Hey, I just wanted to share something with you, as someone who's so invested in the Palestine conflict, I hope it might inspire hope, even a little.

I was born and live in Egypt, a very conservative and religious country. These days I deleted my Tiktok and rarely ever use Twitter, as I'm in my senior year, and seeing the constant deaths and torture was getting into me so much that I couldn't even eat or drink properly, nevertheless properly study. I honestly am not proud of myself for doing so, but there's comfort in the fact Egypt is so Pro-Palestine. There's a lot to be done, and even for people like me, we can help.

My school has been donating food, clothes and blankets to Palestine. The McDonald's in here have been trying to distance themselves, claiming they're "100% Egyptian", only to get mocked and insulted. I go by the local McDonald's, there's a lot of schools where I am, around 5 in two blocks, and where before they were constantly so full, these days they're so empty. I can only see maybe 3, 4 people in there. A lot of people in my school are on a complete strike, against every American product. We've resorted to buying and getting local products instead. Egypt is doing very poorly economically at the moment, but there's still a lot of effort into knocking out American products, even if not by the companies, by the youth and the children. I can't go a single class without one of my teachers openly supporting Palestine. My Arabic teacher constantly uses the people in Gaza to teach me grammar, calling them brave and courageous. My geography teacher denies Isreal, and has been in league with others to get more donations and aid. Egyptians believe so truly that Palestine will be free that it's hard not to think so too. I've had classmates openly agree that if they could, they'd join the army to help fight for Palestine, I've seen more people than ever mocking the current regime, I've seen more people than ever falling out of the American illusion and seeing it for what it is. I've spent a lot of religion classes being taught Arabic brotherhood and chivalry, when previously, the lessons were stereotypically conservative in nature and I used to despise them for it.

Yes, the government sucks like every other, but there's an air of open support in here. No one is losing their jobs for stating the truth, homes and shops are waving the Palestinian flag. Even the antisemitism, which was rampant, has seen a noticeable decline. People in here stand for Palestine.

I want to also let you know you've been an inspiration for people, or at least, to me. I want to be able to participate more, and I see your reposts and reblogs and I want to do even more than what I did at the start, which was retweeting and reposting and sharing what I can to my friends. Unfortunately due to my current living situation and my terrible memory, I missed being able to donate to the school, but they have stated to open up donations again soon, and I'm preparing in advance for that one. I was not raised Zionist, but I was raised warned against participating in political affairs, saying I'd be put in more trouble, and even could be killed. But I see you and I see so many Americans losing their jobs and being branded criminals and as moral failures for speaking out, and I find it harder and harder in me not to also speak out. And even if I'm not constantly retweeting and reposting, there is something I can do. You helped me realize that, and I'd like to thank you.

I hope this cheers you up even a little, I've noticed your posts these days expressing how much this has been upsetting you. It's been upsetting to all of us, and I want you to know that it's not fruitless, no matter how many western countries and how many bootlickers make you feel otherwise. This ordeal has taught me the world is a brotherhood, politics and money are never a reason for why we should not stand together, and why we shouldn't speak for those having their voice silenced.

Please excuse me if something comes off wrong or unnatural. Like I said, I was born and I live in Egypt, English is not my first language and I still have issues communicating my personal thoughts in it. Please never don't stand for Palestine. Please never lose hope for it, like the Egyptians never have and never will. Please never let people make you feel hopeless and insane.

Thank you for listening to me, thank you for caring about Palestine when it would've been easy not to. Thank you for using your platform, and if you found it in you to read this thing, thank you for giving time to a brown Arab, when the world so strongly encourages you not to. Please continue to inspire justice, and I hope the world one day continues to inspire hope for you.

😭 anon, I cant explain how much I appreciate you sending this message. I know there is hope for Palestinian liberation, I know that we will see freedom for Palestine. But god do I need the reminder sometimes that we aren’t all just shouting into the void. My country of Australia shamefully takes a cowardly stance on Palestine, always deferring to the US to guide our foreign policy, and yet always claims moral superiority over other countries such as yours. Thank you, really thank you so much for sending this message. I feel so so honoured to have earned an audience that includes you. I believe an audience does reflect an artist, and to know I have done you proud in any way makes me feel full.

And please don’t ever feel ashamed of your English, you are eloquent and have a wonderful, compassionate voice, and you have inspired hope in me for yet another day.

some of you might be aware of this already, but early October, my eldest sibling & only sister suddenly passed away due to a seizure, she had been dealing with epilepsy her whole life.

this has been incredibly difficult for me, and my family. her passing was incredibly sudden, she was only 30.

for the past month or so ive been struggling to find any motivation to draw, and barely able to work.

she was the incredibly devoted owner of a doberman named Remi(Ramsey). Me and my sister traveled 4 hours to pick him up three years ago. He's a goofball who tears up socks and needs constant supervision. My parents love him, but I can tell he is a lot of work for two people who have fulltime jobs and have lived long lives.

I'm going to try to help them take care of him as much as possible, I feel that it's the least we can do to honor my sister's memory, since she loved him so deeply.

My sister always wanted a doberman, for years she would watch videos about dobermans and talk about them to anyone who would listen.

Remi wasn't easy to raise - I shared a room with my sister when she got him in 2020, she still worked a 9-5, five days a week, so I was his nanny for most of his difficult childhood. I was his chew toy for the first year of his life about - but that only made him bond closer to me. If he wasn't following my sister, I was choice #2. Dobermans are "velcro dogs", they were bred to guard their owners, and because of this, they are fiercely loyal. I've been moved out of my parent's place for going on 3 years, and my sister had just moved with Remi out a few months prior to her passing.

A week before my sister's sudden passing, we had to board Remi at my dog daycare job while my family and I took a trip out of state. When dropping him off, although he was happy to see me again for the first time in months, the moment my sister turned her back to him he began to panic. He got through the boarding all right but my coworkers told me he would cry and wait by the door for me or her. When my sister picked him up, they said he jumped all 80+lbs into her arms.

Since my sister's passing, Remi has been directionless. He's with my family, people he trusts, but he's bored, confused, and heartbroken. My sister would often take him to the dog park, social events, on runs, etc. but my parent's can't do that in their age. If my apartment allowed large dogs, I would take him, but I can't, and I see him maybe twice a month if possible.

Ramsey's Christmas List

I made a christmas list for him of things that might help my parents better take care of him. We're trying different food brands out because he struggles with frequent stomach issues, and we can't seem to figure out what food my sister was feeding him. This list is by no means a necessity for him, but I tried to add things to help with his boredom and keep him stimulated when my parents can't give him all their attention.

i do want to state that my family is capable of providing him with the essentials to live, we arent irresponsible. i would just like to help my parents out since a 3 year old 80-90lb doberman is a lot of work to be suddenly placed on them soley. And I worry for his health and well-being sometimes - Remi has a tendency to eat/tear random objects when he's bored.

As we said in our closing message at the end of this year’s auction, we've become something bigger and better than we ever imagined we could be when our journey began in 2018. As we mark half a decade of Marvel Trumps Hate, we want to share a few milestones with you starting with this year's auction results, so if you're used to our auction results posts…well, this one will look a little different. 😉

This year, 152 "Marvel"-ous creators came forward to offer 264 auctions.

And this year, we raised…

Back in 2018, our first auction total of $19,262.52 blew our minds—and this is over $16,700 more than that! 😮💖🎉

This was a quieter year than most (surely we're not the only ones suffering burnout because this has been A Year), so we're extremely grateful and proud of what we accomplished together. We broke records, some of which we were aiming for and some which we weren't. Of the ones we didn't expect, the record for the highest amount donated to a charity, which we smashed in 2021 ($6,349.98 to Planned Parenthood), was shattered with a whopping $8,039.99 going to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). We also had the biggest amount raised by a single auction this year: an unbelievable $2,101.67. All hail the power of pods!

And the biggest record of all that we set in 2023…

Drum roll, please…

With the help of 923 unique creators offering 2,217 auctions over the past five years, we raised a grand total of…

WE RAISED OVER $200,000, EVERYONE! No, we can't believe our eyes either. We're floored to say the least although maybe we shouldn't have been surprised. Every year, you manage to surprise us and set records, and this year was no different. You came out of the gate running and somehow you blazed right past our expectations, continued to make us adjust our stretch goals as bids and donations came in, and hit a number we weren't sure we'd reach even as we began to hope for it.

It’s been an incredible journey, with the mod chat pinging at all hours with excited gifs, effusive heart emojis, and inarticulate keyboard smashes as we expressed our love for the wonderful people in our fandom. It’s been very hard not blurting out the milestones as we reached them when we desperately wanted to share these amazing results with you all.

Creators, we couldn't have started this auction without you. We loved seeing so many veteran creators sign up again and were pleasantly surprised by how many new faces showed up to the party.

Bidders, as crazy as it sounds, most donations were small ones including a lot of those crazily high winning bids—so many of them were the result of people pooling their five dollars together! This has been consistently the case since MTH began. It just goes to show how much of an impact you can have when you’re part of something bigger than yourself. Each donation has a ripple effect, and enough ripples can cause a wave. You matter, and you can make a difference.

We also owe our success to our amazing signal boosters. There can’t be an auction without any participants, so to every fandom community Tumblr that agreed to reblog our posts, every Discord server mod who let us post announcements, and every person who shared our posts and encouraged their fandom friends to sign up and/or bid, thank you so much! Together, we reached hundreds of fantastic creators and bidders from all corners of the Marvel fandom, many of whom we didn't know and some who were hearing about us for the first time.

We’re so touched by the massive number of people who donated above and beyond their pledged amount, creators who took on multiple auctions and offered multiple winner slots, and bidders who accepted their second-place wins with such eagerness! We also had people make donations in the spirit of MTH even though they didn’t win an auction, which was beyond generous.

In addition to the astounding amount of money we were able to raise for charity, MTH was successful in other ways. We strove to be as inclusive as possible, determined to make this event a fandom-wide effort. Considering that the auctions covered over 381 unique platonic and romantic relationships and character-centric options (if we include "all ships/gen"-inclusive relationships, this number is even higher) across 36 universes within the Marvel multiverse, we can safely say that we accomplished our goal.

This spirit of inclusion also applies to our auctions and charities. Every one of 264 auctions was bid on, and every one of our 30 supported charities received donations. We’re in awe of your commitment to supporting all our creators and charities and thrilled that you spread all the love around, bidders!

But how do I know? And shouldn’t I reblog it just in case? It’s a valid concern. Fortunately, there are a few quick steps anyone can take to assess the validity of a charity request. Because at the end of the day, spreading a just-in-case message can have real negative consequences as other people continue to spread the scam on a just-in-case basis.

A sense of urgency (sickness, eminent surgery, etc)

They ask you directly to give them something

Familiarity, such as calling you “dear” or “hun”

Comments turned off

New account with few if any posts

Direct messages that ask for privacy in the matter

Use of pets, children, irrelevant mention of demographics (please help a disabled queer single parent feed their sick cat, etc)

No response to requests for more information

Copy and paste message that gets sent to numerous people

Photos that do not match up with the origin as found through reverse image search

Lack of creativity: you receive a similarly or identically worded request from a random account

Melodramatic backstory--we rescued this cat from an alligator attack that almost took the cat's eye!

Donation account linked to a country at high risk for hosting scam operations

And others. These are not ironclad rules, nor do they always show up in every scam post. Maybe they ARE a disabled queer single parent who can't afford to feed their sick cat. But these elements are patterns you can look for in order to make an informed judgment call. There is at least one popular tumblr account here that will not post any donation links unless the asker fills out a form allowing the account holder to independently prove their identity and issue. If a person is truly desperate and actually needs help, they will fill out that form. Asking for more information is always a good idea, as is doing a reverse image search to see where else the photos might have been posted. Checking keywords on tumblr is also a good bet. Remember: posting lies is quick and easy. Providing proof is not. And that’s critical if money is involved.

Scammers suck. But some of them are very good at what they do. They are masters of using people’s guilt and empathy against them.

Let's dig deeper.

First, let's check out that melodramatic backstory. It's a doozy!

It was actually her Birthday yesterday….well her gotcha Birthday! We found her on our balcony 4 years ago after an awful noise was heard and I still don’t know if she jumped up scared from something or if she was thrown on there 😔 She wasn’t chipped. Vet said it looked like she hadn’t long had kittens and looked about 3 years old herself. Couldn’t find her owners, so she joined our family. (Oh I looked for kittens believe me) She is the sweetest girl we ever met. She even purrs when she sleeps 😻we so love her. We just very recently lost our cat Mimi. She had cancer sadly but we fought so hard to help her but in the end it won. We have an elderly dog called Billa who just two weeks ago turned 20!!!! Any day now we could lose her, she’s feeling her age 😔 I mention those two because it’s just too overwhelming and feels like Maggie is the only one I can help now. Upon an annual vet visit recently with Maggie….so I could get flea meds for her and her brother Milow that they were due to have…the vet found she had two masses….or tumors. One at the bottom of her back next to her tail (I don’t know how I didn’t see it before I’m so ashamed) and when she pressed on her stomach, my loving Maggie started growling which I can honestly say in the time we’ve had her she’s never done that. We did an X-ray and she found a mass in her stomach 😔 we also did a biopsy. This is just so unexpected and so overwhelming after losing Mimi and knowing we will be losing Billa soon…just can’t lose Maggie also. I hate being in this position. I really pay forward as much as I can. I’ve helped out a couple of women with bags and cases of food for the cat colony’s they feed. One woman with food who has a lot of fosters who needed help with food. I think it’s 3 different pet surgeries I’ve helped contribute to for their treatment. It sucks to be on this side now but I’m really praying somehow it might be my turn to get some help to help Maggie get her ct scan so they can figure out the surgery route to remove the tumor from her stomach. I wish I was in a better situation at this moment to not need any help. We’ve always been there to help our babies no matter what they’ve needed, you have to try at least to help them.. And we’ve been able to pay for it ourselves until now. Now I’m able to work here, it can help set us up for future pet issues….I mean, we do everything for these guys including going to work lol but I’ve literally only had my permanent status the last few days instead of visas and it’s all been on my hubby until now who has been amazing, but after paying for Mimi’s help and then end of life, my flight to and from England for my immigration and all those fees and just paying for everything on his own…there’s a lack of funds now. I just want Maggie to get some help and will somehow have to make this happen for her, so please if you have the means to, you can donate to my paypal which is linked down below

Come on, dude. At least be creative. Please make note of the highlights: dramatic injury, insistence (with evidence!) that the scammer is a Good Person Who Gives Back, Cancer Cat & Old Dog supporting characters, immigration drama regarding visas, sick cat had kittens that were never found, etc.

[speculation incoming] Also, laws regarding the importation of pet animals from other countries are strict, and always involve a vet visit. I doubt a vet would clear a cat with tumors to fly out of the country. Even if they did, the timeline here is weird. This vet clinic is in California. [speculation over]

Okay now let's look at these photos. (PSSST I instantly knew this person was a scammer because I've seen these exact x-rays and screenshots on other posts with different cat images. That's something else to look for. Scammers want to expend as little energy as possible in their hunt for your money.)

Where is the scam coming from?

Hovering over the Paypal link, I see the account is located in the Philippines, a country with a high risk of scam hosting. Red flags on red flags.

How to Reverse Image Search

Find a search engine that will let you search by image. This is Google Images on a Firefox browser on PC. Clicking the little camera gives me the option to upload, paste, or give the URL to a photo.

This time, the photo search wasn't helpful. There were no identical matches that Google picked up right away. But I'm including how to do this anyway because it's good to know.

We all know tumblr search sucks, but after looking up "cat scam" in the search bar, I found Everything.

Wait a minute.

SHIT THEY GOT MAVERICK POST CANCELED

@kyra45 appears to have amassed some good resources for finding and documenting these scams.

Be aware, be smart, report scam accounts for spam, block them, and do not post donation links "just in case."

Spring 2024 Commissions are Open!

A like, reblog, and share go a long way!

Thanks to my incredible community, I was able to obtain some different style pen grips to make writing and doing art a little less painful! And that means: my commissions are once again open!

It also means that, since my quarter one bills are paid and I've obtained the accessibility items I was looking for, the first $100 of these commissions is going directly into mutual aid. The first $50 will be given to 10 GoFundMe campaigns out of Gaza (found and verified through Operation Olive Branch), and the next $50 are going towards menstrual products to donate to my city's Free Store (a place where people in need can "shop" for free, and hygiene items are currently on the donation list).

I am, of course, Just Some Guy™, so if you don't like my art style or don't trust internet strangers to follow through, I do highly recommend checking out Operation Olive Branch. They're doing incredible work with finding and verifying Gaza GoFundMe campaigns, and even if you can't afford to donate, spreading the word helps!

Instead of doing a flat overall number of slots, I've decided to set a number of slots available by color options. So, there are 4 sketches, 3 flat colors, 2 full shadings, and 1 color line art with full shading.

As it currently stands, I think 2 full shading and 1 color line art is the maximum of those types of commissions I can accept for the next few months, but this is subject to change. The sketch and flat color commissions, however, are easier to do, so when I finish one from those categories, a slot will be renewed. To see what slots are available, check the Ko-fi module, or see what's in the current commission queue.

Please read the rules and TOS closely! Mistakes happen and there is grace, but repeatedly crossing rules and boundaries (requesting blacklisted ships, content I stated I won't draw, using my art in commercial graphics without telling me, etc.) will result in my no longer doing business with you. I reserve the right to turn down any commission I'm not comfortable with, be it skill-wise or content-wise.

You can request a deadline earlier than 60 days through the Ko-fi module, and I will let you know if a deadline feels unrealistic (e.g. giving me 3 days to do a full shading with color line art piece, I would tell you I need at least a week, etc.) so that we can make a plan that works for both of us.

I want to help Palestine but I don't know what to do. I have neurological issues and struggle with memory. I'm suicidal - bearing full witness would break me. They are begging to be heard and I cannot ignore them - not as a Jew, not as a disabled person who struggles to put things into words and is often invisible, but I'm so scared I'm going about this the wrong way

I've managed to donate an e-sim - that was good - but I'm scared my other efforts were useless, that I won't be able to do good, that the posts I find which claim to be kind or helpful are hiding cruelty I can't notice. I donated but then I heard the donations weren't going through. Just. Scared my efforts are pointless or even worse harmful.

Current goals/moral standpoint:

-Do not share suffering without a means to ameliorate it. To do otherwise will induce hopelessness. Be practical.

-Do not reblog posts I do not understand.

Are these good? (Again - please only answer if you up for it. I just needed to share this someone kind and I'm okay if there is no answer.)

Little bit of context: I'm relatively divorced from my culture and know very little of it, which is why I'm wary of sharing things with hidden cruelty. I'm not adept at spotting hidden meaning or antisemitism. I did read Maus at a young age - carried that horror around permanently, I think.

I wasn't sure myself how best to answer your question about how to help, so I decided to phone a friend. Please see this post for some excellent suggestions by someone who has been doing the work from the Israeli side.

As for protecting your mental health: please don't torment yourself by doomscrolling or seeking out the horror. (Do as I say on this, not as I do - this is great advice that I personally cannot follow, but it sounds like you have plenty of other struggles of your own to worry about that I do not.) You are much more useful to folks if you are strong; outside supporters need to take turns so as not to burn out.

I think these principles you laid out are great and a lot of people would do well to hold by them.

In the morning, still too early, the sun arose at the horizon, slowly taking its position in the blue sky. The birds' wings were flapping as they flew over the soft ground, over the rain that had just ended this morning. In several parts of the palace, workers were ready to start another day of serving the kingdom.

Yet in a quiet room lit by a bit of sunlight that made it through the thick curtains covering the window, a woman was still asleep in the arms of her love. Warmth was shared by the two naked bodies enveloped in the satin blanket.

Under those eyelashes, two blue eyes stared at her beautiful face as he supported his head with one firm hand. Lips curved into a smile, clearly proud to have an angel within his reach, in his arms. He moved his fingers to tuck a strand of your hair from covering your cheek and then brought you back closer.

Childe watched as his wife's brow furrowed before her eyes opened, revealing the exact color of Ramon flowers—his current favorite flower.

"Good morning, angel." He greets you.

You looked at him while drowsily blinking your eyes. He's so beautiful, with his messy hair and the smile he gives you. You lower your sight to his broad chest and muscular abs, bringing in the curve of your own lips that make him laugh.

“Checking me out already? It's still early, you know." You hit his chest lightly as your reaction to his comment. Childe presses a kiss on your forehead. "Did you have a nice dream?"

You make an effort to recall the last bits of your dream, grinning when you do. The image of you and Childe hand in hand through a field of flowers, with the sun shining its warm light out. You nodded in response, bringing yourself close to his bare skin and picking up every sweet scent on him from your bath last night.

"It was a very beautiful dream." you say to him.

All your life, you've always wondered what you'll become after you lose your abilities as an oracle. Yet, you did not imagine it being this sweet.

Childe lands another one on your lips. "Let's spend the day in bed, hmm?" he suggested.

You laugh, and he couldn't find anything more beautiful than that. "You know we can't. I'm sure word of me regaining consciousness has spread; I need to meet some people.” You see his lips curl into a frown.

"I can always chase them away."

When you hit his chest again, Childe let out a fake cry of pain.

"After you prohibited anyone to come see me when I was unconscious? No, thank you. There are few things that need to be cleared up.” You took your robe from the sofa near the window, slipped it on, and tightened the knot over your stomach. While you were adjusting it, you remembered something.

“Ajax.”

Childe gives you his full attention. “What is it? Is something wrong?” His blue eyes scanned you from head to toe, checking for cuts or anything else that would make you uneasy.

You give him a shake of the head. You sat on the bed while gathering your strength to tell him.

"I know who devised that scheme." The next thing you see is him widening his eyes. You took a deep breath before continuing, "On the day of the attack, I had a vision of the future."

Childe shifted in his seat, and his obvious discomfort was clear to see. Of course, the fact that you used to be an oracle was hard to comprehend.

You hold his hand. "I understand that you still are unable to believe-"

Childe took your hand in his, stroking the back of your hand slowly. "I believe you. Go on.” He said, followed by a faint smile across his face.

For reasons unknown to you, your shoulders feel light, and the breath you didn't realize you were holding is let out before you take a new one. The eyes under the curled eyelashes stare at you patiently, waiting for you to say it.

You breathed out a name.

In his study, Childe sat silently in his chair. He seemed to be in deep thought that he didn't give a single glance at Dmitri and Ekaterina who had entered earlier.

Duke Maxim. He remembers how that name left your lips.

His hands clenched so tightly that they turned pale. How dare he try to plot to harm a member of the royal family. How dare he lay his hands on you and make him almost lose you. Childe locked his jaw. There had never been a stronger desire to find Maxim and have him and the other aristocracy involved in his schemes immediately executed.

If it wasn't for you saying you had a plan to expose him, that man would undoubtedly be no better than a corpse, dying in the most agonizing way. But Childe believes you—he believes you know what you're doing.

“Ahem, Your Highness.”

Childe finally raised his head, looking at Dmitri and Ekaterina. He scanned his two confidants, found a document held tightly by the woman and made him raise an eyebrow. The look he gave Dmitri was enough to tell him to quickly tell the contents.

Dmitri nodded in understanding, Ekaterina handed the document over to Childe. As he watched the Prince begin turning over the paper to read, Dmitri opened his mouth to say: "It's about the antidote herbs that entirely burnt down suspiciously." He started. “When learning that the type of poison that had rendered Her Highness unconscious was the same as the one consumed by the late king, the researchers and I immediately looked for herbs that were commonly traded to the Liyue as the antidote to the poison.”

"But, when I went to the village to retrieve it, something was wrong." Dmitri paused and Childe stopped on a section of the page. "Surprisingly, the entire field where the plant was grown was burnt to the ground."

One of the ginger haired eyebrows raised in question. Childe didn't say another word before he flipped the paper again and found the name of the village.

Klirinsk village.

"The village of Klirinsk is a territory under the authority of Krykiye." Dmitri continued, receiving a stare from Childe's blue eyes.

Ekaterina furrowed her brows. "In history, there has never been a case of burning land unless it was intentional." She combined two with two before opening her mouth again with shock etched into her features. “Duke Maxim is the Duke of Krykiye.”

As if the hatred for the man wasn't enough to fill every vein of his blood, Childe gritted his teeth and closed the document. He played out some cruel scenarios that he wanted to do to him. The only way for Maxim to atone for his crimes for planning this all so thoroughly is dying in the cruelest possible way.

Two questions came out of him, “Where is (Y/N)? The knight I assigned is protecting her, right? Make sure she's safe."

Dmitri nodded. "Her Highness is meeting Prince Shiva in town."

The Prince's handsome face crumpled into an expression of distaste. Nonetheless, he remained silent about it. Childe stood up from his seat and walked from the table to the large door. Before he turned the doorknob, he glanced over his shoulder to say another command.

"Until I give my next order, keep this information a secret."

Ekaterina and Dmitri both nodded at the same time.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Snezhnaya—in a bar that is almost isolated from the hustle and bustle of the capital to be precise—you sit on a rickety wooden chair while waiting for the person who will fill the chair in front of you to come. The guard Childe appointed to watch over you, whose name is Leonid, is standing next to you. Despite his stiff posture, he is clearly one of the best knights in the kingdom. Rumor has it that before becoming your bodyguard, he led one of Childe's strongest squads.

The wooden door swings open, capturing your attention and revealing Shiva arriving with his confidant. You turned to Leonid indicating to give the two of you some alone time.

“(Y/N).” Shiva calls you after the room is left with only you and him.

A thin smile you carved on his face. “You seem to really keep your word, brother.” You watch him sigh, walking over to the seat across from you.

“Is that the only thing you can say? After being unconscious because of what? Saving that man?” Displeasure was evident in his voice.

"Would you prefer me to be a widow then?"

Your brother snorted angrily. "I know that isn't your concern." He leans back, crossing his arms as he scans your face under his gaze. There was something he didn't like in it and it made him click his tongue. "Unlike the last time, this time, it seems like you really fell in love with him, huh?"

You raised the teacup in front of you and brought it to your lips rather than paying attention to what he said. "You will understand one day, brother." You said before taking a sip.

“About what?”

“About why I did it.” You said.

On Shiva’s face, the query was still visibly there. You chose to pretend you didn’t see it. To carry on the conversation, you set the tea on the table. “I know who’s behind all this.” Hearing that, Shiva furrowed his brows even more in confusion.

“What?”

“It was Duke Maxim.” You could tell he recognized the name right away from his changed expression. “Originally, he planned to aim for Prince Childe and put the blame on Liyue. Surely, you already know that they have had that objective ever since the King’s death.”

Shiva clenched his fists so firmly that the veins bulged. “I’m going to murder that son of a bitch.” His voice dangerous and low.

“Since it struck me, it should be enough to at least sway a few nobles opinions.” Your eyes looking straight at Shiva emphasizing the importance of your next point. “Brother, this is an opportunity to turn things around. I need your help to answer my questions.”

Your request is met with silence. Deep in thought, Shiva put his fist in front of his lips. You give him time. After he finds whatever it is, he looks back at you.

"How do you know all this?"

"I have my source." You say with a smirk at the corners of your lips.

Shiva sighed. "What do you want to know?" He moved in his sitting position.

You rest your hands on your thighs. “The poison that was smeared on the arrows is the same poison that he used on the late king. However, since their plan was to harm the Prince, it appears that they’ve made a slight change to this one; making it weaker than the one that killed the King.”

"'Silence',"—you saw Shiva's eyes widen—"the same poison you were planning to use on Lady Lumine back then, aren't I right?"

A nod is given to you.

"Tell me, brother. Why, of all the poisons you could buy, did you choose that?"

Shiva stared at you for a long time before replying, "That time I really wanted to kill that woman." he began. “I know many poisons that kill faster than that but, I'm trying to avoid suspicion. I don't want to put you in a dangerous situation, especially at your own tea party."

His fingers clung to the handle of a long-cold teacup. "'Silence' is the best option, or at least it won't look so suspicious since the effect won't begin to set in for a few minutes after consumption." He finished and something clicked in both of your brains.

“Shivas.” You signal him.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

It's just like back then you were kids, when the two of you were playing puzzles or just reading books in the imperial library. Whenever Shiva realizes something, so will you. The connection between siblings will never be lost, you suppose.

“I clearly remember the King coughing a second after drinking the tea, which means he had consumed it before meeting us.” You said.

“That Duke brought him wine that day.” Shiva set down his teacup, straightened his crossed legs before getting up from the seat and smoothing his suit. "There you go, you now have your answer, dearest sister." His grin causes you to arch your brow.

You stand up and ask, "Are you going somewhere?"

"Of course, I'm a busy man."

Your eyebrows are raised in curiosity. Your lips curl in a teasing smile before you say, "My, my, could it be that my brother has found someone?" You hear a chuckle from him.

"Curious, sister?" Shiva turns to you. He took the opportunity to scan you up and down as if confirming something. "I must say, for someone who has consumed that poison twice, you look fine."

"Perhaps my body developed immunity to it after the first time." You rush to compose a lie. There's no way you can say you survived because Childe kneeled at the Divine Tree.

Fortunately, Shiva bought it. He took one glance while adjusting the hood of your robe. "After I kill Maxim, your husband is next for not allowing me to see you when you were unconscious." You can't help but laugh at his words.

"Have you never done the same?"

This time he laughed. "I'm still going to do it." As he said this, he turned around and headed for the wooden door behind him.

You were about to wave your hand when Shiva stopped to say: “Ah, although your words are strong enough to be used as evidence, it will take more to convince the Snezhnayan nobles.” He then continued, "Look for the late king's confidant and bring him along. I bet he at least remembers a thing or two about that day.”

The door opened, allowing Shiva to step out and Leonid back inside. You take a deep breath.

“Leonid?”

"Yes, Your Highness." He nodded his head greeting you.

Taking a breath, you then said: "Let's go somewhere."

First, a huge, huge, huuuuge thank you to those who have donated thus far.

That money has gone to keeping me and my two cats alive and getting a few of the payments on things to keep us afloat. (Examples of those are cat food, cat litter, payment to my self account which is a credit builder to help build my credit, credit card payment, phone bill, and at times, groceries when I've run out of SNAP benefits. Also at times things of necessity such as medicines (I have allergies and get migraines as well as my mental health medicine} have been covered.)

The thing is, I keep needing to post these to get more to help cover those while I'm getting settled in my new job. As you all had read, I had lost my job but was able to get a job close to home where I actually enjoy the people and don't mind the work I'm doing—it's not messing with my mental health like the last one. But I need to find another job since it does not pay enough. Most likely I'll get a second job to help and work two jobs instead of just one.

My car is needing to get fixed in order to make that happen though. So the amount you see on my GoFundMe (the remaining) is credit at 3k but I'm working on getting it raised to 5k.

I don't expect the full 5k, of course. Believe me, I know we are all struggling right now, but if I can get close to that or get that completely, so much would be solved. So much. My car, for one, would be covered and right now my friend is the one covering it and she's already helped me out so much that I really don't want to keep having her be the one to help me. She's amazing and I feel horrible (though she has assured me she wouldn't help if she didn't want to or feel comfortable doing so). But I really just want to be able to get to a place where I'm no longer dependent on her help and can instead be in a position where I can start paying her back for her generosity.

I know none of this is any of your problem but I still wanna remain transparent on where I'm at right now and to let you guys know that I really just want to get to a place where I can be helpful to others and start paying the generosity that you have all shown me to others.

If you are able to all just donate 5 dollars, we could get this done in a couple days. If you're able to donate more, great. If you really don't care or you have your own struggles, obviously, PLEASE don't donate and take care of you and yours. But if you do have the extra and don't mind helping, but are concerned where your money is gonna go, reach out to me. I don't mind. Believe me, I know how much crap and uncertainty there is in the world and I don't want to perpetuate that.

I'm just trying to get to a place where I'm stable so I can then give my best out in the world and work to help others which is my passion.
