a/n: ive been waiting for this one! turn it up! (ps. this is acc an extract from a fic ive been working on. hopefully i can turn it into a long fic. lmk if you guys would wanna see that)
word count: 437 (rly short)
“Ani?” you called out to the darkness, your voice low and unsure. You were stood under a fluorescent Felucian fern; its large size provided you some cover from any wandering Jedi. Not that you needed it; hardly anyone visited the Temple’s gardens on the top floor, and ever since the start of the Clone Wars, fewer and fewer Jedi came to visit the mystical gardens.
“Yeah, its me.” you could tell he was smiling even before he stepped around a cluster of mushrooms you were pretty sure originate from Endor, you could hear his smile in his voice.
As soon as you saw him, you broke into a run and leaped into his open arms, almost toppling him over. In that moment, you completely forgot you were in the Jedi temple, it was just you and him. No sneaking around, no secrecy, just your love for each other.
He pressed his face against your shoulder and tightly hugged you, his arms wrapped around your torso. His familiar scent enveloped you like a warm hug as you nestled your face in the crook of his neck.
"I missed you so much, Ani," you said, pulling away slightly to get a good look at his face. He kept his arms around you, pressing your bodies together, and his face broke into a warm smile, the type of smile that could light up an entire room and was extremely contagious.
“I missed you more, my love.” he leaned in to kiss you; he tasted nice.
“You had been gone for so long.” you pouted. “And we couldn’t even talk!”
Anakin’s latest mission had been hard on you both. He had been sent to Kessel on a no-comms mission to gather intel on some Separatist plot. But that didn’t matter anymore, all that mattered was now. His arms around you, his lips against yours. You didn’t know how you were going to say goodbye to him again.
“I’m sorry.” he always apologised, even though it wasn’t his fault. “You know how things are…” he tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear and smiled down at you. “But let's forget about that, okay?”
You nodded and, standing on your tip-toes, gave him a quick kiss. You could feel that gorgeous smile of his against your own as you kissed.
Anakin pulled you tight against him once more, desperate to feel you close to him. You could feel the way his heart rapidly beat against your chest. His warmth was nearly overwhelming, but not quite.
"We're here now, together." he kissed the top of your head. "And thats all that matters."

Prompt: I can’t sleep so I thought why not write a quick fluffy scenario with our beloved anakin before I eventually do fall asleep and hopefully never wake up (joking obv)
Tw: No trigger warnings except Love and fluff <3 I‘M VERY SORRY ABOUT ANY GRAMMA OR SPELLING MISTAKES I WROTE THIS AT 12 AM

The room was cold and your thoughts were clouded. Anakin had yet not returned from his mission and it started to seriously worry you. No one knew if he was dead or alive since no signal came through that his mission was successful. The bed was cold and untouched you simply couldn’t sleep another day without exactly knowing what had happened to your partner.
Something inside you felt even more uneasy than normally, yes of course you were extremely worried and stressed but there was something else that you couldn’t quite make out. Your clouded thoughts making it impossible for you to make out what it is, so you had no other choice but to ignore it as best as you could. You were pacing around when you heard the front door open. Immediately you froze in place, heart beating faster and mind now racing. Who could it be? Heavy steps were Heard- until the familiar presents was felt..
Anakin was home
Your eyes lit up as you practically jumped in Anakins arms „Ani you‘re back!“ your voice breaking mid sentence. It broke Anakins heart yet he still embraced you in a tight bear hug „I‘ve missed you princess“ he gently whispered while kissing the top of your head softly. You could hear his racing heart and you were sure he could feel yours aswell „What happened? Why didn’t tell anyone where you were?? I was worried sick!!“ you lifted your head to look at your Jedi boyfriend. Anakin looked into your glossy eyes „It‘s very complicated.. I will explain everything to you later I promise“ he cupped your face and placed a soft kiss on your lips
The kiss was gentle as if Anakin was scared to hurt you even more than he did in the last weeks by disappearing. Having him back was such a Relief that you allowed all the sleepless nights to come wash over you and Anakin seemed to notice it too, so he scooped you into his arms like a bride and carried you to your shared bed. He placed you in the soft sheets and laid next to you, pulled the blankets over the two of you and then carefully wrapping his arms around you, spooning you almost.
You could feel his hands running through your hair while holding you close „Sleep Princess.. I won’t go anywhere I promise“ his soothing voice spoke to you. You leaned into his touch and allowing yourself to finally drifting into a peaceful sleep, your raspy voice speaking one final time „I love you Ani“. „ I love you too“ was the last thing you heard before finally shutting off…

"Luke Skywalker isn’t like the old Jedi. He saves Vader with his attachments!”
Wrong!
Luke Skywalker, at the end of Return of the Jedi, after his confrontation with the Emperor drags Darth Vader through the destructing Death Star. He’s desperate, knuckles white under the heavy weight of his father’s body, a little boy dragging his dad to safety. He sets Vader down for a moment, to catch his breath or maybe to get a better grip. He goes to grab Vader again, but Vader, uncomfortable and in pain, asks Luke to take off the mask. He wants to see Luke through his eyes instead of the eyes Palpatine built for him. Luke refuses, says that removing the mask is a sure way for Vader to die. Luke doesn’t want Vader dead, he wants Vader alive. Not to hold him accountable for his many evil acts, but for the same reason why Luke Skywalker can’t kill Darth Vader; Vader is his father and Luke loves him.
And yet, after a moment, Luke removes Vader’s mask. He doesn’t want to, he hesitates, but he removes the mask with enough slowness to allow Vader to take it back. In that moment, Luke sets aside his desire for Vader in his life, sets aside his desire to see him live, and sets aside his entire mission, the reason he was even on the Death Star in the place. In his compassion for his father, Luke stays with Vader until he dies. It is this moment where we see him be the best damn Jedi he can be. I’d even argue that this moment is the greatest example of non-attached love we see. Because Luke lets Vader go! He lets his father die, and in some ways, by removing the mask, he too kills Vader, he stays with him until his last moment, gives him the kindness of granting his last wish and finally chooses Vader.
And Luke doesn’t have to do this. If Luke Skywalker’s love for his father was an attachment, he would ignore Vader and continue dragging him to the escape pod, put his desire for a father as his central focus and ignore Vader’s wants and discomfort. Maybe he would even save him. But he doesn’t. Instead, he watches as Vader dies.
He builds a Jedi burial for his father and watches it burn the remnants of Vader and Anakin Skywalker away. He mourns Vader, he mourns what they could’ve had as father and son, considers what ifs and maybe-if-I-did-this. Vader/ Anakin is released from his mortal body, from his ‘crude matter’ and Luke lets him go. He says one final goodbye to Anakin. Then, he joins Leia, Han, Chewie, Lando, and the rest of the Rebels and celebrates their victory. He lives in the present and celebrates what he has instead of what he lost.
Luke Skywalker is THE Jedi. Everything about Luke Skywalker serves as the foundational cornerstone of the Jedi, everything about the Jedi as a culture and philosophy is reflected in his character. Luke’s desire for the New Jedi Order isn’t to throw away the values of the old Order, but to vitalise them, breathe life back into dying lungs, and rebuild a path that people set out on their way to destroy. (Yes, his Order is different from the Old, but that’s because it has to be. He doesn’t have the resources or the safety of the Old Order.) The philosophies of the Jedi are difficult and they aren’t for everyone, and like the perfect Jedi that Luke is, he struggles and stumbles and sometimes he even rejects it. But, no matter how far he falls, it is a way of life he chooses again and again and again. It is a way of life that welcomes him back each time

considering shaak ti was like 6'2" i love the idea that female togrutas are taller on average than female humans. this is in part motivated by the fact that i love leaning into the carnivore/predator vibes of togruta bc i think we all deserve a lil more adventurous alien biology. but it is also in part bc i love the trope of younger characters being taller than older characters.
please see the vision: when ahsoka first passes 6'0" in height and is taller than obi-wan, anakin loses his SHIT and won't shut up about it. he's so fucking giddy about it bro. teasing obi-wan is like, his favorite thing to do aside from hang out with padme. the height jokes now that obi-wan is officially the shortest out of the trio are marvelous and anakin loves every moment of it.
but then... then ahsoka keeps growing. and soon she's 6'1" and anakin is getting a bit nervous, though he vehemently denies it when asked. and then she's 6'2" aka anakin's exact height and still growing and suddenly anakin doesn't find the height jokes funny any more.
...and then, one day, she inches past anakin. and suddenly anakin finds himself the butt of all of the jokes he made about obi-wan, but it's a million times worse because he's used to being the tallest. please please PLEASE imagine all of the different expressions (and colors) that would cross anakin's face the first time ahsoka rests an elbow on his head or, gods forbid, calls him "shorty."
tldr: i think ahsoka deserves to be tall and buff enough to carry her masters like this, as a treat:
