re: that compromise ask (diff anon but heyyy right there with u) i was literally JUST thinking abt smth similar, about how esp in future/reunion fics, it’s always steve crawling on his knees for forgiveness for how he used to be, and eddie like. heaving a big sigh and “going back on his principles” or whatever to forgive steve. and steve like having to prove he’s better now or whatever which like. fine sure yeah steve was a high school bully. he threw slurs around and he definitely objectified women (although come on it’s high school social strata everyone was objectifying everyone, ain’t none of those babies had enough brain cells yet to see other people as people, that’s just being fucking 16) and he was a bitch, not arguing there.

but like 1) he was fully a child, he was literally a teenager, mike is an asshole too and no one is arguing he can’t possibly grow up or be redeemed, or that he needs to repent to earn love? like it’s one thing in canon era fics where they’re all still growing up, but i haaaaate in future fics when steve is a whole grown ass adult man still expected to grovel for the sins of being 17,

and 2) canonically eddie is the judgmental one??? i mean steve literally apologized and made amends on screen but if that’s not enough look at just purely going off the way the kids interact with them! they’re completely comfortable with steve. yeah he rolls his eyes and huffs and complains about their “nerd shit” but he still drives them to dnd nights! he still does that lame ass handshake with dustin! he still listens to all the stuff they ramble about, and you know he does it every time even when we don’t see it on screen, because they’re totally comfortable doing it! no doubt, no question steve will listen and support them, even when he doesn’t understand. dustin comes to scoops knowing without a doubt that steve will drop everything to listen to him talk about camp, and be excited about it! steve doesn’t give a shit about science camp, but dustin does, and that’s enough for him! yeah dustin is excited to talk about suzie, because girls are common ground with steve, but steve doesn’t know he met suzie when he takes his break, he just wants to hear about how dustin’s nerd stuff was going! he doesn’t have to understand or relate, he just wants them to do the stuff that makes them happy, and they know that. they trust him to listen even if he doesn’t get it

but the way mike and dustin were so nervous to ask eddie to postpone hellfire, even after months of knowing him, shows that they don’t trust him to let them have interests outside of his understanding. and they shouldn’t! he’s proven that he veered so hard into “nonconformity” he just reinforced the same social boundaries he claims to hate. everything with eddie is “us v them,” and like! i get it! i think it’s a complicated dichotomy and makes for an interesting character! i’m an eddie stan first and a person second ok listen i love the man. but if anyone needs to beg on their knees for forgiveness for being a dick in high school, it’s the guy who ruined BOTH of lucas’ favorite activities in one fell swoop by projecting his own insecurities and fake social rivalry onto a literal child. (i’m still so mad he managed to force lucas to miss the campaign finale he’d worked so hard for AND made sure that none of his friends or family were there to watch him play basketball all at once i’m never over it. i’m frothing at the mouth. apologize to lucas or meet my blade)

but there’s this trend where people are like “oh man eddie’s such a good person for looking past king steve and loving steve anyway! he’s rehabbing the jock! he’s fixing him!” fuck you. fix your damn self. the duffers’ childish ass hatred of “non nerds” is sooooo pervasive in this fandom it’s so gross.

oh my god, this is just beautiful. i literally couldn’t put it any better.

i wish we had gotten to see eddie repent for what he did to lucas, because honestly, i still hold it against him.

what’s especially funny to me about it is that steve’s sins (in s4) were over two years ago, eddie’s were last week lmao. like, one of them needs to go around apologising and it’s not steve.

but yeah! the kids have an ease around steve that they don’t around eddie. classic example: all the kids go to steve in s3, not even pretending to be polite or actually ask, and just pound on the bell until he comes to let them through the back of scoops to watch a movie. they don’t worry about his reaction. steve could literally get fired doing this, but they know he’s going to do it, and feel so comfortable that he won’t have a bad reaction, that there isn’t any hesitation.

when asking eddie to postpone a game, mike and dustin are shaking in their little boots. they’re flinching and looking away, and trying not to actually ask. those aren’t kids in the presence of someone comforting!! this isn’t a guy they would think deserves steve begging on his knees. if eddie was being a prick about steve’s past for no reason other than to hold some moral superiority over him, the kids would get pissed off.

if anyone is getting rehabilitated in their relationship, it’s eddie, not steve!! because being a jock isn’t inherently bad, and being a nerd isn’t inherently good, no matter what the duffers may be trying to tell you.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 spoilers.

At first it was denial.

I saw the signs. I saw how he said Never change Dustin Henderson. I saw him say again and again that he’s no hero. I saw him go back to give the others more time. I watched as he lay so close to gone with Dustin holding him and I still didn’t believe it.

Then it was shock.

How the time skip happened and everyone was safely back, out of the upside down. No mention of Eddie from anyone, until Dustin.

Then it changed again, going back and forth between heart wrenching mourning and white hot anger.

I am upset. The kind of upset where your feelings overcome your body and you can’t even stand, your knees giving in beneath you. Crying on the floor. Watching the tears fall onto the ground, inches from your face.

I am upset. The kind of upset where you can’t even hold back the fury. Where nothing will calm you down and you’re shaking and tense, and you just have to feel that feeling with every fibre of your being until it turns back into tears.

I convinced myself that Eddie wasn’t going to die. I read posts saying that Eddie and Jonathan were gonna have scenes next season, they put forward the point that Why would there be so much promotion for a character that wouldn’t even be in the next season?

I couldn’t even enjoy the rest of the episode after that. I couldn’t be excited about Robin and Vickie. I didn’t feel anything when Hopper and Joyce reunited with their kids. I didn’t care that Hawkins was in trouble. Nothing else mattered after that. I felt numb.

Thank you Joe Quinn. For bringing alive a character that I love more than any other I ever have. No other is even close. And fuck you Duffer brothers for absolutely ruining him.

I’m only half serious, because I understand that when you make something and people love it, you’re terrified that one day you’ll fuck it up and all those supporters will turn on you. I know that the Duffers originally didn’t want Eddie to be that likeable, since they planned on killing him. But they didn’t change what they planned even after casting Joe.

And I think what makes me the most angry is that his death wasn’t even a good death.

No one mourned for him. There was no funeral. We don’t even know that much about what happened after. We can assume that they just left his body there, to rot in the upside down. Alone. Forever.

He never got to meet Will. He would have loved him. He would have taken him under his wing and protected him and become a second older brother. He never got to meet El and see her awesome powers in action. He never got to meet Hopper, or Joyce, or Murray or Argyle or Holly or any of the parents or anyone else.

I wanted to see him become part of the group. I wanted to see him interact with the others. What would Hopper have said after taking one look at him? It would’ve made me laugh whatever it would’ve been. I wonder what Eddie would’ve thought of Dustin’s girlfriend Suzie. Did he even know that this girl with superpowers was Mike’s girlfriend???

His name was never redeemed. Everyone still hates him. He never graduated. And no, he didn’t die a hero. His death wasn’t an epic sacrifice like Billy’s was. He died even though the exact same thing happened to Steve and he survived.

His death didn’t feel like it meant anything.

And it should’ve

It could’ve.

If Eddie died it could’ve been him protecting Steve, Nancy and Robin. He reaches the house, saves them but ultimately doesn’t make it. Maybe he makes such a ruckus that Vecna has to find him and kill him himself, giving El and Max more time to save themselves.

If they were planning on it, it could’ve been so. Much. Better.

Duffer brothers you made me fall in love with a show and continue to love it for 6 years. And you ruined it in just under 4 hours.

But even after everything, I still love this show. And I will not stop writing. Eddie Munson you stole my heart and I have no regrets about that.

And I will share this love with every person who reads my work and interacts with my blog who loves him too.

I’ll write Eddie the story he deserves.

(Also I’m sorry I haven’t gotten to your asks yet 😭 I’ll try to answer them soon though!)

Ok, first of all, I'm doing fine, thank you for asking.

As for your ask...

Well, I surely look forward to Ronance being endgame (I know it's probably impossibile, but a man can dream, can't he?).

Oh, and Byler. Byler needs to be endgame, too.

Another thing I look forward to is Steve and Nancy finally having an heart-to-heart and realizing that they simply aren't made for each other romantically (because, say it with me, NANCY DOES NOT WANT SIX NUGGETS), and so they both decide to stay friends.

In this way, Steve will find someone else to realize his dream of having a family with, and Nancy will find someone who truly gets her and makes her happy ( *cough* Robin *cough*).

And in general, I look forward to Nancy being finally freed from this stupid ass love triangle that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

Another thing I look forward to is Max waking up from her coma.

But I also really hope that she won't wake up in the last minute, but on the contrary, that she will be important to the plot, even in her state.

I'm sure the Duffers can find a way to make that happen.

And also, I hope that Erica will be an important part of the team 'cause she's awesome and she deserves it (and I also hope to see more of her bonding with the Party).

And also, if they aren't going to bring Eddie back, I at least hope that Dustin and the others will be able to restore his name to Hawkins and make people understand that he wasn't a monster, but quite the opposite, 'cause it would be fucking awful for Eddie to have sacrificed himself only for Hawkins to still see him as a monster.

He at least deserve a good memory on people's minds.

And also, I know Eduardo has confirmed he won't be returning this season, but I hope Argyle will still get to make an appearance, because I refuse to believe they'll completely throw away his character without even a mention.

Oh, and Kali, Kali needs to return as well.

And I also hope that Suzie will come to Hawkins to help Dustin save the world again.

This way, we'll finally see Dustin and Suzie interact with each other in person, and Suzie will finally be aware of all the Upside Down stuff, and so we will have more content for Duzie shippers.

And also, Jonathan needs to have more importance as a character this season.

And maybe a coming out scene from both Will and Robin, where they tell the others they're gay and immediately gets hugs and support, 'cause they both deserve it.

And finally, another thing I really hope to see in this season are more moments between the Party at complete (Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, El and Max).

And also, I really hope that they won't split up the characters, but that they will all stay together.

And I think that's all.

Damn, I didn't planned this list to be this long.

“Steve?“

“Yeah?”

“Did she just say that we should go to Lover’s Lake?”

“I did in fact hear her say that.” Steve nods as he confirms Dustin’s observation.

“Hm, interesting.” Your brother takes a breath and hoists himself from the back seat, squishing himself in between you and Steve.

“Have you lost your goddamn mind?!” His voice shouts between the two of you and reverberates throughout the car.

“Oh come on, it wasn’t the entire lake.” You defend yourself.

“She’s lost her goddamn mind.” Your brother comes to the conclusion as he falls to his seat in the back.

“No, there’s no way we’re going.”

“Oh come on Stevie,” You attempt to plead your case, effectively pulling a gag from Dustin as you use the pet name on your boyfriend. “Don’t be such a wuss.”

“A wuss?! I nearly died down there!”

“Yeah, but you didn’t.” Your brows raise playfully and you offer your best grin as a tease, hoping it’s convincing enough. His gaze switches back and forth between you and the road, contemplating silently, but you both know he can’t tell you no.

“No. No no no, you can’t be serious.” Dustin starts. “Really, Steve? You’re gonna let her pussywhip you like that?”

“Hey!“ His brows furrowed as he attempted to look back at your brother.

“Hey!” Your voice clashes at the term.

“You guys aren’t even thinking straight! You could get-“ Dustin stutters. “You could get radiation poisoning or something! No way, I’ll jump out of the car right now.” He emphasizes by throwing his bag over his shoulder.

“Calm down, Dustin.” You turn your body to face him. “We’ll just drop you off at the pool instead.” You look at Steve to confirm and he shrugs in agreement.

“Yeah, go talk to Mrs.Wheeler about… radioactive whatever.”

“I can’t believe you guys…radioactive whatever…” Dustin scoffs as he crosses his arms against his chest. “Can you at least drop me off at Mike’s first?”

The rest of the car ride is filled with absentminded conversations about plans for spring break, I’m not babysitting this year, can we have at least one normal break?, Henderson, stop kicking my seat!, no, I’m not taking you to see Suzie, and you hardly register the way the car stops at the familiar house.

“Have fun Henderson! Wear your floaties!” Steve calls out as your brother leaves the car.

“Bye Dusty!”

“Yeah yeah yeah!“ Dustin faces the car while walking backwards towards the Wheeler’s house. “Don’t come back crying when you grow a third leg!”

“Already got one!” Steve retorts quickly. He realizes what he’s insinuated and blushes immediately as he catches the way your own cheeks flush and your eyes grow wide.

“I didn’t-“ Damn it, Harrington.

“Just start driving.” You hide your laugh by watching your brother disappear into the safety of the home.

The radio blares and Steve thumbs the steering wheel in rhythm and you shake your head dramatically as you lean out the window singing, everybody wants to rule the world!

Steve catches the way your bathing suit cover up flutters in the wind, quickly reaching to pull the hem of it down as it threatens to reveal your modesty. “Get back in here,” he grunts as he attempts to pull you back while watching the road. “You’re gonna get hurt!”

“Live a little!” You call out, closing your eyes with a smile as the sun kisses your face. Steve attempts to avoid a pothole and swerves, causing you to yelp as the back of your head collides with the frame of the open window. You slink back in your seat in defeat, reluctant to meet your boyfriend’s cocky smirk.

“C’mhere,” his hand grips the back of your neck as he pulls you closer to him. “That was an accident, I swear.” His lips press into your temple as he continues the drive.

You blush at the intimacy and your chest feels tight at the gesture. Although you and Steve had been dating for almost two months, you still hadn’t explored the realm of physical touch. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to, God, you’re embarrassed by how often you think about it, it’s just that the relationship was still new.

Steve felt the same way, of course. After being close friends for so long and practically adopting your little brother, it was somewhat difficult to expand the boundaries of your relationship. He wanted to make sure he did everything correctly, Steve, why do you have roses? It’s just a first date, because you deserved it.

He would never admit to you that he was somewhat ashamed of his reputation; while rumors may have been true, he wanted a clean slate with you- one that held no connotations or underlying suggestions.

So he had no problem with taking things as slowly as possible, even if it meant you hadn’t shared a first kiss yet.

“We don’t have to go there if you don’t want to, really.. I’m sorry I wasn’t really thinking-“ Your voice pulls him from his trance. You sat in regret as you watched his face grow serious, only then realizing the weight of what you had asked. It had been a year since the gate was opened, and you felt guilty for forcing your boyfriend to confront his fears.

“It’s okay. It might be good to go back, you know? Different circumstances? Might be like, what do they call it? Exposure therapy?” He calms himself as much as he calms you.

Truthfully, he hadn’t given much thought to the place. His mind was preoccupied by other things, like you, since life attempted to return to normal- whatever that looked like.

“Yeah something like that.”

The car bounces as it rolls over the uneven terrain. Lover’s Lake looked exceptionally plain, but the way the water twinkled under the sun was tantalizing. Steve notes the way you sit forward in your seat, practically bouncing with anticipation, and can’t help but smile at your genuine excitement.

You’d never been before. Even in high school when your friends would tease you for declining your then-boyfriend’s advancements, you didn’t understand what was so popular about the secluded lake. Now, however, it screamed the perfect hideaway.

Your feet hit the ground as soon as the car came to a stop, not even caring to grab towels or your bag. The wind kissed your face as you ran, the shouts of your boyfriend falling on deaf ears.

Steve leans against the open door and welcomes the smile that grows against his face. Your joy completely overshadowed his hesitancy, and he was glad to be the one to share this moment with you.

Your cover up whipped against your legs as you ran, prompting you to yank it off in one pull, shortly falling to the sandy earth below. The fabric of your bathing suit clung to the narrowest part of your hips, and your plump backside was essentially bare. Steve happened to watch the whole ordeal- his chest tightened at your uncovered skin and he had to turn around to catch his breath. Get it together, Harrington.

He distracted himself by collecting your things: pool- now lake- bag, towels, cooler, and radio. The car door shut with a slam as he hoisted the bag over his shoulder and made his way to you. Get it together, Harrington, he practically sang in his head as you turned to face him.

“Steve! It’s perfect!” Your smile was radiant, yet he nearly choked on his spit as he watched the way your chest reflected the sunlight, partially covered by thin fabric.

“I thought you said swimming, not skinny dipping!” He yells in your direction after turning away from you, not wanting to ogle at the sight.

“Oh come on,” You laugh as your heels greet the water. “Don’t act like such a virgin, king Harrington!” The laugh that left your lips almost disappeared underneath the sound of the water splashing as you wade through.

“Wait…. unless….” A smirk grows on your lips at your suggestion.

You knew that Steve wasn’t a virgin- it’s not like it was private information- but neither of you had crossed that line yet. Hadn’t crossed any line, actually, to your disapproval.

“Oh shut up, Henderson.” He grumbles as he turns around, disappearing underneath his shirt.

“Nothing you haven’t seen before!” You yell from the water.

“Yeah but, it’s… different!” He decides on a random excuse. ”We’re in public!”

Being in public has only so much to do with it. Of course he was possessive, who wouldn’t be, but it was really the aspect of shame that held him by his neck. Get it together, Harrington, he had to adjust his trunks before facing you. Before having your first kiss.

“Ouch! Hit me where it hurts!” You feign a chest injury, not really offended by his reservations. It’s sweet. He’s sweet, you thought, whistling towards him as he reaches the tide.

“I’m gonna get fuckin’ radiation poisoning or something.” He grumbles before taking the first step.

The feel of the water causes his stomach to churn. Whether it was a lake, a pool, even a bath, he was transported back to that night, unbeknownst to you. Exposure therapy was pulled from his ass, but he secretly hoped his disingenuous excuse would prove somewhat helpful.

You don’t notice the way his body lingers as the lake engulfs his feet- you’re too busy facing the sun as you bob in the water.

He watches you; carefree and relaxed as you float, desperately trying to ignore the fear of a flesh like tentacle dragging you to the depths below. His fingers twitch lightly, and he presses each digit to his thumb as he takes deep, mindful breaths.

Get it together, Harrington.

Ripples of water erupt to the surface as you disappear. Steve’s heart stops in his chest when he loses sight of your neon bathing suit and tendrils of swirling hair. It’s like he had been thrown into the deep end without a life vest.

“Babe? Babe!” He treads through the lake without a second thought, his own fears pushed far into his subconscious. His fingers splayed through the dense water as he pushed himself further out, desperately reaching for remnants of you.

“Fuck!” His voice breaks as he grasps at nothing.

A stream of water to his face intervenes with his despair, and he quickly wipes at his eyes to find you smiling at him with perfectly rounded cheeks.

“Goddamnit, Henderson!“ He splashes in your direction. “You can’t fucking do that to me.” Your smile falters as you watch the way his chest heaves.

“Steve…” Your fingers brush against his bicep and he jerks away at your touch, causing you to swallow in regret.

“You-you can’t do that!” He throws an arm in your direction as he stammers. “You weren’t there that night! You just-“ His head shakes as he attempts to express his disdain.

“You’re right,” you own up to your mistake with sincerity. “I wasn’t there, I’m sorry. That wasn’t cool of me, okay? I’m sorry.” The lake separates you two.

It’s quiet for a moment as he collects himself, guilt ridden over his harsh reaction. Regret weighs in your chest as you admit to your shortcomings.

“Hey” You reach for him as he turns to you, your fingers caressing his face.

“I’m sorry.” Your eyes scan his features. “Don’t hide from me, please. I messed up-“

“It’s not that, it’s just,” His face scrunches as he debates sharing his fears. You watch as his chest expands before quickly deflating with admission. “It could’ve been you, and I just don’t know what I would do if that were the case. It just-” Hazel eyes meet yours, sadness and fear collecting on the waterline; your chest feels like it’s weighted as you take him in.

You had messed up- severely underestimating just how deep his trauma was buried and just how easy it was to unearth it. No apology would be good enough, yet you had to start somewhere.

“C’mon,” the palms of your hands face the sun as you extend them towards Steve, hoping he will accept your olive branch. “Come swim with me.”

He does so reluctantly, but you can’t blame him. His fingers curve into your palms as he allows you to drag him further, not without praise. You’re doing great! There you go, it’s okay. It was just a fish, Steve, I swear. Look at you, sweetheart! Your voice grounded him, keeping him afloat. His frantic eyes grew steady as he watched yours grow tender under your smile.

He felt vulnerable, and he finally understood how you must’ve felt when you had your first nightmare around him. It was uncomfortable, somewhat embarrassing, and yet he felt completely safe as you led him through his fears.

“This okay?” You gently asked through a pant, treading through the water as your feet no longer touched.

He gives the area one more look over before nodding to himself, “Yeah, it’s okay.”

The water kissed his chest, small ripples splashed against his collarbones and neck as you struggled to remain upright. You easily could have if you had your arms to help, but you refused to let go of Steve.

He chuckles as he watches your fight against the lake, relaxing as he finally focuses on you.

“Wow, didn't realize I’d have to give swimming lessons today, too.” He quips at your state, laughing as you spit water out of your mouth.

“So funny, Harrington.” You pant, cautious to swallow more.

Large hands hold onto your ribs as he drags you towards him, your legs automatically circling his waist. You adjust yourself slightly, throwing your arms over his shoulders, fingers connecting behind his neck, before meeting his face.

It’s intimate and nerve wracking, having never been this close before, and you can’t place a name to the feeling that lingers around you.

As much as you want to look away, you can’t.

Blood rushes to your cheeks as he takes you in, his eyes tracing over your features, pausing at your lips, and then returning to you. He was studying you- studying the way your lashes curled together under the weight of water, the way your lips slightly parted as he adjusted you, holding the bottom of your thighs against him, the way your cheeks hide some of your eyes when you smile at him. He could easily scout you out in a crowded room, but it finally felt like he could see you.

His heart pounds in his chest, mirroring yours, as the mysterious force surrounding you presses you into him even further.

Water drips down his back as you raise your hands to gently cradle his face, securing your grip in his wet locks. You weren’t sure what you were doing, but it felt right.

His lips are soft, seemingly melting into your own.

It took him by surprise, that you were the one to initiate the kiss, but he molded into you with ease, tightening his hold on you in the process.

You sigh into him with relief, the weight in your chest growing lighter as your lips press further into his. What started as an innocent gesture quickly gave way to passion as you caught your breaths with open mouths, closing the gap with desperate pecks as you confessed years of unspoken feelings with your lips.

Your foreheads meet as you catch your breath. He watches as you close your eyes and smile, huffing once through your nostrils in content.

The sunlight reflects off of the water and sparkles from below, casting glimmers of light onto your faces, causing you to blink harshly as you scan over each other’s faces- a silent confirmation that everything was okay.

You’d heard horror stories before about how awful your first kiss would be, but you can’t help but chuckle to yourself as the weight of your actions sinks in. It didn’t matter if it wasn’t perfect, granted, it was- but it was with Steve. That’s all that mattered to you.

He hums as you place a final chaste kiss to his cheek, quickly stifling a whine as you press off of him and allow the water to support your body.

He watches the way you splay across the surface of the lake effortlessly, your chest bobbing above the water and your toes wiggling as you balance, basking in your mellow state before challenging himself to follow suit.

Fingertips meet his thumbs as he succumbs to the water; tiny ripples from his movements tap your chin from below, pulling you upright to watch his attempts.

“I thought floating was one of the first things you’re taught in lifeguard training.” You quip, trying to ease some of his reservations. His body begins to bob, hair swirling with random waves, in protest.

“You were saying?” The outline of his nose grows closer as he floats towards you, heart still thundering in his chest as he chooses to trust you and the lake.

The soft smile on your face is involuntary as you watch him test the waters, your heart nearly doubling inside. However much or little he confided in you, you knew how monumental this was for him.

Your fingers intertwine with his, relishing in the warmth of the sun above as you begin to float in tandem.

“You know,” your voice interrupts the serene moment. “You underestimate me.”

“Hm?” His eyes remain closed as he questions you.

“I’d totally destroy vecna with my bare hands if I got the chance.” Your laughs echo throughout the lake.

Okay I'm gonna do college aged headcanons cuz they're fun and middle aged people bore me.

I think everyone will go to college, outside of Hawkins obviously, and I don't think any of them will return to live in Hawkins afterwards. But assuming Hawkins is still intact at this point, I think their parents would all live there still including Joyce and Hopper, so they'd all come back for holidays.

I'd like to think that they all go to college together, but realistically I think Mike and Will would go to a school with good art and creative writing programs, which wouldn't be where the others would end up.

Dustin would go to a school with a good Technology/Engineering program, where Suzie would also attend. I think Lucas would study something in STEM and Max probably a social science, maybe sociology. El would study a social science for sure, probably child psychology.

So I'll say that Dustin, Suzie, and Lucas would all end up at the same school. And Will, Mike, El, and Max all together at a different school.

Will and Mike would be roommates in college, as would El and Max, and Dustin and Lucas. Dustin and Lucas would come visit the others often and crash in their dorms, even if the school was far from them, they'd road trip. Suzie comes a few times but usually she's too busy because she works as a research assistant in a lab and is taking an insane course load.

Mike and Will are together, but they're only out to the party and their families. They're happy. They share a small dorm and they pushed their twin sized beds together, but there's a gap in between that Mike always complains about falling into. And when Will suggests, "Well you could just stay on your side of the bed," Mike is incredibly affronted that Will would even suggest such a thing. (I am a clingy Mike truther.)

Don't get mad at me guys, but although I do love the idea of Elumax (with Lucas and El platonic because El is a lesbian) I like the idea of Lumax and El finding another girlfriend more. I think El-he's-my-first-boyfriend Hopper would go on dates with lots of girls in college, trying to figure out what it is that she wants in a relationship. I think she'd unintentionally be a little bit of a heartbreaker. But eventually she'd find the right girl and they'll be super happy. Also while she's dating around, Max (bi icon) respectfully gives her opinions of the girls. Max and El respect women.

Lumax are long distance in college, but as I said Lucas visits often, and when he does he crashes in Max and El's dorm while Dustin crashes in Mike and Will's. Lucas also likes to hear about El's girlfriends so the three of them stay up and gossip like it's a sleepover. They taught Lucas how to braid hair.

Will and El hang out a lot, they both like to have time alone together. Mike always wants to tag along, and Will can never tell him no, but El can and she does. They do all hang out together frequently, but the sibling hangouts are sacred to El.

Mike and El are actually close now that they can be honest with each other. They love each other a lot and they're still physically affectionate, hugs, etc.

But when Will and El hang out alone, that leaves.... my favorite.... MIKE AND MAX BESTIES!!! Reluctantly at first, they start hanging out and end up really bonding. They talk about sexuality struggles, their tendency to push people away, etc. They still argue a lot and have a very sarcastic teasing relationship. They're hilarious to watch interact because their banter is never-ending and they're both very witty.

Lumax are completely, head over heels in love. They talk on the phone every night, and when Lucas comes to visit they spend every minute together and go on lots of movie dates. But as always, they aren't huge on PDA and they aren't as lovey dovey as say... Will and Mike. Or El and her girlfriend of the week. Or Dusty Bun and Suzie Poo.

Dustin and Suzie are gross. Sweet, but gross. PDA like crazy. Always PG, but it still makes Lucas roll his eyes. Though he really is happy for them. He just misses Max a lot of the time.

That is all I can think of right now. Well, that's a lie but I need to cut this off somewhere.

I feel like ppl need to understand when we are criticizing/ranting about ppl who compare byler to other non-canon mlm ships that most of us aren’t necessarily hating those ships themselves and most of us actually ship/shipped those ships as well but it’s the fact that we can differentiate between a ship that had little to no viability in the show (aka, the show was already obviously set up for f/m couples, it’s clear the mlm ship wouldn’t become canon, queerbaiting was used deliberately by creators and actors) and just because the creators/actors of show don’t mind mlm ships of their characters and encourage fan creations such as fan art doesn’t mean it’s going to be canon either. like you really need to sit down and actually look at the material being put in front of you instead of going off of gifsets/edits catered to your ship. are you actually being given canon material that makes sense for those two characters to actually be in love when they’re also being given straight love interests that work well? where it’s obvious they have feelings for one another? where their love story is being built up? this is where I draw the line between byler and other ships like this that it’s constantly compared to. mike and el are continuously shown to have relationships problems and are technically already canon? they aren’t having their love story “built up” it’s being brought down and being shown for what is really is. phony. fake. forced conformity. meanwhile mike and will’s relationship is what’s being built up, it’s not treated like other friendships within the show, it’s treated differently for a reason. it’s getting the classic love interest treatment in every other fucking show in the world, people just don’t wanna admit to it. maybe because it’s two younger boys they can’t fetishize, maybe it’s because it’s two boys in general and it’d be ridiculous for the duffers to cater to “the gays” even tho byler follow every detail of the trope for a well written childhood friends to lovers story. maybe it’s because people genuinely think milkvan is a good couple even tho they’re the worst written relationship in the show, and dustin and suzie have yet to even interact irl yet and they’re somehow better than mike and el. maybe it’s because reddit bros literally can’t comprehend that stranger things was never written for them in the first place. maybe it’s because Harry Potter millennials have let themselves be queebaited multiple times even when they were told to their faces their ships would never become canon and laughed at by the creators of their favorite show/book/movie. which is back to where we started. it’s not our fault you let yourself actually become disillusioned by ships you convinced yourself would be canon even though the source material never supported it and in one case (d3sti3l) only happened purely for fanservice and nothing more.

Argyle’s Gay Symbolism

Truly my craziest theory by a landslide-- hope y'all get a good chuckle

Just based off of Argyle as a character what do we know?

A) He wears colorful, bright clothes and wears rainbow socks to showcase his bold personality

B) He is very go-with-the-flow and is open to new experiences. Hence “try before you deny”

C) He is authentically himself and doesn’t hide his personality no matter who he’s dealing with (example: him acting like himself in suzie’s home)

Now let’s think ab this in a queer way:

L) Wears every color of the rainbow at all times (right down to his feet)

G) Doesn’t shy away from experimenting. Hence “try before you deny”

B) Refuses to hide who he is because he has pride in who he is.

Argyle is quite frankly the embodiment of homosexuality.

So let’s look at all of Mike + Argyle interactions with the knowledge of Argyle represents homosexuality

Mike isn’t being his authentic self— Argyle points out he’s wearing a shitty knockoff shirt by bringing him into a hug. Notice how the only piece of clothing Mike wears that really sticks out is his sun visor…the sun visor’s pattern is similar to Argyle’s clothes….the gay coded sun visor is on his head…homosexuality is on the mind 🤯

The embodiment of homosexuality is pointing out Mike can try to hide his true self, but no matter what he will always have homosexual thoughts and feelings.

Also, Argyle (the embodiment of homosexuality) hugs Mike to make him feel awkward after not hugging Will. This further solidifies that Mike can try to act "straight", but his homosexuality is going to get in the way of that.

The kids are all upset, but Mike’s super super angry because Will didn’t tell him ab El’s bullying and because of Will’s moping. Mike’s deflecting his anger towards Will by telling himself he’s angry at El for purposefully schmacking Angela. When Argyle (homosexuality) points out the attack could’ve been worse, Mike rolls his eyes. Argyle starts singing a circus melody just repeating “Blip”.

The embodiment of homosexuality sings a taunting song, shoving in Mike’s face he can’t act like he’s angry at El for the “blip” when he’s really pissed at Will for not talking to him.

This is the third time Mike’s had a problem with Argyle. During this scene, besides straight up disagreeing with him, Mike and Argyle have different opinions on the risotto. Argyle was slurping that shit up and called it delicious multiple times, and Mike is literally the only character to not be shown chewing/eating it. Mike doesn’t like the risotto…Argyle loves the risotto…human embodiment of homosexuality loves the risotto but the boy who's dealt with internalized homophobia hates it. Something’s gay with the risotto!! When El leaves, Murray says he senses tension and if everyone hates the risotto. Literally the only person who wasn’t eating it was Mike, and Murray picking up on him not eating the gay risotto because he’s pissed at Will explains his comment on sexual experimenting later.

Argyle freaking out over burying dead soldier man = Mike’s homosexuality freaking out over burying his gay feelings. Dead soldier man= burying feelings (here’s the post by @stranger-chichka who made this brilliant connection). Also note how when he's yelling in Mike's face about finding El he calls her his super girlfriend... wonder who else views her like this... and the only thing that calms Argyle down is the Purple Palm Tree Delight. Purple= melvin because of st color theory, but I just found this from a legitimate site

Purple (melvin) Palm Tree (being different and long-term-goals) Delight. PPTD literally represents what Mike truly wants— to be unashamed ab being gay and to be with El platonically!!!!!! The embodiment of homosexuality smokes some queer, anti-melvin weed to calm his nerves ab burying Mike's homosexual feelings!!!!!!

And then Argyle makes it a point to not hide unknown soldier, and Mike’s the only one that has a problem with that. HUMAN EMBODIMENT OF HOMOSEXUALITY DOES NOT LET MIKE HIDE/BURY HIS GAY FEELINGS!!!

This post by @howtobecomeadragon points out how freaking uncomfortable Mike was in Suzie's house compared to Argyle even though Mike specifically told Argyle not to be himself. Mike tells the person who is the embodiment of homosexuality to not be themself... y'all this is clearly Mike telling himself not to be himself (aka gay). And Argyle is always authentically himself, he can't cover up who he is and doesn't want to; no matter how hard Mike wants to cover up his homosexuality, he can't because it's just a part of who he is.

Also, to tie in the PPTD basically being gay weed, who does Argyle fall in love with and smoke it with? Literally the most queer-coded minor character in the show. You cannot convince me Eden is straight; she is so queer-coded, and her flirting with the embodiment of homosexuality and smoking gay weed further solidifies that.

Argyle (embodiment of homosexuality) interrupts Mike and El on the verge of breaking up (as shown by the mood turning somber and Mike stuttering through "I've been thinking about the last fight we had, and I just wanted to say that--") with a pineapple pizza, and Mike throws a hissy-fit against it.

The pineapple pizza represents experimenting sexually, considering it's fruity and is paired with the catchphrase "Try Before You Deny". Mike is interrupted before telling El he's sorry for not saying I love you with exactly what's causing this inability-- his homosexual feelings for Will. And Mike is rejecting the pizza before he's even tried it because he is scared of change and trying new things as seen in s3. He knows he likes Will and has known for a really long time, but the idea of changing their dynamic from best friends to more scares him. He knows he's gay, but is scared of that changing his life and how his loved ones view him.

And the final shot between these two is Argyle (human embodiment of homosexuality) putting Mike in a chokehold to force him into eating the fruity pizza (sexual experimenting) even though he's v against it. Mike's homosexual tendencies have him in a chokehold y'all! And this chokehold that homosexuality has on him makes him open to experimenting.

But ya know what's really the final moment between these two?!? Will watching this happen and hearing Mike say, "No, you're right. It's good". Mike likes the pineapple pizza!!!! He's been so adamantly against Argyle and his fruity ways throughout s4, but once he opened up to them, he enjoys it!! He likes boys (more specifically Will)!!!! Throwing in El feeding him the pizza... El is supportive of Mike being gay and would encourage it, after all, she takes a bite of the fruity pizza too ;)

Now that we've gotten through this crazy train, I need to say this. ARGYLE IS OBVIOUSLY MORE THAN THE EMBODIMENT OF HOMOSEXUALITY! This was all made in good fun, and if you take this seriously, then please think of all this as symbolism because that's all it is. Argyle is literally a cool-ass dude who is an amazing friend for Jonathan, and I will not accept his character being minimized just for byler breadcrumbs. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Like when someone shows somebody it in an argument/interaction/whatever and it makes you go "noo wtf not that please" 😭 I think for me it's that one part in the infamous byler slides where there's a koala/bear in between mike and El and that represents will.

oh my god youre gonna get me canceled theres so so many i think are insane and dont believe in at all lmao. the masterdoc is fun but theres so much i think wasnt intentional. and so much of what i see here i think is a stretch.

bouta break my silence and come out as an anti believer in so many popular theories on here… no one be mad at me

dont think mike had a letter for will in his pocket in s4 (im SORRY but that wouldve been addressed)

dont think the tracks being different and youre the heart are connected in any way or supposed to be played together they dont sound good or seamless together at all

dont think mike walking into the school newspaper room for nancy and looking around was him looking at guys and gay panicking at all

hate the sauna test theory. they walked in on a bunch of gross naked wrinkly old men theyre not gay panicking?? maybe if they were conventionally attractive young guys but no. i think the masterdoc argues that mike looks down in shame bc hes thinking about his future self as a gay man but i dont believe in that at all tbh. i also dont think that zoom in on the men sign had anything to do with byler it was just an establishing shot of where they were.

not sold on lucas’ new coke speech being related to byler (the seating arrangement in that scene tho was definitely intentional)

i dont think at alll that mikes break down on hopper in s2 yelling “liar liar liar” had anything to do with internalized homophobia. i dont think he ever thought about his sexuality before s3

i think a lot of the times we’ve seen the colors of a certain sexualitys flag has been unintentional. something specifically pointed out like the rainbow ship for will probably was but a background character somewhat close to mike wearing colors that vaguely resemble the bi flag? or the lighting on his shirt kinda looking like the mlm flag? i dont think thats intentional at all. when they do symbolism shit like that its much more obvious (framing mike in the closet)

this one im actually on the fence about because it would be really cool, theres just one word that makes me second guess it. the idea that the girl fake choking at suzie’s house and the dad freaking out was foreshadowing of mikes monologue. on some levels it makes sense but the way the kid said “your terror it looked genuine” kinda makes it seem like it would be implying that mike wasnt actually scared for els life in that moment which i dont like at all. if he had said “your performance” instead i would be 100% sold

i dont believe in most the s1 byler theories. i do think they had the idea of byler in mind from the beginning but at that point they didnt even know if theyd be renewed so i dont think they prioritized anything that could foreshadow byler. i think the lack of romantic tension with mike and el in comparison to jonathan and nancy is telling, but i dont think there was anything in that season relating to mikes sexuality or feelings for will, both because of logistics and prioritizing mlvn for the first season, and because they had TWO SCENES TOGETHER

also dont believe in flickergate as much as i love the idea of it it would break the rules of the universe that theyve already established. the upside down isnt actually in the past its a place frozen in time. things happening there dont affect the past.

theres definitely more but those are the ones i can think of rn.

Duzie! They are precious.

So. I definitely think Suzie is a much better fit for Dustin than Max. I think Max would have just gotten annoyed with him. And Max, as much as I love her, can definitely be on the prickly side sometimes, and Dustin wouldn't really temper that so much as provoke it. Suzie can keep up with Dustin intelligence-wise. I'm not saying the other kids aren't smart, but Dustin's knack for figuring things out before everyone else is kind of puts him out socially. And while everyone else is trying to catch up, Dustin gets impatient, and comes off as an asshole. So it only makes sense for him to have someone who not only keeps up with him, but actually outstrips him in many respects.

Dustin loves his friends, but you don't hear him going around saying "Mike is so smart" or "Steve is so smart" (Okay, I named the two worst characters for this scenario. Bear with me). He's not one to dole out random compliments. So for Suzie to make enough of an impression on him for him to compliment her out of the blue is significant. I think it just goes to show that when Dustin's in your corner, he's in. your. corner. 100%.

In season 5, I hope they can put Suzie to some use. I'd love to see her and Dustin actually interact onscreen. I'm picturing a scene where Suzie gets to Hawkins (somehow, who knows if or how they'd actually do that), and sees Dustin, calls his name. And they immediately start making out. And the rest of the group just stands, open-mouthed. I'm giggling just thinking about the comic value.

They're precious, like I said. I wish Dustin all the happiness. Especially after this past season. He needs some extra TLC.

Wax and Wane Sneak Peek ("Break and Mend" Sequel)

A/N: HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, BABES!! Yes, it is I, Sun. I have returned from... hibernation. Or whatever I've been doing to cause this hiatus. Believe it or not, I actually have been writing. As of rn, I am two chapters away from finishing Wax and Wane. Just need to edit and then you all will have your weekly updates.

It would've been so cool if I posted the first chapter today since... y'know... season 3 takes place on the 4th, but... that didn't end up happening. SO! Instead, I decided to give y'all a sneak peek of Chapter Two! I would've chosen something from Chapter One, but Dustin is hardly in it, so I wanted a whole Party interaction to show y'all what I've been working on.

Just a heads up, there is a hetero relationship between Doc and Will, that will change throughout the story, since there was confirmation of his sexuality. I know I've said that many times, but I just thought it needed to be said again. Anyway! Good to be back! Love you all and enjoy!

Sneak Peek

When Dustin had told the lot of them that they needed to set up his Cerebro, they didn’t think they’d need to hike. Mike and El had long since passed the equipment they held off to Max and Lucas. This was just so their hand-holding wouldn’t be interrupted. This also meant the two of them would be less tuckered out than the rest of the group. Dustin happily and excitedly led them all up a very, very high hill. The trip wouldn’t have been as tiresome had the sun not been beating down on them and their arms not being weighed down by the equipment.

“Dustin, I think I’ll drop dead soon.” Doc groaned. Just like her friends, she was beginning to sweat through her clothes. Though, she feared more for her outfit than anyone did theirs. It was brand-spanking new, a lavender shirt tucked into a brown corduroy mini skirt. Brenda picked it out especially for her and she was excited to wear it for the special occasion, but now she was sure she’d have to worry about sweat stains.

“Just hold out, we’re almost there.” He looked back at her with an encouraging smile.

“Aren’t we high enough?” Lucas huffed out.

“Cerebro works best at a hundred meters.”

Max sighed. “You know, I’m pretty sure people in Utah have telephones.”

“Yeah, but Suzie’s mormon.”

“Oh, shit.” Lucas widened his eyes. “She doesn’t have electricity?”

“That’s Amish, Lucas.” Doc corrected.

“Oh.”

“Then what are Mormons?” Will questioned.

“Super religious white people. They have electricity and cars and stuff, but… since I’m not Mormon, her parents would never approve.”

Doc frowned a bit. “Awe, I’m sorry, Dust.”

“Nah, it’s alright. It’s all a bit… Shakespearean.”

“Shakespearean?” Max raised a brow.

“Yeah. Like Romeo and Juliet.”

“Right.”

“Star-crossed lovers.”

“I got it.”

From a few feet behind them, Mike’s voice called out, “Hey, guys!” and they all turned around to see the great distance between them. “This is fun and all, but, uh…” He tapped his watch to indicate the time.

“I have to go home.” El explained.

“We’re almost there.” Dustin frowned.

“Sorry, man,” Mike shrugged. “Curfew.”

And with that, El clasped hands with Mike and giddily followed him back down the hill. The Party watched them with narrowed eyes and shaking heads as Dustin checked the time. “Curfew at four?”

“They’re lying.” Lucas informed.

“It’s been like this all summer.” Will shook his head again.

“It’s romantic.” Max shrugged.

“It’s gross.”

“It’s bullshit,” Dustin cut in with a sad tinge to his voice. “I just got home.”

Doc watched the couple scamper through the grass without a care or thought to how their friends would feel about them ditching their time together. And while Doc was unaware of how much room she did not have to talk, she knew that nothing would pull her away from their day dedicated to Dustin. No friends, mall, pool or boy could keep her from that.

Turning her head, she gave Dustin a one-shoulder shrug and a smirk. “Well, their loss. They won’t get to see Cerebro in action and they won’t get to meet Suzie, right?”

At that, a smile slowly graced the Henderson boy’s face. It was small and a bit trying, but it was a smile nonetheless. “Right. Onwards and upwards!” He cocked his head farther up the hill. “Suzie awaits!”

Max and Lucas threw their heads back with groans before following Dustin. Doc chuckled and adjusted the equipment in her arms, jogging a bit to catch up with them. Will was about to be right behind her, but he felt it again.

At first, it was the goosebumps. He reached behind his neck to feel the prickling there. But that presence that he felt at the mall was back. It had never really left, it just lingered all the other times. Now, though, it was here with them. It was somewhere hiding within the grass or maybe it was right in front of him and he just couldn’t see it.

“Will! Come on!” Doc called from farther up the hill. With a start, he flinched and turned around, running up the hill and catching up with them. Grinning brightly, Doc grabbed hold of his hand and continued their hike to Suzie.

You know what's interesting, every season in stranger things, everything happens in the span of like 3-5 days. We start off good, shit hits the fan midway, and then a quick wrap up at the end.

I would like for there to be other normal moments like in other shows where we get to see them have more interactions that doesn't involve being stressed tf out, where we see their families, and how they treat each other. Where we see them go out, and actually hang out without any drama.

Like I want to see El trying different meals, and learning different words, and playing board games with Hopper and the kids, etc. I want to see her and Mike actually go out on dates, want to see her friendship develop more with the boys, make actual conversation that doesn't involve anything to do with whatever danger pops up. I want to see it, not just see her suffer, and be at the brink of an aneurysm with the constant nose bleeds. Let my girl be normal, like I think the only time we see her actually going out, and happy was with Max at their shopping spree, and the snowball dance. Let me see more Damnit.

I want to see Hop working, and counting down the hours until he goes home, his interaction with Flo is so cute. I want to see him talking to Joyce that doesnt include any conversation about the government, and whatever else. I just want them to be happy for fucking once, and chill. Want to see the hopper family going to eat with the Byers family.

I want to see Will draw, and hang out with his family, have more cute moments with Jonathan. I want to see how he copes with everything, how he distracts himself. I want to see his friendship with Lucas and Dustin more, and I want to see him interact with El, and Max more, like actually talk talk. Let my boy play Dungeons and Dragons, fuck. He got hit with something so traumatic, went through it TWICE. If I were him I'd feel like my innocence, my childhood got wiped out, and I would've clung on to whatever made me feel normal, and young before everything as well.

I want to see Nancy, and Mike actually hang out as sibilings, and joke around, bickering like sibilings do. I want to see how she developed her love for journalism, want to see her ambitions go through, want to see her dates with Jonathan, her relationship with Steve afterwards. (I'm a big Jancy and Stancy fan, but my OTP when it comes down to it, between them, is all of them together because it just fits, for me.)

I want to see Steve actually interacting with the kids besides what we see on the show, like the mother hen personality developing more. I want to see how his reputation had dimmed down more outside, how he realized that it wasn't the same after the first season. I want to see Robin's interaction with the other kids, want to see her hang out with them as the cool aunt because let's be honest if Steve is the mom, Robin would be the cool aunt.

I want to see Max and her mom's connection, want to see her life behind the curtains where she actually has good moments, want to see the group hangout watching her skateboard, and fuck, I would love to see Max teach El how to skate. I want to see more of Lucas, and Max. Want to see them go out on dates, want to see all the break ups they had lol.

I'm dying for more sibiling content between Lucas, and Erica. DYING FOR IT. I want to see the small moments, the sweet ones, the protective ones. I want to see him get hit with the realization that his little sister is a hidden nerd, want to see him get shocked when he sees her in action.

I want to see Dustin doing little experiments, want to know more about his family. I want to see him and Suzie interact more, and have cute little moments. Actually I would love to have more scenes including their parents, more of a relationship, and more dialogue.

I want to see Jonathan doing photography again, want to see him go out just for the fuck of it to take pictures with no stress. I want to see more, you know?

Like for example in The Vampire Diaries, sure we have the drama and problems, but we also get to see more outside of it, and see them be friends outside of the danger that lurks, and that is only what is shown on TV.

I want more. That's why I love ST fanfiction, I get to "see" more of it, and it's so cute, however I'd like to actually see it on TV if you know what I mean.

Ok here’s my complete opinions on stranger things 4 which no one asked for but I’m going to give anyway (spoilers ahead obvi)

I never thought that one of my favourite things would be the new characters but I really did like all of them I was sad when Chrissy and Fred died, Argyle was fucking hilarious and it was nice to se Jonathan interact with someone who wasn’t Nance and I even liked Jason despite his assholery

Obviously Eddie was also a great addition, very compelling character who had really nice conversations with the others

Plot wise I thought this season was really good, especially the Hawkins group and I thought that the way they played on actual hysteria about DND that was around in the 80s was really clever

The horror this season was also great and genuinely terrifying so props

I will say El’s plot was my least favourite but I tend to prefer characters with other characters so her being solo most the season was a little disappointing

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion but I really did like the California group. Jonathan’s a character who’s at his best when he’s with his family and Will and Mike were well Will and Mike. I will say they were very under-utilised though, like they didn’t even show up in the last episode.

Seeing Suzy back honestly made me so happy for no reason, that whole sequence was just so fun

Lumax were the mvps of the season. Lucas actually getting development and screen time and Max’s plot the entire season but ESPECIALLY episode was wonderful

Also the Kate Bush sequence was the best of the season I think we can all agree

I also really liked Nancy and Robin! They were a fun little duo and I really didn’t expect to enjoy them as much as I did

Joyce, Murray and Hoopers plot was also way more enjoyable than last season so I was very happy about that

Now for things I didn’t like that much!

As mentioned earlier I really wish the California plot line wasn’t so sidelined

As a Byers family enthusiast it is genuinely so annoying to see them being paid dirt despite their impact on the plot most importantly Will who felt like he didn’t do anything this season

I’m really sad they just gave all the lab kids the same powers, like it makes sense but Kalis illusions were so interesting and I just wish it wasn’t all telekinesis

Also the fact that all of them are dead is just ugh idk I know no one liked the kali episode in season 2 but I wish the other kids did something relevant (besides 1 obvi)

My biggest gripe of this season was Steve and Nancy, I genuinely don’t understand the need to reignite the love triangle, let Nancy be happy, let Steve move on and let Jonathan be relevant Jesus

It’s just so tiring at this point, Nancy and Jonathan having problems is fine especially when their problems were caused by Jonathan’s messy past (in general I feel like Lonnie and the Byres situation isn’t paid enough attention but that’s a problem with the whole show, not just this season)

But Steve moved on from Nancy and now he likes her again!? Unless this is a bait and switch I really don’t like it.

Another issue is Billy. Imma be honest I’ve hated Billy since season two but the fact that his abusive and racist behaviour is just not addressed much just bugs me

Like max mentioned it in her letter too him but I feel like the fact that he actually sucked and the complications about that in regards to his death wouldve been really interesting

All in all a solid season, good music, amazing cinematography but just a few issues imo

Nintendo theory 2.0: how Mike & Will's lie about Nina Project being a video game console aka America's answer to Nintendo aka Americantendo is a coded Byler foreshadowing

We know that the games are Mike and Will's thing. DnD is their love language (credits to @howtobecomeadragon). But Nintendo also represents their relationships (read my and @nadia-zahra's Nintendo theory to understand this post better). While visiting Suzie so she could help the boys in finding the location of Nina Project they lie to her by telling they're actually looking for the location of a new video game console.

We see Mike & Will consoling Lucas, but Nintendo (well, Americantendo) is a gift for Dustin's birthday and we don't have any interactions with Mike, Will and Dustin this season at all. I suppose in s5 El focuses on Max and is going to spend more time with Lucas while Will & Mike focus on Dustin and his trauma after Eddie's death + we are oblivious to how it affected Mike, but they'll definitely are going to deal with it together, and Will is gonna console them.

America = Mike in this context, because patriotism is associated with the Wheelers. "We're all patriots in this house."

2 days. Each day 10 bucks. Another week = 7 days. 3 000 miles = +-46 (4+6 = 10) hours or 2 days. Spring break (which lasts one week = 7 days).

Goddamn Nintendo and Duck Hunt (is it a reference to Alexei?) A new video game console.

Burn in hell -> Hellfire -> DnD -> games -> Byler

Stupid = love, because " Only love makes you that crazy, sweetheart. And that damn stupid" and "Hey, Will. If we go crazy, we go crazy together, right?"

"love" is "evol" backwards. Almost "evil". Hellfire and other DnD clubs are compared to evil by Jason. But also evol is commonly used as an abbreviation for "evolution" (the gradual development of something). Mike and Will's relationships evolve throughout seasons from friends to...lovers in s5?

" - What if you wanna join another party? - Not possible."

"It's 16-bit." 1+6=7.

Is it Mike's response to Will's "It was a 7" coded love confession? 7 is L turned upside down. L in "The First I love You" is not capitalised when it plays during Milkvan scene in s3. "It's basically America's answer to Nintendo," right????? + Erica tells capitalism is the thing she loves the most in America. Capitalised and capitalism. I guess it's called wordplay, but I may be wrong. That's what Dusting likes to do. Demogods. Watergate. Bat-tle. Again, It's about Mike and his feelings, where L is capitalised. He didn't sign none letter for El with "Love, Mike" but maybe that's how he signed the one for Will? Love with capital L.

"It's top secret" (Mike about his feelings toward Will) and "Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds." It's Suzie who was singing these lines in that exact room our Cali gang is with Dustin on the hill they're standing in at the end of s4. And someone mentioned that "Without heart, we'd all fall apart" rhymes.

And Dustin already knows the location. He 1) is a compass genius; 2) wears a "KNOW WHERE" cap for almost the whole s3 + the shirt with a compass and a t-shirt that says "don't bug me, I'm reading" where reading = understanding (credits to @bylrndgm); 3) a "THINKING CAP" with 2 lightning bolts (=electricity=love) in s4. Mike says they are looking for the location of the console to give it to Dustin on his birthday. Dustin's birthday is May 29, 1971 -> 05/29/1971 -> 5+2+9+1+9+7+1 = 34 -> 3+4 = 7.

+ this scene with Erica and the Scoop Troop asking her helping to open the door (Mike being in the closet symbolism) is worth your attention if you haven’t seen it.
