Love comes when you least expect it. Those same old words had fallen from the lips of every person you knew, so much so that they now felt weightless. On this particular evening, you found yourself at your best friend’s wedding reception, zoning out at the open bar. You nodded along as some man who’d had one too many G&T’s rambled on about his meet-cute on the Paris metro. Seeing two people you adored make a lifelong commitment only reaffirmed the fact that you craved the same.

It was no secret you weren’t exactly the MVP of the single scene. On any given night out, you’d leave the club before midnight to get a full eight-hour snooze. Dating apps were a no-no, as reruns of Catfish had made you skeptical about “finding the one” online. At work, you kept a low profile, socializing just enough to have a tight circle of work friends. It was as if you were coasting on autopilot, wanting love but hesitant to steer towards it.

Not to say that being single was all bad. Every hard-earned dollar was invested right back into the things you loved: trips, clothes, and your dog Cannoli. You silently weighed the pros and cons of your lifestyle as you stepped into the airline lounge.

Setting down your latest read to save your seat, you made your way to the breakfast buffet and grabbed a plate of avocado toast, poached eggs, and a glass of orange juice. On your way back, you spotted someone in a hoodie and cap making themselves at home in the armchair opposite yours.

The whole lounge was virtually empty, and this just had to be his seat of choice? You slowly approached from behind and let out a quiet gasp as you noticed them flipping through your book. “Love languages, huh?” The man pointed at the cover and smiled.

Your pupils dilated twice their size as you registered just who it was. The fan-made bracelets, the Leica, and, most of all, the signature McLaren cap—it all fell into place. “My manager and I just got into a huge argument, and honestly, I’d rather be anywhere but with him right now. Do you mind if I-" He gestured towards the seat beside you, his eyes radiating a silent plea.

“No problem. Let me give you your space,” you responded, hastily gathering your things. Just as you were about to step away, his hand gently clasped your wrist. “I could use the company. I’m Bob, by the way,” he mumbled, oblivious to the fact that his cover was blown.

As in, you knew he was currently seventh place in the driver’s championship and slowly but surely climbing up the standings. The last thing he needed was for you to bring any of that up, so you did as he said, trying to give him a sense of normalcy he so deserved.

He headed to the breakfast buffet and returned with the very items you had selected. "Copying me?" you teased. “First step in getting to know you,” he grinned. Curious about your life, he asked about your job in the emergency room. You told him the hours were grueling but watching extremely sick patients leave healthy made it all worthwhile. "Hope I never end up being your patient," he joked.

His interest didn't stop there; he inquired about siblings (only child), your dream vacation destination (Antibes), and whether you were a dog or cat person (not even a question). You, being a proud dog mom, wanted to show your furry guy off and handed Lando your phone.

As he squinted at your phone, you heard him say, "7 days to go. United States Grand Prix." A wave of panic washed over you as you remembered the Box Box widget that also occupied your screen. The silence was deafening as you wished the ground would swallow you up.

“Let me see the app,” He said. You normally wouldn’t have acquiesced so quickly, but you crumbled and unlocked your phone. He appeared to scroll and click a few things before he handed it back. “Widget Preferences. Constructor: McLaren? Driver: Lando Norris?” You asked as you noticed he’d made some selections.

“You hadn’t bothered with the preferences, so I took the liberty of choosing.” He blushed as the awkwardness of it all hung in the air. “That doesn’t feel fair. I’ve had all this time to get to know you, and I can’t say the same for the other drivers.” You teasingly retorted.

“I'll let the guys know they're in a tight race for your heart." He snickered. The man was on the verge of tears when his manager came by to remind him of his impending flight. “Flight’s in an hour, Lando,” snapped him right back to reality.

He entrusted you with his bags as he ran out to run a quick pre-flight errand. You couldn’t help but squeal the second Lando had vanished from view. What kind of magic was in the air at this airport and could it be bottled?

You tapped through your best friend’s Instagram stories as you awaited his return. The nearly empty lounge echoed as Lando asked a nearby gentleman for a pen and jotted something down. Breathless, he handed you a card, urging you to read it later.

"Your shoelace is untied," he mentioned, and as he bent down to tie it, his blue-green eyes met yours.

The British racing driver left your life in the abrupt way he had entered it. You took in the card, decked out with drawings of mac and cheese, milk and cereal, and avocado and toast, captioned "Better Together" at the bottom.

It was the only card in the store, but it felt just right. You highlighted “words of affirmation” as your love language, so I thought I’d give this a go. Thanks for keeping me company. Talk soon? - LN

His number was scribbled at the end. You quickly changed your lock screen widget to showcase his stats and took a screenshot to send his way.

New look. I might be biased, but I think you just became my favorite driver. Let's see if you can keep it up.

He replied right away.

Something about a 141-er and a single mom that's gonna do it for me every time. In Offer Me His Hunger, it's Johnny, and Reader has no idea what she's in for. Jesus Christ, Kadan writes one of my favorite Johnnys, and really nails that obsessive and calculating streak.

The Space in Between by @391780

You will laugh, you will cry, you will love and hate mafia boss!John Price. Reader crosses paths with John and the 141, and gets caught in their wake. Early writes some of the best Reader characters of all time, and this one's no different. This story will get under your skin so fast, in the best way.

The Arrangement by @391780

Speaking of Early, this is THE gateway drug to her work, in my humble opinion. One of the first COD fics I ever read and converted me into being a Price girlie. Sugar Daddy Price x a cute, smart, and fucking funny Reader. Also one of my favorite characterizations of Simon of all time.

Club 141 by @greatstormcat

BDSM and the 141 make a Sy very happy. Reader starts off with a fake ass dom and is quickly properly introduced to BDSM culture with the fellas. Really solid group dynamics. Make sure you read that Price x Ghost post for a good fucking time.

Lamb to the Slaughter by @ohbo-ohno

Probably one of my favorite Ghoap fics of all time. The way my jaw was on the floor for the majority of this should've sent me to the emergency room. It's brutal, it's horrifying, and fuck me running, I loved it, start to finish.

The Pit by @peachesofteal

First, the nightmare of getting into an accident in the winter. Second, having Ghost and Soap find you. Oh boy, The Pit is peak Ghoap manipulation. When I got to the end, I just sat in silence. Stunned. It was amazing.

Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied by tippytulip (if you're on here, pls lmk!)

Another early COD fic for me. A thrill ride with a whip-smart Reader AND it's set in the Midwest. Those are two ways into my heart. The relationship between Reader and Price isn't an easy one, and he gives her a dozen and a half reasons to dislike him. Another ride of a fic, with great action scenes and group dynamics.

Trapper, Keeper by @tinypandacakes

A König fic that makes me screech no less than ten times per chapter. Panda writes a fucking scary König and it blows my mind. So much of it is subtle and manipulative, with few outright (so far, it's ongoing!) examples. I get a knot in my stomach every time I read and I LOVE IT.

DOG by Danceofthesevenveils

Another König fic that features a pathetic loser König, who is also one of the scariest motherfuckers I've ever read. The use of text messages underscores the creepy vibes, and a great vehicle for the Reader x König dynamic early on.

Desire Paths by @ceilidho

Manipulative best friend Johnny, you are iconic to me. Ceilidh writes some of the best nasty Johnny fic out there, but Desire Paths has my heart. Another ending that had me gasping.

Take Me Home, Country Road by @ceilidho

Cowboy Price, take me awayyyyyy. A fantastic Western AU focused on a Reader with a secret and a Sheriff Price that'll make you sit up straighter. Ceilidh captures John's voice so clearly, I can hear it when I read. That porch scene is seared into my brain in the best way.

Tender is the Flesh by @crashtestbunny

Do you like scary Simon? Do you like feeling unsettling and turned on? *slams table* Do I have the fic for you! Connie's butcher!Simon makes my blood run both hot and cold. "Oh she’s a stunner." lives in my head rent free. Also the apron tie bit.

Pornstar!AU by @shotmrmiller

Warning, if you don't smoke, you might start after reading Toni's porn AU. I love this depiction of Ghost, his control and his care. AND there's a threesome bit with Ghost x Reader x Price. It's what dreams are made of.

heeseung - when he first sees it he’s in shock, (internally) because all he says outside is like “you look nice” which lowkey hurts your feelings because like does he think you look ugly or sum?? 🤨🤨 but like he doesn’t want to be teased by you because he thinks your so cute!! like he can’t stop looking at you and he thinks he’s discreet about it (but he’s not) so you confront him about it and he finally admits that he thinks you are the cutest, prettiest person alive and he keeps like pinching your cheek.

jay - hes the one that helped you pick your glasses out. so when you grab the one and put it on he knows it’s the cutest one on you, he steals the glasses from your hand and asks for those frames with your prescription. while you wait for them to be ready it’s all he can think about honestly. like he could be in the middle of working and think “y/n with glasses is so cute 🥰🥰” like this sounds really unrealistic but I DONT CARE 😜😜 and when u get the glasses he’s more excited than you! he quickly takes a photo of you with the glasses so he can put it as his lock screen and he looks at it and smiles every time ☹️☹️

jake - hes actually like jumping once he sees you, he like cups your face and looks into your eyes because he thinks youre so pretty :( he cannot get enough if you bro. and he’s so clingy afterwards like he can’t be away from you! also he like steals your glasses to put them on and like poses for you like “do i look good y/n? maybe i should get glasses” and he tells everyone he knows about them like “did you know y/n got glasses!?” UGH I LOVE THIS MAN.

sunghoon - he teases you for it, like he calls u four eyes and everything. but he doesn’t think you notice his lingering stares or him hugging you more often but you do. the thing is he’s too shy to upright tell you the glasses look so cute on you, so he does the opposite and teases you about them. he finally breaks his mask when you pretend to be sad because you think he doesn’t like them and he showers you in compliments and explains himself, to find out it was a prank 😠😠, he tickles you until you sincerely apologise.

sunoo - once he sees you, he fr starts squealing bro, like “ahhh y/nnie! you’re soo cute!! i’m going to die!!” and like kisses your cheek a bunch :((. he takes a selfie w/ you immediately and puts it as his wallpaper :(. he sometimes accidentally touches the lenses of your glasses and you get (jokingly) mad at him and he’s like “y/n-ah im sorry ☹️☹️” and you HAVE to forgive him bc he’s so cute!!

jungwon - when you walk in he literally starts blushing. like you? in GLASSES??? he just stares at you until you’re like “what? is it bad?” and he’s like “no not at all babe, you look so gorgeous!” and he thinks you HAVE to show him what you can see now so he makes you try to read a book from far away and you’re like “jungwon i can’t see that! i don’t think anyone can 😠😠” and he just giggles and moves it farther until you start laughing with him :)

niki - similar to sunghoon he has to tease you like he calls you a nerd and also calls you four eyes. especially if you’re like a reader he teases you to the max! like “can’t believe i’m dating a nerd 🙄🙄” and you’re like 😐. he also like takes you’re glasses and is like “y/n what number is this?” and he puts his hand in front of you like right in your face thinking you can’t see that? (obvi he knows but as a joke) and you’re like “niki be fr” and he rolls his eyes and goes back to whatever he’s doing. but when you aren’t paying attention, he takes a picture of you reading and puts it in his home screen as a widget.

| • teebs grows pretty attached to big mac ,, and always feels sad when he sends him to you :( always asking that you feed and bathe him

| • teebs usually has his status set to 'kiss' but when he gets drunk he changes it to 'lonely' or 'miss you'

- brainstorm

| • youre the one to introduce it to him and hes over the moon about it ,, he loves the concept and is super excited about coparenting with you

| • you let him name the hatched egg ,, which happens to be a duck

| • brainstorm calls him 'featherington' for sheer silliness ,, but really he just loves featherington

| • he spends money for the premium version so he can spoil his little duckie

| • he always fights you on the notes too ,, telling you to take extra care of featherington whilst hes working and if you dont hes gonna unleash the tickle monster

| • and you dont really have the time for the tickle monster ,, so you do your best to care for featherington

| • brainstorm usually has his status set as 'need you' ,, the little animated kitty cat that only premium lets you have

| • he sends you good night notes on the note widget ,, and sometimes reminders of things you need to do that day

| • when hes done with work and bored ,, he draws featherington on the doodle widget

- first aid

| • he probably found it whilst he was taking a break from working ,, and saw it as an ad and wanted to do it with you

| • he insists on naming the pet springy ,, totally not in relevance to springer ,, he doesnt know what youre talking about

| • you hatched a cat though ! first aid tries his hardest to take care of springy but he usually ends up neglecting him or using all his items and waits for the cool downs

| • he has his status set as 'kiss you' or 'working'

| • he'll doodle little stars in his free time though ,, which is rarely

| • first aid is another who puts little reminders on your notes widget in case you have something to do that day

| • he also spams you care reminders and gets worried when you dont take care of springy and demands him back

- whirl

| • youre the one to introduce him to the app and he at first doesnt agree to coparent but then he starts to overthink it and agrees in the end

| • he names the pet 'spike' for shits and giggles but yall hatch a duck and he becomes so attached to spike

| • he definitely buys premium to care for spike whether or not you know about it

| • any time you receive spike ,, he immediately spams 'missing spike' notes and spams the 'care reminder' notes

| • he has his status set as 'hit' or 'push'

| • he draws spikes on the doodle notes and sends you the most out of context notes ever on the widgets

| • you swear ,, one these days and magnus will sneak a peak accidentally and confiscate your phone

- tailgate

| • hes so excited to coparent with you he cant even wait the 24 hours ! he names the pet fluffy because he likes it .

| • you hatch a shark though ,, but tailgate insists on keeping the name fluffy

| • tailgate loves fluffy so much ,, he always reminds you to take care of him ,, though sometimes he does happen to neglect fluffy on accident

| • when he does ,, he starts getting emotional and sends fluffy to you instantly ,, saying hes a bad parent and doesn't deserve him

| • he always loves when he gets fluffy back though ,, hes so joyous and is always thanking you

| • when bored ,, tailgate doodles blue hearts and sends you little love notes on the widgets

| • he has his status set to 'kiss' or 'loving'

- skids

| • you introduce the app to him and he doesnt see why not ,, so he agrees to coparent with you

| • you let him name the pet ,, and he chooses 'bubby' for em

| • yall hatch a fox ,, and skids gets to care for him first

| • you had to show him how to ,, and he learns fast how to use the app after that

| • skids makes sure to take care of bubby when needed and doesnt blow through all his items immediately

I have a practical question. You have a website, how did you do that ? And host it ? And have a domain name ? The logistics are very obscure to me but I would love to have one someday, for art or for games. There are so many options out there I'm not sure where to start.

Aw thanks!!! I feel like I'm pulling from my childhood when I make a lot of my stuff so I'm glad the vibes come across

I'm honestly a total noob when it comes to this kind of stuff and it was a STRUGGLE for a good week or so lol but I'll tell you what I did.

Mostly I tried to follow this guide, it's helpful but very old and some places I just had to wing it.

Stuff I use for "we go together":

Theme: Comic Press

Plugin for webcomic: Comic Easel (I tried Webcomic first but some functions didn't work for some reason? Comic Easel also has stuff that doesn't work for me, but it's less of the important ones. Try switching plugins if you get super stuck maybe.)

Plugin for stats: Visitor Traffic Real Time Statistics

There are other ones in that guide that I tried to track down and use too.

Wordpress is really jank and I really just spent a long time messing with the settings and seeing if they did what I wanted them to in another tab. Some stuff I just never ended up figuring out, like how to have bigger buttons for the <pref next> buttons (I think there's coding involved 😭). Sometimes things just. Don't work, for whatever reason. I still can't figure out how to hide part of the list of chapters even though there's literally a thingy that's supposed to do that in a widget.

All that's to say, there might be an easier way of doing it but this is how I did it HAHA

If one more person calls Athena's design bad I'm gonna have a brain aneurism I actually can't with you people.

In the Dual Destinies artbook, it is stated that Athena was specifically designed to have a more manga/anime influenced appearance, and I think they accomplished that with flying colors.

She doesn't look the same as Phoenix and Apollo, but that was never their intention at all. Whether you LIKE the direction they went with her design is of course, entirely subjective, but you cannot call it a failure of a design.

BUT ANYWAY I'm about to justify many design elements that I've seen people criticize.

The side ponytail. ONE THAT I'VE SEEN MANY PEOPLE DISOWN FOR... Seemingly no reason? Either way it's clearly stated here that the side ponytail was used to make her silhouette more distinguishable.

Her more futuristic elements were also VERY MUCH INTENTIONAL- Not to mention they are quite literally justified within the game, with Athena having been raised in a robotics lab at the space center, and having a very heavy technology motif, especially with widget.

I've also seen people complain about her boots, to which I say I think they do a good job matching the rest of her color scheme as well as furthering the futuristic/manga vibe they were going for.

As you can see, both the boots and the side ponytail were prevalent in a lot of these early designs, and they also played around with the idea of her ponytail resembling a music note.

As you can see, the overly futuristic vibe was always there, and she was never intended to just LOOK like an ordinary lawyer- And honestly, I'm glad they did something like this to distinguish Athena from both Apollo and Phoenix.

Her wearing primarily yellow helps to tie her in, but she also stands out in her own way, which makes sense, since neither Apollo or Phoenix were designed to reflect their backstories or specific themes.

Phoenix was literally designed to be a lawyer, and Apollo was literally designed to be another Phoenix (no offense, I love Apollo and his design haha).

Not to mention they do a good job sticking to the few distinct colors they chose for her, bright yellow, blue, and white. Which reflect her personality perfectly- Like, you get what she's all about the second she comes on screen.

I guess this is why the claims that she is over designed seem to piss me off to no end. AGAIN- She is definitely more detailed than Phoenix and Apollo, and is definitely a departure from the style of the series, but that doesn't make the design cluttered or bad.

NOT TO MENTION- Athena was the first protagonist to be specifically designed to become a 3d model. And it makes sense that they would utilize that medium in a way for her design DIFFERENTLY than those of her 2d predecessors- So again, the extra detail makes sense.

SO ANYWAYS- Long story short, got really sick of people echoing opinions about Athena's design being bad, so I wanted to educated anyone reading on why I personally think that she is the best designed protagonist in the ace attorney series- And her design is deserving of a lot more love.

『 The video opens with a shot of Jaemin walking into the studio, hand-in-hand with Y/N. The set is white with two white chairs facing each other, a white table, a white set of earbuds, and a white set of noise-cancelling headphones. Jaemin swings their arms up and down as he leads her to her seat, and he doesn’t let go, even when he’s sitting down in his chair. Y/N laughs, and Jaemin finally releases her hand after the P.A. claps the slate. 』

“Can you introduce yourselves?”

Y/N: “Hi, my name’s Y/N. I’m 21 years old, and I’m a 3rd year medicine student.”

Jaemin: “Hi, my name is Jaemin, I’m 20 years old, and I am a 1st year medicine student.”

“How long have you been dating?”

Y/N: “Almost 4 yeaㅡ”

Jaemin: “1,422 days.”

Y/N: “You know the exact day?”

『 Jaemin nods, before pulling out his phone. He first shows the screen to Y/N, then to the camera. The camera zooms in on a pink heart widget with a calendar in the center, before cutting back to a chuckling Y/N. 』

Jaemin: “Of course I know the exact day. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t keep track of things like this?”

Y/N: “Less organized, but still mine.”

『 Jaemin laughs. 』

“How did you two meet?”

Y/N: “We met back in our first year of high school.”

Jaemin: (nods) “Y/N transferred to our school during the second semester, and because I was the class president at the time, I was in charge of showing her around.”

Y/N: “Can you believe it’s already been, like, 6 years?”

Jaemin: (shakes his head before letting out an exaggerated sigh) “I can’t believe we’re already adults. I’ve already completed my military service and everything.” (pauses) “Do you prefer the current me or the me from back then?”

『 Y/N pauses...and pauses...and pauses, with Jaemin’s jaw lowering with each second that passes. The silence is broken by a single, muted chuckle that is heard from behind the camera. The studio erupts into laughter. 』

Jaemin: (stands up) “Hey! Is it really that hard of a question?”

Y/N: “I just wanted to see your reaction, that’s all.” (chuckles) “Honestly, I think I prefer the current you, but it’s only because I didn’t know the past you that well.”

Jaemin: (pouts, playfully) “Even though you were so proud of being able to see right through my ‘good boy’ facade...”

Y/N: (smiles, then nods) “You’re right, you’re right. But what about you, though? Do you like the current me or the paㅡ”

Jaemin: “The current you, definitely.”

Y/N: (laughs) “No hesitation at all, huh?”

Jaemin: (shrugs) “I said what I said.”

『 Jaemin and Y/N both laugh. 』

“What was your first impression of each other?”

『 The video cuts to Jaemin putting in the earbuds, then sliding the noise-cancelling headphones on over his ears. Jaemin motions for Y/N to look at him. 』

Jaemin: “Say something!”

Y/N: “Something.”

Jaemin: “‘Somethiㅡ’ that’s too easy, do a different one!”

Y/N: “Na Jaemin, you dummy.”

Jaemin: “‘Na Jaemin, you dummy’ ㅡ do a different one!

Y/N: “Na Jaemin, I love you.”

Jaemin: “ ‘Na Jaemin, I ㅡ’” (pauses, then smiles) “I love you too!”

《 HER SIDE 》

Y/N: “I didn’t like him, to be honest. Like Jaemin mentioned earlier, I transferred to a new high school during second semester, and because he was the class president, he was ‘in charge’ of showing me around. He seemed nice, and it was really obvious that he was popular with everyone (including the teachers and upperclassmen)...but something just seemed so...off...about him. Like, there was no denying how polite and friendly he was, but it just didn’t feel authentic. He just...looked really empty whenever he smiled around people...and that made me really annoyed. I couldn’t understand why he was pretending to be someone he wasn’t. So, being as blunt and as nosy as I was back then, I asked him about it.” (pauses) “He obviously didn’t take it well. I mean, anyone would feel offended if someone accused them of being fake. But it’s not that I was trying to be mean to him or to offend him...I genuinely wanted to know. He looked like he was forcing himself to play that ‘perfect student’ facade, and I wanted to understand why he would do that to himself.”

『 The video cuts to Y/N putting in the earbuds, then sliding the noise-cancelling headphones on over her ears. 』

Jaemin: “Tapioca pearl.”

Y/N: “Huh?”

Jaemin: “Ta-”

Y/N: “Na-”

Jaemin: “Pi-”

Y/N: “Huh?”

Jaemin: “Tapi-”

Y/N: “Go slower!”

『 Laughter can be heard from behind the camera. 』

Jaemin: “O-”

Y/N: “Hyo?”

Jaemin: “O-”

Y/N: “O-?”

Jaemin: “Ca-”

Y/N: “A-?”

Jaemin: “Pearl!”

『 Y/N takes off the headphones and sighs. 』

Y/N: “What?”

Jaemin: “Tapioca pearl.”

Y/N: (laughs) “How was I supposed to get that?”

『 Video cuts to “HIS SIDE”, with Y/N wearing the headphones again. 』

《 HIS SIDE 》

Jaemin: “I didn’t like her.” (chuckles lightly) “I was in charge of showing her around the school when she transferred to our class, and the first thing she said to me was, ‘Isn’t it hard faking that smile all the time?’” (pauses) “It was the first time I’d ever felt so exposed. I’d worked my entire life up until that point to perfect this ‘good boy’ character, only for her to see right through me within hours of meeting me. It was terrifying.”

PD: (off-camera) “Why did you feel that you needed to perfect the ‘good boy’ character?”

Jaemin: “I guess...I just didn’t want to let anyone down.” (pauses) “I’ve always been that kid that adults would compare their kids to. ‘Jaemin got an A, why can’t you do it too?’ or ‘Jaemin placed first, you need to do better.’ I always heard things like that when I was growing up, but it wasn’t like I actively tried to, you know, do well. I didn’t even like studying. And with piano and archery...I didn’t practice in order to get good ㅡ I’m really not competitive like that. Winning was never my goal, it just...happened.”

『 Video cuts to the crew, who start laughing. Jaemin also starts to laugh. 』

Jaemin: “Well, anyways, by the time I got to middle school, I realized that the people around me expected me to be good at everything. Everyone expected me to get good grades, to place first in competitions, to volunteer for different class events...they also suddenly expected me to be this well-mannered ‘prince’. Like, people started calling me ‘Prince’ at school, and I didn’t know how to respond.”

Jaemin: “One time, I guess I got too frustrated about something and ended up saying something sarcastic. I thought it was normal to act that way, but everyone was surprised that I got mad in the first place.” (pauses) “It was around then that I kind of realized that the image that people had when they thought of me was not even close to my true self. Everyone really thought of me as this perfect prince, so to prevent hurting anyone’s feelings or causing some kind of cognitive dissonance, I erased the ‘real’ Na Jaemin and forced myself to fit into that role.”

《 BOTH SIDES 》

Y/N: (sighs) “I still feel bad about our first conversation.”

Jaemin: “Why?”

Y/N: “Because I shouldn’t have said any of that to you. I was so out of line.”

Jaemin: (shrugs) “As much as it scared me...I felt like it was a conversation that I needed to have.”

Y/N: (mumbles) “That doesn’t mean it was okay...”

Jaemin: “You’ve already made it up to me, so don’t worry about it.”

Y/N: “I have? How?”

Jaemin: (pauses, then smirks) “This morning, when weㅡ”

『 Y/N gasps, then immediately stands from her seat. She reaches over to cup her hand over Jaemin’s mouth. 』

Y/N: “You can’t talk about that stuff! You’re gonna get their YouTube channel demonetized!”

『 Jaemin shrugs. 』

“In what ways did your feelings towards your partner change?”

《 HER SIDE 》

Y/N: “My feelings completely changed after I actually took time to get to know him. I went from disliking him, to pitying him, to actually liking him as a person.” (pauses) “I realized that I misunderstood his intentions, in the beginning. I assumed that he was a two-faced liar because of how he deceived everyone, but those thoughts quickly shifted into, ‘Wow. I wonder what kind of pressure he’s under to feel like he needs to lie about his feelings in order to keep up with this facade’, which then turned into ‘Na Jaemin is one of the most considerate people I know.’ The more I talked to him, the more I wanted to kind of ‘free’ him of that ‘prince’ character, so I promised him that I wouldn’t tell anyone about his secret. I told him that it didn’t matter what kind of face he put on. Na Jaemin is Na Jaemin, and I was going to accept him no matter what.”

《 HIS SIDE 》

Jaemin: “I think everything changed ㅡ my feelings, my impression of her, all of it. At first, I thought of her as a threat; I was scared she was gonna expose me to the whole school. But after she promised not to tell anyone...I started feeling really, I don’t know, comfortable? Like, I was skeptical at first, but after a while, I felt like I could be my true self around her without worrying about her judgment. I could be as negative, weird, impatient, and childish as I wanted to be, and I knew she would accept all of it.” (pauses) “I became really, really grateful for her. I was able to find myself because of her support.”

《 BOTH SIDES 》

Jaemin: “Remember that promise you told me?”

Y/N: “The one where I wouldn’t expose you?”

Jaemin: (nods) “Yeah.”

Y/N: (smiles) “Of course I do.”

Jaemin: “Remember when I excused myself to go to the bathroom?”

Y/N: “Yeah, why?”

Jaemin: “I went there to cry.” (laughs) “You said you’d accept me, no matter what face I put on.” (smiles) “That was the first time I’d ever heard something like that.”

Y/N: (closes her eyes and tilts her head back) “Now I’m gonna cry.”

『 Jaemin laughs. 』

“When did you realize you’d fallen for your partner?”

《 HER SIDE 》

Y/N: “It was around our last year of high school. Jaemin and I were put into different classes, which wouldn’t have been too bad, but he had also become the Student Council President, so he didn’t have much free time to hang out. I only saw him every now and then, but every time I saw him, I realized how much he’d changed. He wasn’t afraid of making snarky comments, he wasn’t afraid of standing up to people, and he definitely wasn’t afraid of jumping around when he got excited about something. He was changing so much...and I felt kind of...sad about it. He was sides of him that I only knew about to everyone else, and ㅡ I’m embarrassed that I ever even felt this way ㅡ it made me feel lonely and jealous.” (pauses) “That’s when I knew I’d fallen for him. I wanted to be the only one who knew about those sides of him, because that’s the only way I knew that I’d be special to him.”

Y/N: “I wanted to talk to him about my feelings, but he just...stopped answering me out of the blue. He wouldn’t answer my texts, my calls...he wouldn’t even look at me when we passed by each other in the hall. At first, I thought it was unintentional. I thought that he might’ve not seen me or that he might’ve been too busy to respond...but it got to a point where it was undeniable. I don’t know what I did, but he cut me off like I was nothing.” (pauses) “I’d fallen out with friends plenty of times before, but nothing was ever as painful as falling out with Jaemin.”

《 HIS SIDE 》

Jaemin: “It was our last year of high school, and it turned out that we were placed into different classes. Even though our classrooms were right next to each other, we weren’t able to hang out that often because I had so many things to do with the Student Council.” (pauses) “I was so busy that I didn’t even realize that Y/N was dating someone else, and by the time I figured out, there was nothing I could do.”

Jaemin: “I didn’t really know how to act around her after that. Every time I saw her and her boyfriend together...I got so upset that I didn’t know what to do with myself. So I stopped talking to her altogether. I didn’t answer her texts, I didn’t answer her phone calls...I cut her off to preserve my ego, and we eventually stopped being friends. We didn’t acknowledge each other at school or outside of school. And I knew that I was the one who started it, but it felt unbearable. I hated knowing that Y/N had erased me from her world, even though I was trying so hard to erase her from mine.” (pauses) “It’s only after all of this that I realized how much I liked her.”

《 BOTH SIDES 》

Y/N: “I don’t really like talking about this part of our relationship.” (pauses) “It was really painful, you know? Being ghosted by someone you really liked.”

Jaemin: (leans forward to take Y/N’s hands into his) “I know, I’m sorry, Y/N.”

『 Both turn to look at the PD, who signals the staff to move onto the next question. 』

“How did you start dating?”

《 HER SIDE 》

Y/N: “It’s...a really long story.” (sighs) “So, one of my friends on the Student Council had asked me when I started dating Jeno, one of my close friends at the time. I was pretty confused, because I didn’t even know that I was dating Jeno. Apparently someone had spread a rumor that he and I were dating, and all of a sudden, everything became so clear to me. The way Jaemin was avoiding me, I figured it had to do something with that rumor. So I got up and left my class, went into Jaemin’s class, and I asked him to eat lunch with me that day.” (chuckles) “Looking back now, I feel bad for putting him on the spot like that, but in the end, he showed up, so I guess it wasn’t too big of a deal to him.”

Y/N: “It was kind of awkward at the beginning, but I did my best to keep the conversation going, and somehow things ended up going back to normal. We saw each other every day during our breaks, and I even started to help the Student Council with the school festival preparations. I was on the Art Committee, so I basically just stayed after classes and made decorations, painting backdrops, things like that. I was in the middle of painted a mural, when all of a sudden, I felt someone, like, wrap their arms around me from behind. And so I did the only thing I thought of doing ㅡ I threw my palette at whoever was standing behind me.” (laughs)

Y/N: “It turned out to be Jaemin, but I was still freaked the hell out, so all I could focus on was getting his clothes washed before it was too late.” (pauses) “He didn’t care, though. All he did was ask for a hug, so I hugged him. Then, he asked for a kiss...so I kissed him.” (smiles) “It was so random, the way he started confessing his feelings on the spot. But I listened, and I told him how I felt about him...and the rest is history. We’ve been dating ever since.”

《 HIS SIDE 》

Jaemin: “One day, Y/N showed up to my classroom and called me out in the middle of a lecture.” (smiles) “She looked at me dead in the eyes and asked, ‘Na Jaemin, let’s eat lunch together today’ ㅡ the English teacher was literally in the middle of a lesson, by the way.” (laughs) “So, I met her for lunch that day, and even though it was awkward at first, eventually it felt like nothing had even happened between us. We were talking and laughing and acting like we hadn’t gone the last 2 months without ignoring each other.”

Jaemin: “Things went back to normal after that. We hung out every day, called each other every night, studied together during exam season...I’d forgotten how good it felt to be by her side.” (pauses) “Things changed after we started preparing for the school festival, though. Y/N volunteered to be a part of the Art Committee, so she always stayed after school to paint props and things like that. I ended up overhearing the committee chair talk about asking Y/N out at the school festival, and I wasn’t about to give him a chance before I took mine, so I started running around to find Y/N.”

Jaemin: “It took a while, but I found her in the art room, working on the festival mural. She hadn’t heard me walk in because of her headphones, so I, without thinking, hugged her from behind to get her attention...She ended up getting paint all over my uniform, and I guess she started panicking because she immediately started pulling my blazer and shirt off of me.” (laughs) “She got really flustered and apologized, but I asked if I could hug her again, and she let me. After that, my feelings kind of just spilled out on their own. I told her everything. I told her how I felt about her and that I wanted to be more than just a friend to her.” (smiles) “And we’ve been together ever since that day.”

《 BOTH SIDES 》

Y/N: “You know, I’ve always been wondering this...”

Jaemin: “Wondering what?”

Y/N: “Why you confessed to me that day.”

『 Jaemin opens his mouth to speak, but immediately squeezes his lips shut and shakes his head. 』

Jaemin: “It’s a secret.”

Y/N: “A secret?”

Jaemin: (nods) “You’ll see when this video comes out.”

『 Y/N turns to the PD, who shrugs. All three of them laugh. 』

“What would life be like if you’d never met your partner?”

《 HER SIDE 》

Y/N: “If I hadn’t met Jaemin?” (pauses) “My life would be very black and white. Jaemin adds so much color to my world. He makes me feel so many things in such vivid and intense ways, and I know that some people are going to say, ‘Well, you’d meet someone else who’d make you feel the same way’...but I don’t think I would. The feelings that I feel when I’m with him are unique and irreplaceable.” (smiles) “There’s no one like Na Jaemin.”

《 HIS SIDE 》

Jaemin: “Very dark, probably. Y/N’s my savior, in a way. Back in high school, I used to wonder who the real Na Jaemin was, and if he was even needed in the first place. Sometimes the thoughts got really dark...but Y/N...her wholehearted acceptance of me ㅡ both the fake me and the real me and everything in between ㅡ gave me hope. She helped me build the courage to live more authentically. I don’t think I’d be as happy as I am right now if I hadn’t met her.”

《 BOTH SIDES 》

Y/N: “I really love you, Jaemin.”

Jaemin: (smiles) “I know. I love you too. You changed my life, Y/N.”

Y/N: “And you changed mine.”

『 The interview ends. Jaemin gets up from his chair first and extends his hand to help Y/N up from her chair. He pulls her into a warm embrace, and they share a tender kiss before separating and bowing to the staff. They share one more quick kiss before exiting the studio. The video fades to black. 』

Best Apps For Productivity & Studying

Hello there lovelies! It hasn’t been long since I started my vacay and soon enough, school is about to start. A few days from now I’ll be entering my school as a junior, aka 3rd-year college student. Time flies fast, doesn’t it? I started this blog when I was in my junior year of high school and now I’m a college student!

Speaking of school, I have here 4 apps that I really love to use for studying and any academic-related tasks, or whenever I need to be productive. These are 4 of the best apps out there that can help you be more productive and track your progress. You can also use these apps regardless if you’re in high school or college. Another thing about these apps is they are all easy to use and navigate. Lastly, these are all free to download on IOS and Android devices.

1. Google Calendar

First on the list is Google Calendar. Of all the calendar apps to choose from, this is my favorite. I have tried several calendar apps in the past and this is the only one I continue using and will use forever!

The layout is simple, easy to use, customizable, and it has a lot of features. I like that you can notify yourself multiple times for an event or task. I also like that you share an event (or calendar/tasks) with your organization, friends, and family. Another thing that I like about this app is how convenient it is because you can use it via desktop or your mobile devices.

Note: you can also add more colors for your calendar/event by clicking the three dots when hovering over a calendar, then click add custom color.

2. Yeolpumta

This is probably one of my best discoveries last semester! It’s easy to use, very customizable, functional, and of course, very aesthetically pleasing.

The app itself looks very minimalist and there arent a lot of distractions. Aside from that, you can use this app for a wide range of options such as a habit tracker, study tracker, pomodoro, etc. I personally use this as a progress and study tracker. This also helps you to stay focused because it wont let you leave the screen unless you’re using one of the allowed apps, which you can also choose which to include. In addition, it also has tons of features like the timer and calculator option, a dictionary, and white noise feature as well as see the users who are also studying at that time.

3. Notion

Notion is one of my favorite apps and I’ve been using it since I started college. I use Notion for everything! My habit tracker, expense tracker, reading tracker, journal, class schedule, to-do list, or basically my life is in here. The screenshots above is what half of my Notion dashboard looks like.

You can find lots of cool templates online or you can just create your own. It can be overwhelming at first, but once you get the gist of it, the things that you can create are endless. You may search for Alyanna Ross on Youtube because she has a lot of Notion-related videos and you can learn so much from her.

As mentioned above, you can use Notion for various things, may it be for school, work, life, or productivity. You can add lots of widgets to further customize your setup and make it more tailored to your needs. Take advantage also of the tables and columns to enhance your Notion setup.

4. Forest

This app is one of my faves to record how long I am studying. It’s also easy to use and can be used on your mobile devices or as a Chrome extension. It’s up to you to select the time or minutes of studying and after that, you get to plant a tree. If you stop, your tree also withers.

I honestly prefer Yeolpumta nowadays because it has more features. However, I am also after the plant a real-life tree feature of Forest and so far, I have already planted 5 trees! Sadly tho, 5 is the maximum.

eddie headcannons for living in present day

a few headcannons i thought of for being eddie's partner in the present day! these are my own thoughts, if you think of any others feel free to add them to the comments!

these are writted with eddie having a femme partner, but no pronouns are used so anyone can enjoy!

content warnings: lots of fluff, no smut, semi implied though(?), occasional use of y/n

would 100% play world of warcraft, complains about how expensive it is but still never lets his subscription run out every month

would drag you into every warhammer store looking for figurines for d&d

IS a reddit user but purely for d&d map inspiration and r/babygoats

still has the exact same music taste and says “back in my day we listened to-"

also claims to hate nu metal but sneaks in an occasional deftones song

hairstyle would be really similar but probably more of a long wolf cut to modernise it

loves the cinema for new movies but pirates everything else

corroded coffin is more successful than it was in the 80s, but they’re still not ‘famous’

makes youtube videos with tutorials on how to play songs on guitar and gets 10 views per video. he still enjoys it anyway

still chooses to pick you wildflowers instead of grocery store ones because he thinks their more special (even if they’re from rich peoples lawns)

still deals but only to a select few and close friends

goes to as many metal shows as he can; whether it’s for his favourite band or an up and comer he’s never heard of

he has just 3 spotify playlists, 1 is metal and the other is more chilled out rock. the third is music he knows you likes that he’s sure to put on when you’re over (also curses out the spotify adverts but refuses to pay for it)

D&D is still one of his favourite hobbies of course. he grew up playing in the only D&D shop near hawkins called ‘the forge’ his charisma made him great friends amongst the other players there and soon enough after her had a few campaigns under his belt, it was his turn to DM

is honestly a bit of a fussy eater, but anything you order or make that he hasn’t tried yet he always asks to try and realises he likes a lot more than he thought

would have a lot more tattoos and would volunteer as a practice sheet for tattoo apprentice friends

uses incense in his room, he says it’s to mask the weed smell but you’d noticed him deeply sniffing his favourite scents in the store

likes his cheap cologne, and loves it when he smells it on you the next morning

facetiming you when he sees a cool rock/tree/dog/straycat/funny looking cloud, mainly to see your face scrunch up into a laugh at the ridiculous thing he’s called you for

uses the same password for everything

has maybe 4 additional apps on his phone to the default ones. his favourite would be locket widget so you “have to see my face no matter where you look.”

does have social media but definitely posts annually and it’s either you, corroded coffin or some swanky new dice

only follows you and matthew mercer on social media too

likes natures documentaries and sniffles a lot when the buffalo gets eaten by lions, and when the lions DONT get any buffalo to eat

loves getting you small inexpensive gifts, your favourite chocolate or drink, a little trinket for your bedside table, mostly cards with two animals in love on it

laying inbetween his legs with your back against his chest as he teaches you how to roll his cigarettes, they were terrible of course but he loved watching your brows furrowed in concerntration smacking his hand away any time he tried to help

also! would use menthol filters for his cigarettes ever since you mentioned how much you love the minty tobacco taste left on his lips, “doubles up as a breath mint too!” eddie would wink at you.

he wasn’t very good at cooking but he loved helping you and doesn’t want you to feel pressured to cook for him. takes any chance he can to make you food he knows how to make, usually toast and fruit juice in bed served with a kiss

LOVES makeup shopping with you, no matter your style of makeup alternative or not, he’s so intrigued about the different kinds and always wants to treat you. “$10 for a skinny crayon? that’s daylight robbery!”. he still begged you later that day to turn him into gene simmons

still got weird stares out in public even in our time but he thrived whenever you visited bigger cities with more diversity

playing any kind of multiplayer game together. left 4 dead 2, borderlands, halo, divinity 2; eddie didn’t care what it was as long as he could spend the time with you (as long as you promised not to tell people he married harvey playing stardew valley)

also! screaming and swearing and crying of laughter playing overcooked, resulting in lots of playful fights and kisses

watching the whole lord of the rings trilogy extended cut in one session, “ed’s it’s NINE hours, you said it was only 3 films!” you huffed looking at the box set his uncle had bought him years ago. “nine hours that will change the rest of your life y/n.” he smiled dramatically inserting the dvd. he was right of course 9 hours later there you were gripping eddies hand so hard as tears burned into the corners of your eyes. eddie spent the last 9 hours glancing between the action of the movie darting back to your face to enjoy your reaction, ‘my friends, you bow to no-one’ aaragon announced on the tv, you clenched your eyes shut as tears flooded down your cheeks and a quiet sob escaped your lips. eddie whipped his head to yours concern written all over his face, cupping your cheep with his large ringed hand. “everyone bowed for THEM, the HOBBITS eddie!” you choked as the soft violin music playinf already felt nostalgic. eddie pulled you close, nose bumping against yours and wipes away your tears with his thumb and pressing kisses to your reddened cheeks. “i told you doll, life changing” he sighed, knowing full well he could shed a tear at how involved with his favourite series you were.

if you were ever doing anything stood up eddie would always come up behind you and snake his arms around your waist and give your butt a small squeeze with both of his hands, you’d squeak in surprise every time before leaning back into eddie as he held you. you walked out of yours and eddies room one morning to see him facing away from you at the kitchen counter wearing nothing butt black boxer shorts as he poured some juice. you sneaked as best you could on your creaky floorboards before reaching each hand out onto eddies butt and give it a big squeeze. he let out a high pitch ‘EEEHH’ as you did spilling some apple juice onto the counter before looking out you with a false scowl. “only i get to do that.” he huffed pretending he didn’t enjoy it whilst he pale cheeks simultaneously tinted a shade of pink.

this! evolved into giving each other a light smack on the butt whenever you walked past each other, your hands lingered a little longer on him when he wore his jeans because wow, did he look good in them and vice versa when you wore… well pretty much anything -more often than not this leading to more heavy petting-

pda kinda guy, but more so handholding, having an arm over your shoulder, rubbing his hands up and down yours arms aimlessly, kissing you on the cheek and dramatically kissing your knuckles and bowing, making your cheeks flare up

eddie giving you driving lessons even though he’s not a great driver himself

if people don't hate this i might make a part 2 if i come up with more ideas + plus any that others suggest

The results are in and as I said, overwhelming.

I have been looking at polling systems and forms and what-nots — there isn’t a significant difference for the sake of this project, as a form can be fed into a math widget and made into a poll.

As a public domain research and development post:

(ie if you want to do this with your world or company etc, do so, and tell me about it, I love data)

The system I will be using is…

Google Forms.

The other systems I found largely cost $15-30/month and almost all want users to register, or in some way provide an email address.

I explicitly want to keep this no-barrier and open to responders answering as many times as they like. Honestly, “this poll was frequently spammed” will be a hilarious footnote.

This isn’t a serious system.

It’s for entertainment — both in the real world (me behind a computer crafting it) and in fiction (the storylines I am writing for the Netherworld poll takers are, hopefully, going to be very funny). As in, my characters themselves are going to create mischief for the poll takers.

For the email portion: I always want to email you via my mailing list once or twice a month about our shenanigans.

I cannot abide this as a barrier of entry. If you say “I like your shenanigans but no” I still want you to be able to enjoy the shenanigans.

Furthering the public research and domain essay portion of this post — if you run a project, you have to meet people where they want to hear about it.

I like emails.

I don’t like messaging apps.

I am wary of social media for every reason you can imagine plus a week-long course I can host of more reasons.

Broad communication styles will help keep us (and your projects) moving forward.

I am explicitly wary of Google’s, hmm, softening, stance on using AI without solid guardrails and will be writing questions accordingly, and will include notes not to give over details about a character or realm (etc) you are protective about in this context.

I love data.

I love polls.

I love ridiculous charts and graphs.
