrassing moment that happened

it was silence for a split second before you two changed subjects from what happened

the date went pretty smoothly after that

the typa detail that gets left out when you talk about how the date went

Ranpo 👓

he’ll probably realize what’s gonna happen to ruin the date before it does, and either act to make sure it doesn’t

or smoothly addresses it and moves on

just cuz he’s like that 😎🤷‍♀️ (LOL)

but if something he doesn’t predict happens that crashes your date he’ll be pretty butt hurt

like? How come the worlds greatest detective didn’t see through this??

about how this sucks, what you’ll do next date, if you can do something last minute, that you both doubt you’ll try and go there for a date again and eventually to lighter topics like your hobbies n such

but yeah the date decently recovers

so when he realizes he (wasn’t his fault but he feels like it anyway) blew it, he’s utterly disappointed

he explains this is his first date and he wanted it to be special, even more so since it was with someone so cool like you

you hear him out, patting his back and giving him head pats to make him feel better

he even went out of his way to buy some new clothes 😞

you tell him it’s okay but he doesn’t feel that way

he asks if there’s anyway he can make it up to you and insists to buy you something before you go

he gets you something you picked out from a shop

although he’s practically hyperventilating over whether you’ll ghost him or not since he screwed it up

i doubt whatever store/place you were trying to go to was closed because he could just pay to open it back up

so it’s likely something embarrassing/awkward happened instead

or maybe if it’s not that drastic he’ll just apologize and try to direct the conversation else where

he isn’t sweating it or anything but the blunder was a pain for a hot second

either way he gets through it without letting it stop the entire date as a whole

is really embarrassed for 3 hot secs before she collects herself, sighing

Is blushing a bit when she asks if your upset and apologizes

she likely planned this date and told you not to worry about it because things like this wasn’t so supposed to happen

luckily for her she switched from her original idea to something else, so now that that hasn’t worked out she can go back

from there the date returns to smooth sailing

she spoils you and tries to get you forget as much as possible

she especially doesn’t want that getting on her reputation if you work at the PM as well

really irritated and swears under his breath while facing away from you

tries to make it look like he has it under control but he’s kinda freaking out

he liked you so much he really wanted this to go well :/

In the end he can’t think of anything and ends up muttering an apologizing before suggesting to go get some wine together

gets even more embarrassed if your not a drinker

he’s mentally slapping himself at this point

you probably end up pitching in and throwing an idea out there yourself, to which your idea works and the rest of the night is really fun! ;3

he keeps mentioning how good your idea was because it totally saved him

He’s happy when he walks through the door of his place, but when he remembers he blew it he gets upset again

spends the rest of the night drinking and thinking about it hoping you still wanna date him

Higuchi🔫

she is a lover who wants to do everything for the one she loves

so finally landing a date with you and blowing it is like her whole world exploding 💥

she becomes frantic in apologizing asking how to make it up to you

even if it was just a minor thing

if she can turn things around she still feels successful but makes precautions not to let that happen again

if not she’s totally bawling her eyes out to gin about it

she does her best to get on your good side before asking for another date

Tachihara⚔️

gets a bit flustered and sheepishly looks at you to see if it bothered you

his reaction depends on yours

if you start complaining about how much of a bummer it is he’ll start to feel bad

he tries to cheer you up and suggests to move to something else

but if your calm n cool about it so is he

he kinda shrugs one shoulder and says “so what now/wanna do somethin’ else instead?”

Akutagawa🧥

”err..guess the place is closed. I checked yesterday and they were open so this must be a fluke..”

he probably awkwardly stands there from there

if your response is too negative he’ll apologize for wasting your time and offer to drive you home

he will likely hesitate before asking you on a date again and makes sure everything is perfect this time

”curse the weretiger” (you hear him mumble this like it’s a swear word before you close the door to your house)

If you don’t mind as much you two will probably just end up chatting somewhere

it ends with him apologizing anyway

(say you enjoyed talking with him and you might be met with wide eyes and a little blush on his face <3)

Gin☺️

blushes, stammers and apologizes like crazy

she feels really ashamed since this is your first date and something went wrong

she covers her mouth with her hand to sort of “hide” out of embarrassment

she even took off her mask and dressed up all cute for you!! :(

luckily! She brought you a gift !

you ended up really liking it and you hugged her for it, which made her feel a bit better

you ask to return the favor by buying her something too

she insists you don’t have to but you end up doing it anyway

you wrap your arm around each other’s waist while you walk which was pretty romantic :)

you kiss her atop her forehead before separating to head home

(if your not in the PM or can’t physically hand yourself—she probably follows you home from a distance, BUT NOT IN A CREEPY WAY. In a ‘she wants to know your home safe’ loving way)

she squeals when she gets home and tells ryuunosuke about the highs and lows of your date 💗

yes as I said pretty short but these were mostly a trial run for fun :)

"My personal headcannon is that everyone in the ada has physical/mental illnesses almost like in Winnie the Pooh."

Atsushi has: autism, anxiety and DID.

Kunikida: OCD

Ranpo: Autism, eating disorder

Dazai: Bipolar disorder, Depression

Kenji: ADHD

Yosano: PTSD

Kyouka: PTSD

Fukuzawa: Cane user

Rating bsd characters (ADA) based on how likely I think they are to fall asleep on you

(This is mainly while you're in work at the agency, but if you want to think of it as anywhere, do so as you will)

Atsushi Nakajima

5/10

-He gets a little stressed sometimes, with all that fighting it's definitely tiring

-He rests on your shoulder (next to you) and slowly falls asleep

-I think he'd be a pretty heavy sleeper, so if you need to move him, he won't wake up from it

-Stays asleep for around thirty minutes to an hour before waking up

-Barely moves in his sleep, but occasionally shifts his head slightly

-I don't think he'd really make any noise, but he would quietly mumble a few things in his sleep sometimes

Overall he is very easy to deal with when he is asleep, and he doesn't get too many nightmares unless the day has been horrible for him.

Dazai Osamu

7/10

-Anything to get out of work tbh

-Half of the time he's just pretending to sleep

-He just wants the comfort as well as not doing work

-Doesn't really speak the entire time, and his head is resting on your chest (closer to your collarbone)

-Suddenly this is normal behavior for him

-He is a very light sleeper, but depending on how tired he really is, he could be more of a heavy sleeper

-When he is actually asleep instead of pretending, he unfortunately gets a lot of nightmares

-If the nightmares continue on, he may start to silently cry in his sleep

-Just wake him up if he does start crying, or if you think he's having a nightmare

-He speaks sometimes when having nightmares, but if they get worse, he may scream or yell instead of just speaking

-Hugs you tighter in his sleep without realizing, also buries his head into you without realizing as well

-Just hug him back, he'll do a little better, asleep or not

He is not horrible when asleep, unless he gets nightmares, but other than that he just clings to you as if he's afraid of letting you go.

Kunikida Doppo

2/10

-Considers it unprofessional to do so in the workplace

-He does wear himself out sometimes, so he can get slightly more tired than usual

-When you notice he's tired, he tries to say he's fine, but he just isn't the best at lying

-Sighs, and then hugs you, while resting his head on your shoulder (facing towards you)

-Slowly but surely falls asleep

-This rarely happens, and multiple people (mainly Yosano and Dazai) like to tease him for it when it does actually happen

-Wakes up and immediately looks at his ideals to make sure his schedule wasn't messed up

-It wasn't, and he apologized for sleeping on you

-He then gets up to continue his work at the desk

-Internally screaming and madly blushing because of the interaction though

-Slowly calms down, but Dazai and Yosano start teasing him, and now he's more red

-Save this man from Dazai and Yosano I beg

Decent sleeper, but panics slightly when he wakes up, because he didn't realize he was falling asleep in the first place. He ever so slightly clings onto you in a hug while sleeping as well.

Ranpo Edogawa

-He didn't have any cases left at the moment, and felt bored

-So naturally he goes up to where you are, and rests his head on your lap

-He gets cozy, and falls asleep

-Is a very heavy sleeper, so good luck trying to wake him up if you need to

-Doesn't speak in his sleep, but does rest comfortably

-All you can really hear from him is his breathing

-Only wakes up when Kunikida has to yell at him to wake up and get back to work

Very heavy sleeper, but is still very calm and nothing really disturbs his sleep (unless a yelling Kunikida appears)

Yosano Akiko (Potentially OOC)

5/10

-Being a doctor is hard sometimes, honestly

-Although she mainly goes shopping after a stressful time, sometimes she takes a break in different ways

-That is, by resting her head on your lap, and closing her eyes, sighing calmly (occasionally, she sleeps on your chest, with her head turned to listen to your heartbeat, which calms her)

-She does sometimes request for you to run your hands through her hair

-She's a pretty light sleeper, but doesn't wake up extremely fast

-The only thing that could disturb her sleep is the time she was 11, with Mori there

-She wakes up slightly stressed after those dreams

-If you play with her hair, and talk to her quietly about how she's okay, and you're right there with her, she'll calm down slowly

-Will ask to just hold you hand, while she starts to inspect for injuries anywhere on your arm and hand

-It's oddly therapeutic for her to check for injuries on people, mainly ones she cares for though

While her past can haunt her dreams sometimes, it's actually somewhat rare, but you making an effort to calm her down really helps her more.

Junichiro Tanizaki (Potentially OOC)

3/10

-He rests his head on your shoulder and falls asleep

-It doesn't take him too long to fall asleep

-He's a light sleeper, and sleeps comfortably

-He wakes up after around half an hour

-Quickly apologizes for accidentally falling asleep

-Him falling asleep on you happens very rarely

-He does move on with his day afterwards, but is still a bit embarrassed about what happened

-Que Naomi teasing him, because she witnessed the whole thing, and took pictures

-Covering face with sleeves, he can't handle the embarrassment of the pictures

He's okay while asleep, but he's very embarrassed about it when he wakes up. Maybe it's best to not mention it to him in the future

Naomi Tanizaki (Potentially OOC)

2/10

-I doubt she'd ever sleep on you, but just like her brother, she'd also fall asleep on your shoulder

-She'd also be hugging you while asleep (one arm around your shoulder, the other around your waist, she was facing towards you)

-She is a light sleeper, and is also sleeping comfortably

-She does not speak that much in her sleep, but she does mumble sometimes

-After waking up, she continues to stay hugging you

-She will get up to continue working eventually, but for now, she's hugging you

She's a peaceful sleeper, but does like to hug and cuddle you as she sleeps.

Fukuzawa Yukichi (Might be somewhat OOC)

2/10

-He's got a lot of work, and can not just fall asleep as the president of the ADA

-However, instead of sleeping on you at the agency, there are a few times he sleeps on you at home

-He rests his head on your lap, slowly falling asleep

-He is a light sleeper, and if you were to say his name once, he would immediately wake up

-He sleeps peacefully, and feels comforted by you just being there

-If you run your fingers through his hair, it just makes him all the more peaceful

-He doesn't speak in his sleep, and barely moves in his sleep as well

-Your presence comforts him as he sleeps, and he knows you're safe in that moment because you're there

He hasn't really fallen asleep while at the agency, but when it's just you two at your house, he's does sleep.

Kenji Miyazawa (Potentially OOC. Also, everything to do with him is platonic, the most you do is just hold hands and hug, I will be adding this to practically everything he's in, just for clarification. The meaning of platonic for those who don't know is, "of love or friendship, intimate and affectionate but not sexual.")

-He gets tired after eating, so it wouldn't be surprising for him to be sleeping next to you

-Falls asleep while resting his head on your shoulder

-He is a very heavy sleeper, yet sleeps comfortably and peacefully

-He barely moves, and mumbles very quietly

-Can sleep for hours at a time, so you might have to move him

-If you do move him, that's fine, he won't wake up anyways

-He wakes up after a long time, and will mention, with a smile on his face, that it was very comfortable to sleep on your shoulder

The heaviest sleeper on the list, and definitely would not wake up even if you were loud.

Kyoka Izumi (Might be OOC. Also, just like Kenji, this is strictly platonic, the most you guys do is hug and hold hands, nothing more. I will be mentioning this to practically every post with her, for clarification. Again, platonic means "of love or friendship, intimate and affectionate but not sexual" for those who don't know)

-I feel like she'd stay awake around everyone, unless she's really comfortable around them

-As she got closer to you, she felt herself slowly get tired around you, feeling a sense of comfort

-She would rest her head on your shoulder, and fall asleep quickly

-She's a light sleeper, makes no noise in her sleep, and doesn't move around either

-She finds it easier to sleep around you, but mainly when you two aren't near many people

-If there's multiple people around, she struggles to fall asleep, unless she's comfortable enough around them too

-When she wakes up she doesn't pay attention to what happened, she just gets back up and does her work

-She appreciates you letting her sleep on your shoulder

Sometimes Demon Snow likes to be next to Kyoka as she sleeps, so don't freak out if you just see Demon Snow there.

I feel like the ADA goes on little outings instead of work sometimes. Like if they don’t have a lot of work to do then they’ll all go shopping or out to eat or something. They would probably take turns picking what they do, like Kyouka would probably pick something new every time that she’s never done, Ranpo would choose a candy store, Kenji would want to go to a zoo etc etc.

dazai, kunikida, ranpo, kenji, atsushi missing quite a few, they'll be in the next part

wc : approximately 800

a/n : i'll get to whoever requested a fic soon enough but if you are reading this i'd prefer if you actually specified who you want the pairing to be of instead of giving me the general idea. thanks

this also mentions a few general headcanons, rather than ones focused on appearance

some have more than others because i have favourities

content warnings : self mutilation, scars and past suicide attempts

Osamu Dazai

dazai has moles all across his body—especially the inner skin between his fingers. he has a few moles along his neck and collarbone, and several down his stomach, but most are hidden due to his bandages.

on the off chance he does have his bandages off, his arms are covered in short scars, especially his left. although most are healed, he likes to keep them hidden in case of them being seen as a vulnerability point.

dazai's skin is relatively tan due to longer missions outside, despite never wanting to go on them. his skin is naturally pale but it easily tans, yet is never really sunburned, and you can see the difference when he replaces his bandages because of the thick tan line from his neck down.

his clothing is usually never ironed, if it is, he's bribed someone else into doing it for him. his entire wardrobe is full of crinkled shirts and jeans no matter how much need there is for fancy wear.

dazai doesn't grow that much body hair. sometimes he'll grow stubble or the off leg hair, but he's never found himself needing to actually shave.

he has noose scars around his throat from previous suicide attempts, however he also uses bandages to cover them when he needs to.

his teeth are straight because he had braces when he was in the mafia due to them growing unevenly, but they aren't perfectly white like veneers, they have a yellow tint on them.

contrary to popular belief, he's only around 5'9 to 5'10.

dazai has heavy dark circles under his eyes due to a lack of sleep.

Doppo Kunikida

kunikida is well organized and kept to his notebook, line for line. in contrast to osamu, he irons his clothing, especially his shirts, far more often.

he has well calloused hands due to working (and guitar lessons from when he was younger) and often his fingertips get caught on his notebook paper when he's turning pages.

kunikida has stray gray hairs along his hairline that he plucks out because teaching kids had got to be that stressful; dazai usually made fun of him for it before he grew a few himself, but just ended up mocking him with how he could pull it off better

he always walks into work with lines of pen ink all over himself, from either rushing writing or even just exploded pens.

he has a mole just under the right side of his lip.

kunikida's lips chap quite easily and he has to carry around lipbalm because dazai told him that licking them too much would erase the whole top layer.

he has a visible nose bump.

Ranpo Edogawa

due to his sweet tooth, ranpo has a minimum of three cavities. of course, he always saw them coming, but he never prepares dental appointments unless they actually start to annoy or pain him.

he's rather short, as seen compared to the other members of the agency, and sometimes uses height extenders hidden in his shoes with the excuse they're for something medical.

ranpo has a few acne scars around his cheeks from when he was a kid because of his diet and need to always get rid of them.

his hair is really soft, the front more so than the back because he never washes it out properly.

he's actually on the lower scale of vision impairment, and it's often why he doesn't open his eyes without his glasses.

Kenji Miyazawa

kenji is COVERED in freckles. from head to toe, there are freckles throughout his body: across the bridge of his nose, his neck, his arms, you name it.

he has unnecessarily long eyelashes.

kenji bites his fingernails, so the top parts of his nails are completely disintergrated but it took a while because of how strong they actually are. i like to think that his bones, nails, et cetera are all relatively strong because of his ability.

he blushes very easily.

sometimes kenji gets random sticks of straw stuck in his hair because of his hat and he never notices them because of their matching colour until after work or unless someone points them out to him.

Atsushi Nakajima

atsushi has cat scratches all over his body, mostly from partial transforming when he's asleep. yosano is usually always pouncing on him because of it—no pun intended.

a lot of his clothes are covered in white cat hair so he always walks into the office covered in it when he doesn't get the chance to wash it or go to the laundromat. (and when he does, he's always questioned about what breed of cat he owns)

atsushi's eyebrows are kind of overgrown because of his mass amount of hair and he was never really taught to shave when in the orphanage for obvious reasons. his hair also grows VERY quickly.

he has a small amount of visible freckles over the bridge of his nose.

Multiple members of the agency stay on standby throughout their day and even at night. Here’s how I think it’d work and who’d willingly put themselves on standby.

(This is a headcanon, not canon information.)

Atsushi stays on standby and can be called throughout any point of the day, even when asleep. Almost every member of the agency understands not to call him through his work number unless it’s an emergency or during work hours. He agreed to stay on standby because he needed the extra money when he first started working at the agency and forgot to ever resign from that.

Ranpo stays on standby because nobody has the guts to call him unless its really important and if it’s really urgent then it’s more likely to be interesting. He also feels somewhat responsible for the agency and wants to make sure everyone knows to call him if something is genuinely wrong.

Yosano stays on standby because if she doesn’t someone could die. Most members of the agency are not stupid enough to piss her off by getting gravely injured late at night so she doesn’t get called in very often. Of course she also gets a break from being on standby quite frequently because being responsible for the lives of others is a very exhausting task and Fukuzawa tries to pay as much attention to her mental health as he can.

Junichiro is not on standby, he agreed to be on standby when he joined the agency for the same reasons Atsushi did but is usually a bigger problem than any threat worth calling him for if you wake him up so he was forcibly removed from standby by Fukuzawa himself after Fukuzawa called him past midnight for a rather important reason and received seven death threats in the span of twenty four seconds.

Kenji is technically on standby but everyone only calls his personal number because they feel bad waking him up.

Kyoka tried to volunteer to be on standby but Atsushi was so vehemently against it that it concerned the other members of the agency and nobody was willing to unpack that can of worms.

Fukuzawa is technically on standby??? Nobody calls him at all but he’s technically on standby. Once asked kunikida why nobody called him after like three members of the agency were called out and Kunikida nearly pissed his pants. (Ranpo later told him that most members of the agency are intimidated by him and he tried to fix it by hanging out in the main office but he just scared them all a bit more.)

Armed Detective Agency

Fukuzawa Yukichi : look at me. yes? this bitch is depressed as fuck. a single dad of the whole agency. I think he is just a lone wolf and just generally does not like talking to people and absolutely hates public speaking but he, like, *can* speak in public if needed yk??

Ranpo Edogawa : ohh my god. oh my god. he REEKS of autism and I refuse to hear otherwise. this mf is autistic as FUCK. 10/10 would listen to him tell me his favorite snack brands and true crime moments. (Ranpo also most likely has adhd but its more on the attention deficit side)

Akiko Yosano : okay. hear me out. I actually think Yosano is neurotypical but she is THE autism friend magnet. she's besties with Ranpo and she gets along with everyone in the agency and i love her sm. my girl is just fucking deranged and that makes me love her even more

Doppo Kunikida : this mf plans his days out carefully, gets mad when his schedule is ruined and when things don't go his way. HE. HE ALSO REEKS OF AUTISM. he is also probably depressed after losing Rokuzo (the kid from Dazai's entrance exam)

Osamu Dazai : this guy is literally. all of the above. adhd? yes, autism? fuck yeah. DEPRESSION? DEFINITELY. VERY DERANGED? HMMM. SIDE EYES HIS BACKSTORY. YEAH, I THINK SO. I think you get my point, Dazai, ilysm but like you are so deranged

Junichiro Tanizaki : okay so like i think he just has adhd or autism i honestly can't decide. shamefully i do not know a lot about him :( okay but he is little just a little bit deranged too

Kenji Miyazawa : okay. MAJOR adhd vibes, and like autism too but not as intense as adhd. he has like. hyperactive side of adhd and i love kenji so much he is my son (he is a little bit deranged too)

Atsushi Nakajima : oh he has ADHD and depression for sure. depressed from the orphanage and just went years of being undiagnosed (and he is still undiagnosed) but a lot of signs of adhd are coming through for him when it's just a casual time in the agency!!! (pts for Kunikida for trying his best to schedule an appointment for Atsushi, but he can't seem to find time)

Izumi Kyoka : SHE IS AUTISTIC AS FUCK.SHE IS UP THERE WITH RANPO, SHE REEKS OF AUTISM AND I LOVE HER FOR IT SHE IS ALSO MY CHILD. i think she's slightly Kenji's opposite, only mild adhd but she is also a little deranged just cause she grew up in the mafia somewhat.

Atsushi Nakajima

(I don't really know that much about him like I do with other characters so this is probably not going to be good)

0/10

-I doubt he would ever cheat bc he's been through enough, and you probably helped him with his self loathing

-If he did ever cheat though, he would have extreme guilt, and would tell you right away, apologizing multiple times for what he did

-He's a good person, and I'm sure Atsushi would never cheat, if anything, he would hate himself more if he did

-His eyes are on you, and you only, if you're dating him

9/10 bf, he has his flaws, but he treats you well

Dazai Osamu

-I love Dazai don't get me wrong, it's just the amount of women that are head over heels for him, makes me feel ify

-He seems like the type of person to probably go to a bar or something, and flirt with a woman, and that leads to other things, one after another

-Would he tell you immediately? I don't think so. I think he would probably tell you after you got suspicious, or after you found out

-His score doesn't mean he will cheat, and that doesn't mean he doesn't love you, I just don't really trust him, and neither should you

-Though, there could be a chance he would manipulate you into going back with him, that is, if he really didn't want you leaving

Kunikida Doppo

-He'd ask if you could reconsider that, because he still loves you, but once your decision was final, he'd understand, and break things off with you

-If you asked for him to leave that person alone and not talk to them, he'd be okay with that, and would do as you ask

-He would 100% tell you immediately if he did act upon his feelings and cheat, and he would apologize multiple times

-He apologized multiple times, and didn't know if he would be forgiven, he told you he loved you, and he didn't know it was wrong

-Never does that ever again, and is 20x more aware of what's going on when Naomi is around him, to make sure he doesn't mess up again

Naomi Tanizaki

(Yet again, this may be OOC or bad, because I don't know that much about her like I do with other characters)

-After finally stopping because she realized she was in the wrong, she did apologize, mainly expecting forgiveness, because she seems to have a control on Junichiro, so she probably expects you to be the same way

-If I'm being honest, I don't really like Naomi that much, but I'm sure she would still love you, and would calm down her behaviors with her brother (Junichiro can finally breath now that she's not engulfing him in hugs, he's so thankful)
