RED STRING THEORY // Hansol x Reader Oneshot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DESCRIPTION: Soulmates weren't real. This wasn't a fantasy world... But somehow, the world wanted them together. Giving them one too many chances to be together. Almost as if there was a little string that connected them to one another PAIRING: Idol!Hansol x Reader GENRE: A very LONG fluff.
Tumblr media
There is a popular belief that there is one person you are destined to be with regardless of time, place, and circumstances.
A person is born in to this world connected to their other half by this invisible red string. No matter how knotted and jumbled this string got, it was never broken – because in the end, it will always be them that would be destined for each other.
Y/n had grown up with her grandmother telling her and her older sister this folklore; standing firm on her belief that her and their grandfather were destined lovers and had proclaimed that one day, the two girls would find their way to theirs.
The two had taken their grandmother's words a with a grain of salt. More now that their father and mother had a very messy divorce, leaving the two to be solely under their mother's care.
But the older woman didn't care if the two girls huffed and puffed about her tales that she told each summer they paid a visit. A regular occurrence of their mother shipping them out to her home country; claiming it was good for them to be in touch with their roots instead of rotting away in their rooms during summer break.
Plus, it was far better than making the journey to Chicago where their father had relocated with his new girlfriend.
It was just like old times.
Except, now they were no longer required to have their grandparents accompany them as they explored the large city. They had the freedom to run about the streets, spending hours on end at the computer shop, biking along the river, and spending all their allowance at the local convenience stores.
"I don't think we have enough money." Y/n looked down at the basket of snacks her and her older sister have filled.
Her sister agreed with a nod. "Put back some chips."
Y/n pouted, reaching down to grab three bags of honey butter chips she had carelessly thrown in; trudging to the next aisle where they had been placed.
"Are you going to buy all that?" A young boy no older than fifteen asked, pointing at the bags in her arms. Unlike the boys from the neighborhood, he had looked like someone from back home. She took in his disheveled appearance, his hair was almost like a helmet on his head; the sweat on his forehead causing some of the strands to stick together.
Yuck.
Blinking slowly, y/n tilted her head to the side trying to comprehend what he had asked. She knew the language, just not well enough to understand when someone was speaking fast.
He must have grown up here.
"Hello?" He waved his hand to gain her attention.
"Sorry." She mumbled, rushing to place the chips back on the shelf.
"Weirdo." He said underneath his breath, grabbing a bag.
"Excuse me?!"
Eyes growing wide, the boy turned to face her – ears and cheeks red. "Heh?" He flashed a shy grin and peace sign before running away to the front of the store.
Y/n dismissed the small interaction with the young boy – not before ranting to her older sister about how rude he was to someone who was clearly from not the area.
Teens were rude and arrogant at that age anyways.
It was her last day before heading back west when she had another run in with the teen. She was reaching for a can of grape drink when another hand brushed against hers; causing her to quickly retract her hand – mumbling a soft apology and motioning for the person to go ahead.
"Here." He extended his arm to offer the girl the can, recognizing her from weeks ago.
Their first small interaction that had left him flustered as he made his way back to the practice room. He was told specifically by the staff to be careful of how they portrayed themselves during their time outside the green room, in case they were to debut.
No future idol wants negative stories from strangers as a new comer. One story can easily cause a snowball effect and become not only the downfall of one member but the group as a whole.
He knew their conversation wasn't much of a headline, but he also knew how easily the public villainized a celebrity for something so miniscule.
He did not want to risk it.
The young teen had gone back nearly every day before practice in hopes to run into the girl, wanting to change whatever impression he had originally made.
"Thanks." Y/n pulled a tight lipped smile before turning her heel to head for the register.
"Sorry about the other time!" He called out.
"I don't care." She called back, handing the cashier the change she had fished out from her pocket – not bothering to look back at the dumb struck boy stood at the refrigerated drinks aisle.
Crisis averted.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
It had been years since he had been back in the city where his parents had met. Not to mention years since he had given a proper break.
Thanks to their group's success over the past two years since debuting, they were granted a month and half of down time. No practices, no variety show guesting, no filming.
Just quiet time.
The first in a very long time.
Each and every member agreed that they would use the first half of this break to work in their team and the latter half with their own families.
Vernon could not be anymore grateful that his mom had decided this meant flying back New York for a change of scenery and pace.
For once since his debut, he felt like a normal teen; waking up at noon, exploring the city by himself with no set schedules, and eating whatever his heart desired.
"You're staring." His sister nudged him, breaking his gaze from the girl behind the counter who was far too busy taking everyone else's order to notice that he was practically burning a hole into her skin.
"She looks familiar, doesn't she?" He nodded to the girl.
His sister follower his eyes before giving him a look. "No she doesn't."
"I swear, I've seen her before."
Sofia snorted, rolling her eyes at her brother.
He could be a dits at times.
"You wish." She took a step towards the counter, placing her order.
"And for you?" The girl smiled, using her customer service voice that she had gotten down to T since applying for the cafe.
"Oh uh–" He glanced up at the menu, scratching the back of his neck. He had become too preoccupied trying to figure out why the girl in front of him had looked like someone he had seen before that he had completely forgotten the reason why he and his sister decided to drop by in the first place.
Coffee.
"He'll have an iced mocha." His little sister interjected, seeing that her brother seemed still be buffering by her side.
"$10.78 please."
"Vernon." Sofia nudged him yet again, this time a little harder, signaling for him to pay.
"Right." He cleared his throat, digging into his back pocket to pull out the plastic card from his wallet. "Here you go."
"Is he okay?" The girl joked, taking the card from his had.
"He's allergic to girls."
"Am not!" He cried, now fully present.
"Okay well then don't be a freak."
Y/n awkwardly laughed at the two's sudden bickering, handing the form of payment back. "Drinks will be ready at the side."
"Thanks– wait, do I know you?"
"Oh my god." Sofia grumbled, slapping her hand on her forehead in embarrassment.
"Um.... No." Y/n replied, coming out as more of a question. "Are you trying to hit on me?"
"Wha– No! Oh my god no!" His eyes wide, shaking his head quickly.
He was never good with girls.
Or strangers.
Unless they were his fans; all thanks to their media training and fan service lessons.
She raised her brows. "Should I be offended by how quickly you said that?"
"Oh my god oh my god, let's go please you're embarrassing me." Sofia cried, pushing her brother towards the direction where the rest of the cafe customers were stood, waiting for their drinks. "I'm really sorry about him!"
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
Curiosity had gotten the best of him and he was set on figuring out why the girl at the coffee shop looked familiar – dropping by another time.
"Hi familiar stranger." She greeted as he walked into the semi-empty shop, a glaring difference from the other day.
Granted, he stopped by during hours where most would be busy at work or school.
"What can I get you today?"
"Iced mocha please." He said confidently this time.
"Anything else?"
"That's it." Vernon pulled a tight lipped smile, handing her his card.
He was so sure he would have been able to figure it out by now; unable to help himself from staring at her.
Not in a creepy way of course.
No. He was not a creep.
Just annoyed that his brain can't seem to put a finger on why her features looked like someone he has seen before.
He hadn't been in the states in years. Let alone has he been to this particular coffee shop.
But why was she so familiar?
Before he could walk away, he found himself asking the question aloud. Again.
"Are you sure I don't know you?"
"Are you sure you're not hitting on me?" She countered.
He shook his head. "No, I– you just look like someone I know."
Maybe she was a fan.
From a fan sign.
What if she was playing a sick prank, wanting to have her own little cliche moment of bumping into their celebrity crush so that they could organically fall in love with each other.
Not that he was in love.
Nor did he like the girl.
He didn't even know her.
She's pretty. Very pretty– but– oh my god he's staring at her. Shake it off.
"Do you go to fan signs?"
Oh he is about to blow his cover.
"Yeah, totally. I just went to one in Brooklyn– are you stupid?" She replied sarcastically.
She didn't live under a rock. She knew what fan signs were, having heard of them from her cousins when she would visit her grandparents for the summer.
"Taking that as a no." He said slowly.
"Is this some sort of pick up line. You're going to say I look like one of those idols you see when you go to fan signs? It's a really dum–"
He let out a laugh.
If she had only known.
"I told you I'm not hitting on you."
"Says the guy that keeps asking why I look familiar, in a really weird way, I may add."
This was hopeless.
Why did he think he would be able to figure it out this time around?
It was as if there was an itch in his his brain he couldn't seem to scratch. But considering there was no progress in getting any clues as to why the girl looked like some one he had previous encounter with, he'd just have to learn to ignore it.
"I just– it's bugging me– It's whatever." He mumbled, walking over to his drink that was waiting at the counter.
"If it helps, my mom said I have an average face!" She called out.
Little did he know she would later find out who he was, all thanks to her mom's need to watch any and all content that was happening back east.
She had nearly choked on her water that night when his face appeared on screen as her mom watched the latest episode of Happy Together; earning strange looks from both her mom and sister.
Y/n wanted to so badly let the two know that she had not only one but two encounters with the boy on the screen a few months back – for street creds of course.
But she knew they wouldn't believe her.
No one would have.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
Moving was one thing.
Y/n didn't mind moving.
Moving to different country.
That was another story.
Due to her grandfather's recent passing, y/n's mother thought it was best to relocate back to their home country to accompany her now widowed grandmother.
Y/n wanted to be selfish.
She wished she had enough guts to fight to say behind, just as her sister had, and complete her masters with her friends. She wished her mom hadn't been fully educated about the transfer program her university had.
If she had only been born two years earlier like her sister, maybe she could have used the "I have a job here that I can't leave behind." excuse.
Don't get her wrong.
She loved her grandmother, and she would do anything for her.
But asking to up root her whole life, to move all the way across the world to leave behind her friends and her boyfriend, was a lot.
Y/n wanted to complain. She wanted to pout. She wanted to throw a fit, like any other toddler who was told they were not allowed the toy they have been asking for but she knew better.
Y/n sucked it up, hiding her disappointment behind a smile each time she came home from yet another day of classes at the university.
A lifestyle she had yet to adjust to.
Pushing past the mess of people, y/n ran down the stairs of the subway station – afraid of missing the train that was set to arrive in just a minute. She had gotten a little too distracted with the shops along the way and lost track of time, forgetting to account for the endless corridors and staircases she had to travel before reaching her set subway line.
She had nearly reached the last step when she felt someone step on the heel of her sneakers, sending her forward in an instant.
Y/n was fully prepared to make contact with the floor, bracing for impact.
But the pain never came.
Instead, a tight grip on her upper arm held her up just enough for her to regain balance.
"Thank you." Y/n turned to the stranger, reaching up to rub where their hand had once been – in attempts to soothe it.
Thanks to their quick thinking, she had been able to save herself from embarrassment and a possible concussion; but that didn't mean it didn't come with a cost.
She could practically feel the bruise forming on her arm where their fingers once was, wincing at the thought of having to explain to her mom and grandmother why she had a perfect hand print bruise on her upper arm.
"Sorry." He apologized sheepishly, coming out as almost a mumble due to the mask that covered half of his face.
"It's fine."
"I uh– let me give you money for uh– cream?"
She raised her brows. She knew there would be a cultural difference once she had moved to the country, but never had she heard of someone being a little too friendly and offering to buy.... bruise relief cream.
It's just a bruise, anyways.
"No need, oh my god." She shook her head, subconsciously reaching over to stop him from grabbing his wallet from his back pocket; instantly retracting her hand when she noticed him flinching at her touch.
Right, this wasn't the west.
They don't do that here.
"Sorry, I– am not."
"From here?" He finished with a chuckle.
"Yeah..."
"I know. I mean– you sound like my sister from back in the states– That's information I didn't need to share."
"Line 6 is arriving." A perky voice blared through the speakers, interrupting the two.
"Shit. Gotta go, don't worry about the bruise!" She spoke quickly, hurrying over to her platform.
To her surprise, the stranger had hopped on to the same cart as her – instantly spotting his all black outfit paired with black fitted hat from a few seats down.
Sh had tried her best to keep herself pre-occupied, looking down at her phone as she pretended to be interested in her instagram feed – not wanting to look like a stalker. It wasn't that she was interested in him.
She had a boyfriend.
No, she was just.... curious.
Something about his voice seemed... familiar.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
He was in the same cart as her the following day — easily spotting him as he was dressed in the same ensemble. Just different colors.
This time, he wore light washed jeans and a plain white tee. As opposed to yesterday's all black attire. Not to forget the cap that rested low on his head and mask covering the remainder of his features.
He really did not want to be seen.
"How's the arm?" He asked, taking a seat at the now vacant spot next to her.
Y/n lifted the sleeve of her oversized graphic tee to show him the mark he had left behind. "Purple."
"Sorry again." He winced.
"Saved me from cracking my head open." She shrugged. "You been to New York?"
"Huh?"
Y/n gestured to the embroidered team cap he was sporting.
"Oh uh— kinda?"
"Kinda?" She raised her brows.
"I was born out there." Vernon answered hesitantly.
He wasn't sure if his disguise was, if it could even be considered as one, had been good enough to hide who he really was. He wanted to be careful of any and every information he gave out to her, just in case she was a fan of him and his group.
Not that she seemed to hint that she had any sort of idea of who he was... or seemed to care to figure out who she was speaking to under the mask and hat.
Besides, who's ever heard of an idol taking a subway.
In Vernon's defense, he didn't have a license and didn't feel the need to. It was very rare that he needed to be behind the wheel on his own anyways.
"Cool." She nodded. "Me too."
He let out a soft chuckle, finding her poor attempt to make small talk.... humorous...ly cute.
"What brings you out here?"
"My mom."
"Well yeah–"
"No I'm serious," She laughed, realizing he had probably thought she was making a joke about reproduction. xi. "My mom wanted to relocate."
"Oh my god." He groaned putting his head in his hands out of embarrassment before sitting back up and joining her in her fits of laughter.
"What about you?"
"Also my mom.... and dad."
"Cool."
"Cool."
The sound of the train humming along the tracks filled the silence between the two.
She had yet to figure out how to properly interact with strangers, afraid to come off too strong.
"I'm y/n by the way." She hesitantly brought her hand up, unsure if it was appropriate to shake his hand or not.
"Hansol." He took her warm hands in his cold ones, giving it a quick shake — just in case there had been wandering eyes.
"This is me," Y/n allowed for the train to a complete stop before standing from her seat, turning to give the boy one last smile and wave. "I'll see you around I guess"
She never did.
A part of her wished that he was on the same train again the following day, catching herself craning her neck to see if she could spot him in the mess of crowd that had piled in.
She had done this for three days.
Giving up on the fourth.
Why was she so curious? Who makes a friend on a train?
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
Y/n had grown to love the place.
Contrary to what she had made herself believe.
Maybe it was that she had finally adjusted to the culture and the lifestyle of the country, or maybe it was that there was no other reason for her to go back – her boyfriend of three years dumping her on a random Tuesday in May, just days before she was set to fly out to visit him.
So much for the stupid red string theory.
Swearing off relationships, y/n chose to focus on her new job; as a Media Marketing Associate at the new leading entertainment company.
She wanted to make her mother proud – just as her older sister has, who was now a Creative Director for Capitol Records.
Y/n wanted to follow her older sister's footsteps.
At least, if it fate allowed it.
Just before clocking out the night before, her team had received word that one person will be removed – claiming that the workflow needed restructuring.
Y/n wasn't stupid. She knew it meant someone was getting fired.
And judging by seniority, and her being a new hire of two months, she knew she would be the one to be let go.
"Morning." She greeted her coworkers with a sigh.
"Don't look too sad, y/n." Soooyun frowned, knowing that she had nothing but words to offer.
"So much for being a marketing director." Y/n pulled a tight lipped smile, reaching over to turn on her computer.
As if it was any use, considering she may have already had her employee access revoked.
She had been fully prepared to pack up her desk by the end of the day, giving her mother a heads up that she may need to cry in her arms once she got home from work.
But fate was on her side.
"No way." She gasped, scanning the email she had opened. "I'm not fired!"
"What?" Sooyun jumped from her seat, walking over to her desk to read over her shoulders. "We are pleased to tell you that you have been selected to join our subsidiary label's marketing tea– this is good news!"
"Oh my god. I thought I was going to be unemployed!" Y/n cried, continuing to scan through the email. "Wait, what floor is PLEDIS?"
"Eight. Good luck. They're a mess." She snickered, walking back to her desk.
"Oh so I might as well have been fired."
"I'm kidding. They're .... working on it."
"I'm drafting my two week notice."
She never drafter her two week notice.
Instead, the department she had been suddenly thrusted into had welcomed her with open arms — despite half of the team having been around since before the label acquisition.
They were all learning the new groove of workflow that HYBE had standardized for a good portion of their subsidiaries' PR and Marketing department, leaning on one another for support during their onboarding.
She had quickly grown to be comfortable with her new team just as she had with the temporary one from two floors above.
"Y/n, it's your time to shine." Her lead grinned, leaning against her desk. "Sales and PR approved of your tour pitch."
"No way." Y/n gasped, her grin matching his.
"I want you to pitch it to the boys."
The grin quickly fell from her face. "No way."
Yn had known each and every boy by name; especially the boy that she had interacted with years back when she was working at the cafe near her home. But she still couldn't help but feel nervous.
She had done minor research on the men she now worked for, but interactions with them in person was different.
Especially now that she was a grown adult with an almost fully developed frontal lobe.
Y/n had yet to meet the group as a whole, having only met Seungcheol and Woozi in passing on the way to the office — tucked far behind the practice room used by the team.
She knew she wanted to move up in the company, meaning that she would be heading meetings regularly. But she had also yet to assimilate to the workplace — let alone the talents she had worked for.
Almost everyone on the team were comfortable with the boys, each having their own stories about how kind and attentive they were to their staff members.
She wanted to ease into it slowly.
Not thrown into the deep end.
Which seemed to have been occurring far more often than she would like.
"Can't I just be the person that clicks the arrow button for the next slide?"
"It's your presentation. You have it memorized."
"I'll teach you."
"I think that will be tough because meeting is in," He glanced down at the silver watch on his arm. "Ten minutes."
Oh she's definitely drafting her two weeks now.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
Nervously standing at the end of the very long conference table, y/n fiddled with the hem of her cardigan — waiting for the group of thirteen boys to file in and take a seat.
The growing sound of booming voices grew louder and louder as each seconds passed; signaling their arrival. It was only a matter of milliseconds before they appeared one by one through the doorway — greeting her and Seongho, her team lead who stood beside her.
Of course, he earned chirpier hi's and hello's — being a part of the team for five years now.
Y/n nearly had to fight her eyes from lingering at the him. He had matured entirely, his shoulders now broad, maybe even gotten taller.... and god that jaw.
He looked good.
She quickly averted her eyes down to the device in front of her before anyone caught her stare – which was quite easy as they all seemed quite busy in their own worlds.
Y/n waited until they were situated in their seats, each small conversation finishing as she tapped away on her laptop that was connected to the projector behind her — instantly catching their attention with the bright colors of the mood board she had put together.
She felt like a teacher standing in front of a group of kindergarteners and she felt their gaze on her — some with hands folded in-front and on the table.
Just like kindergarten.
"Hi everyone, name is y/n." She bowed, using her best customer service voice. "I'll be heading today's marketing pitch."
Y/n was about to open her mouth, ready to start with her first slide when a sudden cough attack caught everyone's attention.
It was him.
"You okay?" Mingyu turned to Vernon, letting out a laugh as he patted his back in attempts to soothe him.
"Yeah, swallowed my water wrong." He croaked, earning laughters from everyone.
"Slow down, yeah?" Minghao chuckled.
Vernon nodded, clearing his throat as he adjusted in his seat. "Sorry, uh, y/n please continue."
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
She didn't know which she liked more about her job. The pay.... or the free food.
Not a day had gone by where she did not passed up taking trip to the company cafe on the third floor to get her daily caffeine fix and sweet little treat from the pastry selection that was baked fresh every day.
Yeah.... it was definitely the free food.
Especially now that she had been appointed to lead the marketing for the group's Japan leg of the tour.
It was her fourth day in a row that she had made her way down to the cafe for the second time since clocking in – deeming that one iced coffee was not enough.
Unfortunately for her, there was a line of at least eight people ahead of her and only two barista's working the counter.
This was going to take longer than the ten minutes she had told her team.
Unbeknownst to her, he was stood second in line – his eyes immediately spotting her when she had entered the room.
Not that he was looking for her.
She was just very easy to spot.
She dressed differently than the rest of the staff.
Her style still very much influenced by western fashion.
"Y/n." Vernon called from his spot.
His voice was very easy to recognize.
Once she locked eyes with him, he motioned for her to stand next to him – cutting the rest of those who stood behind.
Not that they would complain.
"Thank you." She bowed hesitantly.
Y/n had yet to be comfortable around him and the rest of the boys, despite having had frequent interactions since the meeting she had delivered months ago.
She was his age and he had specified that it was completely fine to address him like a friend.
They all preferred their staff seeing them as coworkers, people that they could be friends with, instead of land mines that they had to carefully tiptoe around.
"We'll be seeing each other a lot and we hope you'll be around as long as we are... So please, don't think you have to treat us like kings." The leader said after the meeting, formally introducing the team as a whole to y/n.
"How's planning going?" He asked, making small talk.
In all the times he had a run in with the girl, he hadn't been able to properly converse with her. Mostly because it was either he had a other members with him, who were far more outgoing and vocal – leading the conversations. Or he just didn't quite have time.
He would see her in the halls, giving her a nod as a form of greeting and a quick smile before rushing to the practice room.
The last time he had a proper one on one with her was a year ago... at the subway station near his parent's home.
Though, it was just him that knew of that interaction.
He planned to tell her one day. Thinking it would be a fun fact to bring up one day.
He just needed to find the right time.
"Really good, actually. Stressful. But good." She beamed, wanting to spill all that she had managed to accomplish since being assigned the project.
"I'm excited to see all that you worked on– you and the team."
Pulling out her phone from her phone pocket, she quickly swiped through her emails – double checking to see if anyone had been peering over their shoulders before showing him the screen.
It was rough draft of the train decal she had managed to secure with the subway system in Japan – promoting their multiple shows.
"Are we gong to be on a train?" He gasped, zooming into the file.
"Yeah, just got it approved this morning." She smiled.
"Whoa." Vernon was shocked.
He knew their group had been successful, his bank account being the biggest indicator, but he didn't think it had gotten this far.
Vernon was fully aware that they had gotten quiet big; bigger than what they had imagined during their trainee days. But a train.... with all their faces... set to be traveling throughout the country....? That blew his mind.
"Thank you." He handed her phone back.
"Working on gettin it on a plane too." Y/n replied, stepping up to the counter once the person in front of them had stepped away. "Iced hazelnut coffee please."
"Plane?" He gasped, still standing in his spot, mouth agape.
Y/n didn't think it was much of a big deal, remembering that she had briefly mentioned it during her presentation. Along with the VERY generous budget HYBE and PLEDIS had given the marketing team.
She remembered clearly because Minghao compared it to the Hello Kitty plane he had taken once on the way back to China; unable to help herself from laughing.
"Uh.... he'll have an iced mocha." She turned back to the barista, letting out a soft laugh as she stepped away from the front of the line – Vernon following suit.
She had perfectly remembered his order from that day.
Unable to shake it off. Especially not after she realized who he was.
"A plane?"
"It's not for sure yet."
"A plane." He repeated, coming back down to earth. "Wait I didn't order!"
"Oh I got it."
"Did you get me an iced americano?" He deadpanned, knowing that it had been a stereotypical drink that was a crowd favorite. And considering he was lost in his own world, he figured it would have been the safe choice for her to say.
He hated that watered down tar drink.
"Did you want an iced americano?" Y/n asked slowly, scolding herself for ordering the same drink he had picked out when he was a teen.
How was she going to explain this to him?
Without being an absolute creep...
"No but it's fine, I'll give it to Seungkwan."
"I got you an iced mocha."
Welp.
There goes the bomb.
She began planning her escape route.
"Oh." He was left dumbfounded for a second time.
"Uh.... you seem like an iced mocha guy."
That was convincing.... right?
"Should I be offended?"
"Maybe." She shrugged, letting out a small sigh of relief as she walked over to get their drinks from the counter.
Crisis averted.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
Y/n didn't intend to stay past her usual work hours. She wasn't one to work a full twelve hour day, not when she can help it.
The first day of the Follow to Seoul was fast approaching, and though she was on the Japan team, she had grown restless as the big day approached. Each and every single marketing deliverables had to be cohesive through out all the stops, regardless of country or city. And considering it was her that had pitched this overall theme, she couldn't help but take extra hours to ensure any and all loose ends had been perfectly tied off.
Y/n was a perfectionist.
She had taken one last glance at the email she had scheduled to be sent to all the staff members the following morning, containing all information relating to the tour; including posting schedules on social media, announcement of later dates, and merch recap.
Content with herself, she closed out of her browser and collected her belongings – heading for the door.
At least she wasn't the last one on their floor, getting accustomed to the group's late night practices. She had one too many run ins with a few members in the past week, each scolding her for staying past the usual 6pm clock out time.
"Didn't you already get an earful from Seungkwan the other day?" Vernon called out from the end of the hall.
He had stepped out of the elevator and instantly recognized her; a smile appearing on his face.
Because he wanted to tease her.
Nothing else.
Looking up from her phone, she let out a laugh. She was caught.
"Shouldn't you be at practice? You're late." She teased right back.
They had met halfway, both with stupid grins on their faces.
Because of the joke.
"I had schedule before this." He defended.
"I was finishing up the last few details." Y/n countered.
His bottom lip jutted out, nodding in understandment. A habit she had noticed he seemed to have done quite often.
"The last train was 30 minutes ago."
"My mom's picking me up."
"That's cute."
She reached over to give his arm a smack, knowing that he was holding himself back from making another joke.
They had finally crossed the weird line that rested between coworkers that made small talk with one another in the work place and coworkers that you'd consider to maybe... just maybe be okay with hanging out with outside of the workplace.
Not that they have ever.
That was still untouchable territory.
Being an idol and all.
The only time they have spent time outside of the office building was during company dinners. A neutral setting.
Sure, they've spent some lunches at the cafeteria together – Vernon unable to pass up free food when he was far too lazy to go off and find other meals outside of the company.
"Ow! That'll bruise." Vernon cried, grabbing the spot where her hand had landed.
"Oh please. I barely grazed it. I would have to grab you really hard to even leave a mark."
"Like when you fell in the subway?" He snorted.
Y/n brows furrowed in confusion, her head tilting to the side. She had never told him about that day in the subway.
She had never told anyone about it.
It was of no significance.
A minor interaction with a stranger.
"How do you know about that?"
Vernon's eyes grew wide at the sudden slip up. "Huh?"
"I never told anyone about that."
"No– no you definitely told me about it. You were falling and this guy saved you from falling."
Or maybe she had.
... Had she?
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
He was screwed.
Not only was he screwed but he owed Mingyu and Dokyeom ₩100,00 ... each.
Vernon had a crush.
A big fat crush that had him grinning like a stupid little kid every time he was near her. Hell, he had caught himself grinning while looking at her instagram.
Which took a lot of convincing and a few specially delivered coffees at her desk for him to even pry out of her.
He would spend hours on end that day carefully swiping through to make sure that he did not accidentally like any of her posts.
His fans were smart. Detectives even.
He knew any movement on any social media did not go unnoticed.
All hell would break loose the second they caught wind of him interacting with anyone but his members or fans.
He had managed to deny all claims that he may be attracted to the newest addition to their staff team, and everyone seemed to have bought it.
All except Mingyu and Dokyeom, who had caught the two one too many times in their own world during her lunch breaks.
Vernon had confidently challenged the two to a ₩100,00 bet to prove that they were wrong.
He didn't think they would win.
It was silly little crush.
But she had texted him earlier that day, wanting to talk after work – claiming that she had to confess something.
Since receiving that text, he had been restless; unable to find a comfortable position on his couch and opted to plan out his outfit instead.
He wanted to look good.
Because she's confessing her feelings right?
And if the feelings were mutual.... then why not? Right?
He's allowed to date.
Everyone else around him had significant others.
Why can't he?
Vernon decided being home was not an option, not while his everyone else was home and able to pick up on his behavior.
Coming up with some lame excuse about wanting to practice one last time before they headed off to Japan for their first show, he made his way to their company's designated floor – waiting in the practice room.
He was grateful that she had asked to meet on the one particular day their day off landed on – their managers agreeing they needed rest more now that the non-stop schedules were kicking off.
Vernon was laying on the couch when he heard the door creak open, his head shooting up – eyes immediately locking with hers. He jumped up and off of the couch; adjusting his shirt.
He could hear his heart pounding in his ears as she grew closer to him.
It began to beat louder once she was a foot from him, his nose instantly filled with her signature scent.
Burberry HER.
He wasn't weird.
He had complimented her months before and she happily advertised the small roll on version of the product she carried with her at all times.
"I hate not smelling good." She reasoned when he had teased her about it.
"How was work?" He asked.
She shrugged. "We finally announced the Follow train and plane. Your fans made a few jokes about how they hope it was you guys flying it too."
He let out a chuckle, aware of the jokes that their fanbase were capable of making – some even making it into the groupchat whenever either one of them found one good enough to send them to tears in laughter.
"Anyways, I have a confession." She wasted no time getting right to the point. "And I already know you're probably going to distance yourself after, but I don't care. It's been literally bugging me for months now."
"It's okay, I– I think I have something to say too." He wiped his hands on his jeans, feeling them grow moist from the anticipation.
"You do?" Y/n was puzzled.
"Yeah but uh... you go first."
"No, now I'm curious." She laughed, picking up on his nervous demeanor.
She was nervous as well, but his.... was little more off putting; the color on his lips draining.
Vernon was glad they were standing, knowing that his legs would have been bouncing enough to shake the whole room from the anxiety he had been feeling.
He had confessed his feelings to someone before. Why was he so nervous?
She was going to do it as well.
Right?
"I– fine." He sucked in a deep breath, locking his eyes with her. "I um, may have a slight, crush– No actually, no I have feelings for you. Positive ones. You know the one that makes me want to kick your feet and giggle when you text the person you like.... That kind."
Y/n's lips formed into an "o".
That wasn't what she was expecting, though.... she should have guessed the minute she picked up on his strange behavior – mentally comparing it to a high schooler when they were around their crush.
Vernon watched as the girl slowly walked over to the couch, taking a seat. His eyes remaining on her as she sat in silence.
"I'm guessing that you were not going to say the same thing."
She slowly shook her head, still in shock.
Welp.
Time to go on a year long hiatus.
He allowed her for a minute of silence, taking a seat on the far opposite end of the couch; silently drumming his fingers on his legs as he tried his best to keep the voices in his head from jumping into further conclusions.
"So I'm uh– going to head out." He clicked his tongue, standing from his seat.
God this was so awkward.
"Wait!" Y/n her voice cracked, finally blinking away the blank stare she had.
Vernon was halfway to the door when she had called out for him, turning his heel to face her.
"Sorry I was... processing." She ran her fingers through her hair. Y/n had many things to consider.
The thing was, she too had positive feelings for him.
But that was the thing.
She was perfectly fine pining for him in silence. She was okay with the one sided admiration. Y/n was completely okay with having him as her work crush, the reason as to why she was that much more motivated to come in when the days felt like a call in sick type of day.
Because just a minute ago, she didn't know he had felt the same.
But now that he had exposed how he felt, it complicated her false reality.
Not only did she realize she might just have a chance with him... she had a chance with an idol.
Someone who was meant to remain unattainable. Only for fans.
Someone who cannot be seen with anyone of the opposite gender.
Someone who she was definitely not supposed to be dating.
Not that he asked her out.... he just told her how he felt.
"I came here to tell you that we met before." Y/n swallowed, walking over to where he stood. "I– we were teenagers. I was working at a cafe and you and your sister came in. I– I didn't know who you were at the time but a few months later I saw you on TV and– I didn't think I would see you again. Let alone work for you. It's been eating me alive since I saw you in the conference room. More now that we're friends. Or... possible ... crushes? I–"
Now it was his turn to be in shock.
"Do you believe in the red string theory?" He blurted.
That damn red string.
Y/n couldn't help but laugh, nodding in response to his question.
Vernon had heard about the red string theory from his mother, she had always entertained all sorts of ideas as such and happily shared it to him and his sister.
He rarely believed in these ideas, such as zodiac signs being able to properly describe someone's personality down to what makes them tick. Listening to his mother ramble on and on out of respect.
"You don't know this but– that day, that you fell at the station... That was me. I was the one that stopped you from falling. That bruise, I– I'm Hansol."
Vernon remembered that day so clearly.
His sister was in town for a quick break from her school back west and he had been paying her a visit at his parent's home – opting to take the public transportation instead of bothering his band of brothers or managers.
He was far too busy trying to keep his profile low as he headed back to his shared apartment when he stepped on the back of her sneakers.
Thanks to his quick reflexes, he had been able to catch her.
He was left in awe of her beauty that day, cursing himself for not approaching her when he had caught her staring from a few feet away.
The second time was purely coincidence.
He was sending his sister off.
He didn't think y/n would be taking the same scheduled train as him.
Vernon wasn't one to take things a sign. But he did just this on time – taking a seat next to the girl.
He didn't think he would see her again.... again.
Especially not as someone heading their marketing meeting.
"I choked on my water that day you were presenting because– I mean, I was surprised that you were there." He continued.
Maybe both her grandmother and his mom were right.
Maybe they did have an invisible string that tied them together.
That must be the only explanation.
"Wait— you— hold up." She reached over, using one hand to hold onto his upper arm; trying to stabilize her now weak knees. "Is this okay? I'm allowed to hold onto— I—"
Vernon felt his ears grow hot, unable to bite back the smile fighting its way to appear on his face. "Yeah this is okay." He nodded.
"Before we circle back to the whole destiny thing," Y/n withdrew her arm back to her side. "I— can't believe I'm saying this out loud, but I... uh— kinda like you too?"
"Kinda ... with a question mark?"
"Okay, I do. I have positive feelings for you."
He felt his heart take a leap.
"Can you give me a second?" Vernon held up a finger before walking over to a corner, letting out a dramatic 'yes!'.
She watched him in awe.... and pure adoration. A larger grin on his face as he made his way back to where he stood.
He was cold and stoic on camera, rarely showing any emotions but she quickly realized that the facade he seemed to put on wasn't who he really was.
Vernon was a dork, an animated and very funny guy who enjoyed teasing her any chance he got. Just like any other boy who had a crush.
There had been countless of times when she found herself wiping away the moisture from her eyes from the stupid corny jokes he told.
"Back to the whole destiny thing."
"It can't possibly be real but... I'll take it. I'll allow it." She laughed.
"You think that little red string is tied to yours?" Bringing his pinky up to their eye line.
"I would hope so."
"Want to test the theory?" He wiggled his finger, earning a giggle from her. "Dinner on me?"
"Let's start with dinner on a plate first."
Vernon's smile fell, using his other hand to fiddle with his pinky.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"I'm trying to untie the string." He chuckled, breaking character.
"You're a loser." Y/n rolled her eyes.

Marvel's looks
So you know how it is at least an older canon established that Billy as Marvel looks like his dad or at least what he remembers his dad to look like? I personally lean into a second option of how he remembers his dad because it makes it more interesting plus it helps with the whole awkwardness of him looking like a semi-random or completely random (depends what canon you're going for) dead dude.
So here's the differences I see Billy as Captain having compared to his dad or things that come from his dad's little quirks!
Height: Billy remembers his dad as being massive because he himself was a tiny baby boy. So yeah. Marvel isn't a walking 6'4" feet tall dude because that's his "peak" or whatever but that's how tall comparatively Billy's dad looked like to him at when he was like 4 vs 8 years old.
Build: CC was the strongest man Billy has ever known. He could lift all of them: his mom, his sister and him; proudly proclaiming he is holding his entire universe in his arms. So naturally he was super strong which called for super muscles! So that's why Marvel is build like a tank while CC most likely had a healthy amount muscles from excavating and such but nowhere as much as Marvel and unlike Marvel would've also had a solid amount of extra squish too (we stand dad bods, lmao).
Cleanliness: You know how a decent amount of people have Marvel have a neat self-cleaning option that just comes with the magic form? I personally like the perpetually perfect hairstyle from one of the fanfics I read that joked about it. Even if this might not be something I'll always use to it's maximum extend. Either way. I like to think that the cleanliness of Captain Marvel comes from the fact that CC liked to be overall clean and put together when seeing people or generally outside around the public and generally portray himself as professional: as in wearing full business in casual business because he likes the feeling wearing a suit gives him (Yeah, I see CC to be a weirdo actually enjoying suits and his wife finds it to be an extremely adorable quirk she loves because they both get to be the dressed to the nines couple!)
Face: OK so this one is going to have a bit of sub bits here because I gave CC glasses. I know when he is shown he usually doesn't have them but I have a reason for it and I'll get to it:
4.1. Nose: The shape is different from CC's simply because glasses hide a decent portion of the nose bridge depending on what sort of glasses you get. But generally the bridge would be a bit larger for Marvel.
4.2. Eyes: So you know how in older depictions of Marvel he always squints? You know when people also squint? When they're trying to see better! So yeah for me Marvel has a perpetual squint because he doesn't wear glasses unlike his dad. Who, whenever he took them off, also squinted to see (sometimes exaggerating it to make his kids laugh). So Marvel's form subconsciously squints since there's no glasses on his nose. lol.
4.3. Also eyes: Additionally since CC wears glasses and squints when he takes them off, his vision has to be decently bad. You know what happens when you wear strong glasses? They warp your face. So additionally Marvel has smaller eyes then CC would've had. :P
So yeah that's all I have for now but might edit it if I ever come up with more things like that. If you like the concept feel free to either use it or add to it. This is all a complete fanon. It's for complete funnsies. But I would still like to hear what you think about it!

Epiphany: King and Luz are how fanon imagines Philip and Caleb
Tumblr media Tumblr media
King is clingy, and has major separation anxiety. He insists he’ll never let Luz leave him, gets anxious and upset when she does anything without him. He wants nothing more than to have her stay with him forever at all times, having assurance and full control over it. He even specifically was afraid Luz would leave him for another realm. He wasn’t just orphaned, but he lost his entire species before he was born. Luz and Eda are the only family he has.
He’s a scared little kid who just wants a family who stays with him. That’s almost exactly how I see Belos stans portray young Philip. And maybe that is indeed how Philip acted when he was King’s age.
Though, crucially, King doesn’t target Luz’s other loved ones and then kill her, only to clone her tons of times and abuse those child clones before murdering them. Because King isn’t a pathetic weirdo bitch.
King grows up. Which, he shouldn’t have had to mature so fast, because unlike Belos, he really IS just a little boy during all this. When his entire world gets shattered, TWICE, he has every reason to think only of himself and cling desperately to everything.
When he learns his entire species was killed, that he’s alone in the universe, it’s even clearer that Luz and Eda are all he has. But he chooses to open up his world and see things more widely, to pay attention and have a deeper understanding of his loved ones.
He becomes more aware of other people and their own lives, his worldview expanded outside himself. He uses that knowledge to reach out to others, like having empathy for the Collector, not condemning him. He tries to help Collie with the lessons he only learned recently.
In the end, King himself sends Luz away to another realm to protect her. All that time swearing he would never let her leave him, but he loves her more than that. He expresses his joy over her having her as a big sister, and he saves her. Because he truly loves her.
King is a CHILD. He couldn’t be faulted for acting more selfishly. It would have been reasonable of him to cling and beg Luz to protect him during King’s Tide, but he was a hero.
Belos never understood actual love like this. Caleb gave it to him, but he didn’t return it. It further emphasizes what a fucked up weirdo Philip is. He hasn’t been a child in hundreds of years. He was an adult who couldn’t learn to think beyond himself and the idealized fantasy narrative of his brother existing for him.
He thinks that any attempts for Caleb to have his own life are an insult to him, that the entire world starts and ends with Philip and his own desires. Hundreds of years and he never learned to see beyond that. He doesn’t feel joy that Caleb was his big brother. Only that he has a right to control and possess, and he will do anything to make it happen. Murder, abuse, enacting sick, petty fantasies.
He even disguises himself as a little kid and clings to Luz, hiding behind and clinging to her, tricking her into caring for him, in Hollow Mind.
Two clingy, anxious, possessive little brothers terrified to be abandoned when the world already took what should have been their family from them. One who matured greatly at only eight years old, and sacrificed everything to protect his older sibling.
And one who maintained a petty, selfish obsession for hundreds of years, colonizing a world and trying to commit genocide, while playing out a sick power fantasy of caretaking and control while screaming about what was taken from him, which was his own doing
Istg, if King wasn’t placed into the “animal companion” category as default, the fandom would have been all over the parallels. I would say “Hey Belos stans! Your cute, sweet, angsty, clingy younger sibling with abandonment issues is right here in King! Make stuff with Titanlights!” but they’d probably hear that and miss the whole damn point.

ramble
A lot of people in this fandom portray hawks as a f-boy, but honestly, I don’t see it. Like this man was raised by the hero commission. I doubt he had ANY free time growing up and if he did it would have been VERY LITTLE.  He was probably forced to constantly train, not unlike Shoto. The possible relationship (not romantic ik how u weirdos are) between these two could be a really interesting dynamic, especially with them both being close to Endeavor. Ramble aside, I can’t see Hawks not being extremely inexperienced when it comes to dating and relationships and general.

What's wrong with The Impossible Heir??
I'm torn between believing whether the writing straight up sucks ass or is intentionally done to make the viewer despise every character except Huiju.
Her stark contrast from the rest of the characters, having a normal moral compass, the way she clocks everybody (especially the shady FML) and her overall likable and sassy quality make me feel like the writers aren't oblivious to how they've handled these characters. or maybe it's just Heejin's charisma and the way she portrayed this role with so much life and emotions that makes the viewer attached to her and root for her which makes sense because if any other actress played Huiju she wouldn't be as likable and might have been passed off as a textbook kdrama mean girl who is snotty, entitled and rude. nevertheless, I think she will serve a bigger purpose in the future. we are given too much context to her character and emphasis on her as a shortcut to being the heir through marriage to ignore and it makes me feel like she will be the answer to the power struggle. the constant comments from Inju's wife about her and Taeho's possible union feel like foreshadowing.
now that TaeO will be going to jail for murder accusations, it will be the kickstart of his real revenge arch. he has tasted the pain of betrayal from the chairman, inha, and Hyewon, and he will completely lose it and step on everybody on the way to the top and his help will be Huiju. whether he reciprocates her feelings or not, he will be paranoid enough to use her. It will not be surprising because his character is already unlikeable and had been established as a weirdo after that kiss with Hyewon.
I think this will be the route writers take because for whatever reason they want the viewer to hate everyone and the ending will be very unsatisfying. In conclusion, yes the writing sucks ass. I'm trying hard to redeem it because I think Lee Jae Wook progressively gets hotter in each episode.
I just hope my babygirl Heejin gets enough recognition for her performance and be able to bag some leading roles in the future. she's so talented and has this air of main character and insane charisma.

on the mischaracterization of norway, a mini character analysis (because i feel like people are tired of me going 'oh, i like canon norway so much more than fanon!' without explaining myself)
Tumblr media
before anyone starts barking at me, you can prefer fanon interpretations! that's 100% fine! the point of this post is to discuss what canon nor is actually like, because i feel like most people don't even know that there's a difference between canon and fanon
a) on seriousness
i feel like there's a big dissonance between the serious, solemn norway portrayed in fanon, and how he acts in canon! don't get me wrong, he can be serious, but he's also a silly guy! he has a sense of humour and he likes to tease and be kinda mischievous!
some examples from the manga that i feel show this! (there's a lot!! this is a recurring character trait!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
b) on being cool (he's not) (not even a little bit)
point being that he's a loser and a weirdo and strange and awkward and shy and, unlike how i usually see him in the fandom, not suave at all :,) examples (image order is right to left):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
c) on his relationship with other characters
this is gonna be a quick point because tbh it deserves its own post haha but 1) dennor like each other!!!! it baffles me that people act like they don't! norway teases him a lot but he clearly cares!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also a good place to add an explanation as to how nor uses the words "bro" and "brother"! hima has said that his use of the japanese "anko" is meant to resemble a regional japanese accent where the word is used how "bro" would be used to refer to a classmate or friend! it's not meant to be nor thinking of denmark as an actual brother
2) he and ice are silly together :) he calls him just to ask a single question and hangs up on him. he threw him a surprise birthday party right in the middle between their 2 birthdays! he's not just an overbearing older brother, he's genuinely warm toward him!!

Round 2, Group B: Matchup 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Makoto Naegi vs Ayin
Reasons for being generic + Propaganda below
Makoto Naegi
Reasons:
BOOOORING GENERGIC FLUFFY BROWN HAIR. BOOOO. BORING!
Lol he is literally normal in a group of weirdos . His only defining traits are an ahoge and green jacket. If you put him in a room of generic anime boys he would Not stand out. He would be lost :(
sorry for submitting a danganronpa character but his whole thing is that he's average. he says at the beginning of the game that even among the average, he's completely average. he's the one character in the game who doesn't have a real talent, having only have gotten into hope's peak academy because of luck, being the ultimate lucky student
Look at him. His talent is luck. Literally. Only normal person at the academy because he's literally just some guy and everyone else is "the best of the best" at something. Spends a lot of the first chapter (and a little of the next ones) being like "I'm literally just some guy"
He is a highschool student who describes himself as average in everything, liking whatever's popular, has messy brown hair and a hoodie, and is the protagonist despite only getting into the situation in-game out of luck. He gets two female love interests, he is the ultimate generic anime-style protagonist. He does become less average in the finale of danganronpa v1 and danganronpa v2, but until then he is the most generic boy one can be, and that generic boy swag is what somehow gets him women.
That's the #1 thing people know about him. His whole thing is that he's just A Guy. He's what you think of when you think of generic anime protagonist. He's got the power of friendship. He's handheld by the smarter/more powerful characters to a point where it's unnecessary but still ends up the leader because he has Hope and Believes in his Friends. He's just a decent guy! Also, my favorite character.
I mean. C'mon. His entire introduction is surrounding the fact that he's so average and boring that even among average people he'd be considered too average, his character development is the usual "With the power of friendship we can overcome anything!!!!", and his personality is that "nice mc with no backbone" type. He even has that generic anime dub voice
Propaganda:
he's pretty funky
he's so silly tbh that's all also i actually like him more than hajime
He's bisexual and a short king (who is unfazed by the fact that he is short; unlike many characterswho are short he never mentions it once and I'm 98% sure that if someone else brought it up he'd just be like "ok...?"), also a very decent guy
He acts pretty adorable, and I find it hilarious how other characters outshine him in protagonist potential, which makes him an even more fun protagonist in my opinion.
His whole thing is that he's just A Kid in a peer group of what's basically super-kids. He's the epitome of what you think of when you think of generic male anime protagonist: - He's got the power of friendship. - He's handheld by the smarter/more powerful characters to a point where it's unnecessary. - Acts as the polite straight man to the insane personalities around him in an "well... whatever you say then 😅" kinda way. - Obviously in way over his head but still ends up the leader because he has Hope and Believes. - Also because he is the main/POV character and so inexplicably gets to figure out and survive things. - He has a little sister and parents who look just as generic as him.
he is also portrayed to be clumsy and flustered easily. Which feels like a very Generic Anime Teenager trait to have.
Ayin
Reasons:
You know that one mspaint shoulder grip image? It's him in there. They don't know it's Ayin. Also he is essentially written to be the "self insert" protag in his game.
Black hair. Pale skin. His only unique physical trait is his eyes which are like yellow i guess.
you know the black haired guy from this meme (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FukUjzSX0AM7KDR?format=png) that goes around every so often? that's ayin. no one knows it's ayin but it's him. also literally just look at him and tell me he doesn't look like he would fit in while sitting next to kirito sword art online like look me in the eye and say that to my face.
very generic from the black hair, but he has gold eyes and wears a labcoat. his other clone which is Manager X that you play as throughout lobotomy corporation is so so generic that he needs a paper taped to the front of his face to distinguish him apart from ayin.
They don't know the shoulder grip image is Ayin.
look at him. he's black hair white coat generic shirt pants guy. he's the Shoulder Grip Image Guy but people don't even know it's him
Messy black hair with bangs?? I'm sorry but it is literally just him. Just a guy with black hair and black clothes in a white labcoat. That is it. Do you know the ms paint shoulder-gripping meme? The guy with black hair with his back turned to the viewer is Ayin. Like I cannot stress enough that the meme was originally created as a piece of badly drawn Lobotomy Corporation fanart. As proof, if you compare the hair to his in-game sprite it is literally just him.
The only colour in this guy’s colour scheme apart from black and white is the gold in his irises and even then in many cutscenes those are hidden. He looks as if some random asshole was chosen from a crowd shot and was forced to become the protagonist that’s how bland this guy looks
short dark hair and white. like, #FFFFFF white. not even joking
Look at him. If you see fanart of him when you're not specifically searching for it you can never tell that it's him because he looks like every other generic male character. (Though I must admit the coat saves him in that regard.) Also [MAJOR SPOILERS] there have been quite a few versions of him running around in some form or another, which could be a plus if you take "generic" to mean "a dime a dozen".
His hair is generic, his clothes are generic, you can see a picture of him and you can never know if it's him or a random scientist without clarification
Propaganda:
He is frequently mistaken for Kim Dokja (shoutouts if he also gets submitted) from Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint and I think the fandom overlap between them is very funny. All that aside, I think Ayin is very neat as a character :)
Hes literally just a guy.
The world's most pathetic abusive father. Was too head over heels for a girl so he followed her to the ends of the earth to help fulfill her dreams. She was obsessed with trying to save people and while he didn't really care he wanted to be with her. They did save people for a while but then she "died" and he got like, super obsessive about trying to bring her back. Completely took advantage of the man that was obsessed with him this entire time as they worked to resurrect her. Eventually managed to create an AI implanted into her body only to get pissed off when she didn't have the same personality and mannerisms as she did. Proceeded to refuse to interact with said AI outside of moments where it was absolutely necessary and instead the man that was obsessed with him ended up having to do all the actual work to take care of her. Said AI works at his Delusions Will Murder You Facility to generate a profit for him because why the hell not. Man that was obsessed with him also got turned into an AI because why not. He did all this while looking like the most generic blank slate of a character imaginable.
he looks pretty average and can easily be mistaken for kim dokja from omniscient readers viewpoint if he gets in it together with dokja it would be super duper funny.
Shoulder grip image guy
I haven't finished playing LobCorp yet, nor have I touched the sequel Library of Ruina, but already I want to dropkick this man.
Iconic for being the guy that’s gripped by the shoulders in that one meme that no one recognises. He’s committed so many atrocities he’s my favourite criminal scientist
this character is so generic that most people dont realize they've even seen him. he's been in 1 or 2 popular memes and nobody registers him as a character they just accept him as a "generic guy". it's a little funny
Just look at him.

Beyond the Pages | Chapter #1 - Into the Unknown
Series Summary: It was just your weekly trip to the comic-book store. While looking for a comic for your collection, you stumble upon an old-looking book, with an odd combination of symbols on the cover. You, being drawn to the weirdness of it, pick it up and open the cover. A strange force surrounded your person; and the next thing you knew, you were waking up on the steps of what looked to be 177A Bleecker Street. What had you gotten yourself into?
Pairing: Stephen Strange x Fem!Reader
Warning(s): none that I can think of, lemme know if I've forgotten something
Tumblr media
You blinked in confusion as you looked at the world around you. The last thing you remember was holding that old comic book. And now you're lying on the steps of a building that you'd pretty much memorised. A building straight from the scene of your favourite movie.
You sat up slowly, trying to rub the ache in your head away as you tried to make sense of what was happening. Your mind was reeling. This couldn't be real. Something must've happened and you passed out. You were dreaming; you had to be.
The sound of the Sanctum door opening, and someone clearing their throat brought you out of your thoughts. There in all his 1.83m glory, stood Doctor Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme; your hero.
He took one look at you and sighed, "I suppose you're the reason for the cosmic shift?"
You gulped, a lump forming in your throat. This was the Stephen Strange. The most notorious neurosurgeon the Marvel Universe had even seen; probably the greatest Sorcerer Supreme in the multiverse...and you were sitting at his doorstep like some drugged out weirdo.
With your eyes wide with embarrassment, you quickly stood up and squeaked. You swore you saw a flash of amusement in his eyes at the sound.
"Now I'm only going to ask this once, because, quite frankly, I have other problems I need to attend to. What master do you serve?"
You giggled at that. That line was ten times better said in person than any movie could ever portray.
"Does that line work on anybody?"
His eyebrows raised, "All answers so far lead to no."
You smiled, "I didn't think so."
You swear his lips almost quirked up in a smirk, and that made you feel a rush of relief. Maybe now he wasn't going to banish you or cast some sort of spell on you. But the situation itself was still bewildering.
"I'm sorry for my lack of manners," you said, fidgeting with the comic book in your hands. "I didn't mean to intrude in the Sanctum."
Stephen seemed to study you intently, his gaze seemingly piercing through your soul. "You possess an otherworldly energy," he said, his voice calm yet laced with curiosity. "It's unlike anything I've encountered before. How did you come to possess it?"
You blinked, taken aback by his astute observation. Maybe he's a sort of Sherlock in every universe...
"I- I don't know how I got here," you stammered, struggling to find the right words. "One minute I was holding this comic book in a store, then everything went...strange--no pun intended. Next thing I knew, I was here on your doorstep."
His expression softened as he listened to your words. "An enchantment," he murmured to himself, "Multiversal travel?"
A look of clarity flashed across his face, "The Nexus of All Realities."
You tilted your head, confusion written across your face, "The nexus of what now?"
"It's sort of a cosmic crossroads," Stephen began to explain, his voice laced with a bit of fascination and caution. "A convergence of different dimensions and realms. If you were holding an artefact connected to the Nexus, it's possible that it transported you here."
You glanced down at the comic book in your hands, suddenly seeing it in a new light. "So, this comic book...it's more than just a collectors item?"
Stephen nodded, his eyes never leaving yours. "In this reality, it seems to hold a deeper power. And by some twist of fate, it brought you to our world."
A mix of excitement and trepidation coursed through your veins. You, like many other Marvel fans, had read countless fanfics about the possibility of shifting or travelling to the Marvel Universe; but now that it's come to fruition, it was both thrilling and overwhelming.
"Are you alright?"
You let out a shocked laugh, "It's just, I-I'm just a huge fan," you admitted, a sheepish grin spreading across your face. "I never expected to end up in the Marvel Universe. It's like a dream come true! But, I don't know what to do about it."
Stephen's eyes softened, a glimmer of understanding shining within them. "Rest assured, I will do everything in my power to help you, uh..."
"Oh! Y/n, my name is Y/n."
He smiled, "I will do everything in my power to help you, Y/n."
You nodded, feeling a mix of gratitude and nervousness. "Thank you, Doctor Strange."
He inclined his head in acknowledgement. "Trust, Y/n, is not something that I hand out freely, so we'll start somewhere simple. Call me Stephen."
With a wink, Stephen led you into the Sanctum, where a whole new world of possibilities was awaiting for you...you just didn't seem to know it yet.

What caught your eye about hambone? First I thought he was silly bc of the gold teeth but I learned more about the real hambone and I love him sm!! <3 the actor is so beautiful
my first watch of mota when he showed up in ep 1 & the end of ep 2, i recognized him as "wtf this dude has gold teeth oh he's defo a fuck boy" but didn't think much of ham LMAOOO i was still madlyyyy obsessed w/ buck and crosby i didn't have time for my eyes to wander <3
wait hold on i wrote way more than i thought i would lemme read more. i love hambone. he is everything to me
and then like episode 5 came around and i kept rewatching the first couple of episodes and i should've known better because i KNEW he was (is) fine as fuck i simply could not ignore it any longer. i always love the off-putting pretty bitches and hambone is exactly that, an off-putting pretty bitch. i was endeared by his bright ass blonde hair because it reminds me A LOT of an f1/f2 driver i love (liam lawson) so i feel like i kinda was set up from the beginning to be partial to this tall blonde pretty boy 😩💜
AND JUST LIKE YOU when i decided i was way too curious and enamored to ignore hammy's existence any longer, i just started researching more about real ham and just fell in love with brady's crew in general and found hammy so interesting and cool -- there is a part in a wing and a prayer where crosby writes about how hambone (unlike harry) genuinely wanted to get to the war and during training he was worried the war would already be won and over before he got the chance to go fight in it. and another member of brady's crew wrote in a journal he kept about how, while they were still in the U.S., all of brady's crew agreed with one another that they didn't wish to fight for the honor and medals of it all, they just wanted to go do their jobs, help return the world to something peaceful, and then go home. we love humble kings. anyway this is a side note but i'm ngl i feel like sometimes people in the fandom kinda mischaracterize/"Fanon"-ize hambone a lot and it sometimes rubs me the wrong way. but that's just me
obviously he probably still counts as a minor character in MOTA, but idk i love the character jordan still portrayed, he's a lil weirdo and a little silly with his gold teeth of course, but i fully love the bits of personality we got from him <33 he's a funny, witty boy with pride and confidence about his job (bombardiers r so hot it's just true. they are sexy af being competent) but also stubborn and a little aloof and easily irritable, doesn't seem to be all too bothered by being overly kind to people he doesn't know/we often only see him socializing with people from brady, crank, or blakely's crews (all men who irl hambone shared barracks with and had close ties to !) ... i love a dude who keeps to himself / doesn't feel the desire to step too far outside of his close social circle, it makes him even more intimidating imo and i love it. he's so hot. he's like a cryptid to me and i find his freaky vibes insanely alluring. like even the cat killing CANNOT put me off, if anything it made him sexier idk why .... like he's a lil vicious yes but he's also a resourceful bastard like that, like brady said protein is protein & hambone was very kind to his buddies to make them cat soup <3
ALSO he's just very very fun to write. i adore writing him he's so interesting.

Do you find it rather funny that some (not all) of the people who wanted Amphibia's third season to be filled with angst, panic attacks, tears, grief and parental drama, also wanted a perfectly happy ending to the story rather than the bittersweet one we got? Like, ironic much?
There's a reason why I frame fandom desires for angst to be about shipping and prestige. That they want the high emotions and the claims they can make because of those elements but not what actually comes from it. In other words: Fandoms want Yesterday's Lie's ending from The Owl House.
For those unfamiliar, this is EXACTLY at the half series mark for TOH. Luz's, the main character, mom has just found out that her daughter ran away for the Summer to a different world and when she had to choose between going home or staying there, she chose to stay there. She immediately starts blaming herself and pleading with her daughter that she'll do better but next time, she promises to return, please!
And, Luz, to her credit, is a good daughter and says yes. The sequence is powerful, real, human and tragic. A real acknowledgement of how awful Luz's original choice was while keeping Camila in character of being as caring as she is. A moment that will theoretically solidify the two's bond but to undo will take a LOT of work as Camila will now be forced to stew with this pain as in the moment of the promise, her daughter is ripped away from her again.
It was also a moment I knew COULDN'T matter.
The show simply didn't allow for it. This isn't Amphibia where the girls had to adapt to their surroundings and still had elements about the human realm they liked. Luz isn't surrounded by creatures who are entirely unlike her and thus will always have to deal with some slight element of isolation. The Boiling of Isles of TOH is Luz's home. The show CONSTANTLY reinforces that this is where she belongs. That this isn't just where she can be happy but potentially the ONLY place she can be happy. Her social anxiety vanishes. She can find like minded people. She can live out the fantasies that she always chooses over reality. By the time of Yesterday's Lie, she has not just a found family but also the first friends she's implied to have had in a long time and her first girlfriend. Her life is on the Isles.
So you have literally spent HALF of your runtime reinforcing this. That maybe Luz needs to learn some lessons but her life is with the weirdos. On the Isles. You can't just pivot from that thematically. Not without shifting the show HARD. You have to take a show where Luz's every action has either been shown as positive or able to be fixed and now acknowledge this very real act of monstrousness on her part and the lengths one has to go to fix such a break in trust, let alone when the very next episode wants to portray it as something that is actually really messing with Luz's head.
Of course... That episode also includes Luz lying. And not just that episode. In fact, she will CONSTANTLY lie and break the trust of her girlfriend, and her friends, for literally the rest of the series. This cardinal sin of Luz's, lying to her mother, suddenly becomes a defining trait of hers to an extent never present beforehand. And mind you, it's not universal. To Luz and Eda, she is willing to tell them literally ANYTHING. Her girlfriend though? Fuck her.
It does make the show darker to constantly have your main character be a fucking asshole who whines about the consequences of their actions more than they actually learn from them but does it make it better? Does it make it more mature? Does it make enjoyable? No. Because it's a thematic and tonal betrayal of EVERYTHING that came before. Not that Luz ever managed to really learn anything before but they weren't nearly so blatant about her REFUSING to learn. Worse yet, this isn't a character flaw thing. Lying is one of those things we can all agree is bad but there are NEVER consequences for it because, well, the show still commits to Luz not just being the protagonist but also the hero.
And so this big moment, Yesterday's Lie's ending, is eventually just dropped. Something I could have told you was going to happen the day after the episode came out. It couldn't fit what the show had said about its main character so far and NO ONE would be happy with an ending where she actually keeps to the promise. Undoing the promise also would have cheated the moment, which dropping it does too, not without truly proper build up and reasoning, something the show struggled with in general.
So like many a fanfic, it does this big, super angsty moment... And then never continues it. Those most affected never actually show growth or change from it. It's almost episodic levels of bad how much people just keep forgiving Luz's actions and seem to forget about these really important statements, or how Luz blatantly keeps ignoring everyone around her, and eventually her own words in S3, to keep angsting about this but not actually dealing with it.
And Amphibia, to finally loop back around, did this itself. It took Marcy out of the story in order to have its big break in tone but not have to really deal with the fact that that moment should have had a big impact... On Marcy. Yes, it's brutal for Anne and Sasha but for them, it's just a complicated friend getting potentially killed. For Marcy, it is a betrayal, near death AND she has been pushed away by her friends for her actions. She as a character just isn't compatible with the show, not without the tone of a finale or her being effectively high/drunk to keep her from actually properly acknowledging anything.
It is a narrative tightrope, let alone for kid's media, but Marcy IS a much more expendable character than your main character. Even then, S3 of Amphibia is genuinely about many of the things that the fandom wanted. Her parents are TERRIFIED about what might happen to Anne. Anne can barely keep it together for the first few episodes and makes mistakes she might know better about if not for how she is trying to make her life any less complicated and scary than it already is. The Plantars are really the only ones who don't follow this stuff but even then, episodes like Spider-Sprig still let us see that being outsiders here, when Anne is accepted back in their home, digs at their brains. They also help even out things and keep the tone consistent with the rest of the work, even while it does deal with some of the ramifications of its choices.
It's not perfect but it is what AMPHIBIA can do. Without a future series, it was never going to go as far as these fans wanted.
Though... If you are looking for an Amphibia that might even be tiptoeing up to the line of being for Adult Swim rather than a main kid's programming block, definitely more teen rated with the amount of damage it has, while keeping spot on with the tone of the original and genuinely trying to be mature with its storytelling, I recommend checking out Dr. Neque's Amphibia vol. 2. I jumped in once the trio got back to Amphibia and have been loving it so far.
Even that version of Amphibia knows that it can't be doom and gloom all the time though. That the charm of Amphibia is partially from how absurd and fun it is. How over the top it can be with its silliness and fun. We admittedly just had a fight that was... ROUGH but for similar reasons as to why True Colors was so brutal in its ending but in a state that I think is better narratively by not quite going so far. That's all I will spoil though.
All of this to say that fandom likes the emotions of angst but not its consequences or how it can damage a narrative overall. How you do need to actually be ready to tackle that properly if you want to tackle it at all or else a small trickle of angst can quickly spoil the pot, let alone an entire, rancid apple like what would happen if most fandoms even got a single episode of what they wanted.
After all, TOH fans got what they wanted from the end of Yesterday's Lie and that is the episode that turned my heart on the show. I am SO happy that there is no equivalent for Amphibia.

YEAH, I think people forget that Subaru can be unapologetically mean (most of the time he doesn't do it to hurt people though) and it makes his dynamic with Natsume soo.. so nice.
You. You ask me this knowing fully well i won't shut up about subaru once i start talking. Well. Long post ahead.
But i agree. I think most people won't know much about him besides the kira-kira front he keeps putting out (unless they actually read some other trickstar stories). And i mean, yeah he's super adorable and cute and energetic but he's been through A LOT. And that energetic front is some sort of a weapon for him.
Like, he's not pretending to be happy, he IS MAKING himself happy despite all. Despite all his anger at the injustices that took away his father's life and his mother's happiness. Despite all the suffering he endured from the press that kept harassing him and his mom after his father's death. Despite the industry that covered up his father's death as a mere scandal rather than facing the uncomfortable truths and corruption within the industry. And the ungodly anxiety always surrounding him because all people think about when they see him is "son of a murderer"
And where does that lead subaru? Nowhere, really. All alone with no one beside him and nobody to guide him anymore, he just clings to memories of the past for guidance and tries to follow in the steps of his dad.
Which is i feel like why natsume reached out to subaru in the first place. Subaru is a natural genius but unfortunately a weirdo loner at a corrupted high school, natsume is also a weirdo loner genius at a corrupted high school. And unlike subaru, natsume is not traumatised and really likes helping people and making them happy (he will never admit to this, the tsundere tendencies are off the charts), so naturally he reaches out to subaru.
AND THEIR FIRST MEETING IN ROCKET START IS JUST AKSHDGSKAVVDKFKSJDV
it's like.... natsume starts talking to subaru, subaru automatically puts out this positive attitude regardless of who is talking with him, right. natsume cares about subaru but god forbid anyone knows that natsume has feelings and cares about people, so he starts talking aaaall mysterious wizard stuff. Subaru immediately notices something is up with natsume, he's not sure what, but this guy is not to be underestimated and there's something this guy knows about him, and he instantly drops his happy facade and gets serious. The more subaru talks to natsume the more he realizes that natsume...is actually really nice. And so he goes back to his positive attitude. And it pisses natsume off, tsuntsun is not pleased lmao.
But their first meeting is so wiiild to me. Like imagine meeting someone for the first time and immediately they metaphorically strip you off and leave you naked and vulnerable. Like literally your first conversation with this person. And then you do the exact same thing to them. And now you're friends???? Profit.
You know those videos of cats snuggling their sad owners and then their owner happily tries to kiss it and now suddenly the cat is pissed that the affection gets returned? Subanatsu. With natsume being the cat.
But yeah sometimes people forget that subaru has years upon years of anger that he never really had an outlet for and that's probably why he likes violence so much. Like the one thing that got changed in the anime is the fact that when anzu went to meet kiryu (famed strongest most violent guy in the whole school), the anime portrayed subaru going in with anzu to meet kiryu to protect her. This literally doesn't happen in the main story at all. Don't get me wrong, subaru IS overprotective of anzu, like everyone else in trickstar. But he didn't go with her, he sent her there on her own and then was like "ok, if anything happens to you, scream, and then i'll come in and ambush kiryu with a bat". I want you to imagine that. This dude was standing outside with a bat fully prepared and thrilled to hit the academy's strongest guy. He literally sent anzu as bait.
And then there's that one time he wanted to bomb the student council (jokingly). And that one time he took a hammer in front of rinne out pretending that he's going to hit him. And like. Every time he fights with hokuto. I genuinely have no idea how these two HAVEN'T physically hit each other yet considering that hokke also seems quite fond of violence. And also how unabashedly confrontative he was when he met eichi at the council for the first time. And please never forget the time he meets nagisa for the first time and immediately calls poor baby nagisa a bastard in a very happy tone.
Nagisa. You know. Godfather's legal successor. Leader of adam. Leader of eden. The top unit at that time. Subaru has Zero Fears. I love he
And honestly seeing how often natsume hits tsumugi for fun i can see why subanatsu get along
subaru 🤝violence🤝 natsume

I don't understand why hotd showrunners are so weirdly obsessed with making it seem like greens are not bad, one should emphatise with all characters. It's like they know majority of people are towards Rhaenyra and the Blacks and they hate it, it's unlikely to change even after BC.
If the green actors disliked their characters so much why'd they agree to play them? These writers changed so much of greens and still they end up looking bad. Criston calling Rhaenyra names, Alicent's reaction was there for everyone to see, her ass was laughing at dinner scene too. Rhaenyra went to stop them first. Why should we care for greens? Then these weirdos have the audacity to say Rhaenyra and Alicent had hopes to reconcile even after Luke'd death? What are you smoking? There is a limit to stupidity and delusions.
Exactly!! I really don't understand this desperate trying by both the writers and the actors to empathize with the characters of the green team. They are the villain and with all the changes they've made since the book they are still the villain, the one who tore the realm apart, kill first and destroyed the house of the dragon. The only difference is that they are portrayed as stupid and delusional because in writer's mind it help to empathize with both the team. Alicent thinking that viserys change his mind after 20 years of support to rhaenyra’s claim and after seeing how much Viserys preferred Rhaenyra to all the children he had with her, aemond who chases after a baby dragon and starts speaking his language instead of the high Valyrian only to be shocked when the dragon didn't listen to him, Criston portrayed as the poor man who wanted to marry Rhaenyra to make up for breaking his oath and then attacking an old man from behind and killing him. And then ryan condal said the there is still hope for rhaenyra and alicent, what is wrong with them 😭

I must excise the fix-it plot bunny demons
Surge and Kit were wards of Windmill Village, two of the many kids for whom Mr. Tinker built toys. He created Belle to be a playmate for them in addition to his helper, and promised to adopt Surge and Kit when he finished building a house for all of them to live their happily ever after in. This promise ultimately went unfulfilled when Starline abducted Tinker. This rattled Surge and Kit, who have suffered an unfortunate history of being promised a forever home by prospective foster parents but let down; this reinforced the idea in their minds that they can only depend on each other. They also became disillusioned with Sonic, who promised to check on Tinker but failed to protect him from Starline's clutches. No longer seeing Windmill Village as a home without Tinker in it, they decided to take Belle and hide out in the nearby abandoned Eggman base (echoing when the two hid out in Starline's stolen eggbase after his death). They managed to evade the virus by hiding in the base, sending Belle out to forage for supplies despite her protests (implying the two have a hardening cruel streak). During one such excursion, she was badly damaged by a zombot, which resulted in amnesia over Mr. Tinker and her memories of Surge and Kit. The two of them presumed Belle dead. Later on, during his quest to steal Eggman's things strike out on his own, Starline locates this hidden base and subsequently finds the perfect pair of test subjects. He kidnaps them and forces them through vigorous brainwashing, using their disdain of Sonic and exaggerating their pain to such extremes that they feel nothing but hatred for him. He also "rectifies" their powerlessness by giving them powers which he portrays as "enhancements." This explains why they're such weaklings when it comes to their powers: unlike Sonic, Tails, or even Amy, they did not grow into their abilities and have no natural combat prowess. The cognitive dissonance keeping them from achieving their fullest potential is that they want to survive more than they want to fight. Therefore, their first instinct in a combat situation is to run, presenting an annoying hitch in Starline's plans. This explains why Surge has to fight off panic attacks and will begin to cry when engaging a powerful foe like Sonic, often taking swings through tears. Kit can, of course, use her tears to help her conduct a more powerful electric shock, but he notes that he doesn't like doing it. Surge demands that he does so anyhow, implying she feels her suffering doesn't matter. Ironically enough, their will to live overrides the effects of the codified metal virus that helps heal their injuries. During training, Surge almost dies when she mistimes a jump over a spike pit and gets impaled. This experience, followed by Starline's vehement berating of the pair as "useless," traumatizes Kit. Over time, their hatred of Starline grows as his abusive nature becomes harder to ignore. They really don't understand his obsession with Eggman. Eventually, they come to view Sonic, Eggman, Starline, and indeed the world that failed them, as equally worthless. One day, Surge catches Kit playing with a doll made out of scrap metal. She immediately begins to tremble, though she doesn't know why, and slaps the doll out of his hand. Stop that, you idiot; weapons don't play. Kit offers a feeble excuse. I was just… setting up a combat simulation. Yeah, yeah. You do you, Skippy.
Don't you mean Drippy?
Whatever. Surge keeps her mouth shut about the incident, feigning insolence when Starline later grills her, shoving the footage in her face. What, like you don't have your weirdo hobbies? Leave the kid alone. That's when Surge and Kit conspire to tie Starline to a chair and decides to give him a taste of his own medicine. Hey there, doc. You seem stressed. Welcome to therapy. :)
At first, Kit was as enthused as Surge about payback, but soon grew more apprehensive as Starline's protests quieted. Eventually, Starline falls asleep - Kit notes, because of his insomnia - and much to Surge's annoyance, the two must use this chance to make their escape.
When Starline wakes, he makes a recording believing himself to be Eggman, and the experience as a bad dream foisted upon him by Sonic and Tails.

would you mind sharing some Shelly Headcanons you have if youd like i amstarved of content for her
I WOULD LOVE TOO!! I can talk about her,, all day,,. Here's just a few of the headcanons I have of her!
1-) First one is half of a headcanon and half canon that's not used nearly enough in content about her. In the 'Royal Wedding' episode Stan mentions that Shelly is canonically a den leader for girl scouts which is usually a job that goes to adults or at least older teens so I imagine she's actually much more active and mature than what she's portrayed as. She's definitely still very short tempered and aggressive but I imagine it's more controlled outside of her home life where she doesn't have to be sorrounded by a neglectful family and a "golden child" brother.
2-) Much like Stan doesn't correct their grandpa when he calls him "Billy", Shelly doesn't correct him when he forgets how old she is. She actually likes the attention she gets by grandpa for being the youngest of the family although she'd never admit it cuz she doesn't want to sound childish.
3-) One the topic of family, since she has no on-screen interactions with Jimbo I can just make them all up myself and I do believe he's taken her hunting at least once and told her all about his favorite guns in his shop.
4-) She still listens to Lorde even after the big reveal, just in secret.
5-) She definitely hangs out with Cartman still and he usually finds out stuff about her way before her family does.
6-) A big reason that she has self esteem issues other than her headgear is because although he has Sharon's hair color and eye color she definitely looks more like Randy's child.
7-) She's definitely told Wendy to break up with Stan at least 3 times till Stan stopped bringing her to his house.
8_) She's bipolar and inhereted the disorder genetically (projecting...). It's where her intense anger issues stem from. (She 100% gets it from Randy but he's undiagnosed.)
9-) I headcanon that she cuts her own hair especially when she's frustrated or angry and that she started doing it when she was fairly young, at around 5. Probably started when baby Stan got way more attention that her. I tie this to my headcanon of her being bipolar and exhibiting signs of it–especially anger issues—at a very young age.
10-) As she gets older she gets more extroverted but not in a very healthy way <\3. Much like Stan and Randy she has a very addictive personality but unlike them she strictly refuses to get into smoking or drinking (or even gambling like Marvin). She thinks this will keep her safe but she starts getting addicted to the attention she gets from being more manic and roudy. Bad attention and good attention are both fine for her, especially if it comes from her parents.
11-) She loves gummy worms but because she's fucking weird she slurps them instead of bitting into them. Yep. Immediately swallows them. Fucking weirdo. I mean I guess it helps with keeping her braces in check but still fucking weird.
12-) She likes them ugly ass crusty white dogs.
13-) She has so many ugly ass printed shirts. A collector with the most exquisite taste in garbage.

Thank you Owl House
I just watched the finale of The Owl House and oh my god... I don't think I will ever be okay after this.
This show impacted my life so much. Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Star VS The Forces Of Evil. They're all great, and we commend them for revolutionizing tv animation, but The Owl House was unlike anything I've seen before.
Amazing storyline, amazing characters and one of the greatest villains in cartoon history. This show has inspired so many of my projects and creations, most from the villain alone (seriously, Belos is an INCREDIBLE villain).
I think my favorite part of it's show was it's core theme. That the main characters are all 'weirdos' and 'outsiders' that don't fit into society, so they decided to not fit in together.
I'm sure that everyone in the neurodivergent, lgbt and everyone else in that similar vein can relate to this theme, and the fact that the show empowers those people makes The Owl House incredibly special to me. As someone who is both neurodivergent and queer, this show portrays growing up different in such a beautiful and accurate way, and shows how it's nothing to be ashamed of.
I commend this show for pushing the boundary and making the main villain a 'Christian white man hellbent on wiping out a population that his environment has convinced him is evil'. While I would've loved a deeper exploration into Belos' character; how he was shaped into the evil and hateful person he is today, I think the message is obvious from the information and clues we were given.
Dana Terrace and the rest of the Owl House crew are my heroes, creating a show that has emotionally and mentally impacted me in a way I didn't think a show could since Gravity Falls ended. I hope wherever they are now, whatever they choose to do now, they won't be dealt the shorthand and be allowed to see their work through to the end. Because goddamn, even if the Owl House was cut, it was still able to tell a compelling narrative that changed an entire generation.
So once again... thank you Owl House for being one of the best shows I've ever watched
