beefy!bucky barnes X teacher!reader word count: 550  (drabble) summary: christmas/holiday drabble - Bucky picks you up from school on the last day before winter break a/n: i attempted to make this little holiday drabble as gender and religion inclusive as possible. no gender, identity, or religion is specifically stated in the fic, so anyone can enjoy it! no use of y/n warnings: fluff. kids?
Tumblr media
The final dismissal bell rings, signaling the start of winter break for kids and teachers alike. All your students were frantically packing away all of their winter art projects and homework so that they could officially spend the next week awaiting Santa Claus or at least to spend time at home with their families.
“Alright kiddos! Have a happy holidays and I’ll see everyone when we get back from winter break. Stay warm!” You waved them all out of the classroom as you picked up your own bags to lock up your classroom for the next two weeks.
Once you picked up all your belongings, you followed after the stragglers to redirect them to the car pick up line. It was your last carline duty and at least you got to say goodbye to all your students and their parents. Even though the winter weather was nipping at your nose, the thought of a relaxing holiday break with your fiancé, Bucky, and your cat, Alpine, kept you warm.
“Goodbye! Goodbye!” You waved to each car as they drove off onto the snowy Brooklyn street. There were only a handful of children and vehicles left, and as the kids climbed into their parent’s car, you saw a familiar black SUV pull into the pick up line.
“It looks like Prince Charming has pulled up to whisk you away from the cold,” A colleague of yours teased. You giggled as you could see him and Alpine through the windshield of your shared vehicle.
Once Bucky had pulled up close enough, you climbed into your carriage to be whisked away as your peers waved goodbye. As you settled in your seat and removed extra winter wear, Alpine climbed comfortably into your lap to welcome you.
“Thanks for picking me up, Buck! I know its not ideal, but I don’t trust anything when it’s snowing this hard.”
“It’s no problem, love,” He chuckled, placing his righthand on your thigh, “I don’t think that its snowed like this or has been this cold since I was a kid.”
“Well that was a hundred years ago, give or take,” You teased him.
“Y’know,” he simply responded, before moving on, “I’m surprised your face didn’t flush or that you don’t have goose bumps! It’s well below freezing!”
“Well, I’ve got a secret weapon that keeps me from freeing solid.”
Bucky turned into the driveway of your apartment complex just outside the building and parked the SUV, “And what would that secret weapon be?”
“I’ve got my love to keep me warm,” you winked at him and pressed a kiss to Alpine’s little head. You earned a meow and another warm chuckle in response.
“Get upstairs, you cheesy goof! I’ve got hot chocolate and my favorite holiday movie waiting for us.”
“Bucky, Die Hard isn’t a holiday movie - you are the only person who thinks that it is,” he rolled his eyes, and Alpine purred against the warmth of your chest, “Even the cat agrees.”
“Sure, because the cat knows so much about movies,” His nose scrunched as the two of you stepped into the elevator. As the doors closed, Bucky pressed a kiss to the temple of your head, “I’m just glad I get to have you all to myself for two weeks.”

There wasn’t a pair of ears who haven’t heard of the name Kamisato Ayato. Everyone and their neighbor’s dog have heard some mention of the blue-haired business man. As head of the nation’s leading corporation, Kamisato Ayato was quite the figurative icon.
Figurative more than icon. Because although the well-known CEO has had his name plastered on every nook and cranny of the city, he rarely made a public appearance.
Despite his fame and recognition, you only knew 2 things about him:
1) He is a wealthy and important man. His business, Kamisato Enterprise, oversees many—if not all—work fields in the country, including education. Heck, half his daily income could cover your yearly salary.
2) His son is your student.
Kamisato Akihiko was an intelligent and reserved 1st grader in your class. What he lacked in boisterous banter, he made up in chivalrous charm. You often caught him nose buried in a hardcover book, instead of being with the bustling children on the playground during recess.
Akihiko was a model child, you knew that.
But why were you so nervous to meet his father on parent-teacher day?
Maybe it’s because you knew nothing about his personal life, or because you’ve never seen the mysterious man. Your colleagues at the front office told you his wife showed up for all school events related to Akihiko, but never him. However, by some stroke of luck, Ayato himself RSVP’d for the parent-teacher meeting today.
Swallowing down a nervous gulp, you stood by your classroom door and called out Akihiko’s name. You walked back to your desk, arranging the stack of papers for the nth time.
You heard a knock, “Excuse me?”
His voice was handsomely husky, you noted. Turning around, you came face to face with what you would have assumed to be a relic of a Greek god.
His tall stature and broad shoulders had your eyes wandering. His defined arms looked so incredibly attractive despite being hidden under his suit jacket. He ran a hand through his lilac locks and smiled politely.
“Mr Kamisato…welcome,” You greeted, finally meeting his eyes.
Get a grip, he’s a married man!! I shouldn’t have thought of that, please forgive me…
“Thank you for having me, miss L/n.”
You exchanged the friendly smile and gestured towards one of the desks, “Please, have a seat.”
He sat down and took his expensive black gloves off, you mentally cursed yourself for finding the action effortlessly enticing. You cleared your throat and handed him the papers.
“Akihiko is a wonderful student, these are his assignments and tests.” Ayato went through them and nodded along,
“He’s performing exceptionally well, as you can see. Some of our head teachers are even recommending he skip a few grades.”
Ayato hummed and held his chin between his thumb and pointer finger, “I see…but what do you think?”
“Huh?” You stuttered, not expecting the question.
“What those head teachers say do not concern me. You are Akihiko’s teacher, so you know him best. What do you think? Should he skip a few grades?”
You leaned back against your desk and contemplated the matter. Albeit the little boy truly was clever, you felt hesitant about the decision.
“In all honesty, Mr Kamisato…I don’t think he should,” you answered.
Ayato gave you a knowing look to go on.
“I don’t mean to say your son is incapable of undergoing a higher level workload, but…he’s still a child. The beginning years of elementary school are not meant for academic woes. Akihiko should spend these years exploring his interests, making friends and having fun. He should…be a kid.”
The corner of Ayato’s lips tugged upwards and he nodded, “I wholly agree with you.”
You smiled and turned around to fetch the attendance sheet. Unbeknownst to you, Ayato was gazing at you with a twinkle in his eyes.
“If you could just sign here, and if you have any further questions about your son’s performance, I am more than happy to oblige.” You told him.
He sighed and signed the paper, “No, that’s all.” He paused to look into your eyes, “I’m happy you’re Akihiko’s teacher.”
You shyly looked down and smiled as you received the papers back from him.
“I—uhh wasn’t expecting you here, Mr Kamisato. I’ve been told your wife comes to all school events.”
He arched a brow in confusion, “Wife?”
You blinked, “Y-yeah, I believe her name was Kamisato Ayaka…?”
“Ah,” the realization dawned on him, “I think you’ve misunderstood; that’s my sister.”
“Oh! I’m so sorry—!“
“No, no, it’s quite alright.” He assured with a gentle smile. “I don’t have a wife.”
“Oh…”
“My ex wife left when Akihiko was 3.”
You opened your mouth then closed it, unsure of what to respond with. Ayato noticed your predicament and simply waved his hands dismissively, “It’s fine, it happened a long time ago. I’m sure she’s more than fine with my ex business partner now.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.” You murmured, sympathetically.
Ayato stared at you. Despite discussing the misfortunate matter at hand, he seemed to focus on you alone. You looked absolutely iridescent in his eyes, he couldn’t help but take a fleeting glance at your lips.
He shook his head and peered at the clock, “My apologies, but I must be going now.”
You nodded as he rose from his seat, “Of course, thank you for coming today.”
He put his gloves back on and extended his hand out, “It was a pleasure meeting you, miss L/n.”
“Likewise, Mr Kamisato.”
He gave you a soft smile before departing from the classroom. Once he was gone, you sighed and walked back to your desk. You stared at his name on the sheet, your mind wandering.
3) He is very handsome.
+
“Excuse me, miss L/n?”
You peeked down from your desk and spotted Akihiko standing with a bouquet of flowers clearly too big for his 6-year-old hands to carry.
You quickly ushered him to come around the desk and held onto the flower arrangement for him, “What’s this, Akihiko?”
“My dad told me to give it to you, it’s for Mother’s Day.”
You felt the heat rise to your cheeks and you feigned a cough to hide your flustered face.
“Th-that’s so kind of you two, thank you very much, Akihiko.” You patted the boy’s hair and smiled.
Just then, the last bell rang and the erupt sound of children filled the hallways.
You looked down at Akihiko, “You should be heading out now, I’ll see you on Monday. Please thank your father for the flowers.”
He nodded and began to make his way out the classroom, before abruptly stopping by the door.
You tilted your head, “What’s the matter?”
He slowly turned around, his eyes downcast on his shoes. “Miss L/n? Can you do something for me?”
“Of course, Akihiko. What is it?”
He bashfully played with the hem of his shirt, “Well, my dad always says you’re like a mother to me. He says teachers are our second parents.”
You made a sound of amusement, “Your father is correct.”
“If he is, then…can you participate with me in today’s Mother’s Day card contest?”
Your lips parted, that was the last thing you were expecting him to ask. You felt touched to be in this position, and it warmed your heart to know Akihiko felt comfortable enough with you to ask.
“I’d love to help you make a Mother’s Day card.”
+
Ayato had been standing by the school entrance for what felt like half an hour now. Usually, he’d send one of his assistants to pick Akihiko up. But since his schedule spontaneously cleared up for the day, he decided to come himself.
Checking his watch for the hundredth time that afternoon, Ayato decided to go inside and assess the situation. The hallways were scarce until he saw children accompanied by their parents in the courtyard.
He saw dozens of tables and chairs folded out, occupied by little kids and mainly their mothers. The scattered piles of paper and other arts and crafts supplies on the ground was enough to tell him what was going on.
Eventually, he spotted his son with you at one of the tables. He made his way over, a smile crossing his face at the sight of both your joyful expressions.
“Dad!!”
Before Ayato knew it, he felt the force of his son’s hug. His short arms trying to go around his father’s hips. You smiled at the display, admiring the little family.
“Someone forgot to come back to the car,” Ayato teased, picking his son up easily and holding him against his shoulder.
“Sorry, dad. I asked miss L/n to be my mom for the contest!” Akihiko said. You felt your face heat up at the given title, but Ayato found your reaction adorable.
Ah, he really wanted to ruin you.
“I see. Well, I’m happy you asked her. She makes quite the mom, don’t you agree?” At this point, Ayato was purposely saying it to fluster you.
“Akihiko, I think they’re starting now. You can go over there,” you mentioned, diverting the topic.
Ayato lowered Akihiko down, letting him run towards the center with the other kids.
“Thank you for the flowers, by the way.” You brought up, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
Ayato smiled, “You’re most welcome, miss L/n.”
He started clapping as they began to announce the winners of the card contest. But your gaze remained on him, did he always have that pretty mole? It was so close to his lips…if only you could…
“Y/n.”
“Hm?” He turned to you.
“Y/n. You can call me Y/n,” you said.
His smile only grew wider, having to bite down on his lip to contain himself. “In that case, you may call me Ayato.”
You hummed, repeating it, “Ayato…”
+
“Ayato!! Fuck—!!”
You can’t recall exactly how you ended up with your ass in the air and your face pressed against Ayato’s bed.
After a couple weeks spent chatting during pick up duty, and consequently, after exchanging numbers, Ayato and you grew closer. Until tonight, where he had invited you over for dinner.
One thing lead to another, the same way he lead you to his bedroom, and now you found yourself whining his name as you writhed against the sheets.
“Well isn’t this a surprise? I didn’t expect you to have such a dirty mouth.” He remarked, slamming into your tight cunt even harder.
You moaned loudly, you were grateful that Akihiko was away at his aunt’s house for the weekend.
“Ayato…please…” You squirmed, pathetically. He pulled out and you keened at the sudden empty feeling.
He flipped you over so that you were laying on your back and he could have a good look at your pretty, tear-stricken face. His hands were placed on either side of your head, his strong arms supporting his weight.
“Please what? I can’t give you what you want if you don’t tell me.” He said, leaning in closer. His breath tickled your skin as he left feather light kisses on your chest.
“Please…fuck me,” you whined.
He chuckled, “Aren’t I fucking you right now, angel? Are you saying I’m doing a bad job?”
You threw your arms around his neck and pulled him down against you. You felt his tip nudging against your folds and you whimpered at the slight friction.
“Please, breed me. ‘Want you inside, wanna feel it inside.”
His dick throbbed at your words. If he had no self control, he would have ruined you right this second. He won’t deny, he was hoping you’d say that, hoping you felt the same way he did.
He raised himself up, “Is that it, angel? You want me to knock you up?”
You nodded, feverishly. He smirked and slowly lowered his head to your pussy. He placed a long, wet kiss against your clit, making you buck your hips up sporadically.
He chuckled again, pulling away. “Don’t worry, love,” he said, finally pushing himself in you, “I’ll make you a mommy.”
Your hands instinctively reached out to his shoulders, grabbing onto them to steady yourself as he bottomed out.
Slowly, he began pumping himself in and out of your sloppy cunt. Your past round making it easier for him to slip between your folds.
The sound of skin slapping skin began to fill the room, his thrusts growing harsher and faster. He took one of your hands that were hooked on his shoulder and held onto it as he leaned down.
“Do you feel that?” He whispered, deeply into your ear, guiding your hand towards the noticeable bulge in your abdomen. “Do you feel me inside you?”
“Ayato,” you cried out, he felt you tighten around his length.
“Oh? Does my naughty girl enjoy these lewd things?” He smiled and hoisted your legs up to rest on his shoulders, allowing him to reach even deeper within you.
“Ah! Ayato, r-right there!” You moaned, feeling the knot inside your stomach begin to form.
He practically folded you in half by now, his pelvis hitting your clit with every rut of his hips. He groaned, “You feel so good, precious.”
“A-ayato, ‘m close!!”
His hand met your clit and he started to rub it fervently, “Cum for me, cum all over my cock. Don’t you want to give Akihiko a sibling?”
“Yes, yes, yes,” you continued to babble nonsensically, feeling your sweet high approaching.
By the way Ayato’s thrusts were getting sloppier and out of rhythm, you could tell he was close too. The sound of his choked grunts also pushed you further off the edge.
With a cry of his name, your climax finally crashed as you came all over him. A white ring of your slick painted on the base of his cock.
Ayato threw his head back, panting heavily, “I’m—fuck—‘gonna cum.”
You were prepared to feel his warm seed fill your pussy up, but instead, he pulled out and stroked his length once, twice and came all over your stomach.
Tears pricked the corners of your eyes, you were clearly unsatisfied. You whined and squirmed beneath him, “Ayato, why’d you—“
He held your chin between his fingers, tilting your head up to face him.
“You didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?”
You sniffled and he wiped your stray tears away. He repositioned himself at your entrance, steadily rocking his hips again, making you hiss from how sensitive you were.
“If you want me to fill you up, you’ll have to work a lot harder than that, darling.”

Disaster.
That's the perfect way to describe the situation. Today is supposed to be the first day of the school's anniversary celebration.
Every participant for the bazaar was scattering around to pick up all their stuff and set up their tent back to the correct position because a strong force of wind flew all their property, including Y/N vegan brownies cake.
A helicopter suddenly landed in the middle of the football field near the food bazaar.
Every parent, teacher and student was shocked by what happened, and they were even more surprised when people that came out wearing black suits like a secret service approached Y/N.
"Y/N L/N, we need your help." The person standing in front of her is her former colleague Bruno. His code name is 'Poison'.
She knows the only person who will use this method is Lloyd Hansen.
"Y/N, you're not in trouble, right?" A trembling voice came from Jenny, who stood behind Y/N, along with others who were confused with the situation in front of them.
–Flashback Starts–
Everyone was busy setting up their tent, including Y/N until a strong wind and loud sound approached the school.
"Is that a helicopter?
"What happened?"
"Oh my god, are there terrorists at school?"
"No, the decoration is ruined because of the wind!!!"
"Catch the flower buckets!!! That flowers are imported!!!"
–Flashback Ends–
"No, ma'am, the country needs her help." Bruno fixes his aviator, acting friendly towards Jenny. She would never believe this man is dangerous because he uses hazardous chemicals to finish his target.
Jenny grabs Y/N's hand. "If you ever need help, call me. My father knew a few senators."
Lloyd knew a few senators too, and he kept them like figure dolls. He's far more powerful than senators.
"Thank you." Y/N tapped Jenny's hand to assure her that she was okay.
"Give me your car keys; my subordinate will drive your car back to your home."
Y/N gave him the car keys. She doesn't need to tell her address. They have known it beforehand.
"You could bring your…" Bruno pointed at the little human underneath him. "Nephew's with you."
With Kendall in her arms, and her other hand holding Mark, she entered the helicopter quickly so they could leave the school as soon as possible.
"Wow, this is so cool, Aunty."
The helicopter starts to go up, and everyone is in their seat. From the window, Mark saw his classmate look jealous. He lifted his middle finger towards them, but his aunt lowered his hand. "That's rude."
Mark felt embarrassed and lowered his head. "Sorry, Aunty." Y/N shook her head and then checked on the little one who sat on her lap and wore a cancelling headphone noise.
She thought Kendall would be scared, but he's enjoying it. His short legs keep moving up and down.
Bruno sat near her, surprised to see her being gentle, "You've changed, Y/N."
Y/N looked at Bruno, not amused; the way he picked her up would ruin her cover as a regular aunt, and people at the school will ask questions.
"Was it necessary to make an entrance like this?"
Bruno chuckled. "If you didn't ignore him, today wouldn't have happened. Every cause has consequences."
She scoffed, "He must be desperately asking me for help."
"Oh, he is. And we need old Y/N to come back."
Mark clenched her shirt, and she felt it. He must be scared thinking about her old job. Her fingers gently brushed his hair, and she said, "It's gonna be alright."
Tumblr media
They have arrived at the top of the building. Y/N knew this place was one of their headquarters, and the location was in the same city. It's better this way than their usual hideout place inside the forest; kids will get scared.
"Wait here", said Bruno and left them.
After waiting for 5 minutes, the owner of the building appeared. He was standing tall with a well-built body. He'd wearing a black shirt, a leader jacket, beige pants and black shoes.
Lloyd smiled. "Hi, pumpkin, did you miss me?"
Y/N does not answer because she is pissed. Lloyd understands her anger. So he wants to mess with the tiny little guest by saying, "I'm your father."
Kendall, who was silent this whole time, suddenly cried, "Waaa…not daddy."
Y/N clicked her tongue; she rubbed his back to calm him down. "Thanks, Lloyd. It took half an hour to stop his crying."
"Uupss." Lloyd chuckled; he didn't feel sorry even one bit.
"What do you want?"
"I need your help since you are the best tracker in the team."
"You said my method is old-fashioned."
"Here's a thing, since I ruined a tourist attraction in some European country, the Big Boss boss banned me from doing any damage."
When Y/N is still working with him, they always argue about how to get their target. She preferred quiet but deadly, while Lloyd chose loud and messy.
"Who do you need to catch?"
"You agree to help?" Lloyd raised his eyebrows, and he was surprised she quickly agreed.
"If I don't do it, you will bother me again until I say yes. What will I get if I do you a favour?"
"A medicine for him." Lloyd looks at Kendall.
"I know you have the money for his oral medicine, but you must wait a year. If you help me, I will give you the medicine tomorrow."
"How?"
"Let's just say there's a patient that doesn't deserve it."
That's a sign she should stop asking.
"Aunty." Y/N looked down at Mark, who wanted to cry.
"I'll be alright. Could you watch Kendall for a while?"
"Nooo." He shook his head and stomped his foot.
Lloyd doesn't want to hear a kid crying in his place. "Bring him, he won't understand anything."
They moved to another floor. On their way to the control room, Mark saw a sports car inside the building. How did they get the sports car into the skyscraper?
He looked up at Lloyd with adoring eyes. Lloyd felt this kid was watching him, so he just smiled back.
*****
"So, who is this?"
"An accountant of the drug cartel."
"He picked the wrong enemy?"
"Yup, and the CIA want to use him to put the drug cartel to jail. But the problem is, he's good at hiding."
"Give me his profile."
Y/N read the profiles thoroughly and picked maps. Her fingers traced the map, then picked a red marker to make an 'X' sign "He's here."
"How did you know?"
"He's a loner, and doesn't have many friends, so I saw his GPS history, sometimes he always visits the area around his university. He felt safe in a place that was nostalgic to him. So that means…"
Y/N pointed at the 'X' sign on the map. "He's here."
"You heard her; send the team around that area." Lloyd gave an order to his subordinates.
"Can we go home now?"
"No, stay here until we find him. I don't want to go back and forth to pick you up. The gas for the helicopter is expensive."
"Ugh, fine."
******
While waiting for the result, Lloyd ensured three of them got comfortable. He notices Y/N's nephew doesn't feel scared, perhaps because they know her aunt is there to protect them.
"You haven't put him down since you got here. Your arms don't get numb?"
Kendall rested his head on her chest, sleeping while his mouth opened. For Y/N, looking at Kendall is this calm, and her tiredness is gone. "No, he's not heavy."
"Hmm, I understand why he loves being in your arms."
Lloyd leaned his head on her shoulder and hugged her left side. "Because I felt home every time I rested my head on your chest." He winked at her. She pushed him away, but he won't budge.
He wants to move away from her, but because of the little kid, she smells like a baby, and he likes her new smell.
Mark looked at this man acting close to Y/N. He whispered in her ear, "Aunty, is he your boyfriend?"
Lloyd smiled at the innocent question. "Yes, yes, I am." He has this proud look on his face and gives a peck on Y/N's cheek.
His moustache tickled her, so she pushed him away. "Don't give him any ideas."
"Mister, why did you call aunty Y/N pumpkin?"
"Because that's her favourite food."
"Really?" He doesn't know his aunt's favourite food, while she knows their likes and dislikes.
Mark's eyes sparkled, this man had a helicopter, and cars, owned many computers, and he knew Y/N's favourite food. He's cool.
*****
After 4 hours, she finally got the news.
Lloyd wears a big smile on his face. "They caught him. I knew I could count on you."
Y/N, while carrying Kendall and Mark, they immediately stand up from their seat. "Great. So send us back home."
"Eh, I want to invite you to have dinner together."
"Lloyd, you don't like kids."
"I could tolerate them as long as I'm with you."
"My patience has its limits." Not just her but the kids too. She could sense her nephew getting bored and exhausted. If they don't go home, both boys will start their tantrums.
"Alright." He offered a handshake when she wanted to shake his hand. Lloyd suddenly pulled her into his arm and kissed her cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Tumblr media
Lloyd wasn't kidding. The next day he visited her at her house to deliver medicine for Kendall.
She doesn't know I'd the medicine worked well or not, but it made Kendall sleepy. At least this time, he's not crying in pain.
Since Kendall fell asleep, she couldn't pick Mark up at school. That means she needs to ask a favour. "Lloyd, could you get my nephew at school?"
"Am I a chauffeur now?"
She didn't answer. Instead, she gave him a killer gaze at him, which made Lloyd nod. "Alright, but I want to have dinner with you tonight."
******
Never in a million years would Lloyd think he would step into school again.
While he walks around looking for Mark, every mother and nanny who waited for their kids is looking at Lloyd. It's easy to spot him since he's the tallest person in the area. His style is also modest and stylish.
Then he heard a bunch of kids surrounding one kid; he knew who it was.
Mark is standing alone while his classmates are in the group. His cheeks were red because he was frustrated. "Why can't I join the marathon tomorrow?"
"That's because you don't have a father. It's a father-son marathon."
"What if you team up with our gym teacher? Everyone knows he likes your aunty."
Mark stomped his foot. "No!!!" He doesn't want his gym teacher as his running partner, that would be cheating, and Mark doesn't want his teacher to get close to Y/N.
Then he felt a shadow covering him, and he saw his friend stepping back while their eyes looked up.
He raised his head and saw the person he met yesterday, Mister Lloyd.
Suddenly he got an idea; with his little body, he clung to Lloyd's leg like a koala and looked at his friend. "He is my aunt's boyfriend, and I will join the marathon tomorrow with him!!!"
It's not just Mark's friends who were shocked but also Lloyd. This will be the first time an 8-year-old kid dumbfounded Lloyd.

The Teacher and the Mob Boss
Pairing: Mob! Bucky Barnes x Reader
Warnings: Very short mention of an traumatic childhood
I'm froom Germany so please excuse my English an possible mistakes.
enjoy:)
With a deep breath I turn off the engine of my car, let my forehead sink against the steering wheel and close my eyes. I struggle with the need to simply drive home again and snuggle into my bed, which I had to leave far too early this morning. But since I have to finance my love of food, wine and Netflix somehow, I quickly dismiss these thoughts and reluctantly open the car door to get out.
Immediately, the cool September air surrounds me and makes me shiver, in small but steady steps mother nature heralds the autumn and makes the trees that surround the school shine in the most colorful colors.
After grabbing my work bag and locking my car, I walk across the already well-filled school parking lot towards the main entrance. As I have done so many times before, I take the direct route to my classroom and unlock the door, which I immediately let fall back into the lock behind me so that I can enjoy the peace and quiet for a little while longer. I have already done most of the preparations during the holydays, so now I only have to wait for my 2nd graders,to greet them.
I'm just picturing the new school year in my mind when the door to my classroom is yanked open and my colleague is standing in front of me with her eyes wide open, clutching a single piece of paper in her left hand while still holding the doorknob with her right. Her chest rises rapidly and she is audibly out of breath.
I raise an eyebrow questioningly, "Good morning Wanda, is this your new way of early morning exercise?" I grin at her, however this is not reciprocated by her.
"How can you please be in such a good mood?", uncomprehending I look at her, with a shrug of my shoulders I let her know that I have no idea what she means. Wordlessly she hands me the paper.
"This is my class list, I already went through it during the holydays." I look at Wanda over the edge of the paper, her breathing has calmed down by now, but her eyes still look at me uncomprehendingly and also a bit pitifully.
"(y/n) you should read through the letter "B" again more carefully.", I let my eyes glide over the relevant place and indeed, there is a name there that I haven’t read before.
"Charlotte Barnes?", I draw my eyebrows together.
"She was enrolled during the vacations, and her father went to see the principal himself for this."
"Since when does Mr. Stark let parents interfere with his free time? And why are you making such a drama over a new kid?"
"We're talking about Barnes (y/n), James Barnes, Charlotte is his daughter, Barnes daughter will be going to this school, your class to be exact. James Barnes is the biggest ma..." The shrill ringing of the school bell snaps us out of our conversation, I jump up from my chair and rush to the door to greet my students. I look expectantly at Wanda and ask her to leave with a wave of my hand
"(y/n) please listen to m.."
"Wanda not now, I have to greet my students, we will talk later." It is clear to see that Wanda does not like this suggestion, however, she reluctantly leaves my classrooms. After I greet all my students and everyone has found a seat, I go through the attendance list, only to notice that one child is missing."
"Do any of you happen to know where Charlotte Barnes is?" no sooner do I finish this sentence than the door to my classroom is yanked open for the second time that day. Standing in the doorway is a tall, broad built man with ice blue eyes and dark blonde hair, in total contrast to him is a small, petite girl standing in front of him holding the straps of her "Paw Patrol" backpack tightly in her hands, she gives me a bright smile that reveals a gap in her teeth. With firm steps she approaches me and extends a hand "Hi, my name is Charlotte, sorry we're late but Uncle Stevie took too long to do my hair." I get down to her eye level, look briefly at her admittedly rather crooked braids and smile at her "Good morning Charlotte, my name is Mrs. (y/l/n), glad you're here, would you like to go ahead and find a seat." the little girl nods, beaming, and goes to find an empty seat.
"Mrs. (y/l/n) could I speak to you for a moment." "Uncle Stevie" nods his head towards the hallway, at my slight nod, he disappears towards the hallway
"Kids I'll be right back with you, you can talk quietly with each other for so long." No sooner have I spoken than the kids start whispering to each other about their vacation, I on the other hand follow "Uncle Stevie" out into the hallway.
"Mrs. (y/l/n), my name is Steve Rogers and I'm really sorry we were late, I just really don't have much practice with hair clips, usually her dad does her hair, he just had some urgent business to take care of."
"Mr. Rogers, as long as this tardiness was a one-time thing, it's really not a problem, however, I have to admit that it's very unusual for a child to not be brought by their parents on their first day at a new school, if they are still in the child's life."
"Believe me, her father would have loved to bring her, however, he really had to make this appointment urgently." Mr. Rogers takes a step toward me and eyes me appraisingly.
"I understand, however, in my opinion, work should never come before one's child, now if you will excuse me, I have to get back to my class."
Without waiting for a proper response, I give him a curt nod, turn and walk back to my classroom. As I stand in front of my class, I briefly gather my thoughts and try to banish the emerging images from my childhood back into the last cells of my consciousness, where they have been tucked away as best I can for years. Afterwards, I put on my best, if not most honest, smile for my class and begin the lesson.
The school day ends faster than I'd like and before I know it, I'm saying goodbye to my students and handing them over to their parents or the bus drivers.
Now it's just Charlotte and me standing in front of the school waiting for "Uncle Stevie" who’s going to pick Charlotte up.
Just as she is about to tell me her favorite dogs from "Paw Patrol", she interrupts herself with a loud "Papa" and rushes towards a tall man, who takes her in his arms, beaming with joy, and hugs her tightly. Slowly, I walk in their direction so as not to interrupt their greeting. When I finally stand in front of them, Charlotte grins at me and introduces me to her father: "Papa, this is Mrs. (y/l/n), she's my teacher and really nice." He takes note of this information with a grumbling "mhm" and grins at me before turning his attention back to his daughter, "Monkey, will you wait for me in the car, I'd like to talk to Mrs. (y/l/n) for a minute." He then holds the door of a white shiny Mercedes open for her to, which for some reason I hadn't noticed before, and helps her to fasten her seatbelt, when he has turned his back to me I start to examine him, in size and muscle mass he is in no way inferior to Mr. Rogers, his hair is cut short and only single strands of his brown hair hang down into his face. His steel-blue eyes are accentuated even more by his dark-blue designer suit, so that one could sink into it. I am able to escape my thoughts just in time as he carefully slams the door to his car, in which Charlotte is apparently engrossed in a radio play. He gives me a wry smile and extends his hand to me, "Hello Mrs. (y/l/n), my name is James Barnes, am Charlie's father, I thought I'd introduce myself since I learned through Steve that you think it's inappropriate for parents not to be present on the first day of school." Surprised, I look at his face, where a smug grin forms. Before I can answer him, he circles his car and opens the door, but before he gets in, he calls out to me, "It was nice to meet you, I'm sure we'll see more of each other." Puzzled, I look after the car as it drives away. My stupor doesn't last long, however, because shortly afterwards I feel someone approach me.
"I see you've met Mr. Barnes." Wanda looks at me auspicious, as if I've just revealed a huge secret, yet I can also see a spark of concern flashing in her green eyes.
"Yes I did, and I can tell you, I'm not a fan of him." I cross my arms in front of my chest and turn to her "he's arrogant and smug" a disdainful snort escapes me as my gaze settles back on the spot where his car was just a few minutes ago.
"(y/n), you should really be careful with him and not give him a reason to get angry." she gently places her hands on my folded arms, a silent plea to look her in the face.
"Why would I do that, I'm not going to treat him any different than any other parent, just because he walks around here in designer suits and whizzes by in luxury cars doesn't make him any better. Who does he think he is anyway."
"He's the biggest and most dangerous mob boss in our country, that's who he is."
And with this sentence from Wanda, the air gets stuck in my throat, and I look at her with eyes widened in terror.

OHMYGOD HI I NEED TO READ YOUR TAKE ON TEACHER ROSS AND READER AT A SCHOOL DANCE OR PROM. him being in awe of her in a dress, maybe they dance with the kids. i have this image of all the students leaving and its just them in the venue, maybe the DJ plays them one last song?
(a/n: I don’t know how bold you all think teacher!ross would be, but this is what I feel like would happen, and idk whether this is appropriate for the workplace, but this is a fic after all lol.)
I love this I love this I love this.
It’s prom!! And everyone’s so excited and dressed up!! It’s July, it’s really warm and it’s about 7pm and all the kids have got their beautiful dresses and suits on, and it’s just so lovely to see all of them all grown up and having a lovely time!! Obviously all of the teachers are invited, and you immediately knew what dress to wear when you first heard about it. I feel like it would maybe be navy, silky material, long and slinky, little cap sleeve with a v-neck (not too low, professional as ever).
When Ross sees you in it, his jaw drops. He has to take himself to the bar to get a beer, something, anything, because you are truly the most gorgeous person he’s ever seen. He’s wearing a suit (I’m thinking he looks like Brit Awards 2023) and he looks gorgeous himself, obviously. You feel exactly the same when you see him, tucking your loosely curled hair behind your ears as a method of distraction from your pounding heart as he approaches you. You say hello to each other and it’s a bit flirty and giggly because this is the first time you’ve ever seen each other properly dressed up.
The whole night, he can’t stop looking at you. You’re sat with a glass of champagne, maybe looking round the room and listening to everyone and just being present, and some other colleague is chewing his ear off about some new procedure they’re introducing at work. He finds his gaze drifting to you, swallowing heavily as his eyes inevitably rake up your figure and your hair and your lips, your legs crossed at the ankle and the tan skin of them exposed by the slit in your dress. Your eyes travel around the room and eventually fall on him, his gaze already fixed on you, and I feel like a wave of comfort and relief comes over both of you as you see each other. He raises his eyebrows at you and subtly, playfully rolls his eyes at the man essentially shouting in his ear, making you giggle into your champagne. You watch as he excuses himself and comes to sit with you instead, sat next to you at an angle so he’s facing you, asking you what you’re drinking and making small talk, a layer of tension hidden somewhere in every word that leaves your mouths.
The kids interrupt you and are like ‘stop flirting!! coke and dance!!’. I think it’s something like Don’t Stop Believing, and you sing and dance and laugh at the way the kids belt out every lyric, as do you and Ross, and it’s just so lovely.
Like you said yourself, it’s definitely just the two of them left after slightly tipsy, tired students have been ushered into parents’ cars and taxis. You’re trying to tidy the tables a bit, gathering random paper plates and mess that had been left, heels clicking on the floor. The DJ is still there, having been booked until 12, and he’s playing slower, more chill music as you tidy. When Ross walks in, he’s got quite a pace, looking left and right. He looks so tall and broad in his suit, hair still neatly pulled back, relaxing a little when he saw you - ‘I thought you’d left already’. You shake your head no, butterflies in your stomach as he makes his way to you. You kind of stand in silence together for a few seconds before he looks at the DJ, still playing music (a/n: I have the Bridget Jones soundtrack on my record player rn and Me And Mrs Jones is playing, and I feel like they’d dance to this. That’s the vibe.). He knows it’s now or never, because when is he going to get the chance to slow dance in an empty function room with his crush, who he truly believes could very well be the love of his life. He holds his hand out to you, cocking his head to the dance floor - ‘do you want to? last song of the night?’ You nod and take his hand gently, letting him lead you to the middle. You hold each other gently and it’s the first time you’ve ever really been this close, one hand on your waist and holding yours in his other. Swaying side to side slowly, you meet his eyes and they’re so big and dark and soft, and I think this is when you realise you’re in love. I think he knew it already, but from this point forward, it’s like it’s you or no one for him.
You stand on your tiptoes and press a kiss to his cheek, your lips warm on his skin. Before you can fully pull away, he turns his head to you slightly, so your lips are centimetres apart, not even inches, and it doesn’t take long for him to close the minuscule gap. Your lips just fit together so seamlessly and perfectly and it’s heavenly, the song in the background and his hold on you and your long-awaited, much-anticipated first kiss. When he pulls away, you’re both basking in a glow of sorts, and I think when the song ends, he drives you home and kisses you goodnight at your doorstep, waiting for you until you get in the house. You both wake up the next morning in your respective beds, beaming, Ross reaching for his phone and there being a text from you already.

Hermione Granger and the Dramione Shippers - Chapter 5 - the first chapter with some smut
Christmas break came and Hermione left the school to visit her parents. Before leaving she had left a small package on Draco’s desk, nothing fancy, just a few sugar quills, which she knew he loved, and a pair of protective gloves for potion brewing, because she’d had to heal his hands on multiple occasions when he’d had to intervene quickly before a student could blow up the classroom or kill everyone with toxic fumes.
Malfoy would stay in the castle over the holidays, using the excuse of having to watch over the children who didn’t have families, to avoid returning to his own Manor, where the stench of death and the gloom of black magic still hung in the air. He walked with her to the three broomsticks, casting a warming charm over both of them and an impervious charm to protect them from the snow that was slowly falling over the school grounds.
“Have a nice holiday, Hermione.” He said, tucking a lose strand of her hair behind her ear as they reached the pub.
“You too, Draco. Feel free to take books from my room if you want something to read.” She held out her hand to shake his, but instead, he used her hand to pull her into a hug. Hermione felt awkward at first, but then relaxed into the warmth of his chest and lightly kissed his cheek before stepping away to enter the pub to access the floo.
The sky was incredibly blue and the air was extremely cold when she appeared in the backyard of her parents’ house. She was surprised at first, but then remembered that Scotland was very much further up north, sometimes she forgot that. She had flooed from the three broomsticks to the leaky cauldron and apparated from there, it had taken less than two minutes to travel more than 900km.
Her parents were both happy to see her, but, on a closer look, her mother seemed tense. Hermione told them about her job, about Andrew Chapman and how he was now top of his class; she told them about how strange it felt to be working with her own professors but that having a colleague who was her own classmate helped.
“Who is this classmate you work with? Do we know him?” Asked her father.
“You’ve met him once, but he was a nightmare back then. Luckily, now he has changed. We read together, I’m teaching him about muggle literature.” She said with a big smile on her face.
“What’s his name? Is he in the books?” Her mother asked with a clouded expression.
“He is in the books, but he’s not the same anymore, I promise. Malfoy, Draco Malfoy.”
Her mother scoffed. “I guess we’ll find out when we get to read them. They were sold out when we went to buy them.”
Her father wanted to talk about the books and the upcoming movies. He was curious about how the news had been received in the Wizarding World. He then proceeded to update Hermione on the teeth of each of their patients.
When Hermione wished them goodnight, her mother followed her. Before she could step on the stairs, her mother pulled her into their home office.
“Come here, Hermione. I need to talk to you.” She went towards the desk, turned on her computer and showed her a website, it was called AO3. The website itself was rather unimpressive. Hermione didn’t understand what the problem could be with such an innocent-looking website.
“When you asked us to look on the internet to see what came out, we started googling your name and other keywords every day. When we saw that nothing serious appeared, we reduced to once a week.”
She had a strange expression, something in between conspiratorial and ashamed. “Well, two weeks ago I googled your name and some… stuff came up. I have since told your father not to do any more research on you. But after what you said before… what is your relationship with this Malfoy boy?”
“We’re friends, colleagues. Why?” Hermione didn’t understand where this conversation was headed and felt uncomfortable.
“Well, you should read some of this, privately. I don’t know what you can do about it though. I got you a laptop, it’s in your room. You’ll find the links in the browser history.”
“I will mum, thank you.” Her mother left and Hermione went upstairs, washed, put on her pajamas and sat on her bed with the laptop. She opened the browser and searched the history. All links brought to the same website her mother had shown her, AO3. Before reading anything, she decided to find out more about the website itself. AO3 was the acronym for Archive of Our Own. A website, run by volunteers, where people could post fanfiction. She googled the definition of fanfiction first, then started reading the first link in the browser history. It was a short story, ten thousand-ish words. The title was, honestly, rather lame “The Library”.

A sign of life from me (saintscully)
If anyone's still reading, and remembers where I'm from in the world you'll know happened to my country, to my people last Staurday. I am relatively safe but definitely still in shock. My life will never be same. I woke up Saturday morning to the sounds on endless air raids and every belief I had about living here, a piece of land that is an active volcano, proved to be horribly wrong.
I haven't slept since. My mind is going a thousand miles per second, but last night, after a nearly year's long hiatus from fic writing, I remembered a piece I wrote for 'Turned', a story that from start (not yet written) finish, is nothing more than me trying to come to terms with being a Jew. Of putting myself in the shoes of the other side in the conflict.
Liebe's story, which I'll add below, is based on a real anecdote, one of many. A young man pushed by his grandfather into a mass grave - it's a story I read in a Ronen Bergman's book 'Rise and Kill First', and is the real story of one of Mossad's chiefs. His grandfather pushed him, and that's how he was saved. Decades later, he saved countless Jewish lives as head of Mossad. I weaved it into 'Turned' in a way that, unbeknownst to my readers, will be critical to David's story while kidnapped by Abi Nazir.
That story is the kinds of stories we grew up here hearing from our gransparents. I wrote this into Turned as a historical lesson learned.
It happened again this Saturday, to so many people. Parents hiding their 10-months old twins in the closets before being gunned down in their shelter room. Women hiding under heaps of bodies, pretending to be dead. Party-goers rounded up into a circle in a field, gunned down with RPGs and automatic weapons. I heard accounts from Saturday from friends, relatives, colleagues, from ex-military friends currently in reserve duty - whose loved ones were kidnapped into Gaza and are still mising, like pawns in some twisted game, just like David in 'Turned'.
I'll never be the same again.
I'm not coming back to tumblr, and can't fathom coming back to writing these fics, but something in my life came into a very brutal full circle this week. I went back and read this part of the story and it hits so differently now. I feel like such a fool.
I hope you're all well. Thank you for the love and kindness you always showed me.
-Sasha
----
(From 'Turned')
"David was fifteen when the school's headmaster called everyone to assembly. It was a gorgeous, snowy December noon, only a few short hours before their long-awaited Christmas break. The entire student body murmured impatiently as the headmaster escorted a frail old man to one of the chairs onstage.
Impeccable in a three-piece tweed suit, the old man sat with a grunt, never letting go of his cane. The yellow star on his chest and the number tattooed on his arm left very little to the imagination as to who he was and what he was about to tell them.
Little Liebel—as Leonard was called by his family—was eleven when their neighbours rounded up the Jewish men of the village at gunpoint, leading them into the depths of the nearby woodland. Under the cover of a dark, moonless night, the Jews were instructed to strip naked and dig a pit in the frozen ground, then line up along its edges with their hands raised. Standing in the cold with his eyes closed, his teeth rattling loudly, Liebel was surrounded by neighbours and relatives—uncles, cousins, his grandfather.
A burley, rugged man of few words, Liebel's grandfather and namesake held his ground behind him, his chin pointed defiantly. In his decades heading the village's volunteer fire brigade, the elder Liebel saved many lives, including those of many of the men who stood in front of them, guns loaded.
“Skaičiuojant tris,” the village doctor called out, and Liebel drew a deep breath. On the count of three. The truth was, Leonard had confessed, that he’d felt relieved. They’d heard rumours of gas chambers and death camps by then. If one must go, he supposed, then doing so proudly with your family by your side was the way to go.
Suddenly, Liebel felt a warm hand—his grandfather's—covering his back, pushing him over the edge. His small body dove into the pit just as the guns started firing, but his would-be killers never noticed.
His uncle's lifeless body nearly crushed his spine before Liebel ever hit the ground.
Liebel hid under his neighbours and relatives’ bodies whilst they writhed and moaned, begging for help. Gushes of fresh, dark blood kept his naked body warm.
Just before midnight, he watched as life slipped away from his grandfather's cobalt eyes. The grove fell deadly silent. Liebel crawled up the pit, soaked in blood, and never looked back again.
The story stuck with young David for an hour or two that day, as much as a teenager's attention span would allow for a story so unfathomable, so alien. Imagine his surprise when, years later, he’d found himself, sweat-sodden and shaking, standing over an abyss—not in the woodlands of Lithuania, but the arid sands of Afghanistan.
At least, he was quite sure that he was. A combination of powerful sedatives, a sack covering his head and three days of travel crammed into the boot of a car had left him disoriented, but he knew through some sixth sense that he too was standing over a precipice. He had no idea where or why they were there, but there was no mistaking the perplexed battle cries as gunfire shot from every direction. As minutes passed, more and more people crowded next to him over the precipice.
For his captors, something had gone horribly wrong, and they were all about to pay for it.
He'd never been so relieved in his life.
On the other side of their pit, a dozen faceless men loaded their weapons while static filled the desert air. Out in the distance a man yelled words he did not understand. On the count three, he imagined it was. In an unexpected burst of trench musing, he wondered whether the Afghan desert sands had ever been blood-free. Whether they ever would be.
‘I’m coming, love,’ he whispered, closing his eyes despite the sack covering his face. He was ready. ‘See you on the other side.’
And then a warm hand covered the small of his back, pushing him over the edge.
“Jump!” a voice whispered, and there was no mistaking whose it was. “Now!”

Lessons In Love ~ 1
LESSONS IN LOVE MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1,870ish
Summary: Anakin and Padme talk to you and Obi-Wan individually, trying to get you both to see the truth.
Notes: Here’s the first chapter of this! Lol, I probably have too many series out at once but I don’t care. I have to go where the inspiration takes me. The reader’s arthritis and teaching position (and many of the situations) are heavily based on my real life so please be kind.
Tumblr media
You sighed as you stepped out of your car and tried not to slam the door. It was a Monday, which meant the weekend was over and you had to go back to teaching. Not that you hated your job, it was just exhausting and could take a lot out of you. And lately, it had been.
“Good morning, Miss L/N.”
Your lips couldn’t help but form a small smile at the sound of your coworker's voice. It was rough, yet smooth somehow. You turned to face Obi-Wan, trying not to swoon at how attractive you found him. His short auburn hair with the matching well-groomed beard helped bring out his sparkling blue eyes. He was wearing dark brown slacks and a cream long-sleeve button-down with his satchel thrown over his shoulder and across his body.
“Good morning, Mr. Kenobi,” you replied. “Are you ready for this week?”
“Always,” he smiled at you. “You?”
“Oh, you know me, Mondays are always my favorite.”
He laughed and your heart filled with so much joy. Obi-Wan’s laugh was one of your favorite sounds ever since you had heard it a little over a year ago.
Obi-Wan joined the faculty last school year as a fifth-grade teacher. He immediately caught the eye of many of the women and men on the faculty with his looks. His charm and wit didn’t help ease any of that. You weren’t saved from the school-girl crush on him and as you actually got to know him, it worsened. You never did anything about it though as you didn’t know how dating a colleague would work out and you had no idea how he felt about you due to the fact he seemed to flirt with everyone on the staff.
“How was your weekend?” Obi-Wan wondered as he walked side-by-side with you.
“Not long enough,” you answered. “Spent most of it around my apartment, just trying to recover from last week.” Obi-Wan nodded along as you spoke. “How was yours?”
“It was good.” He opened the school door, holding it open for you. You walked in, giving him a thankful nod as he kept talking. “I spent a majority of it reading.”
“Oh? What were you reading?”
“My student’s stories,” he chuckled.
“Makes sense,” you smiled.
The two of you walked down the halls together, chatting, until you reached your classrooms. Your classroom was located right across the hall from his. Sometimes you would catch yourself staring at Obi-Wan as he taught. His students were always so engaged in his lessons and respected him. You longed to have the students view you similarly.
“Well, I hope you have a good day, Y/N,” Obi-Wan said before heading into his classroom.
“You too, Obi-Wan,” you replied, going into your own.
You went to your back u-shaped table and sighed as you sat down. Your elbows went on the tabletop and your head rested in your hands. When you told Obi-Wan that you spent the weekend recovering, you meant it. Last week had been hard on your arthritic body. You have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it really acted up last week due to the stress of your class. Though you loved your students, you had the hardest class in the grade, and most of their parents not helping with that. You were beginning to feel like more of a babysitter than a teacher, unable to actually teach because you were too busy handling the behavior problems in the class.
“Hey,” you looked up to see one of the third-grade teachers, Padme Amidala, coming into your room. “How are you?”
“I’m fine,” you responded, pressing out a small smile.
“I don’t believe you.” Padme came up and pulled out one of the chairs on the other side of the table so that she could sit across from you. “Hard weekend?”
“Hard last couple weeks.”
“I’m sorry.”
Padme was your teacher-bestie. She taught second grade in the next hall over. She was also the only one at the school who knew about your chronic illness. She could easily read you, especially when it was a hard body day.
“It’s fine,” you brushed off. “Nothing I can’t handle.”
Padme sighed, hating how you often brushed aside how your body was feeling to help your students or others. “You can take a day off, you know?”
“I know. But my students aren’t ready for a sub to come in yet and writing sub plans is far too much work.”
“Y/N,” Padme’s tone and look gave no room to second guess her disappointment, “you need to take care of yourself.”
“I will. When I need to. I’m fine right now.”
Padme shook her head, knowing that she wasn’t going to win the fight today. You were stubborn, something that came as both a great strength and weakness.
“I saw that you walked in with Obi-Wan this morning,” Padme failed to suppress the teasing smirk that crossed her lips.
“That’s nothing new, Padme,” you responded with a sigh. “We walk in together most mornings.”
“I know, but today just seemed different.”
“Padme, I’ve told you, he doesn’t see me that way and I don’t have the emotional wherewithal to be able to be in a relationship right now.”
“Y/N,” Padme sighed, “you don’t see the way Obi-Wan looks at you.”
“Can we really not do this right now? I need to get ready for the day.”
“Yes, of course.” Padme stood up. “Please let me know if you need anything, okay?”
“Okay.”
~~~
“So, you make a move yet?” Anakin was smirking as he leaned against the doorway to Obi-Wan’s classroom.
“Anakin!” Obi-Wan exclaimed, rushing over to see if there was a way you could have heard him.
“Relax,” Anakin laughed. “She closed her door. Besides, I haven’t even said her name, so she couldn’t possibly know who we’re talking about.” Obi-Wan shook his head, going back to writing something on the large, front whiteboard. “You never answered my question.” Anakin pushed himself off of the doorframe and went over to lean on one of the student desks in the front of the room. “Have you made a move yet?”
“Anakin, you know my answer to that.” Obi-Wan turned to look at his friend.
The younger man scoffed. “All of your answers are excuses. Principal Yoda has already said that dating within the faculty is allowed, but we must be careful.”
“Yes, like you and Padme are so careful. Especially since one of her younglings caught the two of you kissing in your classroom.”
“Hey! She told me it was locked!”
“Still, Anakin, I will not do it.”
Anakin shook his head, knowing that this arguing was no use, they’d run these circles before. “She does like you too, you know. Padme has told me that much.”
Obi-Wan tried not to make a big deal of the new information Anakin had just admitted. He turned back to his whiteboard.
“Fine, you two can be miserable then,” Anakin relented, “pinning for each other across the hall and giving each other longing looks when the other isn’t looking. If that’s how you want to live, that’s fine by me. I’ll see you after school.”
Anakin left and Obi-Wan hung his head. He didn’t want to just look at you longingly. He wanted to know you better than anyone else, even yourself. He wanted to help you and comfort you and wanted you to have the opportunity to do the same for him. But he didn’t know how to go about it without risking his friendship with you or making work awkward. Being a teacher was already hard enough—especially with the class you were given this year—Obi-Wan couldn’t make coming to work even more difficult for you.
~~~
You were on the verge of tears. Your hard student was being extremely rough today; running around the classroom, screaming, squeaking, squawking, and throwing things, all while you were trying to teach. The Vice Principal, Mace Windu, had to come down and take the student from your classroom. Only then were you able to finish your lesson and then send your students off to recess and lunch.
You had decidedly stayed in your classroom for your own lunch, not wanting to face anyone after that. You were feeling more and more like a failure as a teacher because you couldn’t figure out a way to handle this one student. You took a seat in your teacher's chair at your u-shaped table. Taking a deep breath, you tried to stop the tears that threatened to come. Your hands were shaking ever so slightly as the pain of arthritis started to radiate from your wrists. You clenched your fists, trying to stop the trembling.
“Y/N?”
You jumped as your head snapped up to look at the door. Obi-Wan was standing in the doorway with a look of clear concern on his face.
“Are you alright?” He asked, taking a step into the classroom.
“Y—Yeah,” you stuttered, trying to get a hold of yourself. “I’m fine.”
Obi-Wan shut the door before coming further into the room. “Are you sure?” His eyes bounced from your tear-filled eyes to your hands and back to your eyes again. “I saw that Mace had to come in and get your… special friend.”  He pulled up one of the stools on the opposite side of the table you are sitting at and sat himself down.
“Yeah… couldn’t handle it myself.” You stuffed your hands between your legs, trying to suppress the trembling.
“That’s okay. You don’t have to handle all of that. No one was meant to handle everything on their own. That’s why we have teams and other faculty members.”
You nodded, staying silent and avoiding his blue eyes. You knew that if you met his eyes that you would completely lose it. Obi-Wan knew that you were avoiding his gaze and it hurt him to know that you were struggling so much.
“What I can do to help you?” He asked softly, trying to get you to meet his gaze.
“Nothing,” you shook your head. “I’m fine.”
“Darling,” the term of endearment slipped from his lips without control, “I don’t believe you.”
You finally barely met his gaze. “I’ll be fine.” You shrugged. “It’s the job.”
“Y/N—“
You glanced at the clock on the wall across from the room. “You need to go pick up your students from the lunchroom.”
Obi-Wan sighed. “Please let me know if you need anything the rest of the day. You don’t need to handle this on your own.”
You nodded. “Thank you.”
Obi-Wan stood up, disliking the idea of leaving you in such a state as this. He knew you were struggling and just longed to help you. As he gave you one last look over his shoulder, he finally saw a few tears slip down your cheeks. His heart cracked as he slipped out of the room, becoming determined to do whatever it took to help you.

Room 210 P.P
Science Teacher! Peter Parker x English Teacher Reader
Summary: It was your first-day teaching. Everything was new to you. The school, the students, the staff. One particular science teacher catches your eye.
CW: Peter is like 25-26 in this, fluffy teacher Peter
--------------------------------------------------------------
The hallways were much more confusing than you had anticipated. Despite you showing up to work over an hour early, you still found it difficult to find your room so you could begin setting up your room. Today was Parent's day, meaning all the parents would be coming in to meet the teachers. You would be lying if you said you weren't terrified. Although you had great grades and recommendations from college, this was still your very first actual teaching job. You wanted to make a great impression on everyone; your peers, the parents, and most importantly your future students.
After walking in circles for what seemed like forever, you finally found your assigned room. Room 210. You quickly began unpacking the things you had in your bag. Some desk decor, some of the recommended summer reading books, and a picture of your dog now sat atop of your desk. As you began to survey the room, you heard a slight knock on the door. You jumped when you turned to see a tall, handsome man standing in the doorframe.
"Hi, you're the new grade 10 English teacher right?" the man said smiling. You nodded. The man couldn't have been any older than you. He was well-groomed, sporting a slight beard with his hair perfectly pushed back. He was wearing a light blue button-up with a loosely tied black tie.
"Where are my manners? I'm Peter. I teach grade 10 Chemistry and grade 11 Physics. I'm your neighbor." he said motioning to the door across the hall from your room; Room 211.
"Hi! I'm Y/F/N." You said excitedly reaching your hand out to shake his. His hand met yours for a brief handshake. His hands were soft but also near twice the size of yours. There was no way you could crush on on of your colleagues on the first day of work. You also didn't see a ring on his left hand. But no, you had to shake any of those thoughts. You just moved to this school. You had to let people get to know you.
"The students here are pretty great but fair warning, some of them are a handful" he said laughing.
"Oh really? Between you and I, this is my first official teaching job." you say shly.
"I know, I could smell it from a mile away," he said looking at you.
"You looked terrified when you walked into the building," he said smiling again.
"Really, is it that noticible" you groaned, pushing some of the hair out of your face.
"No, I'm just messing with you. You seem super sweet, I'm sure the kids will love you." he said making his way to the other side of your desk.
His hands traced some of the books laying on your desk.
"Great Gatsby huh?" he said picking the book out of the stack.
"Yeah...I loved reading it in high school and wanted to share it with my students."
"Really? I always preferred the movies to this type of thing," he said quickly flipping to the book.
"For me, nothing compares to reading the scene where we first meet Daisy," you say, your face lighting up. He flashed you a smile.
"So English is definitely your thing, I'll stick to the science and math stuff," he said placing the book back down.
You laugh at this statement.
"Please, I sucked at all that stuff in school, reading and writing came easy."
"And science came easy to me," he said now looking deep in your eyes. You were so immersed in the conversation, you failed to realize how pretty he was. His chocolate brown eyes glowed in the bright florescent lights of your classroom. A few wrinkles lined his face, you assumed from the stress of grading which you would soon have to face. Despite this, he still had this incredibly boyish charm about him. A charm that made you want to get to know him more.
"Is that yours?" he said breaking both the short silence that fell over the room as well as eye contact with you to point at the small framed picture you had on your desk. It was your dog, Milo. A small white maltese.
"Yep, my pride and joy. My favorite furbaby," you said glancing at the picture smiling.
"Cute. What's his or her name?" he said grinning.
"His name is Milo. I feel kinda bad for leaving him home alone for work nowadays." you say, your lips forming into a pout.
"Hey, now you have something to look forward to when you get home." he said placing the photo back down. You nodded.
"That is true," you said, agreeing with him.
"I actually have a dog myself...maybe we should plan a dog playdate one day...you know, outside of school." he said looking down at the floor.
"Really? I'd love that, a lot. I don't have any friends in the city yet...neither does Milo."
"Great!...okay, I lied about having a dog but I would still love to show you around the city one day." he said lightly.
You chuckled.
"I don't know if I want some nutty professor who lies about owning a dog to show me around the city," you say laughing.
"Look, I blanked, I'm sorry. I just haven't seen someone as pretty as you...ever," he said.
This statement caught you by surprise. You thought the guy was cute to but you had no idea he would say that.
"You think I'm pretty?" you say in a teasing voice.
"Yes," he says barely above a whisper.
"Help me through Parent's day and I'll see if I can make time..." you say readjusting the picture he moved.
"You know where to find me," he said smiling and slowly walking across the hallway.
"This is going to be a interesting year, Y/N," he said, standing against the doorframe of his classroom.
Interesting was an understatement, but Peter made everyday at your new school worthwhile. The students fell in love with you (you were almost convinced its because Peter threatened them with detention if they acted out in your class). You loved the staff and administration team and most of all, you grew to love your across the hall neighbor. By year 3 at your new school, you shared his last name and the two of you made a beautiful family of your own. A family that would soon end up in the frame sitting on your desk.

Next prompt I wrote.
This time our fandom is Pokémon.
Pairing: Guzma/Reader
Step by step
Finally the workday is over. And at last it's the weekend. You have more than earned this time off. This week had been particularly exhausting, but you also wanted to prepare your students properly for their upcoming exams. And you also wanted to prepare them for the upcoming new rotation of the island challenge. While you slowly packed up your materials, you thought back to the time when you yourself had tackled the tasks that then consisted of the island challenges. You had never had the opportunity to master them completely. At that time, however, you were almost too old at 14 to even start. Your parents back then were simply overcautious. Before that, you had only ever listened to the stories of your friends, who continued to stick by you even after their travels. Then, just before your fifteenth birthday, your family moved to Johto and you had to break everything off and leave your friends behind. At this thought you couldn't help but chuckle.
Your briefcase in your hands, now packed, you left the classroom. Around you there was the usual commotion of students and their parents. Everyone was in a hurry to leave for the end of today's school day. You heard various people saying goodbye to you as you passed by and also returned a farewell remark. "Just a quick stop by the teachers' lounge and then off home.", you thought and went back to your nostalgic thoughts.
You had spent eight years in Johto before you were old enough and had enough money to move back home. Since then, you've been working as a teacher at the trainer school. At first, of course, only as a substitute while you continued your education. Many of your colleagues were extremely skeptical when they learned more about you. But you didn't care. In the meantime, even those doubts had passed. It has been a rough ride since your return. Your wish to continue exactly where you had to stop back then had unfortunately not come true. At least not right away.
"Heading home?", you heard the voice of the current guest lecturer, and you turned to face him. "Kukui. Hadn't noticed you at all. Yeah, it's finally my weekend.", you replied to the still young professor as you slightly cocked your head to the side and smiled.
"How's Burnet?", you wanted to know further from your old friend. He had to laugh. "She's doing all right so far. She thinks she can't wait for the finale to come, though."
"I can imagine that. When is the calculated due date?"
"In 3 weeks."
"Then it won't be much longer,", you said cheerfully. Suddenly he looked at you with a firm expression.
"And what are your plans for the future? Are you being treated well?", he wanted to know in a serious voice. You had to laugh for a moment. Him asking you if you were planning kids was absurd.
"Nah, cool it. We've got enough on our plate right now.", you deliberately ignored the second question.
With a glance at your watch, you continued, "I'll be on my way now. He should be done with his community service for the day by now, too."
"Okay, take care.", was Kukui's farewell.
That Kukui. He's way too overprotective, too. Just like your parents. While you continued down the road toward Hau'oli City, your trip down memory lane continued. It took long enough for you and Guzma to get things sorted out to continue your relationship. That had been the hardest part of moving back then. It had been young teenage love in those days and when you came back, neither he nor you knew if it could be something that was going to work in the future. In addition, he had gotten involved in things he didn't want you mixed up in. It took him a long time to get over his own fear and let you back into his life.
When you finally arrived in front of your apartment building, you pulled your keys out of your pocket and unlocked the door. Just a quick climb up the stairs to the second floor and you would finally be able to put on more comfortable clothes.
As you opened your apartment door, you could already hear the ruckus. "Fuck this shit.", it boomed repeatedly, followed by a crack. Closing the door behind you, you took off your shoes. Angry footsteps from the study announced your boyfriend's approach. As soon as he stepped into the hallway and into your field of vision, he froze. In his hands he held the sad remains of one of your decorative accessories. It was completely flattened. "Babe, you're back already," Guzma began, seeming to ponder how he could explain the state of your décor. "What happened?", you set your bag down with an amused sigh.
Guzma's right hand rubbed the back of his neck and his undercut. This has always been a nervous habit of his. "I thought I could reach my stuff on top of the closet...probably would have been smarter to use a stepladder after all," he paused as you took the remnants from his hand to look at them closely.
The wooden decorative cube had now become a not so decorative wooden disc. You couldn't help but laugh. It just looked too funny. Shaking with laughter, you pressed out, "How did that happen?" Your opposite cleared his throat while still running his hand over the back of his neck. "I might have fallen on it.", he muttered. Your laughter intensified. You let the ruined piece of furniture fall to the floor with a clatter and hunched over with laughter. "Tse, you know it did hurt a fair bit. There were spiky edges and shit on it.". You tried to calm yourself down again with deep breaths, and for the most part you succeeded. "Let me see. Where did you land on it?". Guzma turned his back to you and pulled up his white shirt. You could still see some marks. There were also a few scratches visible, which had made it through the shirt. "Aww, I'm sorry about that.", you comforted him, now no longer chuckling. "And that's only because my shit is just always out of reach.", he grumbled.
You pondered. He was right. Basically, his stuff, which he had brought with him, was always put away and thus out of reach, or was often lying around in the way, so that you either tripped over it or got annoyed because everything always looked messy. Also, you knew that if he was missing something, he had to go back to his parents to fetch it. And you didn't like it when he went back there too often. Guzma's relationship with his parents had never been the best. But since he had rebelled against his father's future wishes for him, the relationship had fractured even further. It had reached its lowest point when Guzma had to tell his parents that he had not made it to Trial Captain. His father was furious at the time and had tried to smash Guzma's previous trophies as well as Guzma himself. Since then he had rarely been home. Eventually not at all. Before you moved away, you were always at his side. Patching him up when it became more violent. Those times made you both stronger in your opinion. His dad's violent outbursts made his childhood so much worse. That was why in the end he had taken over Po Town, which had been destroyed by Tapu Bulu, and settled down in the Shady House. For Team Skull's actions and his connection to the Ultraspace incidents, he now had 100 more hours of community service ahead of him. In addition to the 200 he had already done, he was also working primarily with Kahuna Hala to improve his trainer capabilities. Guzma was a strong trainer who was both tactically astute and cool-headed. However, he had to learn that he should not underestimate his opponent. Otherwise, he would make mistakes that would result in his defeat.
"You're right.", you said in deep thought. Guzma turned back to you, his expression slightly confused. "Maybe I just need to make some space here.", you continued to mumble, still in contemplation. "Make space?", Guzma snapped you out of your train of thought. You looked into his stormy gray eyes, nodded, and began to smile. "In order for you to have more room for your stuff here, some of my stuff has to go. It's really that simple." He was still looking at you with a mixture of confusion and something else. Was it insecurity? Maybe you just had to straight up nudge him toward it.
"Like moving in together? You spend all your time here anyway.", you concluded. Epiphany came to his eyes. "Are you sure about this? Then you can't kick me out when you're mad at me.". "When have I ever kicked you out?", you wanted to know a bit irritated. He shrugged:"May yet come."
You rolled your eyes, picked up the trash from the floor, and walked into the kitchen to throw it out. "Uh-huh.", was your curt response to that. It made you angry that he insinuated something like that. Who of the two of you was not capable of putting his feelings into meaningful words?
As far as you could and wanted to assess, your way of communicating was not perfect, but it was still more constructive than his most of the time. You refrained from commenting on it, however, and began to look in the refrigerator for a possible dish that you could throw together quickly. Gradually, hunger made itself apparent. "I brought you something on the way home.", Guzma's voice reached out from behind you. He was casually leaning against the door frame to the kitchen with his arms folded in front of him. When you looked in his direction, he nodded his head towards the counter, where there was a small plastic bag. When you unwrapped it, your beloved stir-fried noodles appeared. They also seemed to be still hot enough. "Thank you," you grinned towards him and organized some utensils to enjoy your meal. "You haven't given me an answer yet," you spoke with your mouth full. His slight grin over your beaming face flickered briefly with uncertainty. His right hand went to the back of his neck a second time. "You know me better than anyone." he said flustered. "You always have." he added barely audible. "If you think that's a good idea, I'll get the rest of my stuff tomorrow or dispose of it and then I can move in here."
"What do you mean, 'if I think that's a good idea'? Sure I think it's a good idea. Otherwise, I wouldn't be suggesting it.", was your answer to him. Short silence hung in the kitchen as you looked at him as he seemed to be watching you closely. Maybe he wanted to find something in your facial expression or posture to dismiss your suggestion with a joke. You didn't want to give him that chance. Your tender smile continued to grace your face. "Okay. Then I'll text Hala right now that I won't be with him until later tomorrow. I'll do it in the morning then.", Guzma pushed himself off the door frame with his shoulder and left the kitchen. A short time later you could hear the television. You took your noodles and followed him to the sofa. He was sitting there with his smartphone in his hand. You put your noodles on the living room table and waited for him to put his phone aside. When he did, you took his hands into yours and looked him firmly in the eyes.
"I really want you to move in here. Please don't doubt me or yourself. I don't know what the future holds, all I know is that I hope you're in it.", you tried to make him forget whatever doubts he still had.
Finally a grin appeared on Guzma's face, making him the person you fell in love with a decade ago.

A SIGN OF HOPE - THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL
Tumblr media
Miraculous medal, front and back
Luky:
THE SEVENTH of November has always been a red letter day in my life, as it marks the birthday of a near and dear one. When she was small she'd be counting the weeks and days leading up to it for months, giving us no chance to forget it.
One year's birthday was probably a lot different. As mother (at the time) of two and expecting her third child in another six months' time, she had enough to occupy her mind.
All the same, I phoned her that morning and she enthused about the lovely gifts her husband had brought her.
Unsuspecting
I on my side had good news too. My own husband, having successfully got over his operation, was coming home the next morning. We mutually expressed our pleasure and rang off.
Little did I know then that I was about to remember November the 7th for quite a different reason.
Just before ten that morning one of the matrons of the local hospital telephoned me. My husband was back in the intensive care unit of the surgical ward, she said, and she was sure I'd be wanting to see him to encourage him as soon as I could.
A nod is as good as a kick to a willing horse, so I went to my boss and got permission to go to the hospital.
Plugged in
Having arrived there I found my husband lying on a bed, tubes and bottles attached to several parts of his body. He was barely able to speak but the matron had explained to me that he had either got a clot in the lung, known a a pulmonary embolism, or in the heart; called a coronary thrombosis.
He had complained of a very severe pain across his chest. "I've nursed Mr Whittle for years", the matron said, "and I know him well enough to be aware that by the time he finally complains there is something seriously wrong."
Strong friend
I can't tell you how kind everyone was. As parents of one of the hospital's student nurses at the time, we received VIP treatment.
My old neighbour grabbed me as I was leaving the hospital on my way to I know not where and steered me back to the ward. She's a nursing sister and midwife and was a tower of strength to me in the eight years we lived next door to each other. It was like living next door to my doctor.
Complicated prang
When I pranged my car that morning, trying to get out of a parking place, three men helped to liberate me. If you gave me five thousand rand to repeat what I must have done to steer my car into such a position, I'd have to decline because I just don't understand how I managed it.
Please pray
Early next morning I telephoned my sister. My husband was on the critical list and my brother-in-law came to the phone and asked what he could do.
"Take all your children to church now on their way to school and have them pray a Hail Mary for their uncle", I pleaded.
He did that and more. That afternoon as I arrived again at the hospital, he was sitting outside my husband's ward. He had taken the day off and spent four hours driving my mother and sister to see me. I've always thought that man was a jewel; now I have proof.
My mother stayed and looked after the children for the next few days, much of which I spent as hospital.
It's good to have a family.
More to come
A second clot was to pass through my husband's lung before his agony was over. I received a letter from my colleagues at the office; all of them had gone into one office and prayed together for my husband's recovery. Everybody was praying, especially the lady who worked for us.
"I was so scared Mr Whittle was dying", she said.
The younger children, aware of the tension, became unbearable, looking for attention, arguing and quarrelling and crying hysterically over nothing.
Interesting incident
The day I knew things would improve I was seated in a little room outside the intensive care unit, talking to my daughter. I had been given permission to look in at my husband on the half-hour.
She had taken off her miraculous medal and handed it to me to put round her father's neck.
We were talking and I was gesticulating with the hand which held the medal. Suddenly I looked down on my knee, and there to my astonishment I found that the chain had arranged itself into the shape of that peculiar broad flat "M" on the back of the miraculous medal.
People have laughed at my assertions of miracles all my life so I said nothing about it. I wanted to make sure I wasn't mistaken.
'That's odd", I said to my daughter, "What does this remind you of?"
"The M on the back of the miraculous medal", she said. "And look next to it, that's a heart shape, also found on the back of the medal."
"Your father will be all right now", I said after marvelling for a little while, and handed her back her chain. "He won't need this."
I went into the ward and spoke to the heart specialist.
"Your husband is improving", he informed me, "though he's not out of danger yet."
It was all I could do not to tell him he was wrong. With such a powerful patroness as our Lady showing her very personal concern, I knew that no power on earth could prevent my husband from recovering.
Catherine Nicolette
Dad went on to make an uneventful recovery - an amazing turnaround as he had been critically ill. I have great devotion to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and both Mom and I received much comfort from the configuration of the chain. Do I believe this was a sign from God? The comfort I received when I saw the symbols of holiness was deep. In that moment I knew: all will be well.
Having been witness to many signs and wonders from God throughout my life, I would encourage you to look out in your own life for those moments in which God is present with comfort and hope.
The Miraculous Medal is a holy devotion which brings special spiritual protection and comfort. Why not find out more?

Highly-Regarded Physician Chose Ohio County Schools, Wheeling Park High School
Tumblr media
At a transitional age, Seattle physician Dr. Jason Kettler had the opportunity choose where he wanted to attend school.   He chose Ohio County Schools and Wheeling Park High School, and he is sure he made the right decision.   Kettler is a highly-regarded infectious disease specialist for Kaiser Permanente, which is a national healthcare consortium based in Oakland, California. He has been recognized by his colleagues and featured in multiple publications for his work as an exceptional medical professional. Kettler is humble in discussing the recognition he’s earned, but he said such appreciation does bolster one’s confidence.   Kettler earned his doctoral degree in medicine in 1998 from West Virginia University. He served his residency at WVU Hospitals Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and he completed an infectious disease fellowship at Wake Forest University. Kettler earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from WVU in 1994.   Kettler is a 1990 graduate of Wheeling Park High School. He attended the former Kruger Street Elementary School, Elm Grove Elementary School and what was then known as Bridge Street Jr. High.   Kettler was an excellent student, and his parents were well aware of his tremendous potential. Prior to entering seventh grade, they let him decide where he wanted to attend school.   “My parents allowed me to have the final say, and I wanted to go to Bridge Street,” Kettler said. “I felt like I was getting a quality education, and I preferentially chose to go to public school when I had the opportunity to go to a private school. I am absolutely a strong advocate for public education.”   Kettler said he truly enjoyed his years at Wheeling Park High School. He said he took part in a rigorous curriculum with quality educators.   “I feel like my English and my science tracks were first rate and really prepared me for my next phase of education,” Kettler said. “There are excellent teachers at Park. I still have really fond memories of my favorite teachers. Barbara Sterling in basic and advanced science was one of them. Karen Moore taught English and advanced composition, and she was excellent.”   Kettler loves music, and he is a talented singer. He said he enjoyed the Wheeling Park Music Department, and he was fond of music teachers Leslie and Pat Garrett. Kettler enjoyed being a member of Young Patriots choir, and musical skills taught to him at Park benefitted him as a singer beyond high school.   “I joined the Seattle Men’s Chorus in 2006,” Kettler said. “My history with Young Patriots gave me the confidence to feel that I could take part in a large singing group. I feel I received a quality education. I knew the music department was great, and you also knew the theater department was excellent. I always went to the fall play and the spring musical. Everyone knows that aspect was always exceptional.”   Read the full article

BABYLON || MARK LEE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Mark × girl!reader (+ Jaemin, but not as a love interest)
Genre: angst, arranged marriage!AU
Word Count: 2.1k+
⚠️Warnings: none. Or maybe a mention of sex like once.
A/N: in case you're wondering: you can absolutely read this as a one-shot but yes, I decided to make a series out of Yuta’s fic because I like to overwork myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway, it’ll involve all nine members of Nct 127 and this one is about Mark, who isn’t even my bias but manages to make me fall in love with him every time :’) Enjoy it <3
🌼Nct 127 Arranged Marriage!AUs Masterlist
🌼Act I - Act II - Act III
Summary: You knew it'd be your turn sooner or later as well. You knew how the world you lived in worked, and you were well aware of the fact that you'd be another victim of an arranged marriage too, just like the other dozens of children who were part of that society. You just didn't think it'd happen so fast and unexpectedly. But above all, you could have never imagined the man whom your parents wanted you to marry was the same who, some years prior, had made you fall for him, letting you end up with a broken heart.
Tumblr media
It's a chill night of December, and you're standing on the balcony of a huge mansion that belonged to a wealthy couple, friends of your parents. You're taking a short break from what is currently being one of the roughest evenings of your life, feeling the need to spend a moment alone to cool off a bit. Behind the closed French doors, a bright row of chandeliers lights up the vast dining room where countless groups of dressed-up people are chatting while sipping some expensive Italian wine. Among all those rich families, there's yours as well, too busy kissing their boss' feet to notice your disappearance.
The cool breeze sends a shiver down your spine, reminding you of the light dress you're wearing, but despite the cold temperature, you're reluctant to head inside, unwilling to go back to the fake smiles and dull conversations.
Another reason why you'd rather freeze to death than join the people in the dining room is a boy your age named Mark Lee.
Mark Lee, son of your parents' boss.
Best student in your faculty.
A wunderkind in the music field.
An innocent, sweet, dear boy.
The perfect son, perfect student, perfect friend.
Everyone's favorite, Mark Lee.
Your ex-boyfriend, Mark Lee.
The boy who's had your heart in his hands since freshmen year of high school, only to break it into million pieces four years later, right before starting college. You even tried to be at least friends, but it didn't work out, above all because of the resentment you felt towards him, and now you only say words of hatred every time you talk to each other. Unfortunately for you, Mark is always your parents' boss' son, reason why you have to see his face even outside the campus, during dinners between your families or, like in this case, at the Annual Party.
You've always seen this event as a shallow business rendezvous among colleagues who pretend to like each other for one night, but the thing you despise the most about it is the engagement announcements. Wealthy entrepreneurs giving fifteen minutes-long speeches to let everybody know their kids will get married. No need to say that these marriages are always arranged by the parents for the sake of their businesses, not caring if their children are happily in love or not. Some of them get lucky, eventually falling in love with each other, but the majority is often condemned to a life full of pain and infidelity.
This year is Yuta's turn, one of your ex's closest friends, and rumor has it that he and his almost-fiancee have been sleeping together for a while now. "They belong to the lucky ones," you think, pressing your arms together to find a bit of warmth, and right when you finally consider the idea of going back inside, a voice calls your name, startling you. «What are you doing here all alone?»
«Jaemin, it's you.»
«Who else did you think I was? Mark?» he asks with a mocking tone, emphasizing the last word. You roll your eyes and decide to ignore what he's just said. «I'm kidding! I know you'd never want to see him,» he adds, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
You and Jaemin have been best friends since birth, not only because you live right next to each other but also because your parents are both colleagues and long-standing friends. You even used to have a little crush on him when you were kids, but then you met Mark, and... well, he turned your heart upside down.
«However, I'm afraid you'll have to see him soon,» he continues, «your parents want you to join them now. The Nakamotos are about to announce Yuta's engagement, but Mr. Lee said he has something important to tell everyone first.»
You raise an eyebrow, perplexed. Mark's dad never participated in the engagement announcements and would usually let his wife speak whenever he had something to say. That's why it's taken you by surprise to know that he would give a public speech. «Something important? Like what?»
«I don't know; he didn't say anything else. Even Mark has no clue,» he shudders, «anyway, we should really go if you don't want to make your parents mad. Besides, it's freezing here.» He grabs your hand and leads you back to the main hall, where everyone is now sitting, impatiently waiting for Mr. Lee to speak.
When your dad sees you're with Jaemin, he shoots you a glare, hoping no one else would notice you're holding hands. He knows you're just friends, and he trusts Jaemin, even more than his own daughter, but other people don't, and he's afraid they might spread false rumors about you. And this would be highly inconvenient, given what's about to happen.
As soon as you reach the table where your parents are sitting along with the Lee family, Mark's dad walks to a small stage, grabs a microphone, and begins to speak. «Good evening, everyone! Now that we're all gathered here, I would like to make an announcement!» You look at Jaemin, who's sitting a few tables away, and you both snicker at Mr. Lee's excessively solemn voice tone, reminding you why he rarely gives public speeches.
«As you all know, the Annual Party is a cheerful occasion that allows us to spend a fun time with people who aren't only our colleagues, but our friends as well.» You have to hold back a disapproving sound at that one, but no one seems to notice it.
«However, we also know that the most awaited moment of the night is the engagement announcements. This year, we said that there would be only one, but we lied.» He makes a brief pause, and an indistinct chatter suddenly fills the space around you, only to fall back silent when he starts speaking again.
«Actually, there will be two engagement announcements tonight.»
An unexpected panicked feeling takes over your whole body, and your eyes go immediately to Mark to see his reaction, but he looks as confused as you.
"Is he going to announce Mark's engagement?" you think, unable to explain why this only thought has made you suddenly sad. "As if my heart weren't broken enough."
You don't have much time to brood about it, though, since the man who's just stood up to join Mr. Lee on the stage is your father. Now your alarmed gaze is directed towards Jaemin, and he looks at you at that same moment. «What's happening?» you mouth and your best friend shakes his head, even if you both have a clear answer to your question.
«My friends,» your dad starts talking, «we're glad to inform you that my beloved daughter and the heir of the Lee & Kim Firm, his son,» he adds, hinting at Mark's father, «are now officially engaged.»
A loud round of applause follows the unexpected announcement, and everyone is now looking at your table with a sly smile on their faces while some of them even stand up to congratulate you. In the middle of that outburst of illusory happiness, the only thing you're able to do is look at Mark in disbelief while he mouths an inaudible "I didn't know it."
And you didn't know it either. You had absolutely no clue your parents had agreed to let you marry Mark Lee.
The disappointment and anger in your eyes are noticeable when you turn to your mother, silently asking for an explanation. Why? is the question written on your face. Why have you done this to me? They knew about your break-up: it's not like they thought you were still together. And they knew how many tears you shed because of him, how much pain he gave you. Why would they want you to get even more hurt?
«I'm not marrying him,» you suddenly yell at your father, standing up.
Everybody has now gone silent. Your mom squeezes your arm, begging you to be quiet and sit down, while your dad gives you a death stare. «Yes, darling, you are. Don't be silly now,» he says in a falsely sweet voice.
«I don't want to marry him, and you can't oblige me!» you cry, making the boy in front of you stand up too. Before your father can kill you in front of all those people, Mark grabs your wrist and, after a barely audible apology, drags you out of the hall.
«Have you gone mad?» you shout when he slackens the grip on your wrist. «What the hell is wrong with you?» you then add, giving him a dirty look.
«What the hell is wrong with you!» he replies. «Do you want our parents to make a bad impression in front of everyone?»
«If this is what it takes to make this deceiving facade of perfect harmony fall down, then yes, I do! How does nobody realize this is all fake?! We don't even love each other... anymore!» The last words leave a bitter taste in your mouth, but you try to make it go away.
«It doesn't matter,» he says with a deadly serious face.
«What?»
«It doesn't matter if we don't love each other… anymore. Our parents have decided we will get married, and we're going to do what they say!»
«Are you saying you're okay with spending the rest of your life with a woman you don't love? Are you really okay with an arranged marriage that might end up in eternal sadness and infidelity?»
«Are you saying you would cheat on me?»
«I'm not. You know I could never.» Mark's eyes widen, and his expression softens as you say those words, but he's quick to hide it before you can notice it. «But this doesn't mean our marriage would be happy,» you add, «and we should do anything we can to fight against it!»
«Not a chance,» he replies, «I'm not going to make a fool of my dad. He has a reputation to keep: do you understand this?»
«So it's all about reputation,» you scoff, «all about appearance. I hate this world of fake moralists obsessed with making a good impression! Besides, your parents didn't even warn you about our engagement, and you're still willing to do what they tell you!»
«They must have had their own reasons to not tell me, just like they certainly had their reasons to choose you as my future wife. They would have never done this if it weren't for the welfare of our business!»
«And since when is your business more important than you?» you let out a nervous chuckle. «I don't care if you don't agree with me anyway. I won't let them decide my own future!»
«Now you're talking out of anger!» he yells, then slightly lowers his voice. «When you're more relaxed and able to think clearly, you'll understand this is the best decision. Now let's get back and not make a scene!»
«I said I'm not coming!»
«This is really not the right time to be stubborn! Let's just go back there!»
«I can't! My parents need to understand that what they're doing is wrong!»
«They don't need to understand anything! The only person who has to understand the situation and stop being unreasonable is you! Now let's go back!» he says, raising his voice and grabbing your wrist again.
«I said I don't want to!» you cry with an equally loud voice tone, making him sigh in despair.
«Please, baby, can you just-» he stops as soon as he realizes what he's just said.
You both keep quiet for a minute, only looking at each other, then you decide to break the silence. «What did you just call me?» you whisper-ask with a trembling voice.
But you've heard how he called you.
Baby.
Just like he used to call you when you were still together, and with the same tone he used when he pretended he didn't enjoy your constant teasing.
And just like that, you don't want to run away anymore. You couldn't anyway, given that your legs have become weaker and your heartbeat can't stop speeding up. One word of his and all the efforts you made to stop loving him have now vanished.
«I-I'm sorry, it slipped...» he whispers while his cheeks get red from the embarrassment. «Please, let's get back now.» He offers you his arm, and you hold it without thinking twice, your mind too blurred by the memories of the two of you together to remember anything else.
You don't want to marry him. You truly don't.
He broke your heart and played with the remaining pieces.
But you don't stop him from taking you back to the main hall.
You don't stop him from telling everyone you acted like that earlier only out of surprise.
You don't stop him from wrapping his arm around your waist while people with faces you can't recognize come to congratulate you.
Lastly, you don't stop him from slowly crawling back into your patched heart.
And you wonder if he even ever left it.

I was inspired (once again) by @sindrakart recent ask posts and decided to make a little post-Psychonauts scene with the patients of Thorny Towers moving on towards new adventures (in a big car apparently).
I was trying to imagine what they would end up doing in a potential new life. So here are some concept for each character:
Gloria Von Gouton: while very unsure of herself, she starts working at a daycare  and ends up being totally fit for the job. Since she was left at a boarding school when she was younger, she knows how it feels to be abandoned by the people who are supposed to take care of you. While the kids at the daycare are left there for a short period of time, Gloria puts all herself to be sure that they are loved and well taken care of, until their parents come pick them up. Everyone loves Gloria, the children, the other workers at the daycare and even the children’s parents.
Edgar Teglee: the man’s incredible art skills quickly find him a job in the city where he and his friends are stationed. The town chief commissions Edgar to paint a beautiful mural on the side of the local school, but upon reaching the location of the job, Edgar discovers that the wall is already painted with beautiful works, made by the local “problematic” teenagers. Edgar works hard to incorporate the pre-existing drawing with his own art and the final result is brilliant. Everyone is impressed, especially when they discover that Edgar only took a small percentage of the payment, choosing to donate the rest to the school art department. The principal’s office is flooded with letters by the students, all demanding for Edgar to be taken by the school as the new art teacher. Edgar is hired by the school and becomes a very respected figure among the students.
Boyd Cooper: after driving his palls to the town without a driving licence, Boyd decides that it’s better to make a new one. After taking his driving test, he realises that he very much enjoys driving and that he’s very good at it, having a steady but gentle driving, and still remembering all the rules of the road (despite not driving for years). Boyd starts looking for jobs available and learns that the local school is looking for a driver for the school bus. He applies and is hired. Boyd enjoys listening at the stories the kids tell each other while he drives, especially the ones that talk about criptids spotted in the field. Sometimes Boyd engages with stories he himself had heard or witnessed, captivating the attention of the nerdy kids.
Fred Bonaparte: between all his friends, Fred is the one with the plan already figured out. His charm and charisma combined with a basic knowledge of medicine, find him a place at one of the small pharmacy of the town. Despite being behind with the news of the medical world, Fred has a very strong will to learn and is simply very good at problem solving (working at a mental institute with dropping fundings and spread ignorance, made him very resourceful at finding the best solution available for the patients). This job also gives him access to any needed medications for his friend (antidepressant medications for Gloria and Edgar, and anxiolytics for Boyd). His confident and kind personality is well loved by both colleagues and customers.
Crispin Whytehead: his plans of becoming a hermit crab on what was left of the asylum are foiled when he is dragged across the lake and into a van by both Fred and Boyd. He lazily lays on the passenger seat casually being mean, but having to stop once in a while whenever Fred reminds him that he can loose arms privileges if he doesn’t behave. Upon arriving at the city, Crispin quickly gets away from the others and promptly gets lost in a mini market. The crabby old lady, owner of the shop, finds him and a match of “who can be the crabbiest” begins. Somehow, in the middle of that argument, Crispin is hired by the crabby lady and now they just work together. Despite being always at odds, Crispin abilities complement the one of the shop owner, who has impeccable sight, very good practical sense, but is a disaster at keeping track of the sale items. Crispin, on the other hand, has a very strong mind and an ok business sense, but can’t see batshit and struggles to tie his own shoelaces. It is hard to tell if Crispin likes his new life or if he just rolls with whatever circumstances he finds himself into.

Forks, Washington. August 2004.
Esme and Carlisle stood in the middle of their grand living room, waiting for their five vampire children to arrive. Alice arrived first—prompt as usual. She settled herself gracefully onto the tufted sofa Esme had recently acquired, only to be immediately jostled by Emmett who heaved himself onto the cushions. A breath caught in Esme’s throat—she had lost many pieces from her beloved collection by that action—but it looked like this one was still in one piece. For the moment. Jasper took Edward’s normal spot in the only armchair, forcing Edward to wedge himself between Alice and Emmett.
“What?” Rosalie grumbled as she perched on the armrest of the couch beside Emmett, “Are we having another one of those How to Respect the Telepath in Your Life meetings again?”
“No,” Edward answered, fully aware of the intent of this meeting since it hatched in Carlisle's mind two days prior. “But there’s never a bad time to bring that up. Christ, Emmett, if you’re going to have a song stuck in your head for over seventy-two hours, the least you can do is learn the correct lyrics.”
Emmett’s eyebrows knit together, asking his brother a silent question.
“It’s ‘mulatto, an albino, a mosquito, my libido,’” Edward answered.
Emmett’s brow furrowed doubtfully.
“No.” Edward shook his head, answering Emmett’s thoughts. “Why would he eat a beetle?”
Emmett grinned playfully and tilted his head towards Edward.
Edward wasn’t amused. “You know what it means.”
A silly grin plastered on his face, Emmett elbowed Edward in the ribs, silently egging him on.
Edward’s eyes darted to Carlisle, then Esme, and he shifted in his seat. “Sexual desire,” he muttered.
Emmett howled with laughter and clapped his hands once, “Wow, Eddie! You’re just going to say that in front of Esme!?” Edward scowled as Emmett’s bouts of laughter echoed through the room.
Esme ran a hand through her youngest’s ginger hair. “Boys,” she warned, and Emmett sucked in his laughter.
“Our meeting today has to do with all of you,” Carlisle began.
“We simply wanted to go over the rules of attending school with you kids before you start your second year at Forks High School,” Esme explained, unfolding and re-folding her hands in front of her. “There are already whispers, and we don’t want those whispers to turn into rumors.”
“I thought the only whispers about us at school were whether or not Edward liked girls,” Rosalie said, earning an eye-roll from Edward.
“No,” Alice chirped,” Some kids think we’re a cult.”
Jasper leaned back heavily in his chair. “We haven’t heard that one since the Seventies.”
“Kids are getting more creative these days.” Emmett nodded appreciatively.
Esme held up one, delicate finger. “Which is why it is best to take preventative action.”
Carlisle took the floor. “We thought a few reminders would be helpful before you started your first day of your second year,” Carlisle said. “We don’t want another incident like the one we had at the end of last year.”
Every head in the room turned towards Emmett.
“What?” Emmett threw up his hands in exasperation, “The water gun fight was the senior prank—I wasn’t the one who brought them to the school. Hell, I wasn’t even the only student who got suspended!”
“That’s true,” Carlisle agreed, “but you were the only student to shout, ‘Sit down, kids! Daddy’s gotta tinkle,’ and shoot the stream of the gun from your crotch.”
Jasper snickered—the sound was immediately silenced by a single raised eyebrow from Esme.
“I still don’t see the problem,” Emmett continued, “That’s not necessarily a vampire thing.”
Edward—who often mistook himself as the third vampire parent rather than the youngest son—sighed, “Yes, but it brings unnecessary attention to the family. Which is the first rule: do not bring attention to yourself.”
Esme ran her fingers through her son’s hair once more, “Yes, darling, you are especially good at keeping to yourself.” Edward’s eyes widened, despite Esme’s gentle touch, already aware of where her point was headed. “So much so, that I have been given the names of several child therapists to help my son through his depression. One was recommended for his exceptional work on spotting and treating the early signs of sociopathic behavior.”
Esme grabbed her son’s chin and forced him to look at her. “You have to talk to other people.”
Knocked off his high horse, Edward flinched back from Esme’s hand. “Friendship with humans never bodes well for us.”
“We’re not asking you to create lifelong friendships with humans,” Carlisle clarified, “We are simply asking you to be likable.”
“A nearly impossible feat for Edward.” Rosalie grinned. The comment went unnoticed, save Edward’s slight flinch. But the quick, little tick was satisfying enough for Rose.
“Look at your father,” Esme gestured towards Carlisle, “At every hospital he works at, he goes out of his way to ensure he is well-liked among his colleagues. He forces down countless lunches and coffees, solely to make sure they’re comfortable around him.”
Carlisle took over. “And your mother, a beloved member of her gardening club and a prized member of the PTA.”
“And neither of us have rumors started about us, and do you know why?”
All five teenagers grumbled the ingrained response. “Humans don’t want to spread rumors about people they like.”
“Exactly.” Esme nodded.
“I try!” Alice whined, “But Edward never lets me talk to any humans.”
“That’s because every, single thing that is about to come out of your mouth is incriminating. You might as well walk around with a neon sign that says, ‘I’m a psychic vampire’.”
Alice scoffed, “Is not!”
“You wanted to tell Nihal Howard not to audition for the musical.”
“And he broke his leg on opening night,” Alice challenged.
“You were going to tell Christiana Ward that pink was not her color.”
“And she lost prom queen to Ashley Kirby.”
Jasper put a comforting hand on his wife’s knee. “Maybe try not to meddle so much, darlin’. Natural relationships, first.”
“They would have been!” Alice wailed, “I would have played it cool and casual and made friends and you all would have seen it! But everyone’s hurt and I have no friends at all because Edward won’t let me try!”
Edward rolled his eyes.
Carlisle suppressed a heavy sigh. “You have to let your sister try, Edward.”
Edward’s mouth fell open. “You cannot seriously be siding with her on this!”
But Carlisle stood his ground. He and Edward stared at one another for a few seconds, engaged in a silent conversation. In the end, Carlisle tilted his chin and Edward slumped back. Victorious, Alice used both pointer fingers to jab Edward in the side several dozen times at vampire speed.
Rosalie flipped her golden locks over her shoulder. “I don’t know how you all struggle so much. I have no issues with becoming well-liked at school while remaining inconspicuous.”
“Oh yeah, you’re so inconspicuous,” Edward grumbled, now extra-petty that he had been called out two times in one meeting. “You dress like you're on your way to brunch at your second husband’s country club in Beverly Hills and you make out with your foster brother. The perfect picture of discretion in Forks High School.”
“At least I don’t dress like a sad, old man.” Rosalie grimaced, disappointed in her comeback. The light, humorous insults that were required in family situations were Emmett’s forte; Rosalie’s insults were meant to emotionally cripple a person.
Edward sat up in his seat on the couch and turned to face Rosalie. “I think you missed the main takeaway in that you make out with your foster brother.” Edward turned back. “I can read your minds, and I still don’t understand what made either of you think it was okay to bring your relationship to school?!”
Emmett smiled, unperturbed. “It’s hot.”
“It’s disturbing,” Edward disagreed.
Esme frowned, “You kids don’t really do that, do you?”
“Would it help if Jasper and I became an official couple too?” Alice suggested.     Jasper perked up at the idea of being able to hold hands with Alice in public again.
“No!” Edward yelled at the same time Emmett and Rosalie muttered their acquiesce.
“It wouldn’t seem as weird if there were two couples,” Emmett agreed.
Edward dug his fingers through his hair. “Oh my god!”
“...maybe not, kids,” Esme intervened, but was ultimately ignored.
“So should we come out today like it happened over the summer, or make a little show out of it?” Alice asked Rosalie.
Rosalie waved a hand in the air. “Oh, it’s way more fun if you play up the theatrics.”
“A little more realistic, too,” Emmett agreed.
Alice looked to Jasper for his opinion. “It might be better if we were discreet about it,” she said. “Like we knew it was wrong, but we wouldn’t let anything stand in the way of our love.”
Jasper scooted forward to the edge of his seat. “Or we could let it be quiet and drawn out. Let others see our mutual pining, and root for us to be together.”
Gazing deep into the golden eyes of her soulmate, Alice sighed, “I love that.”
“If people wanted us to get together, it would normalize Emmett and Rosalie’s relationship.”
“Or Rosalie and Emmett could stop,” Edward suggested, bitterly. “That would be normal, too.”
“Oh, Edward,” Alice patted his shoulder, “You’ll find love someday, too.”
“That is not at all what bothers me about the situation.”
Carlisle made the decision for everyone. “Rosalie and Emmett, break up at school. Alice and Jasper, remain friends and siblings.”
Disappointment filtered into the room through Jasper.
“I heard that,” Edward grumbled at someone’s thoughts.
“You were supposed to,” Rosalie shot back.
“We are also initiating a new rule,” Esme brought the room back to the conversation at hand, “No more correcting your teachers.”
A chorus of complaints rang from the couch.
Esme clicked her tongue, “I’m tired of defending you all from entirely preventable issues. I have emails from curious teachers wondering why my foster daughter is taking French 101, when she already appears to be fluent.” Esme looked at Rosalie, who immediately tucked her bottom lip between her teeth. “Or why my son, at the tender age of sixteen, could not only deadlift three hundred pounds in his first weightlifting class, but also give his coach tips on improving his posture.”
Emmett glanced over at Edward before he realized Esme was, in fact, addressing him. “What!?”
Jasper snorted. The sound was a mistake, for it brought Esme’s wrath onto him. “And not to mention the emails from not one, not two, but three teachers warning me that my foster son has an intimate understanding of the mechanics of a point fifty-eight caliber rifle-musket.” Esme held out her hands, almost pleadingly, “How does that subject keep coming up, Jasper?”
A noncommittal grunt was the only answer Jasper had for that question.
“No more,” she commanded. “You can get good grades but keep your extra knowledge on any subject to yourself. Whatever your teacher teaches is all you know. Understand?”
“But what if we—” Edward started.
“Understand?” Esme repeated.
The five teenage vampires understood, even if they didn’t want to.
“I believe that all five of you will graduate from Forks High School!” Esme cheered.
The kids stared back, unable to muster the zeal Esme had over the prospect.
“Meeting adjourned!” Carlisle announced, and faster than fast vampire speed, the kids bolted from their seats.
Esme was able to get in a few more reminders as her children flitted around the house and filed out to the silver Volvo.  “Remember to buy lunch with cash and not your credit cards. Emmett, please do not joke about being mauled by a bear. Do not address your teachers by their first names—I don’t care if you’re older than they are, Edward. Alice, please wear something a bit more causal, pet.”
When the house was finally empty, Carlisle pulled Esme backwards into his chest and began massaging her temples. The gesture wasn’t needed, but any touch from her husband was always welcome.
“Do you think they’ll listen?” she asked her husband.
“Not a chance.”
