i do just have to say though.................... i feel like people who really really loved the movie's portrayals of the characters are adding aspects of the show characters onto them? you know what i mean? like i see people say that adrien and marinette were more likeable in the movie than the show, when movie adrien didn't perform a single act of kindness in the entire 2 hours despite kindness being a core trait of adrien in the show? marinette was normal and not particularly weird at all and just kind of a generic protagonist? were adrien and marinette actually more interesting in the movie than the show, or are you just cherrypicking the aspects of them you like the from the show and putting them on the movie characters to make your favorite amalgamation?
marinette fell for adrien not because he showed vulnerability and forgiveness and kindness and opened his heart up to her.... but because he awkwardly tried to help her up after being kind of weirded out by her? so like i guess she thought he was hot and that was basically it? chat noir fell for ladybug not because she was strong and confident and showed determination in the face of fear... but because she begrudgingly helped him up in the middle of a battle? so like i guess he thought she was hot and that was basically it? they fell for each other over just the bare minimum interactions? most of their relationship was a montage? like, did the movie do the work to convince you of lovesquare's romantic potential, or did you go into the movie already shipping them because the show had already convinced you?
thats totally a valid way to enjoy the movie ftr! i'm just saying.... idk it's weird to see people praising the movie for being "better" when i feel like a lot of the enjoyment of the movie actually hinges on watching the show as context for their characters. and i guess im just a cringe slow-burn enjoyer but i find it weird that people are using "faster" as a synonym for "better"
not enough destiel fic out there exploring the comedic potential of acknowledging the fact that jensen and therefore dean dropped his voice by like two octaves after meeting cas. need a scene where bobby and sam are looking at him like 🤨🤨 why the fuck are you talking like that and dean's just like shut up I always talk like this what are you even talking about your face is talking like that.
Anyway, if I had a nickel for every time a series had six installments that gradually escalated in ridiculousness, only for the sixth installment to end with a universe reboot and the seventh installment to pick up in a new universe where alternate versions of the original characters now exist in the distant past, I'd have two nickels.
One of those series is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The other is Riverdale
I might’ve spoiled the plot of Natlan | Genshin Impact THEORY
In which I read so much lore that I gained the power to see the future (maybe)
This ended up being a real challenge to make - but it was also really fun! Please do lemme know what you reckon of these ideas, and whether y’all wanna see me pattern-recognition my way into several corkboards worth of theories about any other topics sometime down the line! (^^)/
(also: HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥳🎉 Here's wishing y'all every good thing for 2024)
Man “Battle Nexus: New York” was a great episode but I do have one major gripe with it.
Like. Raph being paired up with Ghostbear? Makes sense. Works great. Works amazing, even.
Mikey being paired up with Meatsweats? Yeah that checks out!!
Donnie getting…Hypno…? I mean. I guess Donnie doesn’t like magic so it kindaaa works but Kendra would have been a much better choice to me personally. Maybe Big Mama didn’t wanna include a human or something…
And Leo getting…uh…one of the Sando Brothers???? Of all villains? Nah let’s be real, his main villain is more Big Mama herself (or Leo could be considered his own worst enemy lmao-). Hell Hypno would have probably worked better here considering their shared love for magic tricks and stuff, but Carl Sando????
I can't believe I'm into Hatecrimes MD now but Jim 'I spend my entire life trying to be as nice and unoffensive as possible' Wilson and Greg 'I go out of my way to be a rude selfish asshole that ignores all social niceties' House have one of the best dynamics I have ever seen in television. Both of them are mortally allergic to opening up about anything ever. House makes this obvious within two minutes of being forced to speak to you, but Wilson will be your husband for years without you ever knowing he has a brother. They drug each other. They're best friends. They're the longest lasting, most important, and most unhealthy relationship in each other's lives. They both constantly trample over any sort of personal boundaries - Wilson because he's obsessed with fixing people, House because he's obsessed with solving puzzles. Wilson makes House to go to his father's funeral so House gets him arrested. They met when House decided to bail a random stranger out of jail because he was bored. They're both in desperate need of therapy but one of them doesn't believe in therapy and the other has deluded himself into believing he's perfectly well adjusted. They live together. 'Genius asshole who has something wrong with him' x 'utterly average guy who has something deeply wrong with him'. 'I can make him worse' x 'I can fix him (consistently fails to fix him)'. Self-absorbed and refuses to comply to the expectations of those around him in any way x selfless to a fault and defines himself by everyone around him. They like monster trucks.
