Whumptober is a writing challenge for the month of October! There's a list of prompts for all 31 days, and the challenge is to write something for all of them :D

The prompts are specifically "whump" though, which is sort of another way of saying angst. Basically it's an excuse for me to write a lot of hurt/comfort XD This'll be my third year doing it now :)

I love the outfits in that pride flag outfits piece you did! Would you be willing to share where you got your references for that piece?

Honestly mostly it's just searching up "50s suits" "50s style" etc on google and pinterest and looking at all the magazine pages. Or if i wanna get a bit fancy and unrealistic I look up specific celebrities from that time.

But a more concrete tactic I have is searching up *insert year* sears catalogue. It's hundreds of pages of catalogues uploaded in good quality with men's, women's and children's clothes/shoes/accessories, both the winter/autumn and spring/summer issues. It's good for a basic understanding, but it doesn't have any specific subculture's fashion, it's pretty much all white, middle class american stuff. Although I mostly use these catalogues for 60s clothes bc they have less nice references just all over the internet.

Also if you want to understand specific fashion trends bloshka is a good website for that (and it has way more stuff, not just 50s fashion) they also have an overview of most 20th century decades

hey! i'm the one who asked about the length of the halloween fic, and i decided to start twst! it'll be a lower-priority game, but i wanted to let you know bc on the tutorial 10 roll i ended up going with (after way too long of rerolling bc i kept getting dupes when i got my preferred ssr), i got all of diasomnia in a row, and then ace and deuce back to back, which i thought was really funny and coincidental. guess i know what dorm the game wants me to favor!

I actually can't remember all the SRs I saw when I was doing that first free 10 pull. I rerolled so many times because I refused to proceed with the game until I got my best boy, Jack, whom I eventually pulled after getting pretty much every other available SSR in my previous pulls, some of which I got multiple times lol I didn't care what the game said. I wanted my boy, and I made sure I got him 😂

Right off the bat, I'd recommend checking out this. It's the pinned post for an account that I often see get a lot of questions about the game, and they have masterlists that should be really helpful to you.

As far as the content gap is concerned, at this point, there really isn't a large gap between the JPN & ENG server cause ENG has been doling out new events like crazy to catch up 😂 However, there are a few events that we haven't gotten in the ENG server, and we're only getting the first part of Book 7 of the main story at the end of Nov while JPN has like 5 parts out so far for Book 7.

Anyway, you can click here to find the wiki page that shows all the Twst events for ENG & JPN. Unfortunately, by this point, ENG has pretty much already done reruns for all the events, and you can only read the stories for the events in the game if you were playing the game when those events came out, so if there was a certain event you were hoping to see, like the first Halloween one, you'll likely have to look for it on Youtube since the chances are low that it'll get another rerun in the game, although I won't say it's impossible since you really never know lol

As far as advice is concerned, I'd say save your gems for event banners, ergo the cards that are only available for a limited time while an event is ongoing. The dorm uniform SSRs will always be available in the standard showcase and in every event banner. The only banners they don't appear in are the birthday banners, which is a good thing since that means any SSR you get in the birthday banner is the one you're aiming for haha

I'd also recommend against spending your gems on LP since the 10 you get regenerates after 2.5 hours. It's better to just wait and take your time as you're progressing through the main story which will likely take a while for you since we currently have Books 1-6 and Book 7 Part 1 is coming.

Book 6 is especially brutal cause of the battles , so by the time you get there, make sure you have strong cards for Riddle/Azul/Leona/Jamil/Vil/Epel/Rook. You're gonna need them lol 😂

I don't mind at all! 😁

I've recently been doing a deep clean of all my unanswered asks and unfinished prompts and putting them in an order for me to complete so it doesn't feel as much like I'm drowning in an ocean of the things 😅

But there are so many good ones I'm excited to answer! So, as of now, I'm going to keep requests closed (apart from add-ons of characters to existing prompts) but I am working on a lot of new stuff!

I just absolutely needed to get organized before trying to tackle it all. But now that it's more structured and I'm near the end of my clean-up process, there should be more writing out soon!

are we talking the first two pages as in the prologue? Or are we taking the first two pages as in the first part of the first chapter?

Also, what qualifies as a page. Are we taking the sheet off paper front and back is one page or two?

Im assuming the question meant the first chapter, not the prolouge? Im really unsure, and I haven't read what other people put in their responses yet, so for now I'll just say do either. I think 2 pages would just be front and back.

on my knees begging you to please look up “squick” if you don’t know it and help bring it back to fandom space by using it. it’s a valuable word we’re missing that through normalizing could solve some of the more prevalent communication issues.

hii!! could you please explain to me who are mattheo riddle and theodore nott? like were did they come from? i always feel a little lost about them

yeah!! so from my understanding i believe mattheo originally was an original character in a hp fan fiction that kind of just blew up and people liked the character that was created.

i think most people say he’s voldemort’s son, some say his brother though

theodore I think is a character in the books (not entirely sure this is just what i’ve gathered from research on tiktok lol) and he’s a very minor part but people have fan casted them and they kind of just took off from there!!

hopefully this is helpful and makes sense, I’ve kind of just started figuring out who they are, as well so my information may not be the most accurate, but this is what i’ve gathered from it!!

Born and raised in a small mining town in New Mexico. Calida and María Molina have stayed behind to support their parents while Rosita and Madelina have gone off to pursue their dreams. Madelina recently obtained her Ph.D. in geology from Las Cruces College. Rosita works as a baking apprentice and entertainer in Ponyville, Nebraska. In a very important home life update: we got a high vis vest for one of our chickens

They apparently have a great unintended use of stopping hens from getting bullied, so we got one to try it out since the above hen gets excessively picked on by the others (we don't really know why).

Shout put to the wonderful @gingervivilou who told me about it!!

This bad boy was started on the third of November, and finished on the seventh. In total, there are thirty panels (all of which were drawn separately).

A good chunk of N's dialogue near the end came to me after I did some improv to figure out what he should say. I have since dubbed it "N's Failure Monologue."

Remember, the second and third can't happen if you don't have something to work with. Your first draft will always be shit compared to your third, but at least it exists. The worst first draft is an unfinished one. The best first draft is a just completed one.

You read books/stories not in their first draft form-- only in their finished form (third, fourth, sometimes fifteenth draft). So stop comparing your first draft with a final one.

So, just write--you can make it better later. Perfectionism is the greatest weight a creator can carry.

Can you make a launchpad icon

While I would LOVE to make icons, I actually don't know how! I'm not skilled at Photoshop (too many options! can't remember which tool does what!) and I instead use Adobe Premiere Pro to make my gifsets. My current icon is by the lovely TurquoiseSpace35, who gave me permission to use an image they created of an aged up Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls.

But there are tons of great icon artists here on Tumblr! After some quick searching, here are a few who could likely hook you up with an excellent Launchpad icon:
