i’m always so taken aback by some of things that make people not ship/stop shipping characters. like i saw a post about dabihawks and someone in the comments said that they used to ship them until they found out how toxic the relationship was. like i thought we were all shipping them because the relationship is so toxic. like that was the main draw for me and i thought it was the main draw for everyone else as well

Headcanon:
Honestly it lives rent free in my head that Toga could have been picked up by the hero commission and ended up being raised like Hawks and Lady Nagent.
Her quirk allows her to disguise herself as other people which is perfect for intel gathering, espionage and assassination. All the shadow work that the HC had Lady Nagent and Hawks doing would have fit her perfectly. Imagine how easy it would be for her to do an infiltration job like they had Hawks do with the PLF.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she had a bad home life like Hawks did, so they could have easily convinced her parents to give her up.

Thinking about the story given for Nagant's arrest, that she "killed another hero in an argument" vs what actually happened
Because, in an alternate view, she did kill a "hero"
A man who took her in and made her dreams a reality. A man who took down people who would threaten the peoples way of life and safety. A man who thought it necessary to do the bad things for the "right" reasons. A man who's job was to protect the people in the long run, and she killed him
She killed a "hero" in an argument
As if he wasn't going to do the same to her, in the moment

I love me a Hawks who legit does crime for the greater good only to later take a pause and go "Yeah okay, that was messed up." But then immediately follow it up with "But what did they want me to do, not save those people." Because he legit has learned no other skill from his hero commision parents than fucked up shit to save hero society.

Hero Dabi would be such a bad hero. He's the equivalent of that asshole cat who would look the hero commission in the eye as he bats a glass of water off the table.
Like yea, he patrols regularly, helps old ladies cross the road, started campfires for the unhoused, things of that nature. He probably has a pretty good fan base of disenfranchised people and goths, and is generally pretty respected by his community.
Like "Yea, that Dabi, he helped my niece move into her new apartment, what a lovely young man. He even refused the pastries we tried to give him in thanks!" So humble that boy.
I bet this kid donates his time and fire to the local food bank all the time.
And the hero public safety commission just despises him.
Dabi would definitely be a rogue agent they can't get rid of. He's not part of any hero agency, he tarnished Endeavor's good name, he refuses any and all offers of promotion by the commission, he will not play by the rules, and by god is he disrespectful.
This kid is never where the commission want him, and they are furious.

Alright Alright, hear me out: Limelight Hero Aizawa
This is, of course, based on the notion that the Hero Commission is a completely corrupt Power in the mha world and serves their own interests rather than the interests of the people they "protect".
But essentially, the Hero Commission decides that its too dangerous to let someone with a "villainous" quirk like Erasure to become an underground hero.
Underground heroes are way too secretive and have so many shady connections in the cracks of society that they can't trust someone like him to not take advantage of the job and use it for devious purposes. Or discover something that should stay secret.
So Aizawa is forced to either go Limelight or lose any chance of being a hero. Where of course he would lose the element of surprise that is key to his fighting style, have his quirk broadcasted to the world, and basically be thrown to the wolves that we call the media.
All in all he should fail. He should. But he doesn't.
Pro-Hero Eraserhead actually booms in popularity. He has both the charm of an upcoming, scrappy underdog and the allure of a bad boy who plays by his own rules. Some people want to see how he'll overcome all the odds. Some people want to get close to him and break him out of his gloomy shell. But despite everything working against him a large audience of people want to see him succeed. Sure he still has some haters and there are a bunch of assholes who hate on his quirk, but things are mostly positive.
Aizawa should be on top of the world. Yet he's fucking miserable. This isn't the life he wanted. He hates all the attention and the fucking hypocrisy of the media. He hates that people are turning him and his "tragic origin story" into a brand to be bought and sold. He hates having to play dress up and look like a pompous asshole simply to help people. Because even if he pushes the boundaries of what people consider heroic he still has to keep a certain image or else he'll get reamed by his PR managers and possibly lose the rank that keeps the Hero Commission from creating a scandal to take away his license.
Limelight Hero Aizawa has no friends, because while canon Aizawa is a loner the people in his life still make an effort to bother him into staying in touch. But as a Limelight hero he doesn't have the time or privacy to maintain any relationships. The few he wants to keep slip between his fingers because of an always changing schedule as he's pulled every which way. Aizawa is living the hero dream. And it's a goddamn nightmare.

I just realized the hero commission sent Lady Nagant to Tartarus (described to be a fate worse than death) because she wanted to stop murdering people. 💀

Kirishima: But we’re a packaged deal! You want Red Riot, you get Dynamight! You can’t have one without the other!
Hero Commission Representative: Sorry. We just never had to deal with the whole ‘bestie’ thing.
Bakugou: I’ll give you a new system!! [lunges for them]
Kirishima: [holds him back]
Bakugou: Lemme go!!
Kirishima: [still holding Bakugou back] Listen, ‘Hero Commission’, if that really is your business’ real name and I’m pretty sure it is because no one’s ever referred to you as anything else. If we both can’t become heroes, then count me out.
Bakugou: Yeah! I’m not gonna leave shitty-hair behind!!
Kirishima:
Kirishima: Thank you, Bakubro.

As dumb as it was for the chairman to pull a gun on a human rifle, my thinking is that he thought she wouldn’t ever shoot back because of the “hope” he’d given her (the grooming)
She was groomed to be an assassin, manipulated from a young age to believe what she was doing was for everyone’s peace and happiness, as if she was given an amazing opportunity and therefore should feel grateful for what the chairman did for her
But of course, she thought too much. She questioned things
So I think chairman simply expected Nagant to be too shocked at his betrayal to react fast enough. Maybe he thought Nagant would stare at him, frozen in shock as she processed what he was doing and what was going on
But chairman didn’t know that she’d seen through him. He didn’t know Nagant likely predicted this would happen, and even if she didn’t, he underestimated her reaction time. Maybe he thought emotion would stop her (some kind of “attachment” to “the one she should feel grateful to”), but as a trained assassin, Nagant stopped letting her emotions get in the way of finishing the job years ago
There’s an interesting shot in the episode this happens where, after Nagant pulls out her gun, there’s a zoomed-in frame of chairman’s eyes showing that he’s shocked at her readiness to fight back
Tumblr media
It wasn’t in the manga, but I really like how Bones added his reaction. It shows how naïve he was, thinking that Nagant would never act against him, but she was the one ready to fight back as soon as he showed any sign he would kill her
(Even if you put this anime shot aside and only look at the manga, I feel this is what makes the most sense for chairman’s decision in this scene)
It’s funny, actually, because he may have expected Nagant to be too shocked to react, but in the end he was the one too shocked to follow through. He didn’t expect her to kill him

your Face to face with the red-winged man in the void of self-destruction you made to get back him and the hero commission.. but no good fight starts at the main point let's go back a few lyrics shall we?
You stare at the white walls every day in this god-forsaken place. The lie of it being a "wonderful" training place for future heroes is bullshit. 24/7 vocal rest unless you're in training so you can't "run out of sound" whatever that means. white walls white clothes and constantly being compared to others. Ever since you got your quirk, you can't even sing or feel anything with someone slapping a muzzle-like contraption on you. at this point, you've mostly given up the only thing... well, the person that had made this bearable is the bird guy named Hawks. the adult at the hero commission swoons over him. As kids, it never got to his head but as you've gotten older it got to his head.. cocky man.. getting all this praise and you sit here looking like a lost puppy most of the time.
As time went on your hatred towards your past friend and this shity place that claimed to make the "best heroes" only grew. Your dreams of being number one have died out only to be left with the goal of bringing this place down as soon as possible. Wishing to of never learned how corrupt your own dream can be. Papers on top of paperwork on you from every single experiment you've been through are stacked in the corner of your "room" which can be better described as a jail cell.
"We can't do anything with them without risking damage"
"dump them. we have the bird to use from this round of test subjects anyways" a harsh tone you hear from outside the door. We're they talking about you? Are you finally gonna get revenge-
Which brings us to now your quirk in question? Euphonious Voice. it allows you to make a virtual space for yourself or others making you the main puppetry with your own voice. downside? once your energy is out the world collapses. You still don't remember what happened on the day you were let free. Can't remember how you got a new life all you knew from the moment you woke up you had to work, so you did. training every day. practicing vocal scales. Growing strong to become a force that can't be stopped running on pure revenge. Using his stupid face and red wings as motivation for this very moment.
Face to face, limb to limb with your old friend turned enemy. You can't understand how someone who claims to stand up for peace can sit back and not speak out about the tortures of your childhoods. As darkness floods around you incasing all signs of light to form your own personal revenge world.
"yn, CUT IT OUT YOU'LL HURT EVERYONE" hawks calls out distressed trying to break your rhythm of rage
"over my dead body birdboy" your words like Venum spitting out nothing will stop you now.
You and him the only signs of any form of hero or human life in the world you've made, as tension builds in the fight he gets closer then just as hawks is about to lay what he thinks is a finally blow the end to this madness...
BOOM,LIGHTS OUT
A large flash grows across The black relm as it grows to a different shade of black almost void like. All life seems...gone as the sounds of your songs flatten almost lost in the void of what can only be described as self-destruction but did it really end that way?
Wait..no..my..my story can't end like this..can it? Everything I worked for..just over?! All the pain? That fight? Just gone? C'mon give more to the story! give more to MY story!
The end... Or is it

Questions out of general curiosity:
In MHA, we see, Izuku is getting help from the US pilots (Star n Stripe's friends) to reach UA from the Okuto Island. No complain there BUT
Where is Japan's Air Force? The JASDF?
It's one of the top 10 air forces in the world and somehow in MHA, they don't exist?? 🤷‍♀️ We only saw some sci-fi air cargo that belongs to the Tartarus prison and only ONE aircraft that dropped Best Jeanist to the battlefield. Where's others?
Also, where is the Japanese military?
Is it disbanded because otherwise the Hero Business can't monopolize if the number of villains get significantly reduced? Feud with the Hero Commission? Yaoyorozu family's influence? What happened?
