Agreed 100%, his system is small but very dysfunctional. This man is not thriving with the memory loss or the one very young alter that sometimes fronts during work hours and can somehow complete his work better than anyone else in the system.

I think it would be very funny if Oda knew Dazai was a system and Dazai was polyfragmented so he sits there listening to Dazai talk about his 200+ alters and he sits there like "thank God I only have to deal with five alters" and gets so stressed thinking about how someone else can cope with 200+ alters

Bonus points: if he meets Chuuya and casually asks about alter count, and Chuuya responds with "Dunno like... 1000? Why?" And Ango nearly faints thinking about it

Funny story time: We have introjects of some of our comfort objects (for example a build a bear toy who now takes the form of a 6 foot bear called Rainbow) amongst some anime figures.

What I'm trying to say is that this can 100% happen and that I think Chuuya's hat (which is a comfort objects to him) could easily be in his system.

CHUUYA SYSTEM:

I have a hot take and that is that Dazai knows how to make kandi. Those big spinny cuffs? He can make them with ease.

So when Chuuya asks him about identifiers he Knows what to use and here to get different colored beads. Letter beads? Shaped beads? Dazai has him covered.

They make the bracelets together, but as you say Dazai can't read the writing to well and calls them the color(s) on the bracelets.

SYSTEM SIGMA I have this pet headcanon right, that sigma was created as a "human." Like.. an "average human" a "normal guy." But you see. You see grace. Grabs your shoulders. What's an average guy? What's a normal guy? That's entirely contextual, grace. The average human has so many different iterations it couldnt fit into just one person. I think sigma has hundreds of people in that head and they're all just like a normal guy. Together they make up the Normalest guy. I think they all basically share the same name (sigma) and arent actually super differentiated from one another. Like they have a hard time telling themselves apart, and also dont neccesarily care to. They all collectively have a very strong very constant presence though. It's rare that only one person is fronting. Despite this, it took them a long time to figure out they're plural because their different identities just feel like... the Book. They just feel like the Book. And their ability. Sure, sigma has tons of sets of memories they never experienced, and fragments of feelings that dont belong to them, but of course they do. The Book formed them fully made. This included a lot imprints of experiences. They were born with knowledge they never learned, and memories they never lived, and their entire ability revolves around collecting pieces of people. The extreme trauma and also use of their ability probably furthered fragmentation. All of this combined I think they have like... huge memory and identity issues. It's just confusing. They have a hard time differentiating lived experience from experiences they picked up second hand from their ability and then a hard yike differentiating any of that from memories given to them from the book and then AGAIN even MORE difficulty differentiating from (new) sets of system memories. and in the first place, the line between book-influenced memories and system made memories is very thin and sometimes nonexistant, because the fact they're a system is in itself partly a translation of the Books wording when it made them. You actually see hints of this headcanon in lamb. I had a lot of fun there.
