#i drive a manual

Something I love about Arther and John’s level of trust, is that they trust each other enough to drive
Now, Malevolent is set in around 1930. The first automatic car was invented in 1929 and they were only widely distributed in the 1950s.
Arthur trusted John enough to help him drive a manual. John trusted Arther enough to drive a manual.
But just IMAGINE the complications
“Shift to 3rd Arther we can speed up.”
“ARTHER FUCK! NO! YOU WENT TOO FAR OVER ARTHER WE’RE IN 5th ARTHER YOU STALLED THE CAR SHIT RESTART IT HURRY”
“I THOUGHT I HAD THE MUSCLE MEMORY”
“CLEARLY NOT ARTHER”
“ARTHER. WHY WOULD YOU SHIFT TO NEUTRAL??”
“YOU SAID THE CAR IN FRONT OF US STOPPED”
“HE SPED BACK UP ARTHER GET IN GEAR”
“STOP YELLING”
“ARTHER FUCK NO WHY WOULD YOU SHIFT TO 4th WE’RE TOO SLOW FOR THAT WE’LL NEVER ACCELERATE LIKE THIS. NO DONT DOWNSHIFT NOW WE’RE GOING SLOWER HIT THE CLUTCH FUCK”

i just can’t stop thinking about copia driving and being his passenger princess?? like ffjdsjjffjs he looks so good in that episode and i wanna go on trips with him just to dreamily stare at him
You just know when he feels comfortable he's singing along to the radio and gets all hyped when one of his favorite songs start playing, you have to actively remind him to watch the road sometimes because he gets so into his performance.
One of his hands is on your thigh at ALL times, though, unless he has to switch gears because this man loves his classy old cars and sorry but he is not driving an automatic. When you're not on the highway and he has to shift gears more often you rest your hand on his thigh instead, firm and muscular as it works the pedals. Gets him even more distracted than the music.
Road trips involve a plethora of snacks and drinks that you have to feed him. He playfully bites your fingers every time, brushing it off with a comment about how delicious you are but he loves to hear you giggle too much to stop, not even after he made the same joke ten times.
Don't tease him too much while you're on the road unless you're prepared to make an abrupt stop at a secluded rest stop parking lot. The bumps and bruises are worth it, though.

yesterday when i was in bed falling asleep i got a call that the lab was about to literally explode. i didnt have time to get dressed, i could barely put on shoes and a coat before sprinting like a bat out of hell to the lab and open a valve to prevent the entire system from over pressurising and failing. girly pops i had so much adrenaline in my system on that drive and subsequent literal sprint into the lab i felt like i inhaled a kilo of high purity cocaine and i could hear my heartbeat for hours afterwards

re previous comment on len and mick stealing cars and going for joyrides in their youth, that's definitely how len learned to drive, right? probably taught by mick, who i believe is sliiightly older, maybe old enough to have learned already and be able to pass it on
who else was gonna teach him? lewis? (maybe, if he needed a getaway driver, but unlikely for any other reason and he'd likely have lost his license anyway due to drunk driving).
i know drivers ed is a thing in some US high schools (cries in england where lessons cost minimum £25 an hour and in many places closer to £40) so i GUESS he could have learned before he dropped out, but i vastly prefer the idea of len and mick fresh out of juvy in some beat-up stolen car on a quiet street in the middle of a scorching hot summer. all the windows are rolled down. mick is all gruff and impatient and hotheaded and, realistically, not a very good teacher, and angry, scrappy teenage leonard snart is an even worse student. mick keeps yelling at him and calling him an idiot while he stalls the car repeatedly and len keeps telling him to go fuck himself because he despises not knowing how to do something
then the cops catch up to them, given that they're very clearly driving a stolen car, uninsured, and if the US is anything like the UK then mick wouldn't even legally be allowed to supervise a learner driver until he's over 21
so len gets a somewhat literal crash course in driving as they attempt to outrun the cops because neither he or mick are famed for making good decisions. dealer's choice as to whether they get away (unlikely) or whether they get caught and hauled straight back to juvy. probably the latter. as they're both being slammed against a car and cuffed, mick growls "next time, i'm driving" and again, len tells him to go fuck himself

@shrimpuufriend told me that Capcom had recently released never-before seen concept art of the original Rockman (Which you can find here!), and it is the coolest thing EVER.
That said, I wanted to be the first person to make something based off of the newly surfaced concept art, so I took one featured sketch of Rockman and turned it into its own sprite piece, complete with a faux beta title screen I craftily edited into the manual! 💙✨

Hear me out: we're in 4x08 and the Cali gang is looking for “Nina” and at one point Jonathan stops the van to check if Mike located the computer correctly, given Suzie's coordinates.
Just for context: this is the first time we are shown the Cali gang after the van scene.
The sequence is the following:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nothing wrong right? Just four guys trying to see if they're going the right way? Well, yes, but the whole "straight, straight, straight..." thing stood out to me.
During the van scene, like many others, I've always got the feeling Jonathan wanted to blow Mike's head up: he couldn't quite get his head around the fact that Mike didn't understand Will was talking about his own feelings.
Typically, when you can't understand something, you just stop and think through that -> Jonathan stops the van, before he gets too lost in trying to make some sense of what he had witnessed minutes prior
Mike doesn't understand why Jonathan stopped the van -> he doesn't think there's anything to make some sense of
If you understand where I'm trying to go here, Jonathan then, wants to prove Mike wrong regarding his calculation (but in the analogy, also regarding his "pretending to be straight").
The calculation is correct and Mike's facade of the "straight guy" doesn't crack at all (remember: we're from Jonathan's pov -> he stopped to think, but all the facts bring to Mike being actually straight).
But that doesn't make sense = it doesn't make sense that Mike is straight (indeed, Jonathan witnessed Mike's monologue in S2 + who knows what else!):
Yes, apparently, Mike is straight: because he's with El, because he didn't react at Will's muted love confession in the back of the van BUT, Jonathan can sense that something doesn't add up, i.e., that Mike isn't really straight.
And his feeling about this is kinda confirmed, because his thoughts are interrupted by Argyle, who found some tracks... and we all know that Argyle is often associated with rainbow imagery.
Ergo, I think that Jonathan actually knows and realized about Mike being queer.
(in the tags i lay out some more evidence ABOUT manual driving lol, but that is more of a crack thing lol)

kaeya having his mandela catalogue moment seeing the copy of his brother… can’t wait for him to meet shade! that definitely won’t fuck him up at all! - teddy anon
oh he’ll totally leave that interaction 100% sane (lying)
brief note, diluc and shade would be over in .2 seconds. putting aside the impossibility of shade leaving your side willingly, diluc has long since memorized the microexpressions on kaeya’s face, and knows that he isn’t him.
brief note two, shade is much better at passing as kaeya than red is diluc. aside from the very obvious detail of red borderline growling at people all the time, red carries himself differently. diluc, while often awkward and sometimes unintentionally cold, is still approachable, a trait that red could never manage. shade, however…
shade is a bandit. a master of disguise mixed with kaeya's already clever personality, able to mask himself as kaeya—and has, on occasion, to lead a patrol away or to snatch some medical supplies from the city for you or nikki. the difference is that he has a diluc to fall back on, one that he can trust with his entire self. kaeya can't let himself be honest with diluc and vice versa, but shade and red can. who better to tell your homicidal urges to than your fellow reflection?
imagine with me. post hunt. you're entering mondstat, without red at nikki's request. you, nikki, momo, and shade, making your way toward the gates. everyone knew about the old copy of diluc you had made, about the mirrors your friend taught you to use to summon the archons of old. even night, elusive as she was, was known throughout the knights.
but shade was new. shade was quick on his feet, always swift to pull you through the impossible tangles of forest, into thickets that would knit behind you so the patrols couldn't follow. shade was a well kept secret, only glimpsed in rumors throughout the city that the cavalry captain was occasionally seen in a new set of formal wear.
kaeya had heard these rumors. he'd also known that your 'diluc' was your closest guard, and had himself witnessed him going into the city. he'd thought nothing of it, assuming the people had simply seen someone that looked like him. they hadn't.
once youre close enough for him to actually recognize shade, its like his whole world falls apart.
"divine one..." jean, at his side, likely also recalling the rumors. "your company..."
"this is momo and nikki," you introduce, "and this is shade."
shade. some part of that feels ironic.
hes not surprised by the talking cat, barely registering nikki's polite hello as he locks eyes with shade. same height, same hair, same patch over the eye and sharp smile when he knows he's won.
"shade, say hello."
shade blinks, then flashes a fake smile. "greetings."
the meeting is a blur for kaeya. all he can see is shade, shade and how clearly you and him are attached. his hand held in yours, the adoring look in his eyes as he watches you speak-
he'd passed as kaeya. his mask was so paper thin someone he's never even met could imitate it flawlessly, putting on his identity like a costume on the world's stage and doing it better.
shade was the one at your side. shade led you away with a polite smile—you didn't see the way it dropped so he could shoot kaeya a glare—and a hand around your waist. shade was the one that believed you, that kept you safe.
kaeya had invented the frostwind swordsman. he'd crafted his persona by hand, making a shield out of his words and behavior, and yet it was somehow shade that had perfected it.
