You gently ran your fingertips through Sephiroth's silky silver locks, using his favorite rose-lavender fusion shampoo. He hummed a lullaby and held you in his lap with closed eyes. This Sephiroth had been rather antsy lately, since he had the lowest priority to spend time with you this time. Still, he stayed a good boy, just for you. So what better way to have begun your time together than by taking a bath and washing each other's hair?

But just as you were going to put more shampoo on his gravity-defying baby bangs (He has the shortest bangs out of all Sephiroths and is the youngest Sephy), you pouted, realizing you ran out of the shampoo. You rose from his lap and made your way to the edge of the tub, bending over to search for more of it in a nearby basket. Sephiroth slightly opened his eyes, uttering a quiet "Hmmm?" in response. His gaze wandered down to your wet, gaping cunt, granting him a perfect view of your pink insides. His lips curved into a sweet smile, while his slit eyes sparkled with delight. Finally, you found what you were looking for and returned to his lap.

"Last bottle!" you said, squeezing some new shampoo onto your hands and applying it to his baby bangs. His chest rumbled with a satisfied purr.

"Mother," He said.

"Yes?"

"Let's have a child together," he said this so casually, you couldn't help but blush like hell. If your hands weren't wet and covered in fragrant shampoo, you would've used them to cover your face. Instead, you turned your head away from him.

"W-where did this come from?!" you said. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you tight like you're his security blanket.

"There is no better way to deepen our bond than by creating a product of our love..." He whispered.

"I don't think the other Sephiroths would like that... They already think I coddle you too much," you whispered, watching his sweet smile transformed into a frown. Your hand cupped his cheek as you continued. "But between us, there are certain things I do that are just for you. Our bond runs deeper than you think..." Your words seemed to calm him, as he pressed his forehead against yours.

"You're right, Mother," he said. "Our bond is far more deep... Once I reign supreme over those dullards, you'll be free to bear my spawn!" You sighed and washed the shampoo out of his hair. At least he understood some of what you said.

(name) was a special shade of moody this morning, the triplets were using him as a god damn soccer field and he barely got any sleep and couldn't have anything he enjoyed and glared at his mate who sipped his coffee "gimmie some" (name) stared at his very healthy breakfast that his husband prepared for him, he wanted (breakfast) so badly.

"You're in a good mood darling" sephiroth teased and (name) glared at his alpha "gimmie coffee" he huffed half awake and the white haired alpha raised an eyebrow "you know you can't have it, it---""it's bad for the baby... (Name) barked out and Sephiroth immediately got up to follow his mate "go way!" (Name) grumbled but Sephiroth did no such thing, he would be damned if he let his angry hormonal and pregnant mate go out to do stuff alone.

"I can do this myself!" (Name) all but hissed and Sephiroth had enough, gently pinning his mate to the door "I'll have someone get your snacks if you behave Omega" Sephiroth didn't enjoy using alpha tone on his mate but (name) was being reckless.

(Name)s eyes watered and before the Alpha knew it he had a sobbing pregnant Omega before him "I-I just want snacks!" He sobbed letting Sephiroth hold him close, this had been the entire pregnancy and the silver haired alpha was VERY used to it.

AGSZC ND AU: Finances

AU setup: all the boys are neuro-spicy except Angeal, who has depression/anxiety. I HC that GZ are more ADHD-leaning and SC are more Autism (ASD)-leaning

Zack struggles to save. Angeal and Genesis have to sit him down and talk him into setting up a retirement fund that automatically draws from his paycheck before he can touch it.

They also help him set up a savings account and encourage him to use cash to- Zack did you just give half your paycheck in cash to that beggar child? SURE, BUT NOT HALF YOUR PAYCHECK!!! YOU HAVE TO PAY RENT!!! ...and now they're setting up direct deposit on his bills.

There's at least 20 Zack Fair ID cards in circulation around Midgar. It's gotten so bad that he is the only SOLDIER who has to scan his ID AND put in a pin (Cloud's name, but with a 0 instead of an o! Super secure!). So you can imagine how many Zack Fair credit and debit cards have had to be canceled.

Angeal is frugal to the point of it being unhealthy. He washes plastic bags (ok, sure, but maybe once they're not water tight, let them go), wears clothes until they literally fall off his body (ok for some things, but Angeal, that shirt is more hole than shirt), reuses the coffee grounds as many times as he can before the other SOLDIERs start a riot (unhealthy in that they're asking for his head on a pike in Lazard's office)...

He's religious about not skipping meals; he considers it a sign that he's "made it" in life, and giving up on the ritual and right to eat upsets him.

Genesis got swept up in finance as a hyperfixation/special interest, so he's in the healthiest financial situation, and helps his boyfriends up their games. He set up automatic deposits, has diverse investments, and has controls set in place to help him avoid over-spending if he starts getting impulsive.

Cloud is broke and it's not his fault. He fully supports all of Angeal's endeavors to the point of obsession as well. Whatever part of his paycheck doesn't immediately get vaporized for housing, he sends as much as he can to his mom (much like Angeal), and since she refuses to take more, the rest goes into savings.

Unlike Angeal, he will skip meals if money is tight or he thinks he can get away with it. It helps that he forgets sometimes, and he also tries to sleep for meals as a two-for-one on shutting down his senses and saving money. None of his boyfriends are happy about this.

Sephiroth has a complicated relationship with money. It's very hard for him to consider it as a tangible thing, since his basic physical needs are met by the company. It took Genesis looking over his finances to realize Shinra was severely underpaying him, even embezzling from him. After a tirade involving Lazard, Genesis, and Angeal vs. the board, all that was straightened out. They couldn't get much back pay, but Hojo got scolded mildly and Sephiroth considered that a win. The others are still unhappy about it.

He doesn't like touching his finances. Genesis encouraged and guided him as he set things up one miserable April, and now it takes care of itself, and he's happy as long as he has enough to treat his boyfriends and buy pasta.

Return - Part 1 / ?

“What do you want, Zack?”, Sephiroth’s voice felt as if was trying to pierce a dagger into Zack’s chest, filled with poison and hate. Seph slowly stood up from his sitting place on the floor, his bones audibly creaking, he hadn’t left the spot or even moved an inch in several hours. He brushed some dust off of his shoulders, a single spider jumping off his coat.

“We need to get out of here! Now!”, Zack nearly yelled, Seph making a face in return. Seph didn’t believe himself to be human anymore, but the very human feeling of a dehydration induced headache was just as real.

I was inspired by this ask sent to @altocat a few days ago. It'll be a fanfic with a few parts, and yes, I intended to make it as heartbreaking, if not even more, than the ask submitted.

Warnings: angst, AU - Nibelheim goes wrong in a different way, ff7 content so apply the usual warnings of the games to this fic

Loveless, Act 1

“Cloud! You pack up your mom, the girl you told me about, her dad, everyone you know in here. Run! I’ll take responsibility for it back at HQ, but you go and get away from Nibelheim NOW!”

Zack’s own voice rang in his head as he carefully made his way down the staircase. The wood was covered in wetness, making every step more dangerous than the last one. As careful as he wanted to be, Zack needed to be fast. Fast, fast, fast. He needed to reach Sephiroth as fast as possible.

Hot flames roared up into the sky, engulfing the houses close to the main square. The water tower had exploded, the water vaporized, not a chance to take out the fire. Sephiroth was standing inside of the flames, shaking like a leaf in the wind. His eyes were robbed of any humanity, what was once a comforting look for fans and friends alike was replaced with emptiness, screaming for something nobody could hear.

“Sephiroth! Why did you do this?!”, Zack yelled at his friend, his mentor, his buddy. “What’s wrong with you?!”

“Nothing with wrong is me, Zack. Everything is right. This is a new dawn for the world. Get out of my way.”

Zack had awoken soaked in sweat. It was barely 2am, the first sleep in several days after the appearance of Genesis and the reveal of Sephiroth’s identity. Only a hefty dose of sleep materia had managed to knock Zack out, but the nightmare…it had felt too real for him.

“Come on…I am not giving up on you, Seph.”, Zack muttered to himself as he ran along the corridor towards the laboratory in the Shinra Mansion. The silence made him deaf, hearing his heartbeat inside of his ears as the door came closer and closer. His legs were carrying him forward, his whole body on autopilot as the only thought inside of Zack’s brain became louder and louder.

He needs to save Sephiroth.

Torn pages out of old books, records and scientific papers covered every possible surface of the lab, and Sephiroth was right in the middle. His hair was a mess, his eyes bloodshot from a clear lack of sleep. No sunlight came down there and no clocks were mounted anywhere, Seph probably had no idea how long he had been down there.

“Sephiroth!”, Zack called out once he had stormed into the room, making Seph snap his head around, looking at his fellow SOLDIER with big eyes. Once upon a time, Zack had visited a friend of his back in Gongaga. The poor guy had come in contact with Touch Mes, and the various poisons had caused him to suffer from insomnia. His eyes had been just as bloodshot as Sephiroth’s, and he had begged for someone to hit him with a chair so he’d finally get the sweet release of sleep, concussions be damned. It had taken him nearly a week to recover.

“No. I am not leaving until I know everything!”, Seph spat back and turned his back to Zack, clearly done with the conversation.

“I am not leaving until you do.”, Zack replied, the chuckle coming from Sephiroth was something straight out of a horror movie.

“Good luck with that.”

There was no sense. Sephiroth wouldn’t leave, he wouldn’t budge, it was useless. Thankfully, Zack was a clever one, even though his actions might sometimes made his peers believe him to be stupid. Wrong. The sleep materia Cloud had used to help his pal go to bed earlier was nestled inside of Zack’s pocket, and with a simple swipe, the materia was cast upon Sephiroth, making him fall to the floor like a bag of potatoes.

And now, how to get him out?

Genesis took a bite out of his apple, his eyes gazing down on Nibelheim. While he hadn’t spotted Sephiroth in a few days, he had noticed Zack and Cloud being out in town together, making sure everyone was safe. But something that hadn’t failed to catch Genesis’ attention was the increased security by Shinra, just outside of the borders of the town. Including artillery and enough bombs to level a city. Hu. He took another bite out of his dumbapple, its taste just how he knew it from back home. His beautifully, bombed home. What was going on down there?

It took Zack several hours to drag Sephiroth out of the laboratory, up the stairs and through the mansion. By now, the sun had risen, but the town was empty. Cloud had listened to his friend’s advice and managed to get everyone to leave. By now, Zack knew Cloud’s childhood home like the back of his hand, and the few more meters dragging Sephiroth along weren’t too bad. The door was unlocked and once inside, Zack dropped Sephiroth into the nearest bed.

“We cannot do this, Tseng!”, Cissnei crossed her arms, standing in front of the prepared gun arsenal. “We cannot let this happen, after everything Zack has done for us!”, Reno butted in, placing his hand on Cissnei’s shoulder in support.

“They are right and you know it!”, came one last resort from Rude’s side, backing his mates up.

Tseng rubbed over his temples, trying to think of an option that’d make everyone happy. They had gotten hold of the information. They knew Zack and Sephiroth would be used as monkeys for Hojo’s experiments. They knew the pain it’d cause them both. Despite the rare overlaps between the Turks and SOLDIER, Tseng had heard first hand of the experiments on Sephiroth. He had seen the pictures of ‘progress’ presented by Hojo with a sick pleasure which even made Tseng’s stomach turn around. He knew how badly Sephiroth was punished back when he came back from a mission with some candies in his pockets, a lollipop hanging from his lips. A thankful little girl had given her hero her last bit of candy supply, a grand gesture for saving her father’s life. Hojo denied Sephiroth any kind of food for a week, feeding him with a tube only. At this point, Sephiroth was 10 years old.

“Fine. Cissnei, do you remember the throwaway PHP I gave you ages ago? Use it. Warn Zack and Sephiroth.”

Sephiroth awoke minutes after getting tucked in involuntarily. His body felt warm for the first time in days, the water bottle Zack had placed under the cover with him comforted him like a hug. “Where am I?”

“We are in Cloud’s home. They, uhm, have left for the day and Claudia told me to make ourselves a home! Here, I made you some tea!”, Zack grinned as he watched Sephiroth sit up, stretching his hurting limbs and rubbing his eyes. The sleep he hadn’t consented too wasn’t too pleasant, but it wasn’t unwelcome. Sephiroth took a sip from the tea, the warmth going down his throat and settling in his empty stomach. Only now, Sephiroth realized how hungry he was.

“Zack…do monsters feel hunger? Do they feel cravings?”

“I don’t think so, Seph. I don’t think a Bandersnatch wakes up one morning and goes ‘Oh, today I wanna eat a Hedgehog Pie today! Quite tasty, its meat is so tasty and lean, and its spikes serve as toothpicks!”

“Hm.”

“Are you craving something?”

“I would actually like some noodle soup.”

Before Zack could give Sephiroth a witty reply, he heard the noise of his phone receiving a message. With a smile he took it out and started to read, his smile growing smaller with every word he read.

“Sephiroth. We have to get out of here.”, Zack stumbled over his words, eyes wide as he showed Sephiroth the message.

Still confused and a bit groggy, it took Sephiroth a solid few seconds to read the message and to understand it. The second it hit him, he threw the blanket off of his body, nearly falling over his own feet as they ran towards the door. But before they could make it out, the first bomb exploded onto the house vis-a-vis to the one they were in, knocking the two out cold.

Get out of Nibelheim. Bombing incoming. Get to Kalm asap. Meet u there. -c

Different Stages of Life AU - First Sleepover Pt. 1

It's the very first time that Angel stayed at Sephiroth's place for a sleepover. Of course, he's very nervous about it, but also happy in a way? But first, let's see how it all came to be. And I kind of have a hunch whose idea it was~ Words: 1,138 words Characters: 6,248 characters

Sephiroth found himself in a distressful situation and Mother Jenova couldn't help herself to feel joyous about it. The reason for that was, once again, Angel, who happened to catch him unawares at the kindergarten the other day.

Every Monday, the children got the opportunity to freely share their adventures of their weekends in their respective morning circle. Angel chose to tell everyone about how much fun she had spending her weekend alone with her grandmother. They had gone on an excursion at the local zoo and her stepfather even permitted her to take her camera with her to take pictures of the animals. Later that day when she was playing house with two of her friends, she had the marvellous idea to spend another weekend with someone she liked. Despite the fact that she was technically every child’s best friend, she would gladly choose one significant boy anytime above everyone else: Sephiroth. He was in the habit of making himself scarce, which made it hard for other children to find him. However, the good thing was that Angel seemed to be the only one who knew where to look. Even if she didn’t, she would track him down until she found him. But such drastic measures weren’t necessary since she knew Sephiroth well enough by now to know all of his secret places. And it wasn’t a surprise at all that she eventually found him at his most favourite spot in the whole kindergarten: the book corner.

If there was something Sephiroth hated the most, it was being disturbed while reading. Especially when he was slouching in his favourite armchair. And, yes, he may have made an exception for Angel, but that didn’t mean that she could enjoy the privilege of fools. To his cost, she played that card a bit too often… First, she slowly crawled up behind his armchair, and then jumped up to cover his eyes with her tiny hands to surprise him. “Guess who!”, she shouted while giggling playfully. With an exasperated sigh, Sephiroth dropped his book down on his lap and leaned his head back slightly. “It’s you Angel”, he replied, stretching the vocal “e” in her name in the most annoyed tone of voice he could muster, “I told you not to disturb me when I’m reading… What do you want?” With an insulted pout, she let go and stomped around the armchair to face him, letting herself fall on the cushioned stool in front of him. “You know, you could really put more work into your courtesy, Sephy.” “And you could really put more work into respecting other people’s privacy, but here we are.” If this was a cartoon, you could’ve seen the steam hissing out of Angel’s ears. She glared angrily at his impish smile, which almost made her ready to burst any minute.

Sephiroth’s bluntness and quick-witted responses constantly managed to catch her off guard, yet she could never be mad at him for some reason. It was a trait she admired about him and sometimes she secretly wished to be like him as well in that regard, instead of resorting to violence at the slightest provocation.

But she didn’t seek him out to squabble with him, so she quickly picked up the conversation where they left off. “A-ny-way, I wanted to ask you something. This morning, I talked about my weekend with grandma…”

Sephiroth only gave away a short “Uh-huh” while he switched his attention back to the book he was reading. Angel gracefully ignored it and continued speaking. “And I had much fun spending time with her, we even went to the zoo and saw a lot of animals!” Instead of giving her a proper response, Sephiroth simply kept silent and continued listening to her. It might not have looked that way, but even if he was occupied by something else, he still found the energy to listen to her. And Angel got the hint, so she speaked further. “And now, you see… I had this idea…” Like a scalded cat, Sephiroth’s head shot up and looked at her. His eyes squinted while he slowly set down his book on his lap again. Whenever Angel started a sentence like that, he always had a hunch that it meant trouble. “... How much time do I have to run and hide?” “You’re so mean! It’s not like all of my ideas are bad! … Only a few maybe… B-But this one isn’t, I promise! I’m serious this time! I thought of spending this weekend with you… And maybe I could also stay at your place…?” The confidence Angel had built up for this conversation seemed to vanish into thin air all of a sudden. She felt her cheeks burning brightly, and that right in front of him! It was so embarrassing for her at that moment that she wished she could just disappear off the face of the earth. A feeling she’s unfamiliar with since she used to be so bold and brave in front of everyone. But with Sephiroth… It felt different somehow… Sephiroth was flabbergasted as he expected everything else, just not that. Angel has never visited him before and on top of that, it would be the very first time someone would visit him at all!

The poor boy neither knew what to say, nor could he say what made his heart beating faster right now. Was it happiness? Or was it because he was on the edge of panicking? However, the overwhelming silence made this situation more awkward than it already was, so Angel promptly began to speak yet again. “It’s okay if you don’t want to! I just thought-” “No!”, he abruptly cut her off mid sentence, “I… I’d love to spend this weekend with you…”

Angel’s face lit up in excitement; her cheeks still glowing in a delicate rose, while Sephiroth’s gaze turned down to the floor, his cheeks burning in a deep red. With a playful giggle, she dashed over to Sephiroth and almost knocked him over along with the armchair, and trapped him into a tight embrace.

He accepted her embrace and even returned it, though he was worried that she might hear his deafening heartbeat. In fact, his heart was beating so fast that he felt as if it jumped out of his chest any second. “We just have to ask our Mommy and Daddy first though… But I’m sure that my Daddy doesn’t mind!” Angel’s voice and her bouncing brought him back to the here and now. He took a deep breath, trying to ease his nervousness that still ran through his body. Before he answered her, he nodded slightly.

“I-I don’t think my Mother would mind either. She will be happy if you visit us. A-And me too…”

“Alright! Let’s make it a weekend to remember!”

Halloween Hijinks

“You can’t buy candy corn for trick or treaters!” Bianca exclaimed, as she snatched the bowl of candy from Sephiroth’s hands. She clutched the bowl, not wanting to return it to Sephiroth and his bad candy. “That’s the fruitcake of Halloween!”

This was her first Halloween since fate transported her from Earth to Gaia, and it was her favorite holiday. The celebration was among the things that she missed most about her home world. She didn’t know why dressing up in a costume meant so much to her, but it did.

It’s the perfect night to be my true self. During Halloween, Bianca had no one demand of her to bind her wings or wear normal color contacts to hide the color of her eyes. She could simply exist in her skin and none would judge her. They’d simply compliment her realistic costume.

In exchange, Bianca loved to serve only the best treats to visiting trick or treaters. She was the house that gave out full-size candy bars, making sure that her home would be well-remembered by the kids.

“You doubt me?” Sephiroth stared at her and crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. His lips curled into a faint smile, which dissipated quickly and made Bianca wonder if it was even there. “It’s sweet and comes in three colors.”

“And fruitcake is the quintessential Christmas food. Yet no one likes to receive fruitcake, and no one likes to receive candy corn. I think you are the only one who likes candy corn — and, of course, old people.”

what are some of the recipes witch angeal has made from his "family recipe" book? any fam favorites? any faves the boys have?

hello! I'm so sorry its taken me so long to answer, I've literally been agonising over Recipes trying to figure out what Goth Witch Angeal would bake 😆.

(I will say that insporation for much of this comes from Sweeny Todd, the curious creations of Christine McConnel and a handfull of Grims Fairytales.)

Okay, so Angeals Go to recipe is meat pie. The thing about this AU is I like towing the line between fantasy and realism with these Characterisations, so you never really know whether they are just Goth and Wiccan or actual storybook witches.

The meat pie started as a joke to scare the local church goers. in the early days of Gen and Angeals relationship, Angeal grudgingly went to church with Genesis in order to "present themselves properly" to the community. Genesis Grew up Catholic, and He is actually still quite religious in a rather hethenistic "Chriso-pagan" kind of way... The crusifix shaped scar at his Clavical that he's had for over 200- I mean... 2 years doesn't seem to deter him from standing on hallowed ground.

They'd been invited to a pot luck, and the woman that had extended it to them had done so incredibly passive agressivly. people like that grated on Angeal... so he'd turned to Mimsy (the recipe book) who immidiatly flipped to the page on meat pie.

To this day the people of the church don't know whether they ate human flesh or not...

The Fam as some more "normal" faves:

Angeals recipe for tri-chocolate brownies is Zacks favorite

Edger is a big fan of both his seed loaf and his mouse mix (its exactly what you think)

Genesis is fond of his Red velvet Cake. he does not use food dye to colour it red. do with that information what you will.

Sephiroth adores his Sea food Risotto, as well as literally anything with Chocolate in it. If anyone ever left Sephiroth in the woods, the only reason he wouldn't get eaten by the witch in the gingerbread house is because he too is a witch.

Cloud would eat Angeals Harvest special Pumpkin pie for every meal for the rest of his life if he could. allas Angeal will not let him.

food traditions include:

Angeals secret Ham recipe (no you may not know) at Yule. They don't eat turkey for many reasons. the main one being Zack complains it sucks allthe moisture out of his mouth. the second main one being Genesis prefers his meat extremely rare... for reasons.

During Imbolc they tend to eat deviled eggs until Zack hits food coma status. once he starts he can't stop.

During Litha they eat Honey cakes Which are some of Angeals personal favorites. usually this is with homemade mead or elderflower wine.

Mabon is all about soup. mostly pumpkin, sometimes carrot. Angela will absoloutly admit to getting the pumpkin soup recipe from a childrens book.

Samhain is all about spice and warmth, so Chillies, and Stews, and cornbreads, and soups and all kinds of things. There is also a lot of Pomigranits involved. Cloud seems to like sitting on the kitchen counter, feeding everyone who passes the seeds. Thats why They all refer to them as their personal persephony.

Beltane is again all about the Honey as well as fresh fruit and veg. Strawbery cream cake must be consumed. it is the law. And Angeal is 100% aware it is an aphrodesiac, thats why he bakes it. feeding Sephiroth strawberries is always fun.

Headcanons for SMG4 Revival AU/Bubble-Verse

Niles's bandages are gone from his arms post-revival.

Desti has a scar where Replica!Sephiroth stabbed her post-revival.

Spudnick has cracks on his face post-revival.

Fred has blotches on his arms and legs that expose his wireframe post-revival.

SMG1 has limited/no feeling in his scarred arm and leg, and SMG2 is blind in his scarred eye.

Similar to this, Fred gets chronic pains in the places where his wireframe is exposed.

SMG1 is a bookworm. A common sight in their house (I assume they got a house in like, Bloopervile post-Genesis Arc) is SMG1 reading a book while SMG2 is lying against his side sleeping.

SMG2 is very protective of Spudnick after he comes back, coming from the guilt of being unable to protect him the first time.

SMG2 has had recurring nightmares about the death of Spudnick and the resulting destruction of their original universe.

SMG0 is very keen of how Niles is feeling, or at least trying to be, after all the chaos and misery that resulted from him not noticing Niles's growing inferiority complex about his origins.

Niles reeeeeeeaaaallly likes drinking milk, and will drink a whole carton if no-one stops him.

Spudnick is about as obsessed with mangoes as Mario is obsessed with spaghetti.

Fred likes chocolate, but not nearly as much as his other Avatar's favourites.

Niles avoided Fred for a week after he (Fred) was revived, due to the guilt of accidentally killing him and destroying their universe in the process.

SMG0 is an excellent cook, Niles is learning how to cook, and Fred... once burnt water.

SMG1 and SMG2 are both pretty good cooks. Spudnick has to be supervised in the kitchen after he tried to use the sun to bake cookies.

Niles and Zero's eyes flip to the red null-sign version when they are particularly upset. If Niles's does this, you're probably screwed. If Zero's does this, you are definitely very fucked.

DEFINITELY AU lmao Not only did Sephiroth never visit Nibelheim before the events of the Incident, but I have a hunch that he and Glenn proooobably won't be hanging out after they get off that island.😬Plus the last seasonal even was basically AU as well since it did weird time travel shenanigans with Aerith and Zack in different eras. So yeah. None of these are serious. It's just dumb fun.

I am genuinely glad Square is doubling down on Glenn being a big brother figure to Seph. I wonder if Seph will sense Jenova at all since he's in proximity to her. ALSO they were outside the Shinra Mansion!!!

ffvii hades-like au?

1.) Sephiroth is the waward son of the god of the underworld. He's never taken neatly to his own role, but he flourishes in learning to fight and what to fight for under the mortal spirits his father employs. He also just hates his father. He leans much more closely and much more affectionately to Jenova, night herself. Jenova is stern, but holds much more warmth than his father ever could. And Jenova usually tells him the truth. Sephiroth believes the house would collapse if Jenova was gone. Most others do too.

Jenova tells him the truth when Sephiroth finds undeniable proof that she is not, in fact, his real mother. She tells him what she can of Lucretia. Literally no one will say why Lady Lucretia left. Sephiroth's father forbids it. So Sephiroth goes to find the one person who can.

Jenova agrees to help Sephiroth reach Lucretia however she can.

2.) Sephiroth's father is furious when Sephiroth tries to leave. He manages to turn most of the house against Sephiroth, because technically he is in charge. But Sephiroth fights anyway using the weapons his own family once used to best the Titans and boons from their family itself.

He feels a little bad when he has to face Genesis...his ex. Their relationship had ended badly before and this didn't help things. Genesis is pretty much convinced Sephiroth is going to bring ruin to them, but he has to keep going. He has to know why.

He feels worse when he faces Cloud, death himself. Cloud claims to understand his friend's plight, but Sephiroth knows he doesn't, but appreciates the help.

Progress is slow, but he is able to brush up against the surface more and more often.

3.) Sephiroth is finally able to reach the surface, bribing Zack the hellhound with his favorite snack to avoid a final fight. Except now he faces his own father.

It's shocking how little love he has for him as they fight. Sephiroth realizes he may be a fool, throwing away a loveless parent for one that could possibly just hate him.

But she might love him too. She might love him more than Jenova ever could. He just needs to know why she left. His father will not say.

It takes more than one attempt, but finally Sephiroth stands over his father as he goes to the Styx...and Sephiroth steps out into the real world.

4.) He finds it cold, but strangely beautiful. He finds a garden at last, just like Jenova said. The woman tells him it's private and he explains he's looking for Lucretia...his mother.

She is furious, angry he would bring up such a name...until it clicks for her.

"You died," she says, "you died. He said you were beyond saving. How can you be here." Their reunion is wonderful, but brief. Sephiroth knew it would only be temporary, that he is tied to the underworld forever.

"I'll be back soon," he says weakly. Lucretia holds her son in her arms. "You must!" she tells him.

He does. To the wonder of all, he keeps reaching his mother learning the cruel truth of her marriage. That his father bargained for her, that she thought she did love him. That his father lied to make her leave because the house held more power for her than it did him.

The final time she is waiting at the docks by Angeal's boat.

"I'm going with you, Sephiroth," she tells him, "things are going to be different."

5.) If fighting to get out was hard enough, fighting to overthrow the god of the underworld was harder. It was easier since everyone was more or less on Sephiroth's side.

The thing that really turned the tide was the figure in red who appeared and disappeared at whim. Jenova recognized her brother Chaos, but not the man with him.

Sephiroth met him. Vincent.

"I'm still Chaos," he said, "just the part that humans would understand, the less...primordial one." With Chaos's boon Sephiroth managed to best a god for good.

But leading isn't at all what he wanted. He passed that to Lucretia and Jenova...still feeling like...history was going to repeat itself.

At least he did until his mother gave him a new job: security expert. He had to try and escape the underworld over and over.

"So you can protect the house and get out all that restless energy," she said with a smile.

Claudia has a pet dragon AU

Claudia probably had a pet dragon at some point that still visits and bothers her for snacks

Dragon: *tail wagging, dancing around, breathing fire* Claudia: *shoves its nose away* go on, git, I ain't got nothin more for ya, you ate all my wolf liver!

Dragon: *rolls on its back asking for belly rubs*

Claudia: ugh, fine. *Delivers belly rubs* Go on, ya daft dragon, I'm taking Cloud to school!

The villagers: ...

Claudia and her dragon had their babies around the same time, and babysat for each other.

Claudia and Dragon Mama exchange snacks occasionally; Claudia brings special parts of her kills that she and Cloud shouldn't eat, and Dragon Mama sometimes drops off whole carcasses.

Dragon: this deer ain't worth my time, but I killed it and Claudia might give me wolf liver if I drop by!

Mama Dragon is named Asil, and Baby Dragon is named Knarf. Because backwards, that's Lisa Frank, and they look like Lisa Frank characters. And they're scratch-n-sniff.

AGSZC visit Nibelheim and AGSZ are panicked when Cloud hears a dragon in the distance and runs off to confront it...only to discover Cloud GIGGLING and play-fighting it. They are more concerned about the giggling, as they've never heard it before.

They expected the Steve Irwin vibes from Zack, who has a pet sahagin in Gongaga, but Cloud was a surprise (he shouldn't have been, he's feral AF).

AGSZC: *walking to Nibelheim*

Dragon: ROAR

Angeal: We'd better steer clear, right Cloud? Cloud?! CLOUD!!!

Zack: Where did he even go?! That was so fast!

Sephiroth: Towards the dragon.

Genesis: Of fucking course.

AGSZ: *runs up just in time to see cloud, unarmed, jump on a dragon*

Cloud: KNARF YOU FUCKER I GOT YOU FIRST WAIT NO NOT THE FACE NOT THE FACE HAHAHAHAHAHAHA GET OFF

The dragons immediately like Zack because all animals immediately like Zack.

Angeal wins them over through snacks.

And they're obsessed with Genesis' sword and materia, and Sephiroth's hair.

They keep Sitting On Sephiroth and grooming his hair or staring at it, and they keep trying to steal Gen's stuff. You wouldn't think a puppy-lizard-cat is very sneaky when it's the size of a house, but clearly you would be wrong

Sephiroth: Please, Miss, I don't know how dragon saliva affects hair, and I can't afford for it to go spiky like Cloud's.

Asil: *still sitting on him and licking*

(turns out it's really really good for hair and makes it thick, shiny, and healthy...after you wash out the top layer of slime)

Knarf and Asil leave Genesis gifts when they steal from him. Sometimes it's worthless crap like a leaf or a rodent carcass; sometimes it's sparkling gems, rare materia, or their own scales, which are hard to come by. There is no pattern.

Genesis tries to bargain with them, bringing an assortment of Wall Market jewelry.

Genesis: Shall we trade? What will you give me for this diamond necklace?

Knarf: *holds up a leaf*

Genesis: How about this fake ruby bracelet?

Knarf: *5 rare materia*

Genesis: Ok, then you must give me something great for this fake ruby necklace, which only differs from the bracelet in that it is longer...

Knarf: *dead skunk plops on Genesis' head*

Talking about their childhoods:

Sephiroth: My sperm donor would order me to kill kittens.

Genesis: My parents didn't care, but my nanny would hit me with a ruler.

Zack: I'd be sent out into the backwoods to work off my energy and made friends with monsters!

Cloud: I'd go to air jail, where Asil would pick me up by my shirt and dangle me in the air.

Angeal: MY MOTHER SENT ME TO TIME OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR CHILDHOODS

Air jail:

I'd like to think that Sephy starts to have his breakdown, Claudia hears about it and the mysterious head in the reactor, and then sends the boys to help Seph while she and Asil take care of Jenova.

Asil both sits on Jenova and incinerates her, while Claudia shoots Jenova with her biggest shotgun.
