Lando Norris (McLaren) - Pizza Delivery

Y/n sat reading through her notes in her parent's house. She had a big exam coming up soon and she had been doing nothing but studying and she was sating with her parents due to her learning being online now. "Y/n? We'll be back soon. We're just going to the shops." Your mother announced. "And we'll be back if I'm lucky." your dad muttered earning a glare from your mother. "That's fine. See you later then." She replied not even turning her head from her book. "Don't forget to eat darling. You haven't even left that seat." Y/n just blocked the noise out and continued on studying by herself. It had been a good hour or so when she was torn from her thoughts by the doorbell ringing. She let out a loud groan and walked towards the door to open it, only to be confronted by a pizza delivery guy. She looked down confused and realised he probably messed up the addresses. "Oh, I didn't order a pizza."she said politely. "For Lando Norris, he doesn't live here?" the delivery guys asked. Y/n shook her head. "Nope." she said popping the 'p'. "Well I have to leave it somewhere." He said handing it over. "Fine, that's fine. I'll just...ask around for where this Lando guys lives then." she said. "Thanks miss."
Y/n called their neighbour and asked who Lando was. She was given a few suggestive answers, almost as if she knew who this Lando person was but she shrugged it off. She had to get back to studying quickly, no time to waste. She eventually found out it was the guy to their left so she grabbed a jumper and put it on before walking out to go to the mystery person's house. She knocked on the door a few times and waited patiently for him to answer. He seemed to be taking a long time but he eventually answered. "Oh hi there." A brunette boy said opening the door. She practically swooped, even though she didn't entirely know in that moment. His green eyes were gorgeous, that much she figured. "Oh hi. I'm your neighbour to your right and well your pizza was delivered to my house by mistake." she explained trying to keep the stuttering to a minimum. Lando watched her, taking in all her features. She was quite pretty and she seemed like a very nice girl but he'd never met her before, never even seen her around. Maybe she was new.
"But anyway, I guess I'll be off. Enjoy your pizza." Y/n smiled before turning around to leave, only to be called back by Lando. "Wait, I can't possibly eat this whole pizza by myself. How about you come in and maybe have a slice yourself?" She had to study but before she realised what she was doing, she nodded her head and accepted the offer. She sat down and the pair started talking for ages, both had forgotten whatever plans they once had and the time for that matter. She looked around and saw multtiplee different helmets and then came the conversation about him being a driver. "It must be so cool going around to all these different places and just driving." She smiled. "It's amazing, I really love doing it." he replied. "What about you? What do you do?"
"You're a racing driver, I'm sure you have a lot more interesting things to talk about than asking what I do." she chuckled. "Yeah but, I'd like to get to know my neighbour a bit better." Her heart fluttered. What.the.fuck. What a gentleman! "Oh well, I study physiotherapy in-" she felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. Without even looking at the ID, she picked it up. "Hello?" she chirped. "Y/n! Where are you?! We're worried sick!" She realised she was meant to be at home, she was meant to be studying. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I'll be back, I just went for a walk." She hung up and quickly stood up. "I'm so sorry to cut this short but I have ton get home. It was lovely meeting you though." Lando stood up and walked her to the door. "Yeah, dont worry about it." he said opening it for her. "Maybe we could continue our conversation some other time." she said. "I'd love to, just call around anytime after four. I'll probably be at home by then." Y/n and nodded. "Will do. See you around Lando!" she said walking away. "See ya!"
Once she got out of his driveway, she began sprinting back to her house, nearly falling multiple times too. She finally got to her house and basically crashed through the door. "I'm back!" she announced, trying to make it sound like she wasn't just out of breath. "Where the hell were you?" her mother asked taking her coat from her. "I just went for a walk down the street." she lied. Her mother gave her an unamused look. "What?" she asked confused. "Y/n, can a tree move by its own free will?" she shook her head. "Can it write?" she shook her head again. "Then I doubt a tree left you their phone number in your pocket." Her face went red as she saw a piece of paper come out of her pocket and in her mother's hand. She snatched and scrunched it up. "It's about time you tried to get a boyfriend though." She laughed walking away. "He's not my boyfriend! He's a neighbour!" she retaliated and let out a loud sigh. "Fuck sake." she muttered before opening up the piece of paper and smiling at thee message.

you woke up to spider shaking you softly, it was bright outside which was something you were not used to since you pretty much spent all your time in the lab
"y/n/n you're the last one up"
"holy shit what? why didn't you wake me up earlier?" you say with a groan
"baby we did or at least tried to, i was the last one to try"
Neteyam come in and starts laughing, you glare at him
"why the fuck are you laughing?"
"no it's just that lo'ak owes me and spider since he said there was no way spider could wake you up, but it looks like he did!" Neteyam says gleefully
you groan and try and lay back down but spider grabs you
"nuh uh y/n you gotta get up" he says as you continue to struggle against his grasp
"I'll leave her to you" neteyam says as he walks out
you continue to fight spider and eventually he gets annoyed so he just tosses you on his shoulder and starts to walk
"shit! spider! put me down!" you say trying to get off
"no chance y/n/n you needed to get up and if i didn't do that you would've gone back to sleep"
after marching you out to where everyone was he finally put you down
"good morning y/n!" tuk says giving you a hug
"morning tuk" you hug her back
"why was spider carrying you?" Lo'ak blurted out and as expected everyone was staring at him
"uh cause she wasn't going to get up and come out if i didn't" spider says looking at Lo'ak strangely
"why can't he do that hm? you jealous?" kiri says joining in on the conversation
"what no why would i be" Lo'ak says bitterly
spider knew full well that lo'ak had a crush on you and was going to do everything in his power to make sure that you were not going to end up with him
"alright kids settle down" jake says coming over to you guys
"but things just got so interesting" neteyam says with a pout
you all laugh not realizing the Lo’ak was evidently pissed at all of yall
jake tells everyone that some of yall can go fishing with him, Neytiri, and tuk or go exploring
You all decided that you were just going to go exploring since in all honesty no one wanted to go fishing
as you guys started exploring, you noticed lo'ak kind of lingering behind the group
you decide to hang back and talk to him
"hey lo'ak you good?"
he looks at you like a deer in headlights, shocked that you decided to talk to him
it seemed that the whole time or even whenever you were allowed out the lab spider was always all over you, giving him barely anytime with you and obviously making him jealous. the worst part? you never even tried to stop spider which made lo'ak mad
"yeah im good, why whats up?" he said looking down at you
"nothing you just look pale and upset"
"yeah little bro you should go back to camp, you look like you're gonna faint or something" neteyam says looking back at the two of you
"alright i guess I'll go…" Lo'ak says turning around
"i can go with him" you say looking at the group "y'know to make sure he doesn't get lost or anything"
"thanks y/n" Lo'ak says looking at you and starting to walk, you folkowing behind
Kiri and Neteyam turn to spider whose eyes are narrowed and looks mad
"Dude you good?" Neteyam says looking at spider
"Yeah…no… i dont know" spider says sitting down
"Spider you like y/n its so obvious that its kinda vomit worthy" kiri says kneeling next to spider
"Yeah you get jealous whenever she's with or talking to lo'ak" neteyam adds
"i dont get jealous!" spider says looking at the two
"sure keep telling yourself that" kiri says laughing, "but seriously you need to ask her out before lo'ak does"
"we love our lil bro but honestly he's not gonna be good with y/n" neteyam adds
"i know i do i just dont know if i can do it…like what if she rejects me? thats gonna be awkward" spider says

based on your reactions to aa2, especially how you enjoy that the cases more relate to and help develop pre-existing characters, I’m INCREDIBLY excited to see you play aa3. it’s a fantastic game and I’m happy for you to experience it yknow!!!!!
i'm really excited too! i don't have any idea what to expect, so i'm kind of scared, but it seems like a lot of people are excited for me to play it, so i'm sure i'll have a good time!
aa2 very much had its good and bad moments; 2 really good cases kind of bracketing a pretty... lackluster one, and especially because it started off with a silly scenario for the tutorial case it had this down-up-down-up timeline to it in terms of how serious i took it. (not to say that in a bad way, i still had fun! ...mostly) however both 2-2 and 2-4, as well as That One Specific moment in 2-3 were very strong points and definitely gave me a lot to think about. overall, i had a really good experience.
like you said in the ask, i really noticed the character development in everyone since aa1, and that's one of my favorite things about this game. observing brand new dynamics between characters we just met and even characters we already knew created a really interesting and wonderful narrative. just as an example, my friends have already heard my rant about how the reason we were able to succeed the final trial of 2-4 was because edgeworth was the prosecutor; if it was anyone else, phoenix would not have been able to stall it long enough, i think. they've established that they worked well together in 1-3 and 1-5, but we don't know if it's possible again, because this time there was another new layer added to it that tested that dynamic, being that edgeworth was gone for a year and phoenix's resentment towards him for it. so having that test of separation and meeting again almost as strangers shakes their ability to work together at first, but they eventually still find that the trust they had in each other held strong and were able to re-establish that dynamic from the first game, but with... more. i have more thoughts on that and the whole case itself, but i dont want to talk too long because i have a lot, so i'll save it for another time...
i may have talked about it before, this series has a lot of emphasis on family and it's importance, how other people regard it, and how far they'll go for those they consider family, whether it's good or bad. it was very present in the first game, but the major cases of this game really emphasized that idea also. (morgan trying to project her desires through pearl, mimi using ini as an escape, acro trying to get revenge for his brother, franziska and edgeworth and how she views him as someone she has to chase after <- airport conversation made me cry and cry so much btw, and this one is kind of projecting but phoenix and pearl doing everything they can to save maya). it's really important and i think it's good.
the line between selfishness and self-preservation is a thin one to walk on.

its like. uh. this person i know whos sooo articulate and smart and. theyre really sweet. yknow BASIC SHIT. theyre great everyone likes them.
anyways when we first started talking it was like. some kinda. there was clashing. i guess is how you could put it? but every time we finished talking i felt soo like. electrified. like buzzing. like my whole body was just shaking. adrenaline? maybe?
i really thought at first that it was just a friendly interest. some sort of.. y'know intellectual thing! you meet someone whos so much smarter than you and whos ideas are so well put together and who thinks YOU'RE interesting and of course you want to know more of how their brain works of course youre. captivated a bit yknow? thats like. normal. to feel. i think.
oh the first couple times we talked i went so nuts! i reread over our convos like a thousand times and reiterated our talks several times to EVERYONE in my house. its so actually embarrassing. but they were good convos you HAAAVE to understand. it was like. ducking weaving. it was like. some sort of mental exercise . and i thought it was like. normal. but it just kept. HAPPENING. AND HAPPENING. AND HAPPENING.
and i tell you what this was a lot easier a month or so ago when i was like I JUST REALLY LIKE TALKING TO THIS PERSON!! ^_^ (<- STILL A DEFINITE POSSIBILITY) cause ugh. lately its like. ever since the thought popped in my head that this interest MIIIGHT be romantic in nature its. ALLLL DAY thinking about them its so nuts! its so constant!! its literally like a fucking DISEASE... i feel like. angry over it? spiteful? almost? it reminds me of when i had a crush on a guy in elementary school and I didnt know how to handle it so i beat the hell out of him with a lunch box.
like im over here forgetting shit left and right and messing up basic conversation skills and having heart palpitations and theyre like. fine probably. iiii honestly dont think they even think about me lol. i mean definitely not as much as i am,easy, because im totally insane and obsessive i know this.
we also dont talk so much! its not very often! so yeah im sure they dont think about me as much. im even definitely sure if i ever verbalized this it wouldnt work out. ive visualized them turning me down like 20 different ways for 20 different reasons just today. lots of reasons yknow! im mentally unwell and totally nuts, im immature and also very ugly im unable to carry out a meaningful relationship because of my chronic pain problems and various health issues, all of that is fine but my obsessive nature is really freaky,LD relationships are a no-go, they just dont like me that way, ect ect ect.
its sooo stupid. its SO middle school. they type a response to me and i can barely look at the screen. i feel SO fucking stupid its insane. im like. going to claw my eyes out of my head and chew on them till they burst. i hate it here. and its never going to be reciprocated whatsoever so im literally not even going to try.
BESIDES Y'KNOW!! I DONT EVEN KNOW FOR SURE IF THATS WHAT IM FEELING!! its been wracking my brain for a week straight!! its like. am i just fascinated on an intellectual level, am i just interested in an anthropological sense, are these just really good conversations, if this just normal friendship and im making things super weird? am i just excited that someone seems to get what im saying about what im interested in? yknow. dumb.
either way TLDR; im waiting for it to pass. either I'll sort my own feelings out or itll pass! if its infatuation, GOOD, that has a expiration date of 1-2 years so i will just box it up and not think about it and not do anything about it. ^_^ )9 and it WILL die. BUT if you know how to force that process to go along faster let me KNOW.

hey I read the homestuck epilogues and this is the situation: in one timeline dave and karkat get together, the end.
In the other while they're still doing their will they won't they jade says that the three of them should just date each other her and dave in red-rom and her and karkat in black-rom. (and if i remember right she insinuates they they could date each other too) but they really don't have a solid conversation about the whole thing and just kinda go along with it. The three of them date for a bit before all the hs kids have a big fight about growing anti-troll politics and fascism of the government karkat gets (rightly) heated and isn't really supported so he leaves and stops talking to the other two (also starts a rebellion) so dave and jade keep dating to the point where they get married, years go by. After everything's settled a bit jade and dave join karkats rebellion, but its pretty insinuated they never talk about EVERYTHING UP THERE, and just agree politically. At a certian point after this dave has a conversation with (bc it's homestuck) Obama about everything and says that he's gay and overall is pretty miserable about the whole situation. (there's more but its a bit heavy)
since I'm on anon, I'll say, I think that there are some pretty interesting things in the epilogues (like reading bad end fic) and I think that having two timelines where things go differently and parallel is interesting, but there are a few characters like Jade (and dirk tbh), who I feel are only given one story, only one end defined mostly by their lowest. Jade is lonely and has been since the beginning of the comic, she truly seems to think that making herself part of the equation will stop dave and karkat from dancing around each other and make each of them happy. If she can do that and make herself not alone anymore then great. I don't think that it's completely out of character for one timeline, but in the other she gets put in a coma pretty much immediately, removing the opportunity for her to have a "good" end (pesterquest is actually incredible though full recommendation). I don't know, I don't think that it's completely out of character, but overall the story doesn't do jade justice: showing her at her best and not only her worst it's probably the theme that they're trying to embody with her but even then it would need to be more directly confronted.
sorry for hs dumping, the epilogues and their reaction I won't say are good... but they are fascinating

its ok u dont need to apologize. idk i said it before i never finished the comic, but i also didnt like anything i saw about the epilogues or homestuck 2 so might judgement is biased on what i knew about them from up to where i stopped reading, like 3 years ago. i have a bad memory and might've forgotten stuff about jade that would make that decision in character? i'll say there's a difference between an under negotiated polycule and a forced polycule. and my issue w the other ask was the implication that jade forced karkat and dave to be in a polycule with her. if that's true it feels ooc for me but maybe its not, idk, maybe if i had finished the main story i would agree.
anyway this polycule gets less exciting (to me) the more i learn about it :(

i'm a teenager, and i have no actual irl friends. sure, i hang out with some people at my school, but i never feel like i fit in, be it bc im queer or bc they just seem to not care about me. i'm also like, not exactly the weird kid, but to give you an idea i stumble over my words a lot and am very Very socially awkward. i have 2 very good online friends and i love them a lot, but they just don't help with how lonely i feel all the time (and theres also two other people from my school that i'd love to befriend but they both have their own best friends and dont really interact with me). only feeling comfortable around my homophobic mom feels humiliating–i cant be myself or feel safe around my classmates, because im worried they'll somehow think i'm annoying. this shit was like, the root of a major depressive episode i had last year, and even though ive completely recovered now, im still scared i'll end up knee deep in shit again. girl help
Hey there,
It can be really difficult when we want to be friends with another but then for one reason or another it just doesn’t work out or we feel we are on the outside of the relationship with them due to them having other good friends. Have you mentioned that you wanted to be friends with them though even if it’s more someone to hang out with. Even though one person may have a best friend/s, it doesn’t mean they can’t have other friends too.
You mentioned that you don’t really feel safe with your classmates as you fear they will view you as being annoying or something like that. Whilst this is a completely valid concern to have, if you don’t try to interact with others then you will never know how it may go, you may even make a friend or two out of it! Start slow though, get to know them, likes/ dislikes, if you have anything in common. If you have to do a project with other class mates then try to take an interest in what they say, try to start a conversation with them – it can be a lot easier to focus on becoming friends with just one person as opposed to a handful of people all at once!
I know it can be so hard when you feel like you are socially awkward, and you stumbling over your own words wouldn’t help your self-esteem either, but it doesn’t mean that these things cannot be helped over time and worked through. For example, have you ever thought about looking at yourself through a mirror and practice having conversations and focusing on your words and speech in general. Sometimes when we stumble over words (I use to be the same and especially when I was feeling incredibly anxious) it can be due to anxiety like I just mentioned and a good way to work on that is to try to slow your talking down and especially if you are a fast talker. So when in a conversation don’t forget to breathe and focus on where full stops or commas should be put in just like as if you were writing something down on paper.

About Asra. Any activity can start a nice, comfortable and de-stressing day with Asra. If I'm the one getting a little overwhelmed, he'll gently hold my hands to see if I'm open to touch at the moment and ask if I want to talk about it. His presence and his tea making skills are all I could ask for, but his voice and his words and perhaps a little joke here and there... He will also offer to do a tarot reading and have a non judgemental conversation. If im not mentally tired because of the stress, he'll take me out to somewhere new, but if I am he'll still suggest taking a nap in a realm where it'll only be us and nature. When he's the one feeling stressed, I bring him something he likes and ask him if there's something I can help him with. I dont mind what it is, I would read him some pages if he's too tired to do so but needs it for research, help him organise stuff or even do some planning in case he needs it or it helps him see things from another perspective and feel less weight on his shoulders. After some talking, I'd suggest to cuddle for a bit and he always loves the idea<3 I'll still be doing little things to take extra care of him during the next day, like taking him out to eat to his favorite place and kiss his forehead when he has to work again on whatever is causing him that stress. If we're both needing to destress at the same time, we can even just lay down together to recharge for a bit and then do any of the activities I mentioned before

About Mammon. He's actually so considerate and kind, always taking others into account and even putting them before himself and his needs even though he's the avatar of Greed. He has a heart of gold and loves everyone deeply, although he may not be the best at showing this, but I am very wary of details so I can't help but notice how he tries to be a cool example for Luke, how he's the first one to step up when his brothers need someone's help and how his words dont tend to reflect his actions but both are cute nonetheless. For him... I guess it could be my actitude? at first, it went unnoticed for him because I can be very quiet when there's not much trust between us, but he's the brother i would be spending most time with so it was only a matter of time for me to naturally become a bit more of a talker, and even an excited one when he accepted to listen to me about something that interests me a lot and even seemed to enjoy the conversation. After that? I would love if he's always trying to make me smile and get me all hyped up about something because he loves how happy I look like and talk in those moments, which also make him feel like expressing himself. It's all about feeling free and cared for <3

Also my headcanon is that he always makes tea somehow too hot and everyone has to wait for a kinda long time with the tea already poured into their teacups because that's still b o i l i n g. Continuing with the poison interest, there's the thought that he could have had to learn about the topic from a very young age because of his circumstances, but also the option of him learning about it out of curiosity and fun because he's built like that ig. It started as a joke to intimidate other classes but now he has books about it and different poisons and its specific uses throughout history and Raphael is gifting him any new ones his parents get

“You’re a mess,” Shouko explains, throwing a packet of cigarettes in her work purse; she has a nicer one that she brings out shopping and to cafés, he knows, that Utahime bought for her when they first started dating. The one she has for work is heavily worn and a dull brown; she’s had it since high school and they both pretend to forget where she’d gotten it from. “I don’t trust you by yourself and I don’t think you want to worry your kids, so you’re coming home with me.”
“I’m fine, Shouko,” he tries to protest, but she shoots him a sternly unimpressed glare and walks back over to get in his face.
“No you’re fucking not, don’t even try that right now. It won’t work. Besides…” she straightens up and turns away from him, tugging her bag’s strap up her shoulder. “You’re not the only one who needs some company tonight.”
okay on top of the brainrot writing this sparked in me my favorite favorite thing to write is characters with differing goals and they have very differing goals. i like when a character has already made a decision and i like writing characters disagreeing a bit. i just loveee when i get to write different motivations and i love them i love this convo and i like writing shouko mhm

uhhh thats difficult lol but like i know i lean pretty hard into being very descriptive and i like a lottt of metaphors and imagery, but my main goal is always to get my mental picture across as much as i can, so i guess thats why. i like to keep dialogue on the sparser side, though. most of the time people dont monologue, so i try not to let the characters do it and i spent a lot of time rlly figuring out how ppl naturally speak so that i could do that ljsfdhb <33

ELEVENTH CHAPTER: Yoonjae and Jungwon
Yoonjae walked beside you almost leading the way as though he knew exactly where you lived. You were silent, worried about Jungwon and what would you even talk about with Yoonjae right now? Until he initiated a conversation.
"I'm sorry Y/N, I didnt mean to hurt you before. Hopefully the scratch didnt hurt much" he stopped to look at you, he seemed genuinely sorry. You instantly forgave him, "Its alright, but may I ask why did you fight Jungwon even though you are friends?" You wanted to know, you wanted to know why he went through all that just to be friends and why was he so happy when they settled everything with a thumb fight.
"Oh that's actually a long story. Me and Jungwon, we've been friends since forever, ever since we were newborns. That time his parents were always home so my parents would leave me at Jungwon's. It was as if it was my own home. We were like brothers, playing together, eating together, training together, we even got our first grade certificate together. We, we were best friends."
Yoonjae took a pause after saying all that. They must've been really close, but the story didn't make sense to you just yet.
He continued, looking at you with a smile, "Now I may sound childish here, but I'll go on." You gave him a comforting smile, looking at him as if you were eager to know and were interested.
"Me and Jungwon always trained together, did almost everything together but somehow he was always better than me. It didnt bother me at all to be honest until everyone started calling me out for it."
Closing his eyes Yoonjae took a deep breath and suddenly a memory flashed and you could see it. Yoonjae was using his powers to show you his memory. The memory consisted of a bunch of people either gossiping amongst each other looking at Yoonjae as if he was an embarrassment, who you could see from your perspective, or some people talking to him directly.
'I cant believe that this guy trains with Jungwon, like the difference gosh.'
'Yoonjae dear, what grade are you? Oh lower than Jungwon. But dont you both train together?'
'Maybe he just doesn't have talent.'
'I don't even know why Jungwon hangs out with a low grade like him.'
It was painful. Everything they said definitely must've hurt. After the memory was over Yoonjae opened his eyes and left the breath he had held during this whole time. You looked at him with a sad expression. You wanted him to know you were sorry for him but not like you were pitying him. He pressed his lips in a straight line and then continued talking.
"I was annoyed and I wanted everything to stop. I didnt want to feel any hatred or jealousy against my best friend but I couldnt even help it. I held it all in and tried training harder copying Jungwon's footsteps but, nothing helped, he succeeded even more. It was a huge gap for me to cover. After all that Jungwon told me about how he didnt like his vampire life, he wanted a group of human friends, a family that wouldn't talk about blood and eating shit all the time, a family that wouldn't pressurize him for doing something he didnt want to. Jungwon, he didnt want to fight, noone, and that frustrated me. I was trying to be someone who didnt even want to be that someone. So I told that to his parents, which I regret so much. Soon his relationship with his parents worsened and it was as if I was against him too. He stopped talking to me not because he was mad but he now felt like an embarrassment. His parents were too harsh on him and I didnt do anything. I hated it, hated seeing him like that but it seemed like he forgot all about the time when we were friends, everything we did, our handshake, how we settled a fight by playing thumbfight, our jokes, everything. I was so angry I didnt realise how he was being treated at home and wanted to show him that I was better. Following him around with my so-called friends just to make him fight. I couldn't believe the fact that he forgot about us until that day when he initiated the thumbfight to settle everything. He remembered, no he never forgot. And since then I have decided to always be by his side, no matter who's in front."
You both stopped walking and turned around to look at each other. You smiled at him, the story was so heart-touching. You placed your hand on his shoulder and said, "you're a good friend." He gave you a huge smile.
"Well my house is just down the lane. Thank you for walking me home. I'll see you soon and please take care of Jungwon." Saying that you waved at Yoonjae who nodded at you. "Wait Y/N! Stop no!" He yelled, rushing towards you.
"Well, well, well look do we have here. Yoonjae how could you get such a pretty girl? What's your name honey?" Asked a tall figure coming out of the shadows. It was a tall boy with black hair and his hands in his pockets. He walked over to you as you moved back towards Yoonjae.
"Why are you here Rakah?"

Burning some time before entrepeneur class
i found a video of a mall that used to have roller skating employees
and i thought hey maybe i could send this to her and through shaking fingers i did and she actually liked it, and from there i got a bit more of conversation, she had to enter the country to activate her visa which is weird and she's still looking for an apartment and apparently is having one built thats gonna be finished in september.
But yeah anyway, she seems to be into the conversation, she doesnt seem to be annoyed by it so i guess maybe she doesnt text first because she's too busy to think of me or she doesnt like to start or something.. idk. But while i was talking to her i started talking to another dom and we were about to have a call but i told her to wait a sec cause i had to shit (didnt say the shit part) and when i came back she was gone, ups. But yeah still felt guilty to be texting both at the same time, i dont know why the fuck i think i'm being infidel to her when we dont have any sort of relationship, were acquantances at best but i still feel like i shouldn't talk to other people even though she doesn't talk to me either, i dunno brains are weird, i don't want to disrespect m'lady who'd rather not have to talk to me if possible, maybe she will find an apartment maybe i have to wait til september to get to talk to her, maybe one day the conversation dies for too long and she'll forget about me or just ghost my messages, guess i should try to avoid that but i also suck at starting conversations, not gonna just send her every skating video i see but i also dont know her other interests to know what to talk to her about, i just hope she finally gets an apartment and finally runs out of reasons to tell me to fuck off, and i dont even know if this "relationship" could be sustainable if we do get together, or you know she's building a T3 so maybe i'll be her pet confined in one of her rooms, we'll see moving in with her might be too big of an ask but its also not outside the realm of possibilites if we do in fact get something going but i guess thats too many "what if's" to be thinking seriously about. as usual its back to playing my favourite game, be patient and hope for the best.
But yeah maybe that other dom that wanted to milk me will get back to me tonight, or maybe D will see one of the papers i told her i collect and show it to me.. you know what thats not a bad conversation starter i should save that somewhere and use it in like a week or something, let's hope i can wait that long, let's hope i can also find some other conversation starters

i'm an intp 5w6 and a sagittarius. i try to come off as a laid-back and chill person, but ultimately i always end up being really hyper and Loud especially when i'm with my friends,, despite being all talkative most of the time i'm actually not very good at social situations. a lot of people get surprised when i say im an introvert and not an extrovert AHSJJDFHSHD. but the truth is i'm Super awkward when i'm with people i dont know very well, and honestly i'm not one start a conversation. i get overwhelmed easily when theres too many people around, and i generally feel more comfortable being alone.
i have super super low self esteem. to the point where i even feel guilty or uncomfortable taking compliments? i don't know where this stemmed from or why im like that, but its just how it is
my interests include writing and drawing, mostly!! i love making stories and reading them as well (though im a very heavy procrastinator, i also often start new projects while leaving my previous ones hanging) ^^ i'm a bit hesitant to show anyone my work, just bc of the fear of being made fun of or criticized hehe... yeah i don't do well with criticism. i also enjoy any sort of media in the psychological thriller genre, i find em very intriguing :0!! i also Love taking pictures. whenever im with my friends i feel the need to take a photo or a video of them in like 40 different angles its actually concerning /lh

I saw your description and Fischl quickly came to mind. I mean, she seems really hyper and talkative but she’s actually an introvert and likes her alone time with her books. and yeah, she loves writing stories and reading them! and she isn’t the biggest fan of conflict either, I think.
Chiaki Nanami
From the array of characters from the 2 games I've played so far, you remind me of Chiaki a bunch. She's awkward with new people, doesn't start conversations, tries to appear chill, finds comfort in being alone, is a procrastinator and absolutely hates conflict!
Notes: Perhaps there's a character in the other danganronpa games that resembles you better than her. Maybe Rantaro idk. I haven't finished drv3 yet, so take this with a grain of salt.
Yuyuko Tanaka
I hope you don't mind me assigning you a character that's exclusively from the game/ stage plays. I think Yuyuko would be a good match. She's awkward with new people (and in social interactions in general), but she gets rather enthusiastic when talking with her friends. She also doesn't deal well with criticism, to the point of not really showing her emotions and interests to others out of fear of being made fun of. And did I mention she's a big procrastinator? And the disliking for conflict is also there!
Notes: If I were to assign you somebody from Seisho (aka. from the anime itself), I'd go for Hikari, since she is no good with social interactions and is only a bit hyper when talking with her closest friends.
Mizuki Akiyama
I think I'll go with Mizuki here. They're pretty hyper when with the rest of niigo and are talkative most of the time, yet they still come off as chill and laid back. Their self esteem is pretty low too and they desire to be able to be themselves without others making fun of them. Plus, they tend to try to resolve conflict as quick as possible when it appears, so I'd say they don't like it either.

Meta: Echo’s Big Fight in 3x09
Let's talk about the Big Echo fight. Because wandering around in the fandom this past week, I’ve seen a lot of very specific conclusions as far as what they were or weren't arguing about, and I’m not sure my take on that scene really aligns with other folks. So let me try to break it down a bit and give y’all an alternative perspective on it.
To start with, the scene opens with Max on edge because they're breaking and entering. Liz is singularly focused on the mission, and he's kinda freaking out. Instead of responding to his concerns, Liz gets straight to business.
"Ooh, ooh, this is interesting. Heath left Genoryx two days after I did. Must have realized he didn't need to be working underneath their corporate thumb."
Liz is kinda projecting here. Heath never once displayed any discomfort with Genoryx as a company the way that she did. He wanted her to stay. He wanted the resources there. We know these things as an audience, and Liz would too if she was thinking through the big picture at this point in time.
Max, on the other hand, doesn't know any of that. Here's what Max hears from Liz: he hears surprise. He hears Liz acknowledge that this is unexpected news. And right as he’s processing this unexpected reveal...Max sees Heath's Wild Pony t-shirt.
Weird coincidence #1 from Max's POV was Heath (the guy who is currently so pissed at Liz that he won't take her calls) supposedly rescuing Liz's science out of the good of his heart so that Genoryx doesn’t get their hands on it? This doesn't add up.
Weird coincidence #2 was Heath quitting Genoryx - a decision Heath made that Liz wasn't expecting.
The Wild Pony t-shirt is now the 3rd thing that doesn't add up. And if the t-shirt clue isn't adding up for you, see my post about it here:
The T-shirt is strike 3 for Max. He can't really pretend that he's not suspicious of Heath anymore. So he broaches the subject with her.
"How much do you know about this guy, Heath? How close were you?"
Max is feeling uncomfortable and looking for more information. He's trying to make the clue make sense. Why would Heath have the T-shirt? Does he have a connection to Roswell that Liz doesn't know about? And Liz doesn’t listen.
"This isn't the time to be jealous about a boy I met."
For all that Liz is clinical and on mission, she jumps very quickly to assuming that Max is NOT on mission. Yes, Max is inherently more emotional than she is. But throughout the episode he's been asking questions about Heath and NOT JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS. That's one of the keys to me here. Max really is trying to give her the benefit of the doubt about him.
At Liz's house, he asked about "the boyfriend" but he wasn't doing it in a jealous or judgy way. If anything it could almost be interpreted as concern. He started with "were you happy" and only when Liz kind of metaphorically admitted that any happiness was a façade...that's when he brought Heath into it. And yeah, Liz says that he impacted her life and helped her grow, but she didn't exactly express romantic feelings that would make Max jealous. So when she basically jumped straight to the jealousy assumption instead of actually discussing this with him, he starts getting worked up. Because she is not hearing him. She is not acknowledging that the facts they have found during this investigation are not adding up. So he is honest and blunt about what he's thinking.
"I'm just saying it's possible that he took your one-of-a-kind alien spores and quit, so that, just like you, he could use the research himself, free of Genoryx."
Max is the one who brings the science into this conversation. Not Liz. And he's not criticizing or questioning HER application of the science. He's questioning the trustworthiness of Heath. Because the lies are starting to jump out at him like a friggin’ neon light.
BUT — now that he's specifically brought up the science, he has her attention. Because Max questioning her science is HER sore spot. So what does she say back to him? Something kinda judgy.
"That grand trust speech certainly had a short shelf life."
Side note: I really don't think there actually was a "grand trust speech" in this episode. I can think of a few scenes where there might have been an opportunity for one. In particular during the milkshake scene when he admits to saving her tapes. But they actually don't talk about trust in that scene. They talk about having hard conversations. They talk about moving forward instead of looking backwards. But they don't talk about trust. My guess is that there might have been content cut for time at some point in this episode, that may have included some grand declaration from Max, but that's really just speculation on my part.
Regardless…Liz's response to Max bringing up the science is to basically accuse him of not trusting her. Which is not what he was saying. He was not questioning her use of the science. He was questioning her trust in Heath through the context of her science. So he elaborates on what he IS saying, and as he does, he's getting more and more worked up...because this does relate directly to his personal fears, and, frankly, his buried trauma that he's never properly addressed.
"I trust you. Okay? But I don't trust some guy I have barely met with a secret that could endanger me, could endanger my family and break the frickin' Internet if it came out."
Max doesn't know Heath, and he doesn't trust Heath with a secret that could endanger Michael and Isobel. His emotions are escalating, because now he's thinking about the science that scares him in the hands of a guy that all signs points to being potentially untrustworthy, and he's triggered.
BUT he doesn't back up his argument. He doesn't point out the very specific evidence he's identified that Heath is probably lying to Liz.
And Liz is inherently reactive and sometimes overly defensive (see 1x09 list of Liz's flaws). So even though he's focused on Heath, she immediately reacts defensively and takes it as a criticism of HER.
"You think I would let myself be conned?"
"No, I think you came out here looking for a partner, and it could blind you."
*deep breath* and this is where it starts to get personal. And rough. Max isn't entirely wrong here. But he also kind of is. Liz didn't choose Genoryx for partnership. She was looking for resources, freedom to do the science she wanted to do, and to save her father from deportation.
But partnership? Yeah, Liz wanted that. But she wanted that from MAX. She was looking for partnership in life, not in science.
And now that Max has thrown that direct criticism out there, Liz is going to throw a bomb right back at him.
"Just because you sabotaged me when I thought you were mine does not mean that Heath would take the same path."
Ouch. This is the hardest line in this whole scene for me to work with. Because it is combative. And purposefully hurtful.
BUT…she is NOT TALKING ABOUT HER SCIENCE. She has not said a single word about her science in this argument. She moved past that. She had the epiphany that she was wrong and she apologized (3x03). That is in the past for her.
This argument, for Liz, is about betrayal. This is about her believing that they were going to be partners and move their lives forward together (2x12), and right when she believed in that future, Max made another massive decision that directly impacted her life (just like he did in 1x13) instead of working with her to make big decisions together.
"And just because you changed the wallpaper doesn't mean you've mended your blind spots."
I really hate this "change the wallpaper" line. It feels like they're mixing metaphors. Liz called her life a commercial. Max is saying that she's changed her decor. Like...pick one and stick with it.
That aside… I think this barb is about her arrogance. Earlier in the scene, she seemed baffled at the idea that Max believes she could have been conned by Heath, because Liz is used to always being the smartest person in the room. She thought she was smarter than Diego and he figured her out. She believed her lab was secure, but Diego (possibly) got in. Sometimes, like most scientists, Liz is so bogged down in the complicated, brilliant details she’s thinking through, that she misses simple things that contribute to the big picture. And I think that's what Max is getting at here. In her arrogance, she believes that she can control the Heath situation. But she's not acknowledging the human factor here - that Heath is a person who may have his own unspoken ulterior motives driving him. Just like Diego did. She's just not seeing what Max is seeing.
BUT - again I'll say. Max is also not communicating the scope of the evidence he is collecting. They're both wrong here.
"I have learned my lessons, but you... oh, my God, you sound an awful lot like the guy who blew up my lab. So forgive me, but you're making it perfectly clear why I felt like I had to go and change the wallpaper."
This is the only line where Liz even comes close to talking about her science, but again, she's talking about his betrayal. She's talking about him undermining their partnership. She's talking about her need for a change of scenery from HIM.
And that’s when Max blows out the safe and they put the fight on hold to finish their investigation.
But, to sum it up…the fight was all about trust and betrayal. It was necessary for them to work through it, though frankly? I wish they could have finished the discussion. Because instead of them coming to some sort of peace with their trust in each other, the truth came out about Heath, Liz realized that she was wrong, she apologized, and they moved forward together, on mission.
I can’t help pointing out though…after the fight and Liz's epiphany about Heath, Max and Liz spent at least 15 hours in a car together. And I'm sorry, I refuse to believe that they didn't talk about anything important for 15 hours. Fic writers assemble? 😆

"HOW COULD YOU DO THAT?! DONT YOU KNOW ITS FORBIDDEN TO CHANGE THE LIFESPAN?!" exclaimed Monoma as the lavender haired angel stayed silent in front of all the other angels of the heaven.
"I'm having a feeling that he might be being framed. So lets let him speak. We know Shinsou for centuries now", Izuku tried to stand by Shinsou being the innocent one. The meeting for angels was being held suddenly because Shinsou, the angel committed a sin. A sin of changing the lifespan of a mortal.
With all the angels surrounding him, he now stood before the head of the angels. The blond Angel looked at the latter and asked, "Shinsou, I'll be asking one last time. Tell me the truth. Did you meddle with the lifespan of a mortal?"
After being quiet for so long, Shinsou had to now speak for sure. He knew the consequences of his mistake. But he did it anyway. But he wasn't the one to lie. He looked at the Blond angel and said, "I did. I changed her life span". Everyone gasped at that reply from him.
All the angels thought that he was being framed but now that he himself confessed that he actually did it, they were speechless. Some even started to cry as what the punishment would be to him. He knew he’d be banished from Heaven. But still he couldn’t help but to save your life.
All might, the leader of angels asked Shinsou, "What was the reason?", to which the latter smiled and looked into the leader's eyes for the first time during this time and replied, "I fell in love".
Sitting at the bar stool at a local bar sipping on your beer as you watched your bestfriend dance with her boyfriend. She looked really happy. As you watched her, you couldn't help but to feel the little tingle in your heart. You wondered if you could ever be happy like that.
As you kept glancing at them your vision shifted to another man. He was exceptionally beautiful. The tall man with lavender hair stood beside you as he leaned back on the counter. Placing his elbows on the bar counter he turned towards the bartender and signaled for a beer. Your heart was racing as fast as it could because of the man beside you. You tried to not notice him but it wasn't easy. You were sure your cheeks were red as a tomato and your heartbeat was loud enough for the stranger to hear it. Your favorite song started to play in the club and you tried to shift your concentration to it.
"Its a nice song, isn't it?", he spoke suddenly making your heart jump inside your chest. His voice was deep and you almost shivered hearing it. You glanced at him to see if he was really talking to you or not. He was there looking at you from the corner of his eyes. Your cheeks heated up and you responded, "Yes it is", your voice almost cracked while saying that. He made more small talks about the singer of the song and you also enjoyed being engaged in the conversation. You loved talking to him about so many interests of yours. You couldn't talk to a friend like this about your interests. Some would be so bored and some would criticize so you wanted to talk to him so much.
After that you exchanged your numbers and ever since you both have been talking to each other. You feelings turned more than a mere crush for him. You both met up regularly and he actually was a really interesting person. You didn't knew how a person so amazing like him even existed in the first place. He seemed so Kind and... ethereal to even be on the earth. Soon he became your boyfriend and you were on cloud nine from then on. He treated you like an angel. But, he still had that mysterious aura around him.
One day you and your boyfriend were on a walk in the garden. Your thoughts wandered as you saw his form looking around the flowers. It felt like the plants were also getting happy seeing him. Maybe that was all in your head.
You were sure that the lavender told you everything but you couldn't help but wonder. A person so ethereal, so affectionate, so handsome, so kind, so loving yet so mysterious was your boyfriend. But you knew, he was the purest creature on this planet earth. You thought as a butterfly landed on your boyfriend's hand. Your eyes widened as you saw him. He seemed like an angel.

!!!List of papyrus things!!!
(Update 3! mini update.)
For anyone who needs more info on the guy! Since you usually dont see alot of info about him!
A list of stuff thats just papyrus's tid bits i've collected overtime!
(Disclaimer: some things can be taken off of memory, though I did search most of the stuff up, so you dont have to worry too much. But if your feeling unsure, search it up! And correct me while your at it.)
his room doesn't play/have music.
(If you have reunited playing at enter his room, it'll disappear forever. Untill you go back and let it play again. Even without reunited, a song that plays no matter what room your in, doesn't play any music.)
Never takes off his battle body.
(According to sans, he only takes it off if he has no other choice too. Otherwise he'll just put clothes ontop of it, or just repaints it if needed. He does how ever, change his pants but never takes off the top.)
the minute "royal gaurd " is out of the picture, he's got nothing.
(It was the one thing he worked up for. When the royal gaurd disbands He says he "working hard on doing absolutely nothing". Then again this can be interpreted as papyrus does say he is working on something, despite not being a royal gaurd yet.)
He lies. (And can manipulate)
(Though he is really bad at lying, he seems to manipulate just fine, though its usually not out of malice. He gets undyne to befreind you by mentioning "challenge", which is a weakness of hers, since she never can turn down a challenge. And has lied about floweys name to her to. Has lied to sans or atleast mislead him about the things he knows about. Pretended he didn't know what a lab was during a call in hotland, but if you call him when sans isn't there, papyrus mentions the lab as if it was common knowledge instead of saying "Labrador-y?" As if he had no idea.)
Changes up his attacks
( if you get captured a few times, you see variation in his attacks. If you do it right, you can get him too skip half of his entire attack.)
Calls his own puzzles "Awful"
(This happens after battling papyrus, he says "WHO KNEW THAT ALL I NEEDED TO MAKE PALS... WAS TO GIVE PEOPLE AWFUL PUZZLES AND THEN FIGHT THEM??" This could be interpreted in many ways.)
Spikes, fire, traps, fencless bridges: are all safe for children, according to papyrus.
("EACH AREA HAS TO HAVE A PRECARIOUS BRIDGE" -bridge likely to collapse, dangerous. "ITS MANDATED BY THE GOVERNMENT. OF COURSE KING FLUFFYBOY WANTS TO UNMANDATE IT SAFER." "WHY?! WONT HE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!)
Has "talked" with asgore before.
(Sadly, asgore and papyrus has crossed paths. Asgore advises him not to but dangerous puzzles around town, for the children. Papyrus wants to put dangerous puzzles around town, for the children. This results in them bickering over saftey laws, with papyrus usually winning.)
Tried to start a flowey fan club
(On multiple occasions calls flowey "his best freind" and shows genuine love for the little guy. He even gave flowey a little red scarf to match his, during the 5th anniversary winter alarm clock.)
Has photo-graphic memory for phone calls.
-call in the room where undyne chased you. He seems nervous, or atleast stressed out during this call. I'll leave any and all interpretation to you.)
(Ps: papyrus has bad memory, but good photographic memory?)
His disliking for grease
(Says this during a call with undyne in grillby's place. Undyne says she loves grease, and he quickly dismisses his opinion in favor of hers. Of course, papyrus HAS visited grillbys before, as the dogamy and doggeressa mention him with sans. )
Calls alphys "great"
(During the first tile puzzle, he praises alphys by calling her "THE GREAT DR. ALPHYS" )
Knows about undynes crush on alphus
(He teases undyne a few times on this, leading to the "hot voice" and "audible wink" papyrus lines. He's not oblivious to the things around him, unless he chooses to be.)
Put limes in his eyes!
(Conversation in hotland! The guy thought limes where cucumbers and stuck them in his eyes. When. He thought it wasn't working he put more limes. It burned like hell but he says it was all to have "mettaton's bishoning eyes")
Knows about mtt's eyes
(Nobody seems to know that mettaton has eyes?! Undyne confirms this fact. Papyrus is the only one who outright mentions it.)
He got mettaton to do the tile puzzle thing
(FOR SOME UNEXPLAINED REASON- mettaton was the tile puzzle robot alphys built. The puzzle robot papyrus had during his own tile puzzle. Infact, during mettaton's tile puzzle in hotland, he says that you'd is this a few hundred rooms ago. If you call papyrus, he starts rambling on all the instructions again. Hehe.)

(He says this himself, i don't exactly know WHY he thinks this of himself, but he does.)

The days in his date scene (Monday, Tuesday, weekday, Thursday,e.c.t ) changes depending on your computer. Even though the date in undertale is always Monday.
(River person has a scheduled thing that matches up to your computer date as well, but this is about papyrus, not river person.)

He pauses when speaking as a lost soul.
("I MUST CAPTURE A HUMAN! THEN EVERYONE WILL. ...." This is unusual as he is the only one that pauses. This can be interpreted, but it is rather interesting nonetheless)
Alright this is a bit more interpretive. Things may not be 100% facts down here.
Disclaimer: i will be putting "Interpretive" in red coloring for things that have may my interpretation or opinions in! Please do be mindful in your search, and take it with a grain of salt. It doesn't make it comepelty wrong, it has facts! Just muddled with oppinions.

( can be called interpretive: He always feels very unimportant, as if he doesn't actually matter. During a call in waterfall, with the puddle hallway, papyrus talks about not letting it "get to you" or something along the lines of that. Since undyne speaks from her experience with the puddles, then i'd assume papyrus would too.)
(I think its just a sign of self doubt or insecurity. Someone once said its dysphoria, which is a cool headcannon for paps or something. What ever it is, he has some demons that he doesn't want to let out.)
Forgetable.
( according to the genocide description)
( Interpretive: Other than that, he's not even noticable. Though, there are a few people that appreciate him, most dont really acknowledge him. Unless you kill him of course!)
Sad/depressed?
( interpreitive as well:Before the human showed up, sans explains how his brother was feeling quite down lately. We see a.. Happier side of papyrus through out our journey.. He vents out to us, the player/human, about things he dislikes, or troubles he faces. Hes like a froggit. Life is hard for a froggit.)
Smiles through things.
("This is where I tried to capture you! What a bad memory." -quote he says as he smiles through it all. He does have a sad emote, but so far i have only seen it during a call in hotland, where the CORE was shown. As your adventure is coming close.. To an end.)
Uses his playful "OUCH!" emote when you straight up kill him. Instead of his hurting/in pain emote when flowey catches him off guard before absorbing everyonesones souls.
(The reason is unkown, but that emote is normally associated with more of "light taps." Examples are, toriel's fireballs at asgore and flowey. Unless... Cutting off his head was considered a "light tap" then, but flowey wrapping him in painful vines is considered more painful than getting his head chopped off and still having enough consciousness to joke about it.)
He knows his cooking sucks and that nobody likes it.
(He's not naive. He knows. He even says it. "Nobody has like my cooking before!" - QUOTE. This isn't some hidden fact. He's trying his best, "mabye next year, he might even make something edible." -sans quote.)

Asalamualaikum sis, jumuah mubarak and i hope youve been well lately <3 I was the anon who sent a message some weeks back about a guy at university getting married just a few weeks before i sent a proposal to his mum, and my work etc stuff. So ive started work now and ive felt quite hopeless about moving on from him, because i keep comparing anyone i see to him in small ways. Anyways, so ive seen someone at work who has been working there for a few years it seems. I'd like to know more about him (mainly - is he married? how old is he? (because he seems really mature and the level of work he's doing at usually takes quite a few years to get to for our profession so im concerned that he's "too old" for me or married or something already)). I can't tell if i'm forcing myself to be interested in someone semi-decent to get over the university guy and find someone because i do want to get married but not sure how or if i'm actually interested in this person from work. I dont know much about him but he seems like a really serious, private guy - his private nature is something that has made me curious about him, but again i've only had a few encounters with him recently. I had to ask him something recently and he was very professional (sometimes came off as being cold to me but idk) and to the point and he seems like this with other females too from what i've seen. He didn't seem to make jokes or laugh unnecessarily etc. I know he prays but that's about all i know in terms of religion. Idk but something in me is curious about him. I'm wondering how to find out though if he's married + his age? I'll be leaving this workplace in a few months so i'm wondering if there's any point to this anyway? I also kind of want to be noticed by him but maintaining halal boundaries - this is hard given the nature of my profession, im from the UK too, and we're always told from a young age that we have to lower our gaze but then how do we find someone even? I know we have to lower our gaze but im wondering - how will i get him to notice me? I automatically tend to do so when im around men anyway but idk. Some friends have told me to just say hi to him or something if i walk by him at some point, but i tend not to initiate conversations with men and i dont want to seem too desperate and act someway i wouldnt usually, otherwise he may think im like this with all men. I've not seen him much either - I've recently been seeing him around the department very briefly on some days but that's it. I just feel confused about what to do and if i should even try with this. i'm not sure what to do. i've not even encountered him very much (i've only been at this workplace about 2 months and probably randomly seen him like 7 or 8 times - but very much so recently which is strange, given my recent interest in him too). i want to do things the proper islamic way and show my true self, but i've been told by my parents that it's hard to be like that these days and i should put myself out there more. i'm finding it hard to do so as ive entered the world of work i guess and having to interact with men more than at uni etc. i also want someone who is practicing and the same as me in terms of not being ok with talking unnecessarily to the opposite gender etc. i know ofc that Allah will send me someone at the right time and according to his perfect plan, but i guess i've always hoped that someone would approach me or magically appear lol. But now i feel like i do need to take some initiative, am i wrong? sorry that this message is all over the place.
Wa alaykum salam wa rahmatullah sis. First of all, I am so, so sorry for replying so late. I wasn't too well to be able to reply :(
So, a few things regarding what you said -
1) I know what you mean by the whole comparison thing. Once something settles in our hearts, we tend to want to look for that in everything else, and this is just so toxic for ourselves because no 2 things, or people, will ever be the same, and like my mother always tells me; it's okay to be different, and different doesn't have to be bad. It's easier said than done, but I think we should really strive to internalise this because we're gonna be doing everyone a disservice, including ourselves, if we keep looking for one person in another.
Also, please give yourself time and space to process your feelings and emotions. Don't rush into something else or someone else if you haven't fully healed or moved on from a person. If you feel like your interest in this work guy might potentially be a rebound, take a step back. You don't have to rush. In my personal opinion I feel like we should like someone or be interested in someone for who they are, and not because we feel the need to move on from someone. It might cause problems later. So, do figure that out.
2) If you're genuinely interested in the work guy because of the reflection of his character that you've seen in your limited experience with him, then I don't think it matters whether you're leaving soon or not. If you're serious about wanting to court him for marriage (in a halal way), you should go for it. Doesn't matter if either of you quits because it's the person that interests you right? What does the place or job have to do with it?
But if you feel like you only want to get to know him because you both work at the same place, or because he doesn't pay much attention to you and that piques your curiosity towards him, and nothing more, then I don't think that's the right reason to pursue someone for marriage, especially if the case is the latter. Please take time to figure out whether you're interested in him because you like something about him, or whether you're interested in him because he seems different and doesn't show much interest in you. Like you said, all you know about his deen is that he prays and you know nothing else; his professionalism may or may not be for the sake of Allah. So, ask yourself why you want to get to know him. Since you said you're not even sure if you're fully interested in him, try figuring out first why is it that he's been on your mind?
About wanting to know whether he's married or not and his age, try finding out indirectly instead of directly approaching him? Ask around about him or look him up on social media to know the basics. Someone from work must know? Perhaps a mutual colleage? Indirectly bring it up with a colleague or if you're close/friends with anyone directly tell them you're interested and you'd like to know the basics. And once you've found out, and fugured out whether you genuinely like him, I'd advise ask your wali to approach him and initiate marriage talks and stuff. But yeah first find out whether he's married or not. And do ask around about how he is as a person, etc.
3) About wanting to be noticed by him. Sis, that's just shaytan messing with your mind. Think about why we are commanded to wear the hijab? So as not to be noticed by men. Being noticed by them defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Hijab is more than just a garment we wear; it's a lifestyle. It's how we carry ourselves and interact with people, etc etc. Any righteous Muslim man shouldn't be noticing women, and any righteous Muslim woman shouldn't be doing things to get noticed by men. Both men and women are commanded to lower their gaze. It doesn't just help control our desires, but also to maintain our integrity. To ensure that our future spouse is the one we're satisfied with because we won't be comparing them to all these subconscious mental images we have of others. So much of what we look at settles in our subconscious without us even being aware, leaving us dissatisfied with reality.
Lowering the gaze has nothing to do with finding someone for marriage. Speaking to different men and casually hanging out with them and getting to know them and then deciding if they're suitable to marry - that's the culture and way of the disbelievers, not ours. Treading a fine line between haram and halal will not get us good spouses. Having taqwa and tawakkul and seeking permissible means will, bi idhnillah. When we're ready for marriage, we ask, or our parents ask, people (friends, family etc) to look for suitable partners, or consider someone ourselves from those around us as potentials, and get our families involved, and then meet the guy to talk to him and get to know him within Islamic guidelines, to figure out compatibility and all.
I know you probably already know this, but I still want to emphasise how important it is to not let kufr culture meddle with our heads.
4) With that said, I think you were right in not listening to your friends. That isn't the right way to go about it. May Allah reward you and give you the strength to stick to your values and principles. If you're really interested in getting to know him for marriage, let your wali/family know, and ask them to find out his age and marital status so that y'all can proceed from there; i.e. your wali approaching him with a marriage prospect for you. That is the most ideal thing to do.
And I totally disagree with your parents. Why on earth should a Muslimah put herself "out there" more?? You're absolutely on the right sis, may Allah grant you the strength and patience to hold on to the correct path. If you're gonna be putting yourself out there more, that's the kind of men you're going to attract - the ones who are all too chill with casually interacting with nonmahram women. When you stay true to your islamic principles, you will find a righteous Muslim man who will like you and be interested in you for exactly that - being a Muslimah and not putting yourself out there. Parents aren't always right about everything.
I know what you mean by hoping someone magically appears looooool (I may or may not have been hoping the same 👀 lmao), but you're not in the wrong to take an initiative. Don't fret about it in sha Allah, it's perfectly fine for you to do so, just keep in mind that you aren't transgressing the bounds of Allah.
