6-12/100 days of mild productivity

right, first of all can we please ignore my awkward claw hand - nobody told me it would be so feckin difficult to hold up a notebook with one hand. studyblr, i love you, but you have betrayed me.

okay SO sorry for doing a lil’ disappearing act on you, but i’m on a mildly productive train to academic mediocrity and i am totally cool with that. plus i’ve been walking a lot.

not gonna give you bullet points for every day of the week because they’re pretty much all the same and not massively interesting.

i’m wondering about doing a weekly post rather than daily for 100 days of mild productivity. rest assured that all my days are at least mildly productive but, because of that, i don’t generally have studyblr tier photos every day. so, in true mild fashion, a weekly post seems more realistic.

100 Days of Productivity: Day 3/100

Today was so much fun! I reorganized my study space so I could focus a little bit better and shake things up, but the highlight was when my organism biology class went to the vernal pools in the woods to collect and look at some organisms! The ones in the picture are spotted newts (which I touched even though they have irritants on them, oops!) but we also saw some wood frogs, tadpoles, and even mallard ducks. I got to put on the waders and get knee-deep in the pond, and it was so nice. I love readings and problem sets, but the hands-on experience is my favorite part of college. Now I just need to finish my tectonics readings and start studying for my animal behavior midterm! <3

6. I don’t really have 1 specific song (mostly because I don’t actually listen to much belgian music that is in dutch lmao), but the genre it is probably from is Schlager

16. I don’t actually know a lot of stereotypes about Belgium tbh??? Other than the Beer/Chocolate/Fries, and the fact that people think we’re all bilingual bc our country is split down the middle but lmao, walloons can’t speak dutch, and most flemish people can barely handle saying hello in french (I myself can hold a conversation, my grammar just sucks and I keep forgetting words). Something true would be we’re more stoic I guess? Which is usually just a comparison made between us and people from the Netherlands lol bc the dutchies say anything and everything that comes to mind, we’re a bit more reserved lol

thank you, it’s been very... interesting lol. we’ve had a couple exposure scares because our housemate is essential (in food service) and her kid is in daycare, but so far everything has come back negative!

anyway i assume they ship internationally because it’s threadless, but again you’ll have to ask threadless! the masks are thru them! they are a print on demand site. shops thru threadless are not run by the artists.

?/100 days of mild productivity

it is wednesday my dudes

and we’re going to pretend like i did not fail miserably to update you on my mildly productive antics as part of 100do(m)p for the last, what, 3 weeks?

i am very sorry.

so, going forward, i’m going to proceed with weekly updates on 100domp and we are going to ignore the last 23 days.

gonna be real with you for a sec - i’m stressed. i have 3 weeks worth of backlogged lectures that i have not even looked at. i have multiple assignments where the only thing i know is the deadline. i’m at a bit of a critical moment here, because if i don’t make it back up now i’ve kinda fucked myself for the rest of the year.

the reason i can be more confident in saying i’ll update weekly is that i need to study - and if i study, i actually have some studyblr content. i have pretty much been doing everything other than studying, so all i have is pictures of my walks and some lab notes about thin section microscopy.

it’s week 5 in the big brother house and lily is being an idiot.

despite this, i am still actively encouraging mild productivity. i will never not do that. the whole point of being mildly productive is recognising that the small things, the enjoyable things, the day-to-day things are productive. taking care of yourself is productive. making progress is productive. the point of being mildly productive is that most of the time it’s enough. you are not breaking your streak of productive days by not doing 3 hours of studying that day or from taking a day off or by doing stuff you enjoy - those things are productive. those things are things that improve you and that’s the whole point of productivity, right?

the situation i’m in right now isn’t because i wasn’t balls to the walls studying. it isn’t because of my definitions of what is productive and what isn’t. i am going to continue to be mildly productive, i just need to be differently mildly productive and mildly productive in a few more ways - with a sprinkle of straight up spicy productivity to get through the backlog. i may have been overly selective with my mild productivity.

anyways, the usual bullet points but it’s with commas - went on a day-long field course ( ’twas wet), started lord of the flies, made a poster about pyrite for uni and ended up on an auction site for rocks and minerals and may or may not have some (very reasonably priced) minerals on the way, walked lots, nearly got trampled by horses in the woods a couple times, got said hello to by a pug, washed up, did laundry!!!!! for the first time since i moved in lol, made a hat for my pet rock, made a spreadsheet schedule, socially distanced socialised, etc.
