other folks have probably said it before, but I just connected the dots two days ago and decided that it's worth a post. Anyway, look at these sequence of events:
no wonder he was so adamant that Chuck would live after that head shot. he was the reason Chuck was there to begin with. feeling guilty, Ronald?
on one hand, he says to himself that he doesn't feel guilty. why would he? he wouldn't have known that Carver would be drunk and violent when he gave the order. he wouldn't have known that Grant would try and talk the private down (without a helmet or a riffle) instead of firing on sight. how could he have known? he couldn't have! these things just happen when you're in war, even if the war in Europe is supposed to be over. logically, this is not his fault.
on the other hand, though. there is a part of him (the part that he'd smothered for so long, but can't ignore now that he is slowly being reminded that he is, in fact, human, and decidedly not revenant) that is telling him that it most definitely is.
I'll ask again: feeling guilty, Ronald?

No but, let's talk about this scene
The first time I noticed Ron was holding Chuck's hand I was like 🤨 is he really that worried about him? I dunno if I missed something thru the previous 9 parts but, were they sharing a special bond or is just Ron being a cutie and giving support to his fellow sarge?
pls enlighten me
