Did you notice how some AFO fans who used to like DFO Theory started to hate it and suddenly attack the same fans? Maybe this is due to generalizing DFO as OOC? I once saw someone saying that "to respect someone else's opinion, just remember that you have also changed your opinion several times" but these people only seem to attack what they once liked for no apparent reason, other than "nooooo my beautiful AFO is not like this 😭😭"
Yes, it is a trend that I did notice when I first came into the fandom that a lot of people would say they are former DFO. Then say how they realize how 'stupid' the theory was and unrealistic. As if suddenly now they are the pinnacle of rational and totally know everything about a fictional character.
I never claim my interpretation is the canon, because I know I could end up wrong. That just how it is and I'm always willing to adjust my headcanons with the source material. But honestly I think the AFO fans that liked DFO and now hate it only changed because other people started being hostile to the theory.
Like popular writers, artist, and all kinds of people begun to sneer at that interpretation beside those in the little community. Seeing it as just trying to 'soften' AFO or as something gross to do to the MC. Or worse some people like DFO but hate AFO so when the former DFO see that they change their mind to double down on disliking DFO as they LIKE AFO. As they see it as like you said 'softening' him to make him palatable. The theory itself, however, is only parentage.
Like it still be valid to assume AFO had Izuku with Inko from a One Night stand, and Hisashi Midoriya is just the guy that stepped up for single mom Inko. We have evidence of there possibly being more aware but if don't like it then that an option too.
DFO theory is simply the theory that Izuku Midoriya is RELATED to All for One. That is the bare bones minimum, I don't care if you are OH HE LOVES HIM or HE AN EXPERIMENT or whatever you want to believe. None of that really registers much to me nor should matter, like DFO can be used in many manner of ways.
The ones that seem to hate is most... Well they tend to either want Virgin All for One (for sexual reasons) or want him to be purely asshole(for sexual or just because love assholes that can go either way) or maybe fear of being the outsider. There also many who claim that every time he does a more evil act that it PROOF he never father a child.
Like tell me you never had a mentally unstable parent that does outrageous things. Anyone can have a kid, it sure doesn't take much for a guy to one and done for various reasons. We also literally been confirmed now he can change his face, DNA, and has actually done so. Also we've seen how he is with Yoichi, literal proof of his ability to love it just dark and twisted.
It why DFO is so interesting since if is the child of AFO it an avenue to explore his character. How WOULD AFO raise a child now that we knows what happened with Yoichi? Is he aware of Izuku? Does he care? We've seen him vault family and say how precious family is.
But then, none of that matters to the former DFO fans who now are DFO hates. They just don't want to be the weirdo outsiders believing in something that isn't even 'canon' and as I've said many times. I'm not exactly going to stop writing or enjoying it even if it NOT canon.
No one can dictate what I like and enjoy. And those people projecting hatred once they loved it?
I hope they know it ok to just like different things and change your mind. They should be happy with what they like instead of just wanting to be 'right'.

I appreciate your bravery, not everyone in this fandom can be so direct. Heck! Even the critical/anti-fans are also quite biased based on their favorite "victim villains". You are quite brave to say that, MHA started regressing after AFO was removed after kamino (so true!) because people say that AFO is the main problem/boring character of MHA and he should have been removed entirely from MHA after kamino (which would have been cool if OFA didn't exist too). So yeah, your post is appreciated ✨

*has a city busting cannon in his goddamn arm* REPEAT-use btw- not a one time expense, and all these NPC characters (most of whom DO NOT possess endurance or regen quirks btw) survive anyway.
At least a town-city busting feat, and ALL of them survived. Come on, after Jiro did that "you made my friends cry" shit, yeah Final Arc fell flat on her goddamn face. Between that, Ochako's Love Therapy Session, Rei somehow surviving Toya with no combat training, Deku's Ultimate Talk-No Jutsu Flashback--SMASH!! Shit's a joke.
And it's ironic that All For One is at the center of this L, because My Hero started regressing the moment he was removed from the board after Kamino Arc.
That's when the bullshit really started. That Lasertag dodgeball bullshit with the Exam. They immediately supplanted him with Nine (Dollar Tree AFO) then Chisaki, then that stupid as fuck Festival. Then that meaningless as fuck Joint Training Arc, just dry as fuck one after the other. After All For One was gone, the tension, the stakes just dropped.
It's not like he was running shit overseas or anything, or ran the goddamn prison, or he had a clone & the AFO they confiscated was a Perfected-Nomu which would've made more sense. This is a man who is older than 100 years old, a lot of people forget that. Man this shit was dropped hard, so mishandled.
Between Horikoshi's lack of experience, and Shonen Jump breathing down his neck-- Coulda been worse but My Hero really should've been this Generations Justice League Unlimited x Avatar The Last Airbender x Teen Titans 2003
It tried to be all of them in it's own way (Because if you notice, Horikoshi is a fanboy of Western Media), and failed to emulate a single one of them in the ways that mattered.
And the issues began & (from what i'm seeing CHP418++) will end with AFO.
So unfortunate.

pov: *side character explodes with a blast radius that covers several blocks, we just met this woman so her death means less than nothing
re: *she survives anyway, because My Hero Academia
pov: *rabbit b*tch, irrelevant to the plot, annoying, ironically gets more action shit to do solo than the 1A girls we actually know, so whomp to that (Ochako breaks shonen female lead curse) bullshit.
re: *rabbit-idiot survives, SOMEHOW survives a Nomu that can bend spend fucking SPACE-- what's her power? She Jump Good, & kicky. That's it. vs a power that commands a fundamental force of reality.

I think Izuku was originally a Vessel alternative for All for one, All for one did not have Tenko as the only candidate, he experimented and considered other options like Dabi and Number 6, I believe Izuku was a test, if Someone genetically related could be a vessel, and also curiosity of what the result would be of Mixing All for one with a fourth generation Quirk, just like he did with Shigaraki and Number 6 he possibly moved the pieces in an attempt to turn Izuku into what he wanted
All for one, just as he did with Number 6 and Shigaraki, encouraged heroic desires in Izuku, to later turn this into hatred and resentment, All for one, to avoid attracting attention, blocked Izuku's Quirk, making Izuku appear to be Quirkless, similar to what he did with Tenko, the difference is that he didn't remove the Factor here
All for one knew that Izuku would be bullied for being Quirkless, and hoped that crushing his dreams would turn into hatred and resentment towards hero society, just knowing the injustice and cruelty of the world, generating the hatred that All for one needed, I don't think Allfor ordered Lil Tsubasa to be killed because he was bullying Izuku, but rather because he went too far and almost killed Izuku by throwing him from a great height.
However, Izuku held no grudge or hatred towards the people he was supposed to hate, for obvious reasons this made him less qualified to be a vessel than Shigaraki
All for one probably abandoned his project with Izuku for good after All Might left him disfigured, not having shown himself suitable as a vessel, is perhaps the reason why All for one calls Izuku Worthless, if he fails to prove himself worthy of his vessel for All for one he is also not worthy of the One for All which is why he considered it a mistake on the part of the predecessors to entrust the OFA to him
As the Danger Sensor never activated with All for One, it is possible that he has a certain consideration towards Izuku, but he certainly wouldn't admit it.

Even more proof how rigged and untrustworthy jump polls are!
Imagine you spend a lot of money to be able to vote for your favorite character and then the people who count the votes simply just ignore these because its already decided whos in the top 10.
And lets not talk about the fact that it SHOULDNT be allowed to vote multible times! If people can SPAM their favorite character you cant call that a poll. This is so emberassing for shonen jump.
I heard a lot of pissed off japanese fans plan to contact shonen jump. I dont think it will help much but at least it helps to make people more aware that the polls are bullshit and you shouldnt trust them!

@marunalu, what is the possibility of the leaks being mixed? I mean, some of the panels looks quite fake. What if the panels are mixed, fake panels+ some real panels. (Specially, Izuku with amputated arms looks the most fake)
And if the leaks are all true, maybe Horikoshi really messed up this chapter. Because chapter 419 single handedly destroyed characterization of Tomura Shigaraki, Izuku Midoriya and even the big bad AFO. And we Readers have nothing to do about it.
Well... that DOES look like the afo/shigaraki from the leaks. Urgh.... lets just hope then the translation was fake 🤢
Side note: izuku has tears in his eyes but smiles. Maybe its because of dhiggy or he found out WHO afo really is

Yes... The AFO fights with All might are sensible.
And if the objective is to make BK character fans happy then the only part that should be only kept is BK saving All Might from AFO and then stop and have a heart to heart conversation with All Might and making peace with himself. Because BK was always hungry about winning something, so a proper character development for him would be him forgetting about winning and fighting and just saving All Might because he thinks he is the reason why All Might retired.
If BK didn't fight AFO head on it'd have been more logical and it'd also give other 1-A, and other UA characters to at least have a fight with AFO. Because the name of the villain is literally ALL FOR ONE, meaning everyone, I mean everyone should get to fight him, not just some handful characters from Gunga (yes, Jirou is one of my favorites but I really don't like the fact that her quirk "made" the spirits/quirks inside AFO rebel?! Sorry Jirou darling that's just bullshit! But making vibration for Hawks's katana was a brilliant move 💜+ the blocking of AFO's attack to save Hawks by creating a wall of vibration in the air.💜), just for some cheap "cool" moments. It'd have been very helpful for the theme that All Might is not alone anymore, because now All Might alone doesn't need to save people, people will stand up for themselves. (But I guess Horikoshi chose to show reality that people will always be sitting ducks, only just cheering from the sidelines 🤷🏻♀️)
But of course, the BK vs AFO was only for cheap cool moments. In reality, these were just a waste of time, effort,inks and pages.
(Maybe the only good thing those chapters did is, a good exercise for art for Horikoshi 😄)
I sincerely wish that we in the next chapters, All for one, would make some comment regarding the defeat of the real AFO because we cannot deny that it was a pathetic defeat, and the Vestige AFO knows what happened since Tomura knows

I wish we could retcon those chapters of BK vs AFO. Chapter 405, 406,408(last parts only),409 and infamous chapter 410.
They were so useless chapters. Those chapters really didn't connected to the story as a whole and did an stupid job making OFA 2nd user- Kudou and BK parallel (It's also the reason Kudou's ranking as a character dropped for me 😑). The chapter where AFO vs BK happened was such a useless chapter of wasted ink that even Horikoshi was aware of it but he had to do it. In the chapter Horikoshi hinted his awareness by AFO's line: "It's just a incidental resemblance. But it feels like 'Kudou's willpower' has crossed space and time to defeat me".
It basically expresses how Horikoshi HAD to bend the story and the characters over just to give BK a major villain fight 😒. 'Kudou's space-time crossing willpower' is just an excuse for that.
I sincerely wish that we in the next chapters, All for one, would make some comment regarding the defeat of the real AFO because we cannot deny that it was a pathetic defeat, and the Vestige AFO knows what happened since Tomura knows

I remember that line Tomura gave in reference to the tragedy and all that terrible hardship. To destroy society to it very foundation to give rise to something different. I imagine people think that if it all because of AFO it some how 'cheapens' the critic on society.
But the thing is AFO is the very PRODUCT of societies very foundation that was built on the blood of innocence. He is born from it poverty, it starvation, it cruelty, and abuse of power. He watched as people tore each other apart, forced to kill since youth while many people pretended to be on the side of good. He took in everything that society itself tried to pretend it didn't have and made it his identity to exploit because Society ALLOWED him to do so.
All for One would not have existed if there had been even one person that looked at those feral children in the streets. Saw they had powers and yet still extended a hand, but because no one did a monster was born from societies very malice. Trying desperately to have what everyone else has, to imitate everything else society can give but also to exploit others with no regard for who is crushed. Just like how society allows people to fall through the cracks, as AFO says society makes it easy to turn good people into villains.[MHA: Vigilantes]
Showing and exploiting the very weakness in that society. So him becoming that very house, to laying the foundation and being part of constructions. He is something to be defeated yet is not something that could easily go away just with a few words.
It like a poetic way of saying as long as Society continues to be the way it is, then All for One will never allow himself to die. That is what Tomura and Izuku need to fight against as long as society doesn't change another AFO will rise to exploit it.
