her older sister and other half really! she and lisa first met when she joined yg and have been close ever since. lisa was the first to welcome suki to the company and show her the ropes! the two are quite literally the same person it’s almost scary. they mostly bonded after suki was added to the original blackpink line up and would work with lisa to choreograph the group dances for the monthly evaluations. suki continues to support lisa (and all of blackpink) in their career and enjoys publicly showing her love the girls!

they met one time through lisa and have been stuck together like white on rice! when i say always together….i MEAN IT like it’s almost crazy!? the two are a little different from each other but bond so well and they’ve been able to manage a beautiful friendship. the type of friends that stay up until 5am and then randomly decide to go on some spontaneous adventure that may or may not end both of their careers. suki also fancied herself another shopaholic which she loves! also who decided it was a good idea to let two extroverts go clubbing?

suki’s mentor and….second mom??? way back when suki was new, and having trouble with her self confidence when rapping, CL reached out to her and gave her some lessons and suki totally pissed herself because she was a big fan of not only CL but 2ne1 in general. chaelin sorta took suki under her wing and protected her, taught her about the industry and really helped find and create her on stage persona. suki probably appreciates CL the most out of anyone she’s met or bonded with in korea (besides the kids ofc). she likes to call CL her second mom cause she’ll often call suki to ask if she’s okay, if she needs anything and just bombard her with wellness questions but that has to be what she likes most about the woman; how much she cares about her.

one of the few male friends she has and somehow he’s the one closest to her!? honestly if you asked her she could not tell you how they met she would just tell you she regrets every decision that led up to it (she’s just trying to hide the fact she had a crush on him for like 6 months and just repressed it until it went away). very loud and chaotic when together, not many intellectual conversations are shared between the two just. yelling. and. bickering. but she wouldn’t have it any other way honestly. loves the fact that she can be her honest loud, potty mouth, abrasive, self around him and he’ll just reciprocate her energy. aquarius duo 🤪

You never thought that this is what it feels like to be in an actual mafia group, also you still couldn't really believe it.

After changing, you quickly ran down the stairs and joined the guys for dinner.

I need to admit, that Y/n looks cute in the clothes she borrowed from some of us a few days ago, but she does need her own clothes soon. "Taeyong, don't you think she needs her own clothes soon?" I asked him. "Well, we wanted to go shopping tomorrow anyway since the fridge is empty. And I don't think it fills up by itself." He replied. "Y'all know what that means?" Johnny asked rethorically into the group, earning a concerned gasze from Y/n. "Don't say it..." "Time for Johnny's Fashion Evaluation, guys!" He answered his own question. "So Y/N, do you prefer pants or skirts, light or dark colors, high heels or sneakers, -" He continued, but Yuta stepped into the scene. "Before he brabbles on and on now, the two of you can talk that out tomorrow, yeah?"

NCT’s Johnny Suh on His Debut at Met Gala 2022 & Members’ Reactions

"I'm sure that I'll look back on this day like years from now and just still remember every single moment of it."

NCT’s Johnny Suh was a new face at Met Gala 2022, but he certainly turned heads. The Chicago-born K-pop idol flew in from Seoul, South Korea, to attend the Costume Institute Gala in New York City with designer Peter Do.

Since debuting, Johnny has established a distinguished style profile both on and off the stage. With every comeback, we see Johnny in a new look, and in between, we see his personal style shine on his vlog series Johnny’s Communication Center (especially through his fashion evaluations).

It seems Johnny’s style also caught the eye of Peter Do, the Vietnamese-born, NYC-based designer behind many of your favorite runway and celebrity looks. Known for modern, imaginative suits, the LVMH Graduates Prize recipient designed a three-piece set in black satin. Paired with statement boots and a sleek hairstyle, the look marked Johnny’s first Met Gala.

To celebrate his Met Gala debut, Johnny told Teen Vogue all about the experience, from working with Peter Do to finally stepping on the red carpet.

On working with Peter Do

I feel like for a long time, our teams were trying to get us together, but we were looking for the right occasion, and I guess the Met Gala was the soonest and the best place to showcase Peter Do and me.

Everything happened really quickly. He gave me the sketch a week before, and he started making it then. I really look into details of clothing and I think Peter Do really emphasizes that. I feel like it was definitely a collaboration between the theme of the Met Gala and Peter Do's signature look.

And as soon as I came in from Korea, we went to get fitted and everything was just really quick. Everything was really smooth. Thankfully, all the clothes fit right as soon as I got here. So there were no problems and everything was just perfect.

On choosing accessories and hair color

There were a lot of options, but we came to one earring because of how simple it was and because of how it really kind of stood out.

I think there was a lot of talk about [my hair color] before I came from Korea. We wanted to go with something more slick. Something that showed off a little cooler side of myself.

On the song that best fits the look

Our song “Kick It” would be a great song to match it to because I was feeling confident in that outfit yesterday.

On walking the red carpet

I have been on many red carpets. I think this was the first time that I was really nervous because I didn't know what was going to happen in there. I heard that my team couldn't come inside, so that got me really worried. And there were a lot of people I've never met before that I really have wanted to meet. It was just so many new things at once. That's what made it kind of nerve-racking.

It was actually great. It was less stressful than I thought it would be. There were a lot of people there to help me. I had wonderful people standing with me in line and everybody was really sweet. It wasn't really hard to have a conversation with anybody.

We had Eva Chen with us because Peter Do also dressed her, and she was very sweet and kind and because of her — she knew everybody — people came up to talk, and I got to meet everybody.

By the time I was on the red carpet, it was just like, “Finally it's my turn.” There's a very long line and we were standing in the line for about 40 minutes. I was just like, "Finally I could get on. I just want to go inside now," but I tried not to show [it]. [I] just tried to look cool.

On the after-party look

I think I was supposed to be a little more loose, because we were kind of on the tighter side during [the] Gala look. So we wanted to show off a little more of a free side of me. Everything was really oversized.

“Regular” would be the song. Because that's how I dress on the regular.

On remembering the experience

I think it's actually extraordinary, to say the least. I never knew this would ever happen. And now that it did, it's still kind of unbelievable. I'm sure that I'll look back on this day like years from now and just still remember every single moment of it. That's how impactful it was to me, and it was also the first Met Gala of my life.

On how the members reacted to his Met Gala debut

Everybody was just like, “Oh dude, you were so hot.” And I was like, “I can’t wait to see you guys when I get back to Korea. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!"

Mel Ottenberg: Ok, I’m with my two favorite sisters at the Gucci show.

Chuck Grant: I’m with my favorite daddy.

Ottenberg: [Laughs] What are your names?

Lana Del Rey: Chuck and Lana.

Ottenberg: We’re at the castle right now. What did you guys think about the Gucci show?

Lana Del Rey: Everything.

Ottenberg: It was everything.

Lana Del Rey: You don’t know what to expect, and then you get it all. ‘20s, ‘40s, contemporary.

Ottenberg: ‘80s—lots of ‘80s. Lana does not want to talk about the ‘80s right now—

Lana Del Rey: I know.

Ottenberg: —But I do. I wanna talk about it, Lana.

Lana Del Rey: It reminds me of when Johnny wanted to talk about the ‘70s, and I said, “Okay, okay, okay. Hold on. We’re doing ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s.” And then all of a sudden, we moved to Laurel Canyon and it was straight ‘70s for years. ‘80s are amazing. What would you call Chuck’s look?

Ottenberg: I think this is giving ‘20s.

Lana Del Rey: Right, with the velvet ruffle.

Ottenberg: And then the shoe is ‘40s. You’re right. But your outfit—well, this isn’t part of the show—but the dress is ‘20s, the shoes are ‘40s…

Lana Del Rey: Right, so ‘20s and now. I feel so much gratitude to be able to enjoy fashion again. This show reminded me of the early days when YSL was starting, when Ferragamo began, when Gucci began, it was a lifestyle. It seemed like for a few years, we couldn’t even enjoy the lifestyle. But now—I mean, there are so many amazing people in attendance tonight, and I feel like fashion can actually be cheerful again. That was always my thing—can we bring the joy back into it? This show wasn’t just about joy. It was something we’ve never seen before.

Ottenberg: It was sensual, it was beautiful. It was a real effort—we’re in a medieval castle in the middle of nowhere.

Lana Del Rey: I think it’s the effort that I appreciated. It kind of makes you actually evaluate where you’re putting effort into your life.

Chuck Grant: I was thinking that too. They fully carried us through this entire experience.

Lana Del Rey: The tech crew, every gaffer was like, holding each other afterwards.

Chuck Grant: And the cauldron! We thought it was real.

Ottenberg: Yeah the cauldron was amazing.

Chuck Grant: It’s fake!

Ottenberg: Oh, it’s fake, it’s hot. Also, you guys look amazing. Lana I’ve styled before, but off-duty, you guys are two of the chillest California girls I know, and you’re really turned out for this thing, huh.

Chuck Grant & Lana Del Rey: Yeah.

Ottenberg: Okay, any favorites—a favorite accessory? We love the pearls. The long pearls, the choker pearls.

Lana Del Rey: I liked the double pearls.

Chuck Grant: The fishnets.

Ottenberg: I liked the strawberry.

Lana Del Rey: I think fishtails—we’ve been talking about fishtails—

Ottenberg: Yeah I’m done with a train, I’m down with a fishtail.

Lana Del Rey: I appreciated the sheer trains, because you can’t have a show without it.

Ottenberg: That train was cool. It was like a naked, invisible dress.

Lana Del Rey: I’m trading trains for beading with nudity.

Ottenberg: You’re also into boobs tonight. You told me last night that we were getting cleavage, and I’m really into it. I think the cleave is back.

Hollywood Heard Wrong: Depp v. Heard

The world watched with bated breath as veteran actor and former Hollywood golden boy, Johnny Depp, finally took the stand in the near decade-long battle with ex-wife, Amber Heard. In the defamation case’s stunning conclusion, Amber Heard’s false accounts of abuse were exposed, debunked, and the court awarded Depp damages amounting to $15 million; $10 million for defamation and $5 million for punitive damages with the jury’s formalized acknowledgment of a disregard for the truth and malicious intent on her part. Heard was awarded a measly $2 million in comparison for statements made by an attorney previously employed by Depp.

While social media is flooded with support for Depp, the mainstream media continues to back Heard with their usual penchant for ignoring the truth to make a buck. What celebrity news outlets are decrying as the greatest blow to women is actually a last-ditch attempt to double down and cover up the fact they bet on the wrong horse. In fact, the continuous spinning of the truth to fit a desired narrative reveals egregious partiality that undermines the entire fight for equality as they claim it to be. The outcry to believe women in movements like #MeToo was intended to publicly advocate for those silenced in a social structure steeped in internalized misogyny and cut monsters like Harvey Weinstein at the knees; not give women license to blatantly disregard the facts that women can lie, women can be abusers, and people can be victimized by their partners regardless of gender.

Let’s examine the case according to the facts, rather than the sentiments of the media. The former A-list couple filed for divorce in 2016, about a year after their 2015 wedding on Depp’s private island. When it became clear Heard would not be receiving her desired settlement amounting to approximately half of Depp’s net worth, including ownership of luxury vehicles and penthouses with all expenses paid in perpetuity, Heard sent Depp a letter threatening to publicly accuse him of domestic violence if he did not comply with her demands. When Depp’s attorneys dismissed Heard’s threats and moved forward with the divorce proceedings, Heard filed a restraining order with a bruise on her cheek and paparazzi on standby for a photo op—all while Depp was abroad on a music tour. The infamous op-ed that triggered the ensuing legal battles followed shortly after with Depp’s career effectively ruined overnight.

To summarize the case as it unfolded in countless testimonies, not only was Depp not the violent psychopath Heard claimed, but Depp was the victim of emotional, psychological, and physical abuse at the hands of Heard. As witness after witness took the stand in support of Depp recounting the hell Depp endured throughout his relationship, Heard was caught on camera smirking, snickering, and staring down Depp across the courtroom in true abuser fashion. Depp kept his eyes firmly ahead, honoring a promise that Heard would “never see [his] eyes again” made in one of the many tape recordings presented as evidence in which Heard goads, gaslights, and ridicules the man who supposedly made her fear for her life.

In her response to the verdict on Twitter and Instagram, Heard claims she had a “mountain of evidence” against Depp that was ignored by a corrupted jury and unfeeling judge. That ‘mountain’ amounted to little more than a molehill. Pictures depicting her alleged bruises, cuts, and scars were proven to not match the dates or injuries from her recollections of physical abuse. Medical records and psychiatric evaluations, or the lack thereof, further undermined Heard’s case as her tall tales unraveled before the jury when put to the test on the stand.

It should also be noted that witnesses and supporters were in remarkably short supply for Heard, despite what mainstream media would have you believe. Most of Heard’s witnesses were paid experts with dubious methods of gathering information that did not hold up against the professional standards of their respective fields. Despite their provenly questionable ethics, Heard’s legal team should be congratulated for staying afloat as well as they did with so little to work with.

Those truly concerned for justice understand the verdict for the victory that it is with underrepresented male victims finally having a voice in the fight against domestic violence. Those truly concerned for women understand the revelation of Heard’s lies casts a pall over women seeking justice in her wake by providing fodder for misogynistic narratives leveled at female victims already in existence. Amber Heard exposed herself as what many powerful men faced with accusations use to dismiss real victims—a money-grabbing extortionist out to feed her ego, garner sympathy, and build a career atop the ruin of an innocent man.

The seemingly concerted effort across news stations, magazines, and celebrity commentators to protect a liar and abuser to fit a narrative only further oppresses real victims who deserve to be heard. Now it is time for Hollywood and the media to own up to their mistakes and embrace the moral principle of justice for all, not just for their select favorites.
