when miles first saw you, he knew that he was smitten.

you were just perfect with your dark curls and your bright, glowy makeup...the dark pink lip gloss that shone against your gorgeous two-toned lips...yeah, he was done for.

he watched you for a while before mustering up the courage to even talk to you. he'd sit at lunch with a couple of his friends and as they would talk to him, he would be completely zoned out, too focused on the way you looked so pretty sitting at your lunch table with your friends, head drawn back as you laughed at someone's joke

he couldn't help but stare. you were pretty, and he knew this, but he was upset by the fact that other people knew it too. but he couldn't really be jealous because you weren't even his

...yet.

miles was determined to have you 100%.

but he never found the courage to talk to you. he would wake up in the mornings and convince himself he could do it, that he wouldn't embarrass himself, and then go to school and literally not say a word to you.

he knew it was getting bad when he'd ask mrs. morales to go to football games every single friday, no matter how far away they were. she just wanted her son to get out a little so she'd say yes, but little did she know, he was going for you.

you were a cheerleader, so miles would drive however far just to sit in the lop lefthand corner with his sketchbook cracked open, pencil dancing gently against the pages as he drew you in all types of positions-- smiling, cheering, touching your hair-- he'd draw you in any way he saw you move.

eventually, you picked up on the fact that you saw miles all the time, even when you weren't in school. but your own fantasies began to stir when you caught him staring at you one day as you got up to throw your lunch trash away

he was glancing at you, and he was doing it hard. so you shot him a sweet wave and smile, and he immediately shot you one back

he was cute. very cute. and you didn't even know him, but you started to develop a small crush on him

your passes through the hallways weren't by coincident. miles rerouted his entire way to get to each class just so he could see you for five seconds. but those five seconds were so enjoyable and made his heart melt, so he didn't even mind the extra walking

this went on for months. this man had filled up an entire sketchbook with your face, and he knew that he needed to do something because there were only a couple months left of school, and the only thing you guys have exchanged is a wave, a smile, and a spare pencil.

which, when you offered him the pencil in art class, he literally acted like it was his prized possession. it was a baby blue color with a light pink tip, and it actually smelled so much like you. he felt a little embarrassed by how happy he was about it, but he would find himself placing the item under his nose when he needed to focus on something

eventually, more months passed, and you were starting to think that he didn't really want you, he just liked looking at you. looking at your frilly skirts and pink sweaters, your chunky doc martens, your shiny black curls and your pearly dangling earrings. but your mind quickly changed when he came up to your locker one day, palms sweating and voice cracking as he finally spoke to you

"hi...um, y/n, is it?"

he played dumb, as if he hadn't been watching you for months. but you just went along with it and introduced yourself with a smile, and for a minute, he just stared at you and didn't say a word, until you gave him an inquisitive look.

"miles, everything alright?"

"s-sorry, yeah...i just wanted to, um..say hi?"

it honestly comes out like a question, but you giggle at his attempt to charm you

your conversation is short lived until days pass, and miles finds himself growing more and more comfortable about talking to you.

you even invited him over to your table for lunch, which utterly shocked him because the people you sat with were like...random

as in it was a random assortment. some jocks, some art friends, some musicians..

he was grinning from ear to ear when you invited him to come sit directly next to you. your thighs were touching his and he was freaking out inside because your skin was on his, and although it was subtle, he could still feel it and the contact made him happy.

he was infatuated with you. wherever you went he couldn't help but want to follow because your presence was so warm and welcoming

after what felt like years, he finally asked you for your phone number. he became full with greed-- seeing you at school wasn't even close to enough, he wanted to be talking to you or be with you at all times.

you obviously gave him your number by writing it on a pink sticky note, signing your name under it in cursive with a heart drawn at the end. he admired your handwriting, he's never seen someone write so beautiful, and he placed that sticky note in his journal that really was just a museum of you

anything you gave him he kept. gum wrappers, pencils, sticky notes, little trinkets and gifts-- he kept it ALL.

one night, he was up late texting you and literally grinning at his phone so very hard...he just loved talking to you.

miles: You awake?

you: mhm, can't sleep :( why are you still up?

miles: I dunno, can't sleep either I guess. Why are you up?

you: why not?

you replied to a message: and i'm up just thinking about stuff...my mind won't let me fall asleep :/

miles: I get that! I actually can't sleep either because of that reason

you: oh? whatcha thinking about?

miles: You.

his text honestly threw you for an entire loop and a half. he had finally said something to indicate your feelings for you, and you were literally geeking so hard about it

once he knew you felt the same way, your texting sessions became more frequent, and way longer. he eventually got a hold of your social medias and would check them so often it was borderline unhealthy

he snapped you throughout the day, never left you on opened or delivered without reason. unless it was for spider-man stuff...which, you had yet to know about until you both finally planned a picnic date.

you got all cute, hair done up and makeup flawless, clad in a flowy, long skirt and a white crop top with accented sleeves.

you were literally walking out of the front door until you got a text from miles, apologizing for the inconvenience that he wouldn’t be able to make it. you were so bummed out, you found a tear leaving your eye and you walked back to your room, disappointed.

miles was literally crumbled at the fact that he had to miss your date, your first one at that. so he wanted to make it up to you.

he quickly finished up his patrol work and threw himself back into his house, quickly saying hi to his mother before showering and getting dressed, spraying on cologne and grabbing his wallet and keys.

“mijo, where are you going?”

“out! te quiero, i’ll be back!”

mama rio obviously picked up on the fact that he was seeing a girl, but she just kept it to herself as miles flew out the door, running to the closest flower shop, and then apartment and knocking on the door. he expected you to answer, but your father did instead, causing him to literally shrink in his own skin as he said hello to him.

he was scared that your father didn’t know who he was until he said “you must be my daughter’s boyfriend!”

“oh— boyfriend? i-“

he was very quickly dragged inside your home. he conversed with your parents for a while as they welcomed him, and he eventually found himself at your room’s door with your flowers clasped in his palms, which were sweating with anxiety.

you told him to come in, and your sadness was lifted as he gave you a smile and a wave, handing you the flowers. and you were so ecstatic that you kissed his cheek, and he swore he almost died inside.

he took you to a rooftop and you had your picnic there, where he held you in his arms as you admired the night sky, until he pulled one of your curls behind your ear as you laid in his chest.

“y/n…can i…can i be your boyfriend?”

it was so random and unexpected, but you whispered to him with a smile,

“yes.”

believe it or not, ellie is the best partner you could have to live with. she is the perfect girlfriend to share a home with for obvious reasons.

you both never fight. ellie’s the kind of person who can’t go to bed without solving with you the problems you may have had during the day. however, those problems are usually insignificant and with ellie by your side they will never become more serious than they are, since she’s always willing to listen and solve them.

she’s absolutely the type of girlfriend who likes to leave little notes around the house for when you wake up and she’s not at home. it can be one or multiple with sweet messages or just random things.

you can find one on your bedside table saying “good morning babe hope you slept well <3” and think: “oh. so sweet” and then find one at the fridge saying “THERE ARE NO EGGS PLS GO GRAB SOME OR I’LL DIE” and think: “yeah that’s something she would say”.

she likes to do the chores with you. if she was living alone she would get very annoyed at the fact that she has to do everything alone, but since you’re both living together, it becomes something fun to do. she likes to do the laundry with you and she loves to clean the house with you while you both dance and sing like you’re in a band.

MOVIE NIGHTS!!! it’s probably her favorite night of the week. she LOVES to explain the entire plot of the movie for the 15th time to you and she’ll get super excited abt it (her eyes always light up when you ask her the most random questions about it. she’s so cute). also, be damn sure she will bring out the coziest blankets and wrap you like a burrito while watching the movie. you’re not going anywhere :)

you’ll have to put up with her obsessions. as i said before, she gets super excited when she explains something to you so you’ll basically have a raging fangirl in your house, too. and she’ll make you obsess over it too. so it’s a win-win situation!

ellie is a very intimate person, she shows love the best through her actions and spending time with you whenever she’s able to.

and she loves showering with you. it’s a time when you can both be naturally free and relax after a long day. there’s just something about the way she can hold you, skin to skin, feeling your body warmth along with the water as it washes you both. it can even make her emotional, just the fact that she gets to be with you in such an intimate moment makes her so happy.

she’ll get mad at you if you shower without her.

BACK MASSAGE LOVER!! she loves it when you give her a back massage after a hard day training or outside on patrol. literally she melts under your hands. and she will return you the favor, too! if you’re ever feeling sore she’ll be always willing to treat you like royalty.

she actually loves to draw you. and she does it a lot. she’s in love with you so you’re automatically her muse, and she’ll beg to draw you a hundred times.

when she can’t sleep, she usually grabs her diary and draws you sleeping, along with a little poem about how in love she’s with you and how infatuated she is with every part of you.

she likes to give you nicknames, and she usually calls you babe, bug or love but that’s just when she’s feeling super romantic ;)

loves to take you by surprise and hug you from behind whenever you’re distracted doing the chores or just simply existing.

Robin sighed as she watched you walk right in front of her, with the rest of the cheer squad onto the gym’s floor.

She tried to look uninterested, like she merely thought the team's dancing and efforts to draw the crowds attention was just decent. But Robin couldn’t help but look at you. The way your smile seemed to brighten the entire room, the way you waved your arms and jumped around laughing, shaking those ridiculous green and white pom poms. She thought you looked like the most gorgeous girl in Hawkins, hell, maybe even in all of Indiana.

Then the basketball team walked out onto the floor.

You so clearly liked them. Robin watched you try to hide your embarrassment of being singled out by one of the team players, as he sent you a wink. Robin rolled her eyes at his pathetic attempts to flirt, but she couldn’t deny that was partly jealousy. She wanted to be the one who made you get all nervous, she wanted to be the one you liked, not some ugly basketball player that probably reeked of trashy cologne and was a total pig.

Robin just faked a smile and continued playing her trumpet. It was ridiculous to think that you would ever like her, even as a friend. You were too good for her.

You let out a laugh, as the guy whose name you had kind of already forgotten, continued rattling on about a party you’d skipped over the weekend.

In reality, you weren’t paying attention to him. Your locker was at the perfect location, right in front of the band room, allowing you to peer inside. Sure the people you mostly associated with thought they were all a bunch of dorks and losers, but you thought they had substance. Specifically the girl with the short hair and raspy voice. You had never gotten her name. All you knew was that she was pretty, and nice, and funny. Or at least you hoped so. You didn’t really talk.

“See you Friday?” the boy looked nervous, and you didn’t even remember what plans you had agreed to.

“Of course, I’ll see you then, buddy!” You cringed slightly at your use of the phrase, but Jesus Christ you had no idea how to let him down easily.

You watched as he left, some disappointment in his eyes.

Robin walked out of the band room, her backpack slung over her shoulder, as she held her trumpet case in her hand. She hated having practice because you would always be right outside, close enough that if she wanted to she could just talk to you, yet still out of reach. Yet it seemed that today, you would be closer to her than before.

“Ohhhhh, shit, I’m so sorry-” Robin stammered as she knelt to the floor picking up the instrument’s case.

“No- no- it’s my fault I totally tripped you- on accident of course, I never would've wanted to trip you on purpose it’s just that I wasn’t looking.” You rambled on kneeling on the floor to help pick up some sheet music that had also fallen onto the floor.

You looked up over at her, as your hands met when you reached for a paper. “Oh, is this supposed to be for the next game?”

“I’m sorry what?” Robin's mouth felt dry, she couldn’t believe she was standing in your sheer presence and now you were talking to her and touching her hand? It felt unreal.

You waved the paper in the air as you handed it to her, “Is it the music for the basketball game, next week?”

“Yeah, yeah, it’s uhm, supposed to be for the next game- you already knew that though because you just said it and of course you are going to be at the next game because you, well cheer and- and I- I cannot shut up holy shit… I’m sorry. You probably don’t,” Robin cleared her throat, “want to hear me talk that much. Shutting up now.” Robin let out a nervous laugh. She was so convinced she had ruined everything, even the chance of you becoming friends or even just people who you talked to in the hallway.

“It’s totally okay, don’t worry about it. It’s actually kinda cute.”

Robin was sure she looked like a deer standing in front of headlights. Her brain was definitely fried from pulling all nighters and drinking too much coke. There was no way you just called her “cute”.

Calling her “cute” was totally different from you calling her “nice” or “friendly” or even “not as annoying as everyone said.” And there was also no way you were actually flirting with her. Or were you?

Robin’s mind felt like it was running a thousand miles a second.

You could feel what you thought was an uncomfortable silence. Maybe Robin didn’t get your hint. “Hey you know what I just remembered? I’m supposed to come up with a new routine for the girls on the team- its a whole thing- but, I was thinking, maybe I could come over and practice at your place on Friday and you could serve as the music? It’s silly, I know but-”

“It’s not silly at all, it sounds like a great idea. I love it, but are you sure you don’t have plans with your boyfriend?” It was Robin’s last ditch effort to confirm that you were in fact into girls.

“I don’t have a boyfriend. I’m actually not really looking for a boyfriend right now,” you said, trying to enunciate the boy part of it all.

Robin’s eyes were wide open as she got your message, “Oh! Okay, then yeah it totally works for me, I can swing by later and give you my place…”

“So it’s a date?” you asked hopefully.

Robin swallowed, “Yeah. A date.”

You smiled and squeezed Robin’s arm, “I can’t wait.”

Robin watched you float down the hall, a new bounce in your step as you headed over to a group of girls Robin wasn’t really a fan of. ‘A date’. The words echoed in Robin’s mind. She was going on a date with you. It felt truly unreal. Yet somehow, a part deep inside of Robin felt like it was meant to be. It was just you and her.

“Oh my god,” your hands wrapped around the coffee mug bringing it up to your lips taking a short sip before continuing your rant, “He’s never going to propose is he?”

“Don’t say that,” your friend chimed in trying to bring you back down to reality.

“He’s quite literally never home, I think he takes jobs to avoid me at this point,” obviously you were exaggerating. Phillip and you were happy but that nagging voice in the back of your head kept your mind busy with all the “what ifs,”.

“Give him time, I'm sure he’s planning something for you,” your friend squeezed your hand reassuring you it would be okay.

“I guess so,” as much as you wanted to believe her words it just felt like there was no proposal or wedding in your future. Phillip was always busy with the Shadow Company and when he was home it was purely rest. Your mind drifted off running through all the possibilities that could happen and an engagement just wasn't one of them.

After your goodbyes, you headed to the car after the mini coffee date with your friend. The drive was quiet as you let your mind wander until your phone rang.

“Phillip, hey what’s up?” you answered, hitting the accept button as the phone connected to the Bluetooth.

“Hey, darlin’ you headed home?”

“Yeah, should be back in about,” you glanced at the time, “15-20 minutes,”

“Perfect, can't wait to see ya, okay bye love you,” he hung up before you got a chance to respond. What you didn't know was the whole point of going out with your friend was to get you out of the house for Phillip to set up his proposal.

She has no idea

Graves smiled looking at the text on his phone. He had planned everything down to the minute and so far everything was going perfectly. He checked his watch for the time and quickly changed into a white button-up with black slacks. Standing in the bathroom mirror he rolled up his sleeves just above his elbows. With a quick spritz of cologne on his wrist and neck, and a little bit of gel in his hair, he jogged down the stairs making sure you hadn't arrived yet.

Pulling into the driveway a wave of exhaustion flooded over you. The conversation over coffee made you feel all sorts of things. You knew you and Phillip were happy but you couldn't help but feel self-conscious at the idea of not being engaged yet after 5 years. Phillip was simple and you knew he would propose when he felt right so now you just had to put your trust in him and wait.

Approaching the house, you noticed a piece of paper taped to the door with your name on it. Apprenhenisley you opened it not knowing what to expect.

Come Find Me -Phillip

A small smile began to creep across your face as you shook your head at your boyfriend's antics. Opening the front door you shouted to try to draw Graves out, “Phil… I’m home.” Your call was answered with pure silence as you walked through the house trying to find him. Your head was on a swivel trying to see where he could be hiding. Until out of the corner of your eye was another note sitting perfectly on the stairs. Chuckling to yourself you bent down picking up the note.

Getting Warmer -Phillip

“Graves, where are you?” you shouted up the stairs, making your voice echo loudly through the house. Huffing in frustration from your failed attempts to draw him out you headed up the stairs to continue your search. You glanced at the doors in the hallway noticing the only one shut was the door to your shared bedroom. Funny enough it was also the only door with a note similar to the two previous ones you had found taped to it.

“Good one Phillip,” you joked as you opened the third envelope.

Almost there -Phillip

Unsure of what to expect, you opened the bedroom door to finally find Phillip who stood with a bouquet of flowers, and the final note.

“You found me,” he smiled, motioning for you to come in.

“I did,” as you walked in you began to notice how different the room looked. Candles lit up and placed on the nightstand and dresser, rose petals spread on the bed, and Phillip in front of you swapping out his usual blue button-up for a dressier white one. “You look handsome,” you leaned in, placing a kiss on his lips before he pulled away.

“Your final note doll,” he winked, handing you the envelope. Popping the seal and pulling the note out you read the ink.

Marry Me? -Phillip

Your hand flew to your face covering your mouth that was left agape. Looking at Phillip, who was now down on one knee with a ring, tears began to well in your eyes.

“Whaddya say?” his smile widened as he spoke.

“Oh my god yes,” you couldn't say it fast enough as you fell to your knees to join him on the floor. His arms wrapped around you pulling closer to him. Pulling back from the hug he slipped the ring onto your finger, admiring how it looked.

“I could get used to this,” he laughed, his hands cupping your face and pulling you in for a slow kiss.

“Me too,” you mumbled into his lips.

“And you were nervous I wasn't going to propose,” he teased, kissing up and down your neck. A light gasp escaped your lips.

“Who told you that?” heat rising to your cheeks at the embarrassment. Graves noticed and lightly rubbed his thumb along your cheek.

“I’ve been plannin’ this for a while sweetheart, you had no reason to worry, I just need it to be perfect,” he stood up grabbing your hand to help you join him.

“Thank you, it was perfect,”

His hands wrapped around your waist tugging you closer “I'm glad,” he smiled kissing your lips again, “Only the best for you,”

I’m so glad i finally have a consistent hair texture for her yay. Now one thing I’m currently having trouble drawing consistently is her face. She just looks different averytime i draw her help 😭😭😭 (you’ll see once you get to see the side doodles i did of her, actually i currently have the same problem w/ my ruby gijinka ever since i redesigned her 🥲)

i actually tried drawing her w/ different hairstyles (i usually almost never give human characters the same hairstyle or outfits twice lol, but since i had trouble with finding a consistent hair texture for my fanny hummie she was one of the exceptions)
