hi bbs this is my updates page for my fics, mostly for me to keep track of my fics & progress (i like to check off boxes when i complete tasks. scratches my brain so good) and also bc i tend to get asks about updates so i was hoping this could help with that!!
note. chapter priorities are subject to change but in general reflects the order in which i will update for now. progress hp 10-80% = writing phase, 80-100% = editing phase.

You guys only met because you knew Jeongin
The tiny babie brought you to meet his friends
Chan was smitten when he first met you
He thought you were so pretty when he saw you following behind Jeongin

“Who is that?”
He wants Jeongin to introduce you two
Sensing the vibes, the maknae is more than happy to introduce you two
if he was being honest, he already knew Chan would pretty much fall in love with you immediately
Chan’s flustered when he introduces himself to you
He’s almost blubbering all over the place
You find it kinda cute but he’s scared you found him really weird
He tries to steal little moments to be with you
Like ‘accidentally’ bumping into you in the hallway
Or how he just so happens to walk into Jeongin’s room when you’re on a call with him
Or how he just so happens to be lingering around the flea market nearby your college campus
Chan takes care of you without even realising it
If you bump into each other he asks whether you’ve eaten or how your day is
He loves the way you seem to parent his friends like he does

Leaves the two of you alone
He honestly just thinks you two should get together and so does the rest of the group
So they find excuses to get you two alone together

Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t try to impress you with his sexy dance moves
Tries to win your heart the romantic way which doesn’t work because half the time you’re too busy dancing to actually realise he’s trying to flirt with you

You end up talking about almost everything because it turns out that Changbin’s gone way longer than both of you thought
Chan eventually emerges from his bedroom and waves at you
He orders fried chicken for you guys
You and Jeongin continue talking while eating
Chan finds it super cute
Jeongin’s playful around you
But he doesn’t want to make himself appear immature
But you like when he’s being playful so you slowly ease him into being more comfortable
He still just wants to impress you so you like him back

He realised it when you were over for a regular movie night

Frequent, severe headrushes are super weird, bc from the outside it LOOKS super freaky. It's always a fun time (sarcasm) when the uninitiated see a particularly bad one, bc from their perspective it goes like this (steps usually overlap slightly):
1. Me, blinking: "oh, um. Don't freak out"
2. Eyes go unfocused. I stop responding to things said to me
3. I reach for something sturdy, generally miss, then pitch alarmingly to the side as I claw ineffectually at whatever I reached for while falling to the ground
4. On my way down, I begin to shake and twitch uncontrollably
5. I get to the floor, where I sit for a few seconds, still twitching & shaking, then blink a few times. Optional: I begin to gasp for breath.
Which, from the outside, looks fucking insane! Several people have said "you just had a seizure!" (they're not seizures! I'm completely aware the whole time!).
On the inside, it feels like this:
1. Dizziness & tunnel vision. I now have 0-2 seconds to sit down or grab something before I lose the ability to do that in a controlled manner
2. Vision goes. If it's a bad one, hearing is also gone. I can still talk though, so I might say something like "im ok! This is normal! I'll be fine in a minute!" (if it's not REALLY bad, that is)
3. Balance goes. This has a big range of results, ranging from needing to lean against a wall/object/person, to suddenly sitting on the floor, to (my favourite :/) not being fast enough to react before my vision goes and looking like I'm clawing at the object bc I can't see it and I'm no longer 100% sure where it is in relation to my body any more and my fingers are shaking and I can't get a fucking GRIP ON IT. This can also lead to a slow slide to the ground, so like: unfocused eyes, clawing at the wall as I slowly collapse downwards. Best result is getting a firm grip on something then locking my knees and elbows so I don't brain myself during the next step
4. Muscle spasms! Usually happens as I'm falling! My limbs start twitching uncontrollably, which can make my slow, clawing descent look even more alarming! If I'm grabbing something, it also looks alarming!!! If I'm sitting on the floor, is ALSO looks alarming!!!!!
5. Like 5 seconds of waiting for it to pass, shaking uncontrollably, holding onto whatever I can for dear life, unable to see or hear anything, sometimes repeating "I'm OK! Just wait, I'm OK!" if I remember to breathe!
6. (Optional) vision clears and I begin gasping for breath bc sometimes I hold onto whatever I grab so tightly that I forget to breathe! You know when you brace against something and you hold your breath automatically? Yeah, hard to remember to breathe when everything is a spinny, purple-black-green mass of wooOOOAAAAAHHH FUCK
7. Things clear up. I stand up straight and apologize. Someone tells me to drink more water. I laugh awkwardly.
I've hurt myself like 2 times but I've fallen >100 so the track record isn't terrible! It almost always happens within 30s of standing up (although one time it was like 2 minutes later which was inconvenient bc I'd made it to a busy hallway :/), and it's worse if I'm tired, stressed, hungry, or dehydrated, but it also happens when I'm none of those things. It's worse if I've been sitting for a long time, but it can also happen after sitting for 2 minutes.
It's happened a few times when I'm still sitting and I yawn. One time, it happened when I was sitting with someone, and I was like "oh one second", and I folded forward and put my head on my knees to just shake it out, and the person I was with panicked and tried to grab me, and accidentally Kneed Me In The Head! That was a weird time bc like they KNEW I did this all the time so 🤷. School was a good time (sarcasm), bc 5 minutes between classes to get across the building meant I didn't have the luxury of standing up slowly and I fell over like 4 times a day while teachers were like "👀 u ok?"
Sometimes the head rushes are so mild I can mostly ignore them. If I'm walking down an empty hallway and my vision is like "goodbye" but my balance is mostly fine, I'll sometimes just keep walking, maybe list to the side slightly. I prooobably shouldn't do that, but if you're in a busy hallway with a lot of people and you suddenly stop, people will sometimes shove you! Which is annoying! Plus, ive only walked into someone/something while doing this like 3 times in my entire life so again not a terrible track record. It's alwaya fun to walk into someone who came around a corner, blindly grab them bc FUCK, then be like "oh sorry I couldn't see haha".
I've gotten tests done, I've gotten my heart checked, blood drawn, the whole shebang, and apparently I'm fine and just have, like, unusually low blood pressure? Although I haven't actually done that table tilt test, so who knows! It mostly doesn't interfere with my life too much (those 2 injuries happened when I was admittedly way more dehydrated than I should have let myself get), except for Freaking People Out. Honestly people insisting I go to the ER is way more inconvenient than like 90% of the episodes.
I dont really have a reason for posting this, except to maybe ask that people freak out less when it happens? Even if it WAS a seizure, you really should not grab people during an episode, and I've been hurt by people trying to help me more than anything else (those 2 times aren't including other people hurting me while trying help). If we have a close relationship, I might grab onto YOU to hold myself up, and you can definitely hold me back when I do that, but otherwise if I'm falling and shaking, then I can't really control the direction I go in and a SURPRISING number of people end up kneeing me while moving to try to catch me! Also, holding my head directly on a hard, flat surface is WAY more likely to hurt me than letting me hover/ put my own head on my arms so maybe don't force my head down! I don't know why people do that! It hurts!!! If anything, you could put your hand between my head and the hard surface, so I have a soft bumper to hit (tho I almost definitely don't need it tbh), but honestly getting into that position is more likely to smack me in the face so maaaybe just don't.
Oof. You know, I'm always treating this like no big deal, but laid out in a post like this, it DOES seem like a lot? Maybe once the pandemic calms down here I should go get another opinion 🤔

let’s talk commission stuff!
hey folks !!
so i’ve been reorganizing myself to get commissions back on track, and i’ve got some things i’d like to get your input on, if it isn't too much trouble !! ;v;
it’s a long one, so under the cut it goes sdfghghj
a slightly too long tl;dr because apparently this is a 10min read (i'm so sorry): commission revamp on the works! no date for it yet. gonna be easing myself back with just icons for a while at first (no date for that either thoug, not yet), then the revamp will be in full swing with all the other commission options, and the pricetable for them will be changed in the future as well.
some questions:
1) i’m rethinking commission types, is there anything you’d like to see as a new option?
2) considering i tend to open only a handful slots every batch, i'm thinking about implementing a waitlist (with a bit of a twist: it's split between Current Batch and Next Batch; a little more complicated than a regular ol' waitlist, allows me to get through some of the waitlist queue as work gets done). would that interest you or is it too much of a headache? 100% open to suggestions!
3) i’m organizing a board on trello for commission stuffs !! any suggestions or specific things you’d like to see there?
so! it’s already been over a year since i last opened commissions and i’d very much like to get back to them ;o; it’s been way too long! i miss working with you folks aaa
i don’t have a reopening date yet, but i’m planning on opening only icons for a while to ease back into the process. later on, i'll open the other commission options too. you see, i’m working on a full revamp of the whole thing, including the terms of service and that info image with the examples (because looking back, i think it no longer really represents my current style and how i really do commissions in terms of just... plain old rendering and polishing), so i’ll be working on new drawings and a new layout too, and all that good jazz :D
for full disclosure, along with this overhaul of the terms and such, i will be updating prices too c: i’m still working on the new values though, since i need to figure out what commission types/options the overhaul will have. which brings me to the first question here: what would you like to see as a commission option? for reference, here’s the og options:

also, one more thing i’d like to note about this revamp situation: there isn’t a whole lot that’s changing really haha it’s just been a long, long time since i last did commissions, so i’m reviewing terms and i might change stuff that’s become outdated, or that needs clarification. if you’ve commissioned me before, the process itself is still the same so no worries! once the revamp is out, i’ll point out anything that has changed too c:
in regards to price changes, those first icon-only batches will be in their original price, and the new prices will only take effect once the revamp with the other options is out. it will be quite a while before until that, but if you have any concerns, feel free to message me any time ! either way, i’ll keep you folks posted !! i guess i also could post the new prices before implementing them, if that helps!

now to the waitlist situation <:3c as in, i’ve never had one, a while back someone asked if i did, and now that i’m reorganizing things, i’m wondering if it would be good to implement one :3c feel free to send any questions !! or suggestions!! i'm all ears!!!
usually i only open a handful of slots for each batch, right, and once they're all claimed, the commissions are closed until all the slots are finished. folks who missed the slots have to wait until the next batch, and sometimes those batches take a while to come back, and i usually just message those who missed the opening once the new batch is announced.
what i'm thinking for the waitlist is, i'll open it along with the batch of commissions, and limit it to a specific number of spots or close it by a specific date, whichever comes first. to apply for it, people would just need to send the form and i can tell them immediately whether or not i can draw their request, and then they'll be placed on the waitlist in the order they’ve been accepted c: pretty standard stuff.
here’s the important bit: that list is basically split in two. the first handful of people on the list, corresponding to the amount of slots for the current batch, will be reached out to as i finish working on the claimed slots, and then anyone else on the waitlist will be contacted shortly before the next batch. if, by the time the list closes, not all the opened slots have been claimed, folks on the list will simply be moved up the queue accordingly c: all of it would be discussed individually, of course, and very well disclosed in the commission info!
there are other points to it as well: anyone would be able to request a spot on the next batch's waitlist instead of the current one, and anyone can leave either list at any point. folks who had already claimed a slot when it first opened would only be able to apply for the next batch's waitlist (to give everyone a chance of getting one), and people on the list, either for the current or the next round of commissions, can be skipped up to a limit if they're unable to continue the order once i get to them.
oh and, before i forget, with the waitlist in place, i think i’d no longer be able to put slots on hold as i used to (as in, before paying the first invoice), as it’d be unfair to folks on the list. in that case, the person would be placed on the list as well if they want to, and contacted as soon as possible : )
also the "up to 2 slots per person" thing would be on thin ice too haha
anyway, this is kind of what i intended to do back then, with reopening slots as work gets finished, but never got around to. i want to make sure i don’t swamp myself with work, but also have it so that folks who want slots have a good chance of getting them, whether for the current batch or the next, as there's only so many slots i can open and work on at once, and time zones and irl things are to be considered too for anyone interested c:
it also makes it easier for me to keep track of messaging folks about new slots and such, and the list would be made public and easily available for consulting too : D more on this later!
so how's this looking? i've never done waitlists before and barely knew how they're supposed to work before starting to reorganize things, so please do feel free to voice your thoughts !! i’m 100% open to suggestions !!! do you think this system would work out for you? any concerns? if anything is unclear feel free to point it out, i'll do my best to explain the process or change stuff that doesn't quite work!!

i’m making a little trello board for updates on commission stuff! my commission info page here on tumblr and on deviantart both have this little section for updates on each slot’s progress, but i admittedly didn't do a good job keeping them updated (and constantly updating two things in different places just. kinda sucks.), so i’ve been diving into trello to unify that update section in one place and keep things nice and organized and transparent : ) it would be super useful for keeping track of the waitlist too, if that becomes a thing, or for updates on commission status and such!
so far i’m only testing things out, so it’s looking like this right now (sorry for the tiny image!):

with all those little lists, the “available slots” and “sketch” and “lineart” and whatnot, i would be moving the card along the process : D and adding the appropriate labels, of course
this way i can have those halfsteps labelled too (working on/halfway through/finishing), since there’s only so many colors i can use without making it confusing (and tbh i’m already not too thrilled about color labels as it is, but it beats typing each individual status, and i’d imagine it’s more readable for folks consulting the list as well)
i really like how this looks so far in terms of organization but i’m unsure if the horizontal scrolling is anything but annoying, specially to folks on mobile (with the way i divide my screen on desktop, it certainly isn’t ideal either), so if you have any experience with that, feel free to let me know your thoughts!! there are a thousand different ways to organize this, and this is all a work in progress too c:

idk if this is something you've either a) ever felt the desire to talk about (if not, please excuse the curiosity!) or b) talked about before, but how do you go about writing your ep(f)ics? it's one of those things i've always been curious about because there's plenty of chat about how to start an original novel and plot it etc but usually a good chunk of those hypothetical word counts come down to character building, which is less relevant in fic. any thoughts?
I don’t mind at all! Especially because after writing four (five?) of these fuckers I finally feel like I got the hang of how I actually tackle them.
(that is, the general method. If you're asking about knowing what scenes to write/how to decide what actually happens, there I can't help you. Imo, that's just a case of having imagination)
First a caveat, though: I don’t write chronologically. I know people who do, and honestly it seriously impresses me, but it’s not something that I can do. If you can write chronologically, please do, because you’ll save yourself a lot of headaches. But if you’re like me and you just hop around...
So basically I start out with a vague idea. In Laws that was picking up after ACWNR and showing how they got from there to the point at the start of the series, for TVD it was I wanna show Moriarty’s pov for most of the series, and for the Untamed it was what if post-canon someone starts fucking around with the Yin Metal again. Basic, huge ideas, that give me a start, a middle and an ending.
This is also the point where some people outline. Again, if you can, great! do it! give yourself structure! I personally keep trying and it never works so I’ve given up, and try to keep track in my head instead.
Once I’ve got the basic idea, I basically just... start writing. By which I mean, more specifically, that whenever I have a bit of free time I retreat into daydream-land and start imagining things that might happen. Anything might be a jumping-off point there; a thing I read in another story, an interesting meta I read, a detail I saw in canon. Anything that fits the general storyshape.
(A lot of those scenes start their life in the space before I fall asleep).
The trick after that is to get to a keyboard asap, before I forget what I actually had in mind, and write it down (this is also why fic fragments tend to show up in the notes app of my phone). Once I start writing those down, usually I go beyond what I initially thought of - they write themselves, in a way.
If you do that often enough, eventually you’ll end up with a critical mass of scenes. I do try to put those scenes roughly in the right place, chronologically, but that’s only an estimate. This phase two is basically one giant shuffle game: trying to see which scenes can follow on which, whether there’s a logical connection between them, and then cut-paste and adapt all over the place.
I don’t actually edit in this phase, to be clear. I might put in a placeholder and a note if I have an idea what needs to show up to make two scenes link to each other, but I don’t go any deeper. At this point, you need a bird’s view on your story.
Once that’s in place, I start the hard work, which is taking those scenes and turning them into a coherent whole. Basically I just start reading at the start (of the story/chapter) and then run through the story as if I’m watching a series. The bulk of it has been written by now, so I now have room to write in the connective bits, the references to previous happenings, more internal thoughts and reflections...
And at the end of that phase, you’ve got something that resembles a (clunky, messy, occasionally weird) story.
So then I reread. This is usually when the bigger things start showing up, the character arcs and relationship-building. Some of that is already present, but it isn’t until I’ve got the whole thing in front of me that I actually start seeing the patterns. I try not to edit straight in the text at this point (which is why I often put the file in epub on my ereader, so I don’t get tempted) and take notes about general trends. Detailed editing is later.
(sidenote: fanfic needs less character building than original fiction, but you still need character development. if you’re writing an actual long thing instead of series of vignettes or one-shots, the way the characters are at the start can’t be the way they are in the end. Something’s gotta change, both in terms of characterisation as in relationships, otherwise you’re just going to end up with a boring story.)
And once that’s done, the process starts over, basically. Based on the notes, I start writing missing scenes and shuffling around scenes again if needed, and while I’m at it, I also try to edit the more detailed things. Said editing process keeps going until right at the end: I line-edit in AO3 one last time, just before I post, with the chapter copy-pasted from words straight into the drafts there.
Is this an efficient, logical or neat system? Fuck no. But it’s the only one that works for me, and I’ve gotten some good results with it.
It is, however, a rather intuitive system, because I know roughly how stories work, how tension and character building works etc. When I read, I tend to sense where it needs a cliffhanger, or a spanner in the works, or a big dramatic reveal. If you don’t have that sense (which honestly, I think you can only get if you read/watch/consume shitloads of fiction) you’ll need a way more structured approach - but those have never worked for me, tbh.
TL;DR
Phase 0: have an idea. can be as vague as you want, but try to know the beginning, middle and end of the story.
Phase 1: just fucking write. give no fucks about writing ‘complete’ scenes, just put it down on the page, even if it’s just a dialogue fragment. try to put things roughly in the right place but don’t spend too much thought on that. Put all your energy into imagining things, and then scribbling them down as soon as possible before you forget them again.
Phase 2: shuffle. Move the scenes around until you’ve got an idea what happens and in what order. Don’t bother edting. Just try to get one coherent plotline going.
Phase 3: read-and-write. Start from the beginning and walk yourself through the story, writing as much connective bits and embellishing everything you can.
Phase 4: read-and-check. Read your story as if you were a reader, not the author, and try to see if it makes sense, what the characters’ arcs are, what the story tension is like, and what’s happening plotwise.
Phase 5: Adjust accordingly, ie Rinse and repeat.

Meet Lonnie
So uh...May have made a Hardenshipping fankid.
His name's Lonnie, an orphan street kid that Archie and Maxie adopted who counts as a fankid in my eyes, god damn it.
I can’t draw muscles or children to save my life.

Info under the cut because I really started to ramble about details...A lot.
Bad Quality picture, but his adult versions both have a keystone in the middle of their mask that they use for Mega Evolution.
Notes:
RSE canon is Emerald, which leads in Alpha Sapphire in the future, though in this canon way, RSE events get resolved Without a protagonist. Hypothetical game futures for the SM and USUM games.
RSE Version -
-Still living on the streets at this point, 8-10 in age.
-Met a few times over the course of the story, usually found hiding around a corner after an encounter with Maxie or Archie(outside of hideout encounters), seems mostly in awe of how cool the plans seem.
-Selectively mute, if talked to he'll make gestures towards the player but since the player is about ten, all you really get from talking to him is "...."
-Jumpy, running off as soon as the player is done talking
-Vitiligo
-In the Sapphire & Emerald versions of the game, post game, he's absolutely Terrified of Kyogre, developing Aquaphobia as he grows older.
-Sometime post game, Archie and Maxie pick him up bc he still seems to tag along just behind one of them, and hey, the kid needs a home. And when they’ve patched things up, they’re really good dad’s.
ORAS Version, constants-
- Adopted pre-game and raised by Maxie and Archie before they split bc of differing ideals...again.
- Mid-twenties.
- Team Magma Admin.
- Aquaphobia from past trauma, selectively mute.
- I can't draw muscles but he's definitely the strongest person there, thanks to Archie and a bit of Matt.
- As an adult, Vitiligo patches have spread and caused part of his hair to grow in white.
- Personality wise, he's a rather nice man, only really being a sore loser. And takes after Maxie alot in the brains department, including dumbassery.
- He’s dating both an Aqua Grunt and a Magma Grunt, don’t tell his dads though. A grunt in the Magma hideout asks you if you want to place a bet on that happens when the bosses find out, then realizes you are Not one of the grunts, and runs off.
- Aqua Grunt is named Dew
- Magma Grunt is named Ashe
- I will draw them eventually, they will be mentioned elsewhere.
Omega Ruby -
-he appears somewhat sporadically, usually around Maxie. Fought once at Mossdeep city when the player beats the gym, viewing the player as a threat to Maxie's goal...and wanting to make use of himself, aquaphobia keeping him from following the rest of the team down to the Seafloor Cavern. Team: Crobat, Camerupt, Mightyena, Sealeo.
-A Grunt, Ashe, follows him around and acts as an interpreter. Talking directly to Lonnie is always "..." before the grunt buts in to explain what he's trying to say.
-When defeated by the player, he'll turn to the grunt, signing furiously, only for the grunt to exclaim "I can't say that to a child!" before Lonnie leaves in a huff.
- During the Delta Episode he's fought at the Magma Hideout, without Ashe, absolutely Livid about what Zinnia did to Maxie, and fighting the player as soon as they enter, seeing them as just something else that'll upset his dad. Team: Crobat, Camerupt, Mightyena, Walrein.
- Post Delta Episode, you'll actually find him alone in a house on the Battle Resort. When talked to, he still won't talk, but after interacting with him Maxie walks in to explain that he and his son were there, trying to lay low, relax a bit, and they're waiting on "a certain someone" to show up for a talk.
Alpha Sapphire Version, aka the Canon Version-
- Not very active story wise, always seen rather ominously popping up mere seconds after an interaction with Team Aqua. He doesn't have an interpreter this time, so all the player really gets is "...." then a yes/no text box before he leaves.
- Appears on Mt. Chimney with Maxie to try and stop Team Aqua's little attempt. Maxie will actually translate some of what Lonnie's trying to say, and while it would be nice, he doesn't exactly explain Why Lonnie tends to be tailing Team Aqua, Archie most specifically
-And ho boy. When Kyogre gets awoken, this poor man is having the Worst day.
- In Sootopolis, he's seen quite visibly shaking, signing Something at Archie, who might be having a "Oh shit." moment and a half because his Son is VERY MUCH AFRAID OF WATER, AND VERY MUCH CAN. NOT. SWIM.
- So yeah. Not a fun time.
- Half of what he's signing is ruined by how shaky his hands are. Ashe looks ready to strangle Archie, and Dew is reeling from the reality and Actually starts cursing Archie out as soon as the player leaves to handle Kyogre.
- Tbh if the two boys didn’t start trying to murder Archie first, Maxie might’ve.
- When Kyogre is captured, when the player leaves and all is said and done, he gives the player a piece of Cameruptite with a small little Thank You note.
- Battle Resort/Battle Maison, he is once again found in a house, but this time Maxie is already there. And once the player talks to the two, Archie walks in, but when that happens, the player is asked to leave so they can have a Family chat.
Sun & Moon Games-
- Okay this is just me being self indulgent and including him in my favorite games of the series, plus it’s just neat.
- Basically, he’s there on a honeymoon with Ashe and Dew.
- Even after the teams disbanded, he’s very partial to his Magma outfit. Only real change coming coming from the removal of the Magma symbols on his vest. Still keeping the combined symbols on his mask.
- More or less appears as a cameo. The only reason they’re even having a Honeymoon in Alola is because it has both Water and Volcanos near eachother.
- Shows up in post game, investigating the Altar of the Sunne/Moone as the idea of other worlds really peaked his interest.
- Funny Images: 6′0″ string bean and a 5′7″ man with average muscle trying to carry a 6′5″ man with muscle from hell because the waves touched him and he freaked out.
Ultra Sun & Moon Games -
- Mostly the same.
- With the addition of the player actually getting his help against Rainbow Rocket
- When reaching the mansion, Lonnie will be there. Along with Ashe and Dew.
- He’ll then “ask” which side the player wants to take on, fighting either Archie or Maxie depending on choice. Vs. Archie, he takes Ashe with him, Vs. Maxie, he takes Dew. The other of his husbands goes with the player to help handle the other boss.
- After this, you can find Lonnie, Dew, and Ashe at the battle tree.
- Funny Images: Trying to get Lonnie onto Aether, a man made island in the middle of the ocean.
Pokespe Version -
- His age is more me throwing darts at a board trying to guess when shit happens.
- He’s alot more playful and joking in this version.
Ruby Sapphire Chapter -
- 16
-Actually adopted prior to the Ruby&Sapphire Chapter, but in a surprising twist, stays mainly with Archie.
- Interacts with Ruby and Sapphire once, maybe twice through the whole Manga.
- Hard for Archie to be intimidating with a giant of a teen in a life jacket clinging to him everytime they get near water, but he makes it work
- He stays with Arche and team Aqua for two reasons and two reasons only
- One, he lacks past trauma with Kyogre in pokespe, thus doesn’t fear water as much and can stand to be around it more. Two, alchoholics scare him more than water ever could.
-Along with that, Archie also has the safer public persona, so win win on his part
- Lonnie, being a teen, does tend to wander though. Barely seen for most of the chapters. When Archie and Maxie have their fight, he's there for a split second, before letting out his Crobat and fleeing.
-I don't have it all ironed out, but basically, the whole battles between Magma and Aqua through the whole arc have slowly built up this fear in Lonnie's brain when it comes to his dad's, and this is the tipping point.
- Sadly, both leaders are a bit preoccupied to notice at first that he's gone, and it's a fullblown panic after the fact.
-Sadly tho, this doesn't slow down their plans. But Blaise and Amber are put in charge of trying to track him down and find him.(Not in a bad way, more in a Extremely worried parents with a missing son way)
- Cue end of arc.
Emerald Arc
-still 16
-Makes brief cameos, he tends to linger around the back.
- Actually, screw it, I'll make this pretty later but he and Emerald do become friends.
- Has a small interaction with Emerald, writing about how he finds his equipment cool, and is in awe of how he calms pokemon.
-And boy oh does this lead to some Fun
- Cut the confrontation with Guile in the cave, the first Jirachi attempt
- Alot changes here.
- First of all, while Jirachi still escapes, Guile lingers for a moment. Looking at Lonnie for a long moment. And while he does 'reflect' back the attacks with his sword, he sends the attack flying off into a wall instead of at Emerald and Lonnie.
- Later, Guile actually snatches the poor kid, pulling off somewhere just to have a few moments to make sure he's okay
- If you know the manga, you know it's gonna be revealed to Lonnie at this point that Guile is, in fact, Archie. And while he tries to avoid the details, he does tell Lonnie he needs Jirachi to fix things
- Lonnie assumes, sadly naive, that this has to do with Maxie and their family. Even asking Archie where his other dad is, only to be met with silence.
- That doesn't settle well with him, actually demanding to know what happens, atleast as much as you can demand when you can’t talk. The last he heard about them was nearly destroying Hoenn so what happened?
- Archie doesn’t tell him, straight up Refuses to tell him what happened.
- This does not go well. Leading to Lonnie once more running off.
- Lonnie keeps in touch with Emerald after the arc is over, basically adopted him as a little brother because they’re both weird looking kids, Emerald being unusually short, and Lonnie having Vitiligo.
- He runs into Amber after this and kind of just, vibes there, treats Amber like an uncle, and that’s who looks after him for the next few years.
ORAS Arc -
- 20
-Lives with Amber, mostly helping the man with fishing and all around, just trying to have someone around he can 'talk' to without needing an interpreter or to write down every word he says.
-Team Aqua....2!
-He does end up joining the New Team Aqua, since he feels more safe with them in Pokespe. Along with this, he’s curious about where they came from and what’s going on here.
-Looks most like my concept sketch for him in this version.
- Eventually just, disepears in the midst of fighting. He's learned enough and doesn't want to face that all.
- Listen when I tell you. When he sees Maxie and Archie, he's pissed.
-And when The Dustening happens...
- He actually does cry. Hell, it's probably the only time he speaks, begging in a hoarse voice he never uses for his dad's to stay there. Just for once. Let them be a family just for Once.
- It doesn't work.
- Funny Images: Emerald, looking up at Lonnie who is like 3-4 times their height: “I AM GOING TO STEAL YOUR KNEECAPS!!!!” Lonnie, amused, signing: “You-can-try.”

- Are this chapter is where he would have started dating Dew and Ashe, having met them when that whole, other Team Aqua & Magma were made in ORAS.

An Annotated Mass Effect Playthrough, Part Eight

I accidentally messed up the numbering on part Seven’s link to post six, so if you missed post six (or yesterday’s part seven), the numbering up there is correct.
Wherein we get back out into the galaxy, explore, help some people, and kill some others!
So now that we have Liara, it’s time to really dig into the galaxy. We have a few people we talked to on the CItadel who need help, and maybe we’ll stumble into a few more things along the way.
First of all, let’s check out the galaxy map...

Petra Nebula!? Oh hey, another new addition by the ME1 Recalibrated mod.
Gorgeous map, only one system available.
Heeeey we recognize this place, we’ll get to go there in.... two games!
Can’t land there (or anywhere in the system) but it’s cool that it exists! There are a couple of other neat little things in the system I didn’t screenshot so that you can have a cool new experience yourself if you decide to use the mod on your next playthrough.
What I really miss from ME3, by the way, is the % markers which note when you’ve fully explored a system or if there’s more stuff to find there.
Anyway, my PLAN had been to take a screenshot of each planet or spacecraft before I entered it to help orient the playthrough better, and then the non-screenshotting couple of hours happened, so we lost some of that along the way, sorry.
Still, let’s see what kind of trouble we can get ourselves into.

Honestly they should have put one of these prefabs in ME3 for Old Times Sake. (The ones that actually look like homes/labs/whatever make so much more sense.)

This guy thought he could sneak past me. Well me, my shotgun and my 20 shield strength sure showed him.
ME1 combat is so... messy though. I mean, I honestly still enjoy it, but I’m in the camp that agrees combat gets better every game, Andromeda included. Of course, I just REALLY LOVE Vanguarding in ME3... charging into a group of enemies, hitting Nova, spamming charge again praying that I’ll find a good target to charge to in time. ME1 combat is basically all just... spam abilities from cover and hope your companions are doing something useful. Being a Vanguard is more about style over substance in ME here. I mean you do get some really useful abilities, but your shotgun isn’t that much use unless things get too close.
Which, you know, they do pretty often.
Anyway, remember... I WILL DESTROY YOU!!!
FUCK I hadn’t been back to the Citadel to pick up Nassana Dantius’ quest yet. Let’s just reload the quicksave from outside and we’ll... come back and do this the right way later and see the entire quest.
I do this more often than I care to admit.
Also no screenshot for this but... I also found Wrex’s personal quest planet and recognized it only when I saw the building, since it’s in a pretty memorable location. Still, grabbed everything else off the planet so it’ll be quick when it’s time to go back and do that quest.
Well let’s go back to poking around the galaxy.

Ah, yeah, hey Hackett. What’s that? You’ve got some dirty work you need me to do for you? Cool, be right there.
Before the ME2 DLC Arrival came out, Hackett was one of Mass Effect’s biggest mysteries. Who is this guy? Why is he telling us to do things? Does he have some secret agenda? Why is he so sketchy? Our Shepards seemed to trust him but WOW he sure did send us on some touchy missions. Speculation was all over the place on what he looked like and what he was really doing.
Turns out, he’s just a pretty cool guy who wants you to take on all the secret spy missions the Alliance doesn’t want to take credit for.
I wish I’d saved it, but just a week or two ago I saw a pretty great post circulating about Hackett. He IS the guy that’s going to make sure a job gets done, even if he’s not going to do it himself. He’s the back-room Admiral with the squeaky clean image up front. He’s the Gus Fring of the Alliance.
Also getting Lance Riddick to voice him was great. Just a real authoritative, steady guy who you actually want to trust.
And it turns out he looks basically exactly like most people thought, but maybe with a few more scars. (I mean, he really looks a lot like Lance Riddick, tbh) But we don’t know that yet. For now, let the mystery be.
Time to actually go help someone.
Ah yeah, Chairman Burns, we do negotiate with terrorists, in this case. But they needed negotiating with.
Maxing out the Paragon-meter is worth it for moments like this. These guys have probably suffered and it’s no surprise that no one has really listened. Sounds like a lot about the galaxy hasn’t changed since we got out there.
This is also an excellent moment for Kaidan.
Being able to let Kaidan reason with them is fantastic. Although he probably ultimately doesn’t make a difference mechanics wise, it’d be nice if maybe the check is easier if he’s here. I don’t know. But Kaidan knows, even if he’s one of the “lucky” ones who “only” gets migraines.
One of the grossest posts I’ve seen about Kaidan are people who argue she shouldn’t be on the team because of his implants and since he has a “disability”. Or that it’s “kinder” to sacrifice him on Virmire. That’s some real gross ablism you’ve got there.
Anyway, I love being able to keep this situation under control. Burns actually comes through if you do, even if those guys probably go to prison for awhile for terrorism. Better than being dead.
Time for... another planet!
Again, didn’t take a screencap of this one but... there’s a missing survey team? I must have picked this quest up in the elevators, because normally you get it on Noveria. Anyway, Let’s go find them on Trebin, I’m sure they just can’t broadcast anymore or something. It’s cool

I was all ready to blame this on Cerberus, but creepily, there’s no explanation for who huskified them or why. I’m still going to blame Cerberus, seems like something they’d do.

Honestly, I can’t believe anyone who says ME1 isn’t beautiful.

Oh there’s a camp up ahead, we’re here to find the remaining crew of a crashed ship for our new friend in the Citadel Tower.
Again, no footage/screenshot but eventually you find where the mercenaries tracked down Willem (the brother) and killed them. Shit. We were too late. I actually tear up sometimes telling Garoth that his brother died. They held out for awhile, too, but we were too late.
It would have been nice if, say, if the very first thing we did after leaving the Citadel was to come here, we could have saved him, but I guess this quest is another way of Bioware telling us that sometimes, there’s just nothing you can do to change things.
One more quest this update, then we’re stopping back off at the Citadel next.

One of my favorite landing sequences, just because the stars make it so... dramatic.
I mean DAMN.
Klendagon's most striking feature is, of course, the Great Rift valley that stretches across the southern hemisphere. What is most fascinating about the Rift is that it does not appear to be natural. The geological record suggests it is the result of a "glancing blow" by a mass accelerator round of unimaginable destructive power. This occurred some thirty-seven million years ago.
It took a solid three minutes of Flycam flying to get that closeup shot, btw. I actually flew all the way in the first time I came here, and didn’t take screenshots. Took about six minutes. The updated texture is impressive.
Well, Hackett sent us here, let’s deal with Major Kyle.
Being nice and non-threatening gets you into places.
I’ll admit, before I came in here, I decided to cheat in enough paragon points to max out Paragon already. For me personally, I’m trying to make sure this is an “ultimate” playthrough, a save file I can just use over and over from here on out. I want everything to import into ME3 the first time around with all the plot flags set how I want them without messing with Gibbed’s Savegame Editor, so making sure I can convince everyone how I want them to is important. So hey, Major Kyle, stand down.
I don’t think I’ve ever played as a Ruthless Shepard in ME1, or if I have, it’s been so long I’ve forgotten how it goes. But he was the commanding officer at the battle of Torfan, and your CO if you’re Ruthless. He’s also a reminder of how serious PTSD can be, and what it can do to a person.
I also love this tidbit from the Wiki, which I didn’t know since I’d never done these particular choices before:
(In Mass Effect 2) If Martin Burns was not saved in 2183, a news report on the Citadel will announce that Kyle is trying to form an all-biotic community as the reparations were not given to L2 biotics and they have become even more alienated from galactic society.
I really liked that if you reason with him, he doesn’t give you any trouble and turns himself in like he says.

May 21: The 100 2x11 Coup De Grace
It’s late, my computer’s more tired than I am (and hardcore hates me and very well may decide to eat this entire post who even knows), and this is probably a bad idea but I’m gonna do it anyway.
Or at least start.
Another episode, or partial episode, of The 100.
This opening torture sequence makes me so uncomfortable. Which like I get is the point but tbh I’m just not into ‘look how unflinching we are at the realities of Bad Stuff.’ Especially when my tired computer is skipping and the sequence becomes, like...trippy. Trippier.
This is probably a super bad idea because my computer literally cannot handle video lol. I am going to restart it.
It’s actually kind of nuts that Monty’s been missing for 2 days and Harper even longer and Jasper and Maya are like ‘this is weird and upsetting but I guess we’ll find them somewhere!!’ Well, Maya more than Jasper. Mount Weather isn’t THAT big.
“You have to look like nothing’s wrong. Like everything’s okay” is so sad. I think it’s situations like that that make S2 my favorite, just b/c I’m a sucker for scenarios of enclosed tension. Like, forget war and blah blah blah, I want this, like... secretive, spying, being spied upon, uncertainty. That’s the real horror in a satisfying way.
Gosh his haircut is awful though.
When does Clarke learn to ride a horse?
I have literally no idea what’s happening bc I rewatch these eps so infrequently.
Clarke just got “yes ma’amed.” I find that semi-hilarious, not because she’s 18 but because you knew Grounders used words like “ma’am.”
I love Clarke’s single-mindedness. “We can’t stop for water. We can’t stop for anything. We’re on a mission. And Bellamy might have called!” AWWNH!Clarke is so OOC lol but she has a different background okay?
I’m not really in the mood to trust Abby about anything. Does she... actually make good decisions? I feel like you’d have to track her through all of the seasons but I am inclined to say...perhaps......not.
So the Mountain Men tried to assassinate Clarke and Lexa. Completely forgot about that.
The introduction of Echo. I just... I just have no opinions on her, I guess. Literally my only opinion is that she should have been the Ice Queen and, not being the Ice Queen, she’s just not interesting to me. I will say, she couldn’t have been in Mount Weather long if she knew who the Sky People are, as they’ve only been on the ground about a month. But also...why does she hate them? They were only fighting with Trikru, and Azgeda territory isn’t even, like, in the vicinity.
I love Dante but he has some major balls looking Jasper in the face and saying he doesn’t know where his friends are. I mean, he doesn’t, because Cage stole them, but how do you just MISPLACE people in a 600,000 square foot bunker? Where COULD they go?
I’m sure I’ve said this before but as someone who went to a high school with a uniform I find it HIGHLY unrealistic that all these teenage boys tuck in their shirts and keep them tucked in all the time without exceptions.

So it was MW that told them there were no Ark survivors. Did I know that? Did I forget that? Not that it matters as my Clarke/Maya fic is done lol.
Dante is the most Hilarious and Wonderful of all of the attempted father figures on this show I said what I said--they’re all terrible but at least he bring the Weird Father Figure energy to 11. I’ll lie to you but it’s to protect you, call you son (always weird), super good at self-defense--ah-ha! sword at at your neck!
“This is not a toy.” If the sword is in MW it’s probably Important and Famous.
IMO and I completely stand by this assessment, it’s harder for Jasper to be brave than it is for other people, and he was really brave, and it worked, and I’m proud of him.
I realize this is also a problem with the literal world but we actually do know that torture isn’t effective so Indra being all upset that she’s not allowed to torture Emerson is just so....exhausting to me. Like Clarke isn’t suggesting not torturing him bc she loves the high ground and must walk it at all times. She’s suggesting not torturing him bc the last time she tortured someone, she got 0 good information. And even though neither of them know it, it was the shit information garnered from torture that led Finn to TonDC! Also if they had let Emerson die, the Grounder would have also still died--it’s not that they chose to use resources on one and not the other. They had two different types of wounds. I mean I guess if they’d brought them in faster without patching up Emerson in the field? That’s probably what she meant. However the Grounder Death Cult and their complete willingness to declare their fight over at the merest papercut makes me again less sympathetic to this point of view.
I’d literally already forgotten that someone tried to assassinate Clarke like an hour earlier. Abby doesn’t need to be concerned about that, lol, Clarke’s used to it!
Okay first I did have a longstanding headcanon that Echo had a crush on Bellamy going way back--I mean that’s practically canon, yeah?--but now I’m super convinced because in their second scene together, he sacrifices himself for her using information she gave him (that MW takes the loud/strong looking ones), even though she greeted him by spitting in his face, and actually, that was very heroic and selfless of him. I’d fall in love too.
Second, I thought she had no tattoos because she’s a spy or w/e but I CLEARLY see tattoos on her legs. And they are not white either.
I don’t think I ever realized that Maya found Bellamy because she was in the infirmary/harvest chamber looking for Harper and Monty. I do not have a good memory for each scene leading into the next. AND she think she’s found them when she sees how fast the random patient’s treatment is working, because that has to be a Sky Person and she would never guess Bellamy.
They really do just talk about their little torture machine casually all the time. “I need to go over the treatment schedule so I know how many cages to clear.”
Hey so like how did Maya get in if she’s not cleared for this facility?
What a wonderful time to remember yet again that if Bellamy knows who Maya is from her reference to Jasper, Clarke, who saw Maya and Jasper flirt like ONE TIME, must have told him about them, which is cute and funny all at once.
Maya: “I wanted to see what was so special about him, but... he’s dead.” Bellamy: Ah yes! I’m dead! * immediately closes his eyes * Why am I laughing so hard at this?
Good thing they take dead bodies down slowly instead of just thunking them on their heads.
Maya, Bellamy, and Echo v. Lovejoy is a pretty satisfying fight. Also, what did Clarke just say about Emerson talking b/c they saved his life? Echo helps Bellamy because he saved her life. Sometimes you get more flies with honey.
I tend to forget that Bellamy literally strangled this guy with his bare hands. Like it was self-defense to some degree, in that this had to be a fight to the death, but it was also just pure fucking rage. Like he said, he (like Clarke for a while) wants to kill everyone in the Mountain.
And then he thanks Echo and asks Maya if she’s all right. A True Catch. Tbh I could see something forming out of Echo and Bellamy here, but not after some of the later twists and turns in the later narrative.
Honesty, I’ve always loved Maya but... let’s just appreciate her, shall we? That was horrific, seeing someone she knew killed in front of her--and helping, because she knew he was on the wrong side, even though that was the same side she’d been on her whole life. Is she completely in the moment, or is she already seeing that there’s no way out for her here? That the people they’ve brought into the Mountain are really going to destroy it?
Bellamy coming out in Lovejoy’s clothes looks like a kid trying on new clothes at the mall before the new school year. Except he’s just dumped a body down a trash chute.
Like “I’ll come back for you, I promise”--I can see a basis for a ship in that. So far it is 100% built on how Echo would have to be dumb not to fall in love with Bellamy but still.
This Maya and Bellamy scene is amazing. I love every aspect of it.
Lemme just...watch that Jonty hug on repeat.
Honestly they even ended the scene with them walking out the door together even though there’s no way anyone could have moved Harper that fast and there’s also no indication of who moved her or how. Guess she’s...not that important...?? LOL??
Kane has only two modes: fairly ineffectual bastard or utterly ineffectual neo-hippie. “You’re not grasping the situation! We’re nice! Be nice to us!” I probably shouldn’t mock him bc he is me lol, I also would not know what else to say to Emerson other than ‘please????’ but still. Common sense and peace and love would be great but those aren’t shared values I guess.
And then he goes 180 to ‘let’s torture him then?’
What you should be doing is good cop bad cop. Or like, wearing him down with repeated questioning? I heard that’s an effective interrogation technique, although here Emerson has a certain advantage of time and that his interrogators are way more easily annoyed than he is easily worn down or confused.
Anyway I remember now. Clarke ultimately solves this problem with that ultimate BDE moment, sending him with a message and 6 hours of oxygen. She really is just the Smartest.
At least Kane acknowledges that the Chancellorship is a completely random title since Abby literally just kinda stole it? Like Jaha is the rightful Chancellor and Kane is the second-most-rightful Chancellor and she’s just sorta...there? But it also doesn’t matter because as established, Clarke is the one actually in charge.
This Bellamy and Maya elevator scene is also the kind of tension that I like. Is Bellamy...legitimately considering shooting him? In the elevator? That would end badly lol. He has this idea to just start randomly offing people in public/enclosed places, while Lexa is all like ‘we can’t save TonDC bc it would blow Bellamy’s cover!’ like the irony.
I wonder if the MW classes are like...to some end, like, mandatory schooling that must be completed, or if they’re just like for funsies? I think the second, partially because it’s an “Expressionist class” which doesn’t seem like the Three Rs and partially because this dude doesn’t seem upset that Maya didn’t show, like he’s just vaguely wondering where she was.
“We’ve accomplished great things” in that tone is like the MOST American thing I have ever heard. (I can say this because I’m American.)
“We’ve been bleeding people to stay alive for generations. That’s our legacy” is true in the sense that Dante’s line in the sane is...truly in the sand. But also has it been ‘generations’? I’m not sure you understand how time works, show-as-a-whole. I mean maybe this is technically true? They probably discovered Grounders like....50 years ago? Which is sort of “generations.” But when you say it like that it makes it sound way longer.
You wanna root for Dante over Cage because he’s on the side of our heroes but in terms of like bitter logic Cage has the advantage. What they’ve already done and what Dante has managed to rationalize to himself is bad enough. They’re already Doing Bad Things, doing yet more bad things isn’t going to bother anyone. Especially when these extra bad things (1) come out to the same--torturing/killing people and (2) lead them to a permanent home on the ground.
I wonder if Dante/MW justified what they did to Grounders with stories of them being like...irradiated mutants. Like literally inhuman. So it ‘doesn’t count.’ I mean objectively they’re wrong of course but I mean in their heads. And then for Dante the line is so obvious between killing radiation casualties and killing just normal humans like themselves, whereas for Cage--who sees the Grounders more because of Cerberus, and knows they don’t look that much different, that they are also just people underneath the masks and big clothes--sees no difference between the Grounders and the Sky People, and if he’s already sullied himself by using one set, he can continue sullying himself, for a greater cause, by using the other set. It’s just a question of which story you’re telling yourself and how much you’re willing to lie.
The plotting of this season is, overall, very good. Especially in the second half.
I think Clarke’s default mode when stressed is order giving. It’s part of the control thing. She’s okay if she has everything under control, and if she knows everything, and when she has all that knowledge and control it just...spills out of her, directing people with what they need to do and where they need to go.
Whereas Raven’s in full ‘falling out of love with Clarke’ mode.
Also I think Clarke is very quick to comfort people and she is genuine in this but because she ALSO has her agenda and her strident tone and her controlled demeanor, it can look like manipulation. Or at least, if I were her friend, I would always wonder if she really cared or if she just wanted me to calm down so my emotions weren’t in the way of The Plan.
My 15 second Raven, Clarke, and Octavia scene. Lemme just rewatch this a bunch of times too.
“Jackson found genetic marker anomalies that can only come from someone born on the Ark.” Remember when people were theorizing that this was a big deal in some way? The Arkers were genetically modified to withstand space? I remember that being a theory. Anyway in retrospect, it’s just a Plot Device. Possibly a Pseudo-Science Plot Device I would not know.
Never mind. “We were genetically engineered. They weren’t.” So it is in fact canon, just meaningless canon. HOW IS THIS SOME RANDOM THROWAWAY LINE?
Clarke’s feral moments are the best.
It’s cute how Abby continues to think Clarke isn’t in charge.
Having Bell run into Lovejoy’s son is cheap but effective. I still remember that scene and I can really feel the full effect on him through Bob’s acting and the music. I also always remember that line “What did you expect you’d find here?” Because the answer is obviously ‘monsters.’ They had their simple narrative too: about how MW were the bad guys and thus they could destroy them all and it would be vengeful and feel good. But it’s more complicated than that: everyone in the Mountain is complicit in terrors. But many of them passively so. Bellamy was ready to kill all of them, and so was Clarke, but he changes his mind based on this encounter, tells her about it over the radio, and makes HER change her mind and in fact change her entire plan, by the time she explains it in 2x15.
And it’s sad for Maya too because Bellamy is being aided by her but she is still a Mountain Person. It’s easy to say ‘she’s an exception, she’s Jasper’s friend, she’s our friend.’ But she’s done everything he hates the Mountain for. If the whole Mountain is evil, she’s evil. And to the extent you can’t be both pro-MW and pro-Sky People, she’s put in this impossible position of choosing sides, or trying to switch sides abruptly. Bellamy sees that, and it’s like yet one more additional layer to his guilt over what he did, because he sees a new angle to how it affected Maya, without whom he’d be dead.
Jonty the leader couple. And Jasper’s face when Monty says “We’re not safe here.”
S2 is my favorite bc of plotting like this episode: just as the 47 are about to leave, Cage stages his coup. Just as Bellamy is about to see his friends, the doors lock and they’re trapped. The moment when Jasper sees Bellamy--with absolutely no reason to believe this could even be possible. In trying to plan fics that use S2 I tend to get confused about the plot bc it goes back and forth and circles around a lot, but in actually watching it, it’s quite effective, and I think part of the circling confusion is just bc there are so many moving parts, people need to be in the right places at the right times, meet and separate at the right moments, so it can read awkwardly in summary. But they did a good job ultimately, I think.
Another thing about S2 generally is that even though it’s much more expansive than S1 in terms of locations and number of characters and groups of characters, ultimately almost everything revolves around one story (except for the CoL setup stuff), and 2 main locations that have meaning, with various points in between. So it is more concise and more centralized and more meaningful than later seasons, which become increasingly spread out and disjointed. Or so I try to explain to myself at 1am.
Yaaaay emotional Princess Mechanic and then Bravenlarke. I live for these moments when characters are just like...emotional together.
I don’t know if I find it realistic that Clarke would be like ‘it’s over’ so fast but nevertheless I like Raven and Bellamy picking her back up.
Clarke’s relieved face...she’s in love.
Bellamy: I’m fine. Me: He’s a liar!!! But I guess they can talk about his emotions later.
When they’re all together, they’re all better. Like immediately. Even Clarke’s “Raven’s going to help you” with a little look to her, like, this isn’t an order, and Raven nods....
I love that Bellamy took Maya’s expression to mean “It’s not a problem” when it quite obviously meant “It’s a huge problem.” But also Clarke smiled for .05 seconds so I think she knew he was a-lying. This could be a sitcom if it were a totally different show.
Weirdly, I watched part of 2x15 again for a fic I decided not to write atm and...they don’t actually use the Grounders as a Trojan Horse army. Their plan NOT to kill everyone including the kids meant basically that they used their real army as a distraction and then just took the inside-Grounders out the back way. Or that was the idea. Which in retrospect is actually kind of disappointing.
Clarke’s power walk through the hallway with her Grounder Entourage is just so....satisfying. This is the emotional payoff that got me into this show.
Clarke just literally staging a coup against her own mother, using the Grounder force that sees her as a leader, is so.... I feel like I have never appreciated it before this rewatch. I think in the past I found it kind of annoying tbh. But this time I like it a lot more. I like Clarke’s just insane levels of confidence and self-assurance. It is a good look.
First of all the parallel to the Wallaces. But more importantly, I always wanted this big story line of Delinquents Versus Arkers that never fully came as I wanted it, but this is pretty close, where she’s just used to being in charge by now, so you know what, she is. And the only thing she needs to make her desire for power real is muscle, which she has, thanks to Lexa, so she uses it. It’s also very satisfying. And should ultimately have been the groundwork for the delinquents to form a separate community but WHAT DO I KNOW?
All that said, and this isn’t contradictory, but Clarke picks like the MOST inflammatory way to go about her plan. She just does it, she gives no explanation, she stages a showdown at the gate with her own Mom the Chancellor. There is a subtler way of doing this. But I like that she didn’t do subtle because it’s IC for her. It’s IC for her age (who is more Dramatique than a teen?) and it’s IC for her place in her hero’s arc: under L’s influence, she’s becoming big-headed, leaning into the sin of pride, here in the form of “I do can do no wrong,” and by 2x16 in the form of “I can do no right, no one has ever been more wrong than I, no one has ever been more sorrowful than I, let me perform penance in the woods.”
Pride: the most annoying deadly sin.
Anyway.
And Kane, who always bows to the Alpha Female in the room, immediately enables Clarke’s Drama.
“Let our people go and we’ll let you live. It’s just that simple.”
“The Grounder army is bigger than you think and the acid fog can’t hurt them” is honestly a bluff though? Because again, they do not use or even PLAN to use the inside Grounders and they DO plan to take out the acid fog so??? I guess the point, if she was protecting Bellamy, WAS the bluff, WAS the distraction.
I think it was unnecessary to take out his O2 but I guess she’s really just showing off, which again is IC and I guess has the purpose of showing MW she means business and is Not To Be Fucked With. Still, it is important that her message make it to MW since it’s the distraction Bellamy asked for, so it seems like something of a risk to make it hard for the messenger to arrive home safely.
I do like that she gets to use that classic retort “That sounds like a you problem.”

An Elusive Computer Post
Y’all, 99.999% of the time, I exist on my phone and tablet. It’s very rare that I do any Fandom Stuff or social media on my laptop. But tonight, after This Episode, I had to break out the big guns. I need to be able to type as fast as my brain screams words. tl;dr: EVERYTHING IS THE WORST AND I HATE IT. Hey I’ll do a fun little page break so you don’t have to scroll past this whole thing if you don’t want to. How nice of me.

OPENING SCENE AND ERIN’S ALREADY YELLING AT PEOPLE. COOL.
JUST DON’T with this foster parent (allegedly) killing a foster child thing. Foster parents have enough of a negative perception as it is... a foster parent who “cracked” and killed a child in her care certainly won’t help. And I know this won’t turn into a well-done, thoughtful Discourse on the lack of support and resources for foster parents who are caring for children with complex needs. So I hate it.
I’m so, so, so sad for this child.
Sidenote re: Sam saying “I’ve already got a mom” (explaining why he didn’t call his foster parent “mom”) - okay, BB, one actual sensitive portrayal here, thumbs up.
Welp Erin’s boss is an asshole but so’s everyone else on this show. What else is new?
And now Sam is locked out of his new foster home. Another nice tally in the Negative Portrayal column. This is disgusting. His appreciation for his previous foster parent is obvious (this kid’s a ten times better actor than fucking Will “Dead Face” Estes at this point) and I hate this entire concept. At least the show’s portrayal of the child in foster care himself is positive.
Now Sam’s at Anthony’s house and this is off topic, but for half a second can we appreciate that Sam is also a bajillion times better at apologies than Jamie Reagan? Nice.
If Anthony becomes Sam’s foster parent I will be SO ANNOYED. One, because I’m sure the show won’t even hint at an accurate process - it’ll be insta-parent, Anthony walks into some caseworker’s office and walks out with physical custody of a child (fun fact: it takes three months or longer to get licensed as a foster parent). Two, because it’s kind of another blow to the reputation of foster parents that this episode is painting - like the only suitable foster parent in a whole city of veteran, trained, experienced FPs is this newbie? This does not taste good.
This is a cute scene. Rather than Anthony being Sam’s foster parent, how about he becomes his mentor?
OH. NICE. EXACTLY WHAT I DIDN’T WANT. “I’m going to sign the papers later today. I’m going to foster Sam myself.” Can we please get some follow-up on this, BB? Let’s please see Anthony trying to navigate the waters of parenting a teenager who likely has attachment-related diagnoses and other challenges. Is Anthony going to get trauma-informed care training? Or is he just going to wing it and hope that it’s all magical and swell? Does he have a sensitive, non-snarky bone in his body? I’m on the edge of my seat. (LOL @ Erin being the voice of reason here.)
OH. WHOA WHOA WHOA. “It’s not like I always wanted a son, but one came knocking and I answered the door.” Remember that line above where Sam reminded us that he has a mom? Do you understand why this line made me gag? There’s a fine line you walk as a foster parent, where you’re performing all the duties of parenting this child as if they’re your own - but you have to remember and be sensitive to the fact that they’re not. Kids in foster care are a package deal, yo, they come with a whole other family too. For teenagers this is an especially important Issue.
This entire storyline was terrible. 0/10.
Fat Shaming (Frank and co)
Poor Witten, you guys. That is awful and terrible and dangerous that her partner can’t even make it up 4 flights of stairs. “I’m here and you’re fine” - but what if she wasn’t?
Did Sid Gormley just use the word “fat shaming” and argue that physical fitness does not affect a cop’s ability to do their job?
Cops who are on the beat should be able to pass a fairly high standard for physical fitness. The end, basically.
Family dinner (tossed in here due to the topic of conversation): Seriously? Henry’s going to talk about it being discrimination to require cops to meet a physical fitness standard that is a pretty basic aspect of their ability to do their job? Nice.
Oh, magical, Frank has come up with a Compromise that Makes Everybody Happy. Raise your hand if you’re surprised.

I’m so angry that the scene cuts off there. Did they just go about their stupid dinner date with this Tension floating palpably in the air between them? Did Eddie pull out an “I think I’ll sleep at my place tonight” and stalk away in that red? satin? dress? ? I hope she poured his stupid ON TAP IPA (objectively the worst type of beer, btw) down his shirt and walked out.
I AM SO SAD watching this scene of Eddie backing out of softball.
“I’m not much of a joiner” is a DUMB RIDICULOUS LINE and Eddie says it TWICE, folks.
Witten doesn’t bring up Jamie at all - I therefore assume she doesn’t know Eddie’s a Future Reagan (which is a whole other issue, but anyway.) . Witten thinks Eddie’s backing out so as to avoid associating with Witten. So I assume Witten’s intentions with the softball invite were totally pure. IMAGINE THAT! A woman who wants to be friends with another woman, one who she works with and respects and wants to get to know better! With no ulterior motive! Someone please hit Jamie Reagan in the nostril with a dart.
I like Witten more and more. Can we replace all the Reagan storylines with Witten, Sam, and Old Eddie in dark jeans and a studded jacket?

Do I really need to reiterate how ridiculous this whole thing is - that they’re engaged without dating, and now finding out that maybe there’s a reason people date first, even if they’re best friends, because this is the kind of stuff you work out before you start shopping for your dress.
“Are we talking, or are we just talking smack?” SOME ACCUSATION from the dumbass who said ALL THE THINGS IN THOSE BULLETS UP ABOVE.
Finally, for once, Eddie is voicing some real and legitimate concerns. Are we going to get any sort of resolution or mature adult discussion of these things? NOPE!
Did he seriously just tell her to cut it out? I hate him so much. I hope somebody duct tapes him to the front of those washer/dryers and pulls out each individual eyebrow hair with tweezers.
This laundromat scene just exemplifies so many of the issues I’ve been rage blogging about all damn season. Jamie ultimately brushing off Eddie’s concerns without ever giving her real answers. Not having the respect for her to even take her thoughts into account. Barking orders like he knows it all, and Eddie isn’t capable of making her own decisions. At least this time that’s the actual point of the scene rather than the nasty subtext.
EDDIE AND DANNY SCENE: I’m actually surprised that this is the first time Joe has been mentioned. Watching the sneak peek I figured Jamie’s main argument against Eddie joining an organization would be that it’s what got his brother killed (being vague, obviously, since Eddie clearly didn’t know the details). Not that it’s improper As A Reagan. I hoped the context of the episode would make me feel a little better about this scene but it just feels even more out of place and poorly/choppily written. I like Eddie and Danny together - I’d like them to interact more. But this didn’t do it for me. Gotta meet that Joe Mention Quota* on the season, I guess.
FINAL SCENE: in summary, FUCK THIS.
Sidenote: When is someone going to get suspicious @ how often Eddie gets pulled into Sarge’s office?
For the record, I anticipated an eye-rolly “Ohhkay, maybe I overreacted...” speech.

Jamie explains himself. Fine, he has a right to do that, and it’s constructive in helping Eddie understand the man she’s about to marry (god don’t even remind me). BUT HE DOES NOT ADMIT ANY WRONGDOING.

THERE IS NO ADMISSION THAT HE MADE MISTAKES in how he spoke to her, ordered her around, and didn’t even stop for eight seconds to listen to what she had to say
THERE IS NOT EVEN THE VERY MINIMAL “I overreacted” type of acknowledgment.
“So maybe if I forget sometimes, you can remind me” THIS IS GROSS TOO because it essentially puts the burden on Eddie to teach/remind Jamie how to HAVE AN ADULT CONVERSATION AND NOT BE AN ASS. He could AT LEAST take responsibility for his own improvement in the Future.
Eddie said literally two words in this entire scene. There was no mutual understanding, no real agreement, no genuine Development in their relationship.
THIS IS NOT A SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION TO THIS CONFLICT.

hey, it's the research project anon again. Thanks for taking time to answer :)) As for what subjects I'm interested in, I did like my quantum class. I haven't taken a real astrophysics class at my school but I took observational astronomy and an extraterrestrial life class (one of the coolest classes I've taken tbh) which I also liked. I also like earth science (weather and stuff) so it would be cool to do something with that. They surprised me with the project so I was like :0

Okay so I’m not sure what kind of equipment or professors your university has already, and also most research can’t be done by one person alone bc there’s just way too much work and you don’t have years and years in which to do it. HOWEVER, you CAN do some cool stuff as independent research, and a lot of times people end up doing a “literature review” (Idk if you’ve heard of those before or read one?) and that could be an option for you too if you have a focus for it.
Quantum is rad but unless you have a lot of background in it and some really heavy duty processing computers or a particle collider you’re not going to be able to do research in it just yet, so put a pin in that! (why is autocorrect telling me I spelled both “collider” and “autocorrect” wrong. why)
(EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE SOUNDS LITERALLY SO NEAT HOLY MOLY what was that class like????)
Observational astronomy would be easier to set up an experiment/research project for, because there’s a LOT out there that we haven’t gotten to study yet just because there’s so much mcfreakin sky to look at and there aren’t THAT many astronomers and they have to like, sleep and eat and stuff. You could do something like track the brightness of specific objects over a course of months and try to identify movements in that region or if any are pulsars or binary systems or whatever, or collab with a researcher who’s going through comet data, things like that!
Earth science is rad and you could do a lot with weather tracking/predictive modeling of some specific aspect, or tracking/charting the spread of invasive species modeling, or looking at the intensity of storms on average in a specific area and seeing if there’s a trend, etc. etc.
It wouldn’t hurt to ask around with some professors you like, too, and see if they have any specific ideas. And if you have any thoughts and want to keep bouncing them off of me, or have more specific things that you’d like more help with, hit me up too!

Weight: I have no idea--maybe somewhere in the 180s range?
Hair: Chestnut brown that pulls auburn, grows straight. For a long time he kept it shaggy but in the latter half of his career (think Hutt Cartel/SoR) he cut it short/er. When he takes back Dubrilion with Risha he may let it grow again a bit, it depends on whether or not Risha will tackle him with a pair of scissors if he does.
Skin/Fur: On the tanner side of being Caucasian.
Scars/Birthmarks/Etc.:
Those on his face (Two bold ones vertically and horizontally across the right side of his face (looking at the pic its left but..whatever) with two fainter ones alongside those. Then he has a scar/s on his left leg from an old surgery to his knee he needed to have during the class story line after a job gone wrong. Then there’s a peppering of others across his body from other various mishaps but they aren’t note worthy.
**EDIT: That old injury to his leg left him with a slight off-ness in his gait. Not quite a full force limp but if you watch him walk/run there’s a hitch and irregularity that sometimes flares up worse than other times.

Handedness: he’s right handed.
Style:
Think classic smuggler, a good pair of trousers and some manner of tucked in, plain shirt under a lightly armored jacket--Not the orange one that he is in all the time. It’s most likely a brown one with blue accents or a black one. Not orange--and a hardy pair of boots.
If he’s off the job he tends to chill around in regular old space!jeans and a long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt if he won’t die of heatstroke. He loves his sweatshirts (and Risha loves to steal his sweatshirts) and a lot of them come from different locations that they’ve been to.
Other:
He has a very noticeable Coruscanti accent! According to google that means he speaks with a Received Pronunciation (an accent form of British English). So..I guess mix that accent with the cadence/deepness level of the in game voice actor and that’s pretty close. While Rielay talks fairly loud in comparison, Emeldir speaks more softly like the only people who need to hear what he has to say are the one’s who listen, though he will raise his voice if he needs to.
Thanks to working so much with Rielay (and just in general tbh) Emeldir walks rather slow. Or rather, walks slow for someone with his stride. It drives Risha, who walks fast and on a mission, crazy that her husband ambles along unless it is a matter of great importance.

Background/Backstory:
Emeldir was born and raised in the upper levels of Republic City on Coruscant. He grew up splitting his formative years between the Senate Tower with his mother Adrianna Deryn--more on her later--and the ship hangars of his father Chridan Deryn’s business. He was a happy kid, had a good life, and was excelling in his academics and friendships.
Then when he was ten years on the Empire attacked, blockaded, and sacked Coruscant in what became known as the 0 ATC Sacking of Coruscant. His mother--a sitting Senator at the time--was taking hostage alongside the other senators not killed in the initial attack for the two days of Imperial occupation. Emeldir and his father were trapped in the Upper Level near the Senate Tower where they lived, unable to even get cross sector to reach Emeldir’s grandparents’ home. The Sacking affected him deeply and for awhile he faltered in his school work until he was only continuing to do well in his english/reading and history/social studies courses that he found interesting. His group of friends dwindled to a select few and he tended towards stress and nightmares on the regular.
By the time he hit his secondary education he hit high school he had mostly shed that dark period, though his friend group still remained small and his interest in academics still showed strongly in his English and history courses, with the others kept decent on principal. It was in those four years that he found his interest in Galactic politics and galactic history and started taking more interest in his mother’s work around the Senate and local Coruscant government. After his secondary education he was presented two good paths with an opportunity to pursue an education that could put him on the tracks to get into government himself, or a track that could land him a spot as an officer in the Republic military. While he didn’t know what he wanted to do he took up helping his father with his business while dabbling in some higher education courses to test the waters. It was in that year that he met Captain Taqq during her trouble with Chixi the Hutt.
The Captain was faced with a dilemma and where she was quite close to losing her ship and was at the time crew less. As Emeldir was tasked with doing the preliminary work on her ship he offered to help her keep it. That week of helping her with local jobs on the sly earned him her gratitude and she offered him a spot on her ship. Lured by the idea of such great freedom and adventure Emeldir put aside the paths laid in front of him and took up a spot as co-pilot on the Promise.
After a year and a half of working with Rielay Taqq she helped him get his own ship and he started building his reputation on his own as Captain Deryn. After a few steady months of work where he had built up his name with the help of Rielay he took the faithful job with Rogun the Butcher and the rest is recent history.
Personality:
Emeldir is really everything you would not expect from a smuggler. Yes, he’s got a sharp wit and an attitude of snark with a quick draw/reflexes. But he’s soft and kind hearted with a want to help people and do good. He’s got the honor code of a knight in shining armor and is more likely to put helping people above his own credit earnings.
He’s a Republic patriot with the knowledge that it has it’s flaws and he wants to work to fix them and is fascinated with why things work the way they do. He’s quite intelligent and wants to follow those pursuits of knowledge that come with so much travel, and sometimes that gets in the way of his work because no.
To the people who he chooses to be in his circle he is intensely loyal and lively, but those outside of it get a more reserved individual who is more straight to business and guarded.
(I still suck at describing personalities. Please just go and read anything under Taqq and Deryn or Questionably Legal and you’ll get it.)
Quirks:
-A lot of the times when he is solo-ing a mission he maintains contact with either someone on the Phoenix or Rielay.
-Whenever he enters/exits the bridge of the Phoenix he will tap/put his hand on the frame. What started as making sure he wasn’t going to whack his head on the frame has become an affectionate gesture towards his ship. The door frame into the bridge is the shortest, so that’s where it originates from.
-When flying he has a habit of keeping a bit of a running commentary to himself. Whether that’s commenting on various things that are going on with his ship (like “oh well there goes those maintenance lights I’ll need to check that..) or commentary on the flight/state of the hyper lanes/how other people are flying if they’re in populated space.
Disorders:
Uhh...I guess you could point towards some form of PTSD but I haven’t it enough to comfortably go into detail.
Addictions: N/A
Strengths: He’s quite intelligent and good at talking people down in jobs, he’s got a big, kind heart and an innate sense of good, thanks to Rie’s teaching he’s a good shot.
Weaknesses: Despite the fact that he’s intelligent he is extraordinarily good at charging headlong into situations instead of stopping and thinking, he’s got a big, kind heart and an innate sense of good, he puts the people he cares about above his own self or the state of his job. He tries to help everyone. Sometimes if people don’t understand what he’s saying intellectually he gets frustrated and short.
Likes: Having a strong base of people he can trust, good and honest people and jobs, flying his ship and being with his crew/family.
Dislikes: Working dishonest jobs or jobs that he’s lied to about, awful people as an umbrella term, the Republic v Empire war, most interactions in Hutt Space.
Phobias/Fears: Losing everything he’s worked for including his ship, his family, and his home. A repeat of the Sacking of Coruscant, failing at his work, disappointing the people around him.
Hobbies: Making bad puns, playing his space!violin, dancing with Risha around their ship/home, occasionally getting into Huttball, reading when he’s got the time.
Interests: Politics, history, music a little bit, learning about his crew and their backstories tbh.
Favorite movies: He usually hands control over to his crew which has let to him enjoying a wide variety of things.

Again, a wide variety thanks to tossing the remote to his crewmates, though huttball is his own occasional choice. But that depends on if he’s in the mood for it, usually he just follows the big games.
Skills/Talents: Playing his space violin, he’s a very good pilot as well, I suppose he’s got a talent for talking with people and a knack for thinking through social/political issues the same way Rielay thinks through mechanical ones.
Habits: Going onto the bridge and staring out the viewport when he needs to think, pacing when he’s thinking/stressed, playing space violin when he’s stressed, speaking through problems out loud to himself uhh...that’s all I can think of right now.
Morality/Ethics:
He always helps people before he helps himself. He will put others above his own wants/needs/desires and help the little guy without fail. Even so he draws the line with keeping the people in his inner circle safe--they come above everything.
He has a strong morale compass that he follows to a t and he doesn’t tend to deviate from it, even if Risha rolls her eyes and complains that he missed out on a great opportunity because of it.

Short Term:(through SoR) Keep his team’s moral high, keep the Republic and Empire representatives from killing each other, try to keep from dying and to hopefully defeat the Emperor.

According to google he is an ENFP-A type personality which makes sense. He’s likable and charming and can get people to rally around him. It’s what makes him so alluring to have in a political position--he’s motivated by the people, people take to him, and he isn’t pushed by greed.

Relationship History: Not really existent. He had a few “relationships” of the “oh we’re dating”, hand holding type and one in his last year of secondary school that faltered once they went their separate ways.

Family:
Adrianna Deryn: I said we’d get to her! She is a Coruscant political figure. For a long time she worked in the local city council in varying positions until serving on the council itself. From there she was elected to the Deep Core Coalition as one of the Coruscant senator’s Associated Planetary Representative. From there she was elected to a seat on the Senate and served for her two terms of six years, with the second coming to a close during the Sacking of Coruscant. After that she was kept for another 2 years before the Senate finally turned over and reelected almost all seats. She was always very close to Emeldir, as he was her only child, but also because he took after her quite closely, though she was surprised when he went off to become a smuggler.
Now, however, she sees what good he’s done and would not have had it any other way. Though she does worry for him and cringe at the danger he puts himself in for others, the Republic, and his work.
Chridan Deryn: The owner of a well known Deep Core ship security and modification business. He’s a first generation Republic citizen, with his father having been from Ziost and his mother from somewhere in the Mid Rim out of Republic territory. While he’s done work for smugglers such as Captain Zavia Torelli and Captain Taqq his work has long since expanded into contracts from the Republic military and other ship companies. He was the one that told Emeldir to follow wherever his path led him, whatever it may be and was the first to come around to that being smuggling. He took an immediate shine to Emeldir’s crew.
Friends:
Rielay Taqq: She counts as family tbh. She is 100% family who am I kidding? Emeldir’s best friend, mentor, and family who he met on Coruscant in the way described in his Background section. (Fun fact: they actually met for the first time when Rielay was working with Zav just prior to the Sacking! Rielay was 17 and Emeldir was 10; neither of them really remembered it eight years later). They are essentially grafted at the hip, as is a running joke, would die for each other or do anything for each other and are a well known duo in the smuggling world.
Esrin, Fashira and Zasharr: All of @delavairesslegacy‘s kids who are associated with Rielay are also associated with Emeldir because well..see above. He gets along well with them.
His crew: I won’t go into each and every one of them, but he’s on good terms with all of them (though things are a little tense with Gus), and he’s closest with Corso and Risha out of them all.
Ugh he needs friends. Huh. There’s probably people I’m forgetting.
Enemies:
Anyone from Skaavak to Rogun the Butcher to Senator Dodonna and uh...Darmas? I guess Actavarus as well, though they’ve yet to meet face to face. Other than that he doesn’t have a huge list of enemies coming for him. He’s a pretty well liked guy in the smuggling world.
Love Interest:
Risha, Risha is his love interest, the love of his life if you ask him. He’s head over heels for her and woulnd’t want anyone else to call his wife. They’ve seen each other through thick and thin, through near death scenarios and disasters and been each other’s rock through it all. And they’ll continue to tackle every challenge life sets in their way, from Dubrillion onward.

Google has failed me. While the exterior isn’t as noticeably changed the exterior yellow detail paint has been repainted to blue. The interior however has been personalized with a little of every crew member’s flair and become a home away from home for them all.

JuminZen Week Day 2 - Cats & Dogs
@juminzenweek Based on something that actually happened to me in real life... confusing my friend’s cat for something else jlsdkdslkjdkj xD I hope you enjoy! More under the cut <3
Cool raindrops hit his face as he exited the theater. Zen pulled his jacket up to shield his neck and mentally prepared himself for walking through the rain when something in the corner of his eye seemed to move. Turning his head, he saw the alley beside the building, littered with empty bottles, plastic bags, torn up fliers and a small cardboard box. It was nothing unusual.
Except the box moved.
Zen walked over to it and very carefully opened the flaps, desperately hoping it was just a trick of his imagination and not a huge angry rat that would bite his face off. What he saw instead, he almost thought it was a rat at first, was a wrinkled, completely furless, small animal staring up at him with big dark eyes. Its ears, too large for such a tiny head, were poised stiff and made Zen think of a dog. It backed away into a corner, scared of the giant human looming over it.
“Hello little one, why are you out here?”
There was a dirty blanket in the box, making Zen suspect someone had put this animal here. When its body shivered from what had to be both fear and the cold, Zen’s heart broke.
“You sure aren’t the prettiest puppy, are you? But that doesn’t mean you should be out here.”
Zen took off his scarf and placed it in the box, hoping it could warm up the poor thing. With no effort, he picked the box up, the puppy weighing nothing. While heading home, he noticed how the puppy started to shiver less but never stopped staring.

Exactly as 30 seconds passed, Zen’s doorbell rang. The actor groaned and gently pushed Adonis off his lap, who stared at him and the door with wide eyes from the couch, large ears perked up. Zen couldn’t help but smile at the adorable thing while he headed to the front door.
Opening it a large, heavy bag of kitty litter was shoved right into his arms.
“Put that somewhere where you would like the litterbox to be,” Jumin instantly ordered him, holding the plastic litterbox in one hand and a fancy shopping bag in the other. Zen thought that had the be the fanciest and shiniest brand name he ever saw on a bag.
“Jesus, Jumin! You can’t just drop by and barge in whenever you feel like!” Zen said, standing aside as Jumin ‘barged in’ by walking through Zen’s open door.
After the stoic businessman placed the litterbox on the ground, he put the bag on the kitchen table and started taking out cans and what looked like tiny sweaters and hats. “You said you needed help. I’m here to help.”
“Advice! I wanted advice!” Zen huffed, dropping the heavy litter on the floor with a ‘thunk’. Someone passed by giving him a curious glance, and he quickly closed the door.
“You admitted yourself the stores are closed. A litterbox and food are basic needs for a cat, Zen. At least accept them for the night.”
Zen fell quiet at that. Just as Jumin was done filling his entire table with all kinds of cat things that made Zen’s nose tingle, the businessman was suddenly distracted by a hairless kitten carefully staring at them, hiding as much of his body behind a pillow. Adonis must have gotten scared from all the yelling, Zen realized, and felt guilty.
“Is that him?” Jumin asked in awe and already strode to the couch. The kitten fell on his side, startled by the new presence, but upon Jumin offering his hand the cat’s childish curiosity won
Zen swore he saw a smile on Jumin’s face as Adonis sniffed his fingertips. “You’re right, he is quite handsome.”
“Of course he is,” Zen boasted. While Jumin was busy winning over Adonis’ heart, the actor grabbed the bowl on the floor with barely touched dog kibble. Soon it was replaced with Jumin’s overpriced kitty food and he set it near the couch on the floor.
The reaction was instantaneous, Adonis forgot everyone and everything around him, jumping down to shove his face into the bowl, devouring the food.
Zen sighed. “Thanks Jumin, he must have been starving.”
Sitting on the couch, Jumin watched the kitten eat. “He looks healthy. You have a vet visit planned?”
“Of course. What do you take me for?”
Only the tiny sounds of munching filled the air. Jumin kept staring intently at the tiny creature, and Zen’s irritation slowly dissolved. Somehow, he felt the urge to sit next to Jumin and waved the bizarre feeling away. Right after, seeing his newly discovered cat brought about more worrisome thoughts.
“Jumin… I was thinking. Maybe you should adopt him.”
Jumin straightened his back to look at Zen. “You said you wanted to keep him.”
“I considered it, but I know less about cats than dogs. What if I end up hurting him?” Cat or not, Zen couldn’t handle the idea of any animal suffering under his care. His heart raced from the thought of it alone. He bit his lip, hating this sudden anxious feeling. “He would be safer with you, we both know it.”
It was then Adonis was done with his meal, having licked every part of the bowl until he was certain there wasn’t a trace of kibble left. Then, he jumped on the couch, sniffing Jumin for a second before climbing on top of the armrest to demand attention from Zen. Zen couldn’t resist petting the little wrinkled baby.
“There is a saying that the pet chooses the owner and not the other way around. He clearly prefers you. He doesn’t trigger your allergies, he’s not going outgrow your apartment, isn’t he perfect for you?” Jumin countered, scratching Adonis on his back, causing the spoiled kitten to throw on his loud motorboat purr.
Zen had expected Jumin to accept instantly, so the actor was at a loss for words. Since when was the cat freak so nice anyway? It flustered him, causing Jumin to chuckle.
It’s almost like… we’re family, Zen thought, and Jumin must have thought the same, for the moment passed and everything suddenly felt awkward. At once, Jumin halted his petting and stood up, brushing off his suit from non-existent fur. “Rest assured that if you do mistreat the cat, I will inform the police in seconds.”
“Wha-“
“And of course, we must arrange playdates for your cat and my Elizabeth.”
In protest, Zen picked up his kitten, Adonis struggling lightly out of confusion and finally resting his paws against Zen’s chest. “What! As if I’d let my kitten anywhere near your furball! Ugh, my nose is itching again!”
Jumin rolled his eyes. “Excuse you, Elizabeth is a very refined and beautiful cat that yours could learn a lot from.
“Adonis is more beautiful than your bag of fleas ever will be!” Any trace Zen ever had of giving his pet away gone, the actor holding his cat possessively against his chest.
Zen saw the future CEO’s lips curl into a small smile before it dropped off again. “She is a queen amongst commoners. Anyone with sense would agree.” Jumin lifted his sleeve, revealing an expensive-looking watch. “I have stayed here far too long. I’m late for my evening appointment.”
Jumin, late for an appointment? Zen wondered if Jumin would risk annoying a client for a cat. Yes, of course he would. Though Zen knew he would have done the same.
“Good, get out you home invader!” Zen said, acting like he was chasing Jumin out while Jumin already opened his door.
“See you soon, Zen.” Jumin waved.
“Oh come on!” Something told Zen he wasn’t going to get out of those playdates.
After Zen shut the door behind the businessman, he sighed - out of relief, he told himself, not because of anything else. Adonis proceeded to climb onto his shoulders and Zen wondered how he could have possibly thought he was a puppy.
Hmpf, of course Jumin thinks his stupid cat is prettier. He knew he should start practicing his lines as normal, but Zen proceeded to snap more selfies of him and Adonis together and posting them in the chatroom for good measure.

day 22
Well hello again, Life on Hard Mode blog. Since I last talked to you, I completed both big deadlines at both jobs. Starting today, I now have a bit of a break: 2 weeks off from main job, and much less of the stress/deadlines thing at side job. Annnnnnd... Bae got tickets to come see me! hurrah.
So I’m counting days again, but this time I’m counting down until my sweetie shows up at my door. Since I have more time to myself now, I’m revisiting the LOHM lifestyle that I had to abandon for work, at least for the next 3 weeks. I’ll plan to check in here from today (day 22) until arrival (day 0). I probably won’t do a whole lot of blogging while bae is here, since I will be back to working 2 jobs as well as entertaining my favorite person ;)
My actual concrete plans in the next 22 days are: work at side job, go camp with a friend for a night or two, doctor appointment, #bloodweek, back to main job, manage a side job helper for a few days, and a friend visiting from out of town.
So. What were my LOHM goals, and which ones am I keeping for this 22-day mini challenge?
Diet
I wanted to follow WFPB and cut sugar. I am pretty good about that but haven’t been 100% lately. I have some junk food at home right now and I’ll finish that up but then I’m moving back to all clean WFPB, no oil, really try for the Daily Dozen, do more mindful meal planning. I’m doing protein powder now though, which isn’t WFPB but I’m fine with that.
I’ve still been doing food journaling and plan to keep it up.
One thing I kind of started doing that wasn’t an explicit goal but something I just started exploring: a week of eating really low fat to lessen the cramps, then a week of high fat to make sure I’m getting enough, then a week of focusing on high protein for muscle growth. It seems to be working for me! I want to be more intentional and continue doing that.
I am thinking that I’ll maintain at this weight for the summer, then “bulk” in the fall to see if that helps me get stronger.
Fitness
I was doing cardio progressions and strength progressions, plus daily yoga. I have done 60m every day including daily yoga.
I’ve stalled a little on the strength progressions because I haven’t had time to read up on form for the next steps, or to set up the equipment that I bought. So really working on those strength progressions is a goal for this summer. I did make a lot of the purchases that I wanted to! So I’m set and ready to get to work on getting strong.
I haven’t stalled on cardio progressions because that’s just been increasing the run:walk ratio. Because my knees are in rough shape, I’ve been wanting to find some other forms of cardio, but on the cheap (ie not swimming, spin cycling, etc). I’ve acquired some skates and I’m going to add in alternating skating/jogging on cardio days.
For the 100 day challenge I was taking BFP measurements every 10 days. I’m going to change that to once a month just to make sure I’m still on track.
Physical wellness
I had wanted to get into skincare and I did spend some time researching and I did buy I think one product. But TBH I don’t have the cash to develop a whole routine or anything like that. I’ll shelf that one for now and just try to stay mindful of moisturizing and sunscreen.
I was waiting for immunization to make some doctor appointments because it’s been a long-ass time since any smart people have looked at my health. I have made my first appointment! I have a bunch more that I need to do but first step, yay.
I cut down the vices to every other weekend for the 100 day challenge. I am most likely going to smoke during my camping trip this week but after that I’m going to go totally clean and sober for the whole 22 days to make sure I’m as fit and healthy as I can be for my bae. Shouldn’t be hard, that’s not a long commitment. I’m sure we will get to some drinks together during that visit anyway.
I wanted to add some B vitamins to my routine and I did so. Cronometer says I’m doing pretty awesome on the micronutrients so I will keep my diet/supplements pretty much as-is.
Sleep hygiene. I did try to find a sleep tracker but I couldn’t find one that I liked. So it’s just me and my self-discipline. I slept in this morning as a reward for finishing the deadlines, and I was up late last night talking to a friend. This is a big one though. Especially when my schedule is less structured I have a tendency to fall asleep at like 3am and wake up at like 9am. I’m trying to keep it to 9pm-5am and no naps. I’ve got to stop scrolling on my phone after I get into bed, and I’ve got to actually get out of bed when my alarm goes off. I’ve been daydreaming about getting one of those SAD therapy lights and hooking it up to a timer so I can make my own personal sunrise in my bedroom. Kinda pricey though so I was going to see if I could get a recommendation for which type of light from a doctor. Might be a while before I get through the list of doctors I need to see all the way down to psychiatrist. *shrug*
Posture. I have been working on it, gotta keep working on it.
Mental wellness
Last year I did 60m art every day, then cut it to 30m every day, then cut it to 30m every other day, then cut it out entirely to focus on work. I think I’m going to keep it at 30m every other day.
Bringing back reading before bed! I was almost perfect at this goal during the 100 day challenge, up until Life on Expert Mode started and I had to cut it. But I read a little last night and I want to keep it up. Just trying to decide if 30m or 45m between brushing teeth and lights out is better.
“Fun breaks”. I cut them out for LOEM. I think I was wasting too much time on fun breaks during LOHM. So I’d like to strike a balance. I think internet in the morning before work, then one more internet break about 3pm when I turn on some classical music.
Music: all through the LOHM challenge I completed my goal of listening to popular, classical, and dance music every day. Just want to keep that up.
Friend time. I kept up contacting people all through LOHM. I cut out drawing birthday cards during LOEM. I want to add that back in. I should probably reassess how much time I want to spend on each person, because there are quite a few who don’t initiate conversations or visits. Now that I have immunization and free time (amazing combo!) I want to add in socializing! That’s going to be a new goal, to see at least one person IRL every week for purely social reasons (could be a date, friend over for dinner, going someplace with friends, whatever).
Home
My typical habit has been to set aside time every 5 days to work on my own stuff. I want to keep doing that.
My LOHM goal was to focus more on pet care. I ended up with too many work commitments to add in many extras, but I definitely want to keep that on the front burner so to speak.
Main job
I have a 2 week break! No take-home work, no in-person commitments, nothin’. :-) But after that, I’m definitely still counting work time and commute time as productive hours. My side job commitments are way less stressful now, so I should be able to give my main job a lot more focus and energy, when I do get back to main job.
Side job
I completed my goal of dehoarding so that every room is functional. I still have a lot to do but no deadlines for now.
For the last couple of years I’ve done a 5-day rotation of 4 days at side job (different areas of focus) and 1 day on my own house/paperwork/emails. Now that the big deadline is out of the way, I’m still keeping a 5-day rotation but with more balance with my own life. Day 1: only my stuff. Day 2: Side job, senior care. Day 3: Side job senior care, plus making sure I do whatever yardwork tasks they need. Day 4: Digital tasks, both for me and for my seniors. Day 5: Errands, both for me and for my seniors.
During LOHM, my “transfers” (things I made up the next day if I didn’t get to it) were: workout, side job, and PT exercises. When LOEM started, I cut my transfers down to side job and PT exercises. For the next 3 weeks at least I’m going back to all 3. Being strong and fit before bae gets here is a higher priority than side job right now, so I considered doing just workout & PT, but I mean... I have a break from main job so there is no reason not to actually finish all my side job tasks.
To make a long post short, what I’m trying to say is that before my side job took over my life, I was pretty content with my LOHM wellness routines and I’d like to keep them up. At the moment, I have low work responsibilities, and I have a visitor coming to see me in 3 weeks, so I’m going to take this opportunity to focus on fitness first. After the last 10 weeks of never sitting down, and stressing about work day in and day out, I’m going to take 3 weeks to mentally check out, listen to music, and work out.

April Study Plan Updates
noticing myself falling into that rabbit hole of ‘studying too many languages, gonna neglect progress in all!’
or the similar ‘using too many resources, gonna neglect making progress in any!’

suddenly felt like refreshing my french (which future me, that study plan would be: french comprhensible input youtube videos and shadowing, reading Le Francais Par Le Method Nature and finishing it, then optionally finishing some french books). but realistically i do NOT have time right now. improving that would be a “do i need it” and then do all that for a few months straight.

Chinese is mostly on track but I’m really whittling down what I’m doing because it’s become sort of chaotic:
Chinese study plan:
1. Read anything (priority is ONLY hanshe on Pleco app, or Guardian print novel - I do not have time for anything else. My goal right now is to be at hanshe chapter 80 by the end of the month, and to get to the end of the Sundial arc in guardian because that’s how much I’ve read of the english translation so far)
2. Listen to Chinese Spoonfed Audio, shadowing when I can (I am over 1/3 through I CAN finish it, I’m putting Listening Reading off until later because that is so time intensive I need to finish at LEAST one thing I’m reading before I can carve out time. This is ultimately lower priority, but I do NOT want to see myself start from scratch again on this, and do not want to L-R method or listen to other audio until I’ve went through this).
Anything else is OPTIONAL rn I do not have time. The 2 optional activities I’m prioritizing:
a. Watching Two Souls in One, shadowing when desired (although any show would be fine but it would be nice to Not abandon a show lol)
b. go through my hanzi characters book, SPECIFICALLY practice writing and make mnemonics to remember the TONES. saying the hanzi pronunciation out loud when i write. (While this is optional I would like to do it for several hundred freaking common hanzi because like... firstly, I’m studying japanese again and Definitively knowing the hanzi pronunciation and tone and comparing it would allow me to review/test that better as i see the japanese readings - and help me keep them firmly separate as HANZI WITH SOLIDLY AUDIBLE TONE versus japanese readings. Because right now a LOT of hanzi i ‘partly’ know i know the initial-final-meaning of and can recognize in reading and tend to just sub-vocalize when i read with no-tone or a tentative guess, and all those ‘partly known’ i really do not want to get mixed up with japanese. Thankfully it is pretty hard to confuse shou3 and te 手, or zu2 and ashi 足, because the japanese words sound pretty firmly japanese pronunciations and those hanzi are pretty hard imprinted in my head with their pronunciation in chinese already. But that may not always be the case! And my writing in chinese is like 0% skills and I think writing would help them them stick in my head when it comes to a lot of the ‘partly’ learned once I have more vague recognition of. Also again just... I know mnemonics have worked for me to remember tones but then I just stopped doing it when I went reading heavy. And knowing hanzi but not their tone is a huge weak spot, so sitting down and forcing myself to write it out will help it stick. I imagine this will be a longer term project of a few months, but it only takes like 5-10 free minutes in a day to do several so I should try when I feel like it.

1. continue through nukemarine’s memrise courses. No excuses mejo if you feel you need to ‘prepare’ then just continue the vocab courses instead of the grammar.
2. continue reading Tae Kim’s grammar guide (when you can focus - I would ideally like to see myself finish the first 2 sections since I’m almost done with section 1).

a. listen to some lets plays (I just looked up a bunch of persona lps -3-)/
*I really do not need to do optional anything rn. I want to read - I need more freaking vocabulary! (Parasite Eve, the Galaxy Train, those are down the road when reading is something less intensive). I already KNOW at the end of the month when Nier Replicant comes my ass will be playing that game in english and japanese. I already know right after that my psp’s coming and my ass will be playing crisis core. I will get some ‘immersion’/practice in soon. But I’d really like to just... grind through the nukemarine courses as MUCH as possible while I still have the very rare ability to do flashcards fast. (I go through periods where I can do 100-300 flashcards a day, and then suddenly it takes me 1 hour to do 5-10 cards and i give up again). Last time I studied japanese (for 2.5 years ;-;) I did NOT make it this far through the nukemarine courses. Poor past mejo really dove in fucking blind into japanese games with like 500 words maybe from genki and maybe 200 from nukemarine’s courses and just TRIED. Wild. I’m not doing anything that hard again lol. Present mejo would like to get at MINIMUM 1000 words in before I try that again this time around. I’m about 300 through the 1000 first words (and 300 through the grammar deck which has some extra words, and through 500 kanji but tbh kanji meanings are much less horrific now that i know some chinese to help me remember and associate). So I’ve got like... until the end of April to study 700 more! If I keep doing 40-200 a day that should be doable.
I just know myself and the instant this ability to flashcard focus leaves I will not go back to it for months, and also the instant I get back into playing video games a Lot in japanese I will abandon any other structured study... at least for a while. Last time I did it for like 4 months, it was pretty hard, and then I just kinda just stopped studying. Phenomenal. I’m hoping if i know a BIT more words I’ll be less likely to just abandon things. We’ll see.

**Longer term, I’ve been desperately getting the urge to read through my Japanese Sentence Patterns book, my Japanese in 30 Hours book. Also to go through the Japanese Audio Lessons. HOWEVER. I think a few things need to happen first. First, I need to finish at least maybe 7-8 of nukemarine’s courses - I do not want to be doing them AND a textbook/another course, I would like to do them one at a time. Second, I need to finish reading Tae Kim’s Grammar Guide - that is why I want to get done all the nukemarine courses that coincide with it, and read through it that far, at least. I cannot read 2 textbooks at once, I WILL abandon one and probably finish neither. Third, I need to finish Chinese Spoonfed Audio - I know myself and I absolutely can’t focus on multiple audio prioritized activities in a study plan. I can’t listen to the DeFrancis audio and get Through it, I can’t do the Japanese Audio Lessons. In fact Japanese Audio Lessons I might ‘only’ do because it would slip in as a nice replacement activity when I finish Chinese Spoonfed Audio. An audio I can listen to while walking/working out/chilling.

KEY overall goals:
Chinese: I want to finish a novel (Guardian hi baby), which has been the goal since day 1.
After that: I want to work on audio comprehension (so Listening-Reading), shadowing (can do it in l-r or with any audio), and SOLIDLY knowing the hanzi I partially know (so probably continue through my hanzi books - I should consider using my Alan Hoenig book again tbh).
Japanese: I want to finish 7-8 nukemarine courses, and try playing video games again.
After that: playing video games, looking up words, having fun! (And MUCH later, when there’s time - read the textbooks I have. Then even Later... try diving into reading whenever I feel ready to do that...or whenever the mood randomly strikes).
**The bolded goals I plan to actually do this April-May (guardian I may only finish section 1 but hey its a solid portion). “After that” goals are my next concrete things I want to do.

Personal goals:
1. Workout everyday (actually 5-6 days a week cause I think breaks can be good, but I’m aiming for every so when I inevitably skip one that’s the break day lol). 50 crunches, 70 pushups, at least 15 minutes cardio. I’ve been sticking to it pretty well! Hardest part is just... I hate being sweaty a lot -.- Also I’m fairly sure eventually I am going to need to add more specific time for bodyweight workouts (probably 20 minutes minimum) if I want to get any results similar at all to back when I went to the gym (which was like 12 minutes HIIT then 8 minutes cool down cardio like walking, 10 minutes warm up with pushups/crunches and stretches, 30ish minutes just weight machines, some cooldown stretches and/or walking). I want to do a few specific muscle workouts but like god baby steps, i need to consistently just work out at the MINIMUM before i add stuff because i will absolutely quit if it gets complicated or time consuming. ‘any cardio’ is very flexible so i will actually do it. (also hopefully that means when i switch To a specific thing like ‘do this for a week or 2′ because i’m consistent with working out so i can move into consistent in ONE specific workout, i will be able to stick to it).
2. Eat low carb, low sodium (apparently -.- ). Try to get my bloating to stop getting so bad constantly, try to make my stomach stop hurting for a consistent amount of time. I would like to get it feeling good for a week or 2 straight before I eat something that hurts it again (and next time I hurt it I have got to do a one-off thing then be nice to it again :c ). I got too cocky last time. I know I hate how boring it all tastes i know but i need to just do it long enough for it to help.

Hello darling, how's about a little fic or headcannon for Pharah, 76, and Zarya. Where they come back from a morning workout (because let's face it, they probably all get up at dawn to workout) and find their s/o still in bed, but wearing an article of their clothing.

Anyway, since you requested three people at a time, I’ll do headcanons for now, just because that’s easier and, frankly, I always find writing headcanons more fun because I can do little stupid things in those.

She and Zarya are long-distance work-out buds, I swear
Anyway she probably gets up at like four a.m.
Eats something small, fills a giant-ass water bottle, then she’s on her way
Her work-out consists of a five-mile run before the gym, a hardcore almost-military workout at said gym that would make masculine bodybuilder seem like a fragile little flower, then a seven-mile run before heading home
Once she gets home, she’ll take a shower so she doesn’t reek, then starts breakfast for her and her s/o
After breakfast is a go, she’ll go to check on her s/o and wake them up to come sit
They’re still asleep splayed out haphazardly on the bed
Like one foot’s against the headboard, the other leg is off the opposite side of the bed, their head’s hanging off the bed and resting on the chest at the foot of it instead, the blankets are everywhere but on the bed
At least they got a good night’s sleep, as the position shows
They’ll be stiff as when when they wake up though
They’re also wearing one of Fareeha’s pairs of boxer shorts that she uses as pajamas
They’re so precious and pure and sweet
She’ll just stand and are marvel at the beauty of her s/o, despite how ugly of a sleeper they are
Then she briefly forgets about breakfast until she smells smoke
“OH SHIT!” -loud but light foot taps as she runs back to the kitchen-
S/O wakes up from her shout and flails the rest of the way off the bed
After gaining their senses, they get up and stiffly limp to the kitchen
There’s the bird-wife fanning the slightly charred bacon before the smoke detector goes off
Personally, I like burnt bacon so this’d be a morning dream-come-true
S/O ends up helping her finish breakfast
Her fingers will eventually end up rubbing the skin just under the waistband of her shorts that s/o’s wearing at some point
She’ll set up the table while they fix the bacon, then they’ll both sit down to eat and chat over eggs and pancakes and more or less decent bacon
Afterwards she’ll invite them to join her for yoga or stretching so they can work out their stiff bodies together
Also because it another excuse for getting touchy, which Pharah’s always a fan of
Zarya
Similar workout ethic as Pharah
Like I said, they’re long-distance workout buddies
Plus Zarya loves to show off
So she goes to one of those huge, hardcore public gyms that only seriously fit people go to use
Also you know that she made one of those huge, nasty-looking/tasting energy/protein smoothies before she went out too
And then she spends her morning putting them to shame in the best-humored way
She knows a lot of the people there
Gets into competitions with various bodybuilder one
One of these are probably Reinhardt
She usually wins, then proceeds to give whoever she won against tips
She indirectly becomes a personal trainer for some of those struggling there
When she comes home, the first thing she does is get a drink of water, then check in on her s/o
They’re curled up in her huge bed, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket and wearing one of her tank tops that’s a literal dress on them
She’ll smile and quietly come in to change out of her workout gear
Then she’ll go over to her s/o and run her fingers through their hair or give their arm a little squeeze
Just something noticeable enough to wake their s/o up briefly so she can tell them that she’s home
She’ll kiss their forehead or temple and run her fingers lightly along their body where it’s clothed by her tank top
Might ride the tank top up a bit to massage the skin underneath a bit, just enough to help you relax back into sleep mode
It’s her favorite thing to see them wearing her stuff as sleepwear, tbh
Then she’ll leave them to sleep while she makes herself some breakfast
She’ll come back into the room with a cup of coffee and sit in bed with them until they finally wake up
Just tracing her fingers along their body or running a hand through their hair while listening to the quiet nature noises coming through the window
When they do wake up, she’ll ask what they want for breakfast
She’ll carry them out into the kitchen and have them sit on the counter while she makes what they want
If they really want to help, she’ll have them grab things that are nearby where they’re sitting for her
She’ll sit with you while you eat and talk about her workout and any dreams you had and plans for the day
Then you’ll both spend a couple hours in the shower together
Solder 76
He has a home gym or a private gym, or gets up earlier than everybody so he’s gone before more people show up
He’s just not a fan of working out in front of everyone else
He works out shirtless or in a tank top and either sweats or shorts and he just doesn’t want his scarred body to be looked on by loads of people
Not to mention the questions about working about blind he gets every once in while
He’s not blind, goddammit
He just has cloudy vision
The glasses Mercy had engineered for specifically for him helps a lot
His sight is almost back to normal now, if not a bit blurry still
Sometimes he loses track of time during workouts and his s/o will be up before he gets home
This happens frequently
So they’ll either make him breakfast or coffee or just go to the basement where the gym is to see him
Either way their wearing his shirt and his pajama pants, both of which are way too big on them
He hears them before he sees them and stops his workout to apologize for waking them up if he did so
When he turns around and sees them decked out in his sleep attire, he gets bit flustered though
Either stops talking mid-sentence to marvel at them or looks away and stumbles over the rest of his words
When they say he didn’t wake them up but he did lose track of his workout time, he gets all huffy and glares at the clock before walking over to give his s/o a hug and a kiss
If they’re okay with him touching them while he’s all sweaty, that is
They are; it takes a lot for him to get really sweaty gross
If they hadn’t made him breakfast and/or coffee, he asks them to stay while he does his last couple of sets
He offers to let them sit on his back while he does one-handed push-ups
Or hold down his feet while he does sit-ups (and give him kisses when he reaches his knees)
Or spot him while he does his weights
High-key trying to impress his s/o, even though he really doesn’t need to
At some point, he’ll just randomly comment something about them wearing his clothes
Something like “You look good in those” or “You can have those if you want”
Low-key telling them to keep wearing his clothes
After he finishes his workout, he’ll take them upstairs and he’ll go take a shower
He’ll probably ask them to sit in the bathroom with him to chat while he does so
Then they’ll both make breakfast after he’s done
They make the best coffee
His always tastes like dirty water
When they eat, he’ll have them sit on his lap on the living room couch and they’ll share breakfast together while watching cartoons or some random old movie that’s on
He’ll play with their clothes throughout breakfast
After the food’s and coffee’s all gone, the TV tray will be set aside while y’all cuddle for a while
He’ll continue to play with the clothes they’re wearing
Plus kisses
Ending up pinned down under him on the couch with his mouth on their neck his hands in their pants and up their shirt is a total possibility here
