EVERYONE STRAP IN IVE NEVER BEEN MORE ON MY BULLSHIT THAN RN

Ahem. So to start this explanation of my hcs for cywhirlgate, you first must understand the basics.

FIRST OF ALL!! Every single person in this relationship is painfully, deeply, aggressively touchstarved and repressed. They have all been enjoying various aBSURDLY LENGTHY dry spells, though tailgate's sticks out as the longest(re: 6 MILLION YEARS IN A COMA STUCK IN A HOLE) and two of the three are fuckin... tsunderes about their emotions I guess. I obviously believe that being in a relationship with tailgate would kinda shake them out of that issue, but it'd probably take a while.

I feel like as well, though cyclonus and whirl obviously love each other, I think they'd both be the type to wrestle or fight each other as foreplay. I think they decide who tops between the two of them that way, while Tailgate just chills. I think that cyclonus and whirl are both switches(and so is tailgate as well) but they both demand that between each other they are ONLY tops and MUST be fought into submission(its their enrichment)

ADDITIONALLY!! You are right!! I hc Tailgate as the MAIN top of the relationship, partially because tailgate is widdle and neither whirl nor cyclonus want to injure his minibussy, but mainly because Tailgate is packin heat and he fucks like a monster.

I also think that Cyclonus would absolutely get picked on by both of his partners bc he's got the only mouth in the relationship-

SIDE NOTE- WHIRL HC! I think whirl has a drooling problem. I made this very clear in my chapter of survey says that features him- and also in my drawings I did for this post- but I think when whirl gets really happy or horny or overwhelmed he would start drooling bc his intake is in a weird spot and it can't hold excess oral solvent inside so good-

basically this.

ANYWAYSSS those are the basics, I think they're pretty vanilla as far as like actual legit BDSM stuff goes, but I do think they're the types to frag in the woods or a broom closet or something? I imagine on the rare occasions that tailgate bottoms there's some fun with large insertion and stuffffff..... I also think cyclonus bites when he gets the chance, and whirl would also bite if he had a mouth. I am so sorry that I've been gone for so long, I haven't posted any fan fiction in so many months and honestly I lost motivation 😭 so many ppl who were in this fandom and I created a community with, were slowly getting over this "phase" and it definitely affected me. But I'm going to try and get back into writing. I hope this will do good for now! • he absolutely loves doing hair together, I think he enjoys helping you do your hair in the morning and your make up. And he's even more greatful if you do his makeup. Then he can just relax while you help him.

• pookie has crunchy ass hair at the end of the day when he has to wash it out, don't make fun of him 😞

• getting piercings together is something he LOVES doing with you. Mainly early piercings because he only has a tongue and eyebrow piercing on his face.

• if you made music too, he would always go to your concerts and basically scream the entire time. Hopefully, you'd do the same for him.

• but if you two really want to date, you'll have to both try to learn English or each other language because there is going to be a hard language barrier between you two.

- I think one of the reasons he would've fallen in love with you is because you were upfront with him. He's not the type of guy to just go up and kiss someone so if you confess first, that would make things so much easier.

- obviously, you'd have to get along with Tom, Georg and Gustav. So if you don't, there's no way he'll go out with you, especially if you can't get along or hate Tom.

-Dates together consist of stuff you guys bought somewhere, or if you guys went to a fastfood restaurant.

• He doesn't have a lot of money yet so dates wouldn't exactly be high class, hopefully you don't mind 😉

-Since this is around the time Tokio Hotel is getting increasingly famous, there are fangirls around trying to flirt and ask out bill all the time and he has to shoo them off. He reminds you every night about how much he loves you and that those fan girls shouldn't bother you.

-he likes to spoon you a lot, and you two switch back n forth between him being the big spoon and the small spoon.

• I think he also really likes it when you lay on top of him, with your face in his neck and your legs wrapped around him. (This also works sitting upwards).

• cuddling with him is so nice too because he actually smells really good 😱

- I think he still gets very insecure sometimes because of the haters and people who harass the band because they don't like them and you reassure him a lot.

You've known him, Zandik, for as long as you can remember. From childhood to your teenage years. Together, you were chased out of your hometown. Him, for being a "madman", and you, for supporting and even encouraging his maniacal tendencies.

You only went to Sumeru Akademiya to be with him since the two of you were practically inseparable. You wanted to stay by his side and help him with his experiments. That, and also the fact he needed you.

He will never outright express it, but without you, it just doesn't feel right. Like he's missing something very important. You.

At first, it didn't really mean anything to him when you stayed, but the more you stuck around? The more he was internally grateful for you staying with him, even if he wasn't the best to be with.

And the more he has to keep you with him. No matter what. Luckily, you're not letting go of him either. The two of you were a perfect match. Both have loose screws in their heads and are madly in need of each other.

Perhaps for eternity.

So he does these things for you when the two of you shared a house back in Sumeru. It's always the little things about with him. Doing the laundry before you do it, organizing your files of research when you fall asleep on your desk in midst of trying to finish them, helping you with your studies, and many more.

Sometimes he'd add notes and corrections to your research papers whenever he happens to get his hands on them.

Zandik knew you were never engrossed in researching and would rather do things with his instructions instead, so he'd help you do your tasks if it meant keeping you close to him at all times.

He'd cook you breakfast if he wasn't too busy, but he'd always complain about he has to cook for the two of you every morning when you can always just cook for yourself, albeit later, and won't be eating with him.

Zandik is so subtle in showing his love for you, but you've been with him for so long, enough to be able to understand what his actions meant. But back when you were at the Akademiya? He was like a househusband. Hell, he even folded your clothes for you and you had to scold him to stop.

He merely rolled his eyes, saying; "Your room is a mess. How can you live in this filth?"

You're caressing my clothes like a weirdo, is what you wanted to say but you knew better and kept your mouth shut. After all, you'd often steal his clothes, just wrap them around you and inhale his scent.

Since he's the type to never really mingle around others, often intimidating them or just being plain rude enough for them to start avoiding him, you took the role of being the sociable one. Basically talking to others to get more information about anything and if it's of use, you'd tell Zandik.

And he greatly appreciates how helpful you are, especially when he abhors conversing with seemingly brainless, so-called scholars of Sumeru.

You're really the only person he could tolerate the most.

Always together. From walking the halls of the Akademiya, in classes, libraries, anywhere. Anyone who knows you would always see you together. It was always odd when the other is absent next to them.

Though, to others, sometimes it wasn't clear if the two of you were in a relationship or just really close friends. Mostly because the two of you never indulge in (obvious) PDA.

Scholars would see the two of you in the library, minding each other's business, and would occasionally speak to each other. Or the banter the two of you would share here in there, usually consisting of you crying to annoy Zandik and him telling you to shut up.

But they don't even notice the hand he'd always have at the small of your back. Or the way he'd ask you if you need any help with your research. Or the way he'd always bring you coffee when he buys one himself.

It's not like both of you hate PDA, it's more like you act naturally with each other. Sometimes you'd even hold onto his arm, to which he would give you a questioning look but would never push you away.

It's the subtly outsiders of your relationship won't ever get. And you both prefer it that way.

Back at the Akademiya, it was rather docile and tame beside the secret experiments behind closed doors. Being with him was both chaotic and calm.

One moment he'd be making a fuss about his experiments to you, willingly doing errands for him to quell his frustrations, then you'd be laying on the floor, dozing off to the sounds of pen scribbling on paper, a small huff of amusement coming from Zandik.

There were many things he'd do for you, and you share the same sentiment. So, if someone were to insult you? Make you uncomfortable or just look at you in the wrong way? Well, next time you'll be seeing them strapped on a metal bed.

"I'm honestly running out of ideas." You sighed, an arm covering your eyes while you sprawled yourself onto the cool floor. Papers surrounded your laid form, an utter mess in the middle of Zandik's way whilst he just wanted to go towards the kitchen to prepare dinner for both of you.

You were supposed to do your chores for tonight, but it's clear he'd also have to take up those tasks as well. Not when you're lamenting your own 'doom' if you've not passed your research on its due date. Not like you cared about graduating, you just thought it would be nice to achieve something while you're at Sumeru Akademiya. And now you're at risk of not graduating if you don't pass it in time.

Zandik always found humor in the way you'd fuss over your research though. You always said you've never cared, but it was clearly obvious you did. He knew you had other goals before you indulged yourself in his, so he never held you back on your own research and experiments while you were at the Akademiya. It's also nice to see you so dedicated to other things, especially if it's something you're very passionate about.

"Who knew this would be much more stressful than your research?" You grunted when Zandik nudged you to move aside with his foot, unceremoniously stepping on your thesis papers which earned a glare from you. "I hate the Akademiya..." You'd mumbler under your breath. He merely scoffed at your behavior, ignoring your existence once he finally arrived at the kitchen.

Knowing him, you sat up from the floor and made sure you were a meter away from the line drawn on the ground. Zandik put that there since, as it turns out, you're never to be trusted in the kitchen, with or without his supervision. He couldn't simply comprehend how the kitchen was up in flames when he turned away for a few moments, mistakenly trusting you to cook eggs. Eggs.

A hazard is what he calls you. So the kitchen became his territory in the house you shared. You're only allowed to enter after he's done cooking. If you somehow find yourself in the kitchen? Expect a flying spatula right at your face. You never really minded, you always preferred his cooking.

Plus, you get to see him roll up his sleeves and put on an apron.

When he was finished, he called out your name, inviting you into the kitchen. Once you entered, your stomach immediately let out a loud growl as your mouth watered at the sight of your favorite food. "Oh, is there an occasion?" You asked, taking a seat opposite of him, and immediately started digging in after you'd thanked him.

Zandik raised a brow at you, sipping on his cup of tea before saying; "No, nothing of sorts." You just let out a thoughtful hum, a smile etching your lips at each bite.

"Ah, then why?" He could only sigh at your question, grabbing a napkin and wiping the mess you've made at the corners of your mouth and your chin. You only leaned in closer, staring at his crimson eyes.

"Do I require a reason to cook something you like? It just happened to be what's available for tonight." He scoffed, shaking his head, and went back to eating his food with an annoyed expression.

You let out a silent chuckle, letting it go, and continued to eat instead. You guess that he needn't a reason, but you felt so much better after he cooked your favorite meal.

He's never straightforward with you sometimes, no? Well, as they say, actions speak louder than words.

not to be extremely predictable abt the characters i ask abt but do you imagine any of the p7 are still around during or right before the future au? i know they are. Old. but i always am fond of the concept of like the old folks helping out at the camp after pn2.

Im always so very tossed up about how and If the p7 are still around during the aac timeline . But for the sake of “it would be funny if,” I will simply say they Are. (And ramble more about the thoughts ive had about a couple that might Not be and Why under a cut bc its kind of depressing)

Otto will never die and will never leave the Motherlobe much to Hollis and Truman’s dismay. The older he gets the more powerful he gets. He continues to contribute, arguably with increasing efficiency, but as each year passes he gets less and less concerned about getting caught doing things outside of the parameters of Psychonauts rules. “What are you gonna do? Fire me? Lmao” *goes back to working on his death beam that he just made because it was funny.*

I have this hc that at some point Sam makes it her mission to renovate the Lumberstack Diner as the Questionable Area? becomes more profitable over the years. And i think Compton working as a cook there would be a nice little job for him to have while in retirement. Cooking is like the one type of stress he can handle i think. Hes so so scared but in the comfort of something familiar so its less likely to cause him to start blowing things up.

Bob and Helmut deserve a nice little retirement home and I think theyre the primary residents of the Gulch (next to maybe Cassie and Compton?) They supervise (re: sometimes run into and chat with) Raz and his team who have basically taken up their own residence in the Gulch. Perks of being teammates with agent Aquato and Zanotto is that you dont have to resort to dormitories.

I’m not sure what’s up with Cassie! I don’t think she’s doing much either, probably also sticking around the Gulch. Though i think through the support of the others she at least gets Slightly more involved with the Psychonauts or going out into towns to do book signings so that she doesn’t become a complete and total recluse again.

I think Ford and Lucy are out traveling a lot while they’ve still got the time to. Making up for a whole lotta lost time n all that, giving each other time to talk and jazz. They’re not around a lot but they visit often!

Ok. And a very specific less sweet outcome for Ford and Lucy under the cut

When i run through which characters it would be like. Narratively “Best” to have passed away around the AAC timeline, my mind always immediately jumps to these two. Like obviously I think some characters would be more likely to have died before them (looking at you my friend Bob) or ones that could be more impactful in other directions (Cassie and Compton having to learn to exist without one another) but considering their last narrative experiences in Pn2 was finding each other again for the first time in years, it feels like any of those four (Bob, Helmut, Cassie, Compton) passing away would just be a disservice to prior storytelling. And Otto will never die, as I’ve said, so don’t even worry about him <3

I just think a lot about a story in which Ford and Lucy pass on before Raz can ever really reconcile any of his issues he had with either of them. A story in which he’s happy to see them getting along and traveling together, but every time they leave he holds his breath and counts down the days until they make it back and he can guarantee they’re still alive and he goes “This time, this time I’ll say something,” and then he doesn’t because how do you even bring up that conversation after all this time.

And then eventually they pass and it’s almost poetic, really, going at around the same time. But he never got to say anything to them, never got to reconcile and barely got a goodbye. And now he has to learn how to deal with that. How to deal with the fact that they’re still everywhere, in True Psychic Tales issues, on murals, on old pictures, inherently buried in the history of the psychonauts.

And i dont know. I think it’s an interesting story to explore. In a hypothetical real Psychonauts future story, you enter the story with some characters trying to question Raz about something theyre worried about that he always cuts off or dodges before you get to hear, but the lack of any mention of Ford or Lucy is so absent that it’s palpable. Stuff like that.

The headcanons with a gn!s/o that got new prosthesis legs? (Fluff/comfort please)

I lost both of my legs at 5 years old because I had a heart tumor and oxygen levels problem and my legs didn't had enough oxygen so I eventually couldn't move them anymore so they amputated them and I got my first pair of new legs at 7 years old, the heart tumor came back at 9, 12 (this one gave me cancer) and 17, right now I'm tumor free (im 19) but I still stay in the hospital all the time since my oxygen level is still low, I've never lived outside the hospital for 14 years, I mostly made friends with everyone at the hospital and I love playing with the youngest patients but it's been really hard on the mind and sometimes I have to get IV because I can't eat because of it, 2 weeks ago I got my new legs and I'm super happy about them, obviously, but it's been a bit hard to adapt to them and for the mind since it's a lot, I can't even look at the scars, I also spend a lot of time in the psychology block to help me cope and get better

So please, can I have headcanons where s/o gets new legs but have a bit of difficulty walking in them and mentally? Thanks! <3

Itadori was always in the hospital visiting his grandpa after school, so it’s only natural that he eventually met you

He noticed you had two prosthesis legs, which made him curious–that’s how he first approached you

After learning your story and seeing you more often, he eventually fell for you and asked you out, which you hesitated at first. How could a relationship like that work? Did he really like you or was he just feeling pity for you?

Yet it did work out, years after Itadori’s grandpa passed away, he continued to stay by your side through everything, showing you all his love and support

So the day you received your new legs, he was right there with you, glad to see you happy with them, though there was always that hint of frustration and sadness behind your eyes

You had trouble walking in them at first, they were heavy and different from the ones you had before, you knew it would take time to get used to, but struggling to walk was very frustrating on you

He knows there isn’t much he can do for you. After all, he didn’t know what it felt like to lose both legs at a young age. He had no clue what it was like to be in a hospital your whole life because of a heart tumor that continued to return and left you with low oxygen levels, he had no idea

But what he did know, was that he wouldn’t let you go through it alone anymore; he stayed by your side years ago when he first met you, and he’d continue to remain there, doing anything and everything in his power to bring you joy and love you to the fullest

“You’ll get the hang of it, don’t worry. I’ll be here for you no matter what,” he says, kissing the back of your hand as you continue to practice walking in your new legs, with Yuuji by your side

Levi:

Levi frequented the medical ward due to all his comrades and friends that passed away or got gravely injured during ventures into the outer walls and later in the areas within the walls that harbored titans

So he was bound to run into you at some point, and when he did, it was when you were playing with the younger kids in the medical ward, you had a bright smile on your face, yet he noticed your prosthesis legs, knowing you’d probably been fighting your own battles

He’d catch himself watching you every now and then whenever he found himself in the medical ward, you were attractive and your spirit also seemed to draw him in, he couldn’t help it

Sometimes he’d even show up at the medical ward when no one he knew was there, he just hoped to catch a glimpse of you

This continued for a while until one day you met eyes with him and he awkwardly looked away, but figured he’d seem a little weird if he just left, so he approached you and made small talk with you

He enjoyed talking to you more than he thought he would and eventually you naturally got closer, leading to being together romantically

It was now the day when you received your new legs and Levi quietly sat in a chair in the corner of your room, watching the doctors set you up in them

Levi is a man of few words, so he just carefully watches their every move, listening to their instruction before they leave to give you some privacy

He stands as you stand to get used to your new legs and hovers by your side, his arms ready to leap out incase you need the extra support

Let’s just say even though he isn’t very verbal with his care for you, he’s super attentive and shows you he cares through his small actions

Frustration is written all over your face as you struggle to get used to them, you felt tired of your situation at times since it was mentally exhausting and Levi understood that well

As a soldier, he’s lost so many comrades and friends along the way, feelings of helplessness and wanting to give up deep inside him; he assumed you felt the same at times in regard to your situation, but he wanted to make sure you knew you had him around if you needed him, you weren’t alone in this

“I know it must be hard dealing with this all the time. Though, you’re braver and stronger than half the soldiers on my team, Y/N. Despite everything that life has thrown your way, you’ve faced it and moved forward, I really admire that…” He says awkwardly, yet in full honestly. He wasn’t used to opening up like this verbally so often…

He’s ready to help in any way he can, and at night when the doctors are gone and the lights go out, he pulls a chair next to your bed, as his hands trace patterns on the skin above where your prosthesis start, leaving gentle kisses to the skin, his eyes shining with love and admiration for you

He loves all of you, even your prostheses and he wouldn’t change you for anything

Levi always makes times for you at the end of the day when training is over and he has nothing else to work on

Drinking tea with you in your room and reading together or listening to you speak is the highlight of his day, you bring a light to him he never had before, and he’d do anything to protect that

Sanji:

Being part of the Strawhats was always a wild ride, but how did you get here?

Luffy and the crew had visited your island and he was instantly amazed by your legs, yet seeing you stuck in a hospital room felt off to him, so he invited you to join the crew to go on all their adventures, giving you the opportunity to see the world that was out there

After all they had a doctor on board, so you were in very capable hands with Chopper who always did his best to care for you

And of course this was how you met Sanji who was drawn in by you the second he saw you

It didn’t take long for him to ask you out repeatedly which you refused several times, until you realized that his feelings for you were actually genuine

Only then did you become a couple and he treats you SO WELL

He treats you like a delicate flower, making you the best foods that are easy to eat, yet still provide you with all the nutrients you need to live (whenever you do have the appetite to eat)

Franky had just finished making your new legs, thanks to Choppers detailed instructions of what you’d need and it was time to try them out and of course Sanji was there with you

“Careful with that, can’t you be more gentle?”

This man is so protective over you, poor Chopper is getting fires of questions thrown at him as well as Franky, as Sanji questions whether this is really the right fit, and if it’ll do you good

He just wants the best for you, especially with these new legs, but once he sees your smile as you try them on, he relaxes a little

You have a hard time walking in them at first, needed to get used to the new shape and weight of them, and being on a rocky ship didn’t exactly help either, but Sanji is right there to help you whenever you need it

I think he’d even be a little too clingy at times; one hand around your waist as his other holds one of your hands…he just doesn’t want you to lose your balance and fall

Sometimes he sees your frustrations and holds you close to him whenever you have mentally draining days where things are just extra difficult for you to face, but at least you know you have his support

“Everything’s going to be okay, my love. I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you, but I swear I’ll do what I can to make it easier to bear”

And of course the way he knows to comfort you the most is through his hugs, kisses, and with his cooking of course

Warm soups are probably your favorite, they’re easy to eat and comforting as you sip on them, but he’ll make you your favorite treats as well if you’re ever craving them

Sanji does worry a lot about you, but he’d never let you see it. He just wants you to be happy and healthy, so always seeing you on oxygen in Choppers office pulls at his heart strings, but he’ll put on a brave face for you and give you all his love and attention

If you need anything at all, just tell him and he’ll get it for you, even if it’s just something as simple as wanting to hold his hand…he’d run to you in a second to make it happen <3

Im taking this as a chance to finally ramble abt her anyways so Janet's core inspo when designing her was to avoid 2 key things. Don't make her like Immortal & Th Restless's Clara (due to clara representing michael, not mrs afton, so i wanted to avoid that), and don't base her too heavily off of Ballora. I still have ties to Ballora's character (a music-based theme, blue-centric colour palette, im sure there were more basic ideas but everything else is more hc than themes to keep up) due to my hc thingy of each Funtime having ties to William's wife + kids, but yknow.

But yeah. Funky lady who played bass guitar + did backup vocals in a band during her high school and college years. Literally her and William dating can be summed up by "Seriously, what do you see in that guy?!" "He makes me laugh." bc she was and is WAY out of his goddamn league. Not just bc of the whole serial killer thing he was just an even bigger loser in college. Normal people dont develop a crush on a woman after she nearly breaks your nose and makes you bleed, William /j

But yeah uhh. I also dont like the idea of her being absent or neglectful purely because I got way too attached to her (i was originally gonna do that just to make things easy for myself but. Pretty lady,,, I am a very simple lesbian what can i say) so like. She obviously wasnt the greatest, most fantastic mom to ever exist given she was kinda maybe sorta well aware William was making some weird fucking clowns, but like. Hey. She tried. Also side note my reasoning for her being absent during the whole. Yknow. '83 event (and just evan's bday in general) is bc Evan + Elizabeth are twins and Elizabeth demanded a girls-only trip for her bday, and Janet promised Evan she'd do something just as special for him when she got back. But yeah uhh. Shes got a lot of regrets. Wishes she coulda done a lot of things better. Kinda dies with those regrets. Ive seen people say that one of fnaf's charms is that no character is 100% good and i LOVE that, and wanted to keep it up with Janet. Good mom and overall a good person, however made some bad decisions along the way and whatnot.

Im still working out specifics (ive been slowly working on a lil private fic abt her and william meeting + their early relationship) but uhhh. Minor notes that dont get their own paragraphs is that William sampled her voice for Ballora so yay easy voice claim, she had an on and off relationship with her band's lead singer (her name's Bev), her birth name is actually Janice Schmidt but if you call her Janice she'll knock at least 2 of ur teeth out, she's a runaway teen and got adopted by this older couple bc her home life kinda sucked (idk specifics yet), and also girlie has an extensive criminal record of minor angsty teen type charges. Also teen Mike dying his hair and then 2020's Michael's hairstyle are both kinda references to Janet's hair because he wnated to look less like his father. Thats all ty. Well i was gonna say Janet was def the first to flirt but i think William definitely developed a crush first and they only kept talking bc of said crush so its kinda up for debate. Mitsui

I just KNOW this boy has had braces. He probably had them during his elementary years, but I feel like he hated having them lmao.

The INSTANT his teeth were aligned enough, he switched to Invisalign. I feel like Mitsui has a specific image of what a player should look like and braces don’t fit that image.

I feel like he brushes his teeth and all that, but he didn’t really care much about taking care of them until after he lost his front teeth and got implants. The fact he covered his mouth with a mask implies that his teeth was something he wasn’t happy about, and I doubt he’d be happy with them turning yellow or looking really bad again.

He lowkey started flossing after getting his implants and getting nagged by his parents to take better care of his teeth

Sendoh

I FEEL LIKE HE ALREADY STARTED OFF WITH A GOOD SMILE?? Like he never had an underbite or overbite or really crooked teeth, but that there were slight misalignments. But you wouldn’t be able to tell unless you looked at his teeth really closely.

He wouldn’t really care about it and I doubt he’d beg for his teeth to get fixed, but his parents suggested it and told him “you already have a good smile, it’ll look even better”. Sendoh isn’t a contrarian so he went with it 😭

I think with dental hygiene, Sendoh is pretty good with it. He brushes and flosses on a regular basis. I don’t think he’d think much of it though, it’s just part of his routine

Fukatsu

He strikes me as the type that had really big teeth as a kid that looked like they didn't belong to him. Fukatsu struggled with pronouncing words at a young age and that's how he developed his odd speech quirk BC HE COULDNT STRESS HIS SENTENCES CORRECTLY (he ends a sentence but it still sounds like he wants to say something) AND NEEDED SOMETHING TO SIGNIFY THAT HE IS DONE SPEAKING.

Eventually as he aged, he grew into his teeth and has had no issues with them since, though he has yet to grow out of his speech quirk.

I ALSO THINK HE HAS GOOD HYGIENE. He’s not overboard about it, but he flosses and brushes his teeth. I feel like he’d be the type to have bubble gum flavored mouthwash.

i talked 2 my bf abt this like. a week ago or something but. i think a lotta the mercs were farmboys.

Engie is a given because im like 90% sure its cannon but also he’s living in texas in the 1960′s. youve gotta have a farm my man. maybe not animals? like he seems like he’d have a family horse and he would Know people with cows but! probably grew shit like corn and wheat and maybe rotated some vegetables in there. do not START on me saying he’d have texas longhorn because their meat quality is SHIT and he would have red angus if anything gobdless.

Pyro I’ve talked abt before but I feel like they had to have had some farm experience! A lotta kids outside of the city basically had to have at least a little bit, and my hc for them is that they lived on a black angus ranch. They ain’t too friendly (because they rlly only see people once or twice a year so it makes sense) so I feel like Pyro was prolly one of those farmhand kids who helped their dad chase around cattle when it was time to wean calves or send em to butchering. More than once completely bowled over by a cow but they just. Hand in the air and thumbs up motion. Get back up son we’ve got a job to do type deal. They probably grew their own corn too because a lotta farmers used to do that.

Soldier is a midwest guy so i feel like he’d have family chickens or turkeys for eggs! ive never actually been anywhere like. “Midwest” (dakotas range is what im talkin abt) but i know turkey hunting is fairly good over there and solider is just a chicken kind of pal to me! he would love these clucking creatures and would carry them around under his arm like a pillow. they are completley content to be held by him. Definitely a poultry guy though. Maybe could have had goats as well? He seems like a goat guy, I don’t have a lot of experience w goats but he seems like one of those weirdos who grew up with a goat.

Sniper grew up on a sheep ranch, and again im like. pretty sure thats cannon but like. if its not oh well. defo spent a lot of time out in the pasture with sheep just petting em and making sure they werent getting themselves caught in barbwire. Being out with the herd was probably a safehaven type of thing for him. They probably had some dogs to help with herding too, which isn’t really farming, but they’re adjacent enough that i’m going to count it.

Heavy definitely farmed. I don’t know anything at all about Russia’s growing season or what crops are grown there, but it’s gotta be fairly short so I’m imagining he had to grow and preserve a lot of root vegetables to keep for winter. And it IS cannon that his family does a lot of hunting! (albeit for bears) but I feel like they woulda had some chickens as well. Maybe a small flock in a warm hen-house close to their own home so the critters in the surrounding woods wouldnt get them. But like Engineer I feel like Heavy’s family woulda been more farming focused, espeically with such a short growing season and having to prepare for incoming winter.

Everybody else I really just imagine as cityguys (scout could not survive on a farm he would see a big steer out in the pasture by itself and immediatly get chased around by it upon climbing the fence to say hi)

1. What made you ship it?

i think its pretty accurate for me to say that this is the most popular ship in the fandom, ESPECIALLY when i first got into it several years ago. basically everything was or had funpoison in it, so when i first started shipping it i was kind of just following the trend lol. HOWEVER, the more obsessed i got with the universe and the more i began to really develop my versions of the killjoys, the more i got into them and their relationship as i sort of realized how much fucking POTENTIAL they have (especially angst potential lmao)

2. What are your favorite things about this ship?

i think my favorite thing abt them is just the idea that they fight A LOT and they disagree A LOT but they never truly let that get in the way of their love for one another. at the end of the day, no matter how much horrible shit they may say to each other, they would still die and kill for the other in a heartbeat! they are just sooooo fiercely loyal to each other, and i especially love fics where its like, theyre both these stone cold badasses who everyone's afraid of but they act super soft and cute around each other,,,, oh and i love fucking thinking abt how they can parallel each other with their upbringings and shit since i typically hc ghoul as a desert born and party as a city kid!

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

uhhhh i think my biggest one would be- ugh okay so this is kind of hard to explain hold on.

so, i like enemies to lovers, right? i think its a super fucking interesting concept and is SO GOOD when its done well! and so, theres a lot of funpoison enemies to lovers stories, right, because of how a lot of ppl interpret their personalities and shit. and i just, idk i just feel like a lot of them are not. really,,,, done well

like, okay, it feels like in the majority of the ones ive read, they never really have a reason to hate each other and it always feels to me like they go from hating each other to unconditionally loving each other FAR too quickly! like theres barely ever any build up, or any sign of a friendship or that they even like each other! they just go from trying to kill each other to being 100% willing to die for the other with practically ZERO explanation, and im not saying all funpoison fics are like this bc ive read SO MANY that are SO GOOD and do the trope SO WELL, but its enough if them that it bugs me. this might be a problem with a bit older fics in particular, but i think it was a big thing when i first entered the fandom and it annoyed me enough then to still make me upset now

not really sure if this counts as an unpopular opinion abt the ship specifically but idk i feel like it does? whatever its the first answer that came to mind and i did NOT type all that out just to delete it lmao hope it made sense at least

notes: apparently i called this “my main HC’ for them but ive written so many now that i can imagine all kinds of scenarios so iunno what to call this

After seeing Hinata get confessed to by a random girl, Tsuki starts getting antsy about his feelings for him. (They’re like at least second years, maybe even third iunno doesn’t really matter) Yamaguchi notices this and tells him to maybe confess but Tsuki thinks it’s pointless. Yamaguchi convinces him that at least he will know and have closure so he could move on and yeah Tsuki decides he could do that.

He asks Hinata to talk in private after the evening practice the next day. Hinata thinks Tsuki is going to murder him or something but Tsuki seriously just tells him that he likes him. Hinata is staring wide-eyed and recovers by laughing at the joke. Tsuki is getting more annoyed and says he wouldn’t be the type to joke about that kind of thing. Hinata realized he is right and just stares in shock. Tsuki realizing what this means just leaves. Hinata doesn’t even call out for him. He sighs and enters his defeatist mode thinks that of course there’s no way his feelings would be reciprocated.

The next day he acts like nothing ever happens. Hinata acts weird around him though and is always looking at him when he thinks he isn’t looking. Even if he isn’t looking he can feel the stare.

Hinata surprises him when he asks to eat lunch with him that day. Yamaguchi makes an excuse to let them eat together and they just eat quietly. Tsuki finally asks him why he’s here and Hinata gets shy and flustered.

“I thought you liked me.”

“And?”

Hinata explains that he never thought Tsukishima even liked him more as a friend/teammate so it was really surprising. It’s a leading question that Tsuki knows he’s falling into when he starts listing Hinata traits that Tsuki likes about him. Hinata is staring at him wide eyed and flushed. He gets really happy hearing Tsukishima praise him. Tsuki knows that and he likes when Hinata smiles but he tells him that if he isn’t going to reciprocate his feelings then he’d prefer Hinata leave him alone. That kind of sends Hinata into a shock and asks why. Tsuki just sucks his teeth and tells him that it’ll be faster to get over his feelings for him if he isn’t interacting with him. Hinata looks kind of desperate and asks why he would do that. Rolling his eyes, Tsukishima tells him straight out it was pointless to have feelings for him since he knows that Hinata doesn’t and won’t ever feel the same way and confessing was kind of the first step to getting over him. He leaves a quiet Hinata again.

The week proceeds and Tsuki does keep his distance but the team notices that Hinata is also off his game. The Friday comes and Hinata corners Tsukishima.

“Are you free tomorrow?”

“Why?”

“W-wanna see a movie then?”

“With you, not really.”

“Stupidshima! I-I’m asking you out!”

“.....?”

“O-on a date! W-will you go out with me??”

Tsuki is looking at him incredulously. He starts walking off, Hinata chases after him. Hinata asks why he’s running away and Tsukishima takes that as an insult that he’s a coward. He says he doesn’t need Hinata’s pity and it’s fine if he doesn’t feel the same way and they could just forget about Tsukishima’s confession already.

Hinata shakes his head and pulls at his jacket. He says he doesn’t get confessed to a lot so it’s really special to him, especially because it’s someone like Tsukishima. Tsuki asks him what that means and Hinata stumbles over how if he wanted to date someone, one of their traits would be that they had to like volleyball.

At that, Tsukishima actually laughs. It comes out a little depraved but he thought it was humorous and very Hinata like. Hinata fumbles and says he knows what Tsukishima is thinking that but he also says that Tsuki is someone who is close to him and is cool and smart so he wouldn’t mind going out with someone like that. Tsukishima's face is unreadable. (He had said before that Hinatas definition of cool weirds him out but right now, hearing him get complimented by the guy he likes, he can’t help but feel a little happy.)

“What movie is out right now?”

Hinata perks up and they discuss a meeting time and place tomorrow.

Tsukishima arrives at the allotted place a good ten minutes before the meeting time. He doesn’t actually want to admit that he’s nervous but when was the last time he actually hung out with Hinata solo? (They’d have study sessions alone once in a while but not often or recent enough for Tsukishima to think about it.)

Hinata shows up 7 minutes after their meeting time. He apologized and said he got sidetracked on the way. That kinda hurt Tsuki a bit because this “date” probably didn’t mean as much to Hinata as it did for him. Hinata is just humoring him at the end of the day. Gods why did he even agree to this? He hates the small part of him that still thinks there is still some hope that Hinata might reciprocate his feelings. (And then what? Tsukishima never thought that they’d ever go as far as becoming… boyfriends…)

Hinata calls to him and hands him something. (Uhhhh iunno what it is but it is thoughtful and the reason that Hinata was late because he almost forgot it and had to go back to get it) Tsukishima feels warm. He also notices Hinata dressed up a bit for this. (Well he would feel insulted if he hadn’t. Even Tsukishima did put some thought into his wardrobe.)

They choose a movie after not too much argument and settle for a sci fi adventure. Hinata offers to get food and drinks and tsuki gets to pick seats. Hinata returns with two buckets of popcorn and a drink each. Tsuki tells him that he probably didn’t need to get that much food and they could have shared the popcorn but Hinata says he knows that Tsuki eats less so he could eat the rest of his. Regardless, they watch the movie, Hinata gets really into it. Tsuki watches Hinata for the most part, his reactions are very like him and it’s just very endearing and he kind of remembers why the stupid ball of sunshine captured his heart. He tries to look interested in the movie but the effects and scientific inaccuracies bore him.

After the movie, Hinata is bouncing around and reciting his favorite parts. Tsuki thought the ending was cliched but it wasn’t a bad movie. Hinata asks him if they should get food first or do other stuff. Tsuki is actually surprised that Hinata wants to spend more time with him because he technically did just ask him to the movies. He voices this, snarky. (“You only asked to watch a movie with me.” “Yeah but since we’re already here.” “And spend more time with you?” Hinata pouts. “I thought you liked me!” Tsuki shrugs)

They end up going to the arcade. They play a few silly competitive games like air hockey or whatever. Hinata tries his hand at some crane games and he fails. Tsuki laughs at him but Hinata tries again because he said his sister would probably like it. Watching him try again and fail with an exaggerated groan, Tsuki lets out a sigh and throws in his own 500 yen. He gets it and Hinata is screaming and praising him. Tsuki snarks at him telling him it wasn’t even that hard and Hinata pouts saying he moved it to an easier position for him. Tsukishima drops the plush bunny on top of Hinata’s head. Hinata’s eye sparkles and theres a hint of a blush and he thanks him with a brilliant smile. Tsuki’s heart flips and he thinks its stupid that he could get enjoyment out of it.

Hinata choses a food place, just a family restaurant. They order food and talk about school and other things. Hinata constantly trying to shove food into Tsukishima’s plate saying he doesn’t eat enough. Tsukishima of course replies that Hinata eats so much for a tiny body and wonders where he puts all of it. Hinata gets dessert and he’s actually kind of surprised that Tsukishima does too. Watching Tsuki take his time with his cake, Hinata asks if Tsuki has a sweet tooth and Tsuki reluctantly answers truthfully.

After that they walk over to a park and Hinata pulls out a volleyball from his bag. Tsukishima rolls his eyes but they bump the ball back and forth while talking about menial things like what they do on the weekends. They’re chatting while passing the ball back and forth until the sun sets.

They head home on the train. Hinata’s stop is before Tsukishima so he bids him farewell first. Hinata places a kiss on Tsukishima’s cheek and rushes out of the car before the doors close. He’s in shock but he swivels towards the windows and watches Hinata (face red) wave at him as the train pulls away. Tsukishima sits back on his seat, his own face flushed. He couldn’t help the smile growing on his face and if he did a victory fist pump, nobody had to know.
